They are helpful! Open for walkin and phone help! Very nice and willing to fix issues in a timely manner. The customer service is eager to please and although they couldnt fix my problem right then. It was fixed by the end of the day. They also gave me a call to make sure everything was running as it should. I am very happy with my service with them and recommend them to others.
Tried to bill me for a year of service when I only had service for a month, screwed up my credit. Luckily I called the debt collector and they wiped it clean off of my credit and I didnt owe them a penny. Never again will I go through this place. Terrible isnt even a good word for this place with how my experience was.
I just went to pay a bill. They asked me “what’s your address?” I gave it to them. Nothing came up in their system. After writing down my address for them they asked me again, “what’s your address”, I told them. Nothing popped up. They asked me something about “is there a building number?” I said “no”, a few seconds go by and I mention “A is my apartment number” (I thought that was obvious. The guy then laughed at me and condescendingly says “that’s what she was asking you”. I then told them I’d just pay the bill online and as I was walking out of the store the same person yelled at me “you’re welcome” which seemed again, condescending.The woman was great, there was just a little misunderstanding. It would’ve been a fine experience had I not been laughed at and spoken to condescendingly.
Had a great experience at Spectrum Earlier today. Joey was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. He answered all my questions in depth And and I walked away feeling very confident with my purchase. Keep up the good work. Hopefully the Spectrum corporation takes good care of their valued employees.
One on one customer service is outstanding. Definitely dont feel that way about the company itself and business practices, but the local store is great. Store is clean and the line moves very quickly. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. I purposely left my feelings about spectrum company at the door, so I didnt come in with an attitude, as Im sure they often see. Was shown exactly what I had, the different channels with the packages, and what I would gain or lose. No guesswork, or difficulty. Served with a smile and a great attitude from the rep. Thank you.
To be honest when it comes to having to deal with issues related to my internet 9 out of 10 times Im stuck with someone that is either just learning how to work on the computer or doesnt know what the problem is. Then if I dont feel like standing in line for roughly an hour just to be told that my problem has to be taken up with technical support over the phone from my house to make it easier I still get stuck waiting over an hour on hold just to be told to restart my modem and everything should be fine which is something Ive done numerous times before even calling. I wouldnt recommend this service or brand to anyone but due to the location I live at my options are limited to these fools. If the lobby was designed differently or staff was more probably trained to handle large groups of people at a time I feel the business would get better ratings, but until then I stand my ground on this rating.
Went to change my services and said I was all done when I got home it was wrong spent 25 minutes on the phone to make it right. What was the point of waist g my time going to the office???? Guess that didn’t work either, so on the 3rd phone call still not right, said I never called. What is wrong with these people. I thought they recorded all phone calls?
I went in expecting a bad experience due to reading the reviews, but was instead met by an extreamely polite and helpful associate Joey. He not only helped me solve my internet issue but also informed me that I could exchange my router with a new one for free. A way better experience then Ive ever had on the phone with their call service line. Definently going back in person if I ever encounter another problem!
Customer service is pretty horrible. Was told I could restore my internet for $93. Paid them the balance due...Im sorry I cant restore your service let me transfer you to our sales department....sales department responds with OK I see that went through but we dont do that internet package anymore you need to sign up for a different package which was basically the same package charging 2 1/2 times the price and had to pay another month before restoring my services....dont tell someone to pay a certain amount to restore services if youre going to charge them more for something they already had
Never had a problem with them. The lines used to get long but they changed the process and it makes it a but faster. However if you go later in the day your usually fine and wont have to wait long if at all. Waiting for them to open the mobile arm of spectrum since the prices are pretty good.
I hate calling these people, I had to last week though and the recording did not disclose an obvious internet outage. It said No outrage in your service area and their calling tree is ridiculous. If I had another internet choice I would jump on it because their prices are absurd, and they will bug you with mailers constantly to get their phone service. My daughter used to work for them and she left traumatized, the job giving her PTSD episodes everytime the phone rings. Not a healthy company or work environment as I understand it. Just saying. But its all we got and when its working it works.
I stopped at the location TWICE TODAY. TWICE and BOTH times the line went out the damn door! They even lengthening the line inside and made it more zig zaggy to fit more people, and it was still going outside! I have pictures! I was simply waiting to return equipment, I dont have time to wait 2 hrs just to return a router. I actually counted and there were 27 people in line, if I waited only 2 minutes per person I wouldve waited at LEAST an hour, oh wanna know why? Because you guys only had ONE employee working at 2:30PM? So how does it work that I come before people get out of work expecting it to be clear, since its usually packed with people after people get out of work at 5pm. But then I come back at 5PM and its JUST as bad, except only 4 less people. This is crazy. I just terminated my service with you guys at my home location since Im moving but I will not be getting you guys at my new house, and Im currently looking into canceling you guys at my business location. Absolute worst customer service. Ever. I even tried leaving my box there and the lady couldnt have addressed it nice that I couldnt leave my box, instead you guys have to hire rude/passive aggressive employees. Good thing theres only 5+ other internet providers in the area. Time to give them a ring again just like I did for initial quotes for my last place. BEWARE everyone, dont go with Spectrum. Calling it a can of worms is an understatement.
