Over the past two years, we have rented three different units from Storage Sense in Ballston Spa. Our belongings have been safe, access to the facility has been easy, the units have been clean and pest free, and the fees have been competitive. We have been very pleased with the service and will likely be a customer again in the future.
Needed a storage until to aid in the moving from one apartment to another in different towns game and was able to book this place completely online within a few minutes. Got my locker number and gate code and haven’t had any need to contact anyone, but it is the perfect location and price for what we need.
Storage Sense went above and beyond. I was scheduled to move out, however a work incident caused a delay in my move. Storage Sense worked with me and provided excellent customer service to ensure my property and I were well taken care of. I was with them for 3 years, but had to relocate, and couldnt imagine a different storage company.
Cannot say enough good things about how helpful Katie at Storage Sense was! She helped me out of a really tough spot really quickly when I got screwed over by Prime Storage in Malta at the last minute. The rates at Storage Sense were better, and Katie was much more helpful and customer service focused. Unit is clean and easy to access. I really highly recommend!
Having never rented a storage unit before, I was slightly apprehensive, but after I met Phyllis and Taylor, I was immediately put at ease. The facility was well kept and thoroughly secure, but their professionalism and customer service are what really sold me. I cannot recommend them highly enough, and I regularly encourage others to use this Extra Space Storage location.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. Whenever I’ve had a question they’ve always been able to provide an answer on the first phone call.My storage unit (10x30) was clean and reasonably priced. I saw no evidence of pest (insect or rodent) on moving in or moving out (3 months later).I would definitely consider this facility next time I have a need for storage.
Exceptional value for cost. I had a storage unit here for a few months while preparing to move across the country. The unit was clean, dry, and odor-free. Access was always easy but also secure. Phyllis is professional, very competent, and so friendly and helpful. Shes always ready to work with you to fulfill your storage needs and to follow up with you whenever needed; she monitors payments and notifies you if your automatic credit card payment has been delayed (e.g. if you get a new card and havent updated your payment method), and makes sure that theres no interruption in service for you. I always felt confident that my belongings were in good hands. She makes the rounds to ensure that everything is shipshape and secure, and any activity on the grounds is monitored.
Nobody at the facility. They are supposed to be open from 9:30 to 6:00. I got there at 10:10 and theres a sign on the door that says they will be back at 10:00. I waited until 11:20 and still nobody. Gate was wide open. Doesnt seem very secure to me with the gate wide open for that whole time.
The grounds, buildings, access are extremely well maintained. The security of the premises is excellent and the management is beyond compare. This is the second time I have used this facility and I would not hesitate to use this storage facility again.The manager (Terri) is very open to questions and concerns and takes care of the customers as a topmost priority.
I had recently stopped in and i had received some INCREDIBLE customer service from Tammy. She knew everything i needed and was very friendly and helpful. I could not have asked for a better sales associate! The promotion was great, however the prices were a bit high. However due to Tammys exceptional customer service i will be back and definitely recommending to all my friends! Thanks Tammy!!!
Phyllis and Taylor were able to help us short notice on a late Saturday afternoon with storage for our trailer. After a long day they were able to go above and beyond to accommodate our needs that other companies we have used in the past were unable to do... highly recommend them for your storage needs!
Phyllis and Tammy are amazing and the facility is super secure. The price is a little higher than competition but its worth it to make sure my belongings are in a secure facility. This location has every aspect of a mom and pop owned store and the employees are very receptive to the needs of the customer. I will not rent storage anyplace else!
This is a secure storage facility in a safe area. It is close to the interstate. The gate always worked, every time I went there (I’ve rented storage units in the past where the gate would break sometimes - a huge inconvenience), and it was secure. There is after hours contact in case of emergency too.
Tammy is awesome. Its very refreshing to receive experienced, hassle-free and diligent customer service these days. Everything Ive needed has been done professionally, promptly and correctly. I would recommend this location to anybody looking for a well managed storage facility in the Ballston Spa area. Phyllis and Tammy are the best.
I wanted a climate-controlled larger unit, close by, with security and found it at Extra Space Storage. Teri was amazing and made me feel right at home, very professional, excellent Customer service, and priced well to have peace of mind. 😊 I like the fact that I can do month to month or long term without extra fees. I am a two time customer. I want you to know that I am extremely pleased with the service I received from Phyllis and Tammy. They both run the business as if it was their own as it is always clean and in order and by the way Phyllis remembered my name from 6 years ago. I would recommend this storage to anyone.
In the midst of a stressful move, I had to pack up my home and find a temporary storage facility. The ladies at Exta Space have been so kind and helpful. From listening to me vent about a delayed closing to talking me through which boxes I need to pack my things, they’ve assisted me with cheerful professionalism and a “how can we help” attitude. Can’t say enough good things about the customer service and the fees are reasonable too!
