It’s been 2+ weeks since I requested my medication - numerous phone calls, voicemails, in person, requests to speak with the office manager (who’s btw never available) - and still nothing. Incompetent, unprofessional coordinator that doesn’t know how to do her job or return patient’s phone calls. If you need any testing done - get ready for a LONG wait too. Mine was an hour plus, all because they took the wrong patient in my place. Clearly not capable of keeping track of patients in the waiting room. As they were trying to figure out the mixup the front desk person was so unprofessional and unapologetic. Uncomfortable to watch as a patient. The MRI staff was great. Also, my appointment that was scheduled 2 months ahead of time was cancelled and moved out by another month. No explanation given.Go someplace else. I know I will
Let me start by saying that my doctor and infusion nurses are the best. However, the receptionists and staff are horrible. Run, don’t walk away from this place. I have now been yelled at by two different employees here- once when trying to make my original appointment and once when picking up forms that I have left 4 voicemails and sent 2 emails about. These people are so mean and have 0 compassion especially when you consider that they work at a place for very ill people. I’ve never felt less like a speck of dirt than what these people make me feel like.
When I have appointments, they go fast and smoothly, but CALLING this place is a huge pain. Long hold times, and about 1/3 of the time, I get hung up on. Just today, I sat on hold, someone finally picks up, acts like they cant hear me and hangs up. I call right back and it goes STRAIGHT to voicemail. This has happened before as well. Sometimes they pick up and hangup without saying anything or calls just drop on hold, after sitting on hold for 20, 30 or 40 minutes.I have to call monthly and I try to be patient, but this is starting to get me angry.
If i could give zero stars i would, this is a completely unprofessional practice, that lied about my appointment time, decided to tell me at the appointment, after i already took the day off, i needed to get covid tested before being seen. only once i was sitting down for 45 minutes already, did they even send me the new patient paperwork, for them to tell me that i cant even be seen today. very disappointed that there is such a long wait time for an appointment and then they send you away at the door. glad theres someone who cares about patient care
Upon my initial appointment with Dr. Argyriou, I was very unsatisfied with the service and treatment I received. Once I was finally seen by the doctor, after waiting well over an hour past my scheduled appointment time, I felt unfairly judged, dismissed, and was not even given the courtesy of being able to give my complete health history due to being interrupted and/or spoken over by the doctor several times. As such, I WILL NEVER RETURN NOR WOULD I EVER RECOMMEND OR ALLOW ANYONE I EVEN REMOTELY CARE ABOUT WASTE THEIR TIME AT THIS HORRENDOUS HEALTHCARE FACILITY.
I love my NP, Laura Buck, and my neurologist from my childhood, Dr. Anand. Theyve been extremely helpful over the decade-plus that Ive been seeing them. However, the phone system can be extremely frustrating, especially over the last few months, and its caused me a lot of stress in the last couple of weeks in particular, as Im trying to renew my drivers license, and nobody called me back about the paperwork, so I had to physically go to the office to drop it off and bully the front desk man about it, only for them to call me back while I was driving away to say the paperwork was finished, despite the front desk guy saying that it would not be done that day. Something is very wrong with the management of the place, I will admit, but Im sticking with it because my doctor and NP have been treating me well for years (epilepsy & ADHD, if that helps anyone).
I think I made an appt here but, no one called to confirm like any other office does? When I tried to check.....I sat on hold for 30 mins !? This is my 1st experience with this office? I dont know if I ever got a consultation approval either? Why would anyone put up with service like this when dealing with your health?? So Disrespectful.... Hire some office help who care! Consider this is my cancelation notice, if I do have an appointment ?! Was just trying to be considerate, unlike you !
The staff is very curtious and compassionate. Everyone is soo helpful and truly caring in this hard time. The office is very diligent with Covid protocols and the doctors are doing both virtual and phone visits to accommodate everyones situation. I definitely recommend and give them two big thumbs up.
