We loved our experience with Matt and Marie. We booked our wedding with them after recommendations from a friend and after meeting them at a wedding show. Our original wedding date was postponed due to covid and we were able to rebook our new date with no issues. Marie was responsive the entire time and her and matt were helpful with planning the order of events. Matt had everyone dancing the entire time at the wedding and was upbeat and fun. Marie and matt are both hardworking and very real people. I felt comfortable working with them and asking (way too many) questions the entire time. If I could give them bonus points for finding us a videographer at 9:30 pm the night before our wedding, I would.
SoundWave DJ is 10 out of 10!!!Marie was wonderful to communicate and book with! When I started to worry about covid and our wedding Marie talked to me on the phone one night for almost an hr and helped me with our back up plan, which we ended up needing to do.Matt is AMAZING!! When you talk to him it’s like you e been buddy’s forever! We had a phone meeting a couple of days before the wedding to finalize everything and he made the day go smoothly and perfect!! My husband and I really enjoyed working with Matt and Marie. Marie was so easy to connect with during planning and she made our photobooth templates exactly how I wanted them to match with our other decor. The social booth was a HIT with our guests and was full the entire night. Matt kept us organized despite not having a rehearsal due to covid. He played all the jams to keep us dancing all night. They were both super helpful and friendly!
We hired Marie for my parents 50th Anniversary party, this woman is a dream! In a 15 minute phone call we had an agenda for the event hammered out and I was feeling so much relief in terms of how the party would be executed with all that we wanted to accomplish.The day of the event, Marie made magic happen with a short-staffed venue, all the while keeping her upbeat, professional and thoughtful personality! We had DJ Brian for our wedding and he was AMAZING he had the dance floor packed as soon as dinner was over. The party didn’t stop the whole night. He also did the music for our ceremony and it was flawless. I can’t say enough good things about this company! They worked closely with us through the entire process. Just had our wedding last Friday, Marie and Matt from Soundwave DJ and Photo are the nicest people and helped make our wedding day perfect. They made the whole process leading up to the big day and during our wedding as smooth as possible. Marie took amazing engagement photos of us and I can not wait to see our wedding pictures. We hired Soundwave DJ & Photo for our New Years Eve Celebration and I can say they were fantastic! Our attendees ranged from young to old and Matt was able to get everyone on the dance floor. Not only was the music fantastic they were able to transform our facility. Their visual effects and lighting show turned our event into a one of a kind party. As the manager of a local banquet facility, I would highly recommend them for any event you are planning. We originally looked at Soundwave because of their variety of services they offer. Right from the start, Matt and Marie were professional and friendly to work with. Planning a wedding is already stressful. A pandemic happening during the middle of planning makes it incredibly harder. If it wasnt for Marie, our wedding on 7/25 would not have happened. Although it was not the wedding we had visioned, it was a wedding we will always remember and cherish. Marie was not only our photographer, but she helped us plan out everything, including helping us find a venue when our original venue could not help us. She kept checking in with us to not only stay informed of the plans, but to make sure she was supporting us in any way possible. We chose SoundWave for our wedding photography, Sam was our photographer. Our experience was great - from planning and getting a package and price that worked in our budget with Marie to having Sam capture our special day. We hadn’t met Sam before the wedding and when she arrived at the hotel it was so easy getting along and feeling comfortable around her. After countless hours spent planning a perfect wedding, two of the most important parts were DJ and photographer.When anybody remembers a wedding, they remember how they felt and how much fun they had. Mike (DJ MAK) was PERFECT for this role. He worked side by side with us to to make sure the night was everything we visioned. Mike was incredibly professional and skillfully able to read the vibe of the room to ensure everyone had a good time. Not only did Mike keep the party going, he even came to the floor at times and joined in the fun. Everybody loved the event and the biggest compliment we received was how much fun everyone had dancing the night away.Another important aspect of any wedding is the photographer. We are so happy that we choose Nilson for this job. We met Nilson the day of the wedding and he quickly fit right in. He was very easy going and even froze outside with us so we could get our perfect outdoor pictures before it started to rain. His pictures were fantastic. Both Nilson and Mike worked well together and helped to create an amazing night that we will remember forever.
We had DJ Matt at our wedding at the Tonawanda Castle this past Saturday. Matt worked with us to pick our music, get to know us a bit better and kept the dance floor full throughout the night. There was a few tough names in our wedding party but Matts strategy makes sure he doesnt mispronounce any names! Thanks again Matt! I would recommend SoundWave to anyone looking for a DJ! We recently used Soundwave to DJ our wedding.. Matt was our DJ. He was absolutely amazinggg, no one wanted to stop dancing! I dont think there was ever a moment that the dance floor wasnt full. Marie and Matt did an absolutely amazing job!! I first met Marie at the Adams mark hotel job fair back in the fall of 2011. I entered into a drawing to win a photo book and I won it! My husband and I met with Marie when she came to our house. Because of her relaxed, easy going personality we booked with her that night. Working with her during the next 10 months was such a great experience. She was so wonderful at returning my calls and answering questions. When I spoke with Matt 2 days before the wedding about the music we had picked and to go over the schedule for the day I knew he was going to be fantastic! When Marie arrived the day of the wedding she never missed capturing a moment. She was so fun and it was so great to have her as part of my day. She felt like more of a friend then a photographer. Her personality was so fun loving and she was so into the day! Matt was a great DJ. He also was so fun loving and felt more like a friend then our DJ that we had just met. He was great with playing the music we requested along with taking requests from the guests. Matt kept everyone on the dance floor the whole night. Not even 2 weeks after the wedding, Marie has already sent over the online album to look over and it was so great to relive each and every moment while looking at the pictures. Not only is the quality of their services some of the best, so is their equipment. My clients have used the social booth and the mirror and both were so stylish and easy to use. They did an absolutely unbelievable job!!! Our wedding reception couldnt have gone any better. We went with both the DJ and photo service for our wedding and also added the photo booth rental, and it was certainly money well spent. The DJ Matt got the party started off nicely and really fed off the crowd. He was very helpful and made sure that our needs were being met. Marie, the photographer, was a lot of fun and went to great lengths to get the best photo possible, including lying on her back on the dance floor or standing on tables or chairs!! She was always looking out for our needs at all times! She was great with the guests, I received many comments from my guest stating how Marie was so personable and friendly when taking the pictures! The photo booth was a big hit and the album they put together was a nice gift at the end of the night! A wonderful experience working with them and wouldnt change one thing about their service!

