This hospitals customer service is HORRENDOUS!!! Ridiculous visitation policy implemented. Customer Service does not know who their supervisor is when you call asking for one. The security guard last name Duvall is the rudest and inconsiderate person i have ever dealt with, no compassion that my grandmother is 93 yrs old and extremely sick. My mother went to visit my grandmother from PR, and because one person had already visited and left, they did not let her in. Called and asked for a supervisor and nobody knew of one!! How can this be??? If i could put no stars i would.
The worse hospital in the in the bronx, it is a duty place no hygiene for patients, customers service sucks, the staff are rude. And this place should be close i dont know how the state can keep that place open. My father is currently a patient there and let me tell that the services is really bad the beds are old beds rooms are too hot. And the doctors they not even know what are they doing.
If I could give this hospital a negative 10 I would! This place stinks. They have horrible bedside manner. They discharged my mother without any real explanation or follow up. Shed been there a week on 6North and each day that Ive called the phone just rings and rings. The staff completely ignores the patients and the family members. I hate it. Never again! Shell have to go to Montefiore from now on!
Horrible horrible experience and worst service inadvertently ever received. The clinic person who answer phone to Obgyn Dept requires utmost empathy and customer services training asap. Getting documents or records are getting home and Unprofessionally. They are rude when it come to make appointments but they are very prompt when it comes to sending bills. Their are getting worst with time and now it just not worth your time to be a patient with SBH. Person who answered phones are just getting ignorant and unprofessional with time and it was absolutely been worst today. I was transferred to patient records Dept and their she was asking me make an appointment to get my referral letter. Mind you this referral letter was given to me last week on virtual appointment with SBH Obgyn and all I was asking records Dept/ Obgyn to fax to my Endocrinologist. And SBH records employee said to me I don’t what I’m taking about
I would give a negative rating if I could.The doctors and PA in this hospital seem competent but the nurse aids are lazy, rude, lack compassion.. their interaction with you makes your condition worse than it is.
The staff is not on their job.a house care worker came in my single room three out my personal food and three dollars..now of course all top people got involved but no good anwers. So keep all valubles on you at all times.i some to nurse head staff even with hospital adminastror and no luck.my advice to people go to another hospital.
Horrible place!!! Inept staff, uncaring staff, we had to move my brother from this hospital to another hospital. Were looking into suing this hospital for the shoddy, abusive behavior my brother was subjected to as an inpatient there.
I have been there and my dad is there and they just dont care hes injured bad and they not doing nothing I called the hospital and i was on hold for an hour and nobody could find my father im suing st.barnabas hospital for negligence and other things so please pay attention and be alert
My mother in law was taken there due to a fall had surgery there is no Nurse to feed her change her bedding and even get her water called to ask for patients advocate or administrator was hung up on did not want to give her her pain medication need to make abid deal trying to get her transferred to Jacobi
My mother was taken to the emergency room on 12/24/21 by ambulance because she was non-responsive in the morning. The ambulance gave her oxygen during the trip to the hospital. After numerous tests, nothing was found to be wrong with her so they sent her home by ambulance. When she arrived at the home and was placed in her bed she smelled terribly. It turns out that the hospital staff had done nothing to clean her up and just wrapped her in the hospital sheets which were full of feces. In addition, no discharge information was provided even though they said that they would send it with her upon discharge. I made numerous calls to both the nurses station and to the Admin Resident to complain and to request the discharge papers, but never received return calls. In addition, even though we provided the insurance information at the emergency room, they obviously lost it since she recently received a invoice for close to $3,000. This hospital should be closed down. COVID or no COVED, there is no excuse for hospitals to get away with providing terrible service to anyone.
I just had the best service from Juan he’s located at the main entrance front desk. Very respectful, very polite, very patient and very helpful to me and others. There’s not many workers like him! Thank you so much Juan.
I have a loved one in this hospital. He has been in a lot of pain. As a nurse I know some of them care with their hearts and some is in the field for a paycheck. He was told his call light would be replaced and it hasn’t. A nurse was in his room and I was asking her if she could check and see if he has any pain meds and she said, “not right now I’m busy” so I realize it was almost time for them to change shifts. So I asked her may I have her name and I will call the nurse’s station and speak with her. She told me no I do not need to know her name she is busy! I’m very unhappy with the treatment he is receiving and I pray no one does her family like that!
This hospital (if thats what you want to call it) is the worst!!! Its filthy and the people are rude and dont care less. You cant get no answers. They discharged my mom and called her an hour later to tell her she needs to come back her blood work came back negative with serious problem.... Where they do that at! Cant make this stuff up. If you can please go somewhere else. I wouldnt send my worst enemy...
The fact that some people had a bad experience in the hospital does not mean that it is bad, I followed my entire pregnancy, And they treated me like a queen from day 1, Im still carrying my baby and the deal is the same, they are very kind I would give it 6 stars
Emergency staff seems more thrilled to be on there phone texting and smiling then to attend to people wanting help

My go to place for emergency prescriptions. The very young doctors are nice to me. And if you go in the early hours say 4am to 7am there will be no wait. The ER is often empty. In and out quick🌞UPDATE. 4-20-21 I was refused care from the dental clinic. I went to have a broken tooth removed and the dentist refused. I was stunned a dentist who refused to pull a tooth. Now I have a broken tooth in my mouth and no place to get it removed. Five hours waiting for nothing
My dads been taking by the ambulance here since 5pm. No doctor calls me to let me know whats going on. Luckily my dad has his phone on him. If not I wouldnt know anything. So much for letting family members know the health of a love one.