I know that there have been MANY bad reviews about Time Warner service and they were horrible. However, they have been to my home twice in the past month and each time I was given a one hour window and they were there long before the end of that time frame. They sent me text when they were on their way and even sent a picture of the tech person. Both were excellent! So in the interest of fairness...I thought I would say that you should give them a another chance...they are stepping up their game.
Freaking terrible company!! They don’t have full month bills they have half month bills. So that means if you get cable towards the end of the month say the 25th that’s going to be due the 11th of next month makes no sense but I guess that’s how they keep one up in people. My bill has been going up little by little. Customer service is no help. Spectrum is a joke!
Anybody who had service with anyone else knows that these guys are pretty good. The people complaining about service have a misguided view on what technology is. Going to the store I have nothing but good things to say about the staff who are doing the best they can to make our experience great.
If 1/4 a star was an option that is what they would of gotten. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! We moved from NY to VA. Turned in the box last Friday and still today the following Tuesday are going round and round to cancel our service. Trying to get ready for work and all they keep wanting to do is try and sell us service and talk to people in India who havent a clue. We also tried to downgrade out service a year ago and we were told we couldnt get a cheaper package...but they could give us what we wanted but it would cost us like 20 dollars more then what we were paying. Just doesnt make sense that a company would treat its current customers like this. Then after 2 PLUS hours on the phone. ...they just told us we have to travel 900 miles to walk into their office in vestal NY to cancel our service. Rediclous!!!! Definitely will be reporting to the BBB.
This place, as you already know from the countless one-star ratings, is repulsive.They think their reputation will float away in the breeze by switching their name... People arent quite that stupid. You get the same special offer in the mail about twice a month if you dont switch to their cheaper services that jacks its price up as soon as the first twelve months are up.A greedy organization that cares little for its users and their interests.Ive quit services with them and got charged for another month that I havent used their services in... Well see how that blows over.Ladies and gentlemen, this is what happens with monopolies every time... Eventually, they cant handle their own wealth and hopefully they will learn their lesson in the hard way.
Your cable service is A1 . We know this , but I just recently purchased you guys cell phone service 🤦🏾♂️ man O man .... all imma say is do better ! , I don’t understand how you guy service pretty much every neighbor with cable but y’all phone service barely have a signal. I’m really baffled that y’all would get into this rem of technology without doing y’all homework and connecting to better towers . Like I said , do better ! And why doesn’t the NEW YORK region have the option of phone insurance with spectrum but EVERYWHERE else does ?
TWC pricing is horrendous! They have decent package deals for new customers but they dont seem to care at all about their existing customers. If they can offer those deals to new customer they sure as hell should offer them to existing ones too! Cant wait to switch providers!
Due to Covid-19, I stressed a little on my way to the Spectrum store today. However, once I got there, my stress melted away. Spectrum is very compliant with all the safety measures the CDC recommend. I was greeted by friendly, mask wearing reps who were prompt to locate and find a solution to my issue. Joey, the agent who helped me, was kind, cheerful, time efficient and very knowledgeable.Im so very happy that I chose Spectrum internet and mobile as my provider.I highly recommend them.
TWC is both blessing and curse. They are the only service you can get other than satellite so they do not keep pricing thats best suited for the customer. While I do love their online chat component for customer service, I find it a bit troubling that they almost always threaten to disconnect service if a month or two later on payment when customers like myself have paid for their services well over a decade and usually on time. Additionally, they always seem to disable some port ok the equipment you rent despite knowing what they should enable customers to do and explained in manuals.
Service is fine, but they charge too much and they are getting rid of your local channels that are free and charging you for them. They put free 30 day trial services on your account without you knowing about it and then you get charged for it later. But there is nothing you can do about these things because they are the only providers in this area. Please bring back time warner cable! And get rid of spectrum, they are running their business into the ground!!
Tomorrow will are handing in all our boxes and modem. This is the worst company for customer service in the whole United States. We are elderly and my husband is in poor health which was aggravated further by being on the phone last week to cancel our service because we have moved out of the area. We have been their customer since they put up the first pole in our area.I sat by my husband while he was transferred 12 times to get the service cancelled. One of the transfers was to Comcast sales representative, several of the transfers were to music only and several to agents who were not authorized. We have been trying to cancel for several months. In March we handed in two of our cable boxes because we no longer lived in the house. When we handed those in our bill was supposed to remain at 155.00 per month until we closed on our house.We paid that religiously every month. Last week we get a bill for 362.00 saying that the partial cancellation done in March was reversed by them. We are so glad to be rid of this company. IF you have a chance to go elsewhere, DO it.
We walked in and there was a very long line. The check in system didnt work (Very ironic) so we had to stand in line. The person who served us was rude and wasnt even able to print out our bill so we knew what we were being charged for. Very suspicious. If you have an option of a company other than spectrum chose it. Avoid spectrum at all costs.
