STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!! I booked with them through Booking.com and they charged me immediately. I cancelled my booking at the same day. I was promised a refund and they tried to charge me the same amount again 2,686 USD. fortunately the bank rejected the second amount. I have been pushed around with nonsense saying that they refunded me which is a completely untrue. Now i am struggling with them and booking.com to return my money. PLEASE STAY AWAY from them.
Beware, they are greatly irresponsible, they are not honest, we canceeld oour stay on the time stated by them that would apply for refunds. It has been 64 days and have not yet received the refund, they are just excuses and got to the point wherer they do not answer emails anymore, Thsi hoitel should be shut down and be legally responsaible for all the damage the cause. POSSIBLE SCAM. Same as the other reviews, do not book this and expect a refund if you have to cancel. We booked through Booking.com and had to cancel. We cancelled back in August and are still awaiting a refund. The company will initially respond to your emails suggesting that they cant process your refund onto the same card and will provide other options for a refund and then will never refund you. In the end they just stopped replying to our emails. Booking.com also werent very helpful and weve had to persistently call them to get anywhere. The company tell booking.com that theyve processed the refund when clearly they havent. DO NOT BOOK!!
Avoid at all costs! There is no Wi-Fi in the room. Another guest told me they haven’t had internet for the past 3 weeks that he’s stayed here and they still didn’t inform me in advance. The elevator to my floor doesn’t work, my keycard was not working and overall no one cares.
The property owners are cheaters. We cancelled the booking within the cancellation period, and havent seen our money back - already 2 months (!) have passed.Every day they keep saying they will send the transfer within 24hrs and every day the same story - they never paid back.This is totally unacceptable cheating and lying. Never trust this property.
I was traveling to Denver with co-workers for a month-long conference and we stumbled across SoBe. This company is a hidden gem! The apartment was in the perfect location and had amazing views. The kitchen came stocked with everything we needed, apartment was cleaned exceptionally and they even had a main point of contact we could reach out to with anything we needed during our stay. Hotels are a thing of the past...Book with SoBe!
I second the other recent review of this place. STAY AWAY!!!! If you book because of the flexible cancellation policy and end up cancelling they will not refund you even though you are due one. They will give you the run around saying they are investigating and never actually let you speak with a live person. Its been a couple months now and Ive taken the matter with my CC.BEWARE
I stayed at this property for three weeks while working remotely. The apartment is fully furnished and has all the amenities you need to make this a long stay. Plenty of towels, cooking utensils, fast internet etc. The property manager was very responsive and made us feel at home. I highly recommend these apartments.
DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE!!We cancelled our reservation for May due to COVID in March and we have yet to receive a refund. We have emailed every week since then and called several times and we are no closer to getting our money back. We always get the same email template back saying they are running behind by up to 30 days even though we have been waiting 80 days now.The latest email from them was asking for our bank details as they no longer have our credit card details on file.We 100% believe this place is a scam and has stolen $1500 of our money.I must add that they were not supposed to take a prepayment as when we booked it said we pay at the property.
I cancelled a reservation with FREE CANCELLATION policy on the 16th April due to COVID-19 pandemic and had problems getting the refund. They eventually paid on the 17th June (thanks to Booking.com for intervening). Bear in mind I had a free cancellation so regardless the Covid-19 pandemic I should have get refunded without much hassle. However, the most disappointing part was receiving an email regarding my previous google review stating the following; We have noticed you have posted inaccurate and of damaging information on a public forum, If you can please remove the inaccurate review posted about the company we will expedite the refund. and That all being said, we would really appreciate you removing the negative review you posted and post a positive review instead. As appreciation of that, we would like to offer you a free stay with us for 3 nights at any of our properties nationwide OR 50% off a 7 night stay or longer. I did not accept their offer or remove the negative review based on my personal values and I felt they were bribing me. I reported this to Booking.com and later on they apologised but unfortunately I wont book with SoBeNYC again.
