Amazing spot and beautiful sunset view!!! We were a little worried about coming to this spot with two of our black female friends based on the previous reviews, but we did not experience any racial discrimination.Staff were very friendly and attentive from door host to bathroom attendant. We started at the igloo then went downstair to the club. It was an amazing nightOur favorites cocktails are Queen of Hearts, Ambrosia and The Enchanted.
This was one of the highlights of our weekend stay. Rooftop views were incredible. We went for early evening drinks and appetizers. Our server Sophia was lovely. Overall all of the staff was very accommodating. Every drink we had was perfectly poured and food was also tasty.
Amazing views, cocktails on point and service that improves each visit. Don’t let the sea of people waiting to get in, or the long lines on the elevator to 35th floor discourage you. The newest addition to the roof top style post Covid has lived up to all its expectations. The haters are the ones that can’t get in, and they are right to say service isn’t up to par; but after a few visits I have noticed the improvement and crowd begin to be more regulars than tourists or promoters.
I m very much surprised by all these bad reviews because I was at this place last night and I was alone until my girl friends join me ,everyone was extremely kind. People at the door, bartenders, bouncers everyone was so sweet. I will definitely be back because view is amazing and people are nice. I tried to tip the bathroom people extra because they work really hard entire night to keep the place like brand new. It is so important. I hate gross bathrooms. This place is really legit. I highly recommend this place for ladies, if nice view, clean bathrooms, kind people important to you I recommend cause you feel elite here. Security people were very kind too. I realized they kept cleaning the floor every few mins to make sure people are dancing safely. Honestly whoever is their manager I can tell they are overall doing a great job🙌
My friends and I bought tickets to enter the famous rooftop club while visiting New York City this past weekend. Once we get there, the bouncer said we were not allowed in due to the fact my friends shoe is not on dress code. I told him when we bought the tickets online and on the email it never said anything about the type of shoes a person should be wearing. Under the section of dress code on the email, it only said about tops and bottoms, in which we followed. Never it mentioned anything about shoes, I then pull up the email to show it to the bouncer and he didnt acknowledge the email when I presented it to him. All he stated was I will not read the email and I am just telling you what the dress code is and those shoes are not allowed, reschedule your tickets for another day and reply to the email. Keep in mind, we were visiting, and the email is a NoReply email. He then called manager in which he didnt know anything about the email and gave us a number to call which goes to voice mail. In the end, we were not allowed in, nobody helped us, and the email is very much misleading while they have another policy in their own heads. I honestly didnt like the way we were treated. I forgot to mention, I pointed out every other person that had the same shoes as my friend and they didnt like the fact I did that. I asked if we were not allowed in based on looks, based on something else besides shoes that we dont know of? In the end, word of advise, avoid this place at all cost. Not worth it, Marquee NYC is way better than this place.
The view is nice. The food is beyond abysmal. Fries were served cold (why would they commit such an atrocity) and the drinks were pretty much a hotchpotch of liquors mixed together. Went on a monday so the service was quick as it wasnt too busy. Had to go here once since staying at the renaissance hotel. In short, the view is great, food/drinks beyond terrible, service decent. Pricing compared to other rooftops in nyc.
I really had to write a review for this place. I actually attended a birthday at somewhere no where two weeks ago. The service and staff was nothing short of amazing and the music was great.Throughout the night I lost my phone and the staff really tried to help me look as I left the club. The next day decided to email the club and find out if someone turned it in. I received an email from Kelsey instantly responding stating that she thinks it’s my phone based on my email description. At that point I was in constant contact with Kelsey to retrieve the phone which we met literally the following day. She was not just amazing, but went above and beyond to ensure I got my phone back because it’s my of my business. That speaks volume about this establishment between the staff and the customer service. I would say many places in the city don’t offer this experience but not somewhere no where they are just good people. I highly recommend this place and I am so thankful for Kelsey and the entire staff.Best,Christopher B.
This club is ridiculous. It’s empty. Literally EMPTY. My friends and I went to the roof top (which by the way, was requiring a minimum of 800$ tab to be opened). To be fair, the food is very good. Bottle service is regular and waitress were nice. Halfway through our stay, aome of our friends decided to go downstairs just to catch up on the vibe (because the rooftop was LITERALLY EMPTY). Our friends who went downstairs, couldn’t go back up because of one dude specifically (and I will point him out), the dude who’s built like a colossal titan is an absolute joke at his job. Missed his draft at the NBA and decided to work there. Please fire him ASAP. Not only that, the blond waitress who actually has pickle slice for a brain and a goldfish memory.
Nice view, cozy and quit place to hang out on Monday. I can’t complain a lot but I would definitely improve their appetizer menu as they have only 5-6 choices. Also some of the servers don’t speak English or don’t understand it very well. Small, drinks were fine we picked it just because other places were closed.
Walked 20 blocks in the rain to check out this club with my boyfriend. Had read the FAQ and rules on the website beforehand so we dressed nice enough to get in, although my boyfriend didn’t dress in a suit, just nice jeans and shoes. We didn’t make a reservation so we showed up at 10:30 when the club had just opened. There was no line so it was clearly not busy. The bouncers had us wait for 10 minutes in rain and then one of them told us “just so you know, the bar minimum is $200” which immediately felt odd to me because no one mentioned this on the website or in reviews. My gut told me they we’re trying to deter us and this made me definitely not want to go in. So we didn’t. I won’t pay $200 to a business that doesn’t really want me in there, even though we certainly could have. I have no idea if the reason was because we didn’t look the part, if we just seemed broke, or because my boyfriend is Hispanic (there seem to be a lot of reviews about discriminating bouncers). Either way, it didn’t feel hospitable so I would say, no matter how nice it is inside, it’s not worth the price of your dignity to get in.
In 2022, its very easy to go to an establishment that isnt racist towards its black customers. PLEASE if youre looking for somewhere to spend some money and have a good time, go to a place that doesnt act like how this place does towards its customers of color. I was made to stand outside for 40+ min while my non-black friends were given direct entry. The security did not give any reason why I was denied entry, and from what I could see, it was because of my skin color. PLEASE go elsewhere.
Not a bad place, cute entrance love the deco and dancers. However, watch out for the security guards upstairs by the bathroom they will try and ask you to take care of them $$ to just skip the line and not get kicked out. The security in the front was very professional.
Bouncer tried to charge me and my friends $2600 for a table on a Sunday night then called me and my friends “cheap Pakistani street vendors” when we didn’t want to pay his bribe. Racist and rude establishment.Go to Mr Purple for overpriced drinks at least they won’t be racist and rude. Hopefully the owner allows us to reach out otherwise you’ll be hearing from my lawyer. Notice how he only replies to the 5 star comments. I’ll give you a run for your money bro. I’m not even middle eastern and your guys had the audacity to call me a racist name as well as try to get $2600 for us. If you’re a tourist beware. Your Money will be much better spent at bars like The Blonde, Little Sister, Clockwork, etc. cheaper drinks and good, non racist vibes
This place SUCKS.The line took an hour and half;Coat check was mandatory and we got charged for it;The actual space is very small, very crowded, and very poorly designed (but at least the decor is cool, so there’s that);Bar was understaffed, drinks were trash;Music was good though. We stayed for 45 minutes before we decided to cut our losses and go elsewhere. All in all, there are so many more places in Manhattan/New York that have the same or better view, the same or better music, and are actually enjoyable. Never coming back here again.