Answer my questions thoroughly explain why prices are going up. It is my sincere desire to alleviate Spectrum cable from my existence. Too expensive for my taste. However the representative was excellent very professional took the time to explain things to me she knew her job very well she was excellent no I do not recall her name
I had a very poor experience with Time Warner Cable. Due to their increasing rates, and extremely poor customer service, and never being available for their working customers, I canceled their services. Upon canceling my service, when I returned my equipment, I was assured I would receive a check for the amount that Time Warner billed me in advance for the following month. I never received a check or had my credit card credited that owed amount. When I reached out to them, they said they owed me nothing and kept changing the previous monthly billed amounts and bill cycles, aiming to confuse me, even though I had my bank/credit card statements in front of me with the dates etc... They make millions of dollars each year by installing little fees like router charges and things like that. Their cable and customer service does not improve... but its nice to see that they can spend $X amount of dollars to renovate the interior of their Vestal office every 3-4 years.
Treatment by customer service was very bad. One of the representatives named Analexalee gave me a very difficult time and was rude to me in a manner that the whole store could hear her. Another representative by the name of Brian also was very rude. They gave us the wrong information causing us to return to the store three times to get one thing done. Went in there today to complete our paperwork and again was badly treated. By the same people. There was no manager there and when I tried to call there’s no way to get through.My husband went in there with me today and could see the problem with those two people. Spectrum really needs to work on customer service training or give appraisals regularly so that this doesn’t happen.
I would give Spectrum zero stars if it was an option. Their customer service is atrocious and the service is mediocre. That doesnt compare to the constant rate increases. The fact that they chose to do a rate increase during the Covid-19 crisis shows exactly how greedy they are and how little they care about their customers
A two star rating is a gesture of goodwill for the service technician that promptly arrived at my house to install the digital TV box and set up everything for digital cable. Spectrum gave us new receivers with no instructions, no way to know we had to activate the box and even if both of those facts had been shared, it seems my existing exterior wiring was not up to handling the new service anyhow. 5 stars for the technician that arrived at my house on time - only hours after my complaint was registered with the otherwise useless call center staff. Spectrum gets a boo and a hiss for not refunding a percent of my cable bill back for channels they are blocking.... but it seems from their office/store staff they have little concern or worry about satisfying the customer.
Went to get a WI-FI router so could add internet to cable. Was sent home with 1 box that does everything well guess what. Get home call support n get told oh they didnt give you splitter youll have go back ask for 1 . before I do that I look over and find I will also have to have a jumper cables also. No mention that so that would have even another trip or as customer support said it you can go buy the parts. Uhhh hello how bout well send a tech out asap n get it all fixed up for you . Yeah thats called customer support not tell me donut all myself
Ive been lied to numerous times, given the run around, forced to switch over to more expensive services, only to not have any service at my house for days. This is the worst company. I have a complaint over with BBB over my issues. I cannot get over what a mess they have made of my account. Shameful...
Called to change my cable and internet package because I was paying more than I was comfortable with. When I finally connected(after 10 minutes of waiting) the representative offered more of his personal opinion than company policy, was argumentative, and kept interrupting. Finally I had to get firm with him and take control of the conversation in order to get anything done. He suddenly found hidden promotions available to me after I threatened to disconnect service. Time Warner Cable is such a scam and the representatives are complete potatoes. Im glad I downgraded service, and when I move, I will never consider any services offered by them.
Long lines only 4 people taking care of customers. I returned my boxes to discontinue my TV and phone services. Only getting faster internet. I was given a new internet box.......been a customer for 35 years. Could not get a discount because I wasnt a new customer. Today.........our RR email is not working. So sad ;(
Had my credit card information stolen so my credit card company suspended charges on my card spectrum want to charge me extra because they tried to bill me after my credit card company suspended my card this is compounded with latency issues and only getting 40 mb/s when I pay for 100 mb/s wish there was better options in town
This isnt targeted at this specific branch, I deal with my account online and over the 1-800 number. I just got off the phone with 2 people, 1 conversation, 27mins. Found out they never cancelled my cable and phone like I wanted. Then proceed to tell me there was some sort of special happening or something and it wasnt taken off so I was over charged on top of paying for services I didnt want. A 27 minute conversation of I ONLY WANT INTERNET... Not sure why thats so hard. I kept getting pricing for cable and phone packages... Well its good to have the phone for 911 or long distance calls... For the 100th time I dont even have a landline to make calls from! I just want internet. Then to make it even better, RUDE. 1st girl apparently didnt like my repeated answers of I only wanted internet because I got transferred to someone else in the SAME department after I had an attitude copped at me. Second girl sat there talking to me like I was stupid! I kept very calm considering I was being charged out the ass for services I didnt want and didnt use. Time Warner wasnt great... But boy I miss them compared to this.
