I got a Brazilian sugaring at this location (Park Slope) and absolutely hated my experience. I will never return here. The sugar waxing was only mediocre, moderately painful and, most of all, the customer service was dismal. The front desk clerk didnt make eye contact, so the vibe of the space already started out on an unwelcoming note. My aesthetician did not introduce herself. Her sugaring technique was okay, but notably more painful than my previous experiences getting Brazilians at other establishments. When she was completed, I asked for a cold-water soaked paper towel, rather than the oil or lotion that was offered. And instead of getting me what I asked for, she sprayed a towel with a purifying and calming solution, at which point I asked if it had alcohol in it, to which she confidently said no. After she left the room, I checked the label and it clearly stated in the ingredient list (in not-so-small font) that there is alcohol in the solution. When I brought it to her attention, she did apologized, but I caught her glancing at her coworker, as they both rolled their eyes. A totally unprofessional operation. I will never come back here again.
Was nervous as a first time waxer, but the staff was patient, friendly, and did a great job. Bonus points for the clean interior, organic ingredients, and a discount for first timers. Will definitely visit again.
Hello i had the pleasure of receiving my first sugaring wax with sugarista TiAhna and i must say she is very professional and so sweet. She also made me feel super comfort for my first time and i will defintely be back..so if you ever book at park slope please book Ti’Ahnna 😘 she wont disappoint

For my first sugaring experience it was very pleasant and I would not consider myself a new frequent customer. I went for a Brazilian and a vagacial and I left feeling AMAZING! Unfortunately I don’t remember the name of the young lady who serviced me but all of the start were very welcoming and professional. Side note: The young lady who serviced me also Gabe me some amazing tips and recommended a scrub that I could use that would help my bikini area.Way less painful than traditional waxing (then again that’s just me) and the vagacial felt heavenly ☺️ I cannot wait to go back!
This was my First time getting the Sugar wax. My Experience was Very delightful. Taniqua was very polite and Professional. She will definitely be my go too person.
Im new to waxing/sugaring so I dont have any previous experiences to compare to. That said, Ive been here twice, and both sessions were quick yet thorough, the process was a LOT less painful than I feared going in, and the staff were all very friendly and happy to answer my questions. I also didnt have to wait more than a couple minutes past my appointment time to be seen. So far Ive seen Alexis and Vay, and they were both great!
I got a lash lift & tint here. The end result so far is beautiful and exactly what I wanted, but overall the experience could use some help. It was my first time at this establishment and also my first time ever getting this procedure. The technician communicated absolutely nothing to me. She didnt ask if I had ever done it before, tell me her name, or walk me through any step of the procedure. Laying down with your eyes held shut for roughly 45 minutes with no idea what is happening is actually quite a claustrophobic experience, especially with your eyelashes taped up and having cold chemicals painted on. I never knew when she was going to touch my face or what she was doing. I was also left with some dye on my face and left over chemicals around my eyes. I had to ask for all followup information regarding care etc. Also, the radio was on & it was fully staticky and cutting in and out. I know this seems small and nit picky, this made a big difference to me, sitting in silence for 45 mins listening to crackly Dave Mathews Band cut in and out while your eyes are held shut is not a great experience.Over all, the end result looks good, but for something that costs almost as much as a haircut I would really appreciate communication throughout the process. And preferably music that works, or none at all honestly. Even with the satisfactory end result I do not really want to go back because of how stressful it was.

I just had a very unpleasant phone call with their receptionist about my very unpleasant visit this Monday. She had attitude and sounded like she was ready to fight. I explained her the situation - I walk in and ask to get a sugaring done the three girls sitting out front start making faces at each other, it seemed like they didnt want to take me at all. One of them did take me but didnt do her ONE job correctly, i still have hair in the front, middle and back - all I was offered was get it redone, but honestly who has time to go all the way down to Park Slope? I told her thank you for you offer I have to decline but have a wonderful day and all she said was ummmm Okay.Sugaring NYC train your people, they need some basic costumer service skills.

