First room had a severely broken lock. 2nd room has little to no hot water and a screaming toilet. While out for the day the staff entered my room despite the do not disturb sign on the door. They moved my clothing off the bed and packed some of my higene products from the bathroom. My privacy was violated. The front desk staff was great, they acted very quickly to address my issues.
Positive: the beds were comfortable and the room was a nice size Negative: The room could have been cleaner! The plumbing in the shower needs some fixing. The breakfast in their pictures inlcuded a wafflemaker which my kids were excited about but that didnt actually exist. Same as the dinner food items from the bar.
Positive: Person at the front desk was very nice, and the bed was very comfortable. Negative: Basement floor by the laundry. Smelled, windows shut, AC too loud to use. Strangedividers had been added to make it a ¿suite¿. Very awkward layout. Only one small round soap. Towel so thin it tore in the middle.
The room was dirty. Rusty hand rails in the bathroom, and the tiles were uneven. The bathroom caulking looked like it was done by a child. Our toilet ran all night, and the bathroom door didnt actually close. We specifically asked for a higher floor in our reservation, upon checking in on what turned out to be the third floor, they gave us a second floor room. Were we parked and entered the hotel was filthy, there was a ripped bag of trash just sitting out by the door. Overall it was not worth what they charged. Very disappointing.
This was a great place to stay if you want to save money when youre going into New York City for the day. Couldnt ask for better staff right from the front desk to the shuttle drivers and the others working there.Rooms were very spacious, staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. Just loved it. Room prices were very reasonable. Cant wait to go back again!!!
As a 20 year old, I was denied the ability to check in because I have to be 21. This is understandable, as a universal rule for all Marriots. However, the man at the front desk was extremely rude and was talking down to me. He was unhelpful and trying to make me feel inferior. I know it is not his fault this is a rule, but why on EARTH would you work at a front desk if you are rude and condescending. Do better hiring, Marriot.
We checked in, went to our room, and promptly left. Our first impression before going to the room wasnt good. The place was dirty and even the corners of the elevator had dirt and crumbs piled up. Our room was worn in places, the deadbolt on the door was broken off, and it was freezing in it - below 60 degrees. The window appeared to be open an inch and wouldnt close. Thankfully, we called the Bonvoy desk and they found a room for us in the Westchester Marriott and refunded our two nights at the SpringHill Suites. Weve stayed in several SpringHill Suites before and have never been disappointed. This hotel doesnt measure up to the Marriott brand, in our opinion. We travel around the US and the world and stay in Marriott hotels. So far, this one was the worst. Sorry to sound so critical, but really Marriott? Have you inspected this place lately?
Pretty standard Marriott hotel experience. If youve been to one then you know what to expect. Generally comfy and clean rooms/bathrooms. I had a few issues at this location.First, the bathroom fan switch did not work in my room.Second, the air conditioner kept turning on every 20-30 min or so and it was really loud and right next to my bed. I could have turned it off, but then there would have been no AC. This kept waking me up at night.Third, the complimentary breakfast was really bad. There was only overcooked eggs, bacon, not-so-fresh fruits and a bit more.Fourth, most of the places of interest are about an 8 min drive away.
Good Hotel- Staff is great Ruben - Sade and Akira were great- good breakfast room was clean, Bar on site- The building you can tell that it’s Old- Parking lot needs some work- GYM needs work there absolutely nothing to work out, Management did explain that they are currently working on getting more equipment and also working on getting the A/C Fixed. No more complaints. Staff is Amazing we’ll come back.
One month before my initial check in on December 10, i reserved my room through Plumbenefits. At the hotel at check in, they charged me an extra $270 a deposit for in case any damages occur. On the 12 after check out, everything was fine, the $270 took two days to clear but than a day later on the 13 i see the hotel charged me an extra $211. I’ve call the hotel and asking for a refund but yet they are giving me the same excuse about it appearing 3-5 business days which was about two weeks already. Don’t Book At This Hotel Ever.
Yes, you will get a room, good Covid protocols, and a convenient location near to New York City. But, if something goes wrong, expect indifferent service, fobbing off responsibility to solve a problem, almost to the level of incompetence. My wife and I stayed at this hotel while our apartment in the Bronx was being repaired. Due to hurricane Ida, the hotel lost power and had to be evacuated. Not the hotels problem--its just nature. But, we left a small vanity kit in our room while stumbling out of the hotel in the dark. The hotel found it--great! And has not shipped it to us in over 40 days. And, we have sent five copies of prepaid FedEx mailing labels, arranged for FedEx pickup, made over 15 calls and still no lost item. Each call is answered by a friendly employee who happily informs us that someone else will call us or that the item will be shipped today. Its pure incompetence. Can you imagine a Marriott property that cannot send items by FedEx? A wedding rehearsal guest who leaves a personal item, would they be happy having to make 10, 20, or more calls to retrieve the item? Would you trust this hotel with business materials?
I have been staying in Marriott hotels for years and this is definitely NOT up to Marriott standards!!Definitely the worst part of the stay was that my partner and I paid $275 a night for a view of the dark and dingey inside of the parking garage. This is something I just cannot get over. There should have been a discount or even a heads up at check-in.The walls are so thin we could hear our neighbors next door, and even across the hall, at any given time. We had the pleasure of being awoken both nights by the upstairs neighbors doing cartwheels at 1am. If that wasnt bad enough, the room was directly next to the exit for that floor, meaning we could hear the door opening and slamming shut late at night and early in the morning. The lighting in front of the sink/mirrors was almost non-existent and I could barely see more than my silhouette. Im not sure how they expect anyone to get ready with zero lighting. In addition, 3 out of the 4 lights next to the bed did not work. The ceiling had spots everywhere. The blinds had a weird brown/black smear on them. The bathroom fan did not work at all. We were told this was because theyre silent fans, but it didnt help with moisture or smell at all. The shower curtain was ripped. The towels were awful; 1 out of the 3 provided was thick enough to even dry myself off.The coffee in the lobby was empty when we checked in at around 4pm and breakfast the next day was terrible.Overall, I would never stay at this hotel again. I feel like we got ripped off, and I would not recommend this place to anyone.Im giving 2 stars because the linens were at least clean and the staff was not rude.
I have been staying at this hotel since 2011. After Covid, staff changed, and the quality went down. I recently checked in on a Friday and checked out on a Monday. My king room was nice enough, but my fathers room across the hall was terrible. The air conditioning did not work when we checked in. The maintenance guy fixed it, but the room never cooked below 75. Saturday morning my father asked the front desk to change rooms since his was not cool. They said they would call him. By Saturday evening we had not received a call. We checked with the front desk and were able to change rooms, but I dont think we would have received this result had we not checked with the front deskMy fathers room also had no towels whatsoever. When we called down to the desk they said towels would be delivered. They were not. My room had one bath towel and one hand towel, which was not enough for two people. I called down Saturday morning and was told all the towels were in the laundry and fresh towels would be delivered to me within the hour. I never received my towels. Sunday morning I was able to get towels from the housekeeping staff.Other amenities that changed were the coffee was no longer 24 hrs and is now only available at breakfast, and housekeeping only checks/refills things upon request. The breakfast offerings were also limited and did not seem to be refilled often. If you were at breakfast first thing you had more options than if you went down at 9am.Pros I experienced were the housekeeping staff were very nice, hotel seemed clean, hot breakfast was available with to go bags.Cons: Rooms amenities were not maintained. Guest requests were not fulfilled in a timely fashion.
Stayed for a family weekend trip. The location and parking were great. Check in was a nightmare, extremely understaffed. The bathroom in the public area near the lobby was deplorable. The bed was clean and comfortable. There was no bedding provided for the pull out. The light in the bathroom was full of bugs. There are multiple holes in the walls from where things were removed. There was one tiny garbage can in the kitchen area, no can in or near the bathroom. There is no daily cleaning so the garbage can filled fast and had to be moved from room to room. Overall mediocre experience. I was disappointed.
I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. On check in, they were extremely rude and condescending. The room wasn’t ready even though I was there hours after check in. I was lied too as well. Once I got my room it was filthy. Had to switch rooms and actually move furniture myself to pull out the couch bed. The whole staff was disorganized and could care less about making our stay pleasant. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. There is a courtyard across the street. Stay there instead.
