This is the second time in a row that our food took so long, we got it to go. It wasnt very busy. Our favorite waitress Delaine is leaving. They turned the homey Borios into a stark institutional look. The lights were brighter than an operating room. Will never go back. Oh the food when we got it home was average.
My husband and I used to be regulars at Borios. We went back a couple weeks ago to check out Stones and the new menu.I ordered fish- it was cold and the coleslaw was rotten. I took only took one bite of each thing and nothing was said or done about it.The crazy thing is the manager was right next to us hearing our complaint but didn’t bother to look up from his phone. We were charged for everything… I told the sever again I was served cold, rotten food and she said there was nothing she could do about it.
Went there for our one year anniversary hoping to have a nice dinner. Reservation not honored, tried wedging us in a (packed) bar booth, then put us behind the service station where they spray menus all night. Our server was friendly and attentive. Menu seem super Limited, but maybe thats covid-19? Food was ok, drinks sucked (maybe because bar was busy?)
We had my Brother and Sister in Laws baby shower here today. It was a brunch. The staff did great (except when they tried to clear my plate while I was still eating and swooped it right up from me.)But the food was really delicious they did a wonderful job with their catering brunch. There was french toast, fruit salad which was a huge hit with all the kids, amazing potatoes, scrambled eggs, ham, green beans and several sweet and savory croissants.Everything turned out lovely the staff had things set up great and were very quick to refill water glasses etc and did their job wonderfully with 11 children ages 18mo to 10yr running around underfoot.Highly reccomend them just for a meal or for your catered party.
Delicious HOT fresh food. Our table had appetizer special of lobster arancini which was prepared wonderfully. Chicken parmesan chicken has great flour fried coating cooked perfectly ( chicken VERY fresh tasting) topped with good mozzarella, ala dente cooked pasta and a homemade tomato sauce. Chicken piccata didnt disappoint as well. Lakeside greens had mild heat and kind of firm texture which will heat up excellently tomorrow. Salads were fresh and Emily was a great server, very helpful. First time customer, We will be back.
A lovely lunch on the deck at Borios the other day...being able to sit outside on a sunny day in March is priceless. The food was really good. Seen below are a virgin Pina colada, fried mozzarella wedges, a chicken cordon bleu sandwich and a French dip sandwich and sides of fries and a macaroni salad. Big portions, the leftovers were enough for dinner 🙂~$46 for 2 (including a tip)All covid protocols were strictly followed by us and the staff.
2022 and you removed vegan friendly options? While every other place is shifting to accommodate vegan options, Stone removed the only vegan option that Borio’s had. A new burger selection, but no option for an impossible or beyond patty? As a previously routine customer, there’s now nothing for my wife to eat.
Went for dinner Fri night. Waitress was a welcome familiar face from when owned by Borios. The restaurant was pretty empty, the atmosphere and resurante itself is very cold. We were seated in the bar area all TVs had news that repeated over and over Covid info and how bad the weather is and old fashioned Country Music was playing. We went to dinner to get away from all this and to just relax and enjoy a descent meal. The menu was Ok but VERY pricey. My husband ordered filet mignon w/ rice and salad $39.00, I ordered chicken fingers and potatoes skins cause wouldnt pay the prices. Got our meal my husbands filet was about 2 high was cooked OK and tasted good, got plan white rice w/o any seasonings nothing and salad had few greens. Mine came got square frozen chicken fingers and potato skin God knows if were frozen or just old. Mushy gray and greasy. Our bill $65.00 w/o drinks or dessert. Wouldnt have minded paying this amount if it was a descent meal and worth that price. Needless to say we are crossing this place off our list. Also note my last review was for Borios restaurant NOT The Stone!
This past Saturday my daughter and new son in law had there wedding at BoriosIt was outstanding. The service was great. Marty and his waitresses were constantly checking to make sure everything was as planned. Food was very good. Our family from out of town said it was a great wedding and the venue was outstandingThank you Marty, your sister, and you wonderful staff to help make our daughter’s wedding the bestYour family and there service will be missed.Good luck in the future. Enjoy your newly found free time.
The calamari was the best Ive ever had. Cooked to perfection! The scallops were excellent. Lightly breaded, tender, & tasty as can be, with a nice sized portion. The service was very good & the waitress was friendly & attentive. On the other hand, the salad was brown around the edges & the pasta was obviously cooked before we ordered. My rigatoni & my cousins spaghetti had hard spots that pasta gets when its left on the counter too long.Over all the important parts of the meal were very good, but little details like wilted lettuce & pasta not cooked per order, turned what would have been the perfect meal into something less than stellar. I would recommend Borios, but stay away from the salad & pasta!
