Staples in other cities:
Uptown SodaStream owners rejoice. You can score refill cannisters here, and they open up at 7am! I was allowed to refill four cannisters when I last visited (Thursday AM of 3/11/2021), which was awesome! And they had the printer ink I needed too as well as markers. And they give you a $2 credit for the crazy expensive ink cartridges you turn in.
VERY BAD SERVICE! I was told that my document was going to be ready in the end of the day, but when I called, it got delayed to the next day. I called again the next day, and they postponed over and over again! The girl who works in the printing section was super rude to me! She interrupted my conversation and mumble behind me!!!Also, they don’t even have that much options of binding or paper types! They don’t even bother to apologize! they just don’t care about their costumer’s satisfaction.Seriously, I was tricked by the big brand name that ‘Staples’ offer! There’s a lot of smaller print shop that provide much better quality and professionalism!
Perks: Tons of great office items at decent prices. Some employees are pretty polite and helpful.Cons: Takes forever and a day to print something. That is, if the machines are even working properly. You can stand in front of the desk for help and employees will walk past you with no acknowledgement. A simple someone will be with you shortly, would suffice.Im going to guess its not a great place to work, but dont treat the customers like garbage. The lines are slow, and usually some people are wandering about. Some people however tell you the wrong aisle for an item, and wont even check.
Always some of the worst customer service. I work in the area and I use this Staples very frequently as it is the closest. Whether in phone or in person, the staff there are horrible. If you call, they keep on hold forever, they wont do as you ask (check if your pick up items are ready, check to make sure an item is in stock). When you do a 1 hour pick up they will give you wrong items or mix up the items. I understand that there is room for human error, but they need to step up their game from Im here to get a paycheck, to I may not like it but I actually have to WORK at my job.
A very unpleasant experience today at this store location by an insolvent and disrespectful cashier at the front. And I have observed him act indignantly with other customers there in the past. But, even though I tried to avoid him by going to another cashier at the register, he still managed to interfere with my good interaction with that cashier, and even bolded asserted that one else would be ringing me up there today, despite my having patronized that store for sevearal years with large purchases for my small business. Anyway, one of the managers stepped in and resolved the situation, which was still troubling. Perhaps, someone should train him better before he does any more customer-facing task. Thank you.
8/24/18 -8:30AM...Young lady behind the counter at the printing section was way too bothered to actually address me when I came to the counter. Her phone was more important than actually giving me eye contact when I said hello.. taking the time to explain the process of getting my resume printed seemed to be too much of a hassle for her. Instead of offering an alternative she moved on to go do anything else other than help me. When I originally paid for the res paper she never gave me my change. Then when I asked for my money back she hadn’t even cared to actually make sure she’d given me change back.
Inconsiderate (lazy?) worker - I called the Staples located at 4320 Broadway at 7:39pm...approximately twenty minutes before closing. He left me on hold until 8:10...ten minutes after closing...and never came back to the phone. I had no choice but to hang up without having the ability to call back since the store was closed....this is a game that is very well know my man!! I wanted to check on a specific item before coming to the store at 7:00am the next morning before I went to work. Now I will never call or go to this store again! I see now why the store got a rating of only 3 stars! The customer service is not the greatest!
I am giving this review two stars instead of one because a couple of the literally six people I needed to deal with to make my purchase where very nice and competent. Everything began fine as an associate was able to locate a printer cartridge and jumpstick without incident. However, I also needed to pick up a piece of hardware that they keep locked in the back and thats when the Keystone Kops routine began. I had a picture and name of the product on my phone, which was passed around to at least four people before someone would go in the back to get it. First time, after waiting for five minutes, the associate comes back, wrong item. I think the manager was next to go back, and after waiting another five minutes or so, they bring out the the correct item but inexplicably, I had to wait another five minutes before they would actually hand it over to me. Mind you, there were more employees than customers at the store at this point and yet they staff seemed completely overwhelmed, hence why it took over 20 minutes to complete my purchase from start to finish. I can only imagine what its like when its busy. Anyway, Ill get to the conclusion: When I got home and opened the box, it was missing like two main components. So now I have to go back and return it, which will no doubt be an ordeal involving multiple employee interactions, confusion and waiting.Reading the other reviews, this is a place you absolutely want to avoid unless its an emergency.
Great place to get items, especially for students. Can be a bit pricey but it’s all about the timing. Staff, from my own experience have been nice & attentive. There can be huge lines sometimes, especially during the times for kids to go back to school. Other than that, pretty good service!
Stores always well stocked staff is always very friendly and very helpful never have an issue with any items that are not cant find clearance Irish section is great and theyre checkers are amazing find another store in this area and Ill beat you there youll never find one have fun and thanks Staples wait a minute but nobody even uses Staples anymore mostly thumbtacks and no paper oh well but thanks Staples
Avoid if you can. I agree with all the other reviews of terrible service, long lines, and generally leaving frustrated each time. My favorite example is needing a ream of 11x17 paper cut to 10x13. I asked how much it would cost. This usually takes about 90 seconds to complete. The lady said $2000. What !!!!! To cut paper ? I said I had to speak to the manger. After about 5 minutes of discussion the manager finally said I can make you a deal and do this for you for $800. I just said no..... thanks for your help. Took the subway to another print shop near by and got it done for $8. See it is two dollars per cut. I had 500 pages (cut both vertical and horizontal) Thus the $2000 quote. What I could not get them to understand is the super big industrial cutting machine they have accepts more than one page at a time. The other print store simply put in 250 pages, made two cuts and boom $8.
Would give zero stars . The WORST customer service in the printing/photocopying spot. hoping the staff would actually care I was wrong I Arrive at desk while staff ignore me until theyve finished their own chit chat . Then I did my printing charged me 73 dollars when I finished I had to get my project binded it was 5 dollars but noooo they told me they weren’t doing no more binding being lazy because it was 4 something and the store closed at 6 that day . Binding only takes like 5 minutes but the ladies closed it at like 4:30 and charged my friend about 3:50 a 15 dollar more to get it by the same day If not she had to pick it up the next day . I’m very disappointed at the lack of respect and work these employees show although there were some nice employees the other ladies weren’t so nice
