Stew Leonards in other cities:
Always enjoy this place. Fun place to shop with children.Edit: From 4 stars to 1 because of cheese I bought 2 days ago that has an expiration date in July but it has mold on it.Makes me wonder if they put old cheese with new cheese together, whatever they do, make sure you inspect everything you buy. Dont go by the expiration date on the label.
HORRIBLE! Zero stars for your Deli TODAY.I do not know how your staff would sell this terrible cold cuts I was given today. This product is disgusting. I had no chance to see it before it was packaged, and until I opened it up at home, I expected good, normal sliced turkey. No precut product available, I had to order directly from the counter . No slices were shown before I accepted the cut and accept A big mistake! Never again! What has happened to your quality control? Are you forgetting the customer?
Stew Leonards East Meadow. I purchased what I thought was Chicken Parmesian. The label said Chicken Parmesian. But to my surprise when I heated my dish it was eggplant. I returned a few days later with the product and a very nice customer service rep took back the pkg and I purchased another. To my surprise she also gave me a$15 gift card towards my next purchase. Great customer service that goes above and beyond to make guest feel wanted. Thank you Stew Leonards 😘 I will always recommend this location to friends & family.
I have been a customer for many years at this location. I am grateful that during a time when most stores complain of supply chain issues, Yonkers Stew Leonards remains stocked with fresh veggies and organic meat products. Thank you to this store for not price gouging this Memorial Day holiday weekend May 2022.
First time visiting this store with kids, it was a nice store with many options, seafood and variety of meats and produce, coffee and desserts, photo cake is an option here. Decorations are nice and kid friendly. But the cost is a little pricey, so that was the downside. Overall nice big store with huge parking spots.
Nice store with lots to choose from. You need to train your customer service reps to not accuse customers of stealing when using self checkout. She basically accused me of not scanning a yogurt that was already scanned and sitting there waiting for me to bag up. It’s $1.00 yogurt. Think I want to be jailed for a $1.00 item on a Friday? Do better when dealing with the public. Things could of went south but I had my kids with me and I was tired.
If your having a party this is the place to stock up, one stop for veggie trays, butcher, baker, coffee pre-made salads, hot foods, beer, wine and liquor ! Oh My! And lots more! And the best deal on refills for your BBQ propane tanks. It might take some time to find someone to do the refill but still worth the wait.
I used to love going to Stew Leonards with an ex of mine. Ive been real nostalgic lately so I decided to stop by today. When we used to go, roughly 10 years ago, the ice cream was $1. Its now $2.75. We never paid for the ice cream though because we would buy so much grocery that we qualified for the free ice cream in the end. But I didnt realize the food at the salad bar was $10/pound and got a well-portioned to go container for 2.6 pounds- which came to $26. 😳 I came together! I understand the country hit an inflation, but I dont even spend that much on dinner! Let alone from a buffet! 🙄 I paid for my meal, went to my car and ate some prior to shopping. They say you shouldnt go food shopping while hungry. So when I finished eating, I returned inside to go food shopping and became sticker shocked! The prices in there have become outta control! 😱 Not even the supermarkets in my Washington Heights neighborhood in New York City costs that much! Roughly 80-90% of their products are overpriced by 2 to 3 times than what you should have to pay for! Including the flowers/plants/soil in the nursery! After having this sticker shock, I dipped and left to BJs, Target, and Home Depot where the prices looked better and relatively normal.Stew Leonards! What happened?! I refuse to believe the inflation hit us that hard! I mean youre selling blueberries 🫐 for $5 for a small box, when I can get it in my neighborhood for just $1 at the market and at Target for $3 (which is also in my neighborhood). Youre selling a bag of soil for $12 when Home Depot has a great special, 5 bags for $10! Same brand and everything!Im sorry, but I dont think Ill be going back again. This country in pinching every penny out of us and I just cant do that anymore. I dont even live in Yonkers so its ok. I wish you well.
First time going to this supermarket. I was in the area for my job and decided since I was in Yonkers, why not stop by. Someone told me the fruits looks just like how they did on TV and since Im picky about my fruits I said why not. The fruits where disappointing. I didnt see one fruit that I wanted to buy. As Im from Brooklyn I found the prices here very high. They did have a nice seafood section. Overall Ill stick to my local supermarkets, BJs and Costco.
