I got stuck with a flat tire on my way to a funeral and the guys at Stack’s were amazing. They came and towed my car right away, managed to find a new, matching tire, and changed it so quickly that I still made the wake. They were also very friendly and nice. I couldn’t recommend them more!
Everyone at Stacks was so nice and professional from booking the appointment to time of pick-up. While the car was up on the lift for a tire rotation and oil change, they inspected the overall underbody and informed us that the sway bar links needed replacing. Prices were fair, as well! Will definitely be using them again!
I brought my car in after blowing out a tire and T.J. matched up the tire with the ones already on the car since its all wheel drive and also notified me I was due an oil change. He offered a ride back and forth to my home and everything was done in a couple of hours and the car is running great. Thank You for the excellent and speedy service.
They are the best, hard to get an convenient appointment but I see why they are so busy, because they do good work. I am driving now with confidence, knowing my car was looked at by them, they told me what the car needed and assured me if these things were done I would be fine for some time with my vehicle
TJ and everyone at Stack’s Auto do a great job every time. They are so helpful when it comes to getting your car in for service and get your car back to you in great time. This is the only place I trust to bring my vehicle. 100% would recommend bringing your car to Stack’s Auto.
The staff at Stacks Auto continuously treats their customers with the upmost respect and honesty; traits which major dealership service centers and other commercialized mechanic locations severely lack these days. At Stacks, you will receive top notch honest diagnostics and professional services for your vehicle. If you’re tired of getting ripped off at dealerships and other commercialized mechanic shops, I strongly suggest you try this honest mom and pop style of service center. Go and see for yourself………
Ive been going to this place for years and Mr. Travelta always makes appearance.. They always a have celebrity walking in-and-out..and 🤣😂 But this place is amazing they do the job that gets your car what it needs. And theyre always friendly so definitely go to this place We basically know them like family so its just another part of family
I went to them they are very polite people, they gave me a loner .I didn’t have to bring my truck back once they fixed all my problems and now my truck feels brand new i also had a tracker installed and everything looks good they treated my truck with care and I definitely in the future will bring any of my cars to them they’re awesome !!
2 ND time I had my truck in for service, and I have to say they do a great job, they are pricey but you do get what you pay for, and in todays world that is rare, they made my truck feel new and its 14 years old, glad they were recommended to me by my neighbor, well worth the money, nice disposition too
We’ve been using stacks for 16 years all satisfying experiences. From the day I called for appointment I could see the dedication of the staff/ technicians No matter who you talk to all treat you like family and assuredly you’ll see for yourself! That your satisfaction is their priority Thanks TJ, Tom Jay & Staff The Liebold family!🚙
I was at this place with a flat tire on one of my ice cream truck. After a frustrating day on my end, it was nice to get a welcome smile. Better than that, these guys fixed my issue and did not even charge me any money for it. You think these things do not happen but they do. Thank you again for your help, professionalism and kindness!
Ok, I have been waiting to write this one up. I am a stickler for value, and service. In my own business, as well as the businesses I interact with.Let me start by saying T.J. and his crew saved me from a horrible situation. I had my truck in my regular shop for 4 weeks. They told me they could not figure out what the problem was. One point the told me it was a part Stacks Auto replaced a few weeks earlier.T.J. took the initiative and immediately told me he would tow, and repair the truck at no cost to honor his warranty. Upon receiving the truck they looked it over and in less than 1 billing hour figured it out, and fixed the issue.Unfortunately for me I had to pay for a tow, and the repair because it was not an issue with the warrantied part. I was happy to pay to have my truck back, and be on the road again. These guys have been the best interaction with an auto service company I have every found. Quick, percise, fair, and professional. I would recommend their services to any, and everyone. If there is an issue with your vehicle this is the first, and only shop you should contact. I was amazed at the service, and more then happy with the value. Time is money, dont waste your time with inferior shops. Trust the guys at Stacks Auto to do it right the first time and put you back on the road.Really, I was very impressed with both times I used them. They will be my go to from this point on. Thanks T.J., you have restored my faith in humanity. 😆
Once you go stacks, you cant go backs (to your old mechanic)! But seriously... Stacks is a top notch auto repair shop. Ive had a couple of different used cars and I cant even begin to explain how thorough they are over there (In a good way). TJ and Joe are great to deal with and the customer service there is awesome.
