What supportive and kind staff, not what I anticipated. I am an advocate/rep for a disabled person who became eligible for Medicaid. Everyone was so helpful and informative. Even the Police Officers at the entrance security check were friendly and upbeat.

My experience here has been mixed. Some workers are clearly so jaded they look right through you while going through the motions of helping you. I had to spend an entire day filling out forms, waiting hours, jumping through their hoops just to be denied. For me, having to ask anyone for help is difficult. Those jaded workers make the process humiliating and defeating. If youre lucky you may find a few truly caring individuals who go above and beyond. Sadly, they are few and far between.

I volunteer at one of the UC Depts for seniors where the staff is generally great and volunteers are equally as good. The dept recently changed directors so I do not know anything about the new director, but Ive met the new Asst director who presented as a friendly warm caring person. The previous director was a wonderfully proactive friendly caring lively person with a good sense of humor. In observing staff interaction, it was very easy to see that the depts proactive positive environment, is most likely the result of the atmosphere the prior director nurtured there, combined with some wonderful staff. While I have not had any interactions with the new director, others speak positively about her. Good leadership influences how effective a dept will or can be in delivering services. Its been a nice place to volunteer

Landlord along with other tenants living in the apartment building would like to Lodge a complaint against: Ulster County Adult Protection Services (APS), Ulster County Commissioners office for not taking appropriate action, human rights violations and discrimination.Adult Protection Services of Ulster County and Ulster County Commissioners office have failed to move 1 senior tenant to senior housing / care or facility as that tenant is causing health hazard, damages to the entire apartment building, nuisance and with more than 10+ tenants including infants, kids, teenagers, families living in the same building.Neighbor are frustrated and on behalf of all the tenants we would like to lodge a complaint against Ulster County APS and Ulster County Commissioners office as they are in violations of Human Rights - right to live in a clean and healthy environment.APS and Ulster County had a motion in February 2020 and requested judge that within 2 weeks they will take Guardianship and move the Senior Tenant to Nursing Home or a facility and since then Landlord has made more than 100+ calls, sent more than 30+ emails pleaded requested APS team, Ulster County Commissioners office, Health Department and every possible option out there, and still Ulster County are unable to move the tenant.This is causing big impact, health hazard and nuisance to neighboring tenants, families, damages to the entire apartment building which is going to collapse due to senior lives water running on for hours as the senior tenant is not in physical and mental state of mind. She is also not able to take care of herself and helpless and APS is giving false excuses that they cannot move the tenant to Nursing home / facility while her husband / spouse who lived in the same apartment was moved 2 weeks back.It is shame, this is how you treat a Senior Tenant who has no one to take care and this how you care about kids, families who have to live in such a health hazard building. You dont care about any life you guys are just good for giving excuses!

I will say i used to love these guys there great when it comes to helping and this is in the now single people or people who are not in a relationship. so single people like moms or whatever but if you have a family forget it they do not help anymore.

Some personnel are efficient and friendly...some have a real attitude and have absolutely horrid social deficiencies. They say if you have to do this kind of work and take it out on the public...get out of this job!