STEW LEONARDS, is like a destination super market. I always feel like I am going on an adventure when I am shopping here. The lay out of the store is very well thought out. The flow of the store moves you through the market in one direction from the entrance to the exit. While grabbing your attention at every turn. With amazing displays and animated puppets/characters.As well as having a great selection of the highest quality fruits, vegetables, meats, pultry, and dairy products. The carry some many items that I cant find anywhere else. And the Hot food.. Everything in the Hot food section is delicious. The store is very clean. The workers are the friendliest. The service at the register/ check out. Is always fast and pleasant.Did I mention the on-site liquor store???!!!! Yes, the have their own liquor store. The parking is free in their huge STEW LEONARDS, Customers dedicated parking lot.If you have never been to STEW LEONARDS, if you are going shopping anytime soon. I would definitely recommend that you add STEW LEONARDS to your must go to locations.
This store is next to costco. There is so much traffic trying to get into the Costco on the weekends. The stew Leonards has a lot of parking. They have a liquor store connected to the store that is clean and a lot choices. The customer service in the liquor store is great. I am not a big fan of the actual grocery store. First of all, there are so many people shopping. It gets hard to move without bumping into people. You cant easily walk to get to the specific things you need. If you want fish then you need to walk through the bakery, produce and meat department. Basically, You are forced to walk through the entire store because There is no escape. There is just one entrance and one exit. You are walking down this one crowded path like a line to a roller coaster. This is the store trying to get you to buy more. There are several creepy anomatronic dolls that sing and move. Last time there we dancing and singing avocados. It smells soon good in the store. It smells like sweets straight from the oven. There is are small stores that sell ice cream and coffee at a great price. The loyalty card gives you a free coffee or ice cream if you spend enough. Also, there is a large selection of prepared food. Also, it has a lot of home made items like chips and baked goods. There is not a lot of choice for some products like cereal, frozen foods or chips. I think that you either hate it or love it. But its worth giving it a shot.
EXCEPTIONAL, ABOVE AND BEYOOOOOND, STELLAR SERVICE! I can’t put into words the gratitude and appreciation that I have for the supervisor Herbie! I have never experienced the level of service that Herbie extended to our bridal party to make sure we had the cupcakes for our guest at the bridal shower! Thank yoooooou!!!
Shoprite, stop & shop, Whole foods, food universe, foodtown, and even Fairways can all eat their heart out. Stew Leonards is everything you need and more in a grocery store organized like Ikea, so instead of aisles you simply tour the entire store, section by section. Honestly its ingenious because youll know youve covered all your bases by the time you reach the register. And when I say they have everything, I mean everything. Everything from bakery and deli all the way up to hot food a cafe and a wine department. The store will leave you wanting for nothing, and frankly youll have a hard time finding something you dont like about it. Dont waste any more time. What you need is in stock at Stew Leonards.
First off let me start by saying this is strictly for the Barn BBQ area(Yonkers). Stew Leonard’s the grocery store remains a family favorite And have been going to for many many years. We drive down to stew Leonard’s BBQ Barn for ice cream and lately hot dogs. Since March of 2022 their quality has gone down the drain. The staff is friendly but “cooks” in the back that actually make the food. I’m not sure of. Today I took my kids for hot dogs and ice cream, we ordered two regular hot dogs, first set of two were given burnt I then send back the hot dog. Unfortunately I did not take a picture of the first set, this is the second set I received back…..clearly the bbq staff are on a “idgaf” mood. I don’t have the patience or the time, I literally threw the it out didn’t bother with refund and walked out. Safe to say we will no longer visiting the barn for Burnt bbq food.
The freshest fruits and veggies you will ever buy from a store. The variety is awesome. Can be a bit pricey but you’re paying for quality so I’m ok with it. Huge store. The sell prepared food there also. There’s a bakery on premisesForget Arby’s. They have the meats! 😁Feeling lush.. the sell spirits at a very good price too
I could just go for the ice cream, but I might as well do the grocery shopping and pick up some wine while I’m out. Besides it being ridiculous crowded because it’s a great grocery store with pretty fresh produce and meats, I enjoy coming to Stew’s. Have been since I was a child and enjoyed all the puppets in the store. Now they just freak me out lol. Always a good experience and very friendly staff.
