Great Community Center. With lots of community based programs, which people can access readily!They have chess, basketball, soccer, dancing, karate, and many more!
Its a beautiful area with poor maintenance tho. I see the minor attempts to keep the neighborhood running, but if things dont improve right away the area will continue to deteriorate and fast become a slum.

My grandson is in the Learning Bridges program. I pick him sometimes . The gentleman at the front desk wears no mask. That should be addressed.

I went there for early voting. Really cant judge how the community center is but voting was easy and fast.

Sotomayor center where I went to vote at was clean and decent but the New York Housing building was dirty, like others I have seen throughout the Bronx on the outside.
Need to install camaras all over the premises for everyone safety, make sure that the tenants wont litter or smoke and piss the hallways/elevator. Especially dumping furniture in front of building or hallways and lobby. Once they intall the camaras we can catch the tenant and have them summons or evicted out of nycha. Thank you..

NYCHA is dirty, staff are unfriendly, alot of construction around the area and very dangerous.
Projects, in general, are not the best places to live. However, some of the finest people I have met live in them.
I grew up here they changed the name 30 years later just because Justice Sotomayor visited a relative here one summer. How do you erase the idea in which I came from?
Great community center for aftreschool for kids,they have alot of activities for children. and they do care for each abd every child that walk thru those doors.
YOU SHOULD HAVE PEOPLE THAT SPEAK SPANISH IN THE SONIA SOTO MAYOR OFFICE BECAUSE YOU HAVE A LOT OF SPANISH TENANTS AND NOT EVERYBODY CAN KEEP AN SPEECH IN ENGLISH... IN ANOTHER HAND, HOW HELPLESS ARE SOME PEOPLE THAT WORK THERE, THEY PREFER HANG UP THE PHONE INSTEAD OF HELP US.
I noticed that they do a lot of good for the community Im a construction worker and working across the street from the community center always proud of what community centers do for everyone

Its got potential being fixed up and someones always moving out so theres always apartment for rent
They want all this rent money but always have the hot water off for days and gas & they never clean its always dirty and in the office they treat you with disgust!
Went there for family day, It was great seeing old friends. It was a family reunion, good music, good food, great people 😀

Even though there is construction going on, fixing the exterior of the buildings, due to the neglect and inferiority of the administration, all I can say is that I hope to move out of here as soon as I can.
Lived here for 30 plus years and now i have water damage in my building due to the construction going on.
Its a place for fun with a lot of things to do you should join the family

2022-06-03Nycha staff is almost always rude like whats in their coffee. They do not care about the residents and will have you wait for days just to fix a problem. Ive been out of power for two days now and all theyve said was Ill send someone to you tonight. This is not the first time they have lied and made me and my family wait the entire day just for them not to come. Plus every single building is dirty.

2020-10-25I went there for early voting, even though much earlier, the Voters Registration office said early voting would be at Stevenson H.S. The entry was in the back on Rosedale Avenue and it took me 1 1/2 hours. I got there at 9:30 and entered at 11:00.Everyone social-distanced, wore a mask and had a good attitude because we all realized our responsibility to make one of the most important changes of a lifetime.If you havent, I ask you to get out and vote; and please vote on the Workers Family Party ballot line! Thanks!

2022-04-13Houses seem nice, they are a nice development but I went to the NYCHA office and the staff there is absolutely horrible they are not very kind or professional their behavior towards people is not very kind to say the least

2021-03-06There is a great breaking/b-boy(girl) dance/ training class there. Taught by a great Vet of the culture with his spouse who is also dynamic. I do have Zoom Meetings for a space of an hour and am permitted to sit in a room nearby. Staff is great and take social distance seriously!! Nice place...

2021-08-31The Former BxDale Projects, Now Sotomayor 🏠 is Undergoing an Extensive Rehab, across on Commonwealth & Gleason, a Total Transformation of what was a Lot an entire Block, across from The Watson ,/ Gleason Playgrounds.2 Very Large 🏢🏢🏫🏫, and 1 on Rosedale and Watson, in the Middle of the Complex, the Planners Builders Made about 40 Private Houses 🏘️🏘️🏘️, with Common Driveway in Back. What was a Lot, that then became a Grocery Store, Finast, to a Car Dealership, to A Church , and a Lot for Generations of Kids, has now Taken its Proper Function, Much Needed Housing , and Improvement. This Neighborhood is On of the Most Transitioning in The 🏙️🏙️🏙️🌆🌆🌆, The Private Houses 🏘️🏘️🏘️ are All Looking Impressive, Flowers 🌷🌷🌷, Gardens & Peace, Stay Well and Safe travels to you,