Please never reserve any apartment with this company, I booked on apartment in NYC on booking.com, they immediately charge my CC and send me a contract for another apartment, after multiple emails I understand that they were trying to fool me with false information, So I canceled my reservation on booking.com and they didnt refund me. When I asked where is my refund, they told me Ill be refund in 30 days !!! This is pure thief
Rented an apartment from them through VRBO in Washington DC. Due to Covid-19 we had to cancel our trip. The trip was cancelled in in plenty of time to receive a full refund. After three calls and them telling me my refund is on the way...I have yet to receive a refund. It has now been a month and they still have not refunded me my $913. First time booking through VRBO...needless to say this was not a very good experience. Will NEVER rent anything from SoBe NY again!!!
We were supposed to stay there in May but we couldnt due to Covid-19. We booked an apartment through Booking with free cancellation and cancelled it on the 16th of April, almost 2 months later we still havent got the refund. We are talking about 2000$, it is unacceptable. They charged us the same day of the reservation the whole amount, and we have to wait for it not knowing if theyll give us back OUR money when we need it the most?
DO NOT Book with this group. During the COVID pandemic I tried cancelling my reservation. I had to call 4 times to never receive a refund. I called and asked for a full refund due to the pandemic. I was told there was a policy in place to give a full refund when cancelled more than 30 days out, i was calling at 31 days. I never received a notification of my cancellation.On my 4th call I was told that the company had a 25% refund available 30 days prior to the stay. They then changed their policy 2 days after I called to no longer honor the 25% refund. I have not receive on cent from this company. Even though I called before they changed the policy and I was lied to about my full refund, I have not receive my 25% refund because I was asking for a full refund.
I wasnt believing the other reviews until it happened with me today. I booked 2 days before travel on 21st Dec 2021 and was charged full amount including cleaning fee almost immediately. Total amount charged was around USD 850. A day before travel, the hotel sent and email that 18Dec was supposed to be their opening day and that the hotel is not opened yet and that they would not be able to host us. Then how come they charge me on 21st telling me the date of 18th.This is a scam that they play. They will show you booking on all booking channels very well knowing that their property is not open and the moment you book, they would charge your credit card and then send an email mentioning non availability with due refund.Now i am literally scared reading the reviews whether my refund will come or not as iv seen people waiting for 6 months. If i dont get to see anything happening, I would take the Legal way.But beware. Its a total scam. They spoiled my family trip before even starting it. Now because of this, I have to book a last minute hotel paying almost 3 times the price. Let alone the USD 850 that now i cannot use and short.Beware. Avoid if you dont wanna loose your money.And yes, I am going to visit the hotel checking why they are doing kind of fraud.
Me and my friend came from Russia to New York in March and stayed at one of the SoBe’s apartments. after the pandemic started we decided to stay at the same flat until the pandemic is over. the apartment has all the essentials, very clean and quite. the service just could not be better. very helpful and nice people work there. just simply nothing to complain about in my opinion.
Address provided by website takes you to a Deli NOT the apartment. Google SOBE NY & that wrong address appears everywhere.We were not sent any check in information. We had to call for the info & correct address. Cleaner had just finished when we arrived after official check in time..It does not have 2 bathrooms but 1 full & an additional restroom.Front bedroom is very cramped, hears all the city street noise (for those sensitive to noise). It also has a bedside lamp that has no power outlet to use....that made me laugh.Place needs a few little details added.A tall mirror! mirrors & door/wall hooks in all bedrooms.Master bedroom has a large walk in closet with no clothing rails.No hairdryer.Welcome manual is useless.TV has no instructions, could not access free to air stations....streaming services only.The place is nice, good kitchen, clean, newly renovated & in good location but clearly managed badly.