Nice new venue. We went the second day that it opened relatively early in the evening (6 pm) so it wasn’t as happening just yet. The high ceilings and the Manhattan/empire state building views are beautiful. It has an interesting chic vibe and the cocktails are super expensive
DO NOT GO HERE!My friends and I bought tickets ($120 each) for their event on Saturday that started at 10, which came with an open bar for one hour. We get there a little early because we are staying at the hotel thats attached to it. Come to find out that the event would not be starting at 10 because a party they had beforehand ran later. An HOUR AND A HALF LATER, IN THE FREEEZING COLD, they finally started letting people in. When I say freezing, it was to the point we could not feel our bodies. Nobody in that establishment cared, they watched us from the inside and did nothing to rectify the situation even when we finally got inside. Then, to make matters worse. The hour open bar was in reality only 25 minutes because it took 20 minutes to get up to the place and some of us they gave cards to and not the bracelets which meant we paid for the open bar. By the time those of us actually got the bracelets, the open bar was practically over.My friends and I made the best out of the night but this place is not worth it at all. Wouldve rather spent $120 somewhere else, literally.
Wish i could give zero stars!!! Hi I was behind these women in line last night after a concert and overhead a Russian chick at the door tell the bouncer to not let one of the women in because she was Ugly. Then advised them that in order for her to come in, she would have to pay a 200 cover…. ON A THURSDAY!! Later I saw them inside and asked if they actually paid the 200. They said no for a cover but was told that they had to spend at least 200 at the bar.. so in order to come in their ID and card was requested, placed in an envelope and given to the bartender to ENSURE the 200 dollars was spent. Not to mention, the place wasn’t even packed!! Shame on you all, especially coming from.. you know.. no need to slander that Russian girl…….THAT WOULD BE UGLY!
Worst door experience ever- Richard the doorman is extremely rude and should honestly be fired, we even saw him yell at attractive young women who did nothing wrong. It’s pretty but just okay inside. I guess worth going to if its free but I wouldn’t spend money here and definitely would not book a table that you want to depend on, its nothing special. Summer Club in LIC is much better, bigger pool and better music.
Came from CT & had tickets to a Breathe Carolina show Friday night . Took the train so I would be responsible & not drink & drive since I was planning on having at least a few drinks. Got there and was told “sorry the only way to get in now is if you buy a bottle. “ It was only a few minutes after 11pm & I had a ticket. The same thing happened to friends of mine that I was supposed to meet up there. Place is a scam, we will never purchase tickets for here again. Thankfully, we were able to save our night & cop tickets to Dirty South at Harbor, where we were able to get in & spend our money. We’ll stick to spending our money at Marquee or Harbor when we go to NY.
Very strict and exclusive!! A friend booked an event here for about 50-60 people on a Monday weekday, a couple of us were turned away for shorts and sweats. We knew places could be strict on weekends, but to think on an early evening weekday. Strange a venue known for a swimming pool would have such rules. Are we suppose to enjoy a pool, even on surface in jeans? Imagine what theyd do on a weekend night, other reviewers can prob answer that.Only reason will bump to 2 stars is that bouncers and front were at least talkable, just simply strict, and that compared to other venues that might discriminate, different rules for different folks, theyre at least consistent with their words.Supposedly drinks are pricy, but views are great, so we were prepared to spend, of course well never know now, we lost out on fun and they lost out on customers, total lose lose situation, very poor business practice. Only semi silver lining is, because we didnt spend here, we can thankfully now take our business elsewhere.
I hope the owners take the complaints that pop up seriously because even in the night life/club scene there should be some dignity and honesty. This place is straight up high way robbery. Not only is it unethical to overcharge a table without their permission but they wrote themselves a $2,000 gratuity tip. Yes, $2k tip that was unauthorized (not the typical added 20%).Shame on the owners, top to the bottom bouncers. Grossly negligent on all aspects of running a business.
After waiting an hour on line, the lady at the door told my friend youre so drunk, you dont know what day it is as an excuse to not let us in. My friend is two years sober. We then got into an altercation with their meathead bouncers after replying that were dead sober. This is the kind of place that gets a lot of hate but people show up due the allure of exclusivity. I can assure you having been there two weekends now, dont go! The hate is justified. The guy in front of me only got in because he paid a $600 bottle fee they hit him with last minute. Spend your money elsewhere
We came here so excited to come and were so let down. We are very familiar with the NYC going out scene, and this was lame. It was overly crowded,Could barely move-let alone dance. The staff was super rude despite that we paid almost $100/ticket for 5 people. I would never come here again, phd rooftop was much better and worth the money
My friends and I were denied re-entry of to our rooftop table after we spent above 700 USD even if we remained within our allowed scheduled time. The tall bouncer was not professional, did not comply with the verbal instruction we were given and was condescendent. The music was great and the waiters were fantastics. However the tall bouncer ruined our night.
Beautiful views from the rooftop and the lounge - I recommend this place to all my friends and family who visit to get a fun night with amazing views of New York. They have top djs perform on the weekends, and I consider it my go-to spot! Check out the whimsical atmosphere and the fantasy inspired drinks, so good!
Unacceptable experience here. I came with a promoter and about 12 of my girl friends…they cut off some of us from entering at one point. Finally they let most of us except for one of my friends because her “ID would not scan.” She’s 24 years old and she has never had this problem before. She is out in NYC often. Even with the promoter being sent back down to help resolve this issue, the bouncers would not even look at her/give her the time of day. Blatant discrimination here. And they were not receptive to our complaints at all as we left. These comments all seem to be the same…about BLATANT disrespect and racism on human beings trying to give them service. Let’s change this…it’s 2022. This is not okay. We will never be coming here again.
I rarely write reviews, but this was so terrible i had to. We were really hyped for that one as we really liked the fleur room which we attended one day before. Basically we had to wait in line for 1 hour to be told we had a min consumtion of 300$ without a table (Per person of course). Went in got charged for our jackets. We then wen straight to the restrooms where the next insane line was waiting for us. People with tables were queue jumping all the time and the staff was supporting them over the other guys basic needs, which is pretty insane imo. In general, the staff was partially really rude, which Ive never seen before in clubs of that category. We had to wait for very long for each drink and because of that did not reach our minimum. At the end we wanted to get some drinks because of that, but we didnt get them because it was 5:01 and the club owners are too greedy to support customers 1 min after official closing. All in all a terrible experience that I would never advise my worst enemy.
The staff and management are HORRIBLE! I rarely leave reviews, but my overall experience was so awful. The staff blatantly disrespected our group even though we had a table and tickets for my friends’ birthday. When I tried speaking to a manger, he refused to address his staff or compensate us for the tickets. I will NOT be returning and suggest you find another event space for birthdays, celebrations, etc.
Worst door experience ever. My girls and I were ignored by the bouncer, had to wait for the doorman Richard who let us wait for 40min just ti end up telling us the table is full. It’s ok to have regulations I definitely respect that but to ignore us when you know we’re waiting for this specific table and there has been communication that we are the next ones to get in? The bouncer could’ve also just asked us if we would like to get a tab instead of acting as we were air and let ppl in behind us.
I am extremely disappointed in my experience at Somewhere Nowhere. I was with a group of 12 girls and one of my friends wouldnt scan. She is 25 and has a real id. When we asked them to rescan the bouncers wouldn’t, giving us a problem for no reason. They were rude, disrespectful and this was a blatant discriminatory action. Disappointed to say the least. I will never, ever step foot in the club again. It is heartbreaking reading these reviews knowing that this isn’t the first time this has happened and nothing is being done about it. It is 2022, wake up people. These actions need consequences, period.
Ive never seen such a mismanaged place. We bought bottles at the rooftop and went downstairs to change the view and one of the tall security guy tried to deny us without entry and didnt want to hear anything we were saying. Later on we managed to resolve the problem with a waitress but this absolutely ruined my night.