Still an amazing food shopping experience after all these years. Yes, it can get a bit crowded, and if you forget something, going back against the flow can be a hassle, but the advantages far outweigh the negatives. Meat and produce is always fresh, and pretty reasonably priced, even in these inflationary times. Samples are always fun. Prepared meals are also good for lunch and dinners during the week. Plenty of delicious desserts and holiday platters to choose from. Place is clean, and always well stocked, even with current supply chain issues. I feel lucky to have Stews in the neighborhood.
Meat with mold on it. Thanks, Stew Leonards. Now I have to drive all the way back and deal with the giant crowd again. And Im still hungry! This was my first time picking up a sandwich from here, but now I guess Ill never get to try one since I cant trust your food safety procedures.
I purchased a $100+ tree for Christmas 2021 on December 16th & it didn’t even make it until Christmas. It died. Even with being persuaded to buy the “miracle tree” that the store sells. I’ve never really shopped there before, as I’m new to this area. But don’t buy a tree from them.
Horrible. Picked up a cake that we had a custom top for. They said theyll add it that day at pickup. I go and they hand me a plain white cake and say I gotta do it myself. 1st lady was incredibly rude and started going off in Spanish to her coworkers saying God knows what. Then the 2nd lady helping was nice but took the details and left it for someone else who put the wrong name on the cake so much more nonsense. But after 3 cakes and a extra $11 I got a cake that was semi acceptable but still not what we wanted. And somehow all the noise and complaints and asking for a manager I never got a manager
Stewart Leonards is our go to for local foods and most importantly, our Christmas Tree 🎄. We find that getting the tree early after Thanksgiving is the best time. Mid-December may be the absolute worst time.As for the shopping experience, its not the most spacious spot but everything is organized and labeled in big font. With Costco down the hill, I find that this is perfect for smaller families or couples rather.
Place was jammed , mucho ppl , everywhere !! Of course ! ! The got a huge selection of trees , all the accessories needed as well . And the prices !! Did I mention the prices ? Unbelievable ! Ya just gotta go see for yourself. Gr8 trees of all the popular types- all sizes-- at amazingly low price points . Just GO ! ! ! even tho the place was mobbed it was a quick smooth transaction . Lots of help with a well planned smooth transition- from the time we walked in to getting our tree secured to our vehicle was about a half hour. Tree , tree stand n 4 sets of lites . All under a buck and a half and 30 minutes.
Everyone there is super nice and helpful. They have a great selection of fruits and veggies and its always fresh. Use the kiosk to pre-order from the deli to save you some time. If youre hungry, they have hot food at the end. Try their sandwiches. And did I mention their fish market? They occasionally surprise me with king fish, which is hard to find. The only weird thing is that you cant get a hanger steak here. I asked the butcher about it and he said its not a cut they get for some reason. Weird.
Very entertaining experience shopping there. All of the food, no matter what department is top of the line. They get very crowded on weekends so i would recommend going during the week. Butcher area is amazing they have gigantic steaks if you want or they will custom cut to your preference. Also saw the biggest strawberry Ive ever seen.
I love this place. Everything is so fresh and the employees are so pleasant. A man in the seafood department helped me. I should have gotten his name. He would know me if pretty salmon was mentioned. He was awesome and very patient.Desi, the cashier was so wonderful. I felt as if she was my friend and I just met her that day. I really hope she gets some recognition.Keep up the good work Stew Leonards!!!
If you want an amusement park experience during your supermarket trip this is the place. Probably the perfect super market if you have kids. From what Ive heard there was much more entertainment before the pandemic. Im sure itll be back eventually. Wide selection, great prices. The Deli section however was not that appealing if Im being honest. Took quite a while to pick something and sadly it was a regret. The fried chicken bucket is okay, but youd likely be better off getting the rotisserie meats which have much more flavor. Produce is fresh and lots of fresh herbs for those who know their way around a kitchen.
