Staybridge Suites Rochester University, an IHG Hotel in Rochester

Rochester, Monroe County, New York, US
NY has mask mandate, but it didn’t seem to apply to this hotel. Also, rooms need remodeling. There is less than a foot clearance between bed and TV stand. It’s an accident waiting to happen. TV also faces wrong way from bed. Difficult to watch TV in bed. Breakfast was excellent.
OK, to be honest, we were a bit leery of the proximity to areas of the city that have had their struggles, but our options for a dog-friendly extended stay place were limited, and we really didnt want to be in some boring place next to an expressway. JoAnne, the sales manager, convinced us to book, and I am glad we did. We truly enjoyed our stay at the Staybridge. The hotel is literally located on the Genesee Valley Greenway Trail, and there are MILES of walking/biking trails and park system right outside the door. The rooms are well-appointed, although if you plan to cook a lot and need a well-lit prep area,, you might want to bring a small lamp. (There is light, but not as much under-the-cabinet light which these elderly eyes would like.) Also, be aware the area, like many city neighborhoods, is a food desert, so you will have to travel a couple of miles to get to a true grocery store. The hotel is across from the University of Rochester and very close to Strong Hospital and the College Town area. The view on the river side is fabulous. There are free laundry facilities, fitness room, a small business center, and a library with chairs, table, books, board games and puzzles. The buffet breakfast has a large variety of items, the best I have ever seen in a free breakfast. Staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel grounds feel quite safe, although I would cautious about wandering into unknown surrounding areas at night on foot, but that is true of most locales.
Newly built hotel, extremely clean. 3 minutes walk to St Marys hospital. The front desk is very friendly. Yuka nicely switched us from a room with a king bed to another one with a double queen. The price is also reasonable. The only minus is the shortage of parking. We choose to pay for indoor parking for convenience. Highly recommended overall.
Our first stay here we had just a little different experience, but we decided to give it another try and I’m glad we did. Every employee we encountered was sweet, polite, very helpful and professional. Our room was a “Home away from home” with all the comforts. We even took advantage of the free laundry and fitness room. The college kids loved the VIBE and enjoyed relaxing in the room on hots days. We didn’t use the free shuttle service on this trip, but the shuttle really came in handy the first time we stayed here. We felt safe at night and relaxed during the day. A Big Plus was the location from Rochester university, it’s in walking distance, so moving and helping my baby into the dorms was so easy and stress free.Rochester Staybridge suites is not the fanciest, but it’s worth staying at. We will return to this establishment on future trips. Mahalo for everyone who made our experience wonderful.
Our room at this location was overall dirty and not really worth the money we paid. The room was very large which was good when traveling for our infant’s doctors visit. However, nothing else was good about it. The molding and walls were dirty. The molding had what looked like to be splashed food or dirt in the living room and bathroom. The door in the bathroom at the bottom looked like it has water damage that caused it to bubble. The toilet wouldn’t flush the toilet paper down unless you held it down. The paint in the bedroom wasn’t done properly and there was blue paint on the ceiling and on the beige walls. This cheapened up the one wall different paint feature. The curtains had dirt on them in the bedroom. The bed was clean and comfortable, thank god, but the overall furniture was chipped and had lots of scratches so you could see the natural wood under the stain. The patio our back was nice as was the view.
The staff is top notch and the hotel is in a perfect location on the river. You can enjoy the delicious breakfast every morning with an excellent and extremely pleasant and down to earth staff and cooks. The rooms are also very comfortable and it is easy to control the temperature in them. Best place to stay near The University of Rochester. Jim
This hotel worked well for our family; especially option of a suite with a separate bedroom area. Plenty of space. We also enjoyed the view overlooking the Genesee River. Room was clean and tidy, and pull-out sofa bed worked well. Kitchen area was a plus. Complimentary breakfast in the morning was very good, with a selection of hot, cold and to-go items. There was something for everyone. The coffee was very good, too! Hotel desk personnel were very pleasant, attentive and helpful, as were other staff. We were not planning to use the pool (it was not open), but that is a plus for the future.
Staying here during our bathroom renovations, made it so much easier! Dog friendly, we were able to walk her along the river on the many paths. When we found out we had to extend our stay, Staybridge Suites was amazing! Austin was extremely kind, helpful and understanding! Marielle was helpful and kind as well. Thank you for making our home away from home so lovely, we appreciate all you did for us!
I lost my house due to a fire. I wanted my kids to be comfortable till we figure out what we were gonna do and the stay was perfect. It was like we were in our own apartment the kids were happy too. The only thing I was upset was that the pool was close. Other then that it was a great stay. Will recommend and will be coming back.
This hotel is worth a fair except for the fact that our suite was clean, the location is pleasant, parking is easy and the view of the river and the hotels deck looking over the river were just fine. I will address the price issue later. What was not agreeable:1. the pervasive odor, reminiscent of onions and garlic. The odor was in the lobby, the halls and the suite. With all three windows open after 1 1/2 days we got the rooms aired out. But even the bed linen seemed to have caught the odor.2. Almost all the furniture was nicked in our suite. If this hotel was open in 2008, nothing has been upgraded to our experience.3. Picky but the burner plates on the stove were encrusted with burn. As new burner plates can be purchased, this was not acceptable, looking as they did dirty.
Absolutely love this hotel. We have been here for two months for my husbands job. Everyone that works at the hotel is wonderful. The breakfast is amazing. The view from the back porch is very nice with the river and all the different birds that hang out around the river. There is a lovely bike path right outside the back door. Its been very peaceful the entire time we have been here. The rooms are clean the beds are amazing. There is a large fridge and mini kitchen in all the rooms. My husband and have been very pleased all around.
Thank you for such a great stay at your comfortable hotel. We had a Thrive women’s conference at the civic center and you made our stay special. Comfortable beds, an awesome jacuzzi that we needed to relax.Front desk helped us with all our needs and housekeeping checked on us and gave us what we needed. Helped us figure out new coffee maker and gave us extra pods for coffee, made a difference. I will recommend this hotel and we will be back. Thanks again
Staybridge is an exceptional place to stay. It is away clean, and a excellent location. Staff is always available and kind. Check in was a matter of minutes. Room comfortable and clean. I stay here every time I come to Rochester. Just a great place. you get what you pay for.
We were visiting Rochester and wanted to stay in a suite hotel in a downtown area. We had never used a Staybridge Suite hotel but this experience was so outstanding, we will try to use them as often as possible. The location overlooking the Genesee River was excellent. Although not exactly downtown, it was right on the trail leading to the University of Rochester. The room was spotless and comfortable. We highly recommend this property.
