Bad support, the phone system isn’t even set up right, product is too difficult to install and maintain. I would not recommend this product for my clients. The cameras are heavy and the image isn’t as clear as I expected. The user interface is cumbersome and the app is worse. It just doesn’t work right. It’s easy to see how the cloud systems are taking so much market share.

Best Brand Ive ever experienced. Have 18 years experience with this brand. With Quality, Support, Reliability, nothing comes close. Have experience with Axis, Pelco, etc. What is even best, is you are supporting a United States Company, in New York. When you call, you speak to an American working out of their New York Location, not someone overseas. Some other brands you cant even call, by email only. All negative reviews here, MUST be competition or end user not having a clue what they are doing. If you are an end user, make sure you use a Installer that does security for a living, even contact Speco to get recommendation. If you are an installer, give Speco a try. Wont be disappointed one bit, and supporting a local New York/ American company at that.

I was sold a dog and pony show by a local security guy. The only thing that really worked like it was supposed to was my credit card payment to them. I have had problems with the 8 channel system since new and now it will not connect at all to mobile phone. I have been told that the updated phone app is bad and caused the problem. I need to wait for tech support but in the past they always told me I had to go to a local company. I would not recommend any specotech products at this point.Update: This time, the company did respond to email and I found out that they were updating their computer system - everyone using that server was offline. It is back up now. In retrospect, I maybe should have said I would not recommend the security company (out of Wichita Ks area) that installed this system. Regardless, the system is still a hard wired IP system and pretty expensive for a simple residential application.

They dont stand behind their products. Got a defective D8VT2TB. The sound has a constant whistle. Asked them to send a new one and we would send ours back after receiving it so we would not be down. They agreed, but said they would evaluate our unit when they received it and would charge us if they did not agree with our evaluation. In addition, they said the unit was Mac compatible. You cannot get sound when viewing video remotely on a Mac. This is a problem for us since all of our computers are Macs.

As a professional in this field, this company is garbage. Way over priced recorders, for a system that runs extremely slow with a lot of lagging. A lot of competitors products are 100 times better at less than half the cost. For a nvr that cost 1400 this should be a flawless product but unfortianatly its not.

Specos hardware is garbage, and only second to their software. They frequently discontinue products and release new software with no backwards compatibility, so you must maintain/support multiple applications if your customers have a mix of older and newer Speco. Their support team lacks knowledge of the basic TCP/IP model and how ip/sockets function, but theyre always willing to blame the issues on the network. Their DDNS functionality is poorly implemented and does not take into consideration sites that have multiple NVRs behind the same external IP address.

The Tech Support for this company is essentially non existent. Wont help through phone, only email, which they take 24 hours to respond to and then they string you along until you go away with your problem. The software is wonky and riddled with issues. Currently have an error message showing up in software which I called on, waited 2 hours on hold, then had a rep talk to me for 20 minutes and then hung up on me as I answered their question??? Soon as it hits 7 PM in Amityville they drop the phone line. Not the type of company you want to spend thousands upon thousands of dollars with in regard to tech equipment. NO SUPPORT!!! AVOID LIKE PLAGUE!!(Not sure what fredrick does , probably an employee or stock holder in Speco to be posting that Review!!!)

Speco cameras have been a solid solution for a long time. The software design and development may have somethings so be desired however the equipment is great and would try out almost anything with their name on it.

Their system was a mess from the beginning, but it only got worse as time went on. their mobile app hasent been updated since 2014 and is unusable for many people. Theyre willing to sell you a system, but not to make sure itll work. Would not reccomend

Products manufactured by engineers for technical customers. Well thought out. Competitive pricing. Great distribution channels. With they would adopt IPv6 and have a bigger social media presence.
