I wish I could give negative star ratings! I understand this is a popular place to eat, especially on a night when the weather is nice, but..... after 20 minutes waiting in a drive-in slot for someone to answer after the red button was pushed is unacceptable. So when I decided to just go through the drive thru instead, that is when it got worse. The drive thru only had three cars, but NO ONE was taking orders. LITERALLY NO ONE. we were in the drive thru for 30 MINUTES! Finally, we just left. We did not even get to the order machine. As we passed the drive thru window, we saw three workers talking and laughing while fanning themselves. This is the worst Sonic I have ever been to. Save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere.
I went today with my family, 3 of the 4 that ate became ill. I felt light headed for the rest of the day and my 2 children vomited. We will definitely not be returning to this site. What we all ate in common were the french fries.
Clean, bright, staff was super friendly... Ordering was a breeze and the food was prepared fast ... We enjoyed everything... Will definitely go back ...
Love the Limeades. So refreshing and tasty. The hot dog is good but the toppings are sloppy and the bun gets soggy to quickly. I dont get the burgers here, def not my style. Loaded chili is a limited time offer and was very small for a large. Good flavor though. Put the tater tots in the chili, makes everything better. Wife got a fresh banana shake, extra points for me!
Never seem to get the order right but always rushing to get the order.food is mediocre but drinks are great when made correctly
I’m a huge Sonic fan. This location is in a great spot right off of the freeway. Service is quick and the parking lot and exterior seem to be clean and well maintained. The only thing keeping this review from being five stars is the high price of their food items. Whenever I go to Sonic I’m typically spending $10-12 per person and that’s on the higher side, plus the burgers, chicken tenders, and popcorn chicken are average at best.The condiments are bland and could use updating. What keeps me going back are the unique service options and wide variety of sides, drinks, and desserts.
1st time going. Food was bland. I will not go back. The best thing was the drink.
I got a garlic butter opened the wrapper carefully knowing this was a burger that was a little messy. The garlic butter literally poured outall over me and Im not being dramatic. They put enough for 5 burgers on it. That hamburger destroyed my jacket with stained butter grease,I had to go buy a new winter jacket.
I went here around 3pm and there was no one else in the store. The store itself was very clean and looked modern. The food was average for fast food, nothing amazing but was not bad either.
The first time I had sonic was on my way down to Virginia and it was honestly the best fast food Ive ever had(at that time). I drove pass this Sonic a few weeks ago and knew I had to come back so I came back yesterday since its been so long. First impression of this location, theres lots of drive in areas to order. Easy to order and menu is very clear. Touch screen TV also so you can go back to what theyre advertising. Food came out after about 5-7 minutes after payment.- Chili cheese tots- 2 different styles hotdogs- Jr. Deluxe cheeseburger- Frozen shake with Snickers- Ocean water- limeadeThe tater tots were the best thing I ordered and the only hot in temperature thing I received. My cheeseburger was seriously room temp/cold. Is this against health regulations? I ate my food the moment I received it so there shouldnt be a huge temperature change. Hot dogs were super standard and drenched in sauce. It wasnt pleasant. The Frozen Shake was disgusting. I dont know how ice cream can be disgusting but there was warm whipped cream with my blend of Snickers and vanilla ice cream topped with stale and hard snicker pieces. Ocean water was disgusting too. Nothing like what Ive had before and was super watered down.Staff that took our order and brought us our food was super friendly though. The problem starts with management and the kitchen staff.
Pretty good place to go eat with the family. There choices of drinks is enormous which is great for the kids. Prices are decent they do offer a discount on Tuesday. Burgers are good and big you get your moneys worth. I enjoy the jalapeno poppers those were my favourite appetizer. My only complaint bout the food was the fries came out cold but for me I dont mind cold fries but my kids do.
We hadnt been here for a while and since we were in the area - figured wed try it for something different.I was ordering a bunch of stuff ala carte (we wanted to sample a few things) and she suggested I get one as a combol meal to save some money!! I thought that was so nice of her to do that!My husband got the new patty melt and loved it. I must say it sure looked good - I think Ill try that next time. I also got a Blast which was a delicious way to end my meal. Im looking forward to going there again.
Ordering ahead on the app is easy and convenient. App gives you access to special deals and promotions. Food is good and always fresh. Drive in stalls allow minimal contact food service.
A tourist attraction that has finally been brought to NY! I used to LOVE to get Sonic when the family would take its summer vacation to Lancaster, PA. So, when I saw the sign that Sonic was coming right to my home stomping grounds, words could not describe my excitement. I was counting down the days until the opening and when I went the day of opening, there was a line of cars so long, it stretched out onto the road(insert sad emoji). When I finally was able to get in(around a week or so later), I was so excited. I swear, it must have taken me 10 minutes to decide. I have to say, their burgers are a lot more filling than they look. After the SuperSonic Double Cheeseburger, with tots, I was so full, but I had already ordered the Oreo Blast. I walked out of there so full, I could barely move. The Bacon Cheeseburger Toaster is missing the toast part. It is as soft(if not softer) than a traditional bun. I love the whole roller-skating concept. Even if you dont want to use the car-hop, they have a pretty spacious dining room. Sonics specials are pretty good too. When Sonic has their specials for $0.50 Corn Dog, do not be mistaken, they arent mini. They are full-sized. I made that mistake by ordering multiple of them in addition to my usual burger. The 1/2 priced Tuesday Cheeseburger is a good deal, but it is only good on the single cheeseburger(I made that mistake once). The 1/2 priced shakes & slushies every night after 8pm is a better deal than I thought it would be. Unless you have a massive appetite(or dont want to go into a food coma), choose. Either dinner or dessert because you will NOT have room for both. I have made Sonic one of my fast food regulars.
Got a small iced french vanilla coffee, wasnt french vanilla and was conpletely filled with ice.
Ice cream, 3 sonic blasts, all on point, service was fast and server was actually smiling, was a great experience for my first time at sonic, wont be my last
Fast and delicious food. Best of all you order inside the car and the food is bought out to you by waiters in roller skates or roller blades! Love the potato tots and popcorn chicken!!!
Worst Service and Food. We order for two Meal got one. Burger was Cold. only one person to take order for for drive in and inside. nobody is there to listen your complaint.
Very good options on the menu. Taters tots, Philly Cheese Stake sandwiches , shakes are all good. The atmosphere is interesting even though you are in your own car. Staff are speedy and mostly friendly. They are not always about the niceties of hellos or how are but they do the work efficiently. The cheese stake sandwich is very good. I usually only go for that when I go once a month. Not enough locations.
Giant burgers, messy messy. Came w mustard on it.The fries were tasteless needed salt, didnt see any place to pick up salt packets. Seats are hard. Not too bad better than their deer Park location. Been here since March. The car hop looked clean.
Great place pull up make your order and with in minutes your food comes out with someone in roller skates or blades what a great concept for a fast food franchise everything you can imagine in food you want to indulge youll find it at this place totally recommend
Sonic is more about the experience than the food. They have some items that are great but the prices have increased a lot over the years.