Personally Time Warner Cable doesnt even deserve one star. I had Time Warner come set up basic cable and internet at our home. Granted, the man who set it up was nice. However, it took 10 minutes to set up and he rushed without setting anything up CORRECTLY, I actually had to end up programming everything myself including the internet, which in retro spec, Im sure dial up would be faster then we have now. I just called to cancel to the service at our house because I am tired of paying a monthly fee for stuff that isnt working. Our cable skips, our internet is slower then a turtle and all they said when I called and complained was if I tried turning it on and off again. Absolutely WORST service ever. About 10 minutes ago I called to cancel it all together and they actually argued with me. Now instead of being actual decent people and coming and gathering their awful box and modem they expect me to drive and bring it to them. Save yourself the stress and time and dont even bother with this company.
My charges have steadily increased over the last four years for bottom of the barrel internet service, which constantly goes out. Oddly, they are always able to fix my broken connection when I call the automated technical support, but I have had to do this several times a week lately. Ive also had to dodge aggressive marketing calls for years in which they persistently try to upsell me services Ive made it repeatedly clear I do not want. Dont let the name change fool you, Spectrum or Time Warner, its all the same garbage service.
They have terrible customer service. We moved and cancelled our service but TWC continued to withdraw money from our account. It took FIVE MONTHS for them to issue our refund and only after I called four times to hound them about it. THEN, THE CHECK THEY GAVE US BOUNCED AND OUR BANK CHARGED US ADDITIONAL MONEY FOR IT!!! Absolutely ridiculous. I bet if I hadnt called they would have continued to withdraw our money and/or never refunded us. I HATE THEM!
I have been with TWC for over ten years and have never had an issue with them. Even years ago they have always promptly come to explore and fix the problem and a few times it was my fault. This recent round was with Cable and Wifi connections for my compute. Those issues resulted in at least a half a dozen calls to them. My computer was a mess and the resulting fixes caused issues with my connections. Each time they walked me through the process to reconnect and they were patient and extremely helpful.I have all services: TV cable, internet cable, phone, and WIFI. Wifi was at no additional cost when I added it. They have done good service to me. But, maybe I am a good customer, as I have never been late with a payment in over ten years and I always treat them with respect.
I switched the landline from Verizon, who was ripping us off, to Spectrum. To do the switch the first technician spent 3 hours here, failed to find the box and left us with no working phones in most of the house. The next technician came the following day, at 7:15PM and left at 10PM. He called in two more techs who arrived at 9PM. Together they found the box and got all our landlines to work. We are grateful for their dedication.
Spectrum is terrible. I was advised by a tech to switch over to Spectrum plan and equipment from the Time Warner plan and equipment I had. The customer service rep assured me I had all the same channels and services for the same price. When I installed the new equipment I was missing many channels I was told Id have, and no longer have DVR. Once you switch you obviously cannot go back to the Time Warner equipment. So Im paying the same price for less and Im looking forward to cutting the cable.
If I could give a zero or a negative number, that would be most suitable.Let me preempt this review: we do not watch TV. Not at all. So this review is really focused on how horrible Spectrum is. The assumption is that every customer needs TV. Or you will need it to have Internet.This is hands-down the worst Internet/cable provider. There is no way to JUST have Internet without spending MORE than getting cable TV of sort. So in other words, the customer is penalized for not watching tv.I tried to switch service when Spectrum first sent out all their deals & promos of $29.99! Well. That was misleading. Im not a new customer and I dont need TV or a land line phone.So I was transferred to someone else, who pitched me the same nonsense. I did the math...if I did NOTHING at all (meaning I stayed with the plan from Time Warner) I saved $6/mo. That actually was an option.Lost in translation: then transferred to the cancel service department and was re-pitched on everything. Then told they couldnt give me bottom line prices at all, no way and basically didnt care if I cancelled or not.So I changed nothing. Internet speed hasnt changed.Then Spectrum came to my door. Two guys, all smiles and holding those promo deals. They werent smiling when they left.Everythings still status quo. I pay $6 less per month.
The TWC store in Vestal, NY (and Im sure its the same with all of them) is horrendously mismanaged.Every time I have the misfortune of going there to swap out a piece of equipment, there can be as many as 25 people jammed in there waiting in line with only 2 or 3 out of 8 stations open. What is the logical solution when you see people backed all the way to the door? Duh, get more help at the registers. Simple as that. Maybe they keep operating this way to discourage people from coming to the store. You (TWC) keep pissing your customers off and wonder why so many are switching to Direct TV or Dish.