Horrible experience. For a company that boasts about customer service, they provide anything but. They have no call center due to COVID, so you have to text a number and hope you get a response. When trying to submit a Contact Us on their site, the page cant be found when you try to submit. This company is a scam and takes your money with no intention of supporting their customer or returning the money.
I cancelled my reservation with SoBe in March and it took longer to get my money back than it would during normal times but I finally got my full refund. I have not personally experienced any communication issues with the company and received my money as they promised.
I reserved through Expedia and paid $1,600.00 for a 3 bedroom apartment in December 2018. I just received a confirmation for a 2 bedroom in a different location. The woman who answers the phone says I need to soeak to Jimmy Chapman. I have left several messages about this problem and no one will call me back. Mmmm. Is this company a legitimate company?
SCAM failure to refund. Since October I have waited for a refund on almost 2,000 dollars. SOBE New York , Lenox Hill Apartment- after ten phone calls I have yet to get my money back. Asked for the mailing address, it is 1200 Ocean Dr. Miami Beach--- Can someone please help me get my money back?
They wouldnt give me an actual address until the refund period is up. I couldnt take a chance because I was there for covid19. Asked for a refund. They kept saying I will issue a refund this date and that date. Its been 2.5months and I still didnt get it yet. Issuing refunds has nothing to do with covid19. Cut the bs excuse. You are using my money at no interest!
A complete disaster. There was cheese smeared on the glass dining room table. The beds were unmade and there were Dorito crumbs everywhere. SoBe Promised me in writing they would reimburse me for four nights in a hotel, yet I have been waiting more than a month for a response.
I arrived in Boston the day of my stay only to receive a text message from SoBe that they are cancelling on me. If that wasnt terrible enough - I had to panic book a hotel room for 4 people to share instead of the nice apartment I reserved for my graduation from Harvard. It has now been more than 2 months since my reservation and I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY REFUND. Ive been calling with no answer, and I booked through booking.com and been struggling with them as well to get a refund for a stay that was cancelled on ME!This place is truly some kind of scam - the same happened to my husband when he booked a property with then in NYC and cancelled within the refund window. Took 9 months to receive his money back. I do not recommend this place - how can what they do even be LEGAL? It is pure robbery.
If I could give this absolutely terrible company a 0, I would. I booked my trip to Denver on 05/10/2022. Our check in was on 06/26/2022 at 3 PM. We get to the place at 10 AM, understand I am early, and see if we could check in early and gave them my confirmation info. They said when it got closer to 3 PM, they would send a text with the info on where to park and what apartment we were in. At 3:30, they inform us that they had software troubles and that they could not complete our reservation. They said they would give us a refund. We are sitting in front of where we are supposed to stay. Now we have to find a hotel for 2 nights in downtown Denver at a rate 250-300$ per night. BE AWARE. Booking.com did not inform us that the company was SOBE. I blame both for this absolutely awful experience.
I booked one of these properties on booking, with free cancellation and prepayment. Two days before arrival they contact me telling me that the structure is not available and offers an alternative solution. I canceled the booking and after about 60 and a long practice they refunded my booking because no action on their part even though they kept saying they would refund.Bad.
Booking via booking.com. Canceled the next day. The entire booking was downloaded immediately. The attempt to recover the money has been going on for 3 months. The hotel delayed the transfer and never made it, but tried to collect the rebooking amount 4 times from my account. Unfortunately, the reaction of Booking.com is mediocre. Still waiting: this is the Christmas period, and this is New Years Eve, and this is 15 working days from the decision to return, and this is their internal regulation with the hotel and the next 21 working days. I do not recommend the hotel, not booking through Booking.com.