Having grown up in the area Ive been familiar with this location since it was Arties Gulf Station.Ive been a loyal customer here for years.TJ, Joe and the guys are total professionals!Extremely knowledgeable and if they dont know the answer they dont BS you. They find out what the problem is and offer you options and solutions.Yes, you do pay a price for premium service but thats expected when you look at what you are offered...Service Professionals that are trained and certified. Pick-up and drop off service, Loaner Cars, Fair Prices, Personal Service and follow up calls to make sure youre happy with the service they provided. If you want reliable service explained and broken down to you in language you can understand each and every step of the way by friends who have your best interest in mind, then this is your go to place! If you want to save a buck and go to your friends cousins brother-in-law who has a set of Snap-On tools... well I wish you all the best. For me, I go to the Pros at Stacks and theyve never let me down.
Had a problem with my motorcycle because of where Stacks mounted the inspection sticker. The sticker actually broke the seal of the fork when the bike bounced up and down from a pot hole, causing fork oil to leak all over the front end of the bike. Stacks took part ownership of this error, and sent me a check for half of the repair. I was satisfied with how they handled this situation
Great personal service. Definitely a go too for your automotive needs. Realistic completion times on service repairs and maintenance. Reasonable pricing. T.J. is a great as well as all the other staff. Any point of contact I have reached has always represented the business professionally and has given objective and informative advice...
Consistently impressed with the service at Stacks! Brought my car to the dealer and was quoted at 3000$ to get car to condition that would pass inspection. Decided to get 2nd opinion. Stacks told me the car is fine just needs brake light repaired. What?!? Why did i even consider going elsewhere?!?! The Staff at Stacks is very reliable, friendly, considerate, accommodating, and professional. They also are very convenient as they use text messages also!
This mechanic failed both of my cars when I took for the state inspection.Somewhat new cars in great condition. Failed one for needing coolant and new wipers.(rediculous) Previous to state inspection that is why I took it there /it was all working fine. My other car they failed for needing brakes and tried to charge 2/3rds more than 2 other mechanics charge. I will never go there again. These guys know how to make their money.Esp when you are backed into a corner. Dont let them take yours.
I have been going to Stacks for more than ten years to have my car serviced. I have always been very satisfied with the work performed on my car and I appreciate that they tell me what services my car will need the next time I go there. There are so many dishonest car service places on Long Island and I am glad I found one that is honest.
Stacks has been my Top Choice mechanic for over 20 years. I cannot say enough fabulous praises about Tom, TJ, and Joe along with their experienced team of mechanics! Reliable, dependable, trustworthy, and educated in their field. Convenient shop hours along with reasonable rates, discount coupons offered, local shuttle service to your office, I highly recommend! Friendly service always with smiles. A favorite work establishment in our community.
Referred to this shop by my chiropractor. They did an awesome job fixing my Infiniti SUV alarm/horn situation that I brought in my 07 mustang and these guys got my 2 babies in A++++++ status. Prices are reasonable and they offer financial services for cost that may have not been in your budget. I would recommend if you have a high end vehicle that needs some service with excellent prices and great caring staff and customer service , this is where you need to go!
Could not be more happy with the service I received at Stacks! I found them this summer when I had a nail in my tire, and even though they were busy and it was the end of the day, they still took the time to get it taken care of right on the spot for me! I was able to enjoy the rest of my weekend worry free. I recently took my car in for an overdue oil change an inspection and was so excited to learn that they have a complimentary drop off service around town, too! Car repair made stress free! I wish I had found these guys years ago when I had older cars which were constantly breaking down on me! See you next time for an oil change. Thank you for being so nice!
My neighbors have been using Stacks Auto Service for years and have always spoke highly of its staff and service. My Mercury mountaineer went into fail safe mode and I had it serviced at Stacks Auto. The price for the repair was fair and done in a timely manner. The staff drove me home and picked me up when the repair was completed.Ive found them to be the place to go in my local area! When you stop in ask for TJ!