T3/T4 timeouts constantly causing my modem to reboot. First two technicians sent out told me everything looked fine. Third technician told me it was faulty wiring in my house line and rerouted a new line around my house. Still getting the timeouts. Ive tried different modems (including one supplied by Time Warner cable), Different coax cables, different power supplies for the modem and nothing has fixed the issue. This is obviously something on their end but there doesnt seem to be any way to file an issue; their last resort is to send out a technician to give me the same rundown.Ive had this issue for months and I am at my wits end with dealing with this company. If there were any other reliable ISPs in the area I would switch in an instant, regardless of price. Easily the worst service Ive ever experienced.UPDATE: My issues have since been resolved, but not without a significant hassle and constant work on my end. I spoke to an online technician that indicated my issues seemed to be ingress on the line and that they would need to send out a technician to verify. He told me that technicians typically dont look for ingress on the line unless specifically told to. We scheduled an appointment and they sent out a technician that was able to verify that it was indeed ingress on the line caused by a neighbor on the same network. They adjusted the circuitry at the pole to reduce the effect my neighbors faulty equipment had on the network and scheduled an appointment with them to fix the issue on their end. Since then Ive had a stable internet connection.While I am relieved to finally have this resolved, the process involved to get to root cause has left me extremely frustrated and disappointed. TWC/spectrum is certainly willing to assist with any issues and are actually quite good at scheduling technicians and visits, however I have no confidence in their technical abilities to debug and fix their own network and hardware. My opinion and rating have not changed.
Everyone there was very unfriendly and quite rude. I was there for over an hour did not and did not have my problem solved. The workers were very unfriendly and very unhelpful. Spectrum cable is sure going downhill from Time Warner and I didnt think that was possible. The worker tried to tell me I couldnt even disconnect my service refuse to take my box and was very rude. I noticed many people in the store were there to cancel their service not surprising at all.
Worst company ever. Id rather punch myself in the face repeatedly than ever deal with these people again. Rude customer service doesnt care at all if youre not getting the internet speeds youre paying for. I pay 100 dollars a month for internet that is supposed to be 50mbps and I get on average about 5mbps. Ive had 3 technicians come to fix the problem. This has been going on for 2 months and the useless technicians have been unable to figure out the problem. Do yourself a favor and get your internet elsewhere.
I had to give Time Warner Cable one star, because there is no option for half a star. After one year on a new promotional package, they bumped up my rates 25%. When I called to have this put back on promotion(mind you Ive been a customer for over ten years) they were unable to access those promotions because that is a different department. They then wont offer to transfer you to that department, but magically offer separate promotions.If you sign up for anything with these crooks, you can expect sub par service, with blackouts, packet loss, and awful customer service. If you make an agreement with one rep, that conversation will magically not be found on your account notes the next time you call.Sub par internet, horrible customer care.
If it was possible to give zero stars. Ive been with them for less than a month and Ive had so many issues if you have the option to get something else unlike me do it. My internet kept going in and out at will but only when I really needed it. They had a guy come out NOT from time warner but with a contracted company the guy tells my there is nothing wrong he happened to come at one of those times that I happened to have service and as soon as he leaves its out. Waste of time and money. After several angry calls they finally accepted that the problem was their modem and apparently the modem had a bad device history asking me to go in and have it swapped out. I dont understand why not the trash but thats where I am now waiting in the longest line of life to switch out this terrible modem fingers crossed this one works. Terrible terrible terrible terrible experience thus far.
The bane of internet and TV service. Customer service is horrible, prices for internet are ungodly high for speeds that are barely average for internet in 2016. Every year when the promo price runs out is like a chore to talk to them to keep your bill from putting you into debt. We need competition up here so monopolies like this can start feeling the heat of competition. Maybe then they would give us support and service worth the money they are pumping out of us.
We have Internet only. The price (which is ridiculous for one service) goes up every year and the quality, I swear, goes down. My upload and streaming rates are just awful. The customer service is terrible. They must be trained to only make the company money without any actual help provided to the customer. I really wish TWC didntt hold a monopoly on cable internet in the area. Im about at the point where Im thinking its not worth it.
My account always has money and its set up to take money every time it needs a payment. well today i find out i owe over 3 times what my monthly bill is... and when i call the customer service line is quiet and crackly, and the guy on the other line sounds stoned and mumbles. I called back a few times trying not to get smokey Mcmumble mouth but he picks up the phone mkagjiaejg bushis jason every time.
How is this not an actual crime, isnt this the definition of a monopoly?? Where are our legislators? Like nearly everyone else on the planet I cannot stand Time Warner Cable. The customer service is so bad that I wonder if they could possibly make it worse. I used the chat service to inquire about dropping from a triple play bundle to Internet only and I had to ask the same simple question over 10 ten times and still never got an accurate answer. Infuriating. I actually asked the agent if they were intentionally trying to irritate me. How is it allowed to only have a single provider? Ugh!!!!
This company is no different then their predecessor Time Warner. I called because my special offer is about to expire and is going to increase by 12%!!!! roughly 3 min into the conversation they reduce the increase by 6%. then they inform me regardless my increase will be back at 12% this time next year. the end result is they bait you with this promo so in a two year period my cable will increase by over 12%. Spectrum is very unprofessional and base their increase on the fact that hopefully the consumer is not paying attention to the notice after the promo. If the consumer calls then Spectrum takes half off in one year but will collect it the following year. I will be forwarding this to the BBB and the Attorney General to see what they think. Regardless I now have 12 months to find a provider that does not take advantage of their consumers. What happen to their commercial about paying for the services you only want? Now i see why they have such a poor google rating. Do not do business with this company, avoid at all costs.
