Anywhere they go, the East Province Dominicans, bring great blessings with them. Very happy to see this church grow and become more and more beautiful.
Very friendly and accessible clergy. A spiritual safe haven for all. An excellent space for spontaneous prayer and meditation.
What a strange and disrespectful thing to say by the previous reviewer. One does not measure faith by the look of size of an alter. The church and the priest are prayerful and peaceful. Its one of my favorites in NYC.
Great parish! Priests are wonderful, community is warm and inviting. If you’re looking for a parish in the neighborhood, pay St. Joe’s a visit.
This place has delicious food on Saturday at 1:30pm only. Come early there is a long line. Very caring people volunteering here. ☺️

Grew up here! Grammar school was @27 Christopher St & annex high school around the corner from church on Waverly. Peaceful place.

2022-02-01I seldom attend the mass here, only, when I was in the vicinity and on time to hear mass.The church is always clean esp the restroom.The priests, always greet you with their ready smile and wish you safe, as always.Confession, is orderly and distanced to be seated while on wait.The choir was nice esp last Sunday, one of the choir’s soloist has a quality voice that would captivate you from attending mass in this church much often. Hope, she’s always there to join the choir. I am now her fan! The blending of their voices, though, only a few, were amazing! Keep going folks, you’ll be blessed serving the church and gain your credits from God.

2019-06-02Oldest Catholic Church in NYC. Feels very historic. You can sense that when it was built that Catholics were not many in NYC. And almost feel discrimination from other Christian religions.

2020-11-22Came a bit early. The pews are socially distanced and everyone wore a mask. It was well organized.

2021-01-11I love this church. I love the choir!! I feel so spiritually lifted every time I attend masses. I just recently discovered they have now a YouTube channel broadcasting live Sunday mass. Although it will not replace being there physically, the YouTube channel is the next best thing! Thank you! God Bless.

2016-12-31I havent been to many parishes but this is my most beloved so far. They have beautiful and quiet music, enlightening homilies, and charitable, knowledgable, peaceful priests who are indeed filled with life.

2021-03-04Perfect clergical staff for the college crowd.A girl in the choir ,Candace, sings like an angel. And you can hear the performance for only ten percent of your weekly salary.