Ive used this practice occassionally for a year or two. When dealing with them, Ive been consistently annoyed with over bureaucracy and inconvenience. I spend forever on the phone any time I want to make anything happen. You have to leave messages for your doctor to ask questions or communicate and once I waited a long time with no response only to find they never actually recorded my message in the first place. The worse instance for me was the following. I was not told I required a follow up appointment in order to maintain a perscription. So suddenly I was not able to fill a prescription and the earliest appointment I could make was about 3 weeks later. And when the time came for the appointment, they called me with less than 24 hours notice to tell me I would have to reschedule because the doctor was on vacation. And they would not give me any sort of priority for rescheduling so I had to wait even longer before I finally got in.Go with them if they are your only choice, but I would avoid them if you can.
Well as you see theres a serious problem with this business. Rude administrative staff, Paige & Kate both people who communicate poorly with clients,Paige behaves inappropriately & passive aggressively with clients & the elderly on the phone; while Kate has neither management, nor personal skills when it comes to her staff or Client relationships respectively. I have witnessed both recently in breach of conduct with a patient during routine phone exchanges. Maybe they will be the reason this office is reported to a couple agencies. Then again, who really is worse, patients with legitimate health concerns seeking healthcare & help from a 2 star office, or low life’s who mistreat clients & patients because they have no patience and even less class, as people..
They say that theyre accepting new patients but it takes 2+ weeks to schedule an appointment. Follow up appointments are about 4 weeks out. I read other reviews that recommended to avoid this place due to the lack of available appointments, but decided to go anyway. I regret doing so.My recommendation is to find another place as the office staff is not helpful in scheduling new appointments and there are other locations that can get you in quicker. Especially if you want results that can be reviewed within a reasonable amount of time.
This post is long over due but hopefully it still helps someone. Last summer I saw Dr. Loftus for my migraines and dizziness that I was suffering from after a car accident. I had to wait a month to even see this doctor as well. It was scary considering I never had migraines before and my migraines were so bad I thought I was going to have a seizure or stroke. When I finally saw the Doctor, he told me that he “had no idea what was wrong with me”. He ordered an MRI and a VNG for the dizziness. Thankfully the MRI came back normal but the VNG said I had vertigo. After having this test repeated with an ENT the diagnosis was wrong and I do not have vertigo. I was told it was because a Technician read the results and not a Physician. My problem is Dr. Loftus did absolutely nothing to help or even diagnose me. He didn’t even try to possibly educate himself on my symptoms even after the fact. With the help of my Physical Therapist and some research, we were able to self diagnose myself and seek proper treatment. I will never go back here again.
Receptionist are extremely rude and unprofessional. When working as a receptionist you are the first face and voice people hear so itd be nice if you all changed your tone of voice and attitude when getting approached. Called to say I do not have any recollection of the schedule that was set for me and the girl over the phone gave me an attitude as if i asked her for everything she doesnt have in life. All I was asking was to please cancel . I nicely went to said have a good day... and mid sentence she hangs up on me. No mater how slammed you are at work, there is no need to hangup on anyone who is being pleasant, something you All lack at. Great job hiring manager ... really I wish I had the ability you have to pick a friendly reception team :)
While there is always an incredibly long wait, I have never felt more confident with a Neurologist than I do seeing the staff over at Southshore Neuro. Both Barbara and Dr. Gudesblatt have taken the time to speak with me in depth, go over my options in detail, and tell me information most other doctors would not. I am appreciative of their service, their friendly staff, and the treatments they continue to prescribe in order to treat my MS - its almost as if I dont have it some days. Results tend to come in quickly, its just booking an appointment to discuss said results thats the kicker. There is always someone willing to take my phone call if I should have any questions, however. Ill miss them when I leave NY!
So far I’ve been on hold for 4hrs and 30mins. I would love to leave a review of this place but unfortunately it seems as if I’ll never get an appointment. I tried calling at 4pm and although I know that’s kind of late in the day it does say that the office is open till 5pm. The message stated that the office was closed but that I could stay on the line to make an appointment… but that was 4 and a half hours ago. Supposedly I’ve been 2nd in the queue for well over an hour. This is really sad, if they can’t take the call the message should state that.