We received a DVD with our photos only a month after the wedding day, and I cant believe that Kim was able to capture the most unbelievable shots of those precious moments that we had. Matt was amazing. We didnt have a lot of time to make an appointment to meet at all. We hired them through their website and communicated mainly through email. When it came to the week before the wedding and needed to meet he made time for us outside of his usual schedule to accommodate us. The company has a great customer portal that allows you to make payments. Choose songs, which even have a clip for you to hear so you know what youre choosing. Matt had trouble with the microphone for the ceremony and quickly solved the problem before we even knew about it. He also gave direction to everyone making a speech to be comfortable with the microphone. He worked the guests great and played a great mix of songs. Photo booth was very unique and had unique and customized print outs for both us and the guests. Our only regret is not having a videographer to see the things we might have missed or wanted to remember more.
Weve had Marie do our engagement, wedding, and most recently maternity photos and will be doing newborn pics as well. She is amazing! I do not like having my picture taken to begin with but she makes us feel so comfortable and the quality is just beyond words. Its like being photographed by a good friend. We have and will continue to go to her for all of our photos and have encouraged others to do the same.
We had Ryan as our DJ for our wedding reception in October 2019. Ryan was very thorough and easy to work with. He listened and was open to our ideas and made it all happen. Planning the music and timeline were very easy, thanks to the awesome online portal. Ryan kept our schedule on time throughout the night, and helped things flow seamlessly. Marie and George were absolutely incredible. Marie was with us from the moment we got to the hair salon until the end of the night. She was patient, kind, and took amazing pictures. She had a great time with our wedding party and had so many suggestions for pictures. She took any suggestions the bridal party, or the parents had as well. She was responsive from the moment that we booked her for the wedding until the end of the wedding when we walked out the door.George was an amazing DJ. He was in contact with us the entire week before the wedding. After we created our play lists he made sure he had all the songs and he never let the party stop. When searching for our photographer and DJ I was having a hard time finding what I was looking for. I spoke with Marie Conta multiple times before deciding to move forward with Soundwave. Her fun and inviting personality is exactly what we needed to not be camera shy. We decided to do a bundle package and use soundwave as both our DJ and Photographer vendor. The process was simple and they were there to help along the way if needed. Based on our conversations and music taste Marie thought DJ Mak would be perfect for us. Let me tell you Marie and DJ Mak did an outstanding job. I can be super picky and hard to please and they listened to everything we had to say and went above and beyond. DJ Mak used our suggested play list and kept our 200+ wedding Guests dancing all night long even after the venue was trying to shut down. Marie was so patient with us even when we were tired of taking pictures haha! She was quite literally in the middle of all of the excitement all day and night and captured such wonderful natural looking pictures. I was not feeling well before the reception and she was thoughtful enough to have tea and medicine sent up to my room to help me feel better. DJ Mak used an awesome saxophone playlist with popular music during dinner and it could not have been more us and fit the room more perfectly.. I’d describe it as elegant but fun! One of my concerns was that the music wasn’t going to be loud enough in our large venue, DJ Mak brought some of his personal speakers to add to the room as a surprise to me and make sure I was a happy Bride. The two together made such a great pair. Our family and friends loved them so much they were voicing their praise to them all night and even gave out plenty of hugs to each of them before they left. We haven’t heard a single complaint from our guests, they haven’t stopped talking about them and my husband and I were blown away. Highly suggest DJ Mak and Marie Conta for your wedding needs, I promise you won’t be disappointed!
I hired Marie to be my photographer for my wedding. After spending over $2500 on my photo package & waiting 8 mos for my pictures, Marie handed me 9 enlargements & told me to go to Walmart to print the other 75 pix in my package. Ive never heard of a photographer sending a client a link for their pix and be told to print them yourself.Matt as a DJ is very good, but Marie is not worth the cost.