Soon as we arrrived, we where told they was short on staff and any requests would take a while for a response.. My room was clean but smaller then I amaigned so I ask for and upgraded room but none was available, which I completely understood because it was the holiday.. I couldnt get comfortable due to a dog barking pretty much all night. Ive visited in the past pre covid and LOVED IT, but post covid, its just not the same.
I always stay at IHG hotels for work trips for their consistency, cleanliness, and value. I had not stayed in a hotel since COVID started until this most recent trip, as I was avoiding putting myself in high-flow, exposed areas to protect myself. I picked this IHG hotel thinking it would be clean and safe. The room was not cleaned sufficiently for even pre-pandemic expectations. There were beard trimmings on the sink faucet, in the sink and on the bathroom countertop when I arrived. This tells me that the bathroom sink area was not disinfected at all (not to mention even wiped down...) which is horribly disgusting.I had arrived late at night for an overnight business trip with a very early start. By the time I was going to wash up before going to bed and when I found this gross lack of cleaning I was too tired and it was too late to try to switch a room only to wake up the next day and leave at 5AM. I called the front desk and let them know of the situation, they said they would log my complaint for management. I have not heard back about this since.

My check-in experience was horrible, the gentlemen at the front desk was extremely rude, condescending, and unhelpful. There was an issue with my reservation in their system, which wasnt his or my fault, but he offered no help in resolving it. I had the confirmation emails and my companies travel agent on the line and still he wouldnt help us resolve the problem. He was ready to have me walk out and try and find a room at another hotel. Finally the travel agent and I suggested that we cancel the room and re-book it. We did that, however, he refused to give us my company rate (the same rate that my reservation had been made with). He said it wasnt possible. Its shocking that a large chain hotel like this clearly does not provide all of their employees with hospitality training. The next morning, another gentlemen at the front desk was extremely helpful. It took me 20 seconds to explain the situation and another 20 seconds for him to give me the company rate. While this was very much appreciated, unfortunately my experience was already soured by the night before. The rooms themselves look and smell like they were constructed with cheap materials and furnishings from the 90s and havent been touched since. My room was dirty when I arrived, stains in the shower, hairs in the sink. The room also wasnt cleaned or beds made during my stay. Not sure if this is a new policy or something due to COVID but I was not informed of it. I would have said something to the front desk staff, but after how rude the gentlemen was to my on my check-in, I avoided contact with any employees as much as possible.I booked this room through my companys travel service as we have frequent travel here from NYC. I will be communicating this internally to try and have this hotel removed from our travel site.
We had a 2 bedroom suite for 2 adults and 5 kids. Appreciate having the kitchen to cook. Had to ask for housekeeping and no one came. When they finally did they were not good. Left the soiled towels in the room and didn’t really clean well. We were in a handicap accessible room with a bathroom latch that it often took two people to open! It was ridiculous. There was a big breakfast if you can eat anything and everything. Not much gluten free. The microwave was not fully working and there is a gross stain in the tub..see pictures.
Nice location on the Genesee River with a walking bridge to University of Rochester. 1 bedroom suite was clean and nicely appointed. Bed comfortable , shower hot , towels thick. Breakfast was plentiful (bagels, oatmeal fruit cereals etc)$ 162.oo after taxes.Would stay again!
We had a great experience once we were checked in. There was a delay at check-in due to housekeeping staff shortage. The manager did what he could to make up for the delay. The room was everything we imagined in quality. It was inviting and comfortable. The breakfast lived up to its reputation of being especially good.
There was sonething besides coffee In my coffee and my husbands cloths were “missing “ from the laundry room . Leaving Jamaica stopping in Rochester for a few days then headed to Belgium, this was a major problem. The manager seemed unconcerned I reached out to corporate and 4 days later no call back. Prior to these horrible incidents the front desk associates were amazing I wish I knew the gentleman name with the glasses he was the best . Great view and rooms were decent . Has more of a cheap motel stay feel.
Wonderful welcoming environment! My son will be attending the University of Rochester in the Fall, which the hotel is conveniently located walking minutes away! We are from Orlando FL. and I am considering this hotel as my home away from home, when I visit there! I am that satisfied with the experience weve had during our stay! No complaints, from someone as picky as I am!
Needed a nice hotel room for an out of town visitor, with an early check in. There is no way to easily request that on the hotels corporate website, so went to hotel in person, on a Friday about 1:30 pm - one week in advance.Female desk clerk could not be bothered to greet me for several minutes while I stood there smiling patiently. When she finally looked back up and grunted something, I requested to make a reservation with an early check-in on this future date. Desk Clerk was clueless on how to handle that request. Wanted me to make and pay for the reservation now and then just call the day of check-in to see if possibleI explained I need a confirmed early check-in and have done that at many other hotels in my travels. No willingness to help. She then called over a male desk clerk, who seemed to be her boss, and he acted like I was a criminal to request this. Surprisingly hostile - as if I was robbing the place.I also requested the hotel to honor the lower price I saw on the hotels corporate website (not a third party site - this was on the actual Staybridge Suites site) - again the clerk was very dismissive and said they could not match their own internet advertised price - which was about $40 less than I was quoted in person ready to book.I finally gave up and went to a new locally owned hotel - and had no problem with either request. The local hotel easily accommodated a Noon check-in and cheerfully gave me their best price, which was online - with no argument.I understand corporate policy may tie the clerks hands - but these two daytime desk clerks had no sense of hospitality at all. Will no go back to this location.
We were in town to tour both U Rochester and RIT and booked this hotel. We knew nothing about the area and picked this hotel based on a quick look at google maps so we were a bit nervous, but it turned out to be better than we could have ever expected. It is right on the river so the view was amazing. Theres a footbridge about a minutes walk from the hotel and it crosses the river directly into the U Rochester campus. (We were there on July 4 so it also made for a great spot to watch the fireworks!) Walking distance to U Roch, maybe a 5-7 minute drive to RIT, and a quick easy drive to downtown. Plenty of free parking, a complimentary hot breakfast, a full kitchen in our room - what more could we want! Should our child end up going to college in Rochester we will definitely stay here again.
Booked this hotel due to the proximity to University of Rochester. The staff was excellent, very helpful. I felt safe in the hotel and very clean. I did not sleep well beacuase the curtains dont close so light was shining in all night. I realize this is covid and I really appreciated breakfast, but no good options for vegetarians. Every biscuit/sandwich had meat. They had fruit, but it was mushy. Overall a good stay. Would come again.