The security guard/cop at the front needs to stop racial profiling Asian people. I came into the store Wednesday morning around 10AM (1/5/2022) to get some shopping done, as soon as I come in he starts glaring at me. After I finish shopping and was leaving he was staring at my tote full of groceries. Not cool at all. I purposely put the time and date so that Stews can actually look which officer was working the front at the time.
I’ve always seen this place when I’m in the area for the mall. Never thought to go in until I got so curious and decided to go. I am glad I did! This place is beyond amazing! I’ve been coming here since the summer and NO other Stew Leonard’s is like this one. Always fully staffed, always greeted with friendly and helpful associates. NIDHI, our cashier for tonight, was especially helpful in the way that she assisted us for our transactions. She is quick, diligent, and efficient. I didn’t get the chance to put her name in the box for an employee nomination because I didn’t have a pen, but I wish I did. She is very courteous and helpful. You rock, NIDHI!!!
By far, the Best local food store in the area. The meat and dairy are the best. The seafood and veggies are fresher here than almost anywhere. And the wine store starts you off perfectly only to finish with an ice cream at the end. If I could pick one store to buy my food at forevermore, Stews would be it. You have to visit, especially if you have never enjoyed it before. The expanded selection of organics is great and the ready to eat food section has grown into a spot that everyone can find something they enjoy!
Based on sporadic good reviews I made a stop to Stew Leonards last week. What a huge disappointment. It was my first and last time to visit this dystopian shopping nightmare.Shopping at Stew Leonards is like taking your worst of Fairway experience in Manhattan and genetically splice it with your worst of Ikea experience ever. For starters, the layout of the store is like a giant rat maze; you start in one end of the maze and you can not get out until you walk the entire store. Total nightmare if you just want to grab a gallon of milk and a dozen eggs.Second, as a well educated consumer, I like to stop and read labels, inspect ingredients, and assess nutritional value, etc. But by forcing people to march through the maze it creates a seething flow of people like dam water released through a narrow sluice gate; with a family of 6 bouldering double wide shopping cart through the aisles. Pause for a fraction of a second and glaring soccer moms low key threaten to shank a person. All this to say I bought a quarter gallon of sugar water when I thought I was buying 100% real maple syrup. My bad. (Actually, Stew Leonards bad for selling anything other than 100% real maple syrup.)Finally, and this is really my biggest gripe. The store setup intentionally discourages comparing prices. Traditionally, like-minded products are grouped together so I can compare which organic whole milk is the best value. At Stew Leonards, they have three different areas, spread out over the entire length of the maze, to buy a 1/2 gallon of milk. If I wanted to price check I would have to go in the opposite direction of traffic (ha!) to look at milk options I had passed. I dont have a grand champion The Price is Right knowledge of groceries so I just sucked it up and paid an extra dollar (more or less who really know) for my groceries and was out.
The selection is great, the food at theyre small kitchen is excellent. The server named Augustine was able to help me out with my order and he along with the staff were kind and professional. The supermarket is always a good place to go for a coffee and new ingredients. A must go to place for quality goods! I highly recommend the surf and terf dish for 20 bucks. A good meal for a good price!
If you dont like crowds, go during off hours or have a game plan. It gets very busy in the middle of the day. That said, their produce is top notch. Corn on the cob delivered fresh daily during the summer. Decent cuts of meat at prices better than a lot of other places. Decent craft beer selection as well.
I love it here. They have a great selection of grocery and their branded stuff is really good. Bakery and meat are always super fresh. Their drive up pick up option via instacart has been an absolute game changer during the pandemic. They always get my order right and deliver it to my car with a smile. Also, my go to for great steak and lobster :)
Stew Leonards is great! Some of their prepared foods are a little pricey but otherwise the place is awesome. They have bagels that are beyond tasty. Excellent meats and local produce. Their new shoppers app is also great for store rewards...who doesnt want free ice cream or coffee?!
This isnt a good place because they allow the reps to disrespect you. There was a girl there name nadia and shes still there disrespecting the customers and its bad service the service is disgusting. The female names nadia is nasty an rude and disrespectful person. I rate this place a 0... they dont respect the customers service. They said customers are always right thats a lie they have nothing call professionalism in this place, the girl name Nadia is disgusting and the dont deserve none of my money. I want to vomit this place. Because of her. I dont recommend no family or friends to this place. No co workers... she is very ignorant and awful this girl Is a themost disgusting an disturbing behavior I ever seen.... nasty person they need to fire her from this place.