The worse emergency. I went today with cought and itch i have record of high blood presure and no body took my blood presure i expense 6 hours waiting in emerhency room and i didn see any doctor only the ladys from triage which wrote in my record that she took my blood presure without she took. They dont care about the patient. When i said to.the doctor that i will leave to other hospytal he told me that good bye its fine. Is incredible.
Father was taken via Ambulance at 5am. Was left in a soaking bed for over 6 hours. Was told they have emergencies. With attitude no less. But they will discharge you on a Monday and have that bill in your mailbox by Friday.
Went to the ER with my wife and her tooth infection because her appointment for the dentist was in two weeks. Waited there for 8 hours and was given tilenol and sent home. Just go to your personal doctor if you can
I’m not from here but had an emergency and all I can say is I feel so bad for the residents who have to go there. The staff is disrespectful and helps no one, I sat and watched a man bleed out of his stitches for an hour and was not helped. They are equipped to be a proper hospital in my opinion. It’s corona season and I watched multiple people in and out the bathroom with it not being cleaned once in the 6 hours I sat there. By the grace of god they SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN If I could give 0 starts I would. Please don’t listen to these fake 4/5 star rating reviews PLEASE just consider a different hospital. THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR 2 MYSTERIOUS DEATHS! READ REVIEWS!
I was there yesterday visiting a loved one. I went to buy some Lunch/Dinner on the 1st floor. My plate was $10 dollars, sat by the cafeteria. The lady who didnt tell me her name has a (Tattoo of cross) on her forehead is disgustingly unprofessional nasty grotesque mannerisms also hispanic. Dont ever buy nothing to eat there at all, (Please Beware)!!!!
This hospital is nothing compared to what it used to be. They have a terrible directive now, a chaos with the appointment of doctors per patient and the worst thing is that you pay for a service that you doesnt know whats going on. This place is in need of an employee cleaning and an urgent overhaul.
I was so disrespected Im a large woman but not that big and just pushing me from triage area to waiting room in the wheelchair the nurse kept saying omg your so heavy Im going to hurt my back, cat scan guy even though I fit for a head cat scan already accused me of not being able to fit for my stomach one said Im too big and going in Id stop the machine from working, he put me in the machine said one take in a deep breath and hold your breath then breathe next thing I know he stopped it and took me out with no reason why, he wouldnt help as much as he could to move me back over called the doctor who was in the room with me and made him do most of the work, get on my floor and their arguing with me and transportation to move me over told us Im too big their going to hurt their back and wouldnt even help her push the stretcher she asked for help cause she had my wheelchair too. Never been so disrespected being plus size in a hospital before.
Imagine the projects were turned into a hospital. That is what this is. Disgusting. The staff are very lost and clueless. I needed a prescription fulfilled at the closest pharmacy and neither the nurse or doctor knew anything.
Worse hospital ever! If you have an emergency do not go there, you will be waiting 3+ hours. There’s homeless people that walk in and just hang out in the waiting area, as well as junkies. Very unprofessional staff as well.
Two weeks ago my uncle was transferred to this hospital by his Nursing Home due to blood found in his stool. Two days after he was placed in hospice where he was pronounced dead within 24 hours. The cause still unknown. My mother requested for an autopsy which was never completed with no explanation due to phone calls and voice messages never being returned. I paid a visit to the Hospital the day after his death to find out how long he will be held in the morgue as well as to pick up his belongings. The front desk placed a call to security who was placed on the phone trying to convince my family & I that my Uncle did not have any belongings. We refused to leave. After almost 3 1/2 hours later and one alteration with a Ghetto woman at the front who tried to fight my Sister and I, we were finally provided with an entire bag of my Uncles things. When getting home and sorting through his stuff we realized a large amount if money was missing. We were not so concerned with this at the moment as the process to get everything else was mentally and emotionally draining. Fast forward a few days later, the Funeral Home advised that my Uncle was moved to the Medical Examiners office in Queens on day 6 of being held, when we were told he will not be transferred until the 7th day. Nobody from St. Barnabas even called the Family to notify. I have NEVER dealt with so much disrespect and incompetence in my life! The process of planning a Funeral and mourning the loss of a deceased is hard enough, this hospital is absolutely HORRIBLE. I am also convinced they are responsible for negligence and the cause of my Uncles death. PlEASE DO NOT COME HERE!
I just passed by on the bus but its supposed to be a good trauma hospital according to news reports.
It to me depends i gave birth to my daughter here and only had one problem a nurse that didnt really help me but once the next nurse came I was in amazing hand with her and the doctor that delivered my daughter.Yes sometime it is long wait to see the doctor but I do understand because it depends on the situation along with when my daughter had a allergic reaction to medicine they was helpful and understood I knew what I was talking about.