Spent a weekend there with a friend. The staff was friendly. The room was nice. Very comfortable. The view was wonderful. The only issues I had was an odd stain on the ceiling between the entrance and the desk, and with the shower rod in the bathroom. It wasnt secure in the wall. Other than that, we had a pleasant stay.
This is really a 2 star hotel. plumbing was loud and toilet ran most of the night. thin walls, paper thin bath towels. elevator smelled like a skunk had visited. guests and employees were not wearing masks in the lobby. spacious room was clean and large. wifi worked well. comfortable bed. friendly staff.
We had a pretty bad experience at Spring Hill Suites this past weekend. Most of the issues were due to incredible under-staffing. Starting from our check in, where there was a line of 3 parties deep, we all waited for 10 minutes until someone even came to the front desk. Then upon checking into our room we noticed that the entire floor was vibrating and we could hear the hum of machinery throughout the room. The room was somewhat musty smelling and just didnt feel totally clean. We indicated on our reservation that we had 3 people, yet we only had 1.5 sets of towels (which were extremely scratchy and so small they couldnt wrap up a child) and there were no extra sheets for the pull out bed. We called to the front desk for sheets, but after waiting 20 minutes, I went to the front desk to request sheets, and we waited another 25 minutes to get sheets to make up the bed. The next morning, we made 4 attempts to get coffee from the lobby (between 8:00-9:45am) and every time we were rudely told to wait 10 minutes yet there was not even a coffee urn set out. The room was missing lots of little things like tissues, some toiletries, etc. The gym should have just been closed--there was no A/C, the stationary bike was broken and there were no free weights aside from 40, 45, 50 lb dumbbells. Overall it was a really disappointing experience and wed be very unlikely to stay at any Springhill Suites (especially Tarrytown) again. It didnt even feel worth complaining about anything while we were there because we could never find anyone.
The first room they gave us, we couldnt get into the room it only open slightly and we heard music. We went upstairs and they changed our room. We requested for a later checkout at 2:00 p.m. she said okay no problem. The next day when we were leaving. At 12:30 we got a phone call saying that were going to be charged extra for the room. I told him no I asked the lady last night she said it would be fine. And then he went on to tell me there was no note on the account. The room has already been rented. Which I found off because he started the conversation you requested for a later checkout. I said Im just finishing up washing my son once Im done well leave we were out of there at 1:00 p.m. he didnt charge us additional fee but I was rushed out of there in 30 minutes with a 4 year old..... Not fun at all. The room we rented was on the ground floor. And it smells like a dirty bird cage. He had to leave the air on all night or else the smell would just overtake the room. The room itself was clean and the pool was not in service
This building obviously needs some attention. An intense unpleasant water smell from some kind of flooding was everywhere on the first floor. The hotel offered a grab and go breakfast option since the buffet was closed due to covid. A good idea, poorly implemented. Guests have to fill out an easily lost quarter sheet of paper and return it to the front desk by midnight. In the morning you can grab your packaged breakfast. However, when I went to pick mine up there was no staff to be found anywhere. I waited for at least 10 minutes before going behind the bar and grabbing the bag with my name on it and going back to my room. The food in the bag was odd, a prepackaged breakfast sandwich I was supposed to warm up in my in-room microwave didnt have any instructions on how long to microwave for. Nor was there a plate to put it on. Additionally the orange juice I had asked for was not in the bag, and the milk that was in the bag was warm due to being left out. This hotel clearly suffers from a lack of attention.
I gave this hotel 1 star only because 0 stars isnt available. Elevator wasnt working. No soap in room. No spare toilet paper either. Breakfast was free but not very good - vegan sausage and bad-tasting eggs. We requested extra towels, but it took a day for them to be delivered - we were ready to check out when they arrived.Apparently my experience was not unique. I overheard another guest complaining to the front desk staff, I dont get freaked out easily, but blood on the pillow is a little too much.
We arrived earlier than we thought and our check in time. The gentleman checking us took our bags and put them behind the desk until our rooms were ready. Very polite and positive staff. Rooms were very clean and smelled nice, no foul odors or smoke smell. I just wish the bar would have been open. It’s only open a couple days a week and obviously we weren’t there on one of those days. I understand with staffing issues and shortages though. I have nothing reallyNegative to say about this location
Very friendly staff who new the area well as I was in town for a funeral of a close friend. Was impressed with the hotels Covid19 protocols. The entire hotel was spotless.Room was super clean everyday I was there and the shower was to die for. It had appeared to have been recently renovated to the point two people could easily fit in it. Water pressure was good each time I went to shower and the hot water never ran out.Location was a bit further than I would have liked from the funeral home but the drive wasnt too bad. This hotel is another example of why Springhill Suites are a far better choice than Fairfield Inns, their sister Marriott brand
Im a Marriott member, and have stayed at countless Marriott hotels. This is the first experience that did not sit well. The hotel structure is funky. The 1st & 2nd floors are underground and some of the bedroom windows look out into the parking garage. The hotel rooms were not very clean, especially for what would be expected with covid. We had a room with 2 queens and were only provided one towel. There was only one trash can (no recycling) in the room, and the shower head was coming out of the wall. The only working ice machine was on the 6th floor. My family was staying for a wedding, and they also had other issues and challenges. The staff was nice and helpful, but not a cozy stay overall.
I actually really enjoyed this hotel. The room was very comfortable and ideal in terms of utility, which is great for those of us who find ourselves itinerant! I took the advice of a fellow reviewer who said to request a room in the back (which gives a view of wooded area). The reception area was adequate, with a bar/short order restaurant open in the evening hours, and a breakfast area (temporarily closed due to pandemic; there is a Continental breakfast closer to the elevator bank). Check-in was easy and accommodating. There is indoor parking available that gives better access to the lower floors (main floor is actually on 3).
My mom & I stayed in a King Studio Suite for our weekend trip, and we loved it. It was very relaxing. I really liked the kitchenette and the bed was very comfortable. The grab-and-go breakfast was easy & convenient. One little thing though was that our clean towels were still kind of dirty; one towel even still had a weird brown stain on it.
Spring Hill Suites was a great place to stay close to shops and museum. Nice place to get away. Parking lot is a little small but not a big issue. No housekeeping until Wednesdays . Breakfast was good just the basics. The only issue was the hot water at the end of stay went out .
This hotel did not want to offer much in hospitality. We requested a high floor upon booking and was given a low floor. We booked a King suite and was given a room with a queen sized bed. The sewer backed up on our last morning and it took maintenance over an hour to show up. Front desk didnt call us to follow up nor offered us another room so we could use the bathroom to get ready. We had to ask for another room. Otherwise, I think it was expected of us to leave without showering or to visit the lobbys restroom to do our business. We werent offered a discount either. The rooms didnt come with water nor was water available to purchase. The sink to the bathroom didnt have hot water, we had to use the kitchenette sink. Breakfast was less than continental, it was a joke, it was just muffins and one pot of coffee. They had oatmeal there, but no milk to prepare it. The coffee/tea area in the room didnt have sugar packets. We were given an adjoining room and our neighbors were smoking all night. No attempt from front desk to make them stop or move us. This hotel really went downhill from the last time we stayed there. The only good thing was the whirlpool.
Sleep was comfortable, cookies were hard and burnt, there was no bedding for the pullout bed and extra towels and washcloth for the 3rd person that the room was booked showing. Staff was friendly, pleasant and efficient. The bedding that was brought for the pullout my daughter complained she started itching once she laid in the bed so she came and slept with me. Maybe the mattresses wasnt cleaned in the pullout.
No one was at the front desk when I called several times before I got there. When I did get there no one was at the front desk either. I had waited over ten minutes before calling reservations to see if they could contact someone. The front desk person was hiding out in the closed restaurant it looked like. I got there at 2am after a long trip. Was not ideal. When I got to my room only one of the lights in the room worked. There were cheerios and cheerio crumbs all over the desk. Almost none of the outlets worked to charge my phone besides the one where the tv was plugged into across the room from the bed. Again, not ideal. There was also urine on the tile floor in the bathroom. I cannot fairly evaluate the dining as I did not indulge.
