Took a chance on this place in an attempt to secure a seasonal campsite when everyone else was full. I was pretty nervous since we never staid there but from the second we pulled our camper in and then when we spent our first weekend there Friday we felt very welcome both by the owners/ staff and the fellow campers! The sites are a nice size and you are in with nature instead of just a cleared field and it was very beautiful! There was so much to do and my 3 small children enjoyed playing with some of the other children there even the children were very well behaved and respectful! My family is very excited to see what the rest of this camping
Clean, friendly atmosphere. Horseshoes, playgrounds, game room, washer & dryers, small store with milk, butter and eggs, and wood. Check out not until 11am a huge plus! Free wifi (bad weather will affect it). 30 amp reliable service. Little beach area with paddle boats. Activities every weekend. Great place for a family or if youre looking for a quiet getaway.
If it were possible to leave 0 stars I would. Bathrooms for the past month (9/2021) have been filthy. There was a boil water order that apparently was because the septic system contaminated the wells, yet they never took the initiative to tell us. WE only found out a couple days later from other campers, not from the management. We never drink the water there because we always used bottled, but we did give it to our dogs an incurred a $200 vet bill because every weekend after camping one of our dogs would have 3 days of diarrhea. Once we found out about the boil water order we gave the dogs bottled water. Problem solved. The manager, is an empty chair who is clearly out of his element. I mean seriously, if the people you hire to clean the bathrooms dont do their job, isnt it then the managers job to see that it gets done and then inspect to make sure? Well thats not happening. Maybe in a year or two they will get these issues worked out.
Friendly office person but not aware of our online reservation then allowed us to head to our pull-thru campsite that didnt exist. Had to back into the site next to it. We felt an undercurrent of hostility from the seasonal campers towards us. Our waves were returned with scowls. We would stay at a walmart next time and feel safer.
We stayed at Woodland Hills Campground for 10 days. We selected it since it was close to Stockbridge and Tanglewood. The location was great. Right off the highway, one mile from a Loves and Dunkin Donuts. Great location if you like to go hiking. We will definitely be back!Pros-*Bathroom and showers were clean*Quiet during the week*Busy during the weekends with families since there are lots of planned activities. It was fun to watch them!* Friendly staff*Friendly campers* Reliable Wifi* Swimming and fishing in the pond*Game room with video games* Multiple play areas* We had a RV site and felt the rate was fineCons -* We heard that they were working on the tent area where they had a water leak issue. I can understand if tent campers were saying that it was muddy there. We didnt hear anyone complaining when we were there, however.
A very poor camping experience for us, especially at $45 per night! We told the host we would be checking in late and he gave us the least level of 3 available side by side spots in what he later admitted was a flood zone. It rained overnight and in the am, we were stuck in the mud which delayed us 2 hours on the road. He had to evaluate our site and had to leave and return with mats to get us out. Then he quickly rolled over the soil for the next camper. The mud was badly caked especially under the whole rear end of the van.The electrical seemed quite old especially considering it is right next to water connection and its held together with electrical tape. There are broken metal screens at the bathroom waiting to scratch your legs. We asked for a refund and he laughed in our faces.
This campground is waaaaaaaaay off the beaten path, over some of the most topsy turvy dirt roads Ive ever driven the MH on. The park is a very nice place to get away from it all. We had to adjust our reservation from 2 nights to one and the cg staff were most helpful. If you want to get way back in the woods and enjoy peace & quiet, WHCG will do the trick.
We stayed here over the past weekend. The good: nice swimming pond with a beach for kids, kid activity provided, fun fishing with lots of small fish for the kids. Very nice staff. The so-so: tent site had no completely level spot to put tent. Camp store was not well-stocked. Bathrooms were not cleaned frequently enough for the heavy volume of traffic. The bad: Quiet hours began at 11PM and were not enforced AT ALL. We had a huge group nearby (family reunion maybe?) that blasted rap music day and night, smoked weed and cigarettes non-stop, and partied loudly until 4AM, screaming, laughing and shouting. Another camper yelled at them to shut up, and they finally did just in time for the birds to start chirping and the sun to come up. The next night, a new party group moved in right next to us and partied until well past midnight. Apparently they’d never been camping because they also continuously walked directly through our site with their flashlights shining in the middle of the night to get to the single bathroom on our side of the campground and then left garbage all over their site. They could have used some friendly reminders from the staff.Overall: Decent daytime experience, rough sleeping experience.
I have been coming to this campground for about 25 years since my children were young. There first jobs were here and now that they have families of there own they still camp here. It is very well kept campgrounds and clean. There are many structured themed activities on the weekend for kids of all ages. There is fishing, swimming, and paddle boats also. We do have rules but that is to benefit everyone. I would recommend this campground to everyone.