If I could rate this hospital a zero (0) I would instantly. I went to this hospital and the majority of workers and clients are immigrants that dont know what there doing. Time I walk into the hospital the guards want me to disclose my personal information to them. And when I didnt they Begin to threaten me . I wanted to call the police on the staff for criminal threatening. But it all happened to fast and I didnt have the time to record them on my cell phone. But God knows the truth, And he will avenge me for what that hospital did to me. Never go to saint Barnabas Hospital!!!!!
This hospital is terrible. I went In for chest pains and recieved terrible service. The staff was uncaring and nonchalant. The place was very dirty as well. There was old food someone threw on the floor and trash lying around. It smelled like urine everywhere. I kept having to get up and get my doctor to see what was going on and she didn’t even know what was going on. She could care less and the staff was caring to other patients either. A few times the EMTs and nurses were making fun of the patients coming in. This place is terrible. If this place actually had caring doctors and nurses It could be a good hospital but it’s not. I’d recommend going elsewhere if you can. Please don’t waste your time because in my experience I didn’t receive the help I needed.
The board of health needs to shut this place down ! It is filthy & full of nothing but “professionals” with attitudes that match the state of the building itself. Staff does NOT care about you. They have let countless individuals die due to negligence. They must have a funding problem with the way they just watch somebody die, rather then getting more testing ran. SHUT THEM DOWN !!!
This is not a very good hospital. They take weeks to get back to you if they even get back to you at all. No one seems to know anything when you ask a question and you’re always transferred to someone else or on hold for hours. I changed my son’s clinic just for this reason and I will be changing my own. The lack of sympathy or empathy from the people who work their is just pathetic and unacceptable. Quality service is something that they provide.
I had my 2nd c-section at this hospital.The entire experience was horrible. My 1st son was born in Ct. From how they give meds to how they treat the baby.I would not recommend this hospital to ANYONE. Horrible uncaring staff.How is this place even open... Probably because its in the Bronx
If you see more than 2stars then it’s fake. The hospital needs a whole overhaul from staff to cleaning. I will say Trauma unit has saved lives but once you slightly recover leave this hospital it is not for long term patients! The nurses are so rude and lazy like Do YOUR JOB peoples loved ones depend on you
This is the worst hospital, my husband almost die there, the ambulance took him to emergency with stones in the gallblader and he needed it surgery, the hospital keep him for 5 days only doing test and giving him morfin, I had to transfer him to Presbyterian hospital, and as soon he got there, they discovered that he developed pancreatitis for not doing the surgery on time. He spent 2 days receiving antibiotics before having the surgery. Also one of the nurses took his wallet to put it in a safety locker, guess what his wallet dissapear with $55 dollars, credit cards, and driving license. The worst experience in the worst hospital ever.
In all my years of nursing I havent seen a worse hospital. My father ended up here due to an emergency and was left in the emergency room for 2 days due to not having an isolated room. A patient that is on airborne precaution is left to infect 10s maybe 100s of ppl they kept in an open space. I wouldnt go to this hospital if my organs were falling from out my body. The facility is despicable with a staff to match. Utterly disgusted by the healthcare.
I took my little brother here because he caught a panic attack and started having cardiac problems, we arrived on Monday night on Feb 10th, 2020 at 10:14pm, it is now 2:53am and we are still waiting on the doctor to check on him. By now my little brother couldve died, been dead or came very close before they even bothered to put a pep in anyones step. At this point, my little brother even wants to go home no longer concerned for his own safety due to the negligence this hospital had to offer. The Absolute Worst Hospital Ive Ever Had To Experience. I hope they close it down and everybody is Fired. It truly isnt even worth visiting anymore. (We arent the only people either whos been waiting hours upon hours for a doctor) (3:02am They finally brought someone in to see him)
ER DOCTORS were excellent! Saved and went over and beyond for my brothers life! EMTS were also amazing. ICU nurses were great, but once patient went to regular care in another floor level after ICU the nurses were horrible. I saw a lot of ignored patients. Only one Male nurse actually did his job and cared! Female nurses will ignore patients and will not check up on them even after pushing nurse button for hours. I witnessed multiple patients not cleaned for days! This 5 stars is for the Doctors and nurses from ER and ICU ONLY! Hospital does need upgrades and cleaning. Security downstairs was also alert.
If I can put zero stars I would. Today 8/2/19 I was scheduled for an appointment which I scheduled 2 months in advance just because the dentist department said they were booked 2 months out. So I finally made it to my appointment which was at 9am and Ive arrived 10 mins early. I literally waited an hour and a half to be seen and still have not been called. This is ridiculous. So unprofessional. People literally walked in for an appointment that was not scheduled and was being seen before me. All I wanted was a routine clean. I couldnt wait any longer so I canceled my appointment. This is not the first time this have happened. Its always a long wait time at St. Barnabas even though you make it on time to your appointment. I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN!!
Social Worker Gloria (super rude). Dr. Ahmed (also rude - hung up the phone on me). I would not bring my family member here for service. I would not refer this center to anyone for their family. Their treatment of the patients who come unattended (without assistance) is questionable - at times I feel like speaking up for them (breaks my heart to see such injustice) glad my dad is not receiving service here anymore - gave him such a hard time to be transferred. They refused to send the documents necessary for his transfer (did so reluctantly).
Excellent services the doctors and nurses are very well, but the elevator and some areas of the Hospital have to be fix or chance, I think that is time of chance the elevator and put new floor in some area.
Absolutely the worse experience ever ! The Staff are nasty, they do not care for the Patients. You try reaching Social Workers, Patient Relalations and you get voicemails, you leave messages and no one gets back to you. I would recommend that anyone and everyone steer clear of this place.Other than a handful of Doctors and Nurses that truly believe in Patient care and politeness you are doomed if you are placed here. Extremely long waits and they dont call ppl I think triage is having some kind of party where they wont tend to the ppl in the waiting area. Disgusting especially in a pandemic where they let the waiting area full up with ppl who has God knows what.