The night before our stay, I received an email to check in early, which I had hoped would help things go more smoothly this time. I checked in early and we arrived shortly after 3, which is the regular hotel check in time. Upon arrival, I went to the desk to check in because the mobile key and check in information was not send to me through the Marriott Bonvoy app. The woman at the desk greeted me pleasantly and told us it would be about a 5 minute wait while she made sure the room was ready for us. Considering the fact that I had checked in early online, I thought this was a bit odd, but was able to wait. After several minutes, she called us up to the desk to give us keys and the basic hotel information. Immediately, we were disappointed and expressed that. We had requested a room on a higher floor due to the road noise from the Thruway behind the hotel. We were given a room on the second floor, which is below the lobby. When I inquired about a room on a higher floor, we were told that wouldnt be ready for several hours. When we entered our room- the room I had checked in early online AND waited for in the lobby, the room was NOT ready! I couldnt believe my eyes! The bed had a fitted sheet on it, but was not made. No linens were available in the room, no cleaning staff nearby. The pillows were stacked on the couch. We did check for cleanliness of the room and bathroom overall, which appeared acceptable. We attempted to return to the desk to inquire as to why the room was not ready and when it would be ready and found the elevator did not work. There was a small typed sign posted stating to call the front desk from the house phone to call the elevator. When we called, no one answered the phone. We took the stairs. Thoroughly annoyed and frustrated at this point, we returned to the front desk to inquire about our room and the elevator. The woman at the desk told us it would be a few hours until our bed would be made and offered to change our room. It didnt make sense to us to move to another room after we had been told several times this room would be ready and it appeared as though other rooms, particularly those on a higher floor, were not ready past check in time at 3pm. She was not able to address the elevator issue, nor explain why no one answered the phone. While we were out, we attempted to contact the hotel several times, to no no avail. The phone at the front desk remained unanswered.
I really enjoyed my stay at SpringHill Suites I recommend it to any couples families with children its so beautiful that they have everything in for the kids and everything at the pool togym that you would definitely enjoy your stay the rooms ARe beautifulTHE STAFF WAS AMAZING
Got a room that smelled like smoke. (I don’t smoke.) had to stay there for a night. No one answered the phone at the night or was at the desk in the morning. Didn’t get a new room till 9 AM. Nice lady helped me. But ended up in a room with an overflowing sink with brown stuff in it. Got changed to a decent room on my last day of staying there. Would not recommend to stay here! (Breakfast was tiny apple juice and muffins )
I have been staying at this hotel so many times...Always a good experience, unfortunately not this time..Front desk wasnt nice and welcoming as usual, the lady sounds, like she doesnt want to be there. The bed sheets wasnt complete, and only one trash can, by the bathroom area??? When I called the front desk to asked until what time the breakfast was, the person told me that I need to fill out a form....I asked since when, since no body informed me about this, and she just said , the forms are in the lobby... I was there celebrating my 17th Anniversary, and the experience hasnt been the best. Service is very poor, and it wasnt like that
First let me say this bad review does NOT apply to the staff. The manager Jennifer was very helpful and friendly and tried to fix our problems. The room was very dark: dark colors on the walls, a wall separating out the sitting/kitchen area blocked the natural light from the window, and almost all the lights were dim. The lights on one side of the bed did not work. They were not plugged in, and could not be plugged in because the hotel has installed a fancy new headboard/side table combo that blocked the outlet! And I could not use the house phone to complain about the problems because the phone was dead. I used my cell phone to try to call the front desk, but the staff was very busy and did not answer my call. I had to go down to the front desk to alert the staff to the problems.
I stayed overnight with my husband and 3 young children after a trip to Legoland and The Jack OLantern Blaze. The room was sufficient for an overnight stay. The room itself was clean and the bed was comfortable, however there were signs of wear and tear and if felt slightly dated. The staff was friendly at check in.
Unfortunately it wasnt the greatest stay. The staff was friendly and accommodating but the elevator on our floor didnt work, our room didnt have a phone and it was poorly lit in our room with no natural light because our window faced an underground parking lot. There was also a weird burn-like smell coming from the microwave. And finally, yhe shower had no liner so the water ended up all over the floor.
Positive: the location is close to the Airport. Staff is friendly and works hard Negative: The Breakfast bar was always empty-Both days, it too long to restock. The Oatmeal was awful! It was runny/no flavor. Frozen waffle/Pancake would be a good option. I killed a roach in the room (time to spray). Room not ready at 4:30pm, stains on floor
I loved the hotel and friendly staff. Was disappointed about the fact we werent able to use the pool, the vending machines on my floor were not there as advertised on the signs, ice machine not operating. It was advertised on my room reservation and feel it should have been told to me they werent available. I wasnt even made aware at check in. Other than that I plan on returning 100%. Planning my trip now actually.
This hotel is so poorly run, Marriott should be embarrassed to have their name attached to it. Original reservation was 5/30-6/4. My Brother passed away while we were traveling to NY. Upon arrival, I requested a 1 night extension to checkout on 6/5. I was told that was taken care of. Twice I requested fresh towels both times it was ignored. One morning, I requested that the room be made up, fresh linens, towels & trash emptied. Upon return, Nothing had been done! On 6/4 I had to to into NYC for a business meeting. On the way back, the hotel told my family that they had to leave. My wife explained that we had extended our reservation but they said that had not happened and they had no rooms so we had to go and we had nowhere else to stay. All this on top of burying my brother. I will Never stay in a Marriott property ever again.
I was very disappointed at my stay at the Springhill Suites this time. The air conditioner wasnt working. I have to wait to check-in for almost one hour. Breakfast was horrible. It was not a hot breakfast buffet as advertised. There is no milk for cereal, no salt, and pepper for the eggs, no waffle for the kids. They didnt even have clean towels. The elevator was musty. It was horrible. Your hotel was one of my familys favorite every time we went to NYC.

Decent hotel. Not much nearby. Dirty carpets in elevators. Stayed here when Ida went thru and power went out at 9pm and did not come back on. Surprised that staff did not check on guests or hand out flashlights. Emergency lights in hallway and stairwells only lasted a couple of hours. Serious safety issues that should be reviewed.
I’m tired to see and hear just complaints about mistakes of things that are not being done no one comes and see or give compliments of the good job that is being done. So now let me say it thank you all for all your hard work and all you do for us having everything ready clean prepare as always. Ruben you were Amazing plz keep up the good work - Sade thanks for following up with us. Everyone was outstanding.
One of the best customer service before arrival time I did receive a welcome email key was ready room was clean, Front desk staff called the room to ensure everything was ok I think that was a big plus very happy with my stay. I think the clerk name was Reuben he was good.
I stayed here in May 2021. I found the accommodation was very comfortable and services were on par with the price range/room rates. There are good amenities although some are restricted now due to Covid. There is obvious attention to cleanliness. There is plenty of parking and privacy. Ask for a room in the back.
I am a longtime loyal Marriott customer and travel frequently for both business and pleasure. I have never been disappointed with any of the Marriott brand hotels Ive stayed in, including those outside the U.S. This Springhill Suites failed to live up to Marriott standards in so many ways. Understaffed, dirty, loud, and stunk.
We dont recommend this property and will not be returning in the future. Our experience was disappointing from check in to having to switch rooms because of cleanliness. And even the room we ended up in wasnt all that clean and the fan didnt work in the bathroom. The one ray was the gentleman at the front that tried to rectify the situation by getting us a new room.
Love this hotel,Jen was incredible she was very helpful always happy same with the breakfast staff. Akira And Ruben were great there was a few items missing in my room when i arrived but not even 5 minutes later a man showed up with the items that were a missing a little more. Thank You all
Positive: The room was quiet and staff were friendly and accommodating. The bed was also extremely comfortable. Negative: There was a lack of towels in the room upon arrival, the hand towel was stained upon arrival & there were large brown stains on the carpet in our room.
I stayed here on December 5th, and was charged for the night. The next night, when I was not there, I was charged again.I have not been able to reach anyone to fix this problem. I left a message for the manager at the hotel with no call back. I also sent a message through the Bonvoy ap, with no reply either.Terrible customer service
This hotel would be okay for one night. We stayed four nights and I had wished I had upgraded. The room is tight and needs to be remodeled. Air conditioning was not working and had to be transfered to another room. The breakfast was not being served and no housekeeping due to covid. You could pick up a bag of breakfast. My one good experience was the girl at the front desk, unfortunately I do not know her name, but she did all she could to help us.
