My husband and I went to Spectrum with a plan in mind. We wanted to switch from one wireless company to Spectrum after dealing with a costly monthly bill. This was our first time visiting the store on Rt. 30 in Amsterdam. The moment we walked in the door we received friendly and courteous attention. Miguel greeted us at the door with a friendly smile and directed us to sign in and have a seat to be waited on. The store was busy but, everything was organized and the store ran smoothly. The employees all had smiles on their faces and working diligently with customers. My husband and I were greeted by a friendly employee named Ronnell. He was very knowledgeable about all the different phones and packages that were being offered. He was very patient and took his time with us. My husband and I spent about 2 hours in the store and it was a wonderful experience switching to a new cellular phone carrier. The store was bright, cheerful and clean. My husband and I were surely impressed with the professionalism from all the employees. We will continue being customers with Spectrum. We both are extremely satisfied with our purchase and will be back again. I hope the public takes advantage of this new gem in Amsterdam! Thank you Ronnell and everyone at Spectrum. The wait is long. Mobile sales seem to take priority and if you just want to “swap a box” it takes entirely too long to do so. They should have 2 mobile service agents and one regular home service agent on duty at all times. A broken WiFi modem shouldn’t take me over an hour to swap out because the employees are closing mobile sales. There are cases where the customer has no idea even how to use a smartphone so it becomes a 1-2 hour process of the employee sitting with them and showing and explaining, which is great- I think it’s awesome you fully assist customers, but I shouldn’t have to stand by over an hour for a simple task while you do so. My time is valuable, the time the Internet was down for the broken box took away from my work, then a 1.5 hour trip to spectrum to get a new box, then having to call when I got home with the new box for activation, I lost almost an entire day of work, which for me is huge. I have to blame spectrum for this loss of work as it was spectrums box that malfunctioned, spectrum in Sanford farms that made me wait over an hour, and spectrum that made me call and wait and activate the new box. Employees are nice. But it doesn’t make up for the time lost. I’d rather be in and out quickly!

2022-04-06I am here to thank Lydia for an excellent experience during my visit to the spectrum store. She is knowledgeable, patient, and accommodating (she gave me step by step written instruction answers to my questions/problem solving.In a world where patience and caring are severely lacking, this store makes all the difference by including these in not just their words, but their actions.10/10 I do recommend!Also, the service, pricing, etc is on point.I’d pay extra for the top notch customer service but I don’t have to, so that makes me smile.=^•^=

2022-03-27Before I went into the store, I called the Spectrum 800 number to try to merge an old mobile account into my current account, but couldnt because two of the phones were still being paid on so I had to pay them off. The man I spoke to told me that if I tried to merge the accounts in store, the people in store could just call in and they could walk them through the account merge. First, I went into the Spectrum store at Niskayuna and they were willing to merge the accounts, but the gentleman that I was working with couldnt because the payments werent fully processed. Unfortunately, I was just about to move to Amsterdam, so I had to hold off everything until the move was done.I went into the store Saturday, 3/26/2022, morning to merge the accounts and to change the address to Amsterdam. When I went into store, the woman who waited on me didnt know anything about the mobile and asked the other woman there (sorry, neither woman had a visible name tag). The second woman said she knew exactly what to do, we just needed to wait for her to finished with another customer. When she finished, she came over and looked at the computer screen for a couple minutes, then started saying that she couldnt do it and that if she made a mistake she couldnt fix it. In other words, she lied about knowing what to do. When I explained that the guy on the Spectrum 800 number said that they could walk them through it, she refused to call. If the store was busy, I could understand, but I was the only customer in the store at the time. She went on to explain how the workers in store are only trained to setup accounts, sell phones, and do only basic troubleshooting. Anything else was beyond their training. So I had to leave without having my accounts merged or even having my address updated.If Spectrum doesnt train their employees to handle issues with their mobile devices, why do they waste their customers money by having these stores open and pay employees who cant do anything? You can buy the phones and setup your account online, then use the 800 number for tech support (since thats the only way you can get problems fixed). Either the Amsterdam Store needs more competent employees or they need to close the store down.

2022-03-24Exchanging our old DVR box was simple and easy. Store was clean and employees helpful. Signing in to see someone was a little confusing but otherwise a quick easy trip

2022-01-11This place is terrible. I brought my elderly neighbor in to pay on her account. She in her late 80s and is medically exempt from wearing a mask because it could cause harm to her by her having a seizures. The lady at the desk refused to help her and then even though she put on a mask ( shaking and sadly had a seizure soon after we left) the kicker is when the employee proceeded to take down her mask and yell at us And refuses us help after We complied. They kicked my Elderly grandmother out of there store.