I have not had a wonderful experience here. Dr. Xian does not have bedside manner and does not make me feel confident inside. Just because I have epilepsy does not mean I need to be depressed and feel like nothing. No matter what our differences are we can still enjoy life. We also do not need to be lecture at every single appointment either. You can also see how your patient is doing before you say hello to her husband. If you looking for a comfortable and communicative doctor I do not see it in Dr. Xian.
If I could give this practice no stars I would. I had 2 MRIs done here both came back with abnormalities and I NEVER received a phone call regarding my results. After harassing the office with messages for actual MONTHS I finally found out my diagnosis. I then started physically therapy upstairs within the office.. my PT Jerry is wonderful and I appreciate him greatly however being that I go twice a week sometimes I need to change the times of my appts etc and they don’t answer the phone, ever. I’ve literally never called there and had them answer the phone in addition, I leave a message very clear for them to understand it and to call me back and they’ve called me back only ONCE out of a dozen times. This place is a joke of a business.
Saw Dr Mebrahtu and could not be happier. He is a very thorough, competent and kind Dr. His medical assistant, Ms Yajama, is just as incredible. Handling multiple tasks at once all with professionalism and a smile to boot. What also stands out besides these 2, is the competency and professionalism of the whole office staff. When you arrive and when you leave, you deal with separate staff that specifically do each aspect of your visit. I have been going to Drs for many years and have never seen such an efficient system. They do everything you need at one time, do not need to be told nor reminded of anything because they make sure everything you need is completed properly the 1st time. They do all this again with a smile, a happiness and professionalism that is rarely seen these days and even rarer in most medical offices. Everyone here from the Dr to all the support staff are very good at what they do and seem to really enjoy doing their jobs very well.
I decided to go to this practice after leaving the other MS specialist I was seeing because my Doctor left, the only reason I choose to try this practice was for Doctor Zerif. I had many problems in the year that I have been with South Shore Neurologic associates! I had issues with prior authorizations for both my medication as well as MRIs; was told that prior authorizations were not necessary however they most certainly were! Had prescriptions called in in properly, even after speaking with both the doctor as well as his assistant. I had to call the insurance company myself to get the prior authorization for my much needed daily medication (that I could not do without!!) I also had several occasions where my infusion was not handled properly ! Very unhappy when I receive the postcard stating I needed a visit in July my doctors name Dr. Zerif was whited out and I was told to see a nurse practitioner! The only reason I was with this facility was for doctor Zerif! I would not recommend you wasting your time or money with this establishment!
This organization is terrible! My doctor was great, however, my prescription did not go into Express Scripts (after 2 days they were still waiting for my doctors authorization)...in the meantime, I was suffering from painful spasms and pain due to a pinched nerve! I called my doctors office crying from pain- no one got back to me regarding this issue ...And I called three times!!!Upon my initial visit, they quickly took my co-payment and readily scheduled me for an MRI and EMG test but in the meantime, I laid on my back from pain without my prescription being filled!I left an angry, tearful voicemail at Dr Firoztale(excuse spelling) answering machine but still no response..this tends to make me feel like they were saying youre on your own kid. Thanks for the copayment !!!What a way to treat patients! People please go elsewhere! Take it from me, you wont get the necessary care you deserve, especially if you need a prescription filled...
Unfortunately this practice is not a good option if you have an emergency , unable to get an appointment for weeks or months if your having a problem. Very disappointed , Ive been a patient of Dr. Xion for many years and the best they could do was an appointment with the P.A. in 3 weeks, even though the P.A. said I should follow up with the doctor because she couldnt offer me any further care for my migraines.
When I call to make an appointment, Anna G. really goes out of her way to help me and is a total sweetheart! If I get anyone else they seem to be in a bad mood and try to rush the call or transfer me to someone else. I appreciate her answering my questions and getting my appointments made quickly without any issues. Other than that, the wait time is atrocious.