They are pretty fast compared to the green acres location and the brownie shake is a must try 😉

Horrible delivery experience on 2/4/22..Order was missing large fries,missing 2 double cheeseburgers..Onion rings were badly burned.Received 2 pretzels and a corn dog that wasnt ordered..Received replacement order pretty fast, but the food was horrible...Again,burned onion rings and both burgers has a ton of mustard and pickles on them to the point that the buns were soaked through..Inedible garbage...NOT EXAGERATING
Service was good and quick, but your basically paying a premium for fast food. Not worth what theyre charging for it.
Drive thu is busy, they forgot one of my orders plus the food was very salty and over priced.

I have to say that I really enjoy the carhop experience of sonic. Granted the food is brought in a bag that is given to you as opposed to in a tray that is attached to your window but it is still kind of cool. They really make the best shakes with real fruits yummy. For quick and easy and u can eat in your car at this time why not, u can be out and socially distanced with some really good tater tots, but you will probably leave with a sugar high for sure.
If I could ZERO stars to this drive in establishment I would. Ive been to numerous locations throughout the country and Ive never had to wait over 15 minutes to place an order. First my boyfriend and I were told to wait a minute and 10 minutes later we supposedly being helped. However, we tried to place our order and my I was rudely interrupted by the cashier and was told to speak slower. Not only did I do that but she hung up on us and our order was never placed. Both cars next to us came after us and were able to place their orders successfully. I would never consider returning to this location and would rather wait on the Dairy Queen less than a mile away. We are definitely considering filing a formal complaint. If you want decent service at fast food restaurant stay the hell away.

They recently opened, the place was packed Sunday afternoon. The wait was about 15 minutes. Its a lot closer than Deer Park branch from where I live so its definitely a plus!