Went to cancel my service, and went thru HELL. This company customer service is horrid. Its bad when you know you have to call them and DREAD it all day because they will waist your time trying to keep you, run you through hoops, and avoid the one thing you want done. I asked 40 times to cancel my service and took 30 min, that should have taken 3 min. I will never go back to this company, and i regret having to put 1 star on this report, because that is the only way it will let me submit. should be 0 star
Weve been having service trouble for a couple weeks now and I finally got around to calling. It took about a minute to get a live person on the phone and I was able to schedule a service appointment within an hour. Not bad. Still think the service is too expensive in general but we really have no alternatives.
So We had an installation service set. We live in Owego New York so my only guess is they were the ones assigned. we live in a locked apartment complex so i called early this to leave my number so they can call me when they get here so I can let them in. window was 10a-11a. I went up at 10:55a to check and i literally saw the van pulling out. I called TWC sales rep who got in contact with my installer and they said they couldnt return and said I wasnt home. Confused how they could know that when the didnt come inside. hmmmm..... I dont think we will be that smiling family in all the commercials.... very upsetting
My mother, a 20+ year faithful customer, has been trying to get an afforable bill since being widowed 18 months ago. Her cable package has been changed to the base package, wont allow her to drop the security system, and her bill has since gone up by $30/month for essentially less service. TWC had no sympathy for her loss or inability to afford their services. My mother and people like her are why Time Warner is rich, its about loyal customers not new customers. They are as money hungry, ignorant, and incompassionate as modern day Republicans. I hope they get whats coming to them.
Time Warner is wonderful. You pay a lot of money, and you sure get your moneys worth! Their internet is especially fabulous. It shuts itself off every half hour to remind you to pick up a book and read for the next half a day. Its totally awesome! Dont get it if you dont like reading though, since the eight hour reading breaks from the internet are mandatory! ... Ive honestly never had such an unreliable internet provider. I wish zero stars was a thing...
They charge to much just for internet unless your a new client. $77.15 a month for turbo internet (20 mb/s) they dont tell you they are gonna charge a rental fee of $8 for the modem, and when i called and asked if i could buy the modem to keep my bill down, they told me no. There is no competition in the area for other providers so unfortunately we pay the price. I would say that they are very good at getting people to upgrade there services and saying its cheaper. Honestly i think ill switch back to dish even though dish has slower internet speed, and sense i already bought the modem and tv boxes, i will not have to pay any monthly rental fees.
I pay more and more each month and have even upgraded to the 60mbps since it has been Spectrum. Even with all the upgrading and paying more, I get bumped off and have bad connection more so than ever. It is frustrating to not have good service with the representatives and with the connection. Time Warner Cable spectrum sucks and will be going with Verizon for more for less money.
Watch your back when you dealing with the company! I was charged with my last month service fee when I returned the router to them. I am 100% sure that I have paid the last month bill but they cancel my online account and I do not have access to my payment history! The staff there said they cannot print one for me. So I have no proof whatsoever!God bless that I moved to NYC, and there are way to much choices here! Never use TWC again in my life!!! Hate it!!!!!!!!
Like others, I wish I could give zero stars. TWC was in my driveway this morning doing some sort of pole / line work. Great work! They managed to sever my service connection. They never announced their arrival or departure, nor did they check to see if they caused any problems. By the time I noticed, they were pulling away! Thanks to TWC causing an outage for me, I had to use valuable time of my own to get them to come fix their self made problem. Thumbs down. I left Time Warner Cable TV in 2011 in favor of DIRECTV. I have never regretted that move. If I had a viable alternate provider for Internet Service I would drop TWC in a second.
Been a customer for years and paying over $70 just for internet that the company refuses to acknowledge is not the proper speeds. Price started at $40 and has steadily increased with no explanation of promotional offer for being a loyal customer. Have inquired 4 times about lower advertised prices SUCH AS 60Mbps for 44.99a/mo and because I am not NEW I dont qualify. Canceling this weekend and signing on with another company. Make the switch, Spectrum will not honor you as a client...but instead take needless amounts of money for monthy services that just arent up to Par....also $70 a month only gets me 20Mbps vs the promo of 60Mbps for 44.99...are you joking?
Spectrum has been for me the worst TV, phone, and internet provider Ive ever worked with. I paid @ $169 in the fall of 2018, then $179+ in Jan, then$192+ in Feb 202+ in Mar..when I called the customer service no., Cortez told me that I needed to migrate to Spectrum which I did. Cortez got me a rate of $178+, so I pd it for Mar. When I got home from Fla, none of my 3 tvs worked because I was supposed to stream everything from a mobile app which I never asked for ....Some of the tech associates that Ive called for help did an excellent job however..like Jordan in the Binhamton area. He had me switch to the Spectum boxes and got me a much better rate. And Cindy on the tech line who patiently helped me connect both of new Spectum boxes. So bottom line, Spectrum has been quite disappointing in serving me with a few noteable tech people who help make this service work for us the public.