I’m very cautious about the type of hotel I stay in and with COVID-19 still in existence, I was a little nervous however, I can really say that I enjoyed my stay, the room was very clean and the service was great. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was clean.
How was my stay? I dont know because they canceled my booking the day I came... already flew out here, came to check into the Staybridge, and I find out they overbooked and canceled my stay instead. No compensation or anything. Now I have to find somewhere to sleep for tonight...
We stayed at the Staybridge after picking our daughter up from UR. The room was spacious and very clean. Kitchen area had dishes and fridge which we used when we ordered food for dinner. Staff at this hotel are courteous and friendly. I also liked the outdoor deck seating area
Im so glad we opted to stay at this hotel when we visited the University of Rochester. We wanted to be near the school to get a sense of the area, as well as have a home base to be able to explore the city. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Having the suite gave us a chance to have some space without paying for 2 rooms. The mattress on the pull-out couch wasnt especially comfortable, but it wasnt unbearable. We were easily able to acquire anything we needed from the front desk. Definitely recommend.
The hotel was close to the location I was going for the two days. The rooms are comfortable with the living room added. The kitchen area was perfect for reheating food. The outside deck was great for relaxing. In the morning the complimentary breakfast was an added bonus and the free parking was great. I had a minor problem in the room and the gentleman at the desk took care of the problem right away,he couldnt have been any nicer. I didnt get his name but hes an added Plus to the hotel.
I was checked into an occupied room, which had a half clothed female customer, who called the police on me!! When I went to front desk associate neither apologized or seemed the least bit concerned, he nonchalantly gave me another room. Room was hastily cleaned if at all sheets were askew on bed, no soap no coffee in room, Iam (or was) a Spire Elite, but mine, as well as my fellow employees who travel 9 months out of the year will be doing any further business with IHG.
Positive: It¿s a short ride from the airport. Nice park and trail next to hotel, but would not recommend going there after dark. Negative: This is not a three star hotel. The rooms are very drab with outdated decor. The hotel is being used as student overflow housing, so it feels like a dorm- students occupy all lounges and communal space. The breakfast was sub-par. Neighborhood isn¿t saf
The staff from beginning to end were friendly, helpful, and available. The location was phenomenal to be able to walk on the trail in the back and conveniently located to everything I needed. The room was immaculate. I absolutely loved the towels in the bathroom! My son was with me and can be quite critcal, thought it was a great experience as well. Only wished the hot tub was open, but that was not a fault of theirs. The breakfast too was awesome under the circumstances, I felt they went above and beyond to make it as normal as possible.
Pathetic customer service. Right from check-in to checkout, front desk guys were not at all helpful. They gave contradictory updates on request for services.I wonder if the management still likes to delight their customers as they claimed to be in 2017. I took a picture of that statement in their elevator.Even the breakfast area staff where stressed out and didnt provide courteous response. For $200, a night, this is a big mistake.
I loved the view of the Genesee River and being able to see the University of Rochester.I love the ease of being able to walk across the pedestrian bridge to campus. Breakfast was good and enjoyed an evening snack on the back patio. I will be visiting this hotel again and would recommend it for any parent or family who is visiting a student at the University of Rochester.
Austin needs a raise. He was very professional and accommodating. My room was pristine, like the rest of the hotel. The bed was huge and oh so comfortable. The linens and towels were radiant as well as soft. The best sleep Ive had in 5 years or more. The halls were quiet and the housekeeping immaculate.
This is a perfectly located hotel on the canal and across from UR. The breakfast is a full breakfast with many great options and the view from the patio is amazing. TIP: take a tour up the Erie Canal and through the lock system with Ontario boat charters. It’s an unforgettable experience.
The accommodations were excellent for me. The kitchenette is well equipped for if you want to cook for yourself, and theres plenty of businesses around the area of the hotel to order outside food. The breakfast buffet every morning was awesome. Everything is very clean and the Staff is always very helpful. You can walk down from the hotel patio to immediately be on the trail along the Genesee River and... have a great time.
Excellent place to stay. Rooms very clean and spacious. Robert at front desk was very nice and helpful. Very nice breakfast, and the woman attendant doing the breakfast was very kind. Good location for university visits, and it was awesome to be right on the bike/walking trail. Easy to get a great walk in.
Hotel has lost its touch over the years & has lost me as a customer. Long story short I drove from a different state went there prior to check in time to see if possible I can get some rest I was told no rooms are available I left went to grab a bite even took my time I called the hotel once at 2pm to see if I can come check in they checked and said no rooms are available yet but definitely at 3. Called back at 2:48 to inform the hotel I was definitely coming back and made sure the room would be ready. Long story short the room still wasn’t ready even after I arrived waited until about 4pm to check in to a nasty smelling room with a dirty tub and appliances took pictures and video of the room especially during covid they don’t clean well. I called back to get a refund for the 1 night I didn’t even stay there talked to Anthony with his nasty attitude telling me I still would be charged after this hotel couldn’t check me in on time this hotel is definitely not worth it please don’t fall for the 5 star reviews
I stayed here for four months, while working in Rochester. My room was lovely, the staff was friendly and accommodating and the pricing was reasonable. My overall experience was wonderful. The hotel is centrally located near RIT, the University of Rochester, the airport and the 490 expressway. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and can’t wait to do just that! It’s the perfect home away from home.
Beautiful river view. Not a tourist spot, kind of ghetto but very safe. No safe box in the room. Room feels old and dark. Morning front desk crews are the worst, I rarely see anyone there and even if there is someone, he/she doesnt greet you. The only person will greet you with Good Moring is the lady cook. Night crews are better.
Consistent, reliable hotel near U of R. Walls arent very thick so if you happen to have a heavy foot upstairs neighbor, loud next-door guest or a door slammer it can get annoying. Dont count on the front desk to know anything about the Rochester area either. Otherwise the breakfast is fine and the suite facilities are clean. Ample parking. Check ahead to see if the gym and pool are open.
I had to stay 4 days at this hotel while receiving medical treatment at the nearby hospital. The manager went out of his way to accommodate us. The kitchen was more than I ever expected with a full size refrigerator, microwave, dishes, burners to cook on, and even dishes and silverware. The room was exceptionally clean and quite. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. I could not have asked for better accommodations. I will be staying there again next month.