We purchased tickets for the 4th of July for four drinks and called ahead of time to confirm we would have access to the rooftop since we wanted to see fireworks. We were assured on the phone we would have access, which is why we made the reservation and purchased our tickets. We arrive on the day, and our friend was denied entry because of her footwear (she was wearing designer sandals) meanwhile people were being let in with literal dirty flip flops, denim shorts, and dirty sneakers. The man kept trying to explain that it’s a safety hazard to have open toes, but when it’s a heel it’s fine? Make it make sense? The only explanation I can think of is that this was racially motivated, and we are not white and blonde. They made her go back and change her shoes which is already a ridiculous, finally we get inside to a very angry elevator guard practically yelling at people to get in the elevators. We are then informed we do not have access to the rooftop, and the people on the phone dont know how to do business. I don’t understand what kind of establishment this is where they don’t even know what’s what, and how they are running this place. We basically wasted our time and money since we could not even get to the rooftop, and put a damper on our night even before it started because of the ridiculous footwear situation. Will never return here, and I recommend you don’t either. They might deny you for wearing strappy shoes, and let another blonde girl stroll in with dirty flip flops. It’s 2022, and there is no need to spend your money at a establishment committed to giving you a bad night and experience. There are plenty of better places in Manhattan welcoming to POCs.
One of the worst nightclub experiences youll ever have. The staff here are extremely rude and discriminatory. The bouncers picked out the only black person in our friend group and made her wait outside in the rain as they continued to let in several other groups of (non-black) people without any valid explanation. The bouncers told us that everyone in our friend group were allowed to enter the club except for our one friend they singled out . We later discovered that this club in particular even has a reputation and history for discriminating against black individuals, more particularly if you are darker-skinned. The saddest part is that they know they can get away with it because its a predominantly Caucasian environment where many are willing to turn a blind eye to such behavior. A disgusting place ran by prejudice people. More people should speak up when they witness things like this, dont be the reason the staff continue to get away with it
No, just no. I don’t think this club will survive the test of time because everyone that has been here at least once will never come back. They’ll attract a lot of first timers because it’s a new club but first impressions are everything.A lot of ppl are made to wait long times in line (over 1 hour), and by the time they get in they are agitated af. You can sense it in the air and see it on their face. Not only was it torture to wait, but the bartenders aren’t that fast either. Forget hydrating with a water after standing in line for an hour. Nobody is dancing here, ppl are just on their phones taking selfies, on ig, and giving free marketing to swnw. It’s such a weird vibe. It’s a club, dance! Have fun! Nope, not a living soul was getting loose.Later in the night I saw a familiar friend at a VIP table and was invited for a drink. The bouncer didn’t let me enter that section despite my friend asking him several times and later waving me in. Ok nvm.Umm what else, it was crowded with young ppl but low quality if you know what i mean. Girls are beautiful though but you can smell the vanity. Men are just gross. Why are women subjected to a certain beauty standards at the door but ugly sweaty men are allowed in? Ew.
In 2022, I went to make a reservation for my wife’s birthday, and the promoter said “That day we will be having our pool party from 2pm-7pm. Kindly, tell me how many men/women will be joining you so I can better assist.” In 2022, you really should be doing better than that. This NYC, not a frat.
This is a warning review -The British door guy let me and my husband in if we agreed to have a $150 bar tab. This was fine with me since I knew I was paying for the rooftop experience so I agreed and signed off on a little card they had filled out for me.Music was good but it got overly packed inside and there were people spilling drinks and bumping into us so we left after about an hour and had 2 drinks each. When I asked for the receipt there were 10 drinks on there for $320 and I told the bartender that this wasnt me. He wouldnt adjust the receipt and would not give my ID or credit card back until I signed.I tried to talk to some of the door guys at the front and one of them told me to dispute it with my bank and another guy told me that it would make sense tomorrow - What??I tried to tell them that I was coherent and knew exactly what was happening. They became aggressive and then later brushed me off.I tried reaching out to them on their IG page and they said they did a full investigation and that you drank all of those drinks. - Again, Whatt???? I just told you that I had a total of 4 drinks and was happy to pay the $150 even though we didnt get the full amounts worth of drinks.Anyway, just expect to pay $300 for 4 drinks at this place. Also, they never even allowed anyone access to the rooftop that evening... It was a waste of money and I was disrespected multiple times.Be weary!_______________________________________________________________UPDATE AFTER THEY ASKED ME TO CONTACT THEM:I sent two emails and they just gave me the same answer as the person handling their IG page - They dont actually care to make this right. He offered me drink tickets instead on my next visit- WEIRD! Just give me my money back and stop this scam.
Somewhere Nowhere Nightclub offers one of the most unique experiences in NYC which, hands down, everyone should see. Management did a perfect job balancing a lounge environment (with amazing décor) - integrated with the latest nightclub sound and lighting technology. Somewhere Nowhere draws top international DJs who play in a DJ booth which is so up close and personal - you wont believe it! I had a very special request which management was open to listening to and then went completely overboard to accommodate. Bravo to this amazing team!
DO NOT GO HERE WHATEVER YOU DO. It is small, overpriced and the staff is BEYOND RUDE AND HORRIBLE!!!!!!!! They make u stand in line even after you have paid a premium for ur tickets to enter, music is sub-par and they make u check ur coat for another premium whether u like it or not. Ive never had such a harrowing experience at a club we left after 30 minutes because we were so upset by our entry experience and of how awful and disgusting the staff treated us - also there was no outside space open, as advertised. GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE!!!!!
Bouncer scanned 5 times in a row to say I can’t let you in your ID doesn’t work when the first time light was green.I do have a real ID driving license from NYSHe did that only to me because I wasn’t skinny enough. I was with a promoter and a nice group of girls but the fat one in the middle couldn’t weirdly get in.Showed my passport said I need an ID that I can scan ?Since when ??When two French girls were able to get in in front of me with their passport …
I came on a monday with a private event. It was a nice decor. I got in fine, was afraid because of reading all the comments. Otherwise venue was okay, its like a regular rooftop. Good place for networking. However No 5 stars because I guess my crew didnt want to dance lol. Or there was very little space to dance? wish the dj hype it up hahah
I see a lot of racial things about this place in the reviews and that was my experience. Dude at the door told me and my black friends we were dressed too casual while white people who had jeans on were allowed to get in. I asked the guy why the double standard and he flat out told me people getting in was according to his discretion and clearly the difference was we were black . I can’t believe it’s 2022 and this is still happening in New York City of all places . I understand if a place has a strict dress code but it should be enforced to everyone whether you are white , black or any race . With that being said this has to be a place to avoid in the city because honestly I’m in shock this is happening in 2022.
There’s a reason for the streaks of 1 stars here. Please believe me when I say the whole club scene is a fraud/joke. Especially if you see them on ig and such. I also understand that each club has their own set of rules, etc. I think my disdain for this particular place came from several times I kinda ran into the owner, manager, and some of their associates. I know that they get busy but they have a very huge ego, and when I say huge it’s huge. Maybe trying to make up for something smaller? The owner/manager here was extremely rude to my gf when we tried to say goodnight to him on our way out. Usually when I exit a club at other places I’m actually wished a “hey man thanks for coming in and spending $10k, have a great night” handshake from the manager if he’s there. I know customer service isn’t an owner’s forte but showing some kind respect to my gf and I would have made for a better impression on paying customers. Hell, even walmart greeters say “have a nice day”. What he did was the opposite. He pushed my gf out of the way in order to get to the elevators first and closed the elevator doors on us. Lol… ok mister big shot who doesn’t share elevator rides with peasants.