Completely fell off on quality in the last month. Twice within the last 2 weeks they couldnt even get a chocolate shake right. Once it was vanilla ice cream and a bunch of mediocre chocolate syrup to brown the vanilla. And then today its all separated in the cup and tastes like Im eating malted milk mix powder from a container. A shame was a fan for a while but what a bad turn for the worse. Guess its Friendlys or dairy queen for shakes going forward.
Very great experience.It was my first time in a Sonic that had a typical fast food look inside but look more like a Red Robin restaurant.Sonic did a great job with this location.Having lived in the South for years and returning back to my hometown of Long Island, it was refreshing to see a Sonic in the mix.The service was somewhat slow, I know it was 11pm but the board kept saying kitchen for quite a while.Turns out my order was perfect and as ordered wit modifications.My tater tots were hot and just perfect in crisp and softness.
A fairly consistent drive in, but frankly the service can be spotty.Have had a few too many negative experiences with young rude staff, wrong orders being placed and so forth.But, it could be worse in all honesty. Not a bad option, but not the best. Id recommend any diner for food over this, and any ice cream place (Swirlz World in particular) over this as well.
Food Is fresh and service is fast I like that they care about their employees and customers and still wear masks you can taste the different quality of food here at Sonic very delicious even my 5 year old loves the chicken tenders meal.
Ive always had a great experience going to Sonic. One time I went with my friends at night, and we had to keep asking our server to come back, because either we wanted to add something to our order or something was missing, and he was absolutely so nice about it, his name is Steve. He was very friendly, especially when he was working all day it takes a lot to do. Overall I always love Sonic, just one thing I would recommend is fixing up the buttons for the drive in since they dont always work. :)

This one has a indoor, outdoor, & eat in the car option. Which ever one is pretty good. Definitely love the strawberry limeade with real fruits.

I really enjoy the mozzarella sticks and popcorn chicken and who doesnt love a sonic blast? And a soft preztel ooooo so good. But Ive gotten food poisoning here a few times. One of which was today very very unpleasant experience 😢
Went there around closing time but couldnt get served at the counter or at the drive thru. Disappointed
Literally made a U turn just to go here. So they got the order wrong, gave us regular hamburgers rather than cheeseburgers but the waitress was gone already, tip and all so we just ate them. The kids were happy with the waitress rolling up on skates and the experience of it, but as far as the food we were very disappointed.
This is hands down my daughters favorite place to eat. The food is always tasty and the options are great. Very quick and polite service as well. Well worth the drive from NYC.
Staff is friendly. Service is fast and the food is good. Plus its always nostalgic to see your server literally roll up to your window on a pair of roller skates.

Sonic consistently provides good tasting qaulity food; healthy is questionable. I enjoy the throwback, roller skating servers. I wanted to look at the menu before using the drive through and ended up downloading the app. Ordering was easy, but because I had to set up my account, it took longer than I expected. It was easy to check in upon arrival and my food was delivered quickly.
Order was fast. Food was great. The employee that brought the food to my car was very nice as well. Recommend this place.
Fun place to just hang out and chat with your friends. Make sure to ask for napkins or an extra cup when you get ice cream because its always dripping for some reason.
The app malfunction multiple times and my order was not correct. When I was going through the drive-through I asked them to re-generate the order on their end because the app had charged me and they didn’t do it. I insisted and when they generated it they tried to charge me five dollars more than what I want to do. Saying that they cannot honor the pricing in the app. Overall just a bad experience
First time trying a Sonic. I ordered the boneless chicken, Asian flavor. But the highlight was the Oreo cheesecake shake. Mmmm mmm. That hit the spot once it melted slightly. The location itself is very spacious with plenty of order bays and and drive thru. The drive thru worker was very courteous and had good manors, always appreciated at a fast food chain! Ill have to try one some of the other menu items next time. They even sell cheesesteaks, who knew!?!

Best Sonic branch that caters fresh deliciously prepared meals. The place is clean, they are systematic and organized. Employees are courteous and are very pleasant. Worth the trip and time. Congratulations Sonic staff, you guys are awesome.
If you order ice cream, blast, etc... Do it when you get there and not ahead time on the app because itll just be sitting there melting on the table. Just a tip.
Sonic is a throwback to yesteryear and it is awesome. Slushes are amazing as are the thick shakes. My kids love the popcorn chicken and tots. Fun place to go if you want something a little different. Food seems a step above the basic fast food variety and service is always good.
Very unique experience only missing a star because the burger meat patty is the worst burger meat I have ever had at a fast food establishment. The soda is amazing I don’t know if it’s the ice cubes but I never drank soda so fats and the classic strawberry shake is so delicious and has real strawberries my son had the grilled cheese and he loved it the chicken tender sandwich is great really delicious chicken tenders the quality is better than i have had in other establishments can’t wait to go back and try the other chicken sandwiches

A unique and pleasant change from the standard McDonalds and Burger King. We enjoy the wide variety of different Appetizers and unique entrees like Hot Dogs & Bacon Jam Burgers!
Who slathers mustard on top of a chili cheese dog? The combo just really turned my stomach and I couldnt finish it. I definitely wont try it again. The service was fast though.
Quality and service has diminished since first opening years ago. Hot dog seemed a little under cooked.
I LOVE this place! The food is delicious and the prices are amazing! I love the retro feel of driving in and having servers on roller skates. The only negative I would have to say is that this place does use Styrofoam cups which are not only awful for the environment, but they also tend to break easily. Other than that, this is truly one of my favorite places.