Worst possible internet provider worldwide. However, if you are addicted to online games, this company is perfect for you ! They will not let you play more than 1 hour in a day, and while playing your ping will increase without a reason. You will have to deal with customer service representatives who have no idea about ping and they will want you to spell it; P-I-N-G !
This company has to have one of the worse customer service departments. I called asking to lower my bill after the one year mark and all the guy did is try to up my bill then when I restated what I wanted he told me there was nothing cheaper then what I have currently. I dont understand why I couldnt get the same special as before.
Terrible monopoly holding everyone in the area hostage! Theres simply no alternative if you want somewhat decent internet speeds. Price is astronomical without the speeds to match. Im getting 8mbps right now on the 20mb plan! I really hate this company to be honest and will dump them immediately if/when a viable competitor arrives.
Terrible customer service and terrible service, period. Overcharging for internet that isnt even half the advertised speed and channels that come in fuzzy and pixelated on an HD box I get charged extra each month to use! Save yourself the headache and inevitable hassle of cancellation and get another provider.
I am paying $60 a month for 50mbps connection, yet I am lucky if it clocks in at 12 mbps. I called their support trying to find out what the problem was and they told me that its my modem. The modem that they force me to pay a fee every month to use, in addition to the fact they also force me to use an out dated hunk of junk modem. When I asked them to replace my modem they gave me half a dozen reasons why I had to use a 10 year old modem and hanged up on me.
This used to be Crime-Warner cable. They destroyed that name, now they started calling themselves Speculum...until they run that name into the ground.A den of thieves.They double bill, charge random fees and never get paperwork right. Constantly must go in to resolve, as they never answer their phone.Call Dish, or go without before dealing with these criminals.
Ive had twc for a yr now, after 8 months my box started messing up on a regular basis, the same error everytime it needed to reboot, A101 . for a week straight ... i called for support.. they set up a service call, and told me they would send a new box free of charge, ok thats fine . so i told them you have a tech commming out cancel the order for the box.. they said they did, they never did, 1 hr after the tech left the new box came after they were told to cancel the order.. i went to run lines from one tv to another and went to get my splitter,and then came to notice that the tech took my parts that i had purchased.. and then if you read the print on any payerwork for prices, they charge $25 for any trip they make to your house, so they scammed me to try to make a quick $25 to retrieve the box that was sent ...that should of been cancled...and never sent in the first place... after complaining for a week straight they tried to offer me an upgrade.... like i dont want ur upgrade ..your service SUCKS...as well as the prices.
Long lines only 3 people working by the half an hour after waiting in line a 4th one finally showed up it would be in their best interest to have 1 person there dedicated to take peoples money or credit cards to pay the bills it would alleviate the long lines for people that just wanna pay their bill
TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE! TWC has the absolute worst service ever. I have been on the phone dealing with them for over 2 weeks now trying to get things situated and every time something new arises that is wrong with my account! They are charging me for nothing - every single customer service rep has a different answer to the same question. JUST TERRIBLE. Wish there was another internet provider in the area because I never want to give TWC another damn penny!!!
Horrible, horrible service. I was optimistic (despite the negative reviews) but my internet drops continually (blue circles go out…then cannot connect). You call after hours with promised technical support and service…you get Nothing. You try to meet their grace period on a bill (I keep paying all my bills!)…you get nothing. Horrible, horrible service, folks. Unfortunately, it is horrible.
I went online to see what their new promotions were. I found one to where I could upgrade my Internet for an additional $10 a month. When I called to speak to someone and inquire further they said it would be an additional $30 a month. The same company cant even be on the same page.
Spectrum is 100% a rip off. Like many other folks spectrum continues to screw you over where time Warner cable has left off. My father decided the other day that he wanted to dump his internet in favor for Verizon wireless jet pack for cheaper. The first attempt at going to spectrum was met with a guy at the door taking names for a 15-20 minute wait and counting. The second visit later that day was a 10 minute wait but at this point im committed.During the visit i told the lady at the counter internet is to be removed she tells me that she would half to take me out of time Warner and move me to spectrum which spectrum wants to take the $20 basic TV and sky rocket it immediately to $80 for basic TV. now after my initial vapor lock followed by some choice words, she said that is just TV. Spectrum is out of their mind when direct TV and dish offer better options for less. I left signed up for direct TV for $43.00 a month at half the price. spectrum is always sending those TV offers for far less then what i was told so what gives. Their is to many options spectrum.
Worst internet provider on the planet. I agreed to get their promotion for cable + extreme internet because it was cheaper than the extreme internet alone and I can barely watch Netflix. Such a joke service. I am really surprised they are still in business, Id give them 0 stars if I could.