Mediocre at best, first thing that hit me, is when I walked in was the smell of mold and mildew. I was debating if I should stay or leave, I was given the choice to sit in the dining room or outside. I chose outside......I should have left. There was 4 in our party we all ordered something different, there wasnt one acceptable meal served. I had the open steak sandwich. It was disgusting. I ordered it medium rare it was raw the onion rings extremely greasy, Italian toast not toasted! My husband had the fried haddock, it was soggy overcooked piece of fish. Our friends meals werent any better.I understand there is a new owner, that will be taking over in October. Im hoping they turn Borios around if not they can lock the door and throw away the key.....I do want to give one positive review our waitress Grace was an absolute joy....any restaurant that she would work in would be gaining a real asset.
I was happy for the Borio family and also happy the restaurant was going to continue serving Cicero. Unfortunately, that hometown welcoming atmosphere has disappeared. The menu has drastically chaged. The prices have increased. It is only open 4 days a week and closes earlier. The manager has gone out of his way to make sure patrons know that Stones closes earlier. Not in a friendly way letting people know that the hours have changed, but by yelling at the bartender that he closes at 9pm and she needs to make sure the local customers leave. So disappointed. I guess well be looking for a new local establishment.
Ive eaten at Borio:s many times, but only for lunch. Ive never had an unpleasurable experience here. Tonight I went for dinner, specifically their prime rib Saturday special. It was excellent. The rib was excellently prepared, cooked to a perfect medium rare as I ordered. Dinners come with a salad bar consisting of a wide array of choices. As to the meat quality, it was tender and flavorful. The creme brulee that we ordered for dessert was very good.If youre familiar with the seafood restaurants along the North and South shore of Long Island, NY, youre familiar with the look and feel of Borios. Clean, nicely decorated in an unpretentious way. The service is always prompt and friendly. The restaurant has a large parking lot.Almost all of the tables.afford a great view of the lake waterfront. Ive posted a picture of a sunset on 10/11/19. Even though it was a misty, foggy evening, the restaurants management obviously has serious connections.
Beautiful lake views on a sunny day! We Ordered the Pike which was good and our waitress was very pleasant. Only thing constructively was it was a hour wait for seating for a mid week lunch. Not sure if staffing was an issue as it seems like in most places it is lately. Also I’m seeing more and more places have cash prices and credit card prices... whether it’s food cost or credit card fees, if paying by credit it’s costing you more.
So started off with a 15 minute wait for a table, which is pretty average. There were tables open outside as well as inside but they took quite awhile to be cleared, and didn’t seem to be sanitized between parties. Once we were finally seated it took 25 minutes until we were greeted by our server to gets drinks. It appears to be poorly managed and disorganized. Servers were very very friendly and attentive once they realized you were there. As for food everything tastes the same as the original Borios, wait times for food were also on the longer.. probably due to the poor management. Kinda strange not seeing the new owner, but the previous owner on the opening night. All in all, 7/10 probably wouldn’t recommend.
The views and seafood were fantastic, the beef dishes were very disappointing...more like banquet beef. The kids menu was excellent and margaritas were too. The wine selection was somewhat limited but still had a few great options. Appetizers were all so good. Just dont order steak or prime rib!
First time guest, but definitely impressed with the food , service and spectacular views. One problem, was been told if we used a credit card, we would be charged the 3.25% credit card charges. Our bill was over $113 ! If they are going to continue this ridiculous charge, customers will stop coming! You wont be in business long! Many people nowadays do not carry much cash! You may want to rethink this policy, the Borios never did this. A ticket under $50 maybe, but this is the cost of doing business!
A very well established, consistantly busy restaurant with a slightly tired interior decor and a beautifully spacious rolling gentle hill down to a generous view of Oneida lake. Its kitchen consistently provides delicious dishes from a moderate choiced menu.Ive also never met a bad waitress and the taff is friendly.Always a pleasant experience.
