Very rude customer service! My daughter ordered a thi iced tea which tasted like spoiled bitter tea! Instead of replacing the disguisting drink we were offered to add more sugar to it or pay for a new drink. And we actually were willing to pay for a new one when the girl told us to go to the back of the line!!! What kind of service is that?! Neither I or anyone I know will ever return to this disgrace of a place.. too bad because kids used to love it! There are plenty of ice cream places on staten island!
I placed a custom ordered ice cream cake about a week ago on their website to be picked up today to celebrate my husbands birthday as well as Fathers day. Nicole messaged me via e-mail asking about the cake details. I replied right back answering her questions then no reply ever since. Fast forward today, I went to the bensonhurst location as its right down my block to be told theres no cake order for me, told me to call this location and ask for Nicole as she handles cake order. I called and apparently shes not there and told me to call back tomorrow, I told the girl on the phone the situation and she said she will leave a message for Nicole and shell call me back. Nicole calls me back to tell me theres no order for me. Im furious.. She asks me if anyone has called me to get my payment information in order to confirm the cake. I said no and hence the cake was not confirmed. So its my fault? No one called nor did they reply to my email. She said they have cakes at the location just not the flavor I want and they can write on it. WHAT IS THE POINT OF ORDERING IN ADVANCED??? I will absolutely not order cakes here anymore and others should not as well as it seems they dont want business.
I love this place ! The drinks and desserts are amazing and the staff are nice. It gets pretty busy and kind of loud at times because there are tons of younger kids that hang out there. It’s not an issue for me because I never stay at eat there. I’ve recommended this place to tons of friends because I love their special drinks and ice cream flavors ! My favorite is their star shaped jelly in the bubble tea. I recommend strawberry green tea !!
I havent tried the bubble tea yet, but I really like the homemade ice creams. I have tried the green tea ice cream and the banana. I LOVE both of them, its hard to decide which one to get when I go in there. My husband always gets a mocha chip milkshake and my son loves the strawberry. They have many other exotic flavors. The service was fast and the price was decent. I will be back!!!
Worst Customer Service I have ever experienced. Incredibly rude girl on the phone. Grubhub order came missing one of two items ordered. I call the shop, the rude girl from the get go gets defensive and says she put it in herself so the Grubhub driver must have stolen it. Okay fine-so what can be done. She rudely tells me she can’t do anything and to call Grubhub customer service. Though I know how the process works, I was surprised she offered no apologies and acted like I was bothering her by calling. I would expect an establishment to try to help a situation. This establishment chooses to use Grubhub, I know they cannot refund my money, but the lack of any resemblance of sympathy from this rude woman was shocking. When I asked her her name, She even hung up on me. Will not ever patronize this establishment and plan to share this woman’s rudeness with others.
The best bubble tea and ice cream shop in Staten Island. ^_^... I was pleasantly surprised with the bubble tea drinks here and the milkshakes are not too shabby either! Ask for a loyalty rewards card, after the fifth purchase, the sixth drink is on the house. They have quite a few options for bubble tea but I always get the milk green tea. Prices range from $3.5-5 for the bubble tea and they also have a few tables and chairs so you can sit and enjoy your cold tea indoors.
I generally steer clear of here during the summer when it gets overwhelmingly busy and they dont really seem to know how to handle it. But when it isnt crushingly busy -- they have great ice cream! They even do rolled ice cream which is a new enough trend to be impressive.
I went into Something Sweet to try their bubble tea for the first time. Knowing they had a 5 dollar credit/debit card minimum, I ordered the large bubble tea. The order came out to 4.98 yet they still wouldnt take my card. I am very surprised since most businesses I know would be flexible in these circumstances especially being that I was 2 cents under. Instead I was told I could buy a brownie and spend more money on something I really didnt want. Luckily, the bubble tea made up for it.
Its an ok spot for bubble tea if you live in Staten Island (especially since there arent that many places in Staten Island that have authentic Asian food and drink). I would prefer to go to Flushing or Chinatown (Lower Manhattan Or Brooklyn Chinatown) for bubble tea, but if you choose the right stuff here, its pretty good. The Thai iced tea is surprisingly way too sweet, considering that the owner is Thai - probably influenced by the local tastes. But the green tea is pretty good.
Only bubble tea shop on the island. Its definitely improved a lot over the years, but the boss/manager I often see treats her workers like dirt. And I was charged $1.50 for what should have been a free bubble tea from my loyalty card filling up. Not worth the travel if your from the north shore, take the ferry, then the R to 8th street station. Theres a Boba guys for the same price, incredible quality.