The drive in window had a broken credit card slot so I had to drive out and look for other spot with a good credit card slot the service is fast and efficient they come out in roller blades to bring your order and thats all a good quick place to eat just fix your credit card slots so people dont have to drive in and out of spots looking for one that works!
Meh. It was OK. Nothing exciting or special in any way. We ate inside. Only saw one server on skates and he wasnt looking especially happy to be working on this particular night. The food was OK, not great. Good onion rings, soggy chicken tenders, nacho tater tots were good, fries were bland, drinks a bit watered down and the place wasnt dirty but definitely wasnt being cleaned up by staff during the hour we were there. In defense of the staff it was a Saturday night and there were a lot of teenagers at the tables leaving more of a mess than necessary. Will try again in the Spring or Summer and see how the outdoor ordering and service is.
First time trying sonic and it exceeded my expectations. Such a cool experience seeing the waiters on rollerblades. Also the food did not take more than 5 minutes to arrive. Definitely going to visit again.
I love this place for a good salt rush.!!! The favorite is my pretzel but $2? So high for a little strip of bread. Love there Phil sandwich. Ordered on door dash, brought in complete food order. Had to go back in person. Reordered and it came out wrong the 2nd time. My son and I were this is not rocket science. Wasted so much time between door dash and the visit.

The drive -thru system was malfunctioning (not detecting cars). Could tell the staff was frustrated. Did a great job of keeping folks calm and getting the correct orders out. There was a shift change after I placed my order at the window. They forgot to give me my food. The wait was miserable.
Sonic Drive-In was the best experience ever. The food was great the driving was groovy. It reminded me of the 1960 drive-ins you see in the movies. The menu was great and extensive. The facilities were clean. And best of all the waiters and waitresses drive up on roller skates and bring you your order. They were nice and knowledgeable and attentive to anything you would need so you didnt need to get out of your car. Take the family for a great lunch.
A fun place to go with friends, the drive-in type is really great and something you cant really get anywhere else. The shakes and slushes are really good with a wide variety of flavors. I dont eat meat anymore, but the burgers and chicken are also quite delicious, definitely on the better end of fast food. Great deals after 8 PM!
I brought my fiance her 3-year-old daughter and mom. Last time I came here, she was just my girlfriend a year ago, and the food was ok. But this time, Sonic knocked it out of the park. Mom loved her hamburger and the chicken tenders were not greasy. Her daughter eat three quarters of her hamburger and half her fires. She loved it also. Ill definitely be coming back.
They really do have good food, and love the old school concept of the servers on roller skates..Their shakes really do live up to the hype!
Food didnt taste right. My kids, wife and I ended up throwing our food out after a few bites. Our burgers were cold and soggy, nuggets were like a brick. Not the best experience.
Service was quick, even late at night. Server was polite and I appreciate that, especially when its raining and they have to skate around to bring food to the cars. Half priced milkshakes after 8pm in the summer months always brings me back here!

Such a great dining experience if youve never been to a drive up location before. Very large menu with so many different choices and the dessert menu is almost more than one can handle! The carhops are very friendly and accommodating, truly no reason youll ever have to leave your car!
The drive in was full on a weekend night, as expected. But the indoor walkup counter had no line and our food came out in no time! Super friendly staff as well!
First time eating Sonic I was delighted to have so much assistance in my choice/decision-making. getting your food delivered by roller skaters is a trip and the outside seating was very enjoyable. Very clean and a lot of available seating both in and outdoors
The food was fine but the women was taking my order was extremely rude . Gave off such an attitude . I asked her to repeat the question because I didn’t hear her and basically screamed at me. This experience almost made me not want to go to that sonic location
This restaurant is perfect for covid times. Chicken is cooked well, great tots, and amazing Burgers. Try the new queso burger its fantastic. The milkshakes are phenomenal as well.

I feel like they should have an area to call out takeout orders; taking a number to hold while you wait in the eating area for someone to skate out with your bag feels weird.Half-off shakes late every day is awesome, but I wish they had more food specials available more often.They still use styrofoam beverage cups, though, so ugh.
It was super crowded, the lady didnt understand what I ordered, so we ended up taking whatever they gave us because the wait was too long we were hungry and just wanted to eat.