I visited Borios last Friday evening after hearing through the grapevine they had reopened the patio seating! It was a beautiful evening, and the outdoor bar was serving drinks for those waiting for their tables down by the water. The wait was as expected for such a wonderful view, but once seated, it was worth the wait! Felicia, our server, was incredible! Even while wearing her face covering, you could tell she was happy to be back at work and was enjoying serving all her patrons! Our food and drinks were hot and brought immediately out from the kitchen, the food was incredible! She even helped my date choose between a few options on the menu, which turned out to be one of her favorites on the menu as well! Overall, the food was perfect, service by Felicia was amazing, and I will absolutely be returning to Borios next chance I get!
It was a busy evening and a lovely warm sunny day. Either the staff did not showing up for work or they do not hire enough. We waited 45 min. to get a drink on the lawn and when our table was ready the services was fine but the food was very disappointing,. The medium rare burger was well done, the pasta shrimp dish has no seasoning, the salads were dreadful. Such a nice location especially for the summer months but if you are a foodie then no so nice!
To be honest my order was incorrect and i had to go inside to find the server who had to come out and 20 question me if I was telling the truth about my lunch. She was not very interactive. Then we saw other people being served before us when we had arrived before them. Then the sandwich was incorrect. Yes the server took my meal off but i had to ask since she clearly didnt have the common sense to apologize or offer anything. I felt extremely uncomfortable and would probably not go again. So here is your comment Borios. They say support local but you are one restaurant that does not deserve that. I still spent $75 dollars and tipped the server even though she didnt deserve a dime of my money. But here we are. Thanks Borios for showing such a family run restaurant but doesnt respect the patrons! Have a great day!
I’ve been coming to Borio’s since I was young, for weddings, for dinner, lunch and now that I’m much older.. for drinks! I love going during lunch time, the service is always top notch and the food is always amazing. If you haven’t been there you should definitely take your family! FIVE STARS
Love this restaurant which sits on the south shore of Oneida Lake. Excellent food, friendly staff, and a beautiful deck all in keeping with a local vibe. Fresh fish and Italian dishes are their specialty. Want to catch an amazing sunset while enjoying a beverage? Borios is the place...
Horrible, we have been waiting months to go out to eat and wanted to find someplace with outdoors dining. They do not take reservations so we showed up at 6 and waited 2 hrs to be seated. We saw many open tables but they did not seat us. Then finally we were seated and waited another 30 minutes to have someone take our order. The place was clearing out by then and it still took over an hour to get our meals. Just burgers, i ordered mine rare and it was burnt and cold. The poor waitress was sorry and said she would send manager out, 30 minutes later the waitress came back and said manager was too busy and they could put another order in for me after everyone else was done eating. 930 pm we paid the bill and left. I tried to give them the benefit due to covid 19 but there is not excuse for this bad of service and food. we will not go back.
My fiance and I sat out on the deck having our lunch on the water. The view was amazing!! Nice breeze on a warm summer day. And the food was remarkable! The salad bar was huge with a variety of toppings and sides. I ordered the deep fried haddock with onion rings which was fried to perfection. We will definitely be going back!
The only thing that gives this restaurant two stars instead of one is the location. Yes, it has a beautiful waterfront setting. But the food needs a serious overhaul. The Utica greens appetizer will cost you nine dollars and come to find out, it is frozen and not even made fresh. Tasted like it came from a hospital cafeteria. Everyone I sat with said their food tasted like it was cooked from frozen. Also, the outdoor seating area was absolutely swarming with wasps. I understand there’s not a whole lot to be done about that, but I think there are some things that can be done! All in all I will not return to this restaurant
Food was great!! I had the Prime tin. Im glad I got the large cut (16oz Captains cut). it will be a great snack later tonight. The only thing I really had a small problem with waitress started with guys to take the order and ended with the Ladies. It was my moms birthday. Im probably the only one that noticed this Break from properly taking an order probably because I waited and Barttended for over 20 yrs. Highly recommend this restaurant! 😍 😍
Fathers Day as always was very busy on this beautiful sunny day. We are a party of 12 .... 6 children 7 and under and 6 adults. Always hard to get seated. The hostesses tried their very best and were very lucky to be seated out on the patio. The brunch was excellent and we ordered off the menu also. Our waitress was pleasant, very patient and attentive. A shout out to our waitress, Natalie for an outstanding job on this very busy day!! We all enjoyed our pleasant experience.