Its only ok if you need a quick sugar appointment because your normal lady isnt available.Reasons for mark down:- Cleanliness of the spa: as I laid down I stared up at previous sugar with hair stuck to the ceilings- Quality products are not used: she wiped me down with a paper towel- Esthetician still left a good amount of hairs and didnt do a good clean up job-No spa like feel: she had me undress but there were no towels to cover up. It felt like a hospital bed room with no real ambience.Reason for mark up:-Convenient location-Open until 9pm-Availability of appointment times
This was my first time at this business and my first time doing Sugaring, so I was a bit nervous. I had also read some bad reviews which made me more nervous. It turned out I was nervous for no reason.The place was pretty , clean and smelled great. There were treats in the waiting area as well as water. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. My esthetician Jaylyn was professional kind and friendly and made the whole uncomfortable process a lot better. I appreciate her patience and knowledge. I would recommend 👌

It was my first time and I booked the Brazilian and a vajacial. Samantha took great care of my scared self, we took breaks and deep breaths to get through! I’ll be back soon
If you can pick another location I recommend it. Normally I love Sugaring NYC and looking back this was one of my less pleasant experiences. I will say they are strict on timeliness and I called ahead since I was running late, and they were able to keep me in. Sometimes the employees will remind you to breathe and relax and this lady didn’t. The service hurt a little more than usual, and I didn’t think too much of it, and the next day I noticed that my skin was peeling which I’d never seen before. Also the lady stayed in the room as I got dressed and said I could tip her zelle, cashapp, or Venmo. I was nice and tipped her cash but looking back it was kinda unprofessional.
Decided to share my experience via this outlet due to lack of response from the customer service email provided by the front desk. Disturbed by the absence of higher level management within the business and their lack of response to rectify problematic service and experiences as per reviews posted by clients.Level of Professionalism:Front desk staff, at times, are unprofessional and some lack basic customer service skills, a friendly attitude and are not mature. I am concerned with deficiency in problem solving and communication skills of certain front desk staff. Often, clients are disregarded by the representative at the front desk, which is alarming when you want to report an issue with service and you have to deal with a staffer that doesnt have the aptitude to offer a solution, except for sharing an email to submit complaints and those complaints go unnoticed.Sugaring Service:Started my Sugaring journey earlier this year and found the perfect Sugarist (Kemali) that was attentive, communicated well and made the experience comfortable for a first timer. After my Sugarist moved on, I was encouraged to choose another Sugarist to continue services.Currently, there are two Sugarist that I worked with on the roster that lack cultural competency when Sugaring Black skin. These two reps were extremely aggressive, dismissive and when communicating about level of pain when extracting the sugar, I was ignored and told to pick another Sugarist next time. When asked if I can get numbing spray, they often share that it doesnt work and not worth purchasing, that too was alarming.Why is Numbing Spray offered as a service online if the reps that are suppose to sell it tell us it doesnt work? What other option is available for customers?If youre willing to play roulette until you find a Sugarist that works for you at this location, and if youre susceptible to pain, you may want to numb your skin first. If not, you will leave with excruciating pain and later your skin will suffer the consequence of their lack of sensitivity to your skin, especially if you have Black skin.Location:Perfect location, in the heart of Park Slope and next to public transportation and theres always parking available.The waiting area and rooms are clean and aesthetically welcoming.Overall:Enjoyed transitioning from wax to Sugaring and it is a bit more painful than waxing but the results are great. However, the experience has to be comfortable.I suggest management contact clients that expressed concerns via google reviews and provide more meaningful responses, conduct spot checks at this location and change current communication practices to ensure clients are comfortable and happy with services, especially Black customers.I do not think I will return to this location and currently seeking an establishment that can deal with Black skin.Hope this helps.
Ive been going here for a few months and have had great experiences with the previous technicians, especially for bikini sugaring. Today I was running late (called ahead to let them know), and did not have an appointment with the technician who I normally go to. The person I had today purposely rushed through and take off some of my skin along the way. My skin is normally a little pink after, but it was bright red today after sugaring, and putting my pants back on hurt in the area that was sugared. When I finished dressing, i came out to hear the technician justifying to her coworkers why it was alright that my skin hurt because I was late. I cannot believe that this kind of behavior is tolerated at this place. I will not be coming back due to its lack of professionalism; I would have readily rescheduled instead having my skin ripped off.

