Friendly accommodating staff, general store had great items and we loved our RV sites! Grounds and trails were beautiful this fall, just a short drive to parks, lake, and gas/grocery. Bath houses were clean and water was very hot, making our trip comfortable. We will be back to visit again!
Spruce Row campground is a very large campground. Even thou none of the employees stopped and talked with us about our stay while we saw them around the campground. We talked with some seasonal camper, tent & RV campers. Everyone was friendly and suggested things to do. When our family goes camping we choose a campground near lots of outside activities. Our family took full advantage of both walking Buttermilk & Taughannock Falls and the bike path at Cass Park (which is paved). We went into Ithaca for lunch (there are tons of restaurants). Even a Wegmans grocery store in case you forgot something. There is plenty of activities to do at the campground also… pool, jumping pillow, play ground, trail and a hay ride. We bikes around the campground with our 2 grandkids several times since it’s so large (lots of fun). Our RV site #48 was grass covered with only water and electric (if it rains you will need wooden planks our leveling blocks sank) It was one of the largest sites we ever had for our rv (33 feet). We were able to play kick ball, bocce and a few other games right at our site not in the street. The only downside was the dump station. You have to take your RV thru the whole campground to get to it since it’s in the back of the campground. I would definitely go back our family has a wonderful time.
We camped over memorial weekend. The staff is very friendly. This campground is focused on kids. Our site was perfectly level. We got water and electric site. Sites are large, we had a picnic table and fire ring on our site and enjoyed our stay. Its within 2 miles of the Taughannock Falls and local beach. Close to Ithaca for a day trip. Nights were quiet, and I slept extremely well here.
Had to cancel our reservation the day before we were scheduled to leave on our vacation to the Finger Lakes due to unforeseen truck problems. The campground was very understanding and credited my account for a future stay, which we will definitely schedule as soon as I have a truck to pull our camper. Thank you, Spruce Row Campground!
We stayed there last week during the grassroots festival. It was a nice spot away from the festival where the kids were able to get some rest and relaxation. The pool is great and the campground is well maintained. The seasonal campers around us were also very nice and so helpful. One of the seasonal campers even let us borrow an extension for our sewer hose. The staff was very friendly. The hay ride was fun. Great place to camp. We plan to go back in September.
Very pretty campground with lots of shady sites. There were a lot of people there, some noisy, but everyone was pretty respectful of the quiet hours, which is nice. The pool is very unique and fun, though the bottom is sharp. My little guy skinned the bottom of both of his big toes, so Id recommend wearing water shoes. They have fun bikes that the kids rode over the weekend, but Im not sure if you rent them or what.My only complaints (and reasons for 4 stars instead of 5) are the following. First, when I booked they never processed my card. I called a week ahead to make sure we were all set and they had no site booked for me. Thankfully the site was still open, and I gave all my info again. When we arrived they had the booking but under a different name, so I had to give all my information again. Second, when we checked in we were not welcomed very warmly, and the woman never gave us a schedule of events. It seemed like there were a few scheduled activities going on throughout the weekend (Labor Day), but we didnt know about any of it. Finally, the roads throughout the campground are really, really rough. Lots of potholes, and a few severe bumps. The bumps are marked, but pretty intense. We would book a weekend at this place again, as it is pretty, and in an amazingly beautiful area. The seasonal folks were very kind and friendly, and the trees kept us nice and cool!
Good location. Access roads to sites not smooth. Permanent sites are trashy and put a stain on the place. Friendly hosts, though they should require seasonal campers to keep their sites more appealing and not allow junk accumulation. Low water pressure at full hook-up sites. Bathhouse near our site at back of campground was in need of attention.
We had a great time at Spruce Row. Activities for the kids to keep them out of your hair. Friendly and helpful staff and clean bathrooms. Bathhouse arent as outdated as lead to believe, there are a few toilet houses that are rustic, but its camping. The showers are HOT and the water pressure was perfect and thats always important to me. We had site 51 and it was perfect for our one tent. Even had the cutest creek that ran next to it and created the best white noise that made me not miss my fan at home. If we ever come up from MS again, we will be camping there again.
Very nice family friendly campground. Theres activities and playgrounds for kids and a large public pool onsite. Close to Ithaca and close to Taughannock falls for hiking, the views or just the boat launch. Lots of shaded sites so getting baked in the sun isnt something to have to worry about either.