We wanted a vacation where we could camp and do some hiking on the AT, some swimming & some adventuring, & Woodland Hills hit the spot! We initially booked 3 nights, but it was very easy to add a 4th night when we wanted to stay. The folks who run the campground are very kind, and full of smiles. Despite not being regulars, we felt very welcomed by everybody there. We took a couple day trips to local hiking spots & Jiminy Peak. We will definitely be back again! Highly recommended!
The best campground ever! Ms. Judy & Ms. Holly are wonderful! Friendly campers, clean facilities, centralise restrooms (4 stalls) and two shower stalls, man made lake area with floating island to lay out, beach shoreline area, etc. Also have water spigots around the campsite to rinse dishes.Main building has sundries and items for sale.Make sure to download gps directions. It is very dark at night with no lights to the campsite.
Can’t really give them more than 3 stars. Needed an overnight stay close to I-90, which this satisfies. We were in a pretty rudimentary site with mostly grass, mud and very little gravel. Full hook ups but $51 a night is pretty steep considering the condition of the site and park. I wouldn’t stay here again.
This camp site gets lowest rank in our camping (tent) experience so far. It seems like this place has stopped in 1980s. Someone had a great idea with this campsite and it just stopped in 80s. Recreation center is in bad condition, toilet are pit toilets (really? in 2018?). One shower room (only 1). Tent sites were full of water streams. People with tent, please look somewhere else. I gave 2 star because of music evening next to the mini beach.
I am only giving a 2 star because the woman over the phone was very nice as she was also upon check in.....however....this was the most expensive campground we stayed at in over 2 months on our cross country trip. There seem to be more people who actually live there than are camping there. The bath house needs some serious work. Both the toilets and the showers especially need some TLC. Our fire pit was in such disrepair we didnt want to use it plus it hadnt been cleaned and there were beer cans from a previous tenant. I think it would be a good idea if they spent some of the VERY high rent they are collecting and fix things up. I almost felt like I was living in a homeless camp. Because I live on the West Coast I will probably never be returning to this area but if I was I wouldnt be camping at Woodland Hills.
Real nice quiet family place. Bathrooms were so clean😀 Went w two of my sisters and my niece. We had a great time! The site was big. They announce activities throughout the day...my niece played ball, swam in lake, played ping-pong and shot pool, & made a necklace at craft time. They also have a playground and have diff themes each wknd. We were too late for a cowboy shoot out. For the adults there was horseshoes and bingo in the evening. Mostly seasonal people w nice campers & decks built but we pitched a tent. Everyone was so nice. We will def be going back. Only negative would be some areas are by swampy water w lots of bugs so bring the deet! Also be sure to bring plenty food as the stores are quite a ways from there I hear. Although there is your typical camp store. You cant bring your own wood and the camp store wood burns REALLY fast.We kept it going w a lot of the kindling and branches around our site. Plus the last campers left us some of theirs. The service is shotty so you can use your phone if you need to... maybe..so be sure to tell family back home not to worry if they dont get your we made it here call.☺ All in all if you have kids to occupy this is the place. If you go and want to play your music loud and party hard w a bunch of friends I wouldnt recommend it. They announce quiet time at I think it was 10pm. 11?
I would not recommend this campground as an over-nighter and I would strongly caution big rigs to choose somewhere else.We have a 34 class-A with a tow, and where they tried to shove us would best serve as a tent site. We insisted on a better location when we almost couldnt get out of the first hole they put us in. Uneven grass/mud with 30 amp only and no sewer hook up. They finally stuck us in the side of the parking lot by a power pole. Then they asked if we were planning on using our AC. They charge extra if you turn your AC on. This was July 2013.The place seems like a real nice trailer court. But lets be honest, it IS a trailer court.
This is a large campground primarily occupied by people who have stored their travel trailers and fifth wheels here forever. They have built decks and porches and come here on weekends or for the season. It is oriented around old people and their grandchildren. There is a lake and activities for kids. It is down a dirt road accessed from another dirt road. It is a LONG DISTANCE from Tanglewood, Lenox and the other wonderful venues for music and theatre. It takes at least a half hour to get to a super market. This place is FAR AWAY. If you have T-moble forget about getting onto the internet. If you have Verizon you can get two bars. The WiFi the camp provides is a joke.On the positive side the place is clean and dog friendly but no dog park. If you want to get away from it all this is the place. Bring plenty of food. If you are coming to the Berkshires for the music and theatre you will be disappointed. And if you try to leave early, they will keep your money. There is a $5 extra charge for using A/C. And the dirt road is rocky and dark. Lots of tent camping and they allow tents on the RV sites.
They neglected to tell us that the place was party central.we were subjected to ear splitting music from the next site late into the night. They should tell people that guiet time isnt until 11:pm. So tired travelers who need sleep be warned find another place to spend the night.