I would NOT recommend anyone staying at this hotel. It was definitely one of our worst stay at a hotel. The sink leak for the entire duration of our stay. Upon give the room a second cleaning we noticed there were another person’s hair and mole in the tub; when I told the manager all he did was take the information with no apology. He didn’t suggest moving us to another room. In addition, there was the previous guest bed linens on the counter by the microwave.
Stayed during remodel( lobby). I wish I knew before I booked, but the rooms were completed and looked pretty good. The bed was comfortable. The floor plan was somewhat quirky with the TV split between the bedroom and the living room. Why not buy two televisions and place them accordingly. Staff was good. I recommend.
The disappointment began when I couldnt turn the room lamp on to get more light in the room... it didnt work. At the same time, the room was muggy and did not feel comfortable... The air conditioner was not working properly. the hallway felt better than my room. Then, As I laid in the bed, insects crawled on me... I tried to call the front desk... TWICE... and no one picked up. So, I was given a room and left to my devices to cope with the conditions, which I paid not to have... If this is how they treat their guests, Id rather spend my money somewhere else.
Disappointed with “to go breakfast”. Food contains artificial ingredients and a frozen Jimmy Dean sandwich is so cheap and unhealthy. Not happy at all with this and by now there should be fresh options.Rooms are decent and mostly clean. So far most the staff members have been friendly and helpful, which is probably the only good part about this experience.
The rooms are clean and the bed was very comfortable. The problem was the first night we got there we had to stay in a double room when our reservation was for a king. Then, the next day, the man at the desk was rude and acted like it was our fault that he didnt have a new room ready right then. But it was unnecessary drama because he got us a room in a couple of minutes. Then when I got the bill for our stay, it was $30 more than what I booked it for originally. When I tried to ask for help, the woman at the desk lied and said it was just the security deposit and that it will go back on my card. Well that wasnt true I was charged the full amount. Never coming back here

I liked staying in your Springhill suites. Very comfortable and clean. I just wish breakfast was available for gluten free and dairy free foods. Coffee and tea and juice should be available as well. Even if staff prepares it and gives to people when they come to the lobby. Coffeemaker in room makes small amounts.
The room was disgusting. We found sticky stains on the table, a full cookie by the bed and smushed bugs on the window curtain. It took 2 hours to get sheets on our sofa bed for our 3 and 5 year old after calling down 3 times to ask about it. It was 9:30PM and we needed to get them to bed and even explained that to the desk person. The “complimentary breakfast” consisted of muffins, yogurt, apples and coffee. I’ve stayed at other hotels during covid that had “grab and go” for safety reasons that offered all of those things as well as individually wrapped hard boiled eggs, bagels, oatmeal, toast, and put out fixings to go with it (ie peanut butter, cream cheese, jelly etc)The only redeeming thing about the stay was Jen, the morning front desk person. She was super friendly and good to our kids.
We were rudely told we could not check-in early. Magically all the rooms people were waiting for were going to be ready at precisely 3 oclock. We missed our nephews wedding ceremony. The room reeked of pot. We were never asked for a breakfast order so had to go to a local diner. Extremely poorly managed hotel.
The shower was not completely clean, the shower curtain was torn, the wifi wasnt working, the staff was and is almost completely unresponsive, the breakfast was terrible. After the year the industry has had, one would think that any hotel would be doing its best to get guests back. Not this place.
Pleasant people, poor facilities. The biggest negative was the broken AC. The maintenance guy was overworked, but was pleasant and apologetic when he finally came to reset the AC. Instead of warm air, it at least blew cool air afterward, but the room stayed very warm all night. When housekeeping failed to bring sheets for the sofa bed, the front desk clerk brought the sheets herself. She was also pleasant and apologetic, and offered a discount on the room because of the AC. Minor issues: weak shower pressure, poor lighting in the room, broken fan in the bathroom, stains on the sofa. Standard disappointing bagged breakfast, including Jimmy Dean sandwiches and a sugary bread product.
This hotel was not what we had envisioned. As a loyal Marriott member as well as card holder, we were very disappointed. The website should reflect all amenities that are not available. Our first room, the TV wasnt working and neither was the thermostat, that had wires hanging out of it. The hotel is old and in disrepair. If I would have known, we would not have stayed at this hotel.
This hotel was an absolute dump! let me count the ways:1) shower sprayed water over the entire bathroom, over the shower rod and got the whole bathroom soaked. tons of hair in the shower too... and not mine!2) continental breakfast was about 8 prepackaged muffins loaded with sugar and a coffee machine that did not work3) I bought a diet pepsi, it tasted horrible, and I looked and it had a Super Bowl LIV sticker... this was the game played in Feb of 2019! This soda was like 3 years old!
Positive: Nothing . One of if not the worst hotel I have stay in. For a examples the water was hot on both handles. Same in the shower. You turn on the cold hot would come out. Turn on the hot and hot water would come out. Room was not clean after staying. Negative: noting. No clean towels, no clean sheets
The condition of the room was questionable. Fractured sink, toilet kept running water. We called, but no-one cared to come and fix it. The breakfast was included in the stay, but there was nothing available besides few muffins, some dry snacks, and coffee. Because of Covid we have been yelled from behind the counter. We had to go to near by Dunkins. So why you advertise breakfast? Really, I wished i picked different hotel. Not worth the money.
The was the worst hotel that I’ve stayed at. I travel every week (even during COVID) and this is by far the worst hotel that I’ve stayed at. The ice machine on the ground floor was broken. The first room I was given hadn’t even been cleaned (the comforter was laying on the couch and the bed was unmade). The second room I found food in the refrigerator that had been left by the previous guest. The gym didn’t have any weights less than 45 lbs., there was something sticky on the treadmill handles, there weren’t any paper towels or cleaning supplies and the worst part was it was about 85 degrees even though the thermostat was set to 50 and on cool. I definitely wouldn’t stay here again.
The hotel is a basic average hotel nothing spectacular, the room i stayed in wasn’t very clean fruit punch stains in carpet. Crumbs on counter which shows it wasn’t wiped. Underground parking lot dimly lit and dirty wouldn’t leave my car underground. Even though there’s a no smoking policy i always smell cannabis in the hallways, if i smell it I’m sure staff smells it. I actually smelled it through the vent in the bathroom not sure if the venting system is connected.6am in the morning front desk is a ghost town no staff at front desk. But they are friendly checking in.
My wife and I checked into the Hotel to celebrate my birthday. I checked into my room and I heard the toilet running water and it was veryloud.I called the front desk and they said they would send someone to fix it in five minutes,no one ever came till after an hour. The gentleman that came tried to fix it but it continued to malfunction throughout the night.I went to the front desk and told the lady that Ive been waiting for someone to come and check on the running toilet and she told me they were pretty business, I remained calm but told her this was unacceptable and to cancel my reservation for the following nights. I have no plans to stay at Springhill Suites Tarrytown again the service was very poor.
This is one of my favorite places to stay. Mostly for the breakfast buffet they provide. NOW due to COVID the Breakfast buffet is closed. They still provide free breakfast but its limited. At check in they give you a breakfast sheet to fill out & return for next morning.Ice Machines on 1-5 floors are out of order, only one working is on the 6 th floor. The room i stood in was on the 2nd floor across from pool (which is closed but was being cleaned) maybe to open soon. Call or check website for updates. The room for the most part was clean. The window shade had a few small dead bugs on it and the light by the window side of bed was out. I notified staff but they never came to fix. I would stay again but when the Hotel is fully opened.
Friendly staff and room was clean! Restaurant or bar not open. Free breakfast was not great. Hardly any fruit (only apples) and no bacon. Bathrooms need to be updated. Had a get tv remote from front desk. Not enough towels or sheets for the sofa bed but, they will being upon request. For the $ I expected it to be a little better.
Stayed here one night with my wife. Clean, comfortable room but the stay was rough around the edges due to:1. No front desk attendant when we arrived at 7PM. We had to wait 10+ minutes for anyone to show up and check us in.2. Little, but important issues: -The suite included a coffee/tea service...but NO CUPS to make coffee/tea.-The main floor with exit to street was the 3rd Floor but there were no signs about this in the elevator. So several times, we mistakenly went to the 1st Floor when we wanted to exit the building.Overall, the stay was fine...but absolutely nothing about this property that would make me go out of my way to stay there again!