Dr. Xian, and Dr. Vaillancourt are EXTREMELY unprofessional and rude. I saw Dr.V first for injections on a monthly basis. One instance, my gf came with me, and he made an inappropriate comment about her attire. It made her feel very uncomfortable and upset me too so i immediately changed Drs. I started seeing Dr. X for my injections. I had a tumor in my head 20 years ago which caused permanent damage with my back, right hand/wrist, and right leg, with footdrop. Ive been tested yearly since this happened with MRIs, and have been clear of any tumors. After Dr. X gave me botox injections for my footdrop for about a year, I went to my follow up appt. and explained that it was not working well for me, as he expected it to be. I asked him for any other methods to relieve pain and pressure. He didnt like the fact that his botox plan was failing me. He became very hostile, rude and defensive and said, you have brain damage from the tumor thats why its not helping, you should get a brain MRI as soon as possible. He spoke over me as i tried explaining my MRIs are up to date. I left the office feeling completely hopeless, and unheard. Nobody should ever be made to feel this way. In my opinion, this practice should re-educate their Drs, and teach them about compassion for the patients.
Worst doctors office I have ever had to deal with! My 83 year old mother is a patient and I make and take her to all her medical appointments. The doctors are fine but dealing with the office staff is an absolute horror!!! Cannot make appointments, never have the following months schedule - I could go on and on - Run do not walk away from this office!!
This practice is very incompetent. My daughter was seen by a PA who prescribed migraine medication failing to inform her that this medication combined with Tylenol could have fatal results. She also had an appointment that she attended to in order for a specific RX to be filled. One month after visit, RX still not called in; she went to the office to complain plus I called the doctor and a week later, RX still not called in. A week after this, they finally called in the RX to the mail order company but couldnt send over a 2-week supply to the local pharmacy without a phone call from her and from myself.Total incompetence!!!!!!
I hesitate to even give one star. It took forever for me to get the results of my MRI after multiple phone calls and now I have been calling for 2 months and can not get a follow up appointment. Today is February 13th and they still dont have a March calendar! How can they practice medicine this way? Unbelievably irresponsible! Terrible office practices! Find another neurologist - I know I am going to. I give up!
This is a great place that covers most all aspects of neurology. It’s so great to go to a place and when I go for testing they know my doctor and the test results are cohesively worked with my doctors.I see Dr. Gudesblatt and to say he is amazing is an understatement. Something that typically averages over 2.5 years to diagnose he diagnosed in 3 months.
Saw them for about a year due to injuries from an accident and never listened to my needs/concerns but it was through no fault so didnt have much of a choice. Now here we are years later and Ive been trying to contact them for over 2 weeks to get my medical records released first with leaving a message and second with a fax with a signed release of medical records. They do not answer their phones or return requests
Ive been using South shore neurology for almost 2 years .I saw a neurologist 2-3x per year Dr Bernbaum .she was great. She managed my spinal injury using pain management and medicine. She left the practice and got assigned a new Dr. Dr Razza, he basically threw me out of his office said he did t want to treat me and that a neurologist doesnt treat spinal injuries. The staff looked at me with horror because of the way he treated me. The practice before this Dr was good so I dont want to condemn the whole practice but Dr Razza was as unprofessional as they come. Now Im looking for a new neurologist.
I dont know what everyone is complaining about, Ive been going to these offices for nearly 4 years and have never had an issue with the doctors or the staff. I highly recommend going here, though it can take time to get an appointment and be seen.Edit: calling over the phone can leave you on hold for hours sometimes.
Dr Guddesblatt is a genius! What 14 specialist couldn’t do he did in one visit ! the Nursing staff is amazing in the infusion center. Susan the physical therapist saved my wife’s life! The Doctirs and staff truly live what they do and believe in helping their patients. Couldn’t say enough about this facility!!!
