Hello guys, I’m back after a year. I always wanted to write more reviews but I was super busy with classes and work . So, I couldn’t be active on this page . It’s my first time coming to this place. At the beginning, when a gentleman checked out temp and and when we got seated. That time, he was not welcoming and he was little rude at the beginning. I thought I chose the wrong place to eat but then after trying the food. I must say they got the best food in flushing and they’re the best in my opinion. Food was excellent, whenever I order beef or either pork, I order it once. But yesterday, I was compelled to order another one because it was that good. The dish that I ordered another time was beef. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR DELIVERYI ordered two things and they FORGET to put the $43 food inside the bag, so I need to wait for another hour to get my diner at almost 10 pm. How dumb is this... Please hire smart people to work or you will lose customers!
Great experience! Went for lunch with 6 other people and they served us well. The food was really tasty!
This place is awesome! The food is amazing & I believe the man cooking our food was the owner. He was so nice & made the experience wonderful. We went for my boyfriend’s birthday and he played a Korean Birthday song & he got a beer on the house. We got lucky to get a spot inside especially during the pandemic most people were outside. Will definitely return here. The service was 5 star. This man knows how to run a restaurant.
The food was absolutely delicious and fantastic. Everything was expertly cooked.Even though we didnt get the joy of cooking it ourselves, we still had a wonderful time. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The beer on tap was fresh as well. I would highly recommend the LA style short ribs.
It was authentic Korean, while you can find similar quality nearby. Not the best, but recommendable! I think they are known for Korean BBQ, which I didnt try, but I think it is worth a visit!
Ssam Tong is raising the bar on Murray Hill!Quality food for quality price. I mean, compare to their portion. When someone say BBQ, its crazy, all I think about is... Lets go to ssaaaammmmtttoonnngggg!!!Heres some photos of their crazy portions. So juicy. So good. Go, I recommend.

Came to this spot yesterday for the first time and I absolutely loved it. I love the old school korean music, great quality food, and the best service Ive ever had at a korean restaurant. If youve ever been to Korea you know that theyre all about service. This place just had impeccable service. The woman helping us was on point and got us whatever we needed more of before we even needed to ask for it like water and veggies. I cant wait to go back!
Delicious food and very nice personnel! Only negative point is that they use sooooooo much plastic!! But the trip to Korean Flushing is totally worth it
Small area and crowded, food is very expensive! we were asked to sit in a wall area and then in the middle of that the waiter came back and asked us to move to a smaller table just because we didn’t order two BBQ , the waiter wanted us to leave our table to the new customer , otherwise, we were asked to leave. RUDE! Stay away from this place!

I came here for my friends birthday dinner we are Hispanic and as soon as we walked in we could feel the bias the owner was in our necks the whole visit and when I asked for soy sauce he rudely pointed at some sauce in onions that was not soy sauce and I wanna point out I wasn’t even talking to him I was talking to the waiter they also didn’t let us cook our own food and had an attitude

Tried it for the first time with my family and was so impressed. The waitress was amazing. We explained it was our first time there and she helped us pick out the most amazing food. She was kind, patient and so sweet definitely our favorite Korean bbq. Service and food were a 5 ⭐️ review.
Boss Jay is super nice and offered a lot of complimentary food items. It is definitely a high quality Korean bbq experience and I recommend this place to everyone. I will definitely be returning here with my friends. We had a very enjoyable time and we felt safe dining here during the pandemic.

Very small place but kept good distancing between customers. Food was tasty but for a Korean place, there werent enough side dishes, maybe 6 small plates. As we were 5 people, they should have at least doubled the portions.

My boyfriend and i went here yesterday after we lost reservations at gyu-kaku, and let me tell you this place was a GREAT FIND!!! Food was AMAZING, and staff was wonderful! Shout out to the seating hostess lady! She was really cool and had some cute dance moves! We loved her! Will definitely be going back!!!
This was my first visit, but I love this place. The first thing I noticed was how upbeat the atmosphere and music were. The service is friendly and quick, but they dont rush you.We had thin sliced duck and beef tripe grilled at the table, and spicy grilled squid from the kitchen; everything was of excellent quality and flavor. Prices were decent for the portion sizes, and the sides were abundant.I definitely look forward to going back, but this time Ill make sure to make a reservation.
I was looking for a new place to celebrate my birthday and came across this restaurant with a rating of 4.5 I call to make a reservation. As we sat down we started to feel rush from the server, we order some drinks and appetizer. Drinks came first, and started to feel more rush, having everything at the same time, food and appetizers.The food was great but the service wasn’t all good, because once again we felt RUSH! The whole time we were there. I never had a birthday dinner in less than 45min. We understand the restrictions because of the pandemic situation but, it wasn’t the way to treat a costumer.