Worst hotel experience in 20 yrs. Room was in massive disrepair, neglected for quite some time. Tile coming up, sub floor soft, thought I would fall through the bathroom. Wall paper pealing, lamp shade busted to pieces and turned around to hide.... Ive stayed in better Motel 6s! Asst Manager and Manager both rude, and wouldnt address items when brought up.
I know covid has been difficult for many businesses. Our stay was not great. It got better but after persistent complaints concerning the basic and simplest of things. Towels, wastepaper baskets and a non working TV. I inderstand they must be short staffed, however they didnt seem to be full to capacity. The best thing was the rate they gave us, since my mom was a senior citizen and needed assistance.
I have stayed at this hotel a few times in the past and it was great. I know COVID has changed things but very disappointing stay. No water bottles the whole time we stayed (4 nights) - none in the little store area- not restocked, ice machine broken, no coffee available (Covid was the reason but I’ve been to many other places that still have self serve coffee). No vending machine. Two towels for a family of 4. Staff was hardly seen- always in back office. Sad but I will not be staying here again .
Wires were sticking out of the AC unit. There were dips in the floor. We had 4 people staying in the room - we only got 1 towel. When we asked for sheets we were told that they were in the closet - we told the front desk they weren’t there. After asking 4 more times someone THREW a blanket into our room. The TV was broken. Though we filled out the sheets for breakfast we had to go down and ask for it the next morning - they sent us back up to our room saying they would have to make it. We weren’t given a choice of cereal the breakfast was disgusting!! The website didn’t say anything about the pool being closed.
We had a great stay and we wished we stayed longer. Other than little issue with the heating in the room and the shower water temperature that was very cold, our stay was great. Bed was very very comfortable. Useful microwave and mini fridge with also a sink. Love the look of the room it was modern and nice and clean. The work space was great with outlet for charging laptop . Good TV channel choices. The lobby was great and welcoming . Breakfast in the morning had lot of options and it was fresh and very good . Amazing stay and would stay again!
Hotels want us to get back to traveling more now that COVID restrictions are lifting. That won’t be the case if hotels don’t go back to cleaning rooms everyday and offering the same amenities they did pre Covid. If not, why bother, stay home where I know things are cleaned etc I checked into this hotel and there was hair all over the shower walls. When I complained to mgr. He assured me the entire room would be cleaned. Came back that night and it wasn’t even touched. The night mgr (Jen) switched me to another room. Overall this hotel needs to be renovated ASAP. It is not up to par with other SHS locations I’ve stayed. There were poorly repaired cracks and holes in my ceiling. There was a huge dip or divot in the floor. The underground garage looks like something from a horror movie. Marriott needs to authorize a entire renovation and update. Not just surface stuff.
We asked for extra sheets and they never came. The halls and especially the stairs smelled of mold. The pool was under construction (yet they advertise a pool). Ice machine was out of service on every level except one. Overall, it felt like a big rip off to be charged for stay.
Hand rag had someone’s pubic hair in it, the bath towel was hard stiff and more like a kids towel, the bathtub had so many broken large tiles, the tub had residual dirt. No supplies in the room we called the front desk and was told they are given upon request.. really cups?? We called for them within 5 minutes of us being there we never received them when we asked ast checkout what happened to the cups the pregnant lady said we were understaffed so sorry. I have stayed here 3 times this month alone and by far this was the worst experience and I will take my money elsewhere and you should also. How nasty does a place have to be to give you a white hand rag with pubic hair embedded into it. DISGUSTING!
This hotel smells like marijuana. While sleeping in the bed a bug bit me on the neck, also I called room service for towels and they told me they couldnt give me any because they were washing the towels, I have never heard of such a thing, they also refused to bring towels to my room they told me when the towels were done washing I had to go and retrieve them myself. I paid to be at the hotel for 3 days and ended up leaving on the 2nd day. The room I was given didnt have a phone & the lock was broken. There was a light bulb out in the room and the curtain was ripped. I had to ask for a different room. Lastly the comforter was dirty and ripped. Will not be staying here again.
I had a great day with the family we came for wedding I was very surprised with the size of the room it was very clean also the front desk crew member was very friendly and helpful he went above and beyond for us I wish I can remember his name but thank you to all of you for your hospitality keep up the good work
The pool wasn’t in working condition and this was One of the main reasons I chose it but they did not mention at reserving that it was temporarily closed . Hotel was not exactly looking clean and I felt like I had to wipe all the surfaces in the room first . The bagged breakfast had an Orange thst was almost rotten we had to throw it out. Then I got charged higher rates for 2 of my 3 nights than expected .
On January 2, on route from my daughter’s home in Virginia to Kennebunk, my wife and I decided to break up the trip and spend one night at Marriotts Spring Hill Suites Hotel in Tarrytown, NY. Our stay was fine with no complaints, and we checked out at about 11 am on Jan. 3.Upon our return home, however, we looked at the hotel’s charges on our credit card, and noticed that, not only did Marriott charge us for two nights, but they added a $250 fee for smoking in the room. The only problem is, my wife and I don’t smoke. In fact, had we checked into a room that even smelled of cigarette smoke, we would have requested another room immediately.I then contacted by phone and email the hotel’s manager and Marriotts customer service department. Rather than refund the money, they both insisted they had photos of the room after our departure proving we had been smoking.Obviously, something got confused, and I highly doubt the hotel thoroughly researched the matter. Did someone move into the room after we left? Did someone get the room number confused? Was the hotel offering temporary space to individuals made homeless by COVID 19 or for other reasons? To this day, the hotel considers us to be liars and refuses to issue a refund.Needless to stay, were done with Marriott.
Absolutely outstanding- it was a short vacation one night only but I will definitely come back everyone was great- very good customer service . The manager he was excellent he checked us in and checked us out: Marriott needs to know that he’s doing a excellent job everyone is. Thank You for your hospitality
One of the worst Marriott properties we have stayed at. No water or coffee cups in the room and only one regular and one decaf. I secured another regular from the desk clerk and asked for hot and cold cups. She told me they were out of hot cups for coffee or tea. There were no tissues or waste baskets in the room. The bedroom had insufficient lighting. The time on the alarm clock was off an hour. The bed sheets were stained.
If you left anything behind by mistake they wont return it to you even if they found it.Ill preface by saying I had been happy with Marriott so far as I business travel a lot (with Residence Inn and Courtyard) and am a platinum elite member so this is not a light complaint.Jul 13 I stayed here and made the mistake of leaving a set of keys in my room which had a Tile tracking device on it. I called the hotel after I got home to Virginia to confirm they found it. I was relieved. Hard parts over, right? I followed their instructions, paid for and emailed them a Fedex mailing label for my home address, and scheduled a pickup for them. Then it was a week of calling and emailing could you please ship my keys until I finally received notification from Fedex that my shipment was on its way, only to receive an empty, unsealed envelope. I looked on my phone and my tile says its still in Tarrytown. To this day. I called the hotel and they blamed Fedex and their tone was dismissive and impatient. I will file a claim but whatever happened between them and FedEx, the level of delay and neglect and dismissal up to that point is unacceptable from Marriott.Unless I go to Tarrytown again and walk around aimlessly ringing my tile, now I have to replace the tile, all my keys including a car key which will cost 250-300 dollars from the dealer, pay a locksmith to saw off a u lock from my bike because the bike key is lost and get a new bike lock, among others. 20 days after the hotel found my keys, theyre eventually lost. It was immensely frustrating to watch something this straightforward be botched when Ive done my part.
I only stayed one night and was impressed with the size of my room and the comfort of my bed. The complimentary breakfast was outstanding. Loved having the use of a waffle maker for fresh hot waffles. The room had a sofa bed in addition to the bed. When I opened it up I could see it didnt get the same attention to cleanliness as the rest of the room. Note to housekeeping: open the sofabed and give it a good vacuuming.