2022-06-13We are seasonal at Woodland Hills, and I am so excited for the upgrades that are happening right now and the ones that are about to happen. This campground is so pretty it has a lovely pond the staff is wonderful and hard-working. It’s so close to so many beautiful places in New York and Massachusetts. The upgrade of the water was a big plus. It’s quiet at night and it’s in a beautiful wooded area. It’s not your typical field with one camper after the other most of the sites are private. Looking forward to the new office building and the new pool. Keep up the good work…

2022-06-07I have been here when it was owned by Woodland Hills and had an awesome time. The people running it were friendly and very helpful if something was broken or if you had a question about anything they were helpful and friendly. They had activities for the kids every weekend a very friendly and family oriented.NOW my experience with the new management Her name is Melody, was less than welcoming or friendly . I pulled in and all the playgrounds for the kids are gone no activities at all broken water spikets. All of the seasonal were moved after they already paid for the spots they were in and they were told if they didn’t like it they could leave with no refund. 3600 dollars when it was 2400 for the season with less to do. Also can’t take garbage to dumpster because it’s overflowing. Warning do not go to the office for any Questions because you will get screamed at and threatened that you will be told to hook up and leave by the manager Melody. When I left I rode around to look at the other sites the only place there were campers were the seasonal section and that’s only because they already paid and I talked to at least 4 other campers that said they will not be back next year. But the other parts looked like a ghost town . When it was owed by Woodland Hills and not a corporation was so much better. I will be contacting the corporate office but probably won’t get anywhere so if you want a nice and friendly family welcoming camping experience At a reasonable price I suggest you go elsewhere. If you go on Facebook and comment on their posts they take them down if they don’t like what is said and stop you from being able to comment any more.

2022-05-30Been here last year when it was owned by old owners and was very pleased with everything and was excited to come back this year. Just visited for the long weekend with our kids and wasnt to happy with all the changes. Last year they had bands on the weekends, bingo and activities for the kids. Just a heads up no more bingo or bands coming back but outside activities will start after school ends. No playgrounds yet but will be in soon they said. Idk why they will be putting in a pool even tho the pound is there. They have a jump pillow. Wifi is not working at this moment and service sucks here. Some sites are not working for electrical so have to plug in other sites witch cause confusion. Grass by the sites and where you walk on trails were super tall and not fun with our dog. Heads up only B section is now seasonal so can reserve most other sites that you want BUT website sucks to reserve so call ! They do make you pay extra to make sure you get the site you want and locks it. We might try this place 1 more time.