First hospital that I have ever walked into where it was hot!!! It felt like we were walking into a sauna!! I could just imagine the germs that are growing. They use the rooms as storage and its dirty here! My mother been a patient of Saint Barnabas for the past 10 years or more , today she feel sick and when to the ER since 12 pm been admitted, with no answer , the attending doctor have her ID Cover and didnt identify her self, 9.32pm still in the ER , with no answer on test results ,Worst experience ever. Will not come back .
Worst hospital I’ve been to in my entire life.😡 It takes 10 hours until you are fully attended. Doctors don’t know what they are doing. Barley any nurses or available doctors. Don’t recommend coming here if your waiting to be called for a serious thing. People could be dying in front of you and they wouldn’t even care.
Ilanit Zada, a pharmacist at St. Barnabas, was extremely inappropriate and rude. She was giving out access to medical records to students on rotations at the hospital, violating HIPAA laws.
I recently brought my Dad to St. Barnabas, and we met Dr. Polcino, a colon surgeon. From our first visit through his surgery, the team of people we worked with was great. Excellent communication and care. Thank you
DO NOT BRING OR LEAVE YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS HERE. Honestly I wouldn’t want to leave a stranger here. This hospital is sub par. Nurses are rude and negligent, rooms are dirty and poorly keptUp, there is no security measures taken in the building, literally the guard just waves anybody in and the nurses let you look through the hospital inventory freely so they don’t have to get up from their conversations... & all of this is in ICU imagine other floors. AVOID
I was referred to this hospital by my dentist for a tooth extraction. The clerks inside the mills building the oral department were rude, and unhelpful. I stood at the window 17 mins to be exact before someone offered me help. At this point my pain level was 8/10 a swollen face and a temperature of 103. Terrible place . I will never come back here I mean Never!!!!
Horrible they almost kill my son, I need the option to leave a minus star, I told my family not to take him there but it was an emergency and for convenience they took him.....the doctors gave him a medication that was the same drug family as the medication they were told the kid was allergic to... and tarà!! The kid developed and allergic reaction, they didnt put the name of that medication on the discharge summary, when we went back to ask about the name of the medication they started to treat him with antihistamines but guess what? They under Medicated him with the pill and we had to wait for the response, then the doctor wanted to put some injection when they had given him 5 pills already, after I made the doctor realize then he admitted that they had cause the allergic reaction and then they had under medicated him... mind you my family took him to the pediatric ED at 11 am approximately and left at 4 pm approx. then at 5:30 pm we went back to know the name of the medication he is allergic to and we left at 9:45 pm. NEVER AGAINYN

I could loose my baby but they don’t even care! Just horrible, I can’t believe this hospital is still up and running . Extremely under staffed, I can’t believe I’m even experiencing this!

This is one of the worst hospital in the bronx ny. Beside not treating the patients fair and professional. You waiting long hours and may died. They asked to much questions and they are not really doctors but students working with the patients. I recommend other hospitals such montefiore or bronxcare. If you care about your family and friends dont try saint banaba at all.
They sat there and neglected a 18 year old man while he was there complaining that he couldn’t breathe due to a asthma attack, they ignored him and miss diagnosed him and said it was a anxiety attack then walked away and then he later died of a cardiac a rest. Do not go to this hospital they do not care about you or your well being they killed this young man, they had him suffer for hours with no care in this world the workers are sick for letting him die in pain and fear.
Had a scary experience due to my sons injuries. The doctors and staff at this hospital are great. They were caring and understanding to all of our needs. I am forever grateful. Thank you

Worst hospital!!!!! My husband went there for a detox and treated him so horrible!!!! They didnt even call me to let me know if i should pick him up. Please if you have a love one and they need serious help dont send them there!!!!!!

I went for interview and they offered me a position. And for few days I was talking to one of the person in Pathology department he said I will tell HR to call you. On Friday the Friday the 21 of aug.2020. he said I dont have enough experience they want to hire who they know. Please do not work there.

It is horrible. We had to wait 4 hrs in the waiting room waiting for the doctor to call us. There werent many people where waiting. But Ive been here multiple times. But i think its best to take a ride in the ambulance because they call much more faster.

This place serves its purpose in the community. A neighbor of mine was hospitalized there and she is now in their rehabilitation building. There are stairs to climb to get in the rehab building. My 80 year mother who has arthritis has a hard time getting up and down those stairs when she goes to visit the neighbor.
A man complained about trouble breathing . and they just sat there doing nothing until he died . smh we need better caring and professional people in these hospitals .
Poor service ! My girlfriend and I were waiting for 8 hours for test results! They were trying to draw blood multiple times and did it incorrectly causing my girlfriend to spill blood all over her clothes. They did not offer any cold water until I asked the doctor to bring some for us..... never coming back !

This place is horrible I went with my spouse to the emergency room and I was flabbergasted, I waited 4hrs to be called -3hrs to be seen by a student doctors- another 3hrs for the results to come in- 4hrs to be released. 14 hours just to find out everything is fine.

DO NOT go here. They left a 18 yr old to DIE from an asthma attack after he repeatedly told them HE COULDNT BREATHE. He literally went into cardiac arrest for them to just pick him up, put him on a bed, and leave his lifeless body there. SUCH IDIOTS! I HOPE YOU GET SUED.

