If I could give this place zero stars I would.I’m piggybacking off of a previous post to say that I also have not had hot water in over a week. My heat was coming and going but thankfully it’s been working for the past few days. Similarly, a maintenance worker came to my door and gave me space heaters and said there was a burst pipe and I wasn’t going to have heat or hot water “for awhile”. And that was it. Absolutely no other information was given and no estimates to when this would be fixed. It’s illegal for tenants to be without heat and hot water for this long and nothing is being done. I have not seen any workers, trucks or any sort of equipment. It seems the people of Steeplechase and Morgan Properties don’t care that they are forcing people to live in an uninhabitable home. As long as we keep paying the egregious rent every month they can sleep at night.I’ve lived here for a little over a year and I’ve had other issues with this place that were major annoyances but I overlooked them. But I can’t overlook this. My fellow tenants and I don’t deserve to be treated like this and to pay an arm and a leg for it. DO BETTER.

We have not had hot water OR heat in over a week. We were left space heaters and a note saying “broke pipe, use this”. No calls, emails, anyone to our door letting us know what the issue is / was. We have been in negative temperatures all week in CENTRAL NY. I do NOT recommend. This is not our first complaint about this place.

Do not move in here. Grass gets mowed once every 2-3 weeks, maintenance orders take MONTHS to get done even for the smallest things. Staff is super nice but they promise things they dont deliver on. Had flooding in our bedroom for months and they didnt care. I have a renovated apartment but honestly a non renovated one probably wouldve been better as it seems whoever renovated it just put things up super fast and didnt even measure or make sure things were level. Do yourself a favor and spend a little extra month on a nicer apartment, especially if youre young as it seems they dont take things seriously when youre young. If Morgan Properties would give them more staff instead of making them manage two properties at once then i bet it would be better.

None of my work orders have been handled. The maintenance person that came to my apartment, merely looked around, told me it was fine for my dog to be out in the apartment while he looked around as long as she was friendly, and told me he would be back the following Monday. I have to be in the office two days a week, so I made sure to work from home that day and I would be there, but he never showed.This morning my washing machine leaked and the living room carpet is soaked. I put in another work order. I was already at work when I received a very rude call saying that I needed to leave work to put my dog away and that maintenance had tried called contacting me last week (still several weeks after my initial maintenance requests). Because of what the maintenance person said during his initial visit, I did not realize it would be a deterrence to getting service.Additionally, I have no missed calls from Steeplechase or any other 315 phone number.

These apartments are extremely outdated for the price of the rent. Management staff is unresponsive and cold. I moved in my apartment at the beginning of July, the middle of the pandemic, and my apartment was completely filthy from the previous resident! The management at the time refused to accommodate me for this, and only said “sorry.” For $1250 a month you would think they would take money off my rent. When I brought this up to the new management, they said “the old property manager no longer works here” as if that made up for moving into a hair filled, dirty, dusty apartment. Please do not move here, or any Morgan Property company if possible.

I have been a tenant here since April and my biggest complaint is the office staff. Maintenance typically takes a while to get to your work order, so with a non-working washer I attempted to call the office to see if I could get anyone here faster since I had laundry that needed to be done. When I first called the office I was given a number for maintenance and then abruptly hung-up on. When I called that number I was told it was the worker’s personal phone number and I shouldn’t have been given that number to contact maintenance. Embarrassing to say the least. I called back to the office to have the woman on the phone make a work order like I was told, and she was very rude and unprofessional again. I mentioned to her that the worker said she shouldn’t be giving out this number (so she wouldn’t give it out in the future, nobody deserves to have random tenants having their personal number) and she went on a rant to me about how it wasn’t her fault that was the number there and I was the one who asked for the number. When she finished the work order she said something along the lines of “are we done?” and then abruptly hung up again. Super unprofessional, unhelpful, and just plain rude. If it weren’t for the poor service here I wouldn’t be reconsidering renewing my lease next year.

Property looks completely different from photos based on the two units we were shown in person. Put a reservation deposit down since the online application said it was refundable, and then asked to have it refunded after seeing the property in person and comparing it to others weve seen. Apparently deposit can only be refunded within 72hrs, something the website leaves out and the property manager didnt mention when she charged my card. Disappointed, to say the least; and also out $500.

I have lived at the Steeplechase Apartments for one year now and I just renewed my lease for another year! It has been a great year and I am VERY happy here. I have lived at other complexes in the area and I can tell you that this is the only place you want to live. The area is just beautiful! I have made so many friends with all the great people who near me! The maintenance staff is so attentive when I call in a work order it is finished by the end of the day. The only problem I have ran into is that there is not a lot of parking in front of my apartment and I was having to walk very far from a parking spot into my apartment. I did call the office and they solved the problem right away by giving me a carport. I highly recommend Steeplechase to anyone looking to live in Camillus!

The area is great, but the apartments are extremely overpriced for what is offered. The apartments themselves are clean, but very outdated and they do not update no matter the length of time you live there. Also, it doesnt appear that they screen new residents like they did in the past. There are a lot of parties, drug use, noise and police calls in the evening. Definitely not safe at night and management does very little. There has been reported vandalism that again management does not address. There are definitely less expensive, more modern and safer rentals in the area. I would recommend alternative living.

Wont handle any noise complaints about stereos after 10 but will try to fine you for having children making noises. Worst apartments ever dont waste your time
