How could a person understand the work that was never reviewed to help the students pass? That’s the whole point of it being called training you train the students to become professionals.In High school you had many options to pass your classes you had after school, summer school even one-on-one tutoring at this place they expect you to know the work less then 5 days like how? And they give tests everyday!How could you be so careless on a persons personal reasons for not coming to class?I was a student at this horrible place so what I’m interpreting is 1,000% correct and 1,000% factual. I remembered a student that was sick and she called the agency to let them know that she wasn’t feeling well with a bad cough and she wasn’t coming in the next day. Now mind you the coordinator said this at the orientation if your sick or cannot make it call before hand or bring in documentation/proof and you’ll makeup the work when you return to the class. This was said by Ms.Maria De Jesús and you automatically told her she was dropped from the program the next day ... You guys are heartless.They are rude non speaking English and only cares about getting paid for your time sitting there. What type of ish is that?PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME I BEG OF YOU SPECIAL TOUCH HOME CARE LOCATION CONEY ISLAND BROOKLYN ARE HEARTLESS PEOPLE WHO DON’T EVEN HELP YOU PASS HOW IS THAT PROFESSIONAL ?Horrible people, horrible service, horrible place PERIODI personally rate your company and services and staff ZERO STARS.
If it’s possible I would give the company zero stars I really would . I work with special touch for 6 months and as of today I am done this company is the worst job I ever worked for . Out of the 6 months I work with them for 3 months straight ( March April and May ) they short paid me and didn’t give me my full check .prior to that I did call to inquire why was my checks so low if I was working more then 12 hrs a day and got a rude reply from payroll regarding they don’t make mistakes ..( yeah sure ) when I first Apply here I did read the google reviews and it really was my fault I ignore what other people stated now they owe me atleast 800+ And I’m not sure to get that money back .. I refuse to work another day for this company and I will never recommend anyone to get involved working for them it’s other companies in New York more reliable especially when it comes to receiving your pay check . If you can’t trust them to give you the money you work hard for then how can you trust them at all . I really hope this company get shut down .i won’t even go into the coordinators because they a terrible as well and very rude no customer service no help and don’t have the proper training .this company does not care about their patients or employees .
This company owes me over $200 for almost a year now. I keep mailing time sheets in and they say that they never received them.This company is very unprofessional and racist. If you aren’t Latin/Latino or speak Spanish they treat their employees like dirt and quick to fire you for simple misunderstandingsI would not recommend working for this company to anyone if you are not Hispanic
GREAT PLACE TO WORK! the agency is always hiring, they have training classes for new recruits. very easy class for HHA certification, it takes only 3 weeks, pass all test and training and automatically get a job working. the agency gives great benefits with a excellent union. also good start for nursing careers. I recommend it to anybody looking for a job within the health care field.
Worst company ever!!!My opinion has not changed. Of course employees will give it 5 stars...I wish more clients were on here this is truly one of the worst companys out there!!! Some of the staff are nasty, rude and lazy. Learn to engage your clients instead of napping all damn day!!! The training should be longer and more intense!!! I guess you got your staff to come on here and give some good reviews cause a few months ago your rating was no where near a 4.5...I know several off your clients and employees and honestly if I kept statistics Id say 9 out of 10 ppl Ive talk to would have nothing to do with your company. Unfortunately people need jobs and assistance and they are stuck at your mercy. Just dont meet standards! Exceeed them!!! Then I will give you a better rating!!!
Worst company i ever worked for. They pay you when they want. Coordinators have bad attitudes,will over talk n talk down to you. Even when reported to the union they are tiers of receiving complaints about this company. They need to be revamped or shut down!! Annette is one of the rudest receptionist, she cusses at the employees and will put them on hold without transferring a call just so she doesnt have to work. Seen it with my own eyes
They do not pay accordingly please go to another agency, if you want your paychecks on time to pay your bills. Patients do not have care plans and when you call to find out what you actually have to do they will give you the run around. Horrible place. The best thing about this job is the 1199 union.