Really like this store. Very convenient for mailing packages (USPS and UPS!), even when just dropping off packages. Helpful staff. Also very nice for printing/binding/laminating things. And of course this is where we go to get our K-Cups for our Keurig coffeemaker when we run out :)They also do free recycling of electronics and you get money back when recycling printer ink cartridges.Bonus: This store is rarely busy. Almost feels like a quiet oasis.
I went over there with my friends to buy what we need for college and everything was nice. There was just a notebook from one that I bought 5 subjects 200p each and we asked one of the worked there is there were more and he said no. So we were looking for the other supplies there and when we came back to the same line of the notebook the same employed was putting the notebook that we asked him. So if you need something there ask the supervisor or to two or three of the employee. I almost when to another place for that notebook.
Waited approximately 15 minutes for a copy and print representative to help me place an order, various employees walked by and didnt asking if i needed help.Order was placed, after waiting weeks on this order i began to question why I still havent received my order. Turns out order was canceled, no information about the cancellation was ever given to me, no call, text, email. Rep over the phone says no notes are found as to why the order was canceled.Unbelievable…
Would give zero stars if it were possible. The WORST customer service in the printing/photocopying department. Unfortunately, this is the closest Staples to my home so every time I go, Im hoping that someone has trained the staff to deal with customers. Nope. IE: Arrive at desk while staff ignore me until theyve finished their own conversation. This has happened on almost every visit. iE #2 - printing not done correctly, or not at all...at which time i was told my order was going at the back of the line because they were too busy to prioritize it. What? No one cares, no one wants to be there, no one has pride in their work and why should they? No one is incentivizing them or enabling good practices with customers. Awful.
Really terrible store. The printing machines are glitchy and for some reason are not compatible with Apple products which, from a business stand point, makes no sense given the amount of people who have either a MacBook, an iPhone or an iPad. One of the machines is always out of service as well. The staff can be friendly when they decide they want to be. Severely understaffed, however. There only seems to be two people on the floor at any given time and only one person behind the Copy and Print counter and that person is overwhelmed. Overall, a very poor experience. Will try my hardest to go to other locations in Manhattan.
Terrible ! I went there to get some business cards printed , no personnel was there ! I was told maybe some associate will be back in 2 hours! So i decided to order on line and come back for pick up: guess what , I call the store and I m just listening to music and advertising for more than 8 minutes!!!
The copy machine where you can print black and white pages from a USB for $.13 was broken. They only have one. When I asked how I could print my documents, the employees were rude and didnt told me to wait and use a computer. To print black and white from a computer, the charge is $.49 per page plus the time that you are on the computer cost money too. They dont even apologize for broken equipment or act like they care about the inconvenience.
The cashiers dont even know simple math... I bought a note book and gave the cashier (A girl) a dime more than the price because I didnt want all the change since the total was a few cents more that the three dollars , I wait for like 15 seconds, she cant figure out how much to give me! Im calmly say how much she needs to give me back since its easy math (Or so I thought) and she takes out her phone and does the math and still looks confused, finally she asks the cashier next to her and the other cashier responds to her (but shes looking at me) just give him the change if your too confused in the most rudest tone ever... Now Im carrying a boat load of change everywhere I go just because a cashier cant use elementary school level math or a phone 🤦♂️🤦♂️
This is the worst staples I have been to in a while after spending 30 min trying to get a printer to work ... I felt so frustrated because all the employees at the copy and print center ignore you. So upsetting because an employee walk back and forth I believe he wasn’t on the clock but so disgusted that he didn’t even make an atempt to ask someone else to help..truly atrocious!
Just had a presentation job completed at the print center yesterday. The staff was friendly and super helpful. There are bad reviews on Google but I think they are outdated. I find the folks there helpful and responsive. Its the only store like it up here in WaHi so I want them to succeed!
I had the worst experience ever with the manager blad white dude tall very rude. I went to return catrigages and I asked him a few question and he insulted me by saying he doesnt expect me to know anything about the store and that customers make it so difficult and blah blah blah... never going there again. I used to go in my younger times for school supplies which I still love but the service is just completely horrible !!!!
This is one of the larger staples in the city. Its fully stocked and usually not very busy. I fear they may not be here for long. They have a fully operational creation area. So if you need something printed, copied, or otherwise created in print, they can do it here. I came here with a complex project on a thumb drive and they put it all together for me despite my doubts in the likelihood of that happening. I have also been here for packaging materials and they have EVERYTHING. Given that theres nothing like this for some distance, I hope it sticks around.
Smaller selection than most Staples locations in Manhattan. Also, rather unkempt, with broken electronics still displayed or mismatched from whats being sold, trash on the ground, shelves unstocked, etc. Seems like a forgotten Staples. That said, its a good location for grabbing quick replacement products like paper, print cartridges, etc.
Went there once to get an office chair which it turned out they didnt have, thats not their fault I should of called ahead to see if they stocked those. Tried calling ahead today to see if they had a different item I needed in stock gave up after 11 minutes on hold and reading another review that said they where on hold for 29 minutes without an answer. I have no idea why they have a phone line they refuse to answer.
I went there to print a poster for a conference, they said it will come ready the next day at 2 pm.Next day at 2:01 I call the store to make sure the poster is ready, they say they couldnt open the file (which, by the way, was opening fine the day I placed the order) so they did not print it.Leaving for the conference without my poster. Thanks, Staples.
The printers never workAfter they updated the new printersDont ever come here to printAnd the new staffDont give an F about youI miss the old school staffBeen coming here for 4 years3 times a weekMinimumFix the damn printersAdd more printersPut back the cash machine to upload the card