I started coming here based on a friends recommendation after my sugaring place closed. I have been here twice and will not be returning. Firstly, there are no wax pots, the sugar is heated up in the microwave at the beginning of the appointment. A week after after the first appointment I had sooo many ingrowns I thought my body just had a different reaction to the sugar here. After the 2nd apt I had more ingrowns and a boil which tells me they simply cleaning properly. Also the wax hurt soooo much, Im usually able to get through it easily. Staff was always nice.
My aunt has been to this location a total of 3 times for a Brazilian wax. The staff is usually very pleasant, kind and gentle. Today, she booked with Hodalis. She is an absolutely TERRIBLE and UNPROFESSIONAL person. The experience my aunt had today was very unprofessional. First off, Hodalis stated that the appointment was for something else, which was completely untrue. We have confirmation that she was booked for a Brazilian wax as always. She stated with a terrible attitude “well next time book it right and don’t book the wrong thing”. Afterwards, during the wax, she was extremely rougher than the other 2 staff members were. My aunt asked her to ease up and she completely ignored her and continued the waxing terribly. This is so disappointing, because we go to this location often and refer many friends and family, just to be met with such an unprofessional person. If you book, I highly recommend Anyone else but Hodalis.
It was my first time here and trying sugaring. The place was clean. The receptionist was friendly and courtesy. Didn’t wait long before being seen. Macy was great!!! I asked questions she answered. I asked about pain before she started and she said it’ll hurt a little more and she explained why. She made sure I was comfortable. She sugared with precision just in case I couldn’t take the pain so I just didn’t have a weird patch of hair left if I wanted to stop half way. We talked through the whole experience which made it pleasant. I definitely prefer this over waxing.

I went the first time a few months ago had a great experience so I booked it again before I went on vacation this month. They called me to cancel right before the appointment then reschedule me for the next day and then they called again right before the appointment the following day and told me my women is running late, which meant I could not get my full experience I requested for. Never coming back, no thank you. Not good customer service for the amount of money I am paying for.

Ive gotten waxed elsewhere and had a bad experience. Some years later, I wanted to try it again and upon researching, I found this place. I like the fact that sugaring hurts less and is better for the skin.. The atmosphere here is great, prices are reasonable and the employees are very nice and patient. I go to Delores or Alexis.
I always have a pleasant visit to SugaringNYC- Park Slope. Theres never a wait, even if Im early (and Im almost always early). The studio is always pristine and the ladies are polite and take care of me the moment I walk into the door. Ive been to three locations so far (Park Slope,, Midtown, and Union Sq) and the service is consistent across locations. 11/10 recommend if youre looking for a natural and rewarding waxing experience.Also their Coconut Organic Sugar Scrub is A++++!
I scheduled an appointment yesterday at 4:00pm for a full Brazilian wax with Kamali. Her energy was throwing me off and she honestly didn’t give me a nice and pleasant experience that I received before. I asked her to use my personal powder because it’s more gentle on my skin and she completely disregarded what I said and proceeded to use the company’s brand. It’s already not easy getting waxed and she just made me feel uncomfortable. Even my boyfriend noticed her demeanor so I know it wasn’t just me. And when I told her that I no longer wanted to proceed with the service, she immediately left the room and started conversing with another coworker. Just completely unprofessional and I can’t say I’ll be returning.
Ok so I went here a few months ago but I’m just now reviewing old spots I’ve been and this place deserves a shout out. The CARE, ATTENTION, and LOVE these people give you from the moment you walk in the door was everything and so much more. A really great environment and the workers were so careful and attentive. Definitely going back, I just live an hour away otherwise would be back sooner. Hiiighly recommended.
It was my first wax of any kind and I feel wonderful. My appointment was on time and the staff were friendly. Pricing is very reasonable considering the circumstances and nature of the services. I was also able to buy their home wax kit!
So I called to this place to do my first waxing and the lady I spoke with had set me up with an appointment for 6:40pm. I showed up and when I got there on time the sign was up for closed. So now I call and they answer the phone I asked if they was closed because the sign said so , she go to say no we r open . So now she comes to open the door then turn the sign to say they r open. Now I’m inside thinking I’m going to have my first wax and she go to tell me they r closing in 5 minutes and would I like to reschedule because they have a 10 minute grace time but mind u I been standing out side in the rain on top of that took a 35 mint ride out to this place for my first time wax. Not a cool experience so on that note I will not be coming back for they service.