Great View - Mediocre Food - When is a discount not a discount? When it’s an up charge. The signs and the typewritten piece of paper stuck in the menu tell you that you are getting a “Discount” of 3.75% for paying cash. The menu prices are the discounted prices. The real prices, by their definition are not shown. Really? To give two examples, a discounted Corona is $5.00 and a discounted entree is $21.99. Doing the math, because it’s not on the menu, the full price of the Corona is $5.20 and the entree is $22.85. I’ve never seen odd amounts like those on any menu. The costs of credit cards has been baked into prices for decades. The law has been recently changed to allow these charges to be broken out separately. The business may offer a discount off the regular price for paying cash. However in this case it appears they have been added on to the old prices. It’s fine to nickel and dime your customers by adding an up charge, but please don’t try to fool us into thing it’s “Discount.”
Fantastic place on the lake. The service was awesome and the food was great. It was my first time there and it wont be my last. If youve ever had seafood in Maryland, I highly recommend their Md. style crab cakes and the Canadian Salmon seasoned with Old Bay. Portions guaranteed to satisfy your appetite.
We had a great Valentines Day dinner with kids and an additional family. Secured last minute reservations for a party of 8 for 6pm. The staff was very friendly but you could tell that they were busy! The French Onion soup was very good. The cheese and bread were broiled to perfection. The frogs legs were on point! Wow! I couldnt get enough frog legs! The prime rib was cooked a little lighter than I liked, BUT I still enjoyed every bite. I tired the chicken riggies as well. Great heat and great flavors! Very nice meal. I would definitely return.
It depends on the waitress you get. Sometimes you’ll get a very attentive and professional server. Other times, well, not so much. If you’re making the drive all the way out there and then receive less than perfect service it makes you hesitant to drive out again. Overall the food is consistent, I ordered the 10 OZ lobster tail and it was prepared perfectly.
Met our cousins for dinner. Even though there were cars out to the road, we were seated right away. I had the perch special - amazing! We were able to stay at the table for 3 hours talking and were never pressured to leave. Great food, great views, great atmosphere! Well be back!!
We took our son and his girlfriend to Borio’s this past Friday evening (8/14/20). We chose Borio’s because of our past experiences there. They have all been good to very good! This time however was a completely different experience! Upon arrival, we were told that it would be a one hour wait to be seated. We accepted that, and wet out onto the lawn to enjoy an appetizer and a pre-dinner cocktail, While enjoying the beautiful view! As promised, our table was ready in just a little over an hour. Here is where things started to go bad. We were seated at our table at 6:35 PM. We ordered soup at the same time that we ordered our dinners. The soup and our salads arrived at the same time, approximately 30 minutes after we placed the order. As they were relatively busy, we accepted this as something that happens when the kitchen is busy. The next time we saw a waitress was at 7:25PM, when she came to our table to clear our plates. She apologized to us about the delay on our dinners as the kitchen is backed up. We waited another 35minutes, and it was now 8:00PM and still no dinner. I got the attention of our server and asked her what the problem was. She said, and I quote her “the pasta cook is really backed up, and since all four of you ordered a dish that had pasta, that is what the problem is”. I responded to her by saying that I did not believe that was the case, because two tables directly next to us both were seated well after us, and had received pasta dishes well before us! At 8:10PM, a little over an hour and a half after we were seated, our dinners arrived. I had the chicken Parm, which was very good as it always is. My son had the chicken Riggies which had great flavor but very little chicken. My wife and my son’s girlfriend each had the shrimp and scallops linguine dish. It was described to be in a garlic sauce with spinach. When it was placed in front of them the pasta looked as if it had nothing on it. However after further investigation they were able to find a small amount of a butter garlic sauce at the bottom of the plate. Although it was present, it was not nearly enough to flavor the pasta. On a positive note the seafood was cooked to perfection, and was large in size. In closing, we were totally embarrassed about both the time of service and the food that we were served. This is typically a go to place for us in the summer, but I’m guessing we will never go back!
Visited today for lunch. Service was great. Location great outside dining on the water was beautiful. My husband had early bird special haddock. He liked his dinner. I had the steak it was not great, lacked flavor it was difficult to cut. Not worth the price. Salad bar was good.