Our family stayed for 2 nights. Starting from the parking, front desk , welcome , every thing was great.Staff were overall fabulous. The rooms were extraordinarily spacious, very clean, nice kitchen with amenities. The AM complimentary breakfast was awesome considering the COVID days. There was plenty space in the deck outside to enjoy the food with social distancing. Will definitely stay here once again if coming to Rochester.
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to a two bedroom suite, which was very nice. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We have to return to Rochester in a few months and we will definitely be staying at this hotel. I have already recommended it to several friends and family members.
The room was very comfortable, clean, great view over the river. The staff was courteous; breakfast was generous and tasted good. However, whoever designed the bathroom to be only accessible by going through the bedroom (and then had this design approved!) was not thinking straight. My daughter, who slept in the “living room”, had to walk through our bedroom to get to the bathroom. Not a big deal but when we’re sleeping and she needed to use the bathroom and turn on the light, it was inconvenient.
Should we return to the area we will definitely choose this hotel again. The staff was remarkable, especially Skylar who took great care of us when reserving our room. The room was comfortable, clean and we enjoyed it. We loved the coffee in the lounge all day and night, with To-Go cups available and a variety of sugars and creamers. The breakfast was excellent. The room was great. We enjoyed the library room in the lobby area with games such as scrabble and others. At night there is a fire pot outdoors making a lovely place to sit outside and view the river and about 25 geese that were walking around when they werent swimming in the river. We will definitely return to this hotel if in the area again.
Staff friendly, helpful and available. Location is great on the canal if you have a canal view room you see beautiful U of R lit up at night. The trail in back is an added plus. Fitness center is open, cant wait until pool and hot tub do too. Breakfast still has a hot item.
Overall it was a nice stay. Especially with the location next to the University. The staff was friendly, breakfast good, cant beat sitting next to a lake and having your breakfast. The room was good. The only issue we found was that we paid extra and booked a room with a lakeside view. We got room 202, though it was lakeside, the view was a big issue. Both the windows have a big black terrace and one could hardly see the lake at all. Other than that the rooms were good, clean and everything was great. So if you are taking a lakeside view room, make sure its not 202.

We had a great room, very clean and the fully stocked kitchen was great. There were loud parties and heavy smoking within the hotel for 3 of our 7 night stay. Other than that the hotel was perfect for our needs. Very close to Golisano children’s hospital. Beautiful trails to walk near the water.
We stayed here while on a campus visit to UR. Room was adequate, breakfast was very good, location was perfect. Hotel is a bit old but was clean. Price was a bit high for condition of hotel but if they renovated, they could pick their price based on proximity to college.
Truly excellent accommodations. Best we have experienced spanning many years travel. Too many extras to name. The friendliness and kindness is overwhelming. The rooms are large and lavish I need food every amenity imaginable. The prices outrageously low for all that you get.
I enjoyed most parts of my stay. The best parts included the welcoming and friendly staff as well as the breakfast options. While most are cutting corners right now, the breakfast was most definitely the best hotel breakfast Ive ever had. This location is quite convenient for both the airport and University of Rochester. However, I didnt think it was the safest area to be in. The biggest downfall for this hotel is simply the need to renovate and update the rooms, the furniture, and the bathrooms. You can definitely see the age in most places. I wouldnt not recommend this property, but if I had to return, Im not sure it would be my first choice.
Always friendly, helpful, and all around nice people. We stay while my husband gets cancer treatment so have been there 65 days and have stayed since. Rooms are large, comfortable, and the staff from management to cleaners are just wonderful. Thank you all! The MacDonells and our two dogs! ♥
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was in a perfect location for my needs. The room was great and it was nice sitting on the outside deck along the river. The free breakfast in the morning was just right. In my future visits to Rochester Ill return to this hotel.
Staybridge Suites, for those that have never stayed, is IHGs step-above Candlewood brand. If youre still lost, that means that its like staying in a small apartment. Kitchen, dishwasher, freezer, and all of that jazz. The front desk crew is super polite and do well to ensure you feel at home during your stay. I tend to stay often at these sorts of hotels, and I give this location props for doing better than most. The house cleaning crew is fantastic as well, as is the kitchen staff that provide the morning meals. The view is worth noting, too. The river side style of this Staybridge is tranquil and relaxing and you can see RocU across the street, which is a school with some very pretty architecture. The city itself is large while feeling small, which means basically anything you might need to do in Rochester you can likely get to relatively quickly from here.I have no real complaints and suggest anyone staying in town to consider doing so here.
Even before booking, the hotel manager immediately answered my questions and resolved a potential issue.Hotel is located along the river trail, which was great for our morning run.Breakfast was varied from morning-to-morning and was very good, even during the pandemic.
We stayed for a few days to explore the area. We felt safety precautions were in place to protect guests. The suite was clean, comfortable, and came with great river view! We enjoyed relaxing on the terrace in the evening by the fire table. Breakfast was still offered as grab and go and coffee was available. Would highly recommend this place!
Our two-room suite was perfect for our needs. Clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff, especially Austin and Sable, are to be commended for their courtesy and helpfulness. The breakfast was as good as it could have been, under difficult circumstances (hard boiled eggs would have been appreciated). Next time, we would want a river view without the roof of the swimming pool under our window.
Hotel wasn’t clean, room has bad smell, bathrooms are dirty bathroom doors are barely put together with a proper lock, Management is a lier and refuses to refund me for a night I never stayed at. Corporate says they can’t do nothing nobody has a boss it’s just bad business. I promise to tell everyone never to stay at that hotel and The manager God bless you… you’re really going to need it
The location on the Genesee River and the river walk is outstanding, especially if you have a room overlooking the river. The complimentary breakfast was outstanding and saves time and money when heading out for the day. The front desk, housekeeping and maintenance staff were ALL incredibly friendly and helpful. We did not have a negative interaction with ANY member of the staff. Pool was very nice and very clean. Fitness Center was more than adequate to get a good workout in while away from home or your home gym. The cost/value was excellent as well. Our room was spacious, clean and felt very homy for our family of 4 (2 adults, 1-2 year old, 1-6 month old). Would definitely recommend and will stay here again.
Spacious clean room, great kitchen and bathroom, quiet nights, excellent location (right on the riverwalk and near the city center). My only issue was that the buffet breakfast was the most Earth-unfriendly one Ive seen in a long time. Styrofoam containers, plastic everything. Even during Covid times, it is possible to choose eco-friendly containers and utensils and ban plastic straws. Hotels should be leaders in this. How can this hotel justify the number of styrofoam containers, plastic utensils, plastic cups, and plastic straws the breakfast crowd uses EACH morning -- multiplied by EVERY morning -- all of which goes straight to the landfill and then into the dying oceans? Come on.