This is the second time in the last few months where I have purchased food that was spoiled or inadequate. I purchased a roasted chicken and it was extremely dry and tough. Feel it was cooked a few days before. Today I went back and was looking at fresh crab cakes and there were ones there that were expired October 31st and today is November 4 th. I purchased liverwurst and when I opened it up most of the slices were brown but hidden by the top one which looked ok. I will not be going back there. Poor quality checks and outdated and not fresh foods.
On Christmas Eve I picked up my dinner order for Christmas from the catering department. The process was so easy and fast. The staff were very courteous. The mealI purchased was the brisket with mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese. The whole meal was absolutely delicious. No doubt I probably will be purchasing again from Stew’s. Always have an excellent experience shopping here. The Yonkers store is the best!
You really can’t fault Stew Leonard’s in Yonkers. Everything is fresh, top quality and supremely well laid out. The vegetables, meat and fish counters are hugely impressive. Everything flows from the moment you enter the store.Best of all you have multiple check outs and never have to wait for assistance. The staff are professional, super friendly, with that can’t do enough for you attitude.Always a great experience here.....this is a truly wonderful (premium)store. You get what you pay for, and it really is a pleasure spending money here.
Great selection of fresh produce, meat and condiments. I believe in premium prices but since we are near the holiday and what is around us maybe a discount in the butcher or even the store itself might be a generous offering. I use to shop here often meaning the new location but havent been entice as I used to from the sales.
My child wanted to try Dole whip, so I drove out there. The day was warm with a breeze the scenery of the mountains beautiful. The store was clean. We bought some basic stuff. Headed for the ice cream got a double chocolate shake delicious, Dole whip. Headed for burger barn. The food is cooked fresh. The burger bigger then the bun but kept falling out. Got two burgers with grilled ones one with avocado. They were delicious
I was there today, the day before Thanksgiving to pick up a catering order. Before that I did some shopping. There were plenty of cashiers and no waiting for checkout. The catering department was fantastic at helping everyone and getting orders out quickly. A HUGE ROUND OF APPLAUSE for everyone at this store. Awesome job everyone
This place is GREAT! I wish I had one closer to my house, I would only shop here. Great products and prices. Clean, Great Staff, Fun to shop here. Cool specialty items, great beer selection inside and wine shop on the way out. Dont forget to get some ice cream on the way to your car!
I always love to come to Stew Leonards because it has a very welcoming atmosphere and the quality of the foods is not only extremely fresh but superior. I especially like to shop for fish and am never disappointed by the selection, freshness nor quality - prices notwithstanding those on sale are generally competitive. The associates throughout the store are always cordial as well as genuinely nice. Theres plenty of free parking and the restrooms clean. The liquor store which is adjacent is a pleasure to go to and never disappoints me with its huge selection of wines as well as spirits. I also must mention the gardening section which can address some minor gardening issues. There is also a bottle redemption area here.
Great place to bring the kids. ( Potentially overwhelming to sensory sensitive children.)Large selection of items. Bustling market with fresh fish, deli, bakery, pizza and hot foods counters. Good variety of specialty items. I never seem to wait on line very long. Cashiers move quickly. Download the app!*Ms. Sonya in Hot Foods is the BEST!!!*
Generally, they have very fresh produce, fish and seafood, salads and vegetables. Their hot bar and steam table is also good. Their meat counter has great specials on a rotating basis from porterhouse to filet mignon to racks of rib lamb chops to rib eye and tomahawk steaks. They give good value and have good inventory. Their delicatessen is good and their dairy products are outstanding. Their poultry is good.. Overall, it is a very good place to shop for what they sell.
I always go here for certain items I cannot get elsewhere. If you like quality and unique items, this is the place to go. Reminds me of a fairway, but with some items of better quality. Some of My go tos are the buttered croissants , the chicken pot pie, the sparkling apple juice, and the large sarabeths strawberry raspberry jam.