You get what you pay for. Thats the bottom line. Most people look for three things when making an investment. Finest quality, best service and the lowest price. There isnt a business out there that can provide all 3! These guys arent the lowest priced mechanics out there. Guess what, they do offer the best service and quality. That won me over. Thanks, TJ, Joe and Tom. Plus, they know me by name! Keep up the great work!
I’ve been exclusively going to Stacks for over 10 years and have sent numerous friends and family there as well. They were all so happy to find them. They are the nicest guys you will meet. More importantly, they are honest and have very competitive pricing. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.
I just had my engine light come on a few weeks ago. They found some issues, considering the car has 95,000 miles on it. Well the cost was up high but to be expected due to the work involved. Tom was able to help me out where ever he could on the cost. The shop is great. I never had to bring it back after any repair. The staff is also friendly and knowledgeable. Tom is the best when it comes to car repairs. I have never in my life found a repair shop like this. All around great service. Thanks to everyone who worked on my car this last visit! Thanks Tom for helping me out!
Stacks is run by professional, courteous and all around nice guys. They take the time to explain what theyve found and what needs to be done to fix it. My Mustang has over 167,000 miles on it and I know with these guys I am good for over 200,000. I know my car is in good hands when I bring it to them! Wouldnt take it anywhere else!
I was looking for a local honest car mechanic. Was Recommended to Stacks and now I know why.I Spoke with Tom on the phone who was very helpful and met TJ who was upfront and honest and respectful.I brought my car to get my front hubs fixed and they did a great job. I would definitely recommend them.
Another positive experience with the service recently received at Stacks in North Babylon. Customer service, communication, and friendliness is exceptionally good here, and TJ has been most helpful on both occasions that Ive used this shops services. The parking lot here is never less than full with cars getting or scheduled for service, and this volume of business does more than suggest that Stacks is doing something right!
Recently moved into the neighborhood and found myself at Stacks. The service is unbelievable. Every employee I encountered was positive, kind, knowledgeable, prompt and very helpful towards me. And any issue with my car is tended to in a timely manner. Its good to know theres a quality auto service around the block!
Great service so good I can’t tell you what they do for me in lieu of them getting so busy that I have to wait. Seriously, great service, more than accommodating to any need that you have in order to not disrupt your day while they service your car. Most of all, most honest guys out there. Tom, TJ and Joe will all take care of you.
Ive had two experiences with stacks so far.First when we first moved in my wife got a nail in her tire. Since they are located close to us we drove the car up there to get a plug put in. They did the plug free of charge and this let me know the type of people I was dealing with. After being a lifelong chain mechanic user (Mavis etc) I decided based on my first experience to bring my 2013 Scion XB there for maintenance. I knew my car needed some work and TJ broke down exactly what needed to get done and what immediately needed to be addressed. He also informed me of the things I could do myself (air filters, battery). I had them replace front rotors and brakes. In terms of price it was about 50 bucks more than a chain auto store. HOWEVER, this 50 dollar fee is a small price to pay when it comes to a few things. 1. They are a local business 2. I will be dealing with the same people Everytime I go 3. Being a local business its in their best interest to do good work as bad work spreads like wildfire.Having a good LOCAL mechanic is super important and being confident in them is crucial.
My experience with Stacks has been nothing short of excellent. They are an extremely knowledgeable and experienced staff. My husband and I have always and only taken our cars there and never have to bring them back. We recommend Stacks to all of our friends and family and everyone that has gone to them has been very happy as well. Theyre the best!
I have to say that each and every time I’ve taken my vehicle to Stack’s, I never have to worry about being taken advantage of. Not only am I confident that I won’t be taken advantage of, I am confident that the work will be done correctly. Having trust in any mechanic or repair shop is important and I absolutely put my trust into Stack’s.
Very Overpriced - This shop was recommended to me by a friend who informed me that the prices were a little on the high side, but she trusted their workmanship. A little on the high side is an understatement as I was charged over $900 for front and back brakes... when I received the bill and questioned the $450 fees for labor, my complaints seem to ring on deaf ears. They dont seem to mind that a brand new customer feels over charged and taken advantage of... rather go to PEP boys or even the dealer would be less expensive. Didnt want to give any stars, but the review wont post unless you give at least one...