First off, the girl working there was annoyed she had to help my girlfriend and I after her coworker asked her to because a bunch of us were just standing there. The prices are outrageous.....$15 for 2 ice-cream cones considering it was the poorest excuse of an icecream cone I ever had. $1 extra for a piss drip of sprinkles? Def not coming back. For the girl to be so annoyed she had to help us is a disgrace and For those prices the least you could is have decent service.
Everything tastes amazing in this place. I gave 4 stars just because they are a little stingy on the bubbles (tapioca) in the tea compared to other bubble tea places close by in New Jersey and they limit the toppings to 2. Other than that amazing ice cream, amazing tea, amazing macaroons, amazing everything 😊
This happened today around 8pmHorrible service. I ordered two bubble tea and a tiramisu shake. One bubble tea lychee black tea extra bubble the other honeydew. The girl gives me the honeydew and a taro and tells me that the order was read back to me. I just got off antibiotics for post anal drip and cant drink milk and basically they wouldnt make it over for me. Then they didnt give me back my points card. I had to ask for it and they give back to me without my added points for the 3 drinks I bought and had to ask for it to be added. Then I tell them I cant drink the drink they made and they just stare at me as I go to pay for a new drink this one girl the same one with the attitude that said to me she read the order to you tells me I can get my drink for free. She charges me 55¢ for the extra bubble and doesnt give me my 5¢ mind you I get its only 5¢ but seeing that I was already annoyed its not cute that she didnt give it to me.Its a shame because Ive been going there for years before they renovated the store and I love the owner. I know if he was there he would have fixed the order for me with no problem. He always loves when I get black tea cause he says I know my tea flavor and can handle my tea.I feel that the workers should be watched me because after this I really dont wanna go back.Specially since it seemed she was making fun of me with her friend that kept coming to talk to her while she was talking with me.Annoying!!
I have seen this place change back and fourth to various businesses mostly ice cream but this one has stuck because i has some pretty damn good ice cream. I was looking for hazelnut ice cream and said let me check it out and look. They did and it was awesome. It has various flavors of ice cream to pick from and the place is very clean.
This place is very trendy. Mostly high school kids hang out here as there literally isnt anything to do on this island. This is not the place to go to to study as it gets very loud. Its great for meeting up with your old high school friends etc etc. The staff is all young people and they are great!
Interesting place in Staten Island. They sell asian specialties like Bubble Tea and asian inspired ice cream flavors as well! Yum. However, came by here for a good cup of smoothie. Their mango smoothie was delicious and certainly milky thick to my liking. Prices might be a bit high for a non-manhattan place, but Ill take it considering the lack of choice in SI.
So my first experience here wasnt stellar. Waited on a decently sized line, ordered 2 scoops of ice cream, 1 passion fruit sorbet and 1 lychee on a cone. The woman assisting me wasnt able to scoop the sorbet into the cone because of its water content - it kept breaking apart. She offers for it to be placed in a cup and I ask if the cone, instead of being thrown out could just be placed on top and she obliges. Im getting rung up, she charges me an extra $.50 for the cone and apologizes, asking if I still want it.... So I just keep the cone and pay the extra. We finally start trying the ice cream, the passion fruit, as expected was mostly water and not really a sorbet, more like an icy. The lychee was delicious but also included a quarter inch chunk of plastic. When I brought this to the managers attention she let me know that it was probably a piece of chipped container - she thanked me for bringing it to her attention and that was it. I hope they swap out those broken containers...
I’ve been to something sweet multiple times and must say they never fail to amaze me. Their starry night concoction is a burst of summer in your mouth. They carry a copious number of different boba that’ll surely keep any picky drinker appeased! Additionally, there ice cream flavors and toppings are varied which is amazing.
Today was 94F out and Instead of going to starbucks was with my toddler waited for 30 min before their opening and I came in at 11 sharp I expect to get my bubble tea right away but no tapioca and I have to wait for more than an hour to have it. what kind of business is that ????? you open at 11am but no tapioca for bubble tea. (-_-)
Been a customer for over 2 years, never had an issue until tonight. The Staff who close at night are very rude, seem to get annoy as soon as you walk in with a group of 4. Absolutely making you feel uncomfortable. Last years staff were absolutely friendly. These 2 new staffs need to be replace.
The service is terrible, I got ice cream and I wanted to pay with card and I met there $5 minimum and there card machine was down so they should have made that known, and then they went on to tell me to write down my card info, I said no because that’s ridiculous I’m not giving out my card info, and then they made me wait 40 mins for there manager, and then they spent another 10 mins figuring out how to charge me through there phone, and they didn’t even offer a discount or apologize for the inconvenience.