I had two incidents at this hospital , This has to be the WORST hospital in the state !! im so tired of this hospital . The first incident is when i came in for n appoontment and i did come 20 minutes late due to the train delays , i explained to the doctor what was going on and why i was late , the front desk receptionists were okay and understanding then they were trying to contact C.wilson , i believe she is a GYN doctor and after repeatidly trying to contact her , she finally comes out very fustrated and i just explained to her that all i wanted were my results ,& she came out into the lobby shouting out my results , which is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL !! i go to school and iam in the medical field & shouting out someones results even if it is negative , you are NOT allowed to share their informtion . i spoke to the director & hopefully shw addressed the situation . The second incident is now iam in the ER and i have been waiting since 11 o clock for my results bc iam having chronic back and breast pain and my mother who is disable , we were told to leave the room after my examination nd we were not giving seating and there were multiple patients standing nd bc of my back pain i have to sit down . My mother had to go back out into the waiting room and iam currenty sitting on the floor waiting on my results , This hospital is a sad case . but i will leave everything in gods hands with these lazy ass nurses and the people who run tgis hospital should be ashamed of themseves as well , no one has offered me a seat or anything & i PROMISE I WILL BE CHANGING MY HOSPITAL . & i RECOMMEND THIS HOSPITAL TO NO ONE !!! i pay for my insurance , & i deserve better & so does anyone else that needs care !!
That place needs a visit by the department of health, its a shame to call that place a hospital. The lack of professionalism by the staff is a disgusting I watched as they spoke to the nurse manager with disrespect when she came to try to help me. She then disappeared never to return. The state needs to do something about that place ASAP before it claims more innocent life.

I came in here with chest pain and asthma and I still have not been seen and I’ve been here for an hour now , none of the doctors or nurses want to help or do their jobs , they don’t care about the health of the patients . Literally the worst hospital ever. They make their patients in the ER wait over an hr to be seen and once theyre admitted, they have them laying here for long periods of time. The bathrooms are disgusting. Feces all over the toilet. Bad experience for my mother.
I was well taken care of i cant say anything negative about the hospital for it being my first time there. Yes it took a while for me to be discharge but its because im pregnant and they had to make sure that me and my baby are fine before they can send me home my doc was very caring and polite.
The staff was a little rude but they did their job at least. Id go again if I had to.

The worst hospital I have ever been to, I cant imagine a hospital being any worse then this one. When I called with several questions I was told something completely different. The way they treat the patients in the ER was inhuman, Im pregnant and they were passing food around in the ER at lunch time and I wasnt asked at all if I wanted any and I had been there since 3 am.. so NO breakfast NO lunch. Ive noticed the staff on the unit do not enjoy there jobs they look absolutely miserable, the receptionist dont know what they are talking about and will pass you along to all different extensions. I honestly would rather die in the road then go in there for emergency care!! The passing Civilians would be a better hope of saving my life then the staff here

This was my first time going there. I had to go to the emergency room and it was filthy, i am not sure what the rest of the place is like, but I didnt even want to sit down to get my asthma treatment. The nurse was really nice and I had fast treatment, but they sent me home with the wrong medicine. She got both of my asthma pumps wrong after I told her which ones I took. They said I have to go back to the emergency room if I want the correct meds, I decided to take the chance and wait for a doctors appointment at another place. Hopefully that will not be too long. They treat the homeless nice and I think that is great, but in my opinion it really needs to be cleaned and they need more janitors to make sure that it stays clean, and they need to make sure they give the right medicine. I should have checked but I was there from 3am till about 6am I was so exhausted.
MY DAUGHTER CAME WITH AN OPEN CUT. NEEDING STITCHES. TOOK LITERALLY 3 HRS BEFORE THEY CALLED HER NAME. THEN HAD TO WAIT TO ORDER WHAT THEY NEEDED TO USE. HOSPITAL SUCKS.

No one caught my child as I gave birth despite me saying, This baby is coming. Its coming they didnt have anyone even check if the head was crowning yet. No one looked down there any time after triage despite my comments and the obvious fact that I couldnt help but push. So my baby was born onto the bed. They also sent my husband to the waiting room so he missed the birth!! When I am an 8 in triage, you do not send my husband away! I am extremely upset that they did this especially since I asked multiple times for my husband to come.Our experience did not get any better from there. There were so many nurses and people coming in and out of my room and I never knew who was my nurse or who was my babys nurse or who was the nursery nurse, etc so when I asked the wrong nurse about the wrong patient, they seemed upset that I would ask them something that isnt their job.They wouldnt listen to me about my feeding desires and concerns . They push breastfeeding at the expense of the baby.I even had a nurse walk out while I was mid-sentence telling her my concerns. I am not exaggerating.Things about the building: it is old and dirty. They clean it, but it is an old and dirty building. Something wacky was going on with the heat and cooling. It got so hot in my room I felt as if I was in a sauna. Then it got so cold in the room.There is so much more of the details I could share, but lets suffice it to say that I will never go back to this hospital nor will I ever suggest that anyone go there.

My 90-yr old Aunt with dementia was kept in ER for 36 hours. The only way anything got done was for me to scream - not my usual way of handling situations. This hospital should not be a Trauma 2 hospital

I had my gallbladder removed here the surgery doctor was great the only thing I didnt like was the residents trying to put a iv in my arm he was moving the needle everywhere in my arm luckily I have a decent tolerance for pain their was blood everywhere once he finally found my vain my vain was stinging he had to take it out I was In a lot of pain their all I have to say is Dont let the residents do to much with you if your having major surgery also I didnt like the separate shower was somewhere in the hallway we had to share it with everybody on the floor I think thats horrible the nurses are lazy Dont like you calling them to much breakfast is OK but lunch dinner your better off not eating lol
The worst hospital in NYC, a man died in the waiting room, and since his death services havent improved. The staff is uncaring and incompetent you have to be somewhat educated on your illness or your at the mercy of its ruthless staff.