I would HIGHLY recommend this company if you are looking for a photo booth for your wedding! I dealt with Marie who was very personable and informative with me leading up to my wedding. She explained all of their photo booth options and was available whenever I needed her. Plus - my entire family LOVED her at the wedding! We purchased the Social Booth which was a huge hit with all of our guests, and Marie was there to help if people had trouble. The Social Booth itself was compact enough to fit into our limited space and had so many personalized options!

My husband, son, and I recently had a photo shoot mini session with Marie at the Sunflowers at Sanborn. She took her time getting photos of our family, had us do multiple locations, and went out of her way to make sure she got shots of our usually ornery 10 month old smiling. Having shopped multiple DJs, it was an easy choice to select Soundwave to get our party started right. Matt was our DJ and did a perfect job. Our family and friends were a little hesitant to hit the dance floor and Matt immediately changed up the play list. Shortly after, the crowd was rocking for the remainder of the night. The location on Transit Rd was so wonderful, the color scheme, set up, and art work were very welcoming and fun! The owners are truly specialists when it comes to your wedding. Not pushy, clear and straight forward, compassionate, hard working people all to make your day extravagant. Marie and Nilson were our photographers and Stephanie was our videographer for our wedding and all three were absolutely amazing! Even with our venue being very inhospitable they remained extremely professional and did not let it effect their performance with us. They Were discreet when needed but also blended in with the party... We have had countless compliments from our guests on how much they loved our photographers. We will definitely be using them for any future photography/ videography needs and recommending them to all of our friends! My wife and I got married on 10/3/15. We had done some research, looked at reviews, and asked around. We found Soundwave DJ and thank god we did! Vince our DJ was INCREDIBLE!!! He talked with us prior to our reception and went over EVERYTHING in great detail. When reception time came he was spot on from the beginning of the night till the very end. He played the songs we requested but also played to the crowd as well. We received numerous compliments about the DJ and everyone simply loved Vince. Our dance floor was packed all night because of him. Vince, we cannot thank you enough! If you are on the fence as to what DJ company to use for your wedding STOP right now and contact these good people. They are friendly, professional, and top notch. We hired them for our wedding on 10-02-15 and they were great. Matt was on point and went out of his way to meet any requests my wife and I had. Marie is a bundle of joy. My photography experience with Marie was fantastic. She recently took family pictures and put everyone at ease with her professionalism, expertise, and candor. She helped everyone relax in front of the camera and be ourselves, and the results showed in the wonderful photographs she took of us. Marie was very knowledgeable and knew exactly how to adjust dress to obtain perfect photos. She also very patient and is able to have children focus on her to get the pictures. We did not live locally and had to communicate from over 1,000 miles away over phone and email.DJ was great. He reached out to us before we ever thought about reaching out to him. Asked us to fill out a form ahead of time for specific music. We also reached out to him after that, and he managed to play all of the songs we requested in addition to what was needed to keep our dance floor occupied all night until the end of the reception. We even requested an extra hour of service due to the amount of guests dancing.As for the photographer, we were disappointed. In the beginning (engagement photos), we were mostly satisfied with everything. However, when the week of the wedding came, we discovered the photographer was pregnant. Normally, this would not be an issue. However, she had at least 1 other photographer on staff, and we were not immediately aware of the fact our wedding date would coincide with her pregnancy. She was quite far along by the time our wedding date came around. As a relative factor, our makeup artist was also pregnant, but all of our requests were fulfilled in lieu of the artists personal life. There were several photos we were unable to obtain, mostly due to the photographer pregnancy. There were photos in the local town park the photographer was not motivated to get in the proper position to take. Additionally, at our reception, it seemed as if the photographer was more interested in socializing than taking some key photos we desired. Not to say we did not enjoy some of the additional photos taken, however, there were key photos we expressed a desire for which we did not receive.Additionally, my wife had to fight for dance floor lighting, as there was an additional fee not originally included in the package her parents were paying for. It was quite ridiculous how we had to negotiate for that feature considering the cost of services and considering the fact that other vendors include this in their normal packages.
If you want people saying Best wedding Ive ever been to then look no further! I hired this company for photography, videography, DJ and Photo Booth and they were flawless in every category. I cant rave about this company enough. Everyone was dancing and laughing the entire night and it was all beautifully captured by our photographer and videographer. They made everything so easy and effortless which is just want you want on such an important day!