Desk service person was arrogant and advised me she wasnt able to fulfil my accommodations of 1 of my 2rooms reserved @hotel (double beds n room) disrespectfully she said theres nothin she can do instead o offering upgrade or seeking other accommodations. No alternatives sought.Disappointed
I am extremely disappointed in my stay at the Tarrytown Springhill Suites. Several of my colleagues and I chose to stay here on a work trip. Check in was OK, however amenities were not explained and the $20 fee was not mentioned. When I got to my room and stepped into the shower I realized there was no shampoo. I called the front desk, however the in room phone did not work and I had to use my cell. The receptionist said she would have someone bring it right away. 30 minutes later I called again. The receptionist apologized and 5 minutes later personally brought me shampoo and an extra towel (which was very nice). After my shower, I stepped out and realized the entire floor was soaking wet. All my remaining towels were used to soak up this mess. After that I ordered some food and put the left overs in the fridge. The next day, excited for my $30+ meal of leftovers, I went to the fridge. The fridge was HOT, causing my food to be inedible. I went down to the front desk and spoke to the assistant manager. He condescendingly told me that I should have called the night before to let him know it wasnt working (why would I assume that it was not?). He also said there was a button in the back of the fridge that all Marriott guests need to turn on before using their fridge to save power. Feeling stupid, I recommended a sign for future guests. The manager told me he would add me to the points system and give me some points in there to make up for the mistake. I provided him with my email, however, I never received anything. I asked my coworkers if they had similar issues, but they all had working fridges without pressing a button. My fridge also did not feature a button. I am incredibly disappointed with my stay.
Room was fine and rate was a good deal But, common areas are dirty. Hallways and elevators need to be cleaned more. Breakfast (grab and go) was a mini muffin, juice box and granola bar :( no cups in room for coffee and something is definitely wrong with pool. Will pick somewhere else next time
Every thing about our stay here was perfect! The rooms were spacious, beautiful, comfortable and very clean. The breakfast was wonderful -- fresh fruit, waffles, eggs and bacon and really good coffee 24/7 with infused water and cookies too! WE occupied 3 rooms for 3 nights and had ages 6 weeks to senior and everyone was extremely happy here. The staff is wonderful and goes out of their way to please. Thank you for a great Thanksgiving experience. I have stayed in a lot of hotels and this one is a gem.
Hotel pricing was good for the weekend chosen and the comparisons that were available. The suite was a bit on the smaller side and felt cluster. In such spacing higher ceilings might have made that feeling better. Maybe it was the room I was in. Attention to details is needed such as the bath tub having no blemishes and the appliances that are available being clean. Check in was great as there was still someone there at 2am. At 2am I expected to have a clean nice room to warm up my late meal and a clean tub to soak off the day.
For starters i was sent a confirmation for a 12pm check in and when i arrived i was told no room was available til 3pm. The staff was not friendly... The place looks much bigger in the pictures. The room was small but clean. There was only a Half a roll of toilet paper for 2 people no extra towels and the little bathtub took forever to drain. There was no Jacuzzi the Hot Tub was out of order and the little pool was way too cold and the strong smell of chlorine made it hard to breathe. It was not worth the money and i would not recommend nor return there. Next morning we were given our free breakfast lol...
Front desk staff were very helpful and friendly and check-in was quite simple.I wasnt overly impressed with the fitness center. The machines worked, but seemed like they were due for some much needed maintenance.i had some issues with the room. Mainly, there were some brown stains on the sheets of the bed. Very disappointed with that. The overall room didnt feel too clean after discovering that. The free breakfast was fine. About what youd expect. Eggs, one meat, fruit, waffles and some continental items. About average. All in all, my experience at this hotel was average. I chose this hotel because of the Marriott name, but it didnt feel like other Marriotts Ive stayed at.
Although the rooms could use a little updating, the overall experience was fantastic. The entire front desk staff throughout my stay were all very friendly and helpful. They have a shuttle bus which is great. Used it twice to go into Tarrytown . Both drivers were friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The breakfast staff were also great. The breakfasts could use a little sprucing up with a little more variety but all in all the food was prepared well. Great experience over all A+!!!!
The staff were very attentive and polite. Alex is a great assistant and shuttle chauffeur.Charlotte at the front desk is very professional, efficient and a pleasure to speak with regarding any issues you may have. All of the staff including the breakfast staff were excellent.I would only recommend that the maintenance staff learn how the thermostats work in the rooms.
My wife and I were passing through the area on our way from PA to New England, and needed a place to stay near my sister in the area. Wed already stayed at another hotel on our trip and it was like an oasis to find this one, in Tarrytown, NY! It had everything we needed and more. The comparison in terms of the facility (and everything) with the previous hotel was - well it was no comparison - this was a 10 and the other a 3 or 4 (but if you can believe it we actually paid more at the other one)!We left the next day feeling refreshed and revived - - ready to take on the rest of our travels (which have been a bit stressful). My only warning is that - because this hotel is SO good - breakfast had quite a few folks dining, so just be ready to be patient while waiting for the waffle-maker, etc. (The suite is so private you dont even know the hotel may be full.) The staff were great at staying on top of things and the experience was still quite pleasant. You wont be lonely! There was a lot of lively conversation and laughter - people seemed to all be enjoying themselves. (The selection of foods available is quite good, too!)I would super-highly recommend the SpringHill Suites Tarrytown to anyone, on any type of trip. It is excellent for relaxation and also productivity. Youll be ready to meet the day when you leave this place.
THIS HOTEL IS HORRIBLE!! If ZERO STARS WAS AN OPTION!!The guest services is horrible on a Saturday night, lazy and nonchalant. The phone in the room and the tv was not working, so with all the issues that we had we had to keep going downstairs repeatedly, approximately 5 times. The ice machine on the 2nd floor was out you had to go to the 6th floor. There is no sign to tell you that so there goes another trip to the front desk When I arrived on the 6th floor it smelt like a cesspool as they had water collecting there in buckets. The only good thing was the maintenance guy that helped to change the tv out he was very polite and the beds were ok. The grab and go breakfast consisted of 1 tiny motts apple juice, a fruit snack, a blueberry muffin and a bar. PURE SUGAR no options for gluten free, dairy, egg free, no cereals nothing, my child has those allergies so no breakfast option there! The indoor pool was not heated and it was 40 something degrees outside. No towels were in the room, another trip to the front desk, they had nothing to sweeten your coffee, no sugar, no creamer nothing! They took the refrigerators out of the room so imagine how that was such an inconvenience when you have 3 young children all under 4. One plus is a microwave was there. The desk they had in the room for working purposes had a BIG OLD smear it needs to be removed it looks like something from a junk yard. I did not see anything about any extra cleaning measures during covid like other hotels such as the lysol certified signage! JUST HORRIBLE>staying here was definitely a halloween experience! Save yourself the headache!
I would recommend this hotel. It was very clean when I arrived. There was always someone at the front desk. I stayed there for 4 days and room service does not come in the room but you can go to the front desk to get clean towels. The room was very clean and also very and spacious.
The room was comfortable, but my king room was apparently not guaranteed, which was disappointing, especially as the room had double beds (not even queens). The shower was powerful and temperature excellent. The included breakfast was hardy and included both continental and hot options. The train shuttle was a great service and the reason we picked this hotel over others we have stayed with in the past. We did not use other amenities.
The staff was very good to me but the fourth floor was under construction and the smell was bad.My first room had a beeping alarm so I was moved to another room. This room was not fully equipped. The front desk did take care of my immediate needs. This is a suites hotel in that it has a separated bed and couch area.It does not have a full kitchenette like other suites. It does have a microwave, fridge and mini coffemaker and sink but no dishes utensils or cookware. It was very clean had dish tv and HBO and complimentary breakfast. The food was ok.I just needed an overnight stay and I wanted to have my own food with me so it was fine.
This is an excellent place to stay, the staff are very friendly and will address your needs/concerns in a timely manner. the rooms very clean. the only issue that Ive had both times Ive stayed at this hotel was that there were no trash bags in any of the trash cans. I would highly recommend this hotel if your staying in this area for a business trip or just a get away.
Staff is competent and friendly, but working with a property in poor condition. Shower had a hole in the wall. Sink was cracked. Bathroom door did not have a latch so could not stay closed. A/C was all or nothing - extremely cold or shut off. Overall property in poor condition.
It was very poor ! For one, I traveled with multiple friends. During our stay, we all encountered bed bugs in our rooms. We complained more than once. Nothing was done until the third day, when they finally found available rooms for us to move into. I saw a mouse in the hallway. For breakfast they gave us one granola bar each, and a bottle of water. I highly do NOT RECOMMEND this stay here. I was very upset with the rate of cleanliness here for the simple fact that I couldn’t sleep with out scratching my skin due to the bed bug bites. I will definitely be calling corporate and discussing this matter to be fixed ASAP !