I had a VERY bad infection growing and they gave me Xray and Catscan just to tell me all was well, being under that impression tge infection got so BAD it ate away at my joint where Montifiore spotted 4days later and i had to undergo 2 surgeries in same spot. Never coming here again and that was my first visit.
Horrible experience. Came with extreme pain, wait 2 hrs I started crying and a nurse gave me a pill which caused me stomach pain since it was empty. Walk out after 3hrs of being in real pain without a doctor see Me.
No idea how this ER is even opened. The worst service any human being can get. If you’re in pain or need immediate assistance please disuade from going there. I went in yesterday (Wednesday night) and it took at least 3-4 hours for them to call me/examine me. The place was total chaos, no structure and definitely NEVER EVER will be going back. “This doctor” was going to perform a GYN, told me to take off everything below the waist and just left me in the room for almost an hr, alone and NALED. HELL NO! How uncomfortable can it get?
I was a very bad experience. I was there because i my stomach was hurting come to find out that i needed surgery . When an ignorant nurse put in my iv blood leaked ALL over the place and then a couple hours later they sent me home after i told them i still wasnt feeling good. I came back less than 12 hours because of the pain and they mess up my iv twice. The only good thing was the nurses. The worst ever!!!!!!!!!
Ive been going to this hospital for many years and my parents also....from cancer on and always, always, always my family and I have been treated kind and respectful. their are a lot of homeless people that go there but bendito where can they go. its sad to see them but thank God for St Barnabas hospital that takes them in no matter what! keep up the good work. more hospitals should care about the homeless, helpless also
THIS PLACE TREATED ME VERY GOOD AS A BIPOLAR PATIENT. I STAYED FOR A MONTH I WISH THEY HAD GROUPS AND EXERCISES. THEY GIVE YOU SANDWICH AND PIZZA ON THURSDAYS. GRAT NURSES AND DOCTORS, CLOSE TO HOME IN BRONX.
My exsperience was horrible. I dont recommend this hospital at all I believe we all have hurd bad things but I thought within time they will upgrade care more for patients sins they do have a high postion wear a uniform not for fun but to saves life etc. Maybe the hospital just needs to get shut down. This was a scary threatning moment to my life and my daughter. I went in to the emergency in extremely high pain (walking funny) because as a mom I new it was coming my baby was coming . The nurse I had that evening had a nasty attitude and was no help what so ever who ever is in charge of St.Barnabas is not on top of their staffs and the whole health team. My point is the DR. Sent me back home in extreme pain they couldnt call me a cab they made exit the longest way out . The only reason i picked this hospital to give birth was because of the jacuzzi and i wanted to try it out instead they sent me home 2hours later the baby came out in my house . I basically had a home delivery . Telling nurses and Dr. Something isint right you just cant discharge me i went back to the bed to lay down something wasent right but the nurse comes you gotta get up we discharge you already. Like what? Are you serious .. Very disapointed and dont recommend it at all!

Gave birth there, and have been in the pediatric ER several times. They can get swamped, but the Doctors themselves are very caring with good bedside manner.

Staff dont care, went in there because I was getting an asthma attack, first I had to fill out a form then wait to be registered, then wait to see the nurse to determine if I was indeed having an asthma attack, then they take you inside and you have to wait another 25 min yo receive your first tretment, never in my life will go to this hospital for any reason, never been to a hospital were you have to wait when you have asthma.

And here I could see the difference between the staff members who came here for another day at work, and the staff members who came to help people and to save life. It is all about the attitude. 5 Stars to those who honestly want to help, 1 star to the staff who count the seconds to go home.
My father was admitted there and when my mother informed the nurses that he was complaining of feeling more pain and discomfort around his whole body they totally ignored them for up to 30 minutes. By the time that the nurse came my father was unresponsive and it took 20 minutes for him to wake up. They did not know why this happened or what they were doing. The nurses and the doctors do not know how to comunicate to each other in following up with a patient.There is miss communication and lack of responsibility on both doctors and nurses. One thing is for sure and that is that wether you come out of that hospital alive or dead the doctors and the nurses will still get their pay check. So, if you have a voice you must use it to complain when things go wrong there and make sure that these doctors and nurses listen because otherwise they do not care. Sick patients need to be treated with respect and great quality of care in a diligent manner. If you are a health professional in that hospital, were is the love of consideration that you should have towards the sick people? This hospital needs to change for the better every day! Shame on the President, administration, doctors and nurses for doing a terrible mediocre job!!! If you are sick do not go to this hospital or any hospital that is mediocre. Just get up and leave because that is your right. You do not have to be in that hospital just because the ambulance took you there first. Complain about your situation and demand better care or just pick up and walk out to another hospital that will take care of you the way that you need to be treated. Patients have rights. Know your rights as a patient. Remember the hospital is there to serve you and the community.

Horrible got hit by a car on Jerome Ave . Was sent here because it was the closest hospital waited 4 hours and then started freaking out nobody checks on you or is even around . Started to demand results or help or some type of diagnoses got so angry ripped everything off of me and walked out nobody even cared. Had to go to a different hospital for MRI and x-rays . I told them Id rather die outside in the street than ever go back to a place with non- existent help.