NP. Patricia Grant, Dr. Antigone Argyriou, and the ENTIRE staff at S.S.N are the most wonderfully kind and compassionate medical professionals Ive ever visited. Ive never felt so cared for, protected or comfortably confident in my doctors abilities as I did with them today. I highly recommended this practice.
Worst place ever. Doctors do not know your name, just push you though like sheep. Never answer phone calls, do not really even care. always a long wait even though appointments are at a specific time you must give an extra hour at least of sitting int he waiting room. They are extremely rude as well. Never going back here. Its bad enough when you have a debilitating disease, then you have to go there and get treated like a number not a person.
I didnt even get as far as to get an appointment with this practice. There was such poor and rude service in regards to making an appointment, I just told them I would find a different Doctor and practice to work with because their staff was horrible with communication. The Office Manager and other related customer service staff should really think about the way they treat people when trying to schedule new Patients or they will end up not having any at all.
This place used to be a great place for MS patients, but its gotten too big for its britches. Too many patients and not enough doctors or NPs. They dont fill your prescriptions on time or call you way to late after theyre already sent to your pharmacy. The NPs dont have MS, so they really cant understand what ppl w/ MS go through.
Went to this practice was completely dismissed and wrongly diagnosed as having just muscle pain. Only sent for xrays. Never had an mri ordered. Now years later having changed doctors and having an mri .Finding I have 4 herniated disc in my neck. Needed to see a neurosurgeon and have surgery. I suffered terrible pain and was always made to feel like it was in my head and dismissed. Also found out I had a seizure disorder that went untreated and unmedicated by this practice. The only thing they helped me with was migraine headaches throwing pills at me.
I wish I could give a zero. Impossible to get through on the phone. They block you at the front door. Signs say, no one can enter without appointment. Great but no one answers the phone. Tried for 2 days. Best advice I can give you regarding this place is run don’t walk from here. Very unprofessional very nasty very rude.
Im having horrible seizures and my doctor referred me to see a neurologist. I tried making a appointment and they kept asking me why are you making appointment? what do you mean why am i making a appointment? obviously im calling to see a doctor. The lady hanged the phone up on me
This is a great place the 2 drs that specialize in MS is awesome, I used Dr.gudesblatt for a long time, but unfortunately its hard to get an appointment to see him and not his nurse practitioners (they are excellent but when I go for my MS physical I like to see the Dr. himself, the only thing with Dr.gudesblatt you have to wait in the waiting room at least 45minutes, but he is a great neurologist I just dont have the time to wait,as I cant drive and I have to depend on other people. So I switched to Dr.zarif hes also excellent, and he came from stony brook hospital and he dealt with my sister there who also had MS. When I call to make an appointment for my MS physical, I ask to have him and I do get him,and not the nurse practitioners and you dont have to wait as long in the waiting room for him.I highly recommend those 2 drs if you have MS!!!
GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS! ...THE PLACE IS FULL OF YOUNG GIRLS IN ROYAL BLUE SCRUBS RUNNING ALL OVER THE PLACE ...IT RESEMBLES AN SNL VERSION OF A TWILIGHT ZONE EPISODE ...INCOMPETENT, UNINFORMED AND UNCARING GIRLS THAT MAKE THE PAIN WORSE FOR A PAIN PATIENT TRYING TRY TO GET INFO ON REFERRALS, AUTHORIZATIONS, MEDS, TEST RESULTS, APPOINTMENTS AND ANYTHING ELSE RELATED TO TREATMENT ...ONE MUST FIRST GET THROUGH THIS WALL OF GIRLS IN AN ATTEMPT TO GET TO A DOCTOR ...THE PROVIDERS SEEM COMPETENT BUT ITS DIFFICULT TO SEE THE FOREST FOR THE TREES THROUGH THIS TANGLE OF GIRLS! ...THEY NEED TO PRUNE THIS OVERSTOCK OF USELESS GIRLS WITH A STAFF OF COMPETENT ADULTS .

