They put a pool in for me 2 years ago and I have had nothing but issues with the pool and the service I get from them since. I am still using their weekly service in hopes of them helping with the on going issues but as of now service has been awful! UPDATE 6/6/19 To add to this review my pool was in need of a new liner (they took no responsibility for this but also could not explain how or why the damage happened even though they were the only ones doing the weekly service) Joe the sales guy came to my home with his typical awful attidude / disposition and told me today that my attitude needs to go and if I dont take this review off Google they will not do the work.... Good luck with these people if you decide to take their low ball #.
They came to change a light bulb in my in ground pool. They charged me 247 dollars to change this light bulb. They charged 185.00 for an hourly service charge but were out of here in 15 minutes. If i would have known it was 247 to change a light bulb i would have left it dead. I spend hundreds of dollars here every summer but after this i am considering looking for a different pool supply store. I think there is one not to far down the road. $247 to change a light bulb. RIDICULOUS
I am relieved the pool building process is complete. As much of an overwhelming task as it is, South Shore Pools simplified it and made the process manageable. From the onset, Andrew, the sales lead, was thorough and honest. The demolition and installation, led by Paul, was smooth. When we had an issue with our salt board, they replaced it within two days. We also had a few pvc elbows that were leaking and they came and tightened them immediately. Thank you South Shore Pools for everything. We cant wait for our first summer to be here.
ZERO stars. I spent a LOT of money in this store this summer on pool supplies. Last month I bought a Cover Care Supreme cover pump for $60+. I used it ONCE. The second time I tried to use it it failed. Today I took it back to South Shore Pools and the woman there refused to take it back or even so much as offer a discount on a new. She basically told me I was SOL and could not have cared less. This store DOES NOT stand behind what it sells AT ALL. Nor do they give a damn about satisfying even repeat customers. I will NEVER spend another dime at South Shore Pools.

Up until today I would say pretty good but today there customers service and willingness to listen to the issue at hand rather then come up with excuses and tell me how great there techs are. I was disconnected.You think they would call back but no.Time bad thought I found a good company.Oand to the person i spoke with on the phone the highest recorded wind gust lsdt night and up till 8am this morning was 8 miles and hour .🤔
I am at the end of my pool installation and have nothing but rave reviews for South Shore! The different crews that were assigned to complete specific work were on time and kept their appointments, they explained the process and were always polite and professional. When there was a bump in the process it was handled. As with any construction project things happen along the way...but it is the end result that counts. Patty and Ruth were wonderful answering questions and beyond professional. This is a seasonal business and we all want everything done by the beginning of the summer, be flexible...and polite and you will receive it back! I am thrilled with my experience with South Shore Pools and would highly recommend them.
Our experience with this company was a pleasure. From design to final product the transition was amazing. They are highly recommended. The service dept. has an amazing respectful staff who are on point with any questions asked. When dealing with masonry division the salesman knew what product he was selling and answered all questions to our expectation.
A terrific company if you like your pool bright green. My pool was green the entire summer and yet they charged me for weekly visits only to tell me I need a new filter at the end of summer. I wound up closing my pool early after swimming in it twice. Do not use this company
Had pool built last year. Very happy, Steve and Patti are very helpful and professional. I’d highly recommend this company to anyone thinking of getting a pool.
Do NOT use these crooks, I had gone to south shore pools on March 22nd and gave them 1,000 down to replace me pool liner. I was assured that since i came so early in the season that im 1st on there list and my liner would be replaced by Memorial day.I began calling in May to ask if i have a installation date, I was told my liner was not in yet. I called 5 times in May and was told the same thing. I had gone to the store on May 28th and DEMANDED my money back. I was told that it still was not in yet, imagine that? 2 months and still no liner. I was also told new pool installs come first, I thought it was first come first served and since i came so early what happened to being 1st on the list? I had gotten my money back and gone to Durite pools where i was told it will take 2 weeks and it was done sooner then that.Bill Renter you know the owner thats why your writing a good review. what else would you say about a friend?
I am a landscape contractor and designer. I know the owner and this company very well. They have great company culture and do beautiful work. They are know for high quality pools, great service, and 2 pool stores on the south shore of Long Island that will help with chemicals, parts and service. I highly recommend them, they always do the right thing.
Terrible company to deal with, dont waste your time. Unable to clean my pool because they did not open it. The only company who has that policy in place. Save yourself the time and hassle.
Not a good pool company. Fails to deliver ontime and holds up work because of poor communication. There are too many pool companies on Long Island. Their price is cheap for a reason, poor product.
Had my liner replaced. Started the job late and took over 3 weeks to complete because they couldnt pump out the underground water fast enough. Did a lousy job, lots of wrinkles and bumps on bottom of pool.
Built our pool 15 years ago. Service it weekly. Always so nice especially Patty and Ruth. Thanks for always being so terrific about answering our questions