Good luck with a cable box. They only give me used ones and they break shortly after I record shows I desperately want to see. When I ask for a new one they give me another used one and say thats all they have. What happens to the new ones? #on my way to the cable store again
We had the new digital cable boxes installed, setup was easy,,,but the boxes took almost 4 hours to get a signal, before they could be activated,, once activated the starter package$24,, is only some 12-15 local channels,,no ESPN or ESPN2,,the basic starter package SHOULD include those 2big time channels,, customer service said it would be$69 more $$ on top of the$24 to get the next package they offer with ESPN and ESPN2,,that is INSANE not to get the 2 channels in the starter package,,it is a good thing they are offering the boxes free for 2years,but we are going to cancel the service in January and upgrade to HD on my DIRECTV service as I dont get local channels on my DIRECTV service as of the time being, VERY, DISAPPOINTED in the channel line up and will cancel service after football season in January and go strictly with DIRECTV,,,FU spectrum and time Warner,,I would give them a half of a star if it was offered!!!!!
Every time I go to the Vestal NY TWC store, They have 5 windows, 2 people working and the line is out the door. 20 to 25 people in line waiting 30 minutes to get help. UNEXCEPTABLE. I just got phone service and I cant get any help learning how to make the features work. The guy said it was all on line. Bull S$*T!! I need a manual to operate the options on the phone service. ((prssflash to transfer to second call?? I dont have a flash button))
The absolute worst out there. I cannot believe the level of incompetence. The customer service people play this sick little game with you by leaving you on hold forever and then transferring you to someone who knows nothing. Then you have to state your case all over again. NEVER AGAIN. Verizon here I come.
The on demand channels are NEVER available.. I have to reboot the f****** box EVERY time I watch a single episode of a show until its unavailable again, right after that one episode is over. After rebooting it, Im allowed one episode on demand. Thats the only way theyll work at all. No one should have to do it THAT MUCH for only one episode to work...
The customer support (and the techs who have come out to the house, particularly Buck, who appears to have a Ph.D. in all things related to the internets) have been utterly awesome. That aside, Spectrum seems to be run by Satan and his various minions. Case in point, I upgraded my internet service to get faster speeds and THEY CHARGED ME A $200 UPGRADE FEE. What kind of souless arse-clowns do that?Me: Hi, Id like to upgrade my services and pay you more for them.Spectrum: Um, no.Me: Great! Wait... what?Spectrum: Yeah, we are not interested in that. Maybe if you give us some cash, we will think about it. How much money do you have?Me: Why the heck would I need to bribe you to upgrade my internet? They are just lucky Verizon fios and google optics are not available or this company would shut down horrible non americans call centers that do nothing to help and the company charges even when you have an issue god forbid they penalize themselves and give you a credit when will other competition come so there is more options
Had 3 appointments needed to just install internet, paid for 50 meg per sec, but only recieved a single computer modem with a max speed of 15, told thats all id paid for, driving over to the store after work tonight to try to switch out the modem, good thing I know how to work with computers, or theyd have to come out again, and im not sure I trust them to get it right after a 4th time.
TIme Warner does sucks!I had same billing issue with Time Warner,when our cable was first hooked up we had to pay first month and following month so we were a month ahead and when I disconnected service they said that we would not get money back for the month that we had paid ahead.

2022-07-02They increased my bill 33% from $50 to $75 just for the internet without even asking first. Now I have a worse connection and pay more for it. They sent me a letter after saying they increased the mbps from 100 to 200 for free, but yet the connection and upload/download speed is lower now so just a lie. Talked to customer service multiple times. They have me unplug my router and plug it back in did it a few times with no improvement whatsoever. Then the woman claimed I must not have unplugged it lol. Overall bad customer service, bad connection, over priced. I am on the waiting list for starlink now. Cant wait to cancel their service. Oh and been a customer for over 15 years but they really dont care. Goodbye spectum.

2022-05-05I adamantly told the representive i only wanted internet. no tv. no tv. no tv. turns out he billed me for tv services which also came with a broadcast Fee so ive been overcharged the whole time ive had services with them. Conveniently for them, if you dont dispute that charge within 60 days, they can do absolutely nothing to help you. They also conveniently cant pull the phone call that would be proof you didnt ask for services they are charging you for. Im looking into starting a class-action suit against spectrum for overcharging their customers purposely. If you were billed for services you did not request please email me or message me.

2021-07-10There arent as many close parking spots and there is quite a grade to walk up to get to the sidewalk. Also hard to walk down the grade because of passing cars and being so steep. The prior store had more parking and was on a level lot. Nice store once you get inside. Costomer service is much different and better, in my opinion.

2021-08-30They are very pushy for extra services at additional costs. The service is terrible and very inconsistent and Im paying for the middle level package. I am even using their routers and I am hard wired in and I still keep losing connection. I could not recommend any less. If you have other options please go elsewhere.

2021-04-11The Vestal store in the Town Square Mall constantly has a wait line either out the door or close to it. I have stopped on 4 separate occasions to return their low quality, bottom of the barrel router/modem.(finally purchased my own so that my family and I could use our phones and tv’s on our own wifi)and did not have time to wait 30+ minutes just to return something. I don’t know why they don’t have a kiosk set up just for returning hardware.

Absolutely trash service, frequently the internet nonexistent and when it is present it barely is, takes 8 hours to download something that use to take 20 minutes tops. We all know that if literally any other provider came to the area youd go under in a month.