Great atmosphere. Really kind and helpful employees. A funny and interesting objects to catch at every corner. The Frozen Foods meat Seafood look fresh. Unfortunately the prepared food is completely dry, looks very old, they just put a questionable in general. Wish I got some ice cream! download the app if you havent gone before to possibly get a small ice cream cone after spending $100, which is pretty easy to do since their prices are almost Whole Foods level.
Great place to shop for good high quality items. A little pricey but worth it if you like to cook with good ingredients & they offer great sales anyway. The staff is professional, helpful, polite & friendly and they act as if they actually enjoy working for Stews and I believe they do. Kids love it because its a fun store for them too. They get to play with the cartoon like animatronics ( I think thats the correct term for them) and in warmer weather they get to feed actual farm animals that are on site (possibly not during this period of Covid though). Still a great place to shop with the whole family
While shopping this morning I was assisted by a very nice man in the meat department who explained something to me. The cashier was very nice. The woman who was directing people to the lines was rude and dismissive. Because she was so snotty and spoke to me with disrespect I am not going back, I can get meat anywhere without the attitude.
Stew Leonards is great, it is the only place I get meats. The staff is friendly and even when there are a lot of people there you dont have to wait long to check out. Get their app and for every 100 dollars you spend you can get a free ice cream or coffee. They also have a wine and liquor store with a large variety of products for your alcohol consumption needs
Felt like I was being herded like cattle at this store. I came here because I heard they had good ice cream but their store brand ice cream has corn syrup in it. Even the premium stew leonards ice cream has it. They both taste like typical cheap and artificial ice cream.
Nicely run outside with the social distancing but inside not so much. Everyone wore a mask and most wore gloves, plenty of disinfectant wipes available. Store was spotless. I was happy to go there today as I havent been to a market in four months and Stews is my favorite market. Great deal on lobster tails this week. Make sure to get yours. You can no longer get your free ice cream or coffee if you dont have the Stew Leonard app which I didnt have but the customer service representative was kind enough to ok it for me. I know its to avoid contact but not everyone has that capacity on their phone or what happens if your cell battery dies.
The selections are always fresh, well labeled and neatly placed. They have a large variety of fruits and veggies. Plus love the fish section with its prepared salads and much more! At Christmas time the air is filled with the aroma of evergreen and apple cider making this place a real treat to visit! Best shopping experience ever!
I ordered 90 apple pies and it all went off without a hitch. When I got there to pick up they had them all packaged nicely and waiting for me and had someone help me load all to my car. It all went off without any sort of a hitch which is one of the reasons I love Stews!
Been coming to Stews Yonkers since they opened. Pandemic has changed a lot of their family activities but my kids are grown now so not a big deal. Great food and dinner packages. Curbside pick up available for catering. Never had a bad experience here. Always helpful staff.
Ive learned to buy an item that is unusual. For example, theres no better dill pickles than Heinz. They sell large jars that Ive never seen before - not even in California, where theyve covered the market. Thank goodness I bought them two for $5 (something like that). I gifted the other to my precious friend who drives us there. That was around Christmas, and I havent seen those jars since. Also, they make a cheese and sweet something (cant remember). I didnt think it would taste good, but decided to double-back and give it a try. OH! MY! GOSH! It was so good 😊! She said they only sell at Christmas time. But Im hard-headed.I couldnt believe that something so good would only be sold on one occasion. Wouldnt they miss sales? That product could bring them more profits... WRONG! 😩 If they say once a year, believe them! They mean once a year. I cant wait for December. In fact, I think Ill call first 😃. Its like a treasure hunt.Oh yeah, thank goodness they have a liquor store, too; Im going to make vanilla flavoring.
Who doesnt love Stews? We came to get our Christmas tree here. They are a little expensive but lots of trees are these days. You pay for 6-7 so get as close to 7 as you can. Mine is about 65 and $70. We come to the butcher shop when we want good steaks. The porterhouse is the way to go. We usually grab it when its like $8.99 a pound.