Straight up worst club in nyc. Think they’re hype but DJs have been absolutely lacking recently. Last summer they played some very decent tunes, everyone vibing ect. Recently they have been playing garbage (like not at all the music you wanna hear at a club). Last DJ played ONLY rap. Like yea we’re down to hear a couple of rap songs but we wanna dance too. People come here to dance. We can listen to rap any other time. We come here to groove and this club doesn’t do it for ppl who are trying to dance. Too expensive for what it is. If you wanna dance go to acme. This place is garbage.Somewhere Nowhere if you’re reading this, vet your DJs if you wanna stay alive.
A place for sad mid town men, and tourists who’ve got too much money with no where to go. Every staff member seems obligated to be in a hostile mood. Being expensive does not equate to being exclusive. If you feel like being treated as a bother this is your spot. Although , I wasn’t into it.
This establishment is extremely racist and I will never be returning. If you are black and darker than a paper bag I would not suggest you come here. Raul the bouncer gave me about 4 different excuses as to why he would not let me in after 4 of my friends were already inside and we were apart of a table. I will never give this place the time of day again and I hope you hold your employees accountable for their disgusting behavior. Happy Black History Month to me.
This establishment is so discriminative it’s not even funny, I would’ve given it zero stars but that wasn’t an option. Never will I ever step foot next to this venue again. Had VIP tickets, that were sold to 2000 people, when the capacity is 400 people. The security guards told us this information. I will never again financially support somewhere nowhere.
Had dinner in the igloo on the roof, this part was great. Then I asked for the bathroom, and STAFF told me to go downstairs. There happened to be a private event there, but this is where the bathroom is. I was INSIDE the bathroom when this insane woman part of the staff started banging on the door like she lost her mind and asked me to exit the private event. I said sure... I just need to wash my hands and your staff directed me to this bathroom. She insisted I needed to leave without washing my hands. This is against basic sanity protocols and its just GROSS. I dont know if this is how this establishment is run but AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
I was waiting for my girlfriend that was at the bathroom and some employee of the bar called MICHAEL asked me for my drink receipt and I didnt have it because who saves the receipt of a drink in a bar. He started to tell us that we had to leave and started pushing us towards the elevator.Besides he kicked us with no reason he strongly pushed my girlfriend to the elevator. I suggest not going in there because that employee is violent with the customers. Horrible experience. VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN IS INTOLERABLE
We had a reservation at 9PM, we arrived 8:15PM and we has to wait 1 hour and a half to get in to an empty place. They sat us down to a table with drinks and bucket of ice, (kind of forcing you to get a bottle) but we end up having a drink and left. Very weird setup, dont waste your time
COMPLETE SCAM. LMAO. I’ve been to tons of bars and clubs in NYC and I can honestly say that if I could give ZERO stars I would. They make you buy a ticket online just to waste your time and tell you at the door to get a refund in the morning even early in the night. Literally do not recommend whatsoever. Save your money and go to a place that has some class because this place is just not it. 0/100000 would NOT recommend. Absolutely horrible experience.
Ordered a round of cocktails for a friend of mine then chilled at the bar sipping my drink and minding my own business. A bouncer approached me and asked me to come with him. I asked him why and before I knew it he placed me in a submission hold and dragged me all the way to the elevator. I asked him then why Im getting ejected and he refused to answer my question.
Worst “night club” in the city . They let minors with fake ID get in the club , we bought tickets for a techno party, they didn’t let us in because we where not white and blonde. Our tickets expired at midnight they told us that it was passed the time, it was 11:30 . Don’t waste your time and money there . The hosts are the door are the worst!!!!!
Garbage service the girls are practically air heads they can’t serve tables for their lives I waited an hour for someone to come around while the people we came in with already had their food and drinks and were finishing up LOL don’t come here and waste your time the pool is a little box and is mediocre along with the tiny menu it’s a shame because the place itself has potential but sucks . I walked right out and told them the service is garbage
The club is neat looking and small. But they don’t publish set times and it’s infuriating. I came to see a show and I was super excited to see the head liner. The doors opened at 9 and so I knew the headliner wouldn’t probably go on till at least 11 or 12. I went through all their social media post, their whole website, and all things associated with with the head liner. No where does it say when he goes on. I got to the club at 9.30 to just try and get a good spot near the front. The first opener played for 2 hours and the second guy seemed to have another 2 hour set list. I would not of come in I’ll 12 if I knew this. Like it’s so annoying. Ended up leaving before the headliner even came on because he probably wasn’t going on till 1 or maybe even 2. How hard is it to say when certain performers are coming on.
Probably the largest wine bar Ive been to in New York, NY. The venue is easily over 5000 square feet filled with wine after wine. Press Bar is very much specialized in wine. So much so, that there is only wine served at this place; no beer nor cocktail. Come here if you would appreciate a good glass or bottle of wine. I went here on a Friday night with two other friends. I would give four stars because it took about 30 minutes until server came to our table. However, good ambience, good crowd, and of course good wine :9
Horrible place, my daughter was on vacation in New York for a day and she was so excited to go to this place went here and dropped her phone behind the couch and Nik refused to help her and they kept her phone. She was begging for it back and explained to them she had no way to get back to the hotel or back here. I was worried sick the next day because she had not contacted me until 2pm why did you guys keep her personal belongings and treat my daughter like that? This is not a safe place for girls.my daughter goes out all the Time she loves trying new places and advertising them. She has never been mistreated like this. Extremely upset as a mother imagine if this was your child being mishandled for NO REASON.
If I could give them a 0 I would. Absolutely terrible service. Forced our group to wait in line for an hour, passed us over and let the people behind us in then told us the guys in our group would have to pay a $150 bar minimum if we wanted to come in (the people behind us didn’t have to pay). We were excited to come here but will never be coming back and recommend no one else waste their time. Plenty of other welcoming and fun clubs in the area. Don’t waste your time or money.
I am the type of person to only post and promote business in a good way. I went to New York for two days for a breather because i work over 40 hours a week and go to school but instead had a horrible weekend. Never thought I would be mistreated like this especially by their very own HOSPITALITY MANAGER he clearly doesn’t know anything about hospitality I have worked in this industry for 8 years and never have my managers treated anyone close to this. This happened on 1/16 Not to mention I called the police and he came back with the other girls phone but not mine. I still to this day haven’t heard anything from management and I have sent out plenty of emails because it is not a cheap phone at all and there is no reason for them to keep my belongings.
Literally terrible. Not worth your time. Absolutely horrific service. Booked a table in advanced and was forced to wait in line for an hour. Meanwhile, they let other people pass us and the people behind us in. The group of 4 next to us had to pay a bar minimum of 200. While for us 3 we had to pay a minimum of 350.This place is SO discriminatory there was an obvious pattern as to who they decided to let in versus the ones who were forced to wait.DJ was ok, will never go here again. I am actually traumatized.
I saw some pictures of the place, I called them to make a reservation and I was told that I don’t need one since they accept also walk in people. Perfect! Me and my husband went there, they saw us, I precise this, they saw what we were wearing 😅 put to our hands the fluo green band, so we where just waiting to go upstairs but when we told them that just wanna drink, they said “sorry but we don’t accept people with shorts”… and took us off the hand bands… 🤣 could it be more ridiculous?? Maybe yes, if you would have seen what the lady was wearing 🙄🙄Maybe I could have bought a champagne bottle, maybe not, but you can’t judge people like this… just embarrassing 🤦🏼♀️
I absolutely LOVED this space. A few of my coworkers and I decided to have some happy hour drinks and picked Somewhere Nowhere as a great rooftop spot. The views are INSANE. We were there on a Thursday evening when the sun was setting and it couldn’t have been a better way to get back into the swing of after work happy hours again in the city. The cocktails were super fresh and vibrant but you can also opt for a simple glass of wine. We mainly stayed on the rooftop because of the nice weather. Would def go back!