Solid restaurant, during the winter time we would ride our snowmobiles here from brewerton via the lake, summertime we always used to take the boat here. Grew up eating here, excellent seafood, love the fries they make as well as all the sides. Haddock always fresh, perch and other fish also excellent. Service is also excellent, prices are reasonable, accommodations are always made and the atmosphere is pleasant. One of my favorite restaurants around. Very kind owners and excellent staff I would have a hard time giving them anything other than 5/5
We went to Borios for their bullheads. We went last year and they were delicious. This year something seemed off. We had to wait a half hour from the time we had our salad until we got our bullheads and it was the middle of the afternoon and not many people were there. My husband and I both dug into the middle of them and they were still raw. We paid for our salads and left. We came back a couple of days later to try again - no bullheads that day so we ordered burgers and fries. I said they cant mess these up right - we both ordered medium and mine came out perfect and my husbands was burnt. We ate them anyways and asked the waitress if something had changed, perhaps a new chef or whatever. She started to explain that someone was training when the owner came over and wanted to know what was going on. Explained our two experiences to him and he said there had been no changes. We paid for our dinner. We have been there many times before and have never experienced this. I guess we will be looking for other places to eat.
Went here last month with my friend Jim & his Dad. They used to get perch up north & mo one, no one, does a better job frying perch than Jim. At Borios I got the perch dinner & was quite impressed. Delicious & fresh. Hope to get back there sooner than later. Salad bar good too.
$6 Cosmos at the Outside Bar.... Um yes Please!!!! This place is awesome and so are the ladies at the outside bar! One tip tho is they really should saran wrap food containers. Our take home spilled everywhere as the food containers are not sturdy other than that awesome
Beautiful lakeside restaurant with gorgeous views, a nice large yard in the back leading to the water with a gazebo. We were here for a wedding rehearsal dinner and it was awesome. Definitely a hidden gem in the Syracuse area. If you get the chance, it is worth stopping in. Oh yeah the food and service was great also!
Went for date night and hoping for drinks and dinner with a view and thats exactly what we got. Outside bar allowed us to have a few drinks before and after dinner. We were seated right at the edge of the outdoor eating area and enjoyed a great view. The food, baked and fried haddock, was amazing. Utica Greens were not real Utica Greens, but they were good. Will definitely do another date night here.
I married my best friend on June 23, 2018 and together we chose Borio’s Restaurant for our wedding reception. We could not have been happier with that choice! Borio’s did a fantastic job!!! They set up the reception room exactly as I had envisioned and instructed, the food was phenomenal, and the staff are so well trained that I barely even knew they were there! With a head count over 100, the Borio’s team executed our reception flawlessly! The views of the lake are incredible, but merely an added bonus to their exceptional service. At the end of a beautiful wedding day and reception, one of our guests got sick on the shuttle that the entire wedding party was depending on to get us back to our hotel. After personally calling the hotel myself and pleading with the front desk staff they still refused to send the shuttle back to Borio’s for us! Seeing my frustration and upset, Marty (the owner) asked for my phone and called the hotel himself. He miraculously got the hotel to send the shuttle back for us! I am forever grateful for not only an amazing wedding reception, but also for Marty going above and beyond in making sure we all got back to our hotel safely.
We had our daughters graduation party here. Staff was great they did a wonderful job and very professional and so easy to work with.. pricing very reasonable. Food was delicious. Would highly recommend Borios for any kind of party or gathering. We were completely satisfied
Went here for Mothers Day brunch. Food was ok, not great. Most of it was fried or drenched in butter or gravy. Very few healthy options. Linens were stained. Staff was not super attentive, but it was a busy event. Outside area was very nice. Cute gazebo and nice view of the water.
Grew up down the street and haven’t ever had a bad experience. I’ve also had wings many places across the country and I have to say that Borio’s is at the top of my list. Obviously this is opinion but other than that the staff is awesome, and the owners are great people! Highly recommended and always bring business associates to the restaurant from out of town. Never a complaint from them either.
I havent been to Borios in years! This visit was VERY pleasurable! I forgot just how beautiful the views are and how much fun a dinner on their patio can be. The food was excellent and the entertainment was fantastic (Just Joe!!)!! I will definitely come back more often! Thank you Borio family for such a great experience!!