Comfortable, clean, convenient. Friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast Buffet included in the price. When I asked for change to tip the maid, I was asked how our room was.I found out room freshener is sprayed during room service and requested they not. Important information for those of us who are fragrance sensitive.
Average hotel about 5 minutes away to downtown Tarrytown. Breakfast is average, but there is a little bit of everything for everyone. Fruits, bagels, eggs, waffles, bacon, croissants, etc.I used the hot tub once and I didnt use it again. It was dirty. Gym wa small, but looked good and updated. Free parking on 2nd and 3rd floor (main entrance). Checking was fast and some information was provided. Great mattress, ok pillows.Overall. great stay if it wasnt for one of the staff in the kitchen that scolded me in front of everyone for taking some tea.Hotel is 30 minutes away to Manhattan, great alternative to paying a more expensive hotel. However, I wouldnt stay there again.
The staff was nice and the breakfast was free and decent. My room has a toilet that ran almost continuously, and did not cool well. The staff was informed, but nothing came of it during my stay. The hotel did seem full due to a wedding and the craft show going on in town.
We stayed at this hotel for 9 days in December 2016 and it was one of the best hotel stay we have had and definitely worth the cost. The hot breakfast was absolutely delicious and there was a great variety of different choices every morning which included fresh fruit. The staff including the front desk, restaurant workers and cleaners were excellent. The rooms are huge and were well equipped and kept very clean. The amenities were good too, the hot tub and pool area as well as the gym. We would definitely stay here when visiting New York again.
Ive been a Marriott member for ages and I have to say, this particular stay was probably my most disappointing (service wise) stay to date. My sister-in-law requested multiple times for extra shampoo and conditioner for her and my wife to use, and every single time, they said theyll send it up. They never did. The entire hallway stunk of marijuana throughout the entire stay, and when reported, nobody went to check it out, despite them claiming to take a look immediately, and also the entire hotel being a no-smoking one? Pretty sure it was our neighbors, but the staff didnt care. Im sad to say, but this particular one fails to meet my typical expectations that Ive gotten used to from all my other stays with Marriott. In regards to the room though, the beds were clean, and the overall state of the room was in decent shape. The thermostat to control the HVAC was finicky at best, so it was either always on, or off. The temp control seemed to be non-existent so we were constantly trying to get the room to the proper temperature. Besides that, the room itself wasnt terrible.
This spot is renovating they should put it on the website to let customers know. Their ice tray to put the ice was filled with mold, even when I washed it with soap and sanitized it still had the mold , I have pictures, the coffee machine was so filthy inside I wonder how they expect people to put hot water in that dirty machine. they should clean their facilities especially in this time.
I love to stay at this location whenever Im looking for a little quiet time. The rooms are always clean and neat and I love the fact that they are not cramped spaces like when you stay in the city. There is a nice sized indoor pool and the breakfast always has a good amount of options especially for kids. The staff always seems to be very friendly and helpful. Keep up the great work!
Front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. Theres a business center with 2 computers and a free printer thats very easily accessible. The breakfast has everything from eggs to waffles to pastries. Room was very clean and the cleaning staff did a great job. Only complaint I had at all was that the fold out couch in our room was positioned in such a way that using it blocked access between the beds & bathroom and the kitchen area & front door. Aside from that inconvenience, great overall experience. I visited 12/28-30/2017
Ive stayed here before and the quality is still excellent. Check-in was quick and easy. Staff was friendly and helpful. After several nights of just so-so hotels, it was nice to stay in one where you felt like you didnt need anything! I enjoy the comfort and knowledge that staying at this hotel brings. No surprises, just a good nights rest and a great breakfast! Thanks!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the SpringHill Suites Tarrytown location. The hotel staff were friendly & extremely helpful. I stayed 3 nights & looked forward to the complimentary breakfast every morning. They also had fruit infused water that was a hit with all of the guests. Im a pretty athletic individual & was appreciative of the up to date fitness facility. My suite was great & spacious. I will definitely stay here again the next time Im in the area.
Very nice 👍 well appointed, clean and quiet. The beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was very good. My only complaint they need to upgrade their coffee not good. Otherwise the hotel is very nice I would highly 😊 recommend 👌.The staff was very accommodating to our requests and helpful and professional.
Staff is top notch! Willing to go above and beyond to keep guests happy and comfortable while away from home.During our visit the pool was closed for repair and in the evening the kids needed an outlet for their energy. They arranged a shuttle and made arrangements for the kids to swim at a neighboring hotel. Rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable...like sleeping on a cloud! Breakfast was great! Something for everyone! Will definitely stay with yall again:)
Service was horrible. Fan didnt work in room. Elevator felt like it would fall apart. There was no water or anything that was considered complimentary available. My pregnant wife wanted water (which was supposed to be in the room) and I went to the front desk and there was a woman texting on her phone who seemed annoyed by my presence. I asked for water because there was none in our room and she said they were all out and they were under renovation. In the morning I asked a diffrent worker and we got us 2 bottles. The woman the night before was lazy and un professional. Do not stay here go anywhere else.
The Springhill Suites in Tarrytown was a great place to stay. The friendly front desk staff made our check in and out very hassle free. Our room was spacious with lots of amenities. We loved the water/tea/coffee set up in the lobby. For the price that we paid to stay at the Springhill Suites we felt that it offered many great things. We have stayed at other hotels which compared to Springhill felt like the rooms were empty. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is staying in the area. The breakfast is also fabulous and delicious with lots to offer.
After arriving after 10 pm, check in was quick. Bartender was awesome, could see we needed a drink, stayed open late, and made a perfect whiskey sour. Bed was comfortable, room was clean. Breakfast was not too bad, but the gentleman working the breakfast area was so full of life, greeted everyone with a smile. He made my day! Coffee was delicious.
Dirty and rusted bathroom tub, stained couch, loud noises from highway. And that’s just the room. No bottled water in room or available in lobby. So bring your own supplies if you have to stay here. We walked out the same night. Thankfully reception was understanding once we showed her pictures of the state of the room.
Springhill suites in Tarrytown far exceeded my initial expectations the staff was professional, courteous and friendly. The hotel followed the wonderful tradition of all Marriotts I have stayed at and that helped to make my stay very comfortable. The room was stylish and clean. It was well-maintained throughout my stay.I would definitely recommend Springhill suites at Tarrytown to my friends and family.
Very comfortable room with a separate sitting area and kitchenette. The room was clean, bright and fresh and the complimentary wi-fi was fast and trouble-free. The breakfast buffet was delicious with many choices. The 24/7 food market is VERY convenient for late-night noshers and the selection was amazing! There was a transition going on while we were there so there were no in-house dining options, but the bartender had many menus from local places and we ordered take-out which was delivered quickly and was very delicious. The staff is courteous and friendly and check-in was a breeze. The bar is really nice with a lovely fireplace and the bartender was entertaining and made great drinks. Overall its a great place to stay, very clean throughout and highly recommended! Only a very short drive to Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow and surrounding towns. We had a great weekend, thanks to all!!!
Room was decent enough, for the price I was paying. The front desk staff were nice as well. I had really been looking forward to getting a swim in before the wedding I was attending, but that didnt happen. The whole pool area smelled so strongly of chlorine it hurt my lungs to breathe the air in for a couple of seconds. When I complained about it, they responded that they had contracted pool services out to another company, and that it is all digitally controlled. The situation seemed pretty *out of control* to me, though.
We received OUTSTANDING customer service from Jason at the front desk. My husband is here on business and I came along to relax. I was looking forward to spending some time in the spa in the pool area. It was very disappointed to find it closed indefinitely. I called the front desk and explained that I had hoped to spend the day using the spa and Jason politely explained that it was beyond their control it was a county regulation regarding handicap accessibility. He sweetly upgraded us to a jacuzzi suite so that I could still get my relaxation in, without ever having to leave my room.Initially, I was a little nervous about staying here after reading some poor reviews about customer service. Im so thankful that we took the chance! I am very pleased to say that we have had an excellent experience so far. Both rooms that we stayed in were spacious and inviting. The breakfast is great also. Thank you, Jason, for making my day! :-)
Worst experience with Marriott. Toilet leaked and made noise until tank was full each time it was flushed. Management was informed and said they could not move us since they were full. They said they would give us 50% off of stay and send an engineer the next day. Neither of that happened. The place was just not up to Marriott standards. There was a lack of care throughout. Coaches had obvious stains, beds were old, sunken in and uncomfortable, breakfast eggs were just not good. Very disappointed with this place. Would not come back here or recommend at all.