We gave DJ Mak the freedom to choose a lot of the music and it’s the best decision we ever made! He had people dancing all night and laughing! We had the most fantastic time at our wedding, mostly because everyone was on the dance floor the entire time! We had DJ Mike, and he was super nice and easy going. He played exactly what we wanted during cocktail hour and the dinner, and then completely switched it up to get everyone on the dance floor afterwards. They are super organized and you can be as specific as you want. The only thing that was stressful was that about 2 weeks before the wedding when everything was due we tried to get ahold of Soundwave with a few songs that we had sent them and we didnt hear back for about a week. That being said, the days leading up to our wedding and the day of was 100% stress free! Before each reception event (garter toss, cake cutting, etc) Mike found us to let us know it was about to happen. It was great to have him touch base, especially because at one point we needed him to wait another song or 2 before the event. He was time conscious according to our schedule, but also understood we were going with the flow and it was okay to step outside the box. He played such a great mix of old wedding favorites and newer dance music that everyone spent the night dancing away. I promise you, a DJ will make or break your wedding and Soundwave definitely makes it!!! 5+ stars for sure! I will absolutely recommend them, especially DJ Mike, to everyone!
Sound Wave came recommend to us from our wedding planner, I visited the business and was very impressed with the owner and the selection of photo booths that I’ve never seen before. Every guest loved the mirror and the attendant on site was excellent. We also received a book of the pictures, which was a nice gift. I would only use Sound Wave in the future. - Absolutely thrilled with my cousin Marie Conta, @ soundwave DJ & Photo, lov lov lov my pictures!! The location was picked by Marie and it couldn’t have been at a better spot totally perfect for my family!! Marie had great ideas for poses and was willing to work with us on any ideas that we had, she was able to keep all 3 of my kids attention and let us re-group when the kids got distracted & very mindful in general! Marie is a wonderful photographer and I would refer her to anyone doing Any type of photos, she is very talented at what she does!
We had George as our DJ for our wedding and he was absolutely fantastic! He was very attentive and always touching base with is throughout the night to make sure we did things in a timely manner while still allowing for a nice party flow, he was friendly and helpful and even took the time to search out a specific polish song I was trying to play for my Uncle. And Stephanie was our Photorapher. She was also amazing! She was very attentive to what we wanted as far as pictures and even adjusted our picture location due to unforeseen events at our destination. She made sure she got lots of great shots without making us feel as though she was in the way and also was great at not interrupting the party flow of the evening! I think I can speak for my husband as well as myself when I say we would highly reccomend them both!

