Spring Forward Physical Therapy is a life saver!! I was referred to Lynn in August by my knee doctor, who was helping me with my IT band syndrome. I had just about lost all hope that I would ever run again when I first met with Lynn, as my injury had been preventing me from running for almost 7 months. I left my first session with a new sense of optimism and determination - after thoroughly examining my knee and hearing my story, Lynn enthusiastically told me that Id be running again in no time and that he knew exactly what work had to be done. Explaining to me the anatomy of my knee and the exact goals of our work together (strengthening surrounding muscles, stabilizing my hips etc), I was more motivated than ever to diligently do my home exercises and come back on a weekly basis for the next few months. In our sessions, Lynn was very hands-on, mobilizing my IT band and massaging different areas of my knee. I began feeling improvement only after a few weeks, and now, not only am I running again, but I also feel stronger than ever. Most importantly, though, Lynn has given me a new-found and invaluable knowledge of how to protect my knee going forward.Lynn is incredibly smart about how the body works and an overall fantastic physical therapist. I feel so lucky to have found him! He is also very amiable and makes sessions lively and fun. I have also had the pleasure of working once with Mary Jean, who I also highly recommend.Spring Forward is conveniently located and in a beautiful, clean facility. I cant thank Spring Forward enough and would recommend it to anyone without any hesitation.

Ive been going to Lynn for over a year now. I first came in for tendinitis in my knee/ IT band issues that were so bad to the point where I couldnt walk and was working from home due to the pain. Lynn was able to get me back to walking and then running in a mere number of weeks. I was even able to run the NYC Marathon later that November!Currently were working on my recovery from surgery for a labral tear in my hip. I had surgery in late March of this year, and just under three months out, I feel a world of difference from booking 2x a week with Lynn. Im not back to running yet but Im already ahead of schedule as far as joint mobilization and range of motion and my hip is feeling pretty great overall.Lynn is very hands on, which is what you need in a PT. Each patient has his undivided attention during their sessions. And he has a wealth of knowledge about the body and ways to fix it when injuries occur. I wont go anywhere else! His bedside manner is superb. His office is new, clean, bright and welcoming. From my knee to my IT band to my hip, Lynn has been able to put me on the road to recovery with each injury, personalizing the experience based on my bodys limits and restrictions. I 100% recommend him. If youre currently seeing another PT, switch now. Youll wish you had done so earlier after your first session with Lynn.

I was referred to Dr. Lynn Berman at Spring Forward Physical Therapy by one of the top Sports Orthopedic Surgeons in the Upper East Side. He promised me that if anyone could help me overcome the PFPS that had developed in both knees after years of wear-and-tear from Crossfit, it would be Dr. Berman. He called Lynn directly on the spot and made the appointment for me.I was a bit nervous to start physical therapy because I felt that it would be a waste of my time. In the first session with Lynn, we sat and he asked me a ton of questions to get a full download of what was ailing me. After evaluating me further, he came up with a plan for my treatment -- recommended I see him twice per week for therapy and that I would need to be diligent about the home care exercises he prescribed.Lynn is a very hands-on physical therapist and he employs different modalities to help his patients. For my knees, that meant a lot of weird knee/ leg massages and some kind of ultrasound machine; both felt like nothing was happening… magic! Each session finished with 15-minutes of cold therapy (ice packs). I was told to be very careful about my movements; Lynn taught me how to properly perform daily activities, such as walking up/ down stairs in a way that wouldnt aggravate my knees. We also worked through several exercises along the way. I was desperate to continue my workout routine, and Lynn worked with me on modifications so that I could exercise without hurting myself. I did my home care exercises every night. Lynn told me it would be important for me to build strength in my weak areas to support proper knee function. All that being said, it is now 3-months later and I am back to Crossfit! More than anything, what I took away from my physical therapy sessions with Lynn was that I needed to be more aware of what I was doing to prevent future injury. Lynn was clear about his expectations from me as a patient as well. While I am back to my routine, there are a lot of things I still dont yet do (or at least I do them with less weight). What I liked most about Lynn is that he is caring and not judgmental. I was adamant with him about my desire to continue with my workout albeit high-impact, and he was keen on helping me get there. Lynn is also a riot and made each session super fun.Spring Forward Physical Therapy is a professional, well-run establishment filled with knowledgable and caring professionals. The new office on 60th Street is absolutely gorgeous. Tanesha, the receptionist, is a doll. I would recommend Dr. Berman or any therapist in this facility without reservation.

Lynn at Spring Forward PT is one of those special practitioners that is able to get to the source of whats causing pain rather than just treating the symptoms. Before meeting Lynn, I spent 3 years with shoulder pain, visiting at least three different physical therapists over the course of that period with little to no results. They all had the same by-the-book routines.Lynn spent just 2 months with me and the improvements were significant. It was clear from the beginning that he takes a more holistic approach to healing. It also helps that hes a really great guy and truly cares about your recovery. Highly recommend.