Deloras is the best. I’ve done sugaring a couple times now and will be visiting her permanently. She was so thorough and made it as painless as possible. I took two Advil before my visit and the pain level was like a 3/10 compared to traditional waxing places.
Today I went back to Sugaring NYC - Brooklyn, my second appointment, first one being in February. Im not going to lie, it hurt A LOT due to months of like... you know, not doing that and not getting accustomed like I had planned to. But my experience was only better despite the pain.Devonequa was my person today... My first visit was great but for my second time, with her, it was fantastic. Shes very knowledgable and friendly. Talked to me majority of the time and it was a great distraction. I already told her Im about to be her regular. She informed me on aftercare practices and even dropped extra knowledge on why it is important.If you go here and get her, youre in great hands! Customer service was top notch and we know thats not always a thing. Thanks again Devonequa! Ill see you in a month!
The only reason why I’m giving this location a 3 star is because instead of using a official Warner for the sugar wax they use a microwave it looks unprofessional coming from someone who works in the beauty industry. However my waxer I think her name was Kamali was absolutely amazing, professional and kind.

This was my first time ever, going through this process. I did my research to the best of my ability and was originally going to go to a wax center. I’m so glad a friend suggested this instead. I was greeted warmly by Anisha (sorry girl if I misspell it) and Genet took care of me. She conversed with me and answered all my questions before, during and after. I can only imagine the searing lasting pain of waxing compared to sugaring (which DID hurt but less than what I anticipated). I’m happy with my decision to do this and already made my appointment for next month. So glad it’s in Brooklyn 🥰💛

2022-04-24Absolutely love this place! I was lucky enough to get serviced by Samantha. I got a Brazilian and underarm for the first time. I was a mess!! But she was sooo patient with me. I loved that! She even gave me the best after instructions and tips on my dry skin. 10/10 recommend! I’ll never touch a razor again!

2022-04-17What a bummer! I went here for the first time after trying and failing at home sugaring during the quarantine. Had an appointment with Samantha because she had so many good reviews but I got home and my legs are covered in hair. I feel like I have just as much stubble as I had when I went in. The one star is for the receptionist who was awesome and very friendly. What a waste of money!

Let me tell you, waxing is very personal, she made me feel so relaxed and very comfortable that I would not want to go to no one.else if she is not available. 2022-02-14Came here because they had half off sugaring for first time customers. The decor is beautiful, but the quality of the sugaring service is lacking. The sugarist went over the same spots multiple times and made the experience a lot more painful than it needed to be. Even though she went over it multiple times, the end result was still not smooth. I couldve shaved at home for free if I wanted to have stubble. She did not pull the hair out of the root at all. Would not recommend this spot.

2022-02-27I absolutely love this place everybody is so kind and welcome and it’s really clean .I had Samantha did my wax and she’s absolutely so amazing she makes you feel so comfortable she’s literally the sweetest, she takes her time and know exactly what she is doing one of the best wax I had because of her, her Service is amazing 10/10 when she’s finish with you. You definitely feel like a brand new person I recommend her

2022-05-25I had grown my hair to try sugaring after waxing. The room had inadequate lighting which was a glaring issue as when I got home, my legs still had a TON of hair. Its like the hair all broke off and wasnt actually pulled at the root. Horrible experience, it has been one week and my legs are hairy again. In theory, sugaring sounds great but I wasted my money by growing out and coming here. Do not recommend. Practitioners are friendly but very young. Going back to waxing elsewhere.

2022-02-05So I’ve been to Sugar NYC in Astoria and Manhattan and it is NOTHING like this location. If you don’t find your go to girl you will suffer trying to find one that actually knows how to sugar wax . I don’t know what it is about this location but each person does sugaring differently and WRONG. Only 3 women in there actually know how to sugar. I once had a woman put cold sugaring paste on me and tried to strip it off like Hard wax. Like girl, do you even know what your doing?! Also the women never stick around 🚩. Management should do a better job of making sure their workers are properly trained on sugaring. All I can say is find your girl 😭 and pay for your kitty.