Horrible agency!!!!!!!!!! They do not pay you on time ..... Payroll never answers the phone & they be in their office!!! So if there is a problem with your check you always have to go to the agency .... They might send u to a case & a aide already be there. Just horrible company , its in your best advice to defiantly choose another agenct. This agency is not worth the hassel !
Id decided to go with this agency based on the reviews. Unfortunately, my impression is that all the home care agencies tend to over-promise and under-deliver. Ive spoken to the home care coordinator, Bianca, assigned to me later to realize that she isnt interested in helping me fulfill my request, and where showing signs of frustration while talking to me. Her overhead, Charlize, listened to me in a calmly manner but never fulfilled my request, either. Another incident were when I called and Diana was mocking me, claiming that I was threatening her. So, Ive just been frustrated by the lack of professionalism, and the fact that they have no respect at all for me. Currently, Im working with a case coordinator, Roxanna, who never seem to return my calls or receive any of my messages.
Special touch is the most irresponsible agency in history. they dont pay you on time if you get paid at all that week. All of the coordinators at special touch are rude, disrespectful and are big time liars. They should rename this agency and call it special-ed because the entire staff has issues. They only give all the bi-lingual speaking people the best jobs and the African American people the messed up cases.
First and foremost I want to thank special touch and their stuff for letting me become one of there team players. I currently work with special touch for a while now as an aid and it has been a wonderful experience. The staff a the Staten Island center ms. Carlita and the nurses where very helpful and every time I have a question or consern I can feel comfortable to call Carlita and she will be glad to help me. Working with special touch has been very educational and a very good experience thank you special touch for believing in me.
I would not recommend this company to anyone . They love to rob employees of their vacation pay then when you go to them to inquire about the remainder of the pay . They blame it on the system Or they say you work less hours . Stay far AWAY!!! if anyone is looking for employment.
My mother has been receiving home health aide services from Special Touch Home Care for around 3 years. Her regular aide (Janet) has become a part of our family. Janets knowledgeable about my mothers condition (dementia) and extremely compassionate. When shes unable to make it, theres always a competent replacement at my moms home, on time and capable of assisting. Its not easy seeing her in the condition shes in, however the extra help that Special Touch has provided us has really been priceless.
Let me say that if you are going to do the CDPAS you are in luck, because it is a different department from Health Aide. If you are in need of a Health Aide from this place, run to the hills, horrible!!!!!! In a two months and a half time, I have had 9 girls, only 1 new exactly what needed to be done, how to handle a bed bound person. How to interact with my mom and was a sweetheart, but she was only filling in for two days. Everyone else did not have a clue in what to do. I asked, have you every dealt with someone in the bed? There answer has always been NO, not only was this a big issue, but majority of the people that was sent, did not have the power to move a 200 pound women on their own, unless I was there to assist. The coordinator as well as her supervisor was the most incompetent people I have come across, rude and unknowledgeable of their own people. They tell me that the girls are trained but once they are in my home its a whole other story. I will never ever recommend anyone to this Home Health Care service. Please find someone to do CDPAS, you have all the control in who you place in your home with your love one. Maybe we can stop the madness in having people that just dont care loose their jobs and just maybe the state will wake up on what is happening in these offices as well in the homes.
This like many other HCA in this city are disgraceful. My mother is immobile and there was some actual effort required in the day to day. There is no staff quality screenings, many of the aides are incompetent and lacking critical training. Due to this company I have had to pay for coverage out of my own pocket. They take advantage of the fact that I am an involved family member, they used me as coverage. I have lost wages due to coming home to pick my mother of the floor. A lot of the aides are unable to read or speak English clearly, have no common sense and cannot follow instruction even when everything is written down for them. Beware. Report them and contact your representatives for Home Healthcare Reform.
