Awesome shop in Callicoon with a variety of home goods, candles, lotions, cheese, crackers, etc. Very reasonable prices! One of the owners spent a long time talking to us about the shop and the merchandise, you can tell they are passionate about this place. Highly recommended.

2022-05-13A very cute shop with lots of fun knick knacks. The owner was very friendly, and she made us feel welcome. Would love to see more vegan options!

2022-02-13You can always try something different here. I love the excitement of what is David going to make this week! Got a yummy lamminton cake this week yum. A hot latte after a 4 mile cold run is always a bonus too.

2021-10-04The foodstuff curation here is incredibly thoughtful. Everything they sell is from the best producers. I think people might assume that the store is a rip off, since it’s not cheap, however, it’s simply that the products they sell are top-notch. An example of this is their dumplings. A friend recommended that we try them - the store sources them from a restaurant in NYC. There was some sticker shock when I realized the $25 price, however, they were worth every penny and, with further research, the restaurant sells them frozen for takeaway at the exact same price. The store isn’t for everyone but, if you appreciate really good food and are willing to pay for the best quality, then don’t hesitate to shop here. I would assume the home goods selection is the same. We just haven’t had the need to purchase anything for our house as of late.

2020-08-22Absolutely love this place. The owner and his wife are very nice. They have a nice selection of cheeses, breads, crisps, and they now offer meats too. The store also has quaint household goods. Definitely pick up some coffee from here as its super delicious.

2018-08-07The owner, David was such a wonderful local to chat with. We spent close to an hour trying all of the delicious cheeses that he carries. His cheese prices are so reasonable! If youre in town, you cant miss this quaint home goods shop. They carry all sorts of interesting serving ware and linens.

2021-04-04Unfortunately our experience at Spruce Home Goods was not a good one. I followed the store on IG and was very excited to finally visit. I always support local businesses and had every intention of doing so here, however, I did not because of my familys experience. We were in the store for about six minutes today when someone who worked there, perhaps the shop owner requested to know if we needed help finding anything in an annoyed tone of voice. My husband stated we were still looking around, to which the store associate/perhaps owner stated, once again in an annoyed tone of voice, if youre not getting anything, we have a line of people waiting to get in. There was no line, there was no one waiting to get into the store. We didnt know what the issue was. We had our baby with us, we were looking at some of the plush toys and a book which we were contemplating purchasing. Our experience left us wondering if this shop does not want families supporting their business, or people of color,or perhaps both.

2020-12-15Spruce is essential to Callicoon. The imported food items, cheese, local meats and prepared food are delicious and well curated. Making the haul out to Beach Lake Bakery to offer fresh bread in-house is also a real treat. The home and kitchen products are smart, stylish, practical and affordable, too.

2019-04-17Best place in town. They have my goat cheese from France and fantastic home goods that you dont see anywhere and they are responsibly priced which is wonderful for our working class community. They even get their own baguettes from the farmers market bakery in the summer months so you can cheat and not wait in line at market just for one piece of bread. 😍

2020-11-25Sadly we did not have a good experience here. It was our first time visiting, we waited about 10 mins before being able to go inside then we were told to hurry when we finally were allowed to enter. When we had arrived we had asked for a product that they measured out for us without asking how much we needed. The quantity was too large for what we needed and it was very expensive. When we asked if we could take a smaller amount we were told no. We understand its COVID and near a holiday, but please dont treat your customers poorly because you are having problems managing the very people you are lucky enough to call customers.