Ordered delivery today thru instacart. Delivered food most of which we threw out. Shrimp had expired, produce appeared to be chosen from the most expired batch ready to be discarded, and many items missing. We have shopped at Stews for many years and are shocked at the lack of quality of what they delivered to us today! We will never order delivery from them again and are so appalled at the quality of food delivered (at a 15% premium in price I might add!) that we are considering never shopping there again ! Absolutely awful! And I am not a person who takes the time to write such reviews. In fact, this is the first I’ve ever written. I felt it necessary to write this as a public service as the quality of the food delivered was so extraordinarily poor!
Everything is fresh. I buy my veg, poultry and dairy there. Their breakfast foods selection ie. home made muffins, is choc full of variety and consistently fresh. Salads? Fresh. Prepared foods? Fresh. But stay away from the sea food section. Cant miss it, cus you goin smell it before you see it. Grab the seasonings (also in that section) and run...
I rarely go to Stew Leonards but when I go it feels like I am walking through a farm especially during the holidays when shopping on the outside of the store. I love the cartoons they have performing for the customers. Although Stew Leonards is pricey I still have a good time with my family!
The food here is always first rate, though a little pricey. Since it rained, everyone came to shop. The line fornstire entry moved quickly and there were disinfecting towelettes for the carts.Today however we checked out the garden area. Hundreds of plants and flowers, all organized and displayed nicely. The beauty, no lines! Beforewarned, the potting soil and mulch is on a lower level. Head for the propane refill and you have it. The garden register is on the store level
I love Stew Leonards!! I come to The Farm all the time. They have a fantastic selection of everyday foods. Whether its steak, soups or seafood, they have what you want. The delicious smell of their breads, which are made on site. The variety of foods to taste as you walk around, especially on the weekends, adds to the overall experience. They arent the cheapest price wise, but they do have weekly deals on steak and other items in their circular. Its a great place for lunch with their outdoor fast food grill, grabbing a pastrami hero in the deli section or taking a bite from their buffet selection. They mix farm fresh and gourmet supermarket very well. Stop by and have taste! Oh I dont want to forget their liquor market as well! Their selection of wine to whiskey is top notch!! Go visit!!
This was my first time here. It was everything I was led to believe, fun and great shopping experience. I was surprised that it was laid out like Ikea in a linear pattern. Foods were strategically placed together including some nice espresso to start your trip with. Just had their smoked salmon and bagels this morning and they were great! Looking forward to my next visit
When I am in the area from Washington DC I always stop in for a great meal at SL, yesterday 4 Mar i was disappointed - the Shrimp Sushmi rolls were substandard! The shrimp were over cooked and the rest of the item was rock hard. Very disappointed in the lack of quality control on this dish, someone needs to check on the chef they must have been having a bad DAY.
Stew Leonards is like Candyland for adults. How can you possibly get so many interesting and divine foods under one roof. Stew Leonards has a little something for everyone. From the freshest fruits and vegetables to the decadent baked goods and premier meats, you cant go wrong at Stews. They truly have a little or a lot of something (good) for every.body
I’ve shopped at stews for years . I’ve always treasured their customer service but I had the worst experience with the butcher. I walked in the store at 8:00 PM. I walked around the store and reached the butcher exactly at 8:19. Closing time is 9:00 PM as advertised. After I approached the butcher about a select Cut of meat I called about before, he shewed me away and told me “if it’s not outside he can’t help me”. He was very rude and told me I can’t come around 8:30 and request service. I explained the closing time and he got attitude and brushed me off again. Another customer noticed and was also disappointed. I made my complaint in the front and the girl told me to submit my feedback online. I hope stew sees this and restored the integrity this grocery chain once had. It’s a shame and a turn off.
Very busy store with fresh produce and meat. Im not sure if its this busy all the time but on a Sunday the place is packed. But even then the line up isnt so bad. The place is huge with all you will need to get a great meal or two ready for yourself or a small party. The staff are helpful and knowledge. The fresh icecream is the best way to cool down in a hot summer day. They have the best choice of breads, vegetables and fruits.i love the cheese section as well with good healthy choices.
I wish i had one closer to home! me and my family went there to get groceries, and it was amazingly cheap! great food, great service, and we got a christmas tree. i would give it 5 stars, if is wasnt for the horrifying animatronics. especially stewie the duck. his music was abysmal and he was terrifying. and there were chickens that looked like depressed furbies over the chicken meat who sung a unheard song. but all and all, it was awesome!