Can not say enough good things about Borios. I hosted a shower for a friend here, and it was absolutely beautiful. The venue it nice and open (we were in the Shore Room), and it had large windows looking out to the water. They allowed us to bring in decor, and they had linens. I think its important to note that they had colored overlays available in various colors, which was really nice and added a lot to the room. The staff was fabulous, and worked really hard without seeming stressed which was calming, especially because they had a wedding following the shower (which we found out later from a friend). I think thats important to note because they did not rush us out at the end of the shower, and we had ample time to clean and chat. They were so smooth and helpful. We did a brunch buffet and everyone raved about the food. It was so good! I highly recommend the hashbrowns! We also has mimosas and brought a water dispenser which they added fruit to, which was so nice. All together, the prices were extremely reasonable. At the end of the shower, the owner came up to settle the bill and he was so polite and professional, and I got the chance to thank him for his professionalism and attentiveness - between me being a perfectionist and RSVPs changing the headcount multiple times, Marty answered every phone call and was more than happy to accomodate. In addition, his staff were just as friendly and professional and it took so much stress off of the day. Everything was clean and well put together, and I am so happy we chose Borios for the shower!
Excellent dinner. Attentive, friendly servers. Beautiful views of Oneida lake. Their salad bar (it looks like a boat, so they call it their salad boat) was abundant, fresh and well-maintained. My favorite was their pickled beets, which didnt taste at all like they came out of a can. I had perhaps the best piece of fried haddock Ive had in ages. The coating was light and really crisp, and the fish inside was fresh and cooked perfectly. Delicious. My wife had their haddock francaise, which was also delicious -- with a thin eggy coating, and a light, lemony sauce that was in no way gloppy. We came late in the day, so we sat inside, but they have extensive outdoor seating, both covered and open, with spectacular views of the lake. Well definitely be back.
My wife and I had a fantastic dinner Saturday night! I had the best butter crumb haddock I have ever had and she raved about the Ahi tuna! The salad bar is always well stocked and very good. The outdoor patio boasts a cool tiki bar for cocktails, and the outdoor patio has a phenomenal view of Oneida lake for dining! It was very busy on a Saturday night and the service was excellent, I highly recommend Borios, you will be happy that you went there!
Very nice of them to accommodate us and let us sit in a booth when they weren’t seating ppl in booths that day. I have a serious health issue and with my o2 tanks much easier to utilize a booth and avoiding hard chairs with my circulatory problems a booth was great. So we were very happy. The service was fine, however I didn’t find the food as good as it was in the past. We traveled a distance to come there Nd I got a chicken dish. The baked potato was tiny. My husbands steak dinner was ok. But for 57 bill for 2 ppl I just thought the food quality wasn’t there. Disappointing. However the scenery there is beautiful. I do have to add to be fair. The cost included a zucchini appetizer which was good ...
Yesterday We celebrated my wifes baby shower. We cant say enough about the hospitality that we were given by Marty and his team of employees to make sure everything was top notch. The Food, the service everything was once again fantastic. Thanks again for everything this is the reason we keep coming back. The Fortinos
We put in an order for take out. When we arrived, the place was busy. We told the hostess we had a takeout order. Without saying anything else, she handed us the receipt and said, Chuck will ring you up. Chuck was on the phone. When he was through, we said we had a takeout order, and without saying a word, he rung us up and gave us our food. The food wasnt great, and neither was the service. Weve been here before without this sort of experience but this isnt okay. Perhaps well be back again when its not so busy.
Our Marine Trades Association met at Borio’s last night. The Borio family managed to feed 125 people with a fantastic banquet. We arrived with all the tables set up and the bar was set up in the room with servers caring for all of our needs. Highly recommend Borio’s for any size dinner, they can handle it with ease. The food and service was exceptional!!! Thank you Borio family!!!
We had our wedding there in May and they did an amazing job. The food was superb, the wait staff was great and the room and veiw were beautiful. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a venue for a special occasion. Marty went above and beyond to make a our day truly special.
Was very disappointed in the menu change. Purposely went here for surf and turf like theyve always had and was told they didnt do that any more. To have a steak with lobster tail would have been an outrageous price. Had a drink and went else where for dinner. Saddens me to see the restaurants on the lake either out of business or such horrible changes. I guess I wont be back any more
Absolutely disappointing. I flew up to Syracuse to meet with clients and had a huge build up by my local team for going to Borios. Overcrowded and under staff. 30 minute wait turned to 1.5 hour, kitchen lost are ticket, caught hostess and server in lies. We asked for our check, no apology but a rude comment by the server “well what do you want me to do?” The manager comped our salad bar and we left. Nice view but not worth the head ache.