Pretty good and efficient. Its still fast-food though, which is why I cant give it more stars. Knowing what I know now, about the menu, I wouldnt go for the giant, awesome sandwich/burger thing. Less is probably more here. The fried stuff (fries, tots, pickles etc.) is delicious (of course) and the shake menu is pretty fast and fun.
Oreo blast or milkshake is a no brainer this stuff is crack
Ordering process was quick and efficient. But they gave me some ketchup packets that were covered in ketchup. The cap of drink also had stuff clinging to it. Cleanliness could be focused on a but more. They also gave me napkins... but the napkins were at bottom of the bag... not very helpful...
Everything about this place is great. You enjoy the comfort of eating inf your car? Then order from your car, you want to have a normal drive thru and leave? You can do just that, did you want to go inside to order and eat, then do just that. Sonic has a great variety of items and it honestly feels worth the buy. At certain times the prices are cheaper. Go here and enjoy it, It will be super worth it

My first experience here was awesome! I havent been to a Sonic before, so I didnt know what to expect. We found a drive-in spot right away and placed an order without any issues. Before we knew it, our food was being brought to our car in less than 10 minutes! Will definitely be coming back!
You drive to the spot and theres a big screen with everything they have. When your ready to order you press the red button. Its great cause you can take your time, no one waiting behind you. The order came out quick. The prices were reasonable and the food was very good
The chicken tenders were moist and delicious; they were so good that I went through the drive thru just to tell them they were the best Id ever had. The onion rings, made with sweet onions, were just right.
Easy to place order on the app. After checking in it took maybe a minute for the server to bring out my order. Order was complete and must have just come off the grill.

Great food and service. You can drive up or sit in and theyll bring it to you either way. Usually takes only a few minutes to prepare. The shakes and slushes are great and theres a huge variety of options. Not too many of these in the area so definitely worth checking out.

Been here twice thus far and both times werent great. First time the ice cream I got was a disaster, second time it was nothing special. The indoor seating is a decent idea but for it to work it has to be clean (which on the busy night I went, it wasnt). Since its Sonic and its unique Ill likely stop in again, but I much prefer the other long island location in Deer Park.
Absolutely no one tended to the drive thru. My husband and I had sleeping children in the car so we didnt want to take them out or wait long so we though the drive thru was our best bet. We had to practically knock down the window of the drive thru to place our order. This was on a Friday evening. I dont understand what the issue was.
Love all the assortment of drinks. The size of the drinks blow me away compared to other fast food places. This along with the economical prices made this a place I will be going to frequently. I am glad Sonic finally came to Nassau County!
I ordered a burger without mustard and they forgot to add tomato, but they gave me three tomatoes after I let them know. The food doesnt look good or taste that good either. I would recommend almost any other popular fast food chain.

It is a great restaurant. You have to order and eat in your car. So if you have some restless kids that you dont like to take to restaurants. This is a great place to eat, in the car. And the food and drinks are great. They even have a sparkling drink that has 0 calories
The service was amazingly terrible. The young man that took our order was great but the people in back should all go train course. My boyfriend and I waited for 20 mins before we went up to inquire about our order. We saw people who ordered after us get their food before us. The worst part is the food isnt that great and my burger didnt have the bacon on it that I paid extra for but it was too late to drive back to garden City from Amityville
The oreo shake was perfect!
They are quick with the food. I like that they have a large indoor area too which is great for the hot summer days when I don’t want to get the drive thru or I don’t want to stay in my car. Just make sure that before you leave you check your food if you are driving through the drive through.
Sonic ALWAYS (for me) has the BEST FOOD! I shared Buffalo boneless wings and they were DELICIOUS! They use real chicken and their tater tots are amazing (again in my opinion 😄). You should definitely stop by at sonic. You u dont even have to walk in order from the drive thru and theyll deliver your food to your car straight from the kitchen.
This place is so slow on service; no cars on the stall line and a short line for the drive through, still no help. The people taking your orders dont even know the menu and have attitudes when you ask for something they never heard of. Ive had better experiences with the Deer Park Sonic. Sadly its a little out of my way. Overall, 10/10 would not suggest people to come to the East Meadow location. Food isnt bad, its just the employees that work there.
Good food but the garbage containers were.more than full; 3 containers on outside terrace and 1 right next to indoor order desk were overflowing.Workers just kept walking past them, giving NO attention.When we got there, I cleaned off an outdoor table with cups & 10+ ketchup packets, so we could enjoy sitting outside.3:15pm, Sat. 6/9/18
For my first time at Sonic, I was pleasantly surprised. I loved the blue raspberry slushie, the corn dog and onion rings. The boneless wings could have had more sauce. Ill be back.
1st time going since I live nyc and we dont have one. Great experience but they need to relax on the sugar in them drinks!

Sonic is a fun place to go in the summer especially if you have a convertible. Do keep in mind there is an inclosed area to sit down and eat. Food is great and the price is right. Free refills on soft drinks for the asking. Plenty of parking and clean restrooms. Try the tots, youll love them.