I should have read the reviews before going. We went to the door because tickets online were at $40 but the reservation windows was closed. There, they tried to get us to open a $200 per person minimum bar tab. They negotiated at $150 and we accepted because there was nowhere else to go that day and we were already there, but then there were lots of hidden charges like 8% administrative fee, tax and 20% tip (the barman included it without even asking about it) so they ended up charging us more than $220. They retained the credit card holders ID until the end of the night, which is illegal. They were also really rude everywhere. Even in the bathroom you had two security guys marking the way with a flashlight and controlling access, one by one. Strange. The view and the DJ were good, its a shame the vibe isnt.
Had a small group of friends go out for my birthday at Somewhere Nowhere and what a night! I made a reservation and was easily able to make it upstairs (would recommend as there seems to typically be a line). The views are stunning on the top floor and make a great backdrop for group pics. We spent most of our time on the first level, which had amazing music and really nice atmosphere. Would highly recommend for any type of birthday celebration.
Dont get a table here. They upped our minimum due to additional headcount then the front door wouldnt let those people up. We got there early and were forced to meet our minimum on arrival, so had to buy a bunch of bottles at like 5pm? Not to mention the main DJ advertised never played and we were denied roof access despite flyers advertising it. Management werent willing to work with us on resolving any of these issues either during or after the fact.
Absolutely terrible. I have never left a review of a place before but after last night, this couldn’t be left alone. The workers are incredibly racist, the food is abysmal, and the view is nothing short of mediocrity. I cannot believe an establishment like this even exists…I will be taking my business elsewhere and I encourage everyone to do the same. It is so bad I give it a one because I can’t give it a zero.
This place is a great mega club new mega club with creative ownership but Im here to leave a review for the bartender I had during a friends bday last night. I asked for a G+T and I gave a $20, the bartender said $22, so I gave him $30 because I didnt have change. As I waited for change to leave him his tip, the guy never came back with change. I stood there like I was crazy and I was like okay...... I guess he just decided to give himself an $8 tip. didnt make much of it in the moment but kinda messed up the more I think about it.He was a white male in his 30s/40s with a clean beard/mustache combo working around 1030 on Morten night.Managers, is this typical of your bartenders....?
DEF FAVE lounge in New York. The best city views and they just launched the most insta-worthy igloo cocktail and dining experience on their rooftop. Innovative and fun drinks thatll make you wanna share on your stories! The nightclub also has great events with your fave DJs throughout the year. Will be bringing all my friends!
Heard this was the hot new spot so I took my friends from out of town to party! Prices seemed fair compared to other rooftops and the food and drinks were awesome. We felt like we were at an actual concert when the DJ set started. My friends loved it too and I’m happy that this was one of their first impressions of city life.
While the views are amazing, they are about the only thing to like about this place. We had a 9:00 pm reservation for the roof. Upon arrival, we’re told the roof is closed due to an earlier rain storm (was a beautiful day and night, with a pop up shower several hours earlier). When we finally waited long enough, they let us on the roof. Of course there were other people on the roof and the bar was open. The table came with a $150 minimum, which was fine for our party of 6. However, about half way through our first cocktail, we were told it was last call (9:40 pm) and the roof would be closing at 10:00. By 10:00 there were managers kicking everyone off the roof. We asked if we could go down stairs, but alas that was closed as well, not to reopen until 11 pm. Several groups around us were also displaced and left to find a more accommodating place to spend the rest of their Friday night. After waiting for the elevator, about 5 employees packed in with our group of 6 and chatted like we weren’t even there. In some, we were able to enjoy less than an hour of our reservation here. Almost everyone was rude.Don’t waste your time.
Me and my boyfriend were on our way to the place for our 7:45 pm reservation on Tuesday night, when at the door at about 7:40pm I saw an email that came in at 7:30pm saying that my reservation has been cancelled (!!), although I DID NOT CANCEL IT. I asked security guy downstairs about it, and he told me that it might got canceled because they’re having a private event and suggested to go in to talk to the host at the check in. The host asked if I cancelled my reservation, I told her that I haven’t. After waiting for a bit they got us seated at the rooftop terrace where in fact was no private events. The overall service with our waitress was nice, and we enjoyed our drinks and great views, although the cancellation situation got us frustrated. Today I am realizing that my card got charged $100 - cancellation fee ($50/person). Looking at the other reviews I see that it looks like a common scam at this place, which is very sad. I’m leaving this review just so that everyone else can be aware.
Blatant discrimination. They go above an beyond to create arbitrary policies, on the fly, to refuse service to black people. People who have already paid for reservations.Do not give these people your money! SHAME on the black people at the door who willingly let these people use them to do their dirty work. Horrible. SHAME on Marriott for endorsing this place. IT SHOULD NOT be included on the hotel’s website.
Went here with 3 of my girlfriends and one of their boyfriends. We had a reservation for a table. Wish I had read the reviews before going. First, when we showed up they asked my friend’s boyfriend if he was a promoter. After reading all the other reviews on this place and their racial discrimination we think it was because he was an African American with 4 white women. Then we get upstairs and get to our table. Ordered a bottle of tequila & a bottle of champagne. Not an hour into getting there and they said we would need to get up from the table in 30 mins because the shift change and they had reservations later that night. Made no sense… I thought we had a table for the night, nobody said there was a time limit and we dropped $2K and couldn’t even finish our beverages. Total rip off and definitely a shady night club. The hype isn’t real.
Horrible experience . My friend and I came out on a Friday night to have a few drinks around 9pm. They let us in line and asked if we had a reservation multiple times. We said no all those times. They still made us wait then after 40 minutes of waiting told us we could only go up if we purchased $100 worth of drinks each. I agreed and gave them my card and ID. After waiting 15 more minutes the host (some man with a fake French accent and Pringles can mustache) told us we could not get in because they are switching to a night club . This made no sense at all but it did make sense that my friend and I were the only people of color on the line at the moment. They should be careful who they stereotype and turn away. I would never try to come here again. Also my 100k followers will know about this as well
Horrible experience. We had a reservation for a table Sunday at 5:00pm on the roof. We arrive and are told there is a private party and we cant go up. Everyone was impossibly mean and downright cruel. Would offer no way of apology or to make the situation right. Ended up eating on the 38th floor which was empty and overpriced. I tried to contact the venue several times before writing this and they ignored my messages. So many better rooftops in this city.
Pros: DJ was legit, quality sound system, decor is well done.Cons: lines to get in were awful, and just a total scene with some of the fakest people you’ll ever see. Not really the venue’s fault—I guess lost souls need to be catered to as well. That said, this is definitely where lost souls come to ‘party.’If you have any respect for yourself, you’ll spend your precious time in this life somewhere else.
Was very disappointed restaurant cancelled reservation 3 hours before we were supposed to arrive due to them having an event. Caused me a significant logistical issue and would have been appreciated to have had more advanced notice. Every other nightlife spot was fully booked so would have been nice to have had enough time to figure things out.