This was my first stay at Staybridge . Growing up not far from this location in my childhood days it was so welcoming and beautiful. The decorations were perfect, the staff made me feel at home- attentive to every need. The complimentary hot breakfast bar and social gathering dinners were amazing. It was so nice to meet the other guests who were from so many places. I spent evenings getting to know the visitors and staff. Everyone from my first step into the door to my goodbye see you next time was absolutely the best. I loved the van service which provided rides to and from the airport as well as to local stores and attractions. Before I forget there was even complimentary laundry facilities. I have to give management the best job ever for having the right people in the right jobs. Everyone made such a lasting impression on me. It felt like home. I am planning my next stay soon. Thank you.
This hotel exceeded our expectations compared to other all suite type hotels. Staff was friendly and efficient and the rooms were spacious and well appointed. Nice that they actually provided enough towel sets in the room before we arrived and had the green option of not putting out fresh towels unless requested. We knew there was the complimentary breakfast, but the evening social hour with food options was a nice plus. Perfect because we started out as as party of 3 but after dropping off our son at college, we were down to a party of two. Nice to have extra room for him and not having to rent another room.
From the moment I walked in and after my first nights stay....I knew that on my return trip due a week later, that I wanted to stay at Staybridge Rochester again. They were so incredibly friendly, had such a willingness to make me happy, and made me feel so well taken care of. During the weekdays, theyve social hour starting at 5:30-7:30 with complimentary wine/beer, dinner and dessert. Theyve a menu mapped out which youll find on their calendar. Hello Taco Tuesdays! Its such a nice touch and then to be able to sit in their lounge area and get some work done, hit the gym downstairs, the pool or just hang out by the firepit which overlooks the river ???? Sign me up for more! I was upgraded to a junior suite which overlooked the river....its basically a small apartment with a separate living room, kitchen with complimentary popcorn, snacks, etc. I felt so comfortable and like if I didnt want to...i could have just chilled in my room without a care in the world. However, the complimentary breakfast in the morning definitely lured me out of my lair. The rooms are a bit dated, but seriously for the price youre paying for these rooms and the level of service....i dont need a bunch of upgraded anything. This place is great and though I dont know when ill be back in Rochester....i definitely will book here again. Bonus...its a legit 10 minute door to door drive from the airport
We were so pleased with this hotel from first sight to checkout. The front desk staff was so pleasant and professional. We stayed two nights during the Lilac Festival and especially appreciated the complimentary shuttle service provided by Jim. The grounds were well landscaped and the views and walkways along the river were beautiful. In the evening we enjoyed sitting by the fireplace on the patio overlooking the water. Our queen suite room was spacious, clean, with a comfortable bed and full kitchen. We will definitely stay at this hotel if we return to the Rochester area.
A person coming from the city to upstate is not common. For me, this place was beyond my expectations. The staff was kind and gave good tips on where to get great food. The perks about this place was the kitchen within the room. I was able to prepare my own meal. The pool and hot tub were great as well. There’s also a laundry room available for guests to do their laundry. Fitness room was nice too. Managed to get a workout while waiting for my laundry to get done. Overall satisfied!
This was a perfect visit. It was like relaxing in the comfort of your own home. I particularly enjoyed the great room and the library to get work done. The rooms were comfortable and quiet, the breakfast buffet delicious and the staff was very friendly. My son enjoyed the pool and I enjoyed getting a head start on the laundry. I wish I had an excuse to stay here again!
I have stayed at this hotel before and have had no major issues. However, this last visit I arrived and was told that the room I had reserved several months in advance was not available. Therefore they “upgraded” me to a suite. At first I thought it would be good but this was no upgrade. There was nothing special about this room other than the fact that it was larger than a regular room. It was also on the first floor facing the parking lot. Upon further inspection, there were noticeable stains in the carpet, the shower head sprayed water everywhere making for a slippery floor situation, and the sheets and blankets to the pull out sofa couch were full of tears. Also, the HVAC system was so loud that all night it felt like I was sleeping with the sound of a vacuum cleaner. In addition, the garbage disposal in the kitchen was giving off a nasty odor. Although the staff was friendly, when I told them the list of things wrong with the room, the person I spoke to wrote nothing down. Another issue is that the area is not safe. People are panhandling in the parking lot and one family was smoking pot by the front entrance as their kids played with rocks nearby. Breakfast wasn’t the best to begin with but now it’s worse due to COVID. I skipped it the next day and went out to eat. This hotel should do so much better especially being in a prime area in proximity to the University. Unfortunately, this last visit has me shopping elsewhere for the next time I visit the area.
The hotel is just lovely. I chose it for convenience but we loved sitting outside next to the fire pit at night. Breakfast was excellent with fresh berries and a good assortment of hot foods. We loved sitting on patio overlooking the river. Felt luxurious.Best part by far was how crazy friendly and helpful every single staff person we met were to us. The shuttle service was very helpful and it is a ridiculously lovely walk to the university over the bridge. I will definitely come back.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The lobby was comfortable with a great view of the river and campus. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful when I needed to print and scan a lot of documents for work. Robert let me forward emails to him and then he printed thyme and scanned them back to me! The room was very confortable and the kitchen was stocked. I didn’t need to call and ask for anything. The bed was very cozy and the workspace was well lit and offered plenty of outlets for all the devises. The WiFi was fast and reliable. The proximity to campus allowed me to get back and forth in about three easy minutes. I will stay here every time I come to visit the University of Rochester!
This is one of my favorite IHG hotels. They go over and beyond what their job is. I can’t think Robert enough for everything he did for our family. Love the room, view, and the staff. Always feel welcome and I know I’m going to get a great night sleep. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to stay the night in the area.
We spent all day driving and arrived late. We got a bump up from a double to a suite and it was perfect for a long day on the road. My mother-in-law was able to have her own room with bathroom. My daughter and I had our own beds and privacy with our bathroom. The fridge was a nice size and could keep all our drinks cold and refreeze the ice packs. Perfect end to a long first day of our college visiting trip. The neighborhood was safe and there were plenty of lights lit outside to park under or near. I would recommend this location for anyone visiting Rochester University, families and business people.
