Cute spot but I expected more. Wine was served in water glasses. I’d like my $15 glass of Sauvignon Blanc in a wine glass. Carbonara was salty and the pancetta tasted more like ham. Tables were very close together to where someone had to put their rear on my table to slide in and out. There were plenty of empty tables but they still decided to sit us right on top of a party of 4. Overall it was ok. Would not return.
Very nice spot, just couple blocks from little Italy and its definitely has its magic. We found a spot right by the window, we both shared 1/4 of red wine and ordered 2 pastas.I had the Kyle pesto mix, it was delicious! Im a pesto person so it felt like it was made just for me.My boyfriend had the carbonera and he loved it!You can feel the pasta is home made and it definitely makes a difference!
Best spaghetti in NYC. Have tried Bronx Arthur Ave, $$$$ Italian restaurants, but here you can get $17 spaghetti meatballs thatll beat all of the above. Usually those expensive places have overcooked pasta, ladden with cheese and butter, runny sauce and rich and fatty meatballs. Here the pasta was Al dente, sauce was perfect consistency, very traditional yummy meatballs. Wines are reasonable and they serve bread as starters for free. Best value for money and very authentic. Highly recommend.
Ok. So Im glad I found this spot. The food was cooked fresh. The spaghetti carbonara looks much better than what I got. Looks like the eggs got too hot, but very tasty all the same. Crab and Italian arancini was delish! The salad goes without saying, you! Youll enjoy this place!
Romantic atmosphere, but overall the food was not great. The place is very small and very busy. We did not have a reservation, but they were able to seat us at the bar. The bar area is nice because you get to watch them prepare the food. The service was great and fast. The arancini balls were definitely disappointing. The rice was undercooked and all you could taste was under cooked crunchy rice. We also had the fig toast appetizer that was OK. The final dish was the fresh spaghetti with mozzarella. By far the best dish of the three we had. Not sure I’d go out of my way to go back.
Every time I come here, I am impressed, happy, and satisfied with my pasta. Lots of varied options for spaghetti (surprised?) and a nice range of arancini options as well. The fig toast was also lovely, and felt appropriate for Sunday brunch. If youre with a group of six, try calling early to book the table in their semi-private room.
It was a 5 star evening until the check came. I had no indication ahead of the dinner that the restaurant was cash only. Sure that’s my fault for not looking ahead into this and it wasn’t a big deal until I couldn’t use my card to get money out of the restaurant’s ATM. Had to run in the cold to the bank. Ultimately, it sort of spoiled my experience and was not pleasant. I wish the night had ended differently. I suggest the restaurant make this really clear up front. The sign is very small and unnoticeable.
I do really like this place, I was skeptical about going prior to actually going because I don’t love the name. However, the staff there worked so well and served us even better. In the few times I’ve gone we’ve always gotten 5 star service. Plus the pasta is great and so are the drinks. The drink menu isn’t vast. I think it’s just wines and a spritz, if I remember correctly. But it’s a great experience.
Love this place. We make sure to come here every time we’re in NYC and it never disappoints. Service is always super friendly and fast and the pasta is wonderful! So far we have had the Chitarra, Carbonara, Bolognese, arancini, naked woman salad, the meatballs and my partner had an amazing special last night which was house-made rigatoni with an Arriabata sauce with jalapenos that was SO. GOOD. Highly recommend!!
They sat me down at the counter right behind the microwave and a roll of paper towels. I order the carbonara and a nero something or other red wine. It arrives quickly and I dig in. The carbonara, what can I say...it made me reminisce of an Italian childhood I never had and now I miss my imaginary Italian family which is sad. The wine came in a regular glass...I mean not a wine glass...which I wasnt expecting that because its how my nana used to serve me home made wine at our country home in Tuscany...I mean my imaginary Italian nana, obviously...she pretty much raised me. Back to the restaurant- the atmosphere is cozy but people kept bumping into the back of my seat. My total was $27; I gave the waiter $40 and he asked me if I wanted the change. Overall 4/5. Miss you nana.
This place wasnt good....it was absolutely GREAT! From the service to the best spaghetti 🍝 and bread 🍞 Ive probably ever had! My wife and I went through 4 plates of bread before our main course even got there! Then I had spaghetti and meatballs and my wife had Chitra, WOW! We also had peas and Mozzarella rice ball, excellent! We love this place and will be coming back next trip for sure!