I am so grateful to Dr. Kelly Picciurro & the whole Spring Forward Physical Therapy office.I have been to many physical therapy offices and there is nowhere better!!! I have been going to Spring Forward PT for about three and a half months now and I can honestly say that I have not seen this much improvement in my chronic shoulder issue EVER and I owe that all to Dr. Picciurro! Dr. Kelly Picciurro is the BEST!!! She is thorough, knowledgeable, caring and reassuring. She is very invested in the healing process and spends each session giving 100%. Not only is Dr. Picciurro highly skilled, she is very dedicated and has exceptional bedside manner. She always listens to me and assesses how to best treat my issues and limitations of which there are many!It is also important to state that during these times with COVID that the office is following all CDC guidelines & it is exceptionally clean. Being that I am high risk it is really nice that you have individual sessions as well as individual private rooms with a closed door. Around the office there are many hand sanitizing stations and in every room there are high tech air purifiers. This is one of the few places I feel very safe!I also need to mention that James at the front desk is amazing! He is always friendly and very helpful and professional in setting up appointments, explaining the insurance/billing costs and generally making the whole experience very efficient & easy.I cannot recommend Spring Forward Physical Therapy & Dr. Kelly Picciurro enough!

I had a great experience working with Mary Jean at Spring Forward while recovering from a recent shoulder injury. Mary Jean, a highly-skilled physical therapist, took time to understand my injury and after assessing my capabilities, established a program and routines to ensure a safe and timely recovery. She is extremely professional and truly cares about your progress and overall wellness – always providing informative answers and suggestions to guide you through the process. Her combination of manual treatment, at-home exercises and follow-ups proved to be extremely effective. I have gone through PT at other places and nothing compares to Spring Forward and Mary Jean’s knowledge and expertise – highly recommended!

Lynn is a great physical therapist PERIOD.For those who don’t want to read a long review, Lynn saved me 1 surgery (partially torn rotator cuff) and is currently helping me heal from another (ACL Reconstruction). He is personable, attentive and will tailor your PT based on your individual needs, abilities and obviously, injury. The first time I needed Lynn’s help was for a partially torn rotator cuff. I was told to do PT, but it seemed like surgery was in the cards. Lynn spent a lot of time working with me to strengthen the muscles around my shoulder. Ultimately, we were able to get it to a point where I felt 100% and got back to day to day activities which for me include lifting weights and playing basketball. Just those results should convince you that Lynn is worth seeing. However, that is not where it ends. It’s not just about the results. During the process Lynn highlighted issues with my posture when I walk as well as little cheats that I use when I lift weights. All of those were contributing factors to my injury. He also showed me ways to strengthen my shoulder and work on my core. He basically ensured that the risk of re-injury was lower and made it fun to keep the work up.The second time I came to Lynn for PT was post ACL reconstruction and surgery to repair a torn meniscus. I emailed Lynn after surgery and he immediately called me. He gave some advice regarding things I could start doing a few days post-op. We then scheduled an appointment to start PT. I could get into all the different exercises and things that he showed me, but again from a results standpoint, I am weeks ahead of schedule according to both Lynn and the Dr. While I continue to work with him to get me better, it’s already evident that I’m on the right path thanks to Lynn’s guidance and treatment. In addition to all the above help, Lynn makes you want to come to PT. He shares stories, jokes etc to make the time more enjoyable. Now all he needs to do is get me back on a basketball court (which is a few months away). I honestly wouldn’t use anyone else.

Spring Forward is all about YOU getting better. They focus entirely on solving your issue rather than the symptoms. Ive had back and neck pain for years. I met with Lynn for a detailed consult and he gave me all his attention and immediately identified issues that were causing my pain. He did a few exercises and I felt better right away. It was kind of ridiculous. Seriously. He feels that we can address the issues in a few sessions and get me to a much better place.Ive been in PT in the past and they just left me on the table with electrodes or just jumped into giving me cortisone. This place was entirely different in the approach. If you are having issues and want to really understand why things are happening and how to resolve them, youll love this place. Honestly, its surprising how many things can be resolved with improved posture and stability.

One morning I woke up with no strength in my right arm, I could not pick up a chair, I tried a push-up, and fell over – after a doctors appt and an MRI I learned I had a pinched nerve in my neck, and the doctor was ready to perform surgery which would had the side-effect of limited motion on my neck. I asked if there are options, he said “well, you can try physical therapy.” With limited desire to have my neck cut open and reducing my range of motion (I’m only 40), I had to good fortune to meet Lynn as my physical therapist.Lynn’s table-side manner, professionalism, expertise, exercises, and manual manipulation (talented hands), solved my neck issue. I was able to play competitive tennis, ice hockey and golf, my true passions. Lynn inspired me to go to the gym regularly by planning safe and effective workout, he even spoke to the gym on my behalf to articulate my injury. Most important to me, is that he kept me out of surgery and truly fixed my issue. I have 100% trust in Lynn, so much so that I’ve recommended him to several friends and co-workers – Lynn helped them all, even on issues that other PTs were unable to resolve. I wish all my health care professionals were as talented in expertise and personality as Lynn.

My gynecologist referred me to Andrea Wood because I could hardly walk. Before that time my Achilles was being treated by a foot doctor, orthopedist and physical therapist. Because of no improvement I changed my orthopedist. He stopped PT because I was now having pains in my knee and hip. After consulting with Andrea I started treatment. Immediately I noticed change. I have now seen Dr. Wood 10 times and the change is remarkable. Even my orthopedist agrees.Andrea is professional, smart and caring. I am so lucky to have found her. Now I have a new sense of being. Since I am 76 I thought this would be my way of life. Now I am looking forward to traveling once again.Thank you Andrea.