Soundwave was great!! Used them for my wedding (DJ & Photobooth). They were very thorough and made sure everything went according to plan. Our DJ (Derek) was amazing and I really could not have asked for a better experience. Marie always took time with me on the phone to make sure everything was just perfect. Extremely fair price and they made everything go off without a hitch!!
Simple...... AMAZING! Marie was MORE than helpful from start to finish, Matt was not only a handsome guy ;) (way to go Marie) he rocked the party and my husband and I were so happy to see everyone having fun! The dance floor was packed all night! We used the photo booth which was a HIT and we have a TON of photos from it and we also used their up lighting. I dont remember the up lighting but I was INSISTANT on having it. My husband said it looked great! :)Prices are totes reasonable and I would recommend them to EVERYONE! Seriously, Marie helped me find my florist, recommended hair and make-up and even candy bar people. Even though I didnt use some of them because I had already found my people, she was always happy to lend advice! They’re not out to get money, their out to HELP and make your day AMAZING! Planned a destination wedding. Marie was excellent and put my mind at ease. Dave the DJ kept dancing all night. Marie was my photographer and did a wonderful job. The service was nothing short of amazing!
Ryan with soundwave Dj and photo was absolutely amazing! As soon as we reached out to him, he was very quick to respond and answered any questions we may have had. Payments were very simple and not a hassle. The website they use allows you to pick songs you want played and not, as well as having a full schedule of your actual wedding day and music needs in order by event; Ryan even called the week of the wedding to review everything and make sure it was exactly what we wanted! Our wedding day was perfect and Ryan was a big part of that!
As a senior class advisor for a local high school I can honestly say Matt and Marie as well as the whole Soundwave team know how to keep people dancing and the photos are always great!! This year will be our THIRD PROM season together and already scheduled for next year!! I love them so much I am using them for my own wedding this year!!

Absolutley amazing.... they did my wedding this past weekend and iam absolutley speechless. Matt killed it as a dj, from the first song of the evening to the last dance our dance floor was packed! we had to expand the dance floor actually. Marie was with us the whole day from when the girls were getting ready until the reception ended. Anytime my wife and I needed anything they were there for us on top of doing what they had to do. I dont know why anyone would use anyone else for dj or photo services!!!! you guys rock!!!!!
AMAZING ceremony and reception!!!DJ MAK is the perfect person to entertain your friends and family on your most important day. He was meticulous with all the details. He visited the ceremony and reception venue prior to the big day to plan and prepare for his setup. He went over timelines, wedding party pronunciations, prepared a backup computer and even a rain plan if needed. We had so many compliments with the live acoustic covers he played prior to the ceremony and then again during the dinner hour. The live music is a nice feature that adds something special and unique to the day. His playlist covers numerous genres that you’ll want to extend his playing time. He’s also great a reading crowds to keep the dance floor filled. DJ MAK takes pride in being personable and professional. Our wedding was perfect and DJ MAK was one of the reasons why!!! We were going to use Sound Wave for our Daughters wedding but the world wide pandemic hit and we were forced to change it to a later date. They did not have any DJ’s available for our date later in the season, which is understood. So we were forced into looking for a new DJ. When I asked about our deposit i was told I would get a credit, REALLY? Towards a photo booth but we would have to come up with an additional $160. So unprofessional! So an additional deposit for a new DJ. People you need to know!

Soundwave DJ services exceeded our expectations! DJ Mike kept our guests dancing ALL night long. We gave him a few songs we liked, and he was able to play an amazing playlist that fit into our preferences as well as keeping the guests happy. These guys are great. Our wedding had a video booth, pinball, skeeball, movies, and video games so I thought Derek would have his work cut out for him to keep people on the dance floor. But that guy rocked it all night long - the floor was always packed and everyone had a great time! We even made a last-minute name that tune contest for our guests and Derek MCed the heck out of it. Soundwave, man, they never miss a beat (and if they use that slogan, I claim royalties).