2021-08-21This place is awesome! Yes some of you will say , Hey AU, you always rate ice cream places with 5 stars, no one cares what you think! In which my response will be well, youre still reading this arent ya?! *runs away while devouring ice cream*. Back to something sweet, place is super clean, vibe is super friendly and chill, and the ice cream is not the generic tubs you find at other places, flavors (see photos) felt fresh and the staff there were so friendly and patient! Got ice cream and bubble tea. If you unfortunately live in Staten island, def go to this place :)!. The photos speak for themselves! And before I go. Let me leave you with this one tidbit... for those of you who love rum raisin or red bean.... you have no soul.

2021-12-31I order from Something Sweet quiet often and normally never have a problem with them. I always check off “contact-free delivery.” This time the driver left my drinks on the top step going to my front door. How am I supposed to grab my order without spilling it? Does someone really not know you can’t put drinks on the top step of where a door opens? I wasn’t able to grab my drinks and they spilled all over my steps. Ridiculous. To top it off, the order was made incorrectly. Won’t be ordering again.

2022-07-152nd time in a raw ordered drinks and dessert through Doordash and received only dessert. I would assume it’s a technical issue, but my full order was clearly printed on the receipt. Not gonna order again.

2016-08-21Love the bubble tea and fresh fruit shakes. Its a bit overpriced but they do have a bubble tea loyalty card where you buy 5 or 6 and get one free. Youll find a lot of high school kids there after school and on weekends/school breaks.

2022-01-19Do not be fooled by the negative reviews. I have been coming here for almost fifteen years. The world may grow up around this place, but this place stays the same and consistent with its exceptional products. A landmark of a business that anyone on Staten Island should certainly check out. Best homemade desserts around! The oolong milk tea, taro bubble tea, cheesecake, pecan tart and rose macarons are my personal favorite items from here. Absolutely worth the trip!

2021-04-30I visited today for the first time. Usually i get my bubble tea from a store right in front of this store in New Dorp Plaza. I tried the milk bubble tea Nutella. It tastes good but the bubble tea have different flavor from the one i used to. It was so sweet and cold. The place was crowded with customers ordering and customers seated for an ice cream or bubble tea or cake. I think it is really good place to have some sweets and to spend some times there with your young kids. If you are in the Island, go try it and give small local businesses a hand. Great job 👏👍👌🙌

2021-12-09Wide variety of SweeT stuff, hence the name. Bubbles here are good. I like jasmine milk tea with bubbles. Cute interior as well. They have ice cream, milkshakes, and macarons.I like their macarons and have never tried their milkshakes or ice cream. But the inside is spacious, staff is friendly.

2021-09-15Giving three stars because my taro milk tea was good, but the man who was there was actually incredibly rude. I feel like every time I come here after 8 pm the man who I saw working tonight is always just so rude. For such a known place they should be a little more on top of customer service