They first said that there is no entry .And people sstood in the general admissions line they asked for 2000$ per person.i mean seriously?!!!!!!I texted and asked just yesterday and confirmed how to make reservation.I mean what is this.?Bad management. And i think they are kind of partial and may just bluff u with different rates depending on appearance. They select people and just allow them.People who look rich they automatically let them in.Very partial
We went to Somewhere Nowhere on a Friday night to see MK. We enjoyed our experience a lot and while it was expensive, it was worth it.Some comments from the negative reviews are fair; hopefully this helps provide some context for some of the commentary. It’s Not Cheap, But It’s Worth It: It’s not cheap, even with tickets. For people who said it cost a $200 bar tab at the door, that’s what tickets cost ahead of time (earlier on they were $150, there’s also fees and stuff [sigh]), so be aware of the price before you go. Ours included five drinks, so if you’re thinking $20 for a drink, the cover’s effectively $50 at $150 all in. If you want a $20-50 cover, this isn’t for you: it’s not a huge place, they know they can charge a lot and there’s enough demand to keep the prices high. If you want to pay $20-50 to get in, I hear ya, (me, too), but if your budget allows for this place, it’s worth it and you’ll have a good time.Getting In Is a Challenge: It’s Not a Huge Place and The Elevator is a Major Bottleneck: Getting in is definitely a challenge, even with tickets. We were waiting for a long time. The line moves slowly and people’s impatience outside after waiting for a while (which I totally understand) and countless promoters trying to move to the front with large groups creates a fair amount of chaos outside. The line moves slowly because it’s a rooftop club that is dependent on an elevator. If you want a view of the city from inside of the city, you need to be on a rooftop. Unless you want to walk up 30+ flights of stairs, you need to take an elevator. So, a slow line as 7-8 people go up an elevator at a time is just the cost of doing business. It is what it is. The club also never felt overpacked, so they probably managed the capacity which likely slowed the line, too.We Had A Great Time Inside: Upstairs, we didn’t have a table, were just on the floor, which was perfectly fine. The bar service was super fast and efficient; the bartenders killed it. The fast bartenders meant that refills only took us away from the show for a short bit. The dance floor was crowded, but good crowded; no spearing elbows, no stepping on toes, just pleasantly packed. It’s absolutely beautiful inside. High ceilings, tons of lights and effects, beautiful décor throughout the club including a huge hummingbird hanging from the ceiling and lots of beautiful decorative foliage. The views outside are amazing, including a straight shot view of the Empire State Building. Because the club wasn’t enormous, we were always close to the DJ booth with great lines of sight. The opening DJ and MK were both awesome. The outdoor area was closed off at night, which was a little bit of a bummer. The bathroom is behind the DJ booth and coed, so expect to fight your way through the crowd and then wait a bit in line for the bathroom; it was a little annoying, but tolerable.Overall, we had a great time. Even with the ordeal outside, we still had a blast and we’d do it again.
I went to this place with a friend around Friday midnight. While waiting in line, we overheard the staff told other parties that it would be $150 minimum spending per person at the bar. When it came to us, the staff told us it would $200 per person for us. Fine, we accepted that.We eventually only spent $195 in drinks, far below $400. So the bartender asked if we’d like tequila shots. We asked her to get one too. It turned out 3 tequila shots were $210. It’s fine because we agreed to pay $400 anyway. But we also got charged an 8% administration fee on top of $405. We were not informed there’s this fee and it was not reasonable. It’s nonsense!By the way, the final tax also included tax from this 8% administration fee. When you see a place’s rating is low. It’s actually really low.Update 9/20/2021:I wanted to reply to the owner’s comment. I did call your club and sent the initial email to the same address you mentioned on 9/4. I got no response so I sent a follow-up email on 9/6. This time a person named Nora replied saying she was looking into it and would get back to me shortly. However, I have NOT got any update since. Hence, please don’t say “CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE IS A HIGH PRIORITY HERE”!Update 10/12/2021:Nora, the office manager, finally replied on 10/7 saying that before the guests enter the venue, they have to sign an envelope stating that there’s the 8% admin fee. I believe her. But I actually didn’t see it, probably because it’s not printed in bold or large font and it’s easy to be overlooked. No one verbally reminded me there’s admin fee. After all, I still don’t think it’s reasonable to charge admin fee. Because there’s minimum spending, the alcohol prices are already jacked up and customers tip as well.
If I can rate this place 0 stars I would. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! No other words to describe this place. Do not bother purchasing a pre ticket or bottle service you literally sill have to wait in line. I pre purchased a ticket which was pointless waiting in line with general admission literally people who had no tickets. If you don’t know anyone in there a club promoter or a bar tender or the DJ you are not getting in. I can’t believe they run this place like this. Never going back! And upscale dress is hilarious there was literally people in sandals in there.
Amazing venue, I had my partners Anthonys birthday there and the panoramic views of the are to die for. The service and staff is very friendly and quick. It does get packed up, but the crowd and music is great. I would recommend this venue for a birthday celebration or just a night out
Best sound best light show for a rooftop club in the city. Please correct me if I’m wrong . I love the food. The truffle fries (OmG) The staff is all very nice. I know people get frustrated at the door but the police hold 400 people. If there’s 1500 people outside trying to get in well you do the math. Have a table booked or have a plan when you get there for a big DJ event. I wouldn’t just stroll up you might be disappointed if you don’t get in. Friendly advice.
One of the BEST rooftop & lounge places in NY!!! You absolutely will love this place and will never want to leave or will die to come back!!The place, the venue, their staff, the drinks, the VIEW are the best and are beyond amazing!! If you want to experience this all at best, this is the place you have to go. PERIOD.
Horrible service, staff very unpleasant to female customers ! They don’t even deserve one star. Stole items from one of their customers and still have not returned them till this day. They allow the employees to talk to the guests any type of way. I can’t even reiterate how horribly their service and management is. Do not go here.
Terrible experience as soon as my friends and I entered we were given side eyes by the bouncer, bartender and staff. We figured it was because we didn’t pregame that we were a little on edge. Got some drinks and my friend and I had about half of a drink before someone told that the bartender has laced the drinks. We went to find someone who could help (wrong choice of action) the “manager” brought security to us under false pretenses, they weren’t going to help. These were big tall men basically hoarding 3 petite women to the back stairs like sheep. They said to us that we would become a liability if we died inside the club and that we were not allowed back in unless we gave the bouncer $150 per person. Please just don’t come here.it is very dangerous, the club staff knows that bartenders are lacing their drinks. I was sick from a half a drink for the next 24 hours. And they racially profile and scam people into giving them more money.
Had an amazing time last week! The views impeccable, the hospitality was friendly / inviting, and the music production is some of the best in the city. Its a great place for an intimate time with your friends whether its the club level or the rooftop. Highly recommend any day of the week!!
We reserved and paid $2k for a table of 6 for Saturday night show. Doorman let me in and then asked to see my friends, after I pointed them out, I was told they “oversold” the tables and we could not be let in. When I challenged the management because my friends were the only black people in line, I was told “entry was at their discretion and I would be refunded my money” I have no refund, no entry, no tolerance for their blatant discrimination. Marriott should be ashamed to even have them affiliated with their brand.
These people are MEAN. Wow. We had a reservation for 8:30, and as we were driving over, we got an email at 8:20 saying our reservation was canceled. We thought it was just some kind of mistake, so we came anyway. When we got there, the woman in front of us was asking about her reservation and was literally being cussed at by the doorman who looked like Pitbull. When we finally got up to the front of the line, Pitbull told us that all the reservations made online had been canceled. The only way to make a reservation was to make one with him in person…which defeats the point of making a reservation. While this was happening, the club promoter (a man with a fake French accent) was ushering in single women who had no reservations. The doorman then told us that we could get in if we paid $600 for bottle service. We had made a reservation to just have dinner, and now Pitbull was saying dinner was over (it wasn’t) and it was just bottle service now. We turned around and left (along with almost every other person that was in line who was told the same thing we were.)Basically if you show up, the doorman will decide if he feels like letting you in or not. For a place that only had about 5 people in line, they sure acted like everyone was clamoring to get inside. It’s VERY obvious that this place is trying to seem exclusive. It functions like a snobby club in LA.To top it all off, they still charged us the $100 cancelation fee even though THEY were the ones who canceled our reservation. I called my credit card company to get the charge taken off. It’s clear that this place is struggling to get people inside so they’re counting on making their money through manipulating people into bottle service and charging people without their knowledge. This place is shady and tacky. Stay away.