Borios is really nice experience. Waitress staff is friendly.food is really good..its the scenery of the lake and the islands out on the deck. Just catching the sunset. My recommendation if you wanna sit outside and eat and enjoy the Lakeview. Get there around 830 pm not as busy. Enjoy)
Absolutely beautiful views , Great Staff and love the owners its nice to eat somewhere and always see the owners of the restaurant greeting people and remembering you from the last time you came. Borios has the most beautiful landscaping with most beautiful view and beautiful outside seating and Bar. This is the place to go when you want to sit outside
First time there for Friday lunch. Hostess had an attitude when asked if perch was still available at 1 pm. Wasnt told of the wait time and overheard another couple say 45 to 1 hour. I asked the hostess and she said 15 to 30 minutes--more or less. Another couple came in and the hostess told them she would have a table ready for them right away. We left. Today is my husbands birthday and we wanted to celebrate.
One of the worst dining experiences ever!!!!!I have visited Borios several times over the past 10 years and have equally shared my praise and recommendations to others to dine here....that ends tonight.- Restaurant was overcrowded and understaffed-One bartender on duty outside and had witnessed personnally several people getting frustrated and angry over the lack of service...I actually felt bad for this poor women who had to put up with numberous customer complaints with no support from management to help her.- I sent my business guess in first to get us a table two on the outdoor patio while I parked the carThis business partner happens to be the global marketing manager for our Food & Beverage solution offerings....I have never been so personnally embarrassed to bring anyone into any business establish the way I was embarrassed tonight in front of my guest.- I actually held the door for another couple (2 people) who not only got seated 15 minutes before us, but was given a prime table on the patio while we got stuck next to the back door.- We were told it would be a 30-40 min wait...understandable...it turned unto over an hour...unexceptable.After for forty minutes I checked on our table with the hostess...I was told soon...what the heck does that mean?!!!!!!- I checked back in another 15 minutes....I was greeted very curtly by the hostess with what number do you have. I showed her and she finally blurted out your next...we then proceeded to wait another 5-10 minutes.- Once the waitress game she took our drink order...a simple glass of wine and a Coors Light. The drinks finally arrived after about another 5-10 minutes after I had explained to her our dilemma over waiting...which was only met with a shallow apology...we placed our order of Cappelini & Broiled Haddock and was offered to help ourselves to the salad bar.- The salad bar needed to be replenished and once again waiting for this to happen as at least two other people were asking if more salad was going to be brought out.-Then a family of 5 was seated next to us...their orders were dressed....and while we continued to wait for our meal to be served which was placed ahead of the table of 5 (keep in mind that were only 2) only to see the table of 5 to get their food ahead of us.- We brought this to the attention of the waitress and she said that they only got sandwiches...whereas in reality they had order burgers and fries along with two adult meals that of at least one was haddock.- On top of it all the waitress after delivering the food to the table of five avoided any eye contact with us and went to go clean another table.- When she did come back I requested that our meals get cancelled and requested our check.- At this point she said there was other Food up in the window, asked if we wanted the manager, but said that she would do what we wanted....needless to say we cancelled our meal...she came back out and said that we were all set.I didnt even finish my wine and we left.In closing the words dissapointing, sub-standard, awkward, unprofessional and disgraceful come to mind.Good-By!!!!!!!!
Overpriced, lousy food with mediocre service. Now with all of the anti equality nonsense they are spewing, it went from I might give them another chance to correct their mistakes, to like hell I am going back! Good luck with making bank on Sundays. I expect two things to happen. 1. Learn what they did was dumb and try to save face or 2. Close.