Your private information is not secure with this company! They tell everything about your private information as a medical history to people they are not aloud to, people who even dont work there! Wich is against the law, anyway will talk with my attorney about this beautiful accident when they abused me
My experience has been a complete and total nightmare. BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE!!!! Dont leave your loved ones with these people. Completely incompetent. The coordinators have no communication skills at all and dont even speak english. Very nasty with my wife and myself and also administered meds to my mom against policy in order to keep my mom asleep all day for an easier day. My Dad recently passed away and the staff show no compassion whatsoever toward my family and I in trying to be on the same page for my moms sake. Caretakers dont speak English and have a difficult time in emergency situations. A caretaker once wanted to call 911 because she thought something was wrong with my mom but she was sleeping. She couldnt call and her answer to me was that she couldnt speak english. NIGHTMARE!!! Currently switching companies. If you care about your loved ones dont go with Special touch. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS WITH THESE PEOPLE!
HORRIBLE AGENCY!!! Never pays on time.. If you have bills to pay, children to feed, yourself to feed .. Do not work here !!!!!.. You will never get your check when your suppose too. Some of the patients have bed bugs and the coordinators will still make u go to that case until they get it filled. And if u dont go in the case cordinators will write you up. PAYROLL NEVER ANSWERS PHONE. YOU HAVE TO CONSTANTLY GOUP TO THE OFFICE WHEN U HAVE A COMPLAINT CAUSE THEY DO NOTHING OVER THE PHONE. This IS A HORRIBLE AGENCY AND NEEDS TO GET REPORTED !!!!
Special touch is the worse and most unprofessional agency ....the stuff is very rude and unprofessional....you have pay roll stealing your money and telling lies on the other hand you have coordinator who is lazy and getting paid for nothing they will be extremely nice and put you on some cases where patients is very disrespectful and have mental health problem but they don’t care because once there boss or supervisor see that an aide is on duty that it for them so you work as a great worker and can’t even get the paid you deserve but yet they put you through all these screens to be employed by worse agency for worker and love one you be the most wicked person to put your love one in the care of these agency
What a shame with the staff of this special touch agency, I feel sad every time I remember how I was treated on 12/23/2021 by (Maria,) the secretary oh I dont know what it is, when I was in one of the classes Not only me, but also another girl who came in after me, complaining about how that lady yelled at her just like me, a girl who even commented that she had hearing problems, they dont consider people and they dont send a letter that you simply have class They assign you a day, they send you by text message, they dont ask you if you can that day, there is no coordination, they were late and many of my colleagues say, like me, neverWe have missed class, I even did not want to attend the other class that was for 12/29/2021 I feel so bad I hope to pass soon and thank this magnificent agency that in asome years it was a very good agency.
Very bad service The receptionists name is Ana is a rude and she doesnt even attend you, you just talk to her and she transfers you nisikiera listens to you. I hope they fire her and hire more professional people. I was calling because I wanted to work for that agency and I wanted to know what roles to take, but if they are going to treat me better I go to another.
I have been an employee of special Touch home care Services Inc for two years. I have never had any problem with your coordinators. They are always available to me when I need them and for my clients relatives. My payments for my services have always been fully paid. My paid vacations and my sick days. Thanks to Special Touch I have been able to work happily and calmly with each of the patients who have had the pleasure of working. Do not hesitate to work in Special Touch or trust the care of your family in our hands.
I recommend this agency because they are very responsible, they are always aware of their patients in constant communication. Check and bring the person in need of a Home Health Aide and if you would like to take care of your relative, they help you to take care of your family member and at the same time they pay you.
I love working for special touch I applied in the office of Staten Island and I loved the attention that I got in the office of Staten Island the people who work there are very friendly but especially Carlita she always has an answer for what one question I love working for special touch and I love the attention we give to the interns and we all love him for that way they treat us and likewise we are in our work and the salary is very good we have all the benefits like 1199 i like that