Food and services are good and everything is expected normal. The food portion is small. Therefore, I believe it is slightly overprice. Otherwise, it is 5 stars.
I had the fresh pork BBQ combo. Food was okay, nothing special about it. Service was okay but we were not able to place any order after 15 min from our first order.Face covering was required most of time except the time when we were eating. We werent able to have conversations when we were almost done eating.I understand some parts that it is due to COVID-19 but I wouldnt come back to this place for next time.
Excellent food!!! So delicious its been a while having some delicious yummy korean bbq. All fresh scrumptious meat. Also the green tea bibim noodle is so delicious.... no other words to describe the deliciousness of the food. Owner is has a funny sense of humor and great service.

I came all the way from Florida for a visit my family, and I wanted them to try something new for a birthday, and we came across this restaurant with a good rating. It is the first time I felt so rush while eating, since the drinks and appetizers which came after the main combos. Never had a dinner felt so rush.Food was great but the service wasnt good at all, compare to the ones I experience in Fort Myers, and Orlando.
It was our first time to have dinner at Ssam Tong and it was great! They put up a very nice outdoor dinning area with proper social distant between tables. Even thought, we cant cook our own food but food is nicely done, we have pork belly, prime ribs and beef brisket slice for BBQ. Also ordered seafood pancake and a hot casserole - Savory beef intestine, vegetables with udon noodles and rice cakes, it is on the spicy side but all good. We have five people but cant finish the food, there are two days lunch left over LOL. It costed us less then $200 with tips not bad at all. Service are excellent, thanks to the girl who served us and I think the other guy who help to serve the food is the owner and he showed me the lighting on the outside of the dinning area, nice job! I would recommend to anyone who enjoy Korean food, nice ambient, nice food and great hospitality!
Great service, great food, interesting atmosphere. We had the pork belly and the prime rib. Everything tasted super fresh. Would be better if they had more space or a better beer selection, but we were super satisfied with our experience. Would absolutely go back.
Came in on a night that didnt seem too crowded for the restaurant so we got a seat immediately. Service was great, we were attended to fairly rapidly so we were happy about that. The food was overall a 8/10; I had the thinly sliced pork which was amazing (I had another pork related item but forgot what it was but that was good also). The marinated beef on the other hand wasnt that great; it was quite thick so we couldnt bite through some of it. Next time I stop in, Id like to give their other pork items a try!

Best Korean BBQ in NYC, great service, nicest servers Ive been around in a long time. Food is fresh and flavorful, and they give a lot of food. My daughter is 10 and she loves this place they are so nice to her. We leave full and happy and they have beer that goes great with the grilled food. Our only Korean BBQ spot we will go to. Meat is fresh has great marbling. I was there with my family and the servers were attentive and friendly. They refilled my side dishes without question. One of the servers told me that since they started getting busy people started posting fake negative reviews to hurt the business.This is sad guys. People shouldn’t hurt other businesses because they are jealous. I think you should just go there and see for yourself, this restaurant is really a gem and the staff is really friendly. The rib eye is a must!
What a disappoment! Ruined my dinner!This is NOT the Korean food taste like at all! Marinated Meat and noodles are overlay sugar sweet. I dont recommend this place at all. If youre looking for authentic Korean BBQ This is NOT the place to go.

The absolute rip off. I was rushed from the very beginning and was told that I can’t order more at 8 pm because there was a line outside waiting for the table. I went and checked and not even a single person was present. I have complained to all the related authories about this business and would continue to do so until they fix their attitude and ways to conduct business.If you want to have a good Korean bbq experience, don’t waste your time and money here.
Well I drove 3 hours to come to NYC. I wanted korean bbq and I loved the pictures on line. Unfortunately, I paid over a $100. On my meal. Only got 2 small plates of brisket and one chicken. The waitress was rude and I felt rushed to pay and she stood over me asking for a bigger tip. NEVER AGAIN!!!