2022-06-092nd year as a seasonal camper. Last year old owners this year Spacious Skys. To say we are disappointed is an understatement. They closed a perfectly good rec hall, took down both play grounds prior to the new ones being there. No more weekend activities for kids, no more bands, took out the horseshoe pits, and put in a jump pillow they will not open weekly for the kids, only on the 4 holidays. We have two young children and this is a nightmare for them. Also raised rates and took away all amenities. Right now Spacious Skys is in breach of the contract we signed last year and debating whether to take further action. The contract I signed ensured we would see the value in the upgrades for the 2022 season so we decided to pay the 1200 more that asked for the season and got scammed. I would like the owners to contact me personally to discuss because the management is nothing but uneducated know nothing type of people. We were also told by management that its not theyre responsibility to entertain our kids. This is exactly what should be done as well as the adults. I dont know where they come from but should check into all of the other campgrounds around. They ALL offer activities and amenities what else are you paying for. I have had to mow, weed whack, and leaf blow my own site. There are dead tree branches ready fall and injury someone. If you dont offer any amenities or grounds keeping why are we paying 50% more? WE WOULD HAVE NEVER STAYED WITHOUT Amenities! Extremely dissatisfied and would like a phone call from the owners not the management!

2022-06-03After many years of camping here as a kid and an adult, I was very disappointed. No wifi, no service, no rec hall, no playground, jumping pillow wasnt open yet. Rained half the weekend so the pond wasnt really an option, and thats the only thing they have left to offer. They no longer do any entertainment. Bathrooms are disgusting. Considering the prices are so unreasonable, you would think they would actually offer something for the kids to do.

2022-06-02Worst campground we have been to in a long time. We decided to check out Spacious Skies for Memorial Day weekend and ended up disappointed. The problems started as soon as we arrived with our friends who were also staying at a nearby site. The site’s hookups didn’t work and the employees seemed flummoxed when asked where exactly they were supposed to park their camper. They ended up using electric from another site and never were able to use the sewer connection. Someone was supposed to come back to fix it the next day but never showed. The grass wasn’t cut and it rained on and off throughout the weekend so if you had to use any of the facilities, including the bathroom, your feet would be soaked. The water from the hookups and in the bathroom was brown and full of sediment. The shower stalls were the smallest I’ve seen and the shower heads have to be from the 70’s with the mineral buildup to prove it, the water sprays in every direction making for an unpleasant experience. The Wi-Fi never worked and we were told by office staff “it was because of the storm”. This same staff was so rude and unprofessional we avoided the office at all costs. Lastly, the website map advertised 2 playgrounds so you can imagine the disappointment when we realized they both were removed for construction. The whole operation seemed ill prepared with a focus on getting the $ and not pleasing the guests. The prices in the store were outrageous. We won’t be back.

2022-07-03We do a lot of traveling and we will make sure we steer clear of this campground…outrageous prices (2 nights for $180+tax)….we questioned the price…yes, that much because it was a holiday…we don’t mind paying that if the place is decent and well kept…..both bathhouses were so dirty, overrun with cobwebs…just plain gross…(couldn’t bring ourselves to use them)….the sites in section c were almost next to impossible to back into…and to dump at your site, you would need a pump to pump your sewage uphill as the pipe is off the ground about a foot….Wi-Fi is next to none…forget about any tv…no pool as said on their campground paper….(just a pond)….signed up for paint day, went up at 10 am, only to see it was changed to the next day…(we were leaving the next day)…we went on a bike ride, came back, and people were painting…wtheck??? Then they made an announcement 2 hours later they were painting….this place needs a lot of renovations and owners who care…. Can’t say you weren’t forewarned if you decide to stay at this campground….only pleasant thing there was talking to a very nice employee named Mary!!!

2022-06-26Best hidden secret in the eastern part of New York State, next to the Massachusetts border. Friendly people, beautiful sites and family fun !!