This place could be great, but my experience was that they were highly disorganized, hence the 1 star. I had a reservation for 7 pm and it was a mess trying to figure out how to check in to let them know we were present (because if you don’t show up you get charged $50/person). There is a line full of people to get in (most of whom also had reservations I think…) and then there were people who cut the line who did not have reservations 🤷🏻♀️. It took me asking 4 different people how to check in and ended up waiting in line until 7:20 pm. At that point we were brought up to our table which was missing 2 chairs… you would think that a party of 5 would need 5 spaces to sit. I don’t plan on going back to this place simply because the staff seemed to have no idea what was going on and the whole operation was messy. Definitely not worth it in my opinion. If you do go, plan on waiting for no reason.
Absolutely terrible. Yes, the views are amazing but service and hospitality is at 0!To start, we came with a group of 5, and my buddy had a backpack which isnt allowed to the roof. Mind you this is Manhattan majority of the people attending that are coming from work will have some sort of luggage with them. When we asked where we could check it in, or keep it the bouncer gave us a confused look like figure it out Luckily we figured it out.Moving on to the roof top, we saw few people with backpacks which surly blew our mind.Again, amazing views, our night turned to somewhat fun till we got a bill for $1,300 for 8 drinks. We surly expected few hundred but not over $1K!They automatically charged us $660 minimum fee which was never listed on their reservation or their site. In addition they charged an admin fee of $72.00Of course, we would argue that. I had to pull the im reporting this to BBB for the manger to show up 18 minutes later. We missed an entire dinner reservation for this dumb shi**.In addition they tried to argue the admin fee I asked kindly please explain this charge and no one had an answer and of course they had to refund it.Over all, you want good views, go to Jimmy at the james, Mr. Purple, or even refinery which is near by for a good view, but save your time and money from these fools.Highly recc, DO NOT GO!
I think the 5 star reviews are fake. The staff is extremely rude, the food and drinks are overpriced. This is definitely one of those pretentious spots and if you’re not young, petite, and blonde please be prepared to be turned away. Listen, I get it. They want a certain type of aesthetic to please a certain of male clientele. But there’s much better Rooftops.
Let me tell you about my experience. We got in line at 10:15. The security said there’s no wait so we said cool we’ll chill outside for a bit. We got back in line at 10:25 and was the second group in order. They held the line until 11. We reached the front and the promoter said it’s $200 per person bar tab or minimum $1500 tables only. That’s a no from me dawg. They’re definitely trying too hard.
Our first night out in a loooong time on account of COVID and Sarah and Jenny treated us so nicely! I was expecting it to be one of those stuck-up clubs you often see in NYC, but I was so pleasantly surprised! Good people, good times, good food, good music! Highly recommend!
Went there a few times last week when I visited NYC and i have nothing but positive things to say about this place. Everyone was so nice and hospitable. I went there after work and it was such a relaxing atmosphere. The club gets pretty packed that Thursday and Saturday - the DJs keep the place going through the whole night for sure!
I had an 830pm reservation on Fri Jul 16 and waited for 1.5 hours and never got in. The bouncer continued to let others in beside my friend and me. Finally we walked away - humiliated. To make matters worse, they charged my card a $100 no show fee. Absolutely unbelievable. I called and got a full refund and will email the manager to make another complaint. Will never recommend this place to anyone.
I went to Somewhere Nowhere a couple weeks ago for a night out with my friends, and it was one of the best times I’ve had in a while! The highlight of my night was definitely a surprise performance by Diplo. The crowd’s excitement, the lights and sound were all amazing.
A complete scam. Not only did they mischarge us, they did so twice, found us on the dance floor (talk about tacky) and charged use a third time to make up for their mistakes. They then proceeded to leave a 230% tip (which I can guarantee after the poor service we didnt leave). This is fraudulent. And mind you, they arent spending that extra money on the decorations and the TJ MAXX flower garden above fell on the dance floor while we were there. If you made it past those two red flag and still choose to go, make sure to show up with a few drinks if your system already before you pay $30 for rubbing alcohol in a plastic cup.
I believe this place couldnt be any worse. Absolutely discriminatory, unprofessional and rude personnel, selling tickets and afterwards not permitting people coming in. I could evidence how the bouncers tried to strangle a guy out of nowhere, I strongly recommend every person who read this opinion DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE IT IS DANGEREOUS.
Terrible service, strategy, and operations. Waited in line for 1 hr to see everyone get turned away due to “doorman’s discretion” at 10pm. This place superficially makes it seem like they have a following by making the crowd wait in line.Feedback for management: 1) Train your staff on people etiquette 2) Be transparent 3) Communication amongst doormen was uncoordinated - consider purchasing hand held communication devices 4) Commit to honoring table service 5) Discrimination is an illegal practice 6) Good luck operating in this manner
Giving Somewhere Nowhere five stars for its spaciousness and cleanliness. With COVID on the rise again I appreciate that the venue doesn’t have a lot of touch points. It felt nice to go to a popular spot with enough room that I wasn’t bumping into people every five seconds.
Poor management. If you have an issue during your time there, be prepared to get blatantly ignored by management. They don’t give a single duck. It’s a waste of time trying to get ahold of a manager and get your point across because once again they do NOT care.Nik P sucks.
Want to be disrespected? Want to be touched by SECURITY? Come here! This place acts like theyre the hottest place in town but in reality its small, smelly, musty and dusty. The security guards are TOUCHY for no reason. Witnessed a security guard move a group of girls with his body and hands when the girls were just standing on line. If you need the line to move back, use your words and hand gestures. These girls were not rowdy. There is no need for you to put your hands and body parts on them. They left the line right after and said Im not going to stand here and be touched. The people at the door are rude and useless. No one knows what theyre doing and its a hot mess. In all of my years of going to multiple venues Ive never seen something as disorganized as this place. Save your time and go elsewhere. The tables here are pathetic and the crowd is trashhhh.
STAY AWAY from this horrible business. I bought a table here for the 4th of July party -- 1) despite being promised to be able to access the roof by managers and advertisements, we were only able to access the club level. 2) The main act for the night (DJ Walshy Fire) never played a set on the club level despite all the advertisements saying so 3) multiple of my friends that I paid for spent 2+ hours in line and decided to leave after never getting in. This was gross mismanagement on so many levels and left me with a massive bill and poor taste in my mouth. Ive been fighting the charge with my credit card company ever since. The management has been unwilling to speak with me despite reaching out multiple ways Do yourself a favor and go literally somewhere/ANYWHERE ELSE to party.
We would never come back. Came here with my friends, it was nice in the beginning but (1) music was really awful - dj was really wack being a dj. (2) they didn’t inform anyone that the club had two party times: before 10pm and after 10pm. Everyone was asked to leave at 10pm. And, when we were leaving and waiting for our Uber because of the freaking rain storm, like everybody else, everyone was asked to “keep moving” or “cross the street” and mind you, there was no rain coverage across the street. Pretty wack if you and your friends are soaking wet from the storm. THEY DID NOT TAKE CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. DELETED THEM ON MY STORIES AND WILL MOST DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO MY FRIENDS. Never coming back.
James was the worst promoter. Promised us way more than he delivered, and scammed us around $1700 for the night. We ended up paying all that for two bottles for him and his friends. When we tried talking to management, he got aggressive. 0/5. Don’t waste your money with him.