To start with, really nice outdoor seating area and extremely friendly staff.Second, the food was absolutely delicious. We had the Spinach Fettuccine and the Chittara which were each better than the last. You most definitely won’t wanna miss out on a visit to this little gem.
Came here as a treat yourself dinner and I had time to kill in the area. My friend told me this place recently had opened and not gunna lie but the name was super intriguing. The vibe is kinda low-key classy but too chill for any judgement to really take hold. Bread slices and olive oil on the table as well as candles at night give it that classy environment.Staff was very friendly and right away gave me a sign with the specials.Ordered two aracinis and the special jalapeno rigatoni. Everything was really good. Pasta cooked perfectly. Aracinis and sauce were delish. Portions are filling dont worry. Got here Monday as soon as they opened and had no wait. There is outdoor seating as well.Gotta say, it was a nice time. I think it makes a great date spot. Catch up with a friend here. Or do what I did and take yourself out cuz why not.
Spaghetti Incident… More Spaghetti ACCIDENT.I have tried this on three separate occasions and each time it’s been terrible. The food is undercooked, extremely salty, and overall terrible. I’m honestly SHOCKED that this place has such good reviews because in my opinion it is not good at all. Save your money and never go here.
I wish I could give 10 stars. After Italy, this is the best spaghetti/pasta place I’ve ever been. I love how fresh the food and cheese taste. You can either eat there or take it to go in a cone, it’s just the best. They have a good variety of wines to choose to enjoy with a really good pasta and authentic Italian beer. Highly recommended. I live 1.5 hrs away and once in a while i take the drive just to eat at the spaghetti incident.
No better spaghetti in the area (I have tried a couple Italian spots around the area), serving is generous, tasty, and fairly creative. I had the Salmon and asparagus, in white sauce - creamy goodness and filling. Plenty of bread and oil to munch while waiting for appetizers. Good selection of wine, served in a glass - nice touch to keep things casual and relaxed.Place gets loud over weekend dinner service, dont expect a quiet evening; however, it is lively loud, not obnoxious.
This is a fantastic little spot with delicious food. Its casual, and is the perfect place to grab dinner by yourself or with a small group. The food came quick, and the servers made great recommendations. Its cash only with an ATM on premises. If youre in the area, definitely make this a stop for your Italian meal.
The food was awesome. Having the spaghetti be homemade makes a big difference!Service was pretty good. Thought it was odd that they didnt provide fresh silverware after your appetizer, even placing your dirty fork and knife back on the table if you had stacked them on your used dishes. The place is cash only. Although theres an ATM in the back that only charges a $1.50 fee.Atmosphere is nice. Open kitchen design is neat since you can see them prepare the food. Overall a solid experience.
I love this place! Casual space, fine dining taste. Feels like grandma opened a restaurant in her garden room. Its a small space with great atmosphere. Ive never had a bad meal here. Its always in the agenda when Im NYC.The Naked Woman salad is fantastic. The spaghetti dishes are excellent.Highly recommended. Cash only.
Visited this spot while in NY for work in November. It’s a quaint Italian spot with a nice ambiance.Wine selection was fair and the pasta pretty good too. The dish I got was essentially a regular spaghetti but with mozzarella balls within. Tasty - but I found the mozzarella to be a touch rubbery.
This place was okay. andthey had pretty good sauce good bread and the included the spaghetti with a lot of cheese on the side which I really appreciate but the meatballs were hard not juicy and small. It came with for portion was not great although for Manhattan its a decent price
I could not be happier with This restaurant.my daughter and I just wanted pasta, we look something up and we stumbled onto Spaghetti Incident, it small and charming, and the food is absolutely amazing!!!you cannot go wrong.very small menu but everything on it is delicious I suggest the Kale Pesto WoW What a Culinary Delight. clean bathroom quick service great staff. If you look you can find parking outside there are metered spaces a block over 2hrs of metered parking for 7$ .
The food was delicious but the service was very bad. It is cash only but there is no sign whatsoever in the restaurant, the waiters tell you when they bring the check and there is an ATM in the restaurant but there is a $1.50 fee. Also, one waiter was being very rude when my friend asked him what kind of chocolate cake they were offering for dessert, as he responded that they took some chocolate and just made a cake out of it, with butter and flour. At the end, we did not know what kind of chocolate cake it was and we just decided not to go for it. So overall very good food but the staff needs to be better trained and be more respectful to customers.