Staff is nice, helpful. Campground itself well kept. Bathrooms are rustic, look every bit as old as the campground - could use updating. And taller toilets! Couldnt believe how low they sat. More than a few of the seasonal residents need to clean up too. 90% are fine, 10% need help.
Perfect campsite to spend a week or more with your family and friends!Features great swimming pool, fishing pond, arcades, basketball field, and tractor rides.Has a store with ice cream, soda, ice and firewood.Restrooms are not ideal though. The tent spots are shady, huge and pretty private, there are lot of trees.
Amazing, friendly staff and great location. Huge pool with water slide, fun events, plenty of things to do. Had a great experience camping in one of the cabins and was able to have a fire right at my own campsite. Close to wineries and a grocery store. Highly recommend!!
We stayed for a week in our class A motor-home and we rented a cabin for our grown daughter and her family and it was great. The camp is extremely well maintained and clean with a very family friendly environment with lots to do for the young family as well as quiet and respectful for the more experienced camper. - Scott you and your staff (family) do a great job!!
Nice campground. Close to Ithaca and all the falls and hiking trails. I gice it a 4 as it does show its age but is clean and maintained. Also water pressure at our site, 159 is a little low, but the electric is running between 115 and 122 amps. Not bad for a humid day wirh a lot of A/C working. Nice tree shaded site.
Very clean, secluded and pet friendly. Theres a little confusion on the pull in sites where if they are occupied by another RV its impossible to enter. Realistically they are a side by side lot.Internet is poor to none so bring a booster or mobile hot spot. Camp is about 15 minutesto downtown and about 5 minutes to Taughannok falls
This was our 2nd trip hoping to be better then the last family trip! Again, we got a site w no stones & a complete mud pit!! We understand Mother Nature, but these sites should have stones on each & every site due to Mother Nature!! On top of all the mud the arcade was not working & was a let down for the kids!! This was supposed to be a nice family vacation Stress free & fun!! We made the best of it, but we will never come back!! The pool was the only good thing for the kids!! Also there were 2 pit bulls on the premises that attacked a small dog not far from our site!! We couldn’t walk our dogs near there or let our grandkids be alone at all after this!! Sad as it is a nice area!!
Most horrible campsite evuery. Owners could care less about your quality of your stay. We left a flday early. Dirty bathrooms and near repair , cabin needs fixing, roads so rough , should be closed, and not kid friendly , no activities for kids, hay ride lame, pool is a pond full with cold Creek water.
7/25-31/2014 - GPS took us on some wild roads to get here, but no fault of the campground. Sites are fairly level and shady but a little close to your backdoor neighbors. Although we have a TT, still like to utilize bath houses if decent. OK for me, but wife decided to use our own. Staff friendly and informative. No cable - whats the world coming to? A few permanent residents - some of which should be told to clean up their area. If return to the area, would probably shop around a bit for another campground.
This was a pretty disappointing campground and we wont return. The owners nickel and dime you at every turn and clearly do not put the money back into the campground. The miniature golf was a joke as half the homes were broken, the wristbands you pay extra for were a waste of money as half the activities that you can use them for either people snuck on or they were rude to our children about doing them. The playground by the pool had broken swings and was falling a part. Thankfully we traveled in a group and were surrounded by people we knew because the lots are so small and crowded that it would have been awkward had we been sharing the small area with strangers. We visit several campgrounds every year and this dirty, broken down, over crowded campground will not be going on our list of must come back to.
Stay awayIts horrible the bathrooms offer a trickle of water at best. I couldnt even get my shampoo out of my hair. The roads to get around the campground are filled with holes. You will be lucky your wheel bearings make it. Its sad because up keep would make it nice but there is none.
My family had such a great time at Spruce Row this past weekend! Haywagon rides, swimming in the pool, Christmas in July, cookie decorating, jumping on the air-mattresses in the tent, bike rides, playing on the playground, and enjoying all of the wonderful and friendly staff. And we were only there two days! We will be back soon.
Its obvious at first glance that very little maintenance is put into this place. There are no concrete pads, and the gravel is sparce....important when the weather is wet. The stocked pond is very lame...choked with algae and weeds. Contrary to what the website says, its impossible for a trout to live there, and unlikely for a bass.