My wife and I hosted an Anniversary party for 50 people at Borio’s on Saturday May 17. The function started at 6:30. There was a function in our room, The Sunset Room, prior to ours. We had some concern for turning the room over in time, however not to worry the room was ready at 6:30. There also was a function upstairs for 200. That concerned me as far as the kitchen being able to handle both functions. They pulled it off without a problem! The Sunset Room is on the lower level of Borio’s and has a beautiful patio that overlooks Oneida Lake. The room could seat approximately 200 so we had plenty of space. The tables were set with white linens with navy blue napkins. The tables were set with the appropriate flatware in place for the meal. The bar staff did a great job in serving our guests. There were two bartenders on and I did feel that only one was needed however the Borio’s are focused on customer service and they exceeded my expectations. One of the bartenders worked the floor during dinner to make sure our guests had wine or other beverages during service. When we arrived we had a cheese, vegetable, and fruit assortment. There was plenty and the fresh fruit was served with cream. Very nice! We started with a passed salad platter that was fresh with mixed greens including mesclun mix and fresh garnishes. Salad dressings were served family style with a choice of Ranch or Italian. Dinner was a plated choice of Prime Rib, Cape Cod Haddock, or Chicken Parmesan. A baked potato and a sauté of fresh vegetables accompanied the plate. The servers did a great job serving our guests given the three choices. I asked for an end cut for a guest at our table and that was handled efficiently. Everything on the plate was hot, many times attending banquets you get lukewarm vegetables, a cold potato, or the entrée’s over cooked. Not the case at Borio’s, my Haddock was served perfectly cooked, the potato and the vegetables were still hot from the pan! A couple guests did think the vegetables were a little short of al dente and I would agree although I would rather have them a touch under cooked than over cooked. The Prime Rib was cooked properly, medium rare to medium, the Chicken Parmesan was enjoyed, and the Cape Cod Haddock was very good. We did check with our guests and everyone enjoyed their meal. Service was attentive with the servers checking during dinner to make sure our entrees were cooked properly. This is a small step often missed in banquet service. The room was cleared quickly when we were finished. We brought in our own cake which was sliced and served by the staff. Coffee service was efficient for those who wanted. The only criticism I would have would be the flatware used is one step above disposable. Although it is metal, it is very inexpensive and does not fit the other standards at Borio’s. I worked with Marty to book the party and with Chuck the night of the function. All in all a great setting for a function thanks to the fine service and great food!
Our rehearsal dinner was perfect the food was good the bar service also good the owner Marty on the other hand was great we came from out of town and you know you always forget somethingOur forget was desert the young lady working our party told Marty and out came desert he definitely can adapte on the fly which is a credit to him but we should not have expected anything less great job and THANK YOU FOR everything you and your great staff did for us

2021-08-04Beautiful lakefront restaurant with fast friendly service. Seating can be indoor or outdoor and when we went, they even had live entertainment. I had Canadian salmon which wasnt too bad (a little on the bland side for my taste) and my husband had the ahi tuna which was really good. We both had the salt potatoes which are a localized specialty and tasted amazing! The salads were good as well and had a variety of fresh vegetables included.

2021-05-15Best view around, really cant beat it. We had Melissa as our server, she was very good. Id definitely recommend asking for her.We got the strawberry daiquiri and frozen strawberry margarita (per Melissas recommendation). Very tasty and flavorful. Would order again and again. We got linguine with scallops and shrimp - which was good, not great. Would get again, but would also like to explore the menu a little more.We also got spinach and strawberry salad with chicken. Salad was good, would get again. Chicken could use a little more flavor.

2021-10-19Former Borio’s, but new management and name. Great location on the water, I imagine it’s beautiful in the summer. It was cold and rainy out but we sat out back with a drink while we waited for our table inside. Scallops were delicious, everyone had fish and was happy with their selections. Good value, nice atmosphere. Waited 45 minutes on a saturday at 6:30 which wasn’t too bad. It died out after we sat down, if you came at 7:30 you wouldn’t have had a wait, seems like an early crowd. Definitely recommend it and had an enjoyable night.

2022-02-28We went to Stones in the depths of winter. The menu was pared down and did not have many of the items listed in the online menu. A bit disappointing, but the staff was great. Friendly, knew the current menu and helpful.Wed come to the restaurant with a few specific dishes in mind. Unfortunately none of them were on the abbreviated (and unpublished) winter menu. The replacements, haddock and an uninspiring linguine, were OK but a bit of a let down.Probably better to visit in the summer when you can sit outside and enjoy a fuller menu.

2022-02-22Disappointed with our latest experience. Received no dinner rolls with our meals (all entrees come with rolls, according to the menu). Was also told that the apple crisp was no longer on the menu, when (as of writing this review), it is still on the website menu. Also a little disappointed that when I tried to get fries instead of a side salad, I was told ”no substitutions”, which is fair but maybe just offer it for an upcharge? Needless to say, this isn’t Borios any moreAll that aside, the food was still pretty good. But they have definitely trimmed down the menu.

2022-05-13I’m sorry but borios was way better. Our reservation was at 630, we didn’t get our food until 7:50 there was only 3 of us. Our waiter granted was only second week working we waited so long just for our bread and waters. We lifterally got our food to go because we waited so long on our meals that we filled up on the appetizers. Not happy AT ALL. We will not be returning.