Looking for a cool italian restaurant to celebrate a friends birthday we found this place and it was a most pleasant surprise. Cash only but great happy hour. Spaghetti so good was enough to amaze my italian wife and friend. Only thing I did not like was the espresso, too much foam. Apart from that, this place is a jewel. Recommended it to my foodies friends.
We stumbled onto this place before going to a show in the Village. Five of us had dinner. I had a kale pesto that was great, and my sister-in-law (who is discerning/picky) had a entree sized sushi-grade tuna salad that she said was wonderful. Five entrees, drinks for three (we had two teenagers with us) all for $113 (before tip). Friendly ambiance, and got a table on a Friday night essentially right away. Not too noisy either. I will definitely go again.
Small, so often a wait to eat in. Food is hearty and tasty. Service is very good with small staff. Tip, if busy, order to go and was ready in 15 minutes, with enough time to wander and watch the street artist spray paint t the newest Lower East Side masterpiece. Also, can order and have delivery. Met the very nice bike delivery guy when was picking up my to go.
Finally I got down to writing a review about one of my most favorite little restaurants down in LES. It’s small, it’s cozy, it’s personal, the pasta is made just right, the sauces are to die for, my favorite is the thick (think udon style spaghetti) with light creamy sauce and pancetta - not as creamy as carbonara but just the right amount. I order it now every time, and I’ve been to this place maybe 30/40? Times. It has never gotten worse. Their house wine - it’s delicious. The salads and apps and deserts. amazing service too.
This small joint is a great little spot to eat classic Italian fare. They serve crusty bread on the table that you can dip in olive oil while you wait for your food. We ordered 3 pasta dishes that were served nice and hot. The mozzarella and pasta in red sauce was fresh and delicious. The meat sauce over pasta is perfect for the picky kid and adult. The arugula salad with goat cheese had fresh tiny tomatoes serves with delicious balsamic dressing. The puttanesca pasta served with olives in a red sauce was savory as well. A nice, intimate neighborhood restaurant with about 10 tables that’s worth the visit. Only drawback is it’s cash only.
Pasta was ok. Did like the food but the service could be slightly better . Its not that they were extremely rude. The one that took my order needed to be more conscious of what they are doing. When he was taking my order almost knocked me in the head with the menu and didnt noticed or apologize. He was just staring off into space. If you are serving someone better be mind present than being spacing off somewhere.
Very disappointed with my experience here. I’ll start with the biggest issue, they only take cash. It says it in small writing at the bottom of the menu and is very easy to miss.We ordered a $50 bottle of wine and it came out in a glass jug. I’m not sure why they didn’t just bring out the bottle and pour it into the jug in front of us, seemed a bit strange.I wanted to order 1 rice ball to start with. When I ordered it they told me I had to order a minimum of two. Which means I’d have to spend $8 rather than $4. It says that no where on the menu. If it said the price was $8 and they said choose two that’d be a different story but instead I was told you can’t have 1 you must have 2.When the bill came they told us it was cash only. Our bill was $80 and we both do not carry that much cash. For a place that looks so nice and charges that much for food and drinks I do not understand why they do not take a card, it is 2018 in New York City.
Pasta was mediocre, lasagna was served in a small portion and tasted like pre-heated lasagna. Price was on the high side for what we got, and the 18%(!!!!) tip they basically gave themselves is very rude and makes it so that this pricy food is forcibly made even more expensive. You can only pay cash, and the on-site atm charges $5(!!!) and has a horrendous exchange rate.
Great find! Authentic modern Italian...its not what I expected. Not a fancy location, small, rather tiny. But the food was wonderful!! Younger staff than I expected, but good/decent service. We were rushed a bit to finish dessert and coffee when the later crowd started showing up(but it was a Friday night)- The food was worth returning for. CASH ONLY (ATM inside)
We need so much more of these beautiful casual places where the food is succulent, the prices are fair, and the service is genuinely friendly. Its generous, its simple but true to itself, its made with care and joy, its delightful for your palate and your heart. Service is a bit slow but take your time and enjoy.