Customer Service and politeness earns an A+... but VERY expensive. Needed an inspection and asked them to diagnose a rough idle. They indicated engine mounts were broken (which I believe) and needed to be changed. $500 for parts and labor. They charged me $80 a piece for the mounts (2), which run about $20 each, and they charged $160 labor each to change them. These were not the primary mounts, rather support brackets. Three bolts each, and no components in the way...easy access. Should have taken any competent mechanic about 20 minutes each TOPS (that includes the diagnostic time). $160 labor for 20 minutes of work seems very expensive to me. I understand parts mark up and having to keep the lights on, and pay staff, etc... but I feel a little more moderation is needed. As an aside, The rough idle persisted, and I brought it back... turns out the Main Motor mount needed to be replaced also, which is MUCH more difficult to change. Surprisingly, they only wanted to charge me $120 labor this time to change it (I guess they felt bad they hosed me on the first go-round). I ended up changing the main mount myself, took me about an hour.
I needed major work done on a 9 year old Mercedes. TJ walked me through every detail and explained it all. He even showed me the part that needed to be replaced and explained why it wasnt working. Super nice guy and honest, which is why I would recommend them. And the car runs like new!
ABSOLUTELY the only place I trust with our cars. Extremely professional, courteous and honest. TJ, Joe, Tom and everyone else make you feel like family not just a customer. Wishing many more years of success!!! The work is what you need nothing more and is done with great care. Thank you again Stacks!!!
If you are looking for a place that you can trust .with a kind face and mechanics who have endless knowledge. on the right way to fix your ride in a timely manor the first time.like the old garages. look no further your search has ended .tom and tj will make you feel like family .with a hot cup of coffee and a courtesy ride to get you where you have to be while they repair your ride.
My 2013 Chrysler 300C broke down had to have it towed to my local shop Stacks Auto. Have not been able to use them because with new car warranty I had to bring it to dealer but now on extended warranty I can bring it to any shop.Myself and family been with Tom for 25 years glad to be back. They called warranty company had work covered they gave me a loaner car. Repair was completed next day just such a pleasure to be with someone you can trust 100 % Thanks guys
Customer service need to be improved! First off, show people a little courtesy and respect. I came here a few weeks back and was on a new job and havent had anything to eat since 7 in the morning. When I asked may I grab 2 or 3 bags of small chips and I was even willing to pay like 50 cents for all three, I was told NO YOU MAY ONLY HAVE ONE! with such a snobbish tone. Secondly, you automatically tell me all four tires need to be replaced without further inspection, without any help or suggestions.Word of advice, Youre a mechanic so try to solve solutions rather than get rid of customers you dont seem to like. Bad customer service equals low to no clientele which means your business fall off the grid.
So after taking my car to several shops an not getting the problem fixed I finally took it to stacks were i met Tj and Joe. They helped me get a ride home an my car problem was finally figured out in a few hours. So it turned out to be an idle air control valve Joe was able to explain to me thats why my vehicle was stalling while idling. Thank you guys for everything.
There isnt enough space in this review section to tell you how GREAT this shop is. Spoke with TJ on initial call and within a minute(literally)...he made Stacks Auto stand out amongst the rest. His attitude was just different. He came across as honest, informative, and respectful, which only set the tone for the entire experience. Whether you are speaking to the receptionist, or the owner...you will feel like they care because they actually do. THANKS AGAIN STACKS..I WILL SEE YOU SOON!
Mechanics are a dime a dozen. Some good some bad, and then there are the ones who provide top notch service and honesty. Stack’s Auto on Deer Park Road might not be large, but you will leave there satisfied. If they say it’s broke, then it’s broke. No bait and switch here, just honest mechanics who know autos.