AWESOME! Ourselves and our guests absolutely loved the Selfie Booth! Not only were our guest able to take pictures that they kept, but we also received on the spot (in an album) copies of the all the pictures that were taken in the booth. They are the only place that I know of in the Buffalo area that has the Selfie Booth, which is a huge mirror that takes pictures and allows you to sign the picture afterwards! Very very cool stuff!Our videographer was great as well! The sign of a really good videographer is barely noticing that they are there. And she was very inconspicuous, so I know she got some great footage! They edit it for you so that its a little highlight trailer of your special day, and you dont have to be stuck with a long 4-5 hour video that you may or may not ever watch all the way through. The editing really makes the video look like youre watching a movie trailer! It truly is amazing and convenient! Since its like a video link (think YouTube video) it allows you to share it via email or social media. Which is perfect for us because there were family members that we were not able to invite, and some guest that were not able to make it. This way they get to experience everything that they missed by not actually being at the wedding.The owners are a lovely couple. They really made the whole process very easy and comfortable by just being so warm and kind. I love giving my business to kind people! It feels so much better than grudgingly paying for a service.

Let’s be honest planning a wedding is stressful but they were more than helpful, answering all of my questions promptly and ensuring I had all the information needed to plan our special day! The portal they provide is user friendly and extremely helpful with organization of timelines, songs and info about your vendors. The 3 of them day of were extremely professional, fun and allowed us to have the best experience, one we could dream of! I highly highly suggest them for your wedding needs!

2022-02-26We met Marie (co-owner & photographer) in 2020 and quickly hit it off. We decided to hire Marie as our photographer & her husband/co-owner Matt as our DJ. We had to postpone 1 year due to Covid. Matt & Marie made postponing painless for us. We finally had our wedding day in February 2022. Matt & Marie played a HUGE part in making our day successful! They listened to every specific request we had and did a great job delivering. Matt absolutely heard us in regards to music choices and gave us the best cocktail hour, dinner music & dancing music we could have imagined. Marie helped guide us all day from 10:30am to 10pm. It was also a pleasure getting to know both of them & spending time with them on our wedding day! Zero regrets about hiring Soundwave. They have a whole crew of DJ’s and photographers you can research & see who fits your style best.

2021-07-31We hired Marie, from Soundwave after a recommendation from a family friend. We couldnt be happier with her! From day one she was quick to respond to any and all questions and concerns we had in a quick and decisive manor. Hiring a photographer goes well beyond the photos they take. Marie was professional, personable, respectful, knowledgeable and went above and beyond on our wedding day! Aside from taking amazing photos from our engagement to the last minute at our wedding, she undoubtedly eased our stress with her experience, vision and her positive and bubbly personality. We cant say enough about the work she does, the lengths she goes to and the positive experience we had with her. 2021-05-21Soundwave Dj and photo is an amazing company who captured our engagement and wedding day in the most perfect way. Maria is an amazing photographer! She took the most perfect photos, has a great personality and kepts my wedding party laughing. She was moving furniture, on the ground for perfect shots, and keeping things moving along. She also had Dan, a great videographer with her the whole time. They both captured everything and definitely didnt disappoint. We had Matt for our Dj and he had everyone dancing the whole time. I highly recommend this company and definitely will be using them again for other things.

2021-12-03I cant say enough good things about Marie. She is simply amazing! I met her a year ago when her sunflower pictures drew me in and weve had regular shoots with her ever since. Shes SO good with my kids and so patient. The results are absolutely breathtaking. Our home is now covered in picture taken by Marie. I highly recommend her services.

2021-08-03While planning a wedding during a pandemic was stressful, Marie from Soundwave Photography made the process so much easier. We were stressed about corralling two big families into photos, squeezing in pictures during a cocktail hour and not missing our reception, and coordinating everything while still enjoying ourselves. Marie and DJ MAK helped make our perfect wedding day. We did not have to worry about a thing. We have gotten dozens of comments about how great the music was, what a fun time guests had on the dance floor, and how wonderful the acoustic music was. Marie managed my anxiety over pictures and made the entire day easier for all of us. It was the perfect day because of the professionalism, attention to detail, and expertise of Soundwave. The booking process was super simple and the online planner really helped us hone in on what we wanted/ didnt want while still leaving the details to the true professionals. Our dance floor was packed from start to finish for our whole wedding. I had multiple guests comment on how this is the best wedding playlist ever. While I know people will just say that in the moment and know we are a bit biased, I would agree! DJ MAK was great at reading the crowd and pleased everyone from my old aunts our wildest friends. We couldnt recommend soundwave and DJ MAK more.