Been waiting 5 1/2 hours for testing results and discharge it almost 5am been here since 10pm. The doctors didnt ask or look for my niece until I asked for her discharge papers. They had no concern. Her blood pressure was extremely low she shouldve had an iv, when my cousin realized thats when they decided to put an iv after almost 3 hours she was there.
This is the worst experience I’ve ever had EVER in any hospital. I checked in to the ER a little before 11pm and I waited there until after 7:30am and still wasn’t seen by a doctor. 8 hours and 30 minutes is way too long to be in the emergency room! I went straight from my international flight home to their ER because both of my feet were swollen and looked like balloons, and I was worried I either caught something or had a severe allergic reaction to something. From the time I was there the swelling moved not only from my feet but to my legs as well. I even developed a rash! And yet, nothing! I had to repeat my condition to 4 different people and still nobody took me to the back for a checkup. I even had a nurse walk by and comment on how bad my feet were, and still nothing... I finally left at 7:30am because I knew City MD would be opening soon. I went there and was immediately treated, they sent me to Montefiore hospital to get a Stat Ultrasound done because they were worried I had a blood clot. City MD and Montefiore were both amazing!! They actually showed they cared what happened to me. I was a person to them. Because of the lack of professionalism and caring shown to me by St. Barnabas hospital, I will never willingly step foot back there again, and I will tell my friends to choose another hospital instead, preferably Montefiore!!!
Underated because of its location, but is very accomplised, and has some great staff, from directors to janitorial.

Worst hospital ever. My mother has been there for four months. In and out of ICU. Multiple infections due to lack of care and left for days with wounds leaking because the one nurse who can change her bandages is unavailable! How can a hospital have only one person who can change a dressing. If you are poor and have Medicare or Medicaid you are not worth their time.
It seems unreal that in 3 years the quality of St. Barnabas Hospital had receded 20 years. The condition of the hospital is detrimental, including the patients care. Staffs are just uncaring, unintetested, nurses and doctors as well. The seven hours that took to be seen by a doctor was very sad and painful. It seems that I will be saying good bye to a hospital that I had once loved so much. I am so sorry for the community.

Important, read all of this post: security here attacked me and forced me to stay in the hospital and checked me into psychiatric inpatient when i showed up into the emergency room with glass shards in my feet.. the ambulance driver falsified his reports... they are a bunch of losers... also all of the staff have english as their second language, yell HUH? in a weirdly annoying way, and the psychiatric doctor who is a short woman is seriously dumb and condescending. check out my freaking youtube. i would not voluntarily do business with these individuals and i suggest anybody to whom this message applies files a civil suit as well as complaints to the appropriate medical authorities. again, their security staff are obviously former violent offenders or perhaps unhinged vets, and committed physical crimes against me. also, they stole my phone and lost it.

Slammed my finger so hard my nail accumulated blood under it and my finger was palpitating. Couldnt write since it was my dominant hand, and was offered no help to fill out registration paper. Had to register since it was my first time there and took their time even though they saw that I was in pain. Sat down got called to triage, nurse took vitals AFTER helping a coworker make a dramatic scene about not being able to take off her own bandages from blood being drawn (there were about 3 other nurses available to help her). Sat down again for a couple more minutes and was called again. The different nurse was preparing to to take my vitals again, when I told her that it was already done. Had to wait for the triage once again. Told a different nurse I would like pain killers since my finger was hurting. She said ok, and told me there were 11 in front of me. I was willing to wait. I started getting upset when it took her about 30 minutes before I reminded her about the pills. Asked registration if I was billed yet so that I could walk out and they told me to fake cry so I could be attended. I walked out once I was given the pills and a fresh ice pack. Not worth it. By the way there was a guy who was there way before me and when he confronted the stuff about newcomers going in before him, the triage lady said that hes got 3 more people in front of him and that he should just wait even if newcomers were going before him. Ridiculous.......

Was forced to give birth here because it was the closest hospital to my house and baby was coming FAST. Absolutely horrible experience. 1) The room was filthy and in order to shower I had to share a PUBLIC bathroom with all of the other ladies on the floor 2) If God forbid there was an emergency the nurses move like snails AND if you ask them for anything they act like it comes out of their pockets 3) When they drew blood from my daughters foot they bruised her whole foot going up to her ankle. God knows how rough that nurse was. And to top it off theyre sending me a bill for 2,000$ when I have INSURANCE that covers it all. Never again, worst experience ever.
Horrible. When i arrived with my mother pregnant and bleeding they just sit her down in a regular chair for like 2 hours. Then, when she finallay got a bed we had to wait for like 8 hours just to get a sonography. Nurses were slow as hell and personel was careless.

My son was at the emergency room this morning. He informed the nurse he had to use the restroom. The nurse roll her eyes at him for asking to use the restroom. That was totally unprofessional. I know New Yorkers has a tendency to be rude. However, if a person shows up sick or simply shows up for whatever reason. A person should not be treated disrespectful. Also, during that time, a security guard was cursing patients. All of the above is truly unprofessional and disrespectful. Such actions should never be tolerated when dealing with sickly people or the public. These are people that truly hates their job and should be looking for another job.
This is a absolutely TRASH HOSPITAL they do not have no medical room to examine children’s is super dirty, I took my son with high fever vomiting and running nose, they didn’t done no type of blood test or influenza test to check on my 3 year old son. All they did was gave him some medication to bring the fever down. And they send me home with a 99.9 fever on my child, but yes they did diagnose him with the influenza without testing him. They main entrance looks like a place for homeless with all those drug addicts and bums sleeping in there. This is ridiculous that NYC has those type of hospital
Their billing department must have incompetent illiterate workers or they use a horrible billing company because on 2 occurrences theyve sent me bills on services my insurance covered AND paid for. INCOMPETENT!! And my billing problems seems to have been resolved...almost 2 years later.