Sonic is a great place to eat at. This location is very bad. Each time they advertise a new item that I w want to try the staff here don’t know what I’m talking about. I asked for a new sonic signature slinger bacon melt with no mayo. They gave us a deluxe cheeseburger with no bacon. The car hop didn’t even give us a receipt and when I asked for mustard she gave me an attitude about going back and bringing it. When I asked for the receipt she acted as if she didn’t hear me and then walked away. Terrible service for the car hop.
I love coming to Sonic. If you get a stall you can relax, take a look at the menu and order when youre ready. Normally I would eat in the car and just enjoy the food and radio. However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, I think its more courteous to grab your food and go to let more people get their orders in.

I stopped going to the Sonic in Valley Stream because of the issues. Any time I tried to order something different, it wouldnt come right and Id get an argument, even by the manager. I thought this Sonic was different, until this last time. The thing I now love is that I can customize everything with the use of their app and not have miscommunications with the person through the board. The problem comes when you order something specifically and they make it whatever way they wish. I opened my burger and it wasnt right. I gave it back to the carhop, and when it came back the second time, it was still wrong. I went into the actual restaurant and spoke to the person behind the register, who asked if I wanted to speak to a manager. The problem is that the manager argued and just handed me back the wrong burger, and wasnt going to do anything about it. The problem at this point is that Ive had it remade twice, it was still wrong, the bun had fell on the countertop, and it was cold. Instead of just asking me how I ordered and wanted it, he refused to do anything about it. I went back to my car, fuming, and asked my mother to talk to the manager and get the money back, since he wasnt going to do anything for me. He also argued with her and kept saying he would just make it over, when she said, more than once, that she wanted a refund. She called me and said he was insisting on making it again, and asked how I had it. I was so angry, I didnt check and waited until I got home to eat it. I should have checked - yes, it was made correctly, but you can tell they were being spiteful because there was little to no condiments on the burger, unlike my first one - which was slathered in the wrong condiments. The problem is that I had my burger specifically ordered the way I like it, and three times remaking it, it was still wrong. Ive called their corporate office more than once when Ive had problems with the Sonic at Valley Stream, and they simply dont care. Seems theres a lot of not caring when it comes to Sonic.
Dirty tables and food sub par. Fried chicken powdery coating and on the dry side. Tater tots were good but overall experience just ok. Long wait for food. Dine in not so good except for A/C.
Love Sonic in other states, not the one here. First time, waited forever and never took our order. Kept telling us in a minute, left after like 20. Second time, we were able to order. Texas toast wasnt toasted, soggy and cold. No gravy for chicken strips (every Sonic south of NY has gravy). Woman taking order couldnt figure out how to charge extra to add a hamburger patty to a burger for a kids meal. Spent a lot of money, and it wasnt even good. Seriously disappointed.
Because the place is new the drive thru wait time was long. Ordered the mozzarella sticks which were pretty good. The cheeseburger was ok, they add cheese, lettuce, tomato,onions and mayo for no extra charge.. Also ordered the strawberry lemonade and it was too sweet for me. The onion rings were overcooked.
Great food, a bit pricey. Fries & a drink do not come with your meal. FYI.
Perfect after dinner treat or before? The price point of the waffle cone which comes stuffed with double stuffed oreos and vanilla ice cream is the best Ive had in a long time for an end of summer treat. Make sure to pick one up and eat it before your main entree when you dine in.
The complaints on here are HILARIOUS! 😂 Born n raised in the South. Never went to a Sonic that I wasnt pleased with. Have been to all 3 locations up here n still love their food. My personal go-to is the Dinner Box combo w/extra gravy & extra toast. Chili cheese tots w/Route 44 Cherry DP. Then I finish it off with an Oreo shake. I expect service to be slower than usual because this is a new place for Yanks to experience, so it tends to get busy at the peak evening hours. Always love the carhops on skates as it reminds me of when I did it when I worked for them back in HS. While I get that maybe the location u went to wasnt as ideal as Ive come to realize most New Yorkers expect, feel free to not return if thats ur decision. Will definitely cut down the wait time for my next order. #ByeFelicia
Good food, good service. Food not as good as the he store in Elizabeth plus on one burger, only wanted ketchup, they couldnt make it. Was told to take the other ingredients off. Grandson wasnt having it. Called the manager and he made it correctly. Order terminal not set up for custom orders.
Kids loved the food and shakes. They especially loved the skaters. The line though was out and onto the streets.