2022-03-17Outrageous. We had to cancel a booking over $3,000 we made in October. It’s mid March now and we still haven’t received a single penny of the full refund that we were supposed to receive within 30 days. We have reached out to SoBe NY in various different ways, spent hours sending texts, emails etc. and all we get in response is that their refunds team is “working on it”. Seriously? You’re working on a simple refund for half a year? At this point it’s not just absurdly unprofessional, it’s criminal. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else!

2021-12-28BUYER BEWARE!!!! Do not book your stay with this company. I booked a two-bedroom apartment for Thanksgiving weekend and it was less than 24 hrs before check in that I hadnt received any communication from my host so I decided to text them. It was then that they decided to inform me that my reservation had been canceled because they werent able to validate my information and that a full refund will be issued within 7 business days. Yet, at no point did they ever contact me to inform me that any information was missing or they needed additional information regarding my stay. Its been over a month and Ive yet to receive a full refund. Ive emailed them every week for a month and they keep telling me that my request has been forwarded to the refunds department. They keep brushing my request to the side and keep avoiding my request to speak to a Manager. This is completely unacceptable and this is not what a reputable business does. BUYER STAY AWAY!

2022-02-08They canceled on me the day before my trip. They told me to book another place through either booking.com, hotels.com, or airbnb.com for up to $1000 and they would pay for it. So, i did. I sent the bill, and they would not pay it. They (Crystal) said the woman (Sandy) who told me that was let go, and they could not honor what she instructed me to do. So, they essentially canceled on me the day before a trip and left me high and dry. Terrible policy.

2022-05-16If I could have given them 0 stars, I would have.Booked via booking.com and despite it saying I didn’t need to make a payment until our stay, they took the money anyway.Three weeks before our trip they sent me a message via WhatsApp (how professional) to say the apartment was no longer available. That was in early March and I’ve still had no refund. Shambles from them and shame on booking.com for allowing them on their site

2022-06-10This company is absolutely horrible. I was planning a trip to Washington D.C when I got a email stating my reservation has been canceled due to issues with some software issues. This happened 3 days before our stay and we booked about 9 months before. I have two disappointed little boys because of this. There was also a review I read after I book the property stating that this place was a scam. I called VRBO and they took this property off it’s sight. Do better people your ruining peoples vacations!

On our way there they emailed us to tell us that our booking had to be cancelled because of some information they could not verify from us. We had given them ALL the details they had asked for.So now, we are in LA without a place to sleep for 6 days!They don’t answer emails and there is not a phone to talk to them!They are a total scam!!NEVER BOOK WITH SOBENY, they will ruin your holidays!“ Due to restrictions in our residential units our top priority is the safety and security of our guests as well the residents of the buildings we occupy.We do a comprehensive screening of each guest that books with us. 2022-04-03We found sobeny through booking.com as a 1 month short term rental solution. We booked on March 5th 2022 for the month of April. The reason we booked was because it said there was a free cancelation policy, and we trusted booking.com.We soon found a permanent apartment rental so we cancelled the reservation on March 15th.It is now April 3rd and Sobeny has giving us the run around about not being able to process our card, and asking about our zelle information. This morning I went to the reviews and saw that they have done this with a great many people.I am working with booking.com and still hoping to get my $2500 back. Im surprised booking.com lets this company advertise on its website because the only reason we booked with Sobeny is because they are booking.comWe are still working with booking.com and hoping to get our money back but Im surprised SobeNy hasnt been sued for malpractice.I feel like I have gotten scammed by Sobeny and I would like to take legal action. Its embarrassing that I even have to write this but this company is a total scam. if they dont have a cancellation policy then they shouldnt claim to have a free cancelation policy simple as that. I am going to continue to contact Sobeny and work with booking.com to get my money back.

2022-05-17Avoid at all costs.Booked to stay in Washington DC. Arrived at the address given 2 hours early. No such address.I contacted them to ask for the correct address, they informed me swiftly that you cant check in early. I hung around until 3. When I heard nothing I contacted them and they told me that they had tech and software issues and had to cancel.This lefted me stranded in Washington, no offer of a refund, no concern of if I could get accomodation elsewhere.Theyve still not refunded me, theyve not had the decency to respond to emails.Atrocious customer services and should be avoided. 3400 mile flight to no accomodation simply isnt acceptable.