I hope you get a complete overhaul of your facility and every poor excuse for a person gets fired. Did they not want to mess up their scrubs? Like seriously scrubs are meant to get dirty. Now their faces and lack of action will forever be circulating the internet.
Do not go unless you want to die. i had a severe yeast infection with alot of swelling and burning it was at a 10. They wanted me to wait 2 hours on top of the 2 i waited for triave with no medication. i couldnt take the pain i had to take a cab to montefiore hospital.
This place is trash straight up Trash never coming here again the food is bad the doctors don’t know what they are doing take me warning!!

Why were police just standing around watching Junior pass? Why didnt the nurses that passed in the surveillance video turn back and help him back to the hospital, or call them and tell them what was happening? Why did it take so long for help to arrive to Junior outside of the hospital? Why were the cops that were on scene not more involved in this incident; they shouldv tried. These are the people protecting our children?? These are people we are supposed to trust with out lives??
I just got out of SBH after 5 days for intyetnal bleeding. Started in the ER, went through endoscopy, radiology, ICU, and their regular observation wing. Each department was extremely professional, caring and compassionate. Every Dr., nurse and tech were superb at their job and because of them I got through my illness and was able to go home to my family. All my follow ups were set up by the staff and they fully met all my needs. When the ambulance came to get me that night my girlfriend was like nooooo. Not SBH. They are horiable. But I think my exsperiance there has even changed her mind. All the staff their were great. I dont have enough good things to say about them. My condition was life threightning and they did not stop until I was healed. Thank you to SBH and all its staff.

2022-03-04I am giving this location a 1 but they don’t even deserve it. I am from the neighborhood and I must say it is the worst hospital in the Bronx. The admitting department has a young girl that’s very unprofessional and very rude. My grandmother is admitted and wanted to know if I am her health proxy and she stated” well you should know if you filled it out “ with an attitude. Hopefully nothing happens to her mother or a love one. I am dealing with an elderly (grandmother) who is oriented and changes everything all the time. She kept transferring me to medical records and medical records kept transferring me back to this individual. Clearly no one in this hospital knows what they are doing. Sad part is that we have our loved ones in their hands. Please do not ever come to this hospital or have a family member go as well. Doctors here come out from graduate school very young and never knows anything. I wish this hospital can be closed down for good.

2022-05-20We went to Barnabas for labor and delivery. The staff was very pleasant and patient. I had doubts at first due to the low reviews, but they made us feel comfortable and ensured that our baby was safely delivered. We got our own private room for post-partum and it was spacious and clean. There was a sofa bed for visitors. Parking in the weekend is easy because their lot is largely empty. Parking in the weekdays is non-existent though. Overall, great experience!

2022-05-12Worst hospital experience I have ever had. Mind you, it is the ER but still...heinous attitudes from nurses. My girlfriend and I were struck by a vehicle in the crosswalk and they left us bloody, concussed, and waiting for hours. They dont even have but a few beds in the ER! There were people in beds in the hallway, moaning in pain and being ignored. I was sitting on the floor while my girlfriend had a hard plastic chair that someone scrounged up from another room. No apologies for the wait, lack of beds/seating, just a cold demeanor. Nobody there made me feel like they cared about us. They definitely were cracking jokes with each other the whole time tho! It was like an awful TV show except...real life.

2022-04-16Went to this hospital as a private paying patient to have a procedure done to save my life. instead of 2 infusion it turned out to be 5. When I got there the staff was nice but the care was questionable. they use a needle met to draw blood to give an iron infusion. When I complained about it I was told. At least we accommodated you. When I received my bill from blue cross/ blue shield it stated the hospital was paid 1,100 per treatment. The I received a call for the anesthesia department saying I owed another 5,000 dollars for an iron infusion. When I threaten to call CMS the calls stopped. The hospital is the worst hospital in the Bronx. The care is poor and the only reason I went there was to get the iron transfusion so that I can have my up coming surgery to help with heavy bleeding. if you can avoid it dont use this hospital at all.

2021-06-03Really impressed with the attention and care they are giving to the each and individual patients. I visited for my daughter ultrasound in emergency and really impressed with their services. Staff and doctors are very supportive plus environment is nice and clean.

They are taking wonderful care of my sister and the doctors are always available to answer any questions or concerns. My sister has been kept comfortable and all her needs met very quickly.

2022-04-11Its a shame that my mom is in the worst hospital ever. I attempted to call and the persons in patient information hung up the phone on me 8 times after I attempted to call. When I did get someone who was laughing and unprofessional she transferred me to a floor where the phone rang exactly 367 times and still no one picked up. For whoever is reading this, these people are our family not just a piggy bank for the hospital. I hope this never happens to you or your family. Montefiore or Einstein next time for sure. No dingy dirty old hospital for my family ever again.

2022-02-21ST. Barnabas saved my life. I survived a coma in the ICU for 21 days! The staff was exceptional. I travel from another county to get treated here. The staff is dedicated and interested in getting to the root of the problem. I am so grateful to them and will recommend them to everyone I know!❤️

2022-06-23I gave birth a month ago in this hospital..and let’s say at first I was quite skeptical of coming here..but I must say the nurses and doctors were very nice and attentive..!I loved all the nurses in maternity.. they were just sweet and made sure that I was comfortable and attended my needs..I was there for 3 days so I met quite a few nurses and doctors..and I can’t complain about none of them..I wish I can remember all their names but I must give a shout out to Dr.Downer who delivered my baby..!!Thank you and your team for doing such an amazing job and being gentle with me..!I even brought a doula with me which made all the experience even better and also my partner..!It really makes a difference the people around you..thank god I had a good support system..!

2022-06-13Doctors nurses are heroes the staff is very courteous and compassion. The premises is always clean and the doctors surgeon is always OnPoint. They do an outstanding job I am very pleased.