The food is very goodI had the number 1 witch is a cheeseburger French fries & I got a chocolate shake. The staff is friendly we ate inside the restaurant they deliver your food on roller skates the restaurant was very clean I would definitely eat here again.
Stopped by for a weekday lunch and the service was so slow. I walked inside to order and it was completely empty. The food here didnt taste as great compared to the other Sonics I been to. It mightve been an off day cause usually all Sonics are normally on par with each other.
Very quick service. Staff rollerblades to your car (dinner and a show 😉). Pretty good food. My favorite order is a banana peanut butter shake which triumphs all the others Ive ever had 😍.
Getting in is a disaster, once in the food is basically standard fast food fair with hot dogs thrown in, the burgers are the same as Checkers with different names, the grilled chicken has better chicken than McDonalds but the roll at McDonalds is better still Burger Kings tender grill is the best tasting fast food chicken followed by Wendys. The Tater tots are pretty good though oily. The big thing is half priced shakes after 8pm made with REAL ice cream not frozen dietary desert and if you get strawberry or banana you will discover large chunks of fruit throughout. Havent had any of their breakfast items so I wont make any pronouncements. Verdict go for the shakes, possibly for the hot dogs which I dont eat but let food be an afterthought.
Sonic rocks for ice cream shakes! Great fun watch the roller skating servers and the locals showing off their best carz. Tater tots with cheese sauce on side is sure to be a shareable experience!
Yes a Drive-In!So nostalgic and modernized. This Sonic location has plenty if spots for cars and regular spaces in case you just want to dine at a regular table and chair instead if the inside of you car.Food prices are reasonable.Ordering is like at a drive-thru.Then a server in roller skates will bring your food.I had a double cheeseburger and an order of their fried chicken. Both were good.It was fun visiting a Drive-In!
Hot new opening so crowds are crazy (May17). Go off-times for shortest wait for a drive-in spot or the drive-thru (Tues after dinner is relatively light). Awesome summer drinks and shakes. More than burgers too - love the Asian chili wings.
Good quick food stops in the area. Drive-in has multiple ordering kiosks, and car park eating spaces. The menu is plenty stocked with choices.
You can never really go wrong with sonic. You can add cheese bacon and chili to anything. Mix and match drink flavors till your hearts content. The service is great, just watch those cholesterol levels, lol.
I did not have a good experience at Sonic. Most likely will not be going there again. I wanted to try it for a new place and the food is very salty. I liked that I could drive up to and order and have someone bring the food out to you but thats about it. I wanted to have all the condiments like lettuce tomato pickles onions on my chicken sandwich and I was charged a $1 extra for it but they never put the condiments requested anyway so I was charged for something that I did not get. I was lucky that I went at around 10PM and the lines for the car were not bad but this place has line outside on the hempstead Tpke. The food was given to us pretty fast as well. But Sorry Sonic you did not pass my taste and quality requirement. I would definitely go to Wendys that is a best fast food place.
I do not eat fast food! I like Sonic, their Hamburgers are very tasty & filling. The variety of hot dogs will please everyone. The ice cream, milk shakes & malts are delicious. I would go to Sonic just for the Cherry Lime Aide.
My kids drive miles to go to Sonic so for many like them this is a go-to spot. Maybe the thrill of many drive up to windows to order from, sans the waitress on roller skates ala American Graffiti, just wasnt enough to pull me in for a repeat visit. It was busy so perhaps turn around time, and food temperature was further compromised. Thus my cheese burgers cheese looked much the way it did just out of its wrapper. Because the burger was cold to the touch, any hope of residual heat melting the cheese was slim. There was an excellent selection of beverages, and according to my kids, their shakes are outrageous. I will give them the benefit of hope - that for most, the burgers are hotter, fries crispy and shakes divine. Otherwise, Sonic will be a fad and fade off Long Island like Wetsons.
The employees are full of energy and makes the place fun. Since it recently opened, it gets pretty busy and the wait time is atleast 15 minutes. But definitely before you pull out of the drive in....please check your bag, they have an habit of giving the wrong items 😖
Generally very busy. You can sign up for coupons if you text a code that is on the signs (free hot dog/discount drink/other). Very quick service even when terribly busy. Drive thru is always packed too. Located next to tons of shopping and off a main road so its easy to locate.
Brand New. convenient location. the food is good. Old school drive in style with the modern twist of a touch screen kiosk for ordering and payment. The servers wear roller skates. You can dine in as well.
Sonic is a classic eating experience. 3 different ways you can get your food 1 drive-in, 2 drive-thru and 3 dine in. The fun part of it all is the staff is on skates. A great reasonably priced American menu good for the whole fam.
THEY ARE SLOW, even before covid-19. Good food but Ive vowed to not go back, they take too long in the drive through or with the car hops, be prepared to wait!

