If you are planning on staying at a place for a while don’t plan that with Starock Management. This is a terrible company with incompetent employees that never actually fix things that are broken. I just had a plumber come into my home and completely gave me an attitude after I had told him I cannot leave all my heaters on because they spray water and it would get too hot. I called Starock today to ask if my heat was fixed. They told me a plumber will be sent to my home today between the hours of 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and it turned out no one showed up until 5:30pm. I spoke with someone who works for the company and I was put on hold twice when she could have helped me. I kid you not, she literally answered the phone and quickly put me on hold, not even giving me time to tell her the reason I called in the first place. Terrible customer service to the people that pay to live in the place you are supposed to maintain. Also they let rats decompose right in front of the front door until it becomes a pile of maggots.
Ever since this company brought the building that I currently rent from it’s became a dump.When i first moved here it was nicely maintained! I’ve had so many issues with these people! Maintenance takes forever to fix anything! You call the office they take forever to answer the phone! If I could give zero stars I would
This company is so unprofessional. The operator guy was cursing me out and yelling and being very unprofessional! I had to tell him this us your job and look at how ur behaving! I told him to stop charging me for a place I dont live at he said hell do it..eventually.
Do not depened on scheduled appointments to see any off these places. Get canceled on and lack of maintenance. Understaffed and unorganized.
Estate agent was too late for the room tour + he showed me an totally different dirty and old apartment.Incompetend company.

2021-08-25All of these reviews are true. Currently water leaking from bathroom ceiling. Multiple calls to place that have gone unanswered. The worst.Edit: in response to the reply. We have tried to call the local office multiple times, multiple times during working hours and off hours. They even sent us a survey asking us how we did but never showed up. This is in the Hartford office.

2020-06-23Easily the worst apartment experience I have ever had. I moved to Hartford without knowing the area, and foolishly signed a lease with these crooks. Promised services are not provided. Maintenance requests go unanswered. No one at the office ever answers the phone. Utter and absolute incompetence and exploitation. Rent from anywhere else.

2020-05-06(2019) I would have never freely chosen to rent from this company. They bought the building I live in and I really wish they hadnt. The former maintenance person didnt speak much English like the Starock maintenance staff however he was timely and attentive. This company is obviously spreading their maintenance staff too thin, however this is not my problem, nor any of the other tenants problem. They should show up when they indicate they will ESPECIALLY when they give a timeframe.Bottom line this company is unprofessional.(2020) I have to update my post.Pros: Close to a lot in West Hartford - Will work with you in regards to rent and missed payments.Cons: PAPER THIN WALLS!! You can hear EVERYTHING your neighbors do. It sounds like they are right in your apartment with you. No laundry. No parking. Excessive Heat on a regular basis (found myself sleeping with ALL the windows open in the WINTER the apartment was 90 degrees), random lack of hot water, gaps in the floor board to the walls that were patched by the previous owner now eaten away by mice. So mice too. If youre cool with all of that trust in this company.

2019-10-18All the negative things said about this company are true unfortunately. If your looking to rent and Starock is the management company run away as quick as u can. They don’t fix anything, they don’t have an actual super or maintenance employees. They just get people or kids off the street for a quick work and pay. You can’t get in contact with them for any problems or emergencies. This place is just to unprofessional. I don’t know how they took over from the previous management company when that management company was 10 times better. I honestly don’t even know how they exist as a management company.
