The absolute BEST mexican above the mason dixon line. Family owned and thats exactly how it feels. Love it here prices are excellent just like the service and food. I always get the rico!
Guests are constantly parking illegally and blocking the main intersection as well as driveways on the block even though theres a large parking lot 50 feet away. Owner has been called multiple times to ask them to move but continues to not care.
You come for the food but you come back for the one of a kind experience. Step into your Grandmothers 1970s paneled dining room with carpet and you are in Steves restaurant. Prepare your taste buds for some great Mexican food with cheap drafts!
Its a bar, a dive bar. Totally misrepresented here on Google. Mexican restaurants make a big deal out of cinco de mayo. Steves had a collection of drunks when we walked in first thing. When someone finally acknowledged our presents, the dont serve food on Saturdays. Beware consumer. Go to the Blarney stone a few blocks away. The burgers are awesome. Ill just wait till next cinco Dr mayo to get my margarita and Mexican food!
So good. I totally love the down home townie vibe, genuine simulated wood-grain paneling and super cheap prices. But, the best part is the food and service is so great.
Dave & Kathy do a phenomenal job! Daves kitchen is magical, wonderful friendly vibe in bar, great bartenders.

As always an absolute treat on thursdays and Fridays. Excellent Mexican food, damn good host, comfy place. Parking is small but the place is too larger trucks wont fit, which is good.

2020-12-21We have been going here since 2013. The food is always consistent. The food selection is small, however the big tex/mex places have big menus but just mix and match the same 3 or 4 things that Steves has. So the menu is simplified for us Irishmen. In a nutshell, you choose the stuffing (chicken, pork or beans) then you choose how to fill up the rest of your plate with either rice, beans or veggies, or any combination. THEY SERVE FOOD ONLY ON THURS./FRI. THEY ONLY ACCEPT CASH. There is an ATM on site. Both my kids love going there. They get the cheese quesadilla. The restaurant accommodates about 30 people total. The server, Kathy, is great. The cook, Dave, sometimes comes out and chats if its not too busy. It is funny that we see the same people when we go there, and it is obvious when people go there for the first time.

2021-11-05Very friendly place! You can pick anything on the menu and its awesome!I went with my wife and a friend and we all got something different and we all tried each others dinners, and nobody could decide which one they like better.

2020-01-24Thursday night you will find my friends and I at Steves to eat Daves delicious meals! Every week does not disappoint! And his specials are out of this world. This is true home cooked Tex Mex and made with true passion!

2018-05-02David Walker cooks some of the best Mexican food at this eatery on Thursday and Friday evenings from 5 PM till... The bar offerings are tasty, generous and priced right.I recommend asking about ( and going with) Daves nightly special. The dish is always firmly Mexican but will have Daves unique twist to it. Do like I do - have a seat and tell Kathy the special and a Saranac please. For over a decade, it has been winning experience.

2018-01-12Probably the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. And the service was top notch felt like I was eating at my moms house. Small menu but I guess it’s true good things always come in small packages. Told all my buddies about it and I will definitely be back.

2018-09-25MEXICAN FOOD THURSDAY AND FRIDAY ONLY. Delicious and great prices on food and drink. Dave, the owner and chef is a great guy and very friendly. Dont be confused when you enter the bar... Head to the back dining room for some great food.

2019-05-09No way can you go wrong with incredible food from Dave in the kitchen and a cold cocktail from Katie at the bar! Also great Cantina nights on Thursday & Friday. Another fantastic Tipp Hill dinner shared with my Dad at Steves!