2022-06-25Amazing agency! We’ve gone thru a few agencies to find care for my dad and Special Touch by far has been the best. From the coordinators, who have been respectful, professional and caring to the aides that have been so nice and actually do their jobs. So happy we finally found them. If you are looking for good care for your loved ones, I would highly recommend them.

2022-05-05Not a good company to work for they dont pay enough money $15 an hour is not what anyone should get paid to take care of someone, especially when you have to work under various conditions. Also they cheat you with taxes, Ive submitted my tax form twice informing them I want the max amount of taxes taken out on line 5 of the w4 form. Payroll tells me I have to tell them a specific amount. Of all the jobs Ive worked never had I had to specify an amount. NY state tells the company and they are suppose to be the ones to take it out based on your earnings for that week.

2022-06-08Very unprofessional and dont care about your time.. I went into the office and filled out paperwork they took all my information made copies .. They had three people looking over everything.. had me fill out everything to hire me .. and then had me sitting there for two hours asking me everything that I just filled out on the paper instead of reading the paper ... even had me go to a second drug screening and the one i gave them is only a month and half old .. The lady who took my information text me all day the next day about the same information that I just went and spoke to them about and that they made copies of .. Now after all of this she texts me and says they cant accept the certificates that Ive worked off for over 6 years since i lost my originals moving which I explained to them when i first came in .. And all she keeps texting me now is that she cant go over the rules.. which I never asked her to do Im trying to understand how do you and two other people there go over someones paperwork .. accept it make copies .. even scheduled me for orientation and now three days later its a problem .. waste of time!!!!

2021-06-04The worst experience I had and will be my last .... they want to come and just watch TV or come when ever they want and they sign in on there own phone... I ask for light house keeping and one lady refused to do anything and I had to send her home ... everyday was someonedifeerent I only had three good home aids ... worst experience ever I feel bad for the elderly that has to deal with this agency

They cause so much unnecessary stress its ridiculous.Specifically Alexis G. she is very skilled at twisting ones words if you arent paying attention. Sometimes common sense and compassion needs to trump ones day to day robotic movements in life. You too shall get old and I hope you have someone to advocate for your care as I do for my mothers. Being this stone-hearted will serve you no good. Keep that in mind as you grow.This company has a few good aides, but treat them so poorly from making them take entire days off for matters that, if planned and coordinated properly would not amount to a day of loss wages to their staff! DO BETTER SPECIAL TOUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Update: So I was finally able to get a fob installed at my mothers home which took .5seconds to install. The gentleman they sent was so pleasant and well mannered. Now my aide can clock in and out w/out having to install an intrusive app on her phone or use my landline to clock in/out. This fob option was NEVER given to me until I started going in on them last week.

2020-03-11The rudest staff ever. The few days I attended classes, 7-8 people walked out during class. This place isnt interested in providing classes , its about them getting paid from the government. They need to work on a friendlier staff,and more of a professional setting. Applicants come and go, without completing their classes to the end. Dont know how theyre in business.

2019-09-12I transferred my patient to Special Touch agency recently and I regret about it. My patients coordinator is Marina ( ext: 260) from the Russian Department. She talks in a very rude manner with home attendants and employees of the agency. Marina doesnt want to listen to our complaints nor resolve them and doesnt want to take care of the cases and patients. She cuts you up and hangs up on you while on the phone. A Racist towards to some of us and doesnt respect people outside of her community. She tries to give work to people from her own community and nationality. I guess she gets something for it. She feels that she is the owner of the company Special Touch from the manner of her speech. This agency didnt fulfill my expectations and I recommend people toNOT TRANSFER THEIR CASES AND PATIENTS TO THE AGENCY OF SPECIAL TOUCH.

2020-01-08They are horrible with their home care Service they might be sweet and gentle on the phone but when it comes to sending a Health Aide Their Horrible as every Health aide they send has more sicknesses than me or either is a cancer patient Herself And Special Touch has no knowledge of it as they supposedly take a physical exam of their Health aides every year.. Another issue with most of them I cannot communicate because they don’t literally knowHow to speak proper English it is Unbelievable As they have stressed me Out Since I started getting health aides from them..!! As Their getting worse and worse day by day as I would never Recommend them to anyone as I am getting more ILL by them as their health Coordinators really don’t anything but keep on sending someone new every other day as it’s really Frustrating dealing with them as I’m going to give them their last chance to send someone appropriate before I contact they’re cooperate office and change agencies..!!!