If youre looking for quality Korean bbq, this place is it. the old standby pork belly is great, but pork jowl (항정살) is the real star. the owner is a former meat salesman, so he knows his meat, too. we had pork this time, but well be back for the beef next.
Visited here today with my friends. The pork belly was really great but mostly I was l surprised by their great services. Ive been to a lot of k bbq places and work at a such place as well but I think the servers at ssamtong are the nicest.
Jay the owner is very friendly, great entertainer. House beer is very good. He even treated us to a couple beers. Guys give it a go!!!!
As a BBQ restaurant, their meat are high quality. Taste is as good as their service. Only thing they could improve, IMO, is to increase small plates variety.
Good food. Very attentive staff. Excellent quality meats. The marinated kalbis flavor is subtle which I enjoyed because it lets you really appreciate the quality of the meats.

Been here multiple times for the food. They billed me correctly then charged me extra on my credit card. Called them out and they apologized.. but I overheard this happen to the table before me. Questionable. Not going back.

The giblets are delicious. Overall clean and the boss was very kind. The water cold noodles are invisible. Bibim cold noodles were delicious. The meat is also good.
Not worth a single star. At the table next to us, we were arguing with overcharged people, so I thought that drunk people were hanging around, but when I looked at my receipt, there was more than one portion of pork belly. It was the end of the year, so I had fun eating and then came home and took antidepressants

The store was clean and the food was delicious, but it seemed to be a decent restaurant that was rare in the neighborhood, so I was very impressed !! :)
I ate raw ribs seasoned ribs and naengmyeon, and the ribs were soft and the seasoning was not salty.

2021-10-14Loved visiting this place. Employees and owner were kind and caring. Nowadays, it’s kind of hard to find restaurants that really care for their customers but this place did! 2021-11-02Came here for lunch, pretty good experience. There is no wait time and not that packed. The meat is pretty good, very fresh and tender. The soy bean soup portion wise is slightly small, wasnt even full when they serve it. Other than that, everything else was pretty good.

2021-07-25We went here for lunch today and had just an okay experience. The service was a bit scattered. They were missing items from the menu and only told us after we ordered. The appetizers were fine but there werent many and werent actively replaced. The owner was a bit snappy to his employees and was also the only grill cook there. Overall, I think there are many better options for Korean BBQ in Flushing and cant figure out why there are so many 5 star reviews here. For close to $200 for 4 people, I expect more.

2022-03-11Amazingly high-quality meat for KBBQ and exceptional service from everyone who works here!Our group (some korean, some non) all had different tastes for what to order so the owner(?) listened to what we were looking for and his recommendation was perfect for us in terms of flavor/texture/portion size/etc. We got the thick cut pork belly plus the unmarinated combo (both thick and thin cuts), so we could definitely tell how good the meat was on its own, as well as with the sesame oil+salt or in the lettuce wrap with samjang. The side dishes and complimentary steamed egg and spicy stew were also so so great.UGHHH the owner was so kind and friendly as he checked in and cooked the meat for us; I was also impressed that the other servers (who didn’t look korean) could understand me when i was struggling to find the right words. You can tell how proud they are of their work - will definitely try again soon, this time with marinated options :)

2022-01-24The overall experience was okay, but I personally don’t find the restaurant special. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Expect to spend at least $50-$100 per person - that should get you 5-7 meat varieties. For the amount of food you get per order, it’s not worth it.If you’re looking for acceptable service and mediocre food, this is the place for you.PS. I forgot to mention, I found a strand of blonde hair my food. I have jet black.

2022-01-19The meat quality is really good here(get the pork belly). We had 6 and ordered a beef set and a pork set but we had to order more since we were still a little hungry.The kbbq was good but didnt like the Tteokbokki or the seafood pancake much since they felt a bit too soft for my liking.

2022-02-04Food tastes great but they put maybe 5 pieces of meat in one of the smaller sections of their bento boxes. Other restaurants put the main dish in the larger part of the box but they filled that part up with just white rice .. got a lot more kimchi than needed. Wouldn’t recommend getting their bento boxes if you are expecting more meat quantity over rice.