I was so excited to visit but super let down. After spending $800 at a table we left the bar for 10 minutes. We were all stamped and told we would be allowed to re enter. When we returned we weren’t allowed back in without paying an additional $150 per person. Bouncer was very unhelpful, will not be coming back again. This place is a scam
I did not know this place existed! Definitely an experience to be had. Came here with some friends for a chill Sunday. The staff was great and super helpful. They had a nice selection of appetizers, great cocktails and a gorgeous view of Manhattan. The best part was the amazing House music vibes during sunset. Sunday Funday at its finest. We will be back!
They discriminate (heads up black people), doing the run around to have you wait for an empty rooftop. Communication is terrible — It seems like everyone on the staff is on a different page, and what they say and do is different for every person (upon discretion). To top it off, when you finally get up to the rooftop, the vibe is terrible . Never again
This place def passed the VIBEE CHECKK. I always always have the most epic experience every time I go! The service is impeccable and I was especially impressed by how clean, careful and safe they were, most particularly in regards to covid. I witnessed someone reach and grab a cherry from the jar at the. bar and the bartender immediately whisked the jar away and disposed of it!! Cant wait to create even more fun experiences and Somewhere Nowhere!!
I don’t know how this place operates. It’s just marketed really well with gen z/Tik tok but I can’t see it surviving long. I’d give it 0 stars if I could. The service is terrible, but I’m more annoyed at how they handle lost & found. I left my prescription sunglasses, the following day I kept calling & no one ever got back to me. Don’t bother calling, they might as well cancel their line.I decided to stop by after work to inquire if someone had turned them in 1) while waiting in line - I was in scrubs after work and was judged based on work clothes 2) the door person/hostess or whatever it is they are texted his boss or the manager to see if sunglasses were ever turned in. The answer was no, I doubt they even looked. 3) He asked if I had a business card to leave because they refused to take my number down in case my prescription frames were turned in. I’m in scrubs after leaving a hospital job, do I look like I walk around with business cards? To top it off, this neighborhood is as shady as the restaurant. Don’t get scammed here, seems to be a common theme.
This is my new favorite spot to hangout in the city. they have one of the best sound systems, the BEST atomosphere & they bring in some amazing djs. Some aspiring & some headliners! Every time i’ve been there i’ve had an above and beyond experience. definitely a must when you’re in the city.
Never have been treated worse by any staff in my life. I was waiting for my Uber after spending so much money here and was verbally & almost physically attacked by the security. I’m scared for my life and will never be anywhere near this place again. Mind you I am a petite woman and am feared of a man who gets in my face screaming to get off of the public side walk.
It’s rare that an establishment is both incompetent and shady, but this place has both in spades.Double booked our table, and attempted to shove a 10 person group into the space between two other tables (couldn’t have sat more than 4). Told us we could cancel and not be charged the fee because they made the mistake. Charged us $500 the next day anyways.Also- don’t ask where the bathroom is- they’ll tell you they don’t know.
If I could give them 0 stars I would. Had a group waiting upstairs for me and they told me my ID was fake when it’s real. Finally someone proved my ID was real and the guy in the front (his name is Sammy) didn’t allow me in because I proved my ID was real. He came up with this exaggerated story that I yelled when that was never the case. Extremely unprofessional and rude. The reviews speaks for itself
Love everything about this place! The service is top notch and drinks are great. The rooftop offers incredible views of Manhattan with a classy lounge vibe. The main room Dj booth and bar make for an intimate, whimsical experience. Be ready to dance! Would highly recommend

2022-06-16The most beautiful rooftop Ive been to so far! Best views as well. Made a reservation on a Fr evening and got in almost instantly. DJ was there when we came. It was a bit slower music in the beginning, but it got more modern/classic hits in a few hours. Overall, we loved the music! Also, the cocktails were amazing! It looked a bit empty, but as I understood, it turns into a nightclub after 10 p.m.

2022-04-12I don’t understand the bad reviews. We went on a Saturday night for drinks and the service we received was amazing. From the coat check , to the lady who showed us our tables, to the service we received up top was nothing short of great. The music could’ve been better but that’s a matter of taste, and people looked like they were enjoying it so I can’t knock the techno. Drinks were good, the vibe and the view is breathtaking. I will definitely go back to this place in New York City

2022-06-17Nyc has no shortage of beautiful rooftop bars with great drinks and this one needs a lot more work on its drinks to make the cut. We ordered three cocktails and didnt like any which is pretty ridiculous. The arancini appetizer was pretty good. We went in the winter with the rooftop igloos which were very well decorated and cozy. But the wind on the rooftop was insane! We couldnt actually be outside for more than a few minutes at a time and the servers(who were very nice) were running to and from the kitchen in their winter coats! Lol. Id probably give them a try in the summer again if a lot of reviews mention their drinks getting better since the service from start to finish was pretty great and the view is pretty nice too.

2022-05-26Nice and cozy place to experience night life in New York. Well designed and colorful interior, great drinks and very unique guest musicians. Usually main event djs arrive after 12 am, so don’t rush to early. Very professional stuff and security.

2022-04-18Attended on a Friday night and was overwhelmed with drunk 20 year olds; one was seem vomiting outside the club yet noone told him or his friends to leave. Then get inside & coat check was mandated before we got upstairs to hear the 90s rap and R&B music; like Usher “Yeah”, are we at a bad sweet 16? Overpriced well drinks. Angle photos definitely make the place appear bigger than it actually is. A friend DJs here and it always looks great. Hoping for a better experience should I come back. Oh, great views!

2022-02-22This was my first time going to a club and I really enjoyed it! The views of the Empire State Building from the teardrop igloos are spectacular! My favorite drink was the Queen of Hearts. After the igloo, my friends and I went downstairs to the club and danced the night away!

2021-08-06We enjoyed our time here at somewhere nowhere. The cocktails are very good and the rooftop views are beautiful! Great to grab drinks with coworkers and friends and spend the afternoon into evening. Not sure why they have low stars, we enjoyed our evening!

2022-05-21We booked a table for two hours for lunch by the pool as the day was said to be particularly hot. The entrance was quite a hustle compared to how very very empty it was up at the roof. Only when we ordered and asked for a place to change in order to jump in the pool we were told it is not to be used today as there was no guard. The pool is not even hip deep and tiny (good job on the pictures). No one told us that after we made our reservation. None of the guest managers downstairs. Not even the waitress if we wouldn’t have asked. We could tell we where not the only people massively disappointed by this. Drinks are ok and food is uninspired and well over priced for the quality. pretty standard. Although it was super empty the waitress never came in time in order for us to ask for salt for the very bland guacamole. As she never came back with our card we went to pick it up ourselves. She simply forgot. If you are looking for a nice pool party ambience: not your place. Go to the Soho House instead. Complete disappointment

2021-08-26I want to say first and foremost that this review is based on being here during the day (around 6pm) and not for an event. We had cocktails on the 38th floor as we were told we needed a reservation for the 39th (the rooftop). No issue, we were just looking for some great craft cocktails. It’s pricey as is to be expected from this type of experience in NYC but the cocktails were fantastic and our bartender was fun and friendly. The theme is very enchanted/secret forest with garden gnomes and floral decor. I know with certainty that the vibe and overall feel would be very different for a nightclub event versus stopping in for a couple drinks. So again, this review can’t speak to what it’s like for nightlife. The view is great because of the huge windows on the lounge level. We also stopped on the rooftop before leaving just for the view and it really is lovely. If you’re looking for tasty and creative cocktails in a lovely space, it’s worth stopping in.