Loved meeting the owner, Ron, our first night. He was amazing. We found the Staybridge on-line for a stay, while we were celebrating our friends fathers 100th Bday. It sounded great, so my friend recommended it to two other people. We all gathered on the deck our first night and the owner made everyone feel so welcome and appreciated. The location was perfect and beautiful. The parking lot was large enough to accommodate our RV. The room was very comfortable. So glad you were pet friendly. Appreciated a free and very clean laundry room. The people were really great - from check-in, to a wonderful breakfast, to just helpful people...for whatever we needed.
We had a beautiful one bedroom suite. Very large kitchen and dining table and comfortable living room furniture. The bedroom was also spacious with a very functional bathroom. Super clean room. Front desk staff was helpful and efficient, quickly checking us in after our long drive and late arrival.Very nice breakfast with lots of choices. My sons favorite was the make your own waffles. The dining area was clean and the staff friendly and helpful. The river view was beautiful. We used the hotel shuttle, which was quick and efficient. Friendly driver who talked about local events occurring while we were there.Overall, great value! Excellent property that we would definitely visit again.
We were in town fora family wedding and had ~25 family members in multiple rooms. The suites were great, with the multiple rooms and then the social areas were perfect for us to order pizza and sit out overlooking the river. Customer Service was Stellar. Room was very clean. Social gathering areas were fantastic. The river view was peaceful. The included breakfast was better than most and very generous. Coffee was pretty darn good for a hotel We LOVED our stay.
Clearly this hotel strives for the higest standards of customer service. Ive stayed there 3 times over the last 6 years and the staff is always friendly and helpful. From the front desk staff to the friendly house keeping staff we pass in the hallway to the helpful staff keeping the breakfast buffet fully stocked. The staff make makes this hotel every time. The breakfast buffet is excellent.. very good quality and selection. Fresh scrambled eggs. Usually eggs at these buffets are gross and slimy. These were restaurant good. We even had crispy bacon one day. The next was sausage and real maple ham. Never ran out even whan busy
My family of 4 truly enjoyed ourselves. Myself especially being my first time at a place like this. I felt like I was staying in a fully furnished apartment. We came there to get away for our sons 5th birthday and he enjoyed it as well as it was his first hotel experience. Thank you very much!
First time going to the area for a hockey game. We were beyond pleased with this hotel! They think of all the little things to make your stay pleasant, even pet friendly. Good location to things you may want to do downtown and right across the river from U of R - you can just cross a bridge and tour the beautiful historic campus! Breakfast was unbelievable but more importantly staff at the front desk was helpful in many ways. We were able to check in a bit early and had a late check out. We would tell anyone to check this chain out, its amazingly a surprise to find such nice quality when you are traveling!
Room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was a full spread with waffles, eggs, omelette fixings, fresh fruit, bread/muffins/bagels, cereal, etc. There was plenty of space to sit, with a great view of the Genesee River. The friendly staff made the accommodations even better. Everyone that I talked to was very helpful and nice. The hotel offers a free shuttle to anywhere within 3 miles (including the airport!). It runs until 10:30am (I cant remember when it starts), and then 5pm-9pm. The driver was also very nice and friendly. Overall, a great stay. I wish we were able to stay here longer!
Wonderful hotel! My daughter and I stayed about 2 months at the University of Rochester Staybridge so she could have surgery and continue attending U of R after she broke her leg skiing. We arrived in a panic and were greeted immediately by people who skillfully managed our move-in and made us feel surrounded by care. The high level of service continued throughout. The meals were consistently good and an appreciated bonus. Common areas warm and inviting. Amenities well kept and convenient. Suite was fully equipped, clean and comfortable. Thanks to Joanne, Rob, Suzanne, Tonya and everyone at the front desk, housekeeping and food service. What started as a frightening time for us has become a happy memory.
We stayed with our 2 high school/college aged daughters for 7 nights in a 2BR suite. We had plenty of room to relax and even cook dinner if we felt like it. Very helpful and friendly staff. The location on the Genesee River is beautiful with easy access to the bikepath along the river. We had some initial concerns about the neighborhood near the hotel, but had no issues. Good selection for breakfast. Evening social 3 nights per week with complimentary beer (loved the IPA) and wine was a nice surprise.
Pleasantly surprised at my experience as ive never stayed at one before. the service was great and front desk outstanding.good thing breakfast was free, as it was adequate fut not up to even other free buffets ive experienced. the staff there were great, just the food quality and variety.loved the fireplace in the middle, although it didnt give out much heat. on the river which was fun to watch. easy access to many places in rochester.the shuttle drive, jim, was amazing and helped make my experience so pleasant.
I made reservations for our 27th wedding anniversary at the Staybridge, because I thought it would be nice being on the river, and being close to, but not in the middle of Downtown Rochester. There was so much more than the river view that was great. The hotel is fantastic, and the room was wonderful. We really enjoyed the outdoor sitting area just outside the Great room right on the river. They have outdoor grills, tables with and without umbrellas, and a fire pit. So nice sitting out there having complimentary food and drinks during Social hour. The Morning breakfast buffet was also quite good. The pool and jacuzzi was wonderful, and very clean. We were there over the 4th of July and we were able to see the Downtown fireworks right from the Hotel. Really cool. The Staff were very friendly and helpful. We couldnt have asked for a better place to stay for our anniversary, and we will be back next year. Thank you very much Staybridge for the great stay.
We truly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We checked in late, after an event, and the parking are and front entrance were well-lit and welcoming. We were greeted by a front desk staffer that was beyond friendly, informative and kind. The lobby was clean and well-appointed. The hotel features many complimentary items- shuttle within 3 miles, a delicious breakfast, many cozy areas to hang out outside of the guest rooms. The lobby was busy with quite a few meeting attendees, but the front desk staff took it in stride and appeared to know many of the guests by their name or their preferences. The room was beautiful- we were even greeted by a gorgeous sunrise when we woke up. My only complaint is that our schedule didnt allow us a two night stay. Nice job Staybridge Suites Rochester University!!
The hotel is conveniently located but it is definitely not my first choice. I was up most of the night due to someone slamming the door all night. The complimentary breakfast shouldn’t even be offered and though I was told housekeeping would come if call, I did not call and was awakened by housekeeping anyways.
We came to visit our student and this hotel offers a great rate! The hotel is welcoming, the rooms clean and spacious. They serve a nice breakfast and the lobby has a lovely river view. The pool is small but clean, and the hot tub is a great perk. Definitely recommend!