2022-06-10Came at 7:45 to drop off a package, there was no line, it was peaceful and quiet. The older gentleman behind the counter patronized a new significantly younger female employee on how to stack paper and told her “you’re welcome” before she could say anything at all. Then gave me a look over his shoulder and turn his back back on me to continue what he was doing. After a few minutes of zero responsiveness and looking at his back, I left with my package. Had to go to work and have no tolerance for passive aggressive, entitled and bitter people.

2022-06-14Its never really busy. Its best to come in the morning or late morning early afternoon. After school and work hours. The self help stations where the printers are can get busy. Overall friendly staff. I always come here for whatever paperwork I need printed, scanned, faxed, etc.

2022-03-20The Staples on Broadway and 185th in Manhattan is clean and well organized. The staff is nice, too. I can’t give them higher than three stars because there are never enough staff to handle the volume of customers. We have only lived here since COVID so maybe that’s the issue. Wish they could find more staff.

2022-03-26Impossibly slow printing services. They are under staffed (always have been even pre-pandemic) so if you need any assistance at all be prepared to wait 1/2 hr or more. Ridiculous waste of time, unnecessarily for such a humongous corporate service oriented business.

2021-11-23I had a wonderful experience at this location, the customer service is excellent. I went in to scan some photographs and the quality wasn’t good at first but the young lady that was working on Sunday the 21st at the printing and copy section around 4pm was SUPER helpful, and went above and beyond to rescan the pictures herself on a different scanner and the came out PERFECT!! I didn’t get a chance to get her name but would love for her management team to know they have a great employee on their team and that I am very grateful for all of her help.

2021-03-03I have had no issues using their printers and photocopy machines, which can sometimes be a godsend. Staff is courteous and will happily provide help if you need any assistance. Zero complaints about this Staples. The only thing thats bewildering is how big the store is and how much space it takes up!

2020-07-06There is never a line to get into this Staples or evrn other ones. I go to use the computer work station and Im not the most tech savvy person. There is one particular employee at this area of the store that always goes above and beyond to help everyone , he is even bilingual! Very inexpensive to use their computers. When I find his name Ill update.

2021-09-13Placed an online order but had to wait in a very long line to pick up my order. Totally defeats the purpose of online ordering. Every other store has a separate area for pick up orders and some even bring it to your car. This seems counterproductive.