Stacks auto is a one of kind mechanic shop . They treat you with respect ,kindness , not to mention free coffee !They may be a small place but they have a lot at disposal to the customer . Want to drop off your car at night cause your busy tomorrow ? They got you covered !Need a ride back home and you’re in neighborhood courtesy rides at your service !!Not local and need a car to get back home ??They’ll give a loaner car that’ll get the job done . I had it for over two days and they have no problem with that .Their prices are fair but on a little bit on the high side . But you can’t put a price on peace of mind , and that’s what these guys give you !- Jessie Ralda
I had recently moved into the neighborhood and left my car here to diagnose a minor steering vibration at about 60 mph. Stacks called me an hour later to tell me that my car required a $2200 repair. They explained that my tie rod needed to be replaced, but both are required to be replaced at the same time, the car then needs an alignment, and that the two front tires were ruined because of the bad tie rod. Somehow they felt justified that this estimate was reasonable. Having some experience in auto repair, l was extremely sceptical of their quote. I paid Stacks for the diagnosis then drove the car to my regular mechanic in Massapequa. My mechanic informed me that one tie rod was indeed worn but not in need of immediate replacement. He was able to make a small adjustment to eliminate the vibration and refused to accept payment for doing so. He also confirmed that the suspension was not out of alignment and that the tires did not need to be replaced. I then vowed to remain faithful to my old mechanic and never returned to Stacks. The End.
Stopped using Stacks about two years ago for a few reasons. One, they over charge for EVERYTHING. Any time I brought my car there it was $1,000. Second, i brought my car in for an inspection and before I could make it down a few blocks, there was a huge rattling noise. Brought it back the next day and something needed to be fixed, $800. Anytime Ive brought my car there, something else always happens to break to keep me coming back even if it was something I fixed a year prior. The only reason for the two stars is that they offer a service in which they drive you.
I visited stacks for state inspection and minor noise problem in my car. They said like have to change steering fluid and other few other things and charged me $1,300 /-. though it was not solved the problem instead it was making lot of noise. I called them in the next day and they said like they have changed the fluid, it will take couple of days to solve the noise problem. I waited for 2 weeks without any luck !. I took the car again to the service center. Again they are making big list with an estimate of $600 !!. I am not sure if i can trust these guys again !.I went to service center purely based on online review and had very bad experience with lot of money loss. i have a feeling like these guys are manipulating online reviews. Please be aware and investigate before step in !!!
Horrible, they just prey on people here. I heard the manager threatening to break some guys legs over the phone while I was ignored by TJ as customers walked in and were helped before me. When I was finally acknowledged, I waited a few minutes for my state inspection which they failed, and instead of giving me the list of failures and a state failure sheet, they just said they were refusing the inspection. When I got upset, the guy who had threatened to break someones legs over the phone prior tries to tell me that they care about my safety so theyre refusing my inspection, without providing me a failure sheet and list of failures. This place used to have a good reputation, but this explains why Ive had so many people tell me not to go there. Point made.
My roommate and I have been very weary of this place ever since we moved to North Babylon. For me personally, I had an issue with my battery dying. I brought my car there, spoke with TJ and they put a new battery in but they also ripped out my radio and said that was a problem. So, I have no radio in my car. Thanks for that but at least my battery was working. Then, my power steering went and my battery died again about 3 months later.I was told it was an issue with my alternator and my battery. So, I brought my car to stacks and TJ quoted me $1,080!!! Just to put in a new alternator and battery. I thought this a ridiculous quote and they were overcharging me for “labor” to the tune of something like $475.So, the next day I called back and asked TJ if he could do any better cause I told him I could find OEM non-remanufacured alternators online for way cheap than they were charging me. Then, he told me i could buy it and give it to them but there’s going to be a 20% fee. Why? I told TJ this and he quickly changed the price to $850. This quote isn’t horrible but I knew they were ripping me somehow and I could get a better deal. The labor cost they were charging is insanely high still. The way they tell you they always tell you their the “honest guys” and want to try to work with you... I just don’t believe. After going from $1,080 to $850 so quickly proves that to me. So I had AAA pick up my car from Stacks to go to another place. But the driver offered their services for $785 total for everything. Plus, they gave me a 3 year warranty on everything so if anything goes wrong, I just bring it back and they’ll fix it free. Stacks did not offer this to me.Thank you AAA for hooking it up. They even dropped me off back home while my car was being worked on. I dropped off my car around 2pm. They gave me a lift back home and then drove my car back to me at 7pm. Parked it in my parking spot, and it ready to roll. Also, L.I. Auto in Lindenhurst gave me a quote for $725 so if you’re looking to get an “honest” quote, get yourself a quote from LI Auto or if you have AAA, get it from them. Either way, you’ll thank me for it.Hey Tom,REPLYING TO YOUR RESPONSE:I greatly appreciate the reply. Let me explain. You didn’t hear this on the phone recording because it was told to me in person. When I brought up the fact that I could find a cheaper part to TJ for you guys to put in, he told me you have a policy for a 20% up charge if I did that. Also, I put my radio back in myself and there hasn’t been any problems since AAA put in a new alternator and battery. Finally, I have not once received a phone call from you about this. So if you would like to dust this or for me to explain what happened, feel free to reach out to me. I like how you respond back to your reviews and hope we can come to a conclusion. Please give me a call. You have my number.