I was very happy with my stay at the Staybridge Suites Rochester University. The hotel is very clean and quiet with a very friendly staff. There is a full kitchen in each room with a full refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishes, pots, pans, silverware, coffeemaker, and garbage disposal. The bathroom is large and clean and has plenty of towels. The beds are very comfortable. There is a great HD flat-screen TV with plenty of channels, and great wifi connection in each room. The fitness center is small but has cardio and weights, and I used it daily as well as I took advantage of the miles of walking trails next to the Geneesee river that is right behind the hotel. The icing on the cake was the free laundry facility with multiple large, new, state of the art washers and dryers. I loved this hotel and will only stay at this hotel when visiting Rochester from now on!
My husband, daughter and I were thrilled to open the door to our room and see a little kitchen, living room area and separate bedroom. We had a beautiful view of the river from our window and were only a 7 minute drive from the University of Rochester campus when we drove to visit our son. We enjoyed eating a pizza in the kitchen and having two televisions. The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was very nice. A wonderful weekend!
I stayed at this property summer, 2017 and was so impressed with the staff that when I returned to Rochester, I booked a 2 night stay. The front desk staff is welcoming and so helpful. I cant say enough great things about Ben and Jesus. I thought I had left my wedding ring in the room and Jesus responded quickly and scoured the room and called me back. PS I found my ring in my suitcase. I loved the tasteful holiday decorations and the fireplace. Nice touch. Breakfast offerings were perfect for my tastes. Thank you for another great experience.
This visit was short due to the nature of needing to move my daughter out of her dorm room at U of R. The hotel seemed to make extra efforts to encourage social distancing and had hand sanitizer available in convenient locations. The breakfast was just as large as experienced in the past, with many options available to go. Given the situation. I really appreciated having such a nice place to stay.
Second time we stayed at a Staybridge suites, but this one was disappointing. The check-in was great, we were upgraded to a river view room, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. When we enquired about local restaurants, they told us to use their shuttle service. Jimmy the driver was excellent and re-directed us to a fun and excellent restaurant. He also gave us some information about the area on our drive to and from the restaurant. The hotel was in an excellent location, quiet, backed on a river across from the University but relatively close to freeway. However this hotel is in need of some cleaning and furniture replacement. The floors in front of the elevator were dirty, the furniture in our room was banged up with lots of scratches and marks, the lamp shades were broken. In the breakfast area, the furniture was in a similar condition. The breakfast was disappointing, over cooked cheese omelettes and dry looking scrambled eggs were offered. Nothing else was very appealing. Breakfast staff did not interact with guests, nor offer coffee refill or clear tables like our previous Staybridge suites experience.Would not stay at this hotel again if we were in the area.
The staff here are top notch. Incredibly welcoming and helpful. The atmosphere is far above other hotels. I enjoyed complimentary food and adult beverages while sitting in front of a relaxing fire overlooking the calming water of the beautiful river. Great way to end a long day of work. In the morning the breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The rooms are spacious and clean. A great experience. Will definitely frequent this hotel every time I visit Rochester.
This was our first stay at a Staybridge Suites, and we were delighted by our room, which had two bedrooms and baths (great for traveling with a teen) and a comfortable living and TV area and kitchen between the two rooms (each bedroom also had a TV). We had a lovely view of the river as well. The afternoon social hour is a very nice touch, and having some food available is also convenient, since we probably would have had to drive somewhere for dinner. Breakfast was great. The staff were helpful and checking in and out went smoothly. Overall, this is a great value, and Id highly recommend it.
We returned to this hotel because we were happy here last year. The person at the desk on this trip (Galen) was very nice, the room and bed was comfortable. Last year we got a bigger room, but a single bed was fine for the three of us--The pull-out sofa worked well for our daughter. It was a little tight with a dog crate, but we have a pretty big dog. The hotel is pet-friendly, and we try to be responsible dog-owners so it stays that way. Last year we could smell smoke in the halls, but that was not a problem this time. This is not a hotel for smokers, and as allergy-sufferers, we appreciate that. My family enjoys the pool--its small but pleasant, with a view of the Genesee out the windows, and plenty of space around it so not claustrophobic. The hot tub was great, though getting a little dirty around the edges by the end of the holiday. Proximity to the old tow-path along the river is nice if you are a walker or runner.
The hotel has very nice rooms. The desk staff was very helpful. The breakfast was very good altho the attendant needed to refill more quickly. The evening social was very nice. It would be nice if they had it every night. The pool was nice but I was disappointed that the hot tub was not working. That was one of the main reason I chose this hotel. If the hot tub is what you like, I would recommend that you call before you go to see if it is fixed.
This is a great a facility! Very helpful professional staff, great breakfast with healthy options, nice onsite convenience store. We enjoyed the fitness room and our daughter enjoyed the pool. Our one bedroom suite was very clean and well stocked. The bed was so comfortable, bedding lush, and noise level very low. I highly recommend this hotel!
We booked a short weekend trip down the 90 East from Buffalo to Rochester & stayed at Staybridge University Rochester & definitely made the right choice. From the time we checked in (Platinum elite)we were treated in a warm & welcoming way, receiving an upgrade & a bottle of wine because our room wasnt ready started off on such a positive vibe for us. The front desk staff on Saturday afternoon were friendly, professional & fun to chat with..We also know the Staybridge is dog friendly & thats always a plus as our Labradoodle felt right at home..The property itself is beautiful; unfortunately the weather wasnt cooperating & we could not enjoy the beautiful patio area. The breakfast buffet was well stocked & those employees were equally engaging, with smiling faces. Cannot find anything to complain about!! Keep up the great job!
Thank you for accommodating us during this crazy time. My brother-in-law passed away suddenly and there were many decisions to make in a very short time. We have stayed with you before and were very pleased so I knew who I was going to call first for hotel accommodations. I was so glad you had room and it was a 2 bedroom suite. Perfect for my husband, 3 daughters and myself. I was also very pleased that for breakfast you have a variety of items all packaged up for us to just pick up and go. Thank you for making a very stressful time a little bit easier.
We we here for a tour at the University of Rochester. The property is very convenient to the school and the shuttle staff took us to the school and we walked back since it was a nice day and the hotel is so close to the school. The night we arrived they suggested a nice restaurant and the shuttle driver offered to take us which was a plus since I had just driven 6 hours. I very much appreciated that service. They usually stop the service at 9pm but Jim was great and assured us he would wait until we were done with dinner so we would have a ride back. We were done earlier but again, that was a nice gesture on his part.My kids used the pool and we enjoyed the hot tub as well.Breakfast was good and the woman preparing the food was very nice and enjoyed talking with her. It wasnt too crowded either which made it more pleasant.