I went for a birthday dinner and everything went perfectly. The table was ready when we arrived, and the space is charming. Its got a nice open kitchen, plenty of two-tops for couples and room for a group as well.We started with well priced wine and arancini (Italian fried rice balls) - The pea and mozzeralla, beef ragu, and crab varieties. They are were oozing with cheese and piping hot.We also ordered pastas for everyone, I had the salmon and it was delicious. Others dishes were also excellent. The bill was as expected and appropriately priced.Nice ambience, nice staff, nice food.
Truth to be told, we were expecting so much of this restaurant, but I was a little bit disappointed. We were expecting a unique flavor and a tasteful pasta, but it was not the case. Definitely, it is not terrible, it isnt as good as you might think. The atmosphere and the ambiance is good.
The pasta was very tasty, but when we (only two people) got the check, the tip was already included! (18%) in my opinion when a restaurant is FORCING you to pay a specific tip, I find it very rude!! Because the service wasnt that great... (e.g. the wine was served in a regular glass...)
LOVE THIS PLACE.It’s prices are extremely fair and cheap for the elegance of the play - some pastas were $10 (my spinach fettuccini was $14). I read that it’s cash-only so watch out for that, although they did have an ATM.Absolutely go here. It’s outside of the touristy-SoHo area but close enough to easily walk.
Super yummyWe usually get the chitarra, we think its the best on the menu. Weve had the polenta(?) balls, those are good too. Its a difficult call, but it may be in your best interest to get double chitarra if you are eating for 2, because it is very good. All the others are interesting and fine as well though, so you cant go too far off. And the house wine is a good pick as well. Good atmosphere and friendly service also.
Good food, agreed, but they are not equipped to handle peak hours rush. Literally had to wait 45 mins at the bar waiting for my pasta to arrive. In their own words, the kitchen is under equipped to handle peak hour rush. Very lame excuse for serving the pasta after 45 mins.
A very low key neighborhood favorite of mine. Cash only, which is a bit annoying, and meant we accidentally forgot to tip once because we were trying to work out how to sort the bill out with everyone having big bills, but the menu is simple, very satisfying, and lends itself well to sharing.Definitely get one of the salads. Im not a salad person, but theyre really thoughtful and fresh and a great way to start the meal, get a few pastas, and then also, get a dessert. The lemon meringue and panna cota are fantastic.
A good friend introduced me to Malatesta in the West Village years ago and it has been one of my favorites ever since. She introduced me to Spaghetti Incident a few nights ago and it is just as wonderful. Fabulous intimate atmosphere, simple beautiful interiors, wonderful staff, and amazing food and desserts. I will make a point of coming here every time Im in LES. Love it and love the affordability.
Seemed interesting. Decor is a bit modern, seating kind of frugal, minimal.Menu was small and the specials seemed more of the same. The rice balls were pretty good- they had flavor and the sauce that came with it definitely adds to the overall taste.Cant say the same about the spaghettis- the Carbonara was overly salty and the egg seemed to have congealed by the time it came to me and it looked like a pot of noodles was overturned on my plate. The Buccatini was too tangy with the tomato overpowering every other flavor there may have been in it.It failed to impress me and as the check came, I realized that it was too pricey for what it was. Helping are not large or too small but wish the flavors were a bit more balanced and present. Has potential but needs to realize it.
Very nice Arancinis, Ragu (Bolognese) sauce was pretty average, Carbonara sauce was extremely disappointing. Way too much, thick, funny tasting (definitely not carbonara taste) cream sauce. Moreover you had to fish the spaghetti out of that thick mess. What a shame, because the place seemed very promising and the service was really nice and friendly as well.
This place is a MUCH needed addition to the Lower East side. Great upscale causal spot for the common day millineals do find a quality Italian sit down without the stuffiness. There is a dine-in side and a takeout side. The pasta is so bomb, me and my boyfriend used to have to try to stop ourselves from eating here on the regular. (My fav dishes is the salmon asparagi and the lamb papadalle, dont forget to add parmesan cheese to make it FIRE!). It is a must eat at place you wont regret. Shout out to Aaron on the takeout side, great customer service!
We came in here because Rubirosa was too crowded and we didnt want to wait an hour to eat, so after some yelping, we came across this small restaurant and were happy we stopped by! Good, solid, reliable food ... we ordered the arancini, Bucatini Amatriciana, spaghetti and meat balls and Carbonara ... everything was delicious! Our server was very friendly. I would definitely come back!
THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! The food, some of the best I have ever tasted. This is one of those gems that you happen upon during a vacation, and leave feeling like you found a treasure! The Bucatini Trevigiana is outstanding - it is a must try! Meatballs, sauce, just yum...authentic, good for the soul food!
YESSSSSSS. I love places like this bc1. I LOVE pasta esp well-made yet chill pasta (no, you dont need to add truffles on errthing and charge $34/dish)2. Its very low-key. No rezzies needed. The pasta selections rotate everyday. I highly recommend their Naked Woman Salad as a starter.. yes a starter bc Ill be smh-ing at you for ordering only salad here! The salad is fresh with a hint of acid (from the lemon in the dressing). Pasta can be heavy... so this is a great complement to your entree. The pasta itself reminded me of those from Maccheroni Republic in LA - no frills, al-dente AF, and great sauces that coated every little strand.I got the Bucatini Trevigiani - which comes with a light cream sauce. Bucatini is my favez. It provides the girth of a spaghetti without the calorie commitment since it is hollow on the inside #winwin. And I was declared the best dish chooser of this meal woooootMy friends got the ragu bolognese and the bucatini amatricana. Both were good as well if youre wanting dat red sauce!I dont recommend getting the arancini balls. They were alrighttt, and added onto the heaviness of the meal. I would rather opt for some wino instead. Also, if you take your pasta to-go, itll come in a cute little cone ahaha. Pasta for the road?! so down for thattttt
Please call and make a reservation if you want to go to the restaurant. Rarely you can just drop in a find a table without a wait. But the takeout side of the restaurant is a great alternative and they have a few seats available! Food is delicious, ambiance is awesome and the staff is great!
We were not informed that there is no possibility to pay with credit card, neither there was a sign at the door nor we were informed by the waitress, but luckily they had an atm inside that charged you 1.50$ for taking out money... strange coincidence. We were also not informed that there is 18%!!! tip is added to the order... We took carbonara (tasted nothing like real italian carbonara, (it was extremely fatty with some cream and the whole dish was dominated by taste of bad quality pancetta) and amatriciana (was a bit better but still nothing extraordinary). The pasta itself was very thick, I didnt like that. The prices seem low but if you add nearly 20% compulsory tip then they are not so low after all. My hopes were high judging by comments but I was disappointed.
Spaghetti Incident is simple, good, homemade spaghetti plates and Arancini appetizers. The Chitarra is awesome! So are the Arancini! Its a small intimate place with candles, good for a girls night dinner or a casual date night. Service is also great and they serve desserts as well.

2022-05-15Really enjoyed the food here. It was delicious and had good portions. If theres anything spicy on the menu think white people medium at most. I got a daily special with jalapenos in the pasta and all I felt was a minor tickle at the end. Service was fast and super helpful. Really cute spot!

2022-01-09Most excellent pasta ever. I am a fussy Singaporean who loves good food and believe me this place offers one of the best. Warm service and great food. Nothing more my son and I could ask for!

2021-11-19Great food. Price to quality is good (although they do add a 3.75% fee to use credit card). The servers are friendly and knowledgeable. The pasta always cooked to perfection. They are flexible and can make certain dishes vegetarian or vegan upon request.

2021-08-09SOO GOOD! I’ve heard a lot about this place and decided to try it for date night with my husband. One of favorite places for great pasta. The burrata was also one of the best I’ve had in awhile. Cute spot for date night or dinner with friends. Highly recommend!

2021-07-17Awesome experience here! I got the Fettuccini truffle special which was amazing! Homemade noodles on the dish were delightful with the perfect amount of mushrooms and truffle, very tasty. The restaurant itself has a really cool, chill vibe with a great music selection. Staff were very nice and friendly. Would recommend!!!

2022-06-29Very good pasta, everyone in our group loves pasta and some said it was the best they ever had. The tomato sauce is excellent, the pasta is a bit chewy but by no means in an unpleasant way. The waiters were pleasant and friendly.

2022-01-22Im in love with this place. The spinach linguini was so so so good I had to go back the next night to try the Chitarra. The service was truly wonderful. Both nights, I felt so welcomed and taken care of. (Plus they have great taste in music.) The prices are shockingly good for the quality and portions. A $10 glass of wine! Fun, funky, non-fussy vibes.

2022-05-19Went with a large group and everyone had a different meal. Never thought each dish was meticulously made and uniformly delicious. Very reasonable prices. Kudos