The most awesome-est supermarket in the world, provided you have little kids or are one yourself.Acres of great food, wonderful prices and really nice people willing to help at any time. But most importantly, dancing bananas and cheesy animatronics make this place magically fun.
The food overall is good and somewhat fairly priced. But I avoid shopping at this store for two main reasons. The noise and the sense that the overall store is not clean. The noise from the clacking carts on the tiled floors, to the mooing to the incessant music, to the machines. Its just noise pollution that makes me want to get out of there as fast as possible. The sense that the place is not clean. The lighting is dingy, the shelves dont feel clean. When you look at the prep areas, there seems to be this sense that all is coated in grease. Some of the signs are old and the whole place just needs a serious cleanup, better lighting and an update. It does not inspire confidence and the country-disney-feel-entertainment of what was cool once, is not meeting the expectations of a more sophisticated shopper who feels yucky after leaving the store. I sense many other feel the same way. And the labyrinth-approach to drive more sales, may be a smart approach, but I just find it annoying. And other minor, but annoying item. The tasting stations - was there on a Saturday and only 1 was open, and the food was still cooking...so no samples...and would not have eaten them anyway, as they are on these flimsy aluminum sheets on a wooden counter that was painted 5 years ago. Just yucky.
What a mess. I waited on line 1 hour and 40 minutes for my curbside pickup Thanksgiving dinner. Nobody knew what was going on, total chaos. To top it all off, they shorted me a side of mashed potatoes. Never again Stew Leonards, NEVER.P.S.The on hold music with the owners daughters obnoxious voice is too much. We get it, your a family owned business, its not cute anymore. get it together.
Nice store. Very clean and well stocked. Limited gluten free alternatives. Unfortunately you will not find freshly baked gluten free bread here. :(.Staff is extremely friendly and helpful and they are everywhere and accessible which is a plus. I do not shop regularly here though I admit the quality is far superior to other supermarkets. I find the prices a bit high unless they are on sale then it is worth it. Fun for kids. Lots of buttons and animatronics throughout the store to keep them occupied.
I wish i could rate them a negative five. The people who work there are just plain rude. You can tell they dont like there job one bit. I just dont understand how this can be happening. Its a pandemic outside and your considered to be an essential store. All the fruits are frozen not fresh as they were once sold, the hot food bar is constantly reheated food, and let me just start off by saying trying to get a manager to help you out with anything results in an attitude and no compassion for the customer. They use to be good but now they are trashy.

2022-05-16I bought a birthday cake for a party we had yesterday. Ordered the cake 24 hours in advance, emailed the photo to the department, and picked out the colors, flavor, and size of the cake. The flavor options are vanilla, chocolate, or both. We went with both. It was like a marble cake. Some slices were pure chocolate, some vanilla, and some had both. The cost was about $44 for the largest sheet cake. They did an amazing job! We got a lot of compliments on the cake. The main question was Is the photo edible?. Yes it is. An employee was also kind enough to help me bring the cake to my car as I went to pick it up with two kids and a stroller. I think many of our local friends that attended the party may get their next cake at Stews.

2022-05-15I love shopping at stews and getting my free ice cream. The ice cream reminds me of my childhood and how old fashion ice cream taste. I love the freshness of their fruits and vegetables. The age steak is a must try. Live a little!!! The best lamb chops, sushi and hot food in town. The pizza is one of a kind!!! I saved the absolute best for last the seafood....

2022-03-02I love taking my kids to Stew Leonards! Its not just a shopping trip, its an experience. They love pressing the buttons for the animatronic shows and getting ice cream cones and the farm animals! Highly recommended if you have small children. The produce is also very fresh.

2022-05-09Never been in a Stew Leonards. Got to say, I am impressed! So many choices in so many different areas! Meat is a bit expensive. But I bought a fair amount to see if it is worth it. Many of my friends say it is. So I hope I am not disappointed. But plan to be back again no matter what.

2022-07-02This was my first time, and I had some specific things I was looking for. I found the store easy to manage and find the things I was looking for, quickly. Havent eaten the food yet, but the shopping experience was great, will definitely go again.