Great customer service and staff!!! They were very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about the different storage units and walked me to the unit to assure it was the right size, which I appreciated.....I was a bit sceptical that everything wouldn’t fit but all of my furniture fit into the space and I even had a little bit of extra room.....Thank you Extra Space!!!
Came in on a Friday and had a very memorable experience. I believe I learned more about the woman who serviced me than I already knew about storage facilities. A great start to my weekend, and a reminder that in this crazy rushed world, some still take the time to to ask how you doing?, and actually listen, care and respond.
Lied to by on site manager.Holding property hostage scamming extra money.False report filed in notes.Emails sent to me under a bogus email address from them.I am a homeless vet.. I literally have what is in storage.. (which fill 2 Rubbermaid tubs)Pictures of my child and my clothes..Not one item of valueFacility refuses to let me pay to get my stuff.Drags out the return call process to ensure I am beyond able to pay ..If not able to resolve and facility acepys they are at error ... This matter will be brought to the courts and the media and veterans office..Refused to accept half month payment when I was only 2days into the month.Said I can not have my stuff.. must have full months pay.. wont accept half month..
Terrible company... They get you in and then jack your rates!I have been a customer with at this provider facility now for about 3 years. Over that time my account for unit # 247 at the Ballston Spa, NY location has increased byroughly from $139 per month to $157 per month. The new owners included excessive late fees of up to $10 for the first 5 days past due, an additional $15 for ~15 dayspast due, and the a large additional fee of ~$125 for 30 days past due. I have never been over 30 days late but have received warnings of these charges when andwas able to pay to current. Regardless these are excessive and unnecessary and take advantage of the nature of this business in which many times people are notliving nearby the units and cannot easily relocate. Thus we are subject to price hikes, excessive fees, and overall poor customer service and with low qualityinfrastructure. The facility was owned by another company called Extra Space Storage unit until June 2011, at which time Smart Stop Self Storage took ownership. Asa result of this change of ownership the price increases ignored until the sale, then never addressed by the new owners despite my efforts to make them well aware ofthe problems. Recently new units of the same size were being offered for $114/mo. to new tenants, almost 30% lower than my rate. When I asked to change my ratethey begrudgingly agreed if I was willing to move to another unit of equal size. Both areas were not heated/cooled. It was apparent they were aware that I wasnt livingnearby and couldnt easily move units. In addition to the excessive charges and difficult sales strategies the customer service was also very rude on many fronts fromthe toll-free service, to the desk attendants at the facility, and even to the customer care representative that reached out to me based on a letter I submitted. Needlessto say none of these efforts had any bearing. Overall I was very dissatisfied with the customer service. The facility claims it offers benefits to safe long term storage butthen takes advantage of its long term tenants with-out offering any benefits at all. Winter snow removal has been terrible to say the least. I learned quickly to bring myown shovel, and ice pick as the gutter system is either non-existent or completely inadequate. During warmer months this gutter problem also leads to a grimy fulllength waterfall leaking directly between your vehicle and your belongings.
Called several weeks before end of rental month to notify I was moving out. Moved out 1 day after the rental period expired and was charged a full months rent. Was told the new owners do not pro-rate the rent. Paying a full months rent for 1 day of use seems excessive. Poor form.
I chose Extra Space Storage in Ballston Spa because of their prices, value, security, and cleanliness. Its a short trip from Albany to my storage unit and Ballston Spa, maybe 15 miles. However, the trip is well worth the value that I get in the price that I pay for rent. Renting a storage space closer to the Albany is just a little too expensive for my blood. The same space at an Albany storage facility would cost me at least 50% more. One storage place in Latham would have charged me over 100% more for the same space. Extra Space Storage is a good bargain if you dont mind making the trip to Ballston Spa. In fact the trip is very enjoyable. I highly recommend them.
Had called in to get information. I have called several different places and was very unsatisfied until I called extra space. The girl on the phone who was named Tammy was extremely knowledable and answered all my questions. My business will be with extra space from now on!!

2022-05-17I have stored 2 travel trailers here. The first one was small and I could back it into the smaller RV spaces that were delineated with posts on either side of the spot. When I bought my second trailer, it was too wide to safely back into the same spot. I spoke with Nayomi about it and she found me a better spot on asphalt that fit perfectly and at a discount! She is so helpful and friendly. You are very lucky to have her to manage this facility. Thank you!

Dan, the manager went over and above to accommodate my needs and my budget. He even helped me to get acclimated to the town and surroundings as I just moved to the area. I highly recommend this business.

2021-11-01I rented a temp controlled unit for a year while I was building. We had all kinds of stuff in there from TVs to furniture. We had no issues at all no pest damage or mold. I was very pleased with my unit.