Ive never met a more useless group of individuals. You are guaranteed to be sent home with the wrong part if they can even figure out what it is youre asking for.
Should be zero stars ..overpriced and has limited knowledge...save your money and go to island Rec

2022-06-26I have been there twice recently. The first time was when I was finding DE powder in my pool floor, implying that my filter had a tear somewhere inside. A whole new filter costs around $1,000, replacing the filter grid inside would cost around $400, but they had the single part I needed, for around $18.Then I was having trouble getting the chlorine level in my pool water correct. They test pool water for free, so I brought down a sample of water, the attendant put some in their machine, but the machine wasnt working right. So he just took a dipstick test from a bottle, and ran that test. The results from that helped me get my water regulated properly.

2021-02-02Good quality construction but save yourself the hassle and deal with a company that has their act together.The theme of my experience is lack of communication and coordination:1. Starting with the owner, who was pompous and arrogant. On my first and only interaction with him, he waved a wad of cash in my face, complained that time was money, and I was wasting his time. This was all was due to a lack of communication and lost documents in the business office. It was made clear to us that we were just a job for them, and they were more concerned with keeping to a schedule than doing things the right way.2. We were promised at contract signing the pool work would be coordinated with the contractor performing my landscaping. They never returned his calls. He ultimately stopped by the office for updates, which they did not provide. All coordination was last minute and not communicated with advanced notice to have the contractor be available.3. The office informed us that the pool was complete. My husband called twice about concerns the salt system functioning properly. It wasn’t until contacting an external pool supply store and testing the water that the company indicated salt was never actually added yet.4. We paid $500 for someone to come, open the pool and explain how things work. This never happened. We were never refunded the money and have learned about the pool functions through YouTube and the local pool store.

2020-06-10We had a pool and spa installed this past fall and the pavers completed in the spring. From start to finish South Shore pools was amazing. We met with other companies before choosing them and was very happy with our decision. Not only for there unique pool designs and competitive prices but the professionalservice we received from day 1. Also loved that they did all the masonry as well. Everything went very smooth and any little hiccups that may have happened was always taken care of right away. Joe has been amazing helping us with the process from start to finish. Especially with never having a pool before he has really guided us through the whole process and is always there for us even months after completion. Patty in the office is wonderful as well always calls back right away and very helpful. Excellent company all around with amazing customer service. I can’t say enough good things about them!

2020-06-26In the beginning of this year we had a pool installed by South Shore Pools. We had the pleasure of dealing with the owner Steve and from beginning to end the experience was top notch. I would recommend this company to anyone that will be taking on a large project like this. There office was great to deal with as well !

2019-08-30I have used South Shore Pools for many years now. They do a great job. I never have to worry about my pool because they catch everything, and they fix it right away! One time recently, I emailed them that my liner didnt look quite right, and then I saw a guy in my backyard fixing it THAT DAY! Pool always looks spotless, and the service is excellent. 5 stars.

2021-06-25Went to pick up chlorine tabs was told they couldnt sell to me because i didnt buy last year. i was in there loyalty program not any more. went to leslies they had plenty no questions asked. as a senior and life long resident of E.I. I find this very sad. I called to inquire on this policy and was told do what ya gotta do. NO STARS.

2020-08-07Someone in my neighborhood got a pool done by them. Sign in front of the yard. I liked the pool size is exactly what im looking for. I inquired today and called the number on the sign. Female receptionist told me they cant not take my call nor I can speak with a sales representative since theyre book until the last day of august.I guess everyone on long island is getting a pool this month. Makes no sense.

2020-03-22Got a new inground pool installed last fall. The install was painless and reasonably priced. The best part of south shore pool is Patti in the office. She absolutely just takes care of everything. Responded right away to me after the thousand emails I sent with questions. Thank you patti you are awesome.