When visiting Sonic be wary of a 14 year old kid possibly crashing into you on roller skates Ive seen it happen Ive also seen him throw the ice cream and the food all over the parking lot other than that there is a ton of candy in those ice cream blast the kids in there are not skipping on the candy thats for sure get them with the realistic by the way
Favorite fast food restaurant so far. The food is great, and service is fast. Of course, it has exellent roller skating people serving you. This is the experience that people truly need.
I usually like this location but this time around everything kinda sucked! Chili and hotdogs tasted like I was having my salt with chili and hotdog, burger was swimming in condiments, chicken was dry even though it too was swimming in condiments.. as I said not usual for this location so likely an off-day hence 3-stars
The chicken sandwich was worthless but the Philly cheese steak was pretty good. Chocolate shake was great!

Food is average to below average. Their service is hit or miss. Tonight there was two cars in front of me in the Drive-Thru. The first car placed his order and pulled up to the drive-thru to pay and get his food. The second car sat at the order screen for 8 minutes before I took out my phone and called the restaurant asking then to take the guys order.If rather have Chik Fil A to be honest.
One of the only sonic locations where you can actually eat inside. You still get the nostalgia of the skating waiters coming to your table after you place your order. Be aware that specials that you see on tv are often upcharged than what is advertised.Handicap accessibility is decent. The doors are double doors into a vestibule so you have to go through two sets of doors, note there is no handicap button. The threshold is not high though, if youre in a wheelchair.
Not a good experience (East meadow location) had to call the intercom 4 times. First time they gave me someone elses order, 2nd time they gave me my food but no drink, 3rd they forgot about me altogether 4th time finally got my drink. The place did not look busy and food seemed overly salty. Saw carhops vaping and dropping drinks on the ground, doesnt make me confident they do things any better in kitchen. The Green Acres mall location seems better, saw people actually get out their car to chase down their carhop to tip them.

Sonic is pretty novel, the drive-up aspect is a lot of fun. Food is decent and service was quick. I will definitely be back.Also, the desserts are pretty good too.
A Sonic drive thru with indoor and outdoor seating. I thougt it was awesome. Place is roomie with same type of car service. Cant go wrong with all their different favorite of ice cream.
Waited a very long time for my 2 steak n cheese. Order not taken as requested asked they cut the sandwich down one more time for my 5 yr old they said no. Server had no change for me had to wait again. Idk thr interest of the customer is not foremost. Only thing catchyvis the layout.

The service was subpar and the food was not very good. Im frequent this place years ago and the food was great. Dont know what happened. The bread was kinda stale and the fixings on my burger wasnt that fresh. Im hoping it was just a bad day and Ill probably give this place another chance in the future.
Glad to have a Sonic nearby, hopefully they continue to expand in the area.I would like to see them accept other forms of payment, such as Samsung or Apple Pay. I forgot my cards at home and couldnt pay (silly me), but fortunately I had someone read out my info over the phone to load up a Sonic card. Minor caveat, otherwise, this place is great & they have indoor seating, as well.

I only had he double cheeseburger and fries and it was very good compared to other fast food places also they had plenty of parking I parked in the back under the shade trees and it was a nice day and was able to have a relaxing lunch break also the outside of the restaurant had a large patio area

2021-10-09Good fast food spot. I love their drive up set up. You can just sit in your car, eat and chill for a bit. It is pricier than other fast food spots though. There isnt a value menu and most of their sides and snacks items are over $3. Variety of drinks, blasts, and shakes. If you have a sweet tooth I would recommend this fast food place

2022-05-06Sonic is my happy place. A unique set if fast food items, still the best tater tots around. It does not leave me with the nastiness that normally comes with fast food dining. The only downside I might have is sometimes they have limited offers of certain sandwiches which used to be game changers for me, there was this one texas toast burger with mushrooms and bacon which I used to eat every time I visited. Now I just order the basic stuff. Try their tots!

The roller skaters are amazing to watch, they make you want to cry because they make it look so easy. The great music is hardly audible 90 % of the time. Nice to wait

2022-02-06Ordering was pretty easy and food came out pretty quick with a dude on roller skates. Burger was good but not great as I had heard so much about sonic I was expecting much better. It was okay but Im not rushing back as the meats quality was average at best and seemed reheated.

2022-03-02Service is always great, and the food arrives quickly. Couple that with the cool skates and you have an experience to remember. The only problem is that the food is horrible. The hotdogs are bad. The burgers are school lunch. The chicken is microwave quality. The jalapeño poppers are freezer section. Their fries are so disappointing considering how good they look. The slushies though.. thats a win. Go for the slushies and the skates and its 5 stars. Go to eat and its an L.

2022-03-15Fantastic burgers and friendly people.. Typically i have no complaints, but this time around the bacon on my burger was literally like a solid plate. Hard, crunchy, and all stuck together. I mean i still ate it because its BACON, but it certainly wasnt ideal..Tried a new flavor of peach slushie tho and it was phenomenal. I typically stick to my grape or green apple, but i think i found a new favorite. All in all, if you are having fast food, this is still the place to go