Just got a Scion FRS-Not even a month old and I had to bring it to these guys on two separate occasions. One for a steering wheel fix (long story, an error due on my part lol) and again for patching up two of my tires. They seriously did me a huge favor today! I really trust these guys with my car. Will be stopping by again in the future to have my summer and winter tires put on. :)

2022-04-28I have been using Stacks Auto Service for three years now and have always been a satisfied customer. I have found the staff to be honest, courteous, and knowledgeable. They always go the extra step to provide a fair and honest estimate of the cost of repairs as well as a reasonable estimate of the time it takes to complete the job. I have had various jobs completed from tune up to replacing power window motors and no job is too big or too small for them to perform. For these reasons I rate Stacks a perfect 10.

2022-06-27On the way to work this morning, I blew a tire on Sunrise Hwy. While waiting for my insurance company’s roadside assistance to come to put on a donut, I started searching Google for nearby tire shops since I know I have a long day of work and family obligations ahead of me, and riding on a donut was not a safe option. Thankfully, I came across Stack’s Auto Service as a nearby location to where I was. I spoke with TJ, and he assured me that he could replace the tire. When I pulled into the parking lot, he came out to meet me. He not only had my tire replaced in record time, but he even fit me in for an oil change that I was way overdue for. He answered all of my questions, provided a clear estimate ahead of time for the work, and had my car back on the road super fast so I could get to work. I’m thankful to have found a service center with professional mechanics who treat customers like family, and all with reasonable prices.

2022-03-17Ive been going to the dealer for general maintenance for years until they damaged my car during a routine windshield wiper replacement. I found Stacks using Google and my experience with them has been awesome. Their prices are reasonable, their staff is knowledgeable and best of all they offer a car service to take u to and from the shop. I highly recommend them!

2022-05-09I called and spoke to TJ and Jake and both were very professional and courteous and welcoming me to the neighborhood. I also met the the auto technician Dean there as well. Everyone there is very kind professional and very trustworthy. I have no doubt in my mind that they will treat you with the same respect that they treated me. I will be coming back again for more service as my vehicles require it .Thank you Stacks

2022-04-30This is a great place to have your car serviced. T. J. and the boys do high quality work with top-of- the-line parts. They do it in a timely manner and at a reasonable price. I’ve been using this place for fifteen years and never had an issue. Give them a try. You won’t regret it. Thanks

2022-03-07Excellent customer service, communication and honesty. Was referred by family, so being it was my fist time there they took all prior paperwork I had for work done to my vehicle and went over it with me and kept for their records. They did the work I asked of them to do and checked over my entire car for me. Price was very fair. Ill definitely be using this place for my vehicle and I highly recommend them.

2022-03-30TJ is always a pleasure to deal with. When I bring my car in, I know I’m bringing it to a hard working honest mechanic who even goes so far to give me a loaner while my car is serviced. Who even does that anymore? I’ve recommended them to a few people, and now they take their cars there regularly too. Even had them do service on my bosses new Mercedes Benz. Couldn’t be happier with their service.