2022-05-16Stayed for 2 nights in our camper. The grounds were nice and maintained. You can tell the owners really care about the facilities and the grounds. Did not see any washers and dryers though but there were toilets and showers throughout the camp ground. There was events all weekend at the camp grounds for all ages, which was nice for it being early in the camping season, and it was a lot of fun! The camp store has all the essentials and then some as well.Met friends that rented a camper from the grounds and the Camper was nice and clean. We rented a golf cart and it was fun cruising around the camp ground and see the little spots on the grounds!Taughannock state park is 2 miles from the camp ground and is a go to waterfall/park!The camp ground is 10-15 min from the town of Ithaca but dark enough that we could see the stars and lunar eclipse last night!

2022-06-19We spent this past weekend here. I agree with so many of the comments, friendly staff, well taken care of grounds. However, the bathhouses are extremely out dated. While showering in a tight, cold drafty space where the water went icy when someone got in the shower room next to me. It was unpleasant. Also, as dressing I realized the door had so many gaps I could see out. Therefore someone else could see in if they chose. If in the area we will definitely go back, if we can get a full hook up so I do not have to go in that shower again!

2022-06-08We enjoyed our stay here. Had a hugh pull thru site with full hook up. Nice shade. At the back of the campground and it was pretty quiet. Great jumping off spot for wine tasting and hiking Watkins Glenn. Would stay here again

2021-08-31I had no idea this campground was so close by; Ive lived in the area and didnt realize they had some fun activities! They have a great pool and bounce pad, their cabins are very clean, but small. Air conditioning throughout does help in the dead of August! For a fun day trip, you can bring the family and hit the pool. Bugs were minimal.

2021-07-27The people who work at Spruce Row and the family members who own the campsite couldnt be nicer. This was our first camping experience using a used camper trailer. Of course, everything went wrong, the AC, the fridge and hot water wouldnt work. The problem was with the camper and not the camp ground electric. I asked for help and 4 maybe 5 people were at our campsite in minutes. Try as they might, nothing worked. We were not able to stay the night in a hot trailer with a child under 2. We wish we could have enjoyed the pool, walking trail and other amenities at the Spruce Row. It all looked really nice driving in and driving out. Thank you Spruce Row for all the help and going out of your way to help us close the awning and slide out. First class people at this campsite.

2021-05-27This is one of my favorite campgrounds we have ever stayed. The location is fantastic, close to everything Ithaca has to offer, yet away from it all as well. The weekends are filled with fun activities for all ages and the weekdays are quiet and peaceful. The facilities are clean and the grounds are well maintained. I would definately recommend staying here!

2021-09-10We thought this campground was very nice. People in park not too friendly, but staff was helpful. Quiet and good space. We definitely would camp there again.

2021-07-21This campground was definitely more for RV campers. The tent sites were located down hill in a very swampy area. One of the bathrooms listed on the campground map was torn down but the map wasnt updated. We had chosen our campsite because of its proximity to that bathroom so we were very disappointed that we had to walk a ways through the mud in order to use the next closest bathroom. If we had known before hand, we would have changed campsites or not camped here at all. Also, the showers and bathrooms were dirty and horrible!!! If you have an RV these campground would be fine but if you are a tent camper, stick to a KOA campground.

2020-10-12Perfect location, friendly staff. Stayed for 3 nights in a cabin. Cabin was clean and adequate. Lots of weekend activities planned, nice store. Its not a fancy campground but thats why we like it. Relaxing and down to earth. Bathrooms are older as noted in other reviews but served the purpose. We will come here again