2022-01-05Waited over a month for my appointment. I arrive there today to be told they stopped taking my insurance. They never called me or anything to let me know. Now I have to start this whole process over again with someone else. Waste of my time, and my injury is not getting better with these delays.

2022-08-03Honestly, this clinic is a roll of the dice. If you are polite with the front desk, they are usually nice to you. The Med assistants and LPNS are wonderful. Never had a bad run in with anyone here. Dr Arguriou (that spelling is probably wrong) does my spine injections and she is professional, she will tell you what she can do and she will also tell you what you can’t do!The reason for my less than 5 stars is the fact that the office has had a lot of turn over and mis organization. There is no way to directly speak to my care team. They don’t send out letters when big changes happen, such as when the provider you see suddenly quit the practice. I usually only see him every 3 months and only discovered he was gone when I needed an emergency appointment. They had over 2.5 months to notify me!! So now they have added all the exodus providers case load to another doctor in Riverhead (same practice, different clinic). I will review them separately because that experience has a whole different vibe. Patchogue has its rough edges, but once they sort through some turn over, I’m hopeful they can get back on track. I’ll update this review on my next appointment.

2022-06-27Believe all the Negative Reviews. Waited over a month for an appointment, they call the DAY BEFORE my appointment saying it has to be rescheduled for another 2 weeks out. If a Patient did that they would be crying about charging for the appointment. These so called Doctors are getting worse and worse around here....

2022-07-22Appointment with Dr. Raza to review MRI of brain. I was very concerned and Dr. Raza performed a exam, spent time going over the MRI, explaining the findings and eased my fears. A battery of tests will be conducted and I feel comfortable in his hands. Glad I came back to South Shore Neurologic.Jack ReillyEast Patchogue

2022-05-25I am at Southshore in Patchogue weekly, every Tuesday 4 to 6 hrs for infusion. The infusion staff is always kind and helpful. The nurses are excellent and wonderful and infusion is always a comfortable because of the nurses. Infusion dept is excellent and patient care is 5 stars. I have been a patient of Dr Gudasblatt since he was across from Southside hospital about 25 yrs now. I would have NEVER gotten diagnosed and better if it wasnt for him. I owe him my life. I wouldnt be walking If he didnt give up on finding out what was wrong with me. I refuse to hear and see comments that are negative. People complain about waiting. Do you want your time with the doctor? , then allow him time with others. We are all humans and have feelings. I am sure like anywhere you may get a person in a bad mood or having a bad day. Doctors nurses assistants etc Theyre Human beings like us, just held to a higher standards . They work very hard. They take care of people. Patience is a virtue.

2021-12-17This office is the worst for returning patient phone calls. I have been leaving messages on the coordinators voice mail regarding my medication, which was sent to the wrong pharmacy. I was told she would have the doctor resend it to the correct pharmacy, that was two days ago. That was never done. I have left numerous messages. My calls are not returned. This is the most unprofessional office I have ever had to deal with.

2021-12-08I only gave this place two stars because Laura Buck has been one of the best medical professionals Ive ever had the joy of working with. As for the office she is working out of, 0 stars from me. There is a complete lack of professionalism as well as reliability. Tried calling the office twice to schedule an emergency appointment and was on hold for approx. 30 minutes the first time for it to sound like it was answered but no one spoke to me. The second time, I was put on hold for 28 minutes to finally be the first one in the cue which led to my phone ringing for an additional 10 minutes. 68 minutes of my life wasted trying to contact this office due to an URGENT concern all to be transferred to a voicemail. This is also not the first time I have had issues with South Shore Neuro. A while back, one of their MAs called me from their Islip office to tell me that I had mild sclerosis which had sent me into a panic attack at work. After calling the office multiple more times that day to confirm my diagnosis, I finally got a call back later that afternoon to finally be told that I had only mild scoliosis and that the MA had slipped up due to her bilingual abilities? The building manager then claimed to have spoken to this MA and apologized on her behalf. (Of course this was only after I had made a complaint about it to Dr. Anand)