The most important thing to me was that the hotel was clean! All staff was friendly and inviting. Really great atmosphere. Really nice rooms! Did I mention it was clean! Cant wait to go back. Great for a weekend get away! Oh yeah really good complimentary breakfast! Thanks for our stay!
I have been traveling for work for a while and I want to say that the staff at this hotel were amazing. No matter how the day was going for me they always could make me smile when I walked into the hotel lobby. The housekeeping service was great as well, they always did a great job cleaning my hotel. They keep the facilities up and the hotel is always clean. If you have business around Tarrytown this hotel is a great pick. Even though there is no restaurant at the hotel there is a free shuttle to take you anywhere within a 4 mile radius and there are some good eats in the area, just steer clear from NY Firehouse Grille!! The train station is just a free shuttle away as well so it was really convenient to go into the city. There were a few things I wished the hotel had like a kitchen, bigger refrigerator and a restaurant on grounds but what they didnt have in amenities they definitely made up for it in service. I am so appreciative to the staff at the SpringHill Suites because I was here for almost a month and they really contributing to making my stay enjoyable.
I expected so much more from this place. Our first room was so full of BLACK MOLD in the bathroom that we demanded to be moved. Second room was better, but still had one corner in the bathroom full of mold. That room also only had one bath towel in it, and we were only given more after multiple calls and me finally going down to the front desk myself (this all took over an hour.) My husband was forced to dry off with hand towels and I missed breakfast because of how long it took to get the towels delivered. After all this, they throw a half hearted apology and a couple thousand points at us, hoping it would make everything better. We will never stay here again and definitely do not recommend.
The physical facility is quite nice and well-maintained, so this could be a really good hotel. But there are some details that fall seriously short. Useless in-room wifi repeatedly failed to connect and when it did, kept dropping connection. This was a huge problem. The suite was not well laid out, so that the TV was not in a comfortable position for viewing from either the sofa or the bed. The Bed was so soft it gave my wife and me backaches all next day. Finally, while I was not expecting a lot from the breakfast buffet, I do expect good quality basics like decent scrambled eggs - but they were from powder and terrible. And good coffee, but when I see the attendant decanting regular coffee (which was not too good to start with) into the decaf urn - it undermines my confidence in the food services operation. But for a clean, well-situated safe place to sleep, it has potential if they get better beds, rebuild their wifi network, and take care of some details.
I stayed for 1 night. This is a wonderful hotel. The bed was comfortable, the sofa area was spacious, and the blackout curtains were great! The bathroom was a bit dirty with rust and stains but overall it was a great stay. The breakfast options in the morning was muffins, oatmeal, and cereal bars. I didnt get to use the pool but it looked clean.
When I arrived, the clerk at the front desk did not even greet me and was rude. When I got up to my room, there was trash outside my door as well as a large bag of dirty linens. The room did not have any cups for the coffee that was provided. There was only decaf coffee and only one packet of sugar/creamer. No one at the desk spoke to me any time I passed through.
The hotel staff was efficient and friendly, suite was large and had full amenities including fridge and microwave, and had lots of room to move around, store luggage, and entertain without having to sit on the beds.Location is close to the highway and an easy drive to all the fun tourist attractions.Breakfast had lots of selection.I’d stay here again.

2022-07-04I highly recommend NEVER get a sofa bed from here EVER. My room was a 1 King bed with a sofa bed. The King size bed was comfortable and looked to be made up neatly, however, the sofa bed was a different story. The sofa wasnt clean at all, there was still residue of whatever it was that was left on the couch. When we pulled out the sofa bed, the mattress was completely dirty. It looked like old stains from years ago left on the bed. Brown rings everywhere. I had to ask front desk for extra sheets just so I could lay on it properly. The bathroom was not clean either. Still dirt left on the floor. The reviews that say the floors are dirty and torn are true. It looks as whatever is under the carpet may be making it peel (this is throughout the entire hotel, not just the room carpet ). The elevator carpet is probably the most torn. The towels in my bathroom were dirty also. The staff were very nice and the breakfast was good. The rooms were just not clean. I dont think it was worth the $350 for 2 nights.

2022-01-02Amazing stay at this hotel! I was here for New Years weekend. Check in was a breeze. Front desk was polite and gave great customer service. The room was very impressive, clean, and comfortable.A great plus is they have continental breakfast which is good! Many different varieties and you can save money instead of always eating out for breakfast.I would definitely recommend this hotel for at least short stay. No complaints here!

2022-04-04I have stayed here on many occasions - every time was enjoyable, clean and well kept. I am not sure what people are talking about, as I have never seen any of these issues. The only issue I can think of that comes to mind is the lack of an ice machine on every floor (only on 3rd floor, lobby area) - its a hassle to have to go downstairs. There is an area on each floor where the ice machine is *supposed* to be, but appears to have been removed (pandemic reasons?). Front desk staff is great; friendly and efficient.

2022-07-01Arrived with my family at midnight and we just wanted to sleep. Realized there was no sofa bed sheets or pillows. Walked back to front desk to request them. The gentlemen said they would be delivered to the room in 5 minutes. I was relieved because it had been a long road trip and the kids just wanted to sleep. Then, nothing shows up in 30 min. So I call the front desk and they say they will bring them in 10 minutes. I want another 25 min and nothing. So I walk back down, exhausted and a slightly apologetic employee tells me a they there was a mishap and the key to the laundry room went missing. They would be able to retrieve the key in another 10 min. Yeah, right. 30 minutes after that conversation and I’m sleeping on bath towels. Sweet dreams everyone!

2022-01-28Not a three star hotel! Hallway carpets were ready to be replaced and had debris on them. Beds need to be replaced. Pillows were worn out. Had towels enough for one person in spite of the room being a suit with double beds and booked for two people. Toilet is outdated. Tile in bath was cracked. Tub was old. Caulking looked like it was done by a 4 year old. Not at all worth the $200 they charged me. If youd like a nice place look elsewhere.

2022-03-28Positive: Location of hotel is great. Get a room on the first floor for best privacy. No issue with diversity here. All were welcome. Negative: Management is unresponsive and amateurish. Many patrons let their young kids run wild in the halls like its a playground.

2022-04-10What I expected and what I had received were very different. The room was nice and the set up was beautifully executed. The front desk lady was very helpful. When we arrived, they were experiencing WIFI issues. Which understandable created some check in delays and room confusion for the employees. My only complaint really was the room we received was not the cleanest. The floors needed to be vacuumed and surfaces (nightstand, desk, wall switches, phone) needed to be cleaned. The bedside table drawer was broken as well. The headboard had small holes in it.The bathroom had watermarks all down the walls and on the ceiling.Overall, I dont believe the room was worth $285.00. I dont plan on staying at another Marriott in the future.

2022-02-01Would not recommend this Hotel. The hotel rooms are very old and many things are broken or dont work. The rooms also have a funny smell. Its one of those hotels where you can tell nothing has been upgraded in a long time. You can also hear the highway from your room.

2022-01-27Overall it was an ok experience at SpringHill Suites. The room we had could sleep 6 with 2 beds and a pull out couch. There is a refrigerator and microwave along with a sink. The TV had Netflix and other streaming services installed. The breakfast was ok. There was eggs and a breakfast meat along with bagels, muffins, yogurt and juices. The housekeeping and front desk service is lacking. We called for the bedding for the pull out couch and it took almost 2 hours for someone to bring it up. We also had problems with the toilet being clogged. We were leaving for a few hours for a wake service and asked to have someone take care of it and it wasnt. We had to go back down and ask for a plunger so we could take care of it.The cell coverage is lacking too so youll want to use the wifi, but the wifi is tiered and in my experience the free option isnt very good.An interesting fact about the hotel is that there is no 13th room on any floor.

2022-02-21Good,nice day, more reasonably priced than some of the larger hotels. Finally reopened the bar and pool after Co-vid. Big plus Westcheater Mariott pool still closed. A bit more weathered and run down. Pot smoking on every floor. Still couldnt smell it in our room but in the hallway.Hugs mix up over late check out and staff became unfriendly and almost hostile. Too bad hotel was good.