Room was clean. Bed and linens were comfortable. Easy access to local food/highways. Breakfast was simple but good. Kitchenette was good. Liked the access to walking trails.Didnt like the couch/chair, our suite was a bit on the small size. Bathroom was not very updated, there were some wear and tear with the walls, floor, etc. could use some new fixtures. Elevator was slow. Pool was ok but kids were diving, doing belly flops, no one from the hotel came to monitor etc while we were there 45 min. Also the hot tub was broken :/
We stayed here while helping our daughter move out of her U of R dorm for the summer. The staff were welcoming and helpful from the minute we checked in until checkout. We had a river view suite with a very pretty view of the U of R campus. This hotel has a social hour with food and complimentary drinks and we had a wonderful time meeting and socializing with other students and their families. This location is minutes away from campus. We liked it so much, we are planning to book here the next time we are in town !
Awesome stay!!! Just wish the pool and hot tub were open. But spotless!! Love the location and a good grab and go breakfast! Staff is helpful and friendly! Used to work in the industry and when I stay somewhere I think to myself is this somewhere I could or want to work...the answer is yes!
Our recent stay was amazing! We were attending a business conference in the area it was refreshing to be able to have a homebase while traveling that felt like home. Our rooms were very comfortable, quiet, and clean. Breakfasts were very well done and we could grab a quick coffee at anytime!
My wife and I had to visit the area for my daughters surgery at Golisano Childrens hospital. From the beginning we had a great experience. Robert helped us find the best room for our stay and him and the rest of the staff at Staybridge were friendly and made our trip enjoyable. They accommodated our request for early check-in due to being in the area early for covid-19 testing. We highly recommend this hotel and will stay there again if need be.
We were blown away by our experience at Staybridge! We were in Rochester for a medical appointment and chose Staybridge due to its proximity to the hospital. The location is wonderful, just a short walk over the pedestrian bridge to University of Rochester. The grounds are very well kept and the location overlooking the river is beautiful! The staff were amazing - the best service we’ve experienced - and so helpful with directions and other local tips/recommendations. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite which was very spacious and exactly what we needed. The social dinner experience was fantastic - first night was pork sliders and second night burgers

2022-04-13We love staying at Staybridge. The staff is fantastic, always friendly and helpful. Staybridge is very convenient to The University of Rochester, and it is easy to walk across the bridge and visit our daughter on campus. But during the past three visits at Staybridge, we have noticed the rooms are becoming very shabby, especially the bathrooms. The tiles are cracked and the walls are in need of paint. In the suites, not all the electrical outlets work. Recently, the rooms have been uncomfortably hot. Weve turned the thermostats down and have cracked the windows; even in March and April. While we love staying at the hotel, the rooms are in desperate need of updates and maintenance.

2022-03-21Recently stayed for over a month while working nearby. The hospital is less than a 5 minute drive. The rooms are clean and everything you need for a long-term stay. Lots of storage. The lobby is very inviting with a beautiful fireplace and view of the river. Bonus is the social hours M-W with apps and free drinks! Good breakfast variety. The best part was the front desk staff. Ben and the other members were so inviting and accommodating at all hours and gave great recommendations. Ended up feeling like neighbors by the end of it! Highly recommend for short or long term stays

2022-06-30At first glance its great. But when u look closer not so great. The toilet handle was broken. It worked but it was still broken. The shower head sprayed water in all direction. The hot water took a bit to get hot. There was a kitchenette but only 2 pots , no pan and one of the pots was rusty. Also the microwave was dirty and needed to be washed. We stayed 2 nights and no one came in to clean up ie change the towels and trash. While we were there. The bed was horrible u sunk into it. Definitely needs some work.

2022-05-17Depends on the time of year you stay. Ive been staying up there for my daughters medical needs at the University for a few yrs now. The hotel seems hit or miss on quality. Depending on the staff working. Its a sketchy area. Keep your doors locked obviously. Homeless wander and beg for money. The police do patrol regularly, which is slightly more comforting.

2022-02-20We have stayed at this hotel several times a year while our child was attending U of R. And we have always a had a great experience until this year(2021-2022) We tried to book a room in sept 2021 to visit our son for his birthday to find that they raised the rates substantially and added a “resort fee” because the hotel was a sponsor to a half marathon. AND they doubled the rates and required a minimum 3 night stay during graduation weekend. But the worst experience came on this trip. Friday, Feb 18 I received an email from stat ridge confirming my reservation for the following day. Imagine my surprise when we showed up at 4p on Saturday, Feb 19 to check in after being on the road for 9 hours to be told they cancelled our reservation because they overbooked. THEY overbooked. THEY confirmed the reservation less than 24 hours previously. THEY cancelled. THEY could offer us nothing. The guy behind the desk said it wasn’t THIER fault. And he was the only one working and he couldn’t do anything for us. NOTHING!!! He couldn’t help us find another hotel. NOTHING!!! Another employee was leaving and asked what was going on. The guy behind the desk explained what happened. The employee leaving told him to look for another hotel to call and confirm availability. So the guy behind the desk COULD help us. He just did NOT want too!!! This was extremely POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! He said I booked through “Booking” and it was their fault. BUT it was the hotel’s fault, THEY cancelled the day of the reservation and sent an email of which we did not receive because we were traveling. THEY should have solved this situation but the guy said it wasn’t his responsibility and he couldn’t do anything. I am EXTREMELY disappointed in the service and lack of communication. We will NEVER stay here again!!

2022-05-23Booked here for the suites. We booked a Riverview room. You can see from the pictures what the view was actually like. Room and Hotel are pretty tired looking. I can deal with all of the above if the price is right, but it wasnt -- far too much money for what youre getting here. Pool is out of commission as of mid-May 22.

2022-03-21If you like the RUN AROUND then Asst General Manager Anthony is your guy..i reserved a room over a week before arrival .I was coming into town 2 hours earlier then 3:00 pm and called for early check in , i was told i could not have it. when i placed my reservation a requested a 1 bedroom suit with a river view. Anthony put my in a studio on the other side of the hotel, i let him know that this is not what i reserved and their is no reason this room is not available for me . after 5 minuets of further discussion he tells me that he downgraded someone else to accommodate me.(i didnt need to hear that) nothing but friction from this guy. I am an IHG Member and i stay with IHG because i except a certain level of standards and This current training program is falling short to what i have grown to.

2022-06-07Clean and good sized rooms. Location on river and university is good. Neighborhood outside of the immediate block can be dicey
