I came here to get my eyelashes treated. The check in was simple and I was taken within 10 min of getting there. Once I came into the room, my tech started working on me quickly. She was nice and pretty efficient initially, but once she reached my other eye it seemed like she was less careful. For whatever reason, the way she applied the gel mold on my eye seemed to expose my top waterline, whereas the first eye did not have that happen. I didnt mind initially but with every coat she applied, my eye began stinging more and more. It wasnt painful but it was pretty uncomfortable for a process that should have me relax essentially. I was also lowkey afraid that I would have eye damage from the chemicals used.She also liked humming/singing to the radio for a lot of songs during the treatment lol. Not anything crazy but a little too casual for a professional treatment. During some wait periods the tech left a couple of times. At one point, she left and the alarm to remove something from my eyes went off for almost a minute which was annoying to listen to. I would have expected her to respond immediately by hearing/knowing she had to be right back. At the end, after removing the glue and whatnot, my eyes were pretty blurry for like 20 min. Not sure if that couldve been avoided by being more careful or if that is a standard after-effect. She also did not remove all the glue carefully at all. There was a bunch of glue chunks on my eyelids that I kept peeling off throughout the night. Dont know if all places have this happen but either way I wouldve appreciated her bringing it up so it doesnt look like the job wasnt fully done. When I checked my lashes in the mirror the ends werent tinted well. There is a clear distinction of brown to blond tips which for the money I would expect to be fully tinted. If thats not possible, I expect them to mention that during the process to keep me informed of what to expect. However, I feel that a tint at home would fix the tips pretty seamlessly.In the grand scheme of things, these are all things that dont really matter but for a $100 treatment I would expect more professionalism/attention to detail. My lashes definitely still look good and natural which is what I came there for and they gave a free product of my choice between 3 items which is a plus. The product was almost $30 (lash/eyebrow growth serum) and has good ingredients that I feel comfortable putting on my face which is nice.Ultimately, if youre one for the end product and not the process of being pampered, this place is just fine. But if another salon charges equally and has high ratings/reviews, I would probably try their salon over sugaring nyc midtown.
THE ABSOLUTE WORST!!! This location was SO FREAKING COLD that she could barely keep the sugar warm. I had to abandon 2 of my services because I was SHAKING from being so cold. I am extremely familiar with sugaring—I have made my own sugar wax and have sugared myself multiple times but sometimes I like to have someone else do it. This is the second time I have been to this location, the first time I got someone who had clearly never done any services before. I want my money back, and I want to make sure NO ONE ever uses this location. Horrible.

Got my first ever wax here & the receptionist, unbeknownst to me, booked me with a specialist thats particularly good for newbies! She was very sweet and patient with my first full bikini (initially booked as a brazilian). I rebooked after my appointment on a day she ended up calling out & was matched with the specialist that was covering her appointments. Wouldve liked to be told ahead of time but it honestly wouldnt have changed me keeping my appointment so I guess its no biggie. The woman I had had a completely different approach ; she wanted to go as quick as possible since she knows Im a newbie and thought getting it over with was in my best interest. Id prefer to not be rushed but Im not upset with her logic. That being said, would not book with her again. Fyi I have thick, coarse hairs with up to 3 hairs per follicle so Im prone to ingrowns. Ive noticed a thinning & reduction in my hair after the first session.
I had a great experience here yesterday. FYI my hair is thick! It was my first time trying sugaring. I love how this place looks on the inside, nice and pink! My was esthetician, Andrea was super friendly and inviting. She did a great job. Ill definitely return back to this place.
I regularly get lash extensions at a different salon and wanted to try the Yumi lash lift to switch things up. After doing research and seeing positive reviews for this place, I made an appointment but now extremely regret it.I let the lady who did my lift know that it was my first time and asked if it would be a problem that I had a few lashes that were a bit broken/damaged from extensions. She reassured me that it would not be. Throughout the process, I asked a few questions, and her responses made it seem like she had just been trained to work with lashes since she either had no idea what I was talking about or was clearly guessing.Not only do my lashes look exactly the same as before (I also got the tint and they are the exact same color), I have a few eyelashes that are sticking straight out or sideways. It’s possible that my lashes weren’t in great condition to be treated, but this should have been made known to me up front. Huge waste of $140 - this comes off as dishonest and unprofessional.
I found this place through a Google search. My usual wax lady wasnt available and I was getting ready to go away. I was pleased to find this place was open and willing to see me at the last minute. I was also pleased to find that this was the most comfortable wax I had ever experienced. Although this business is far from my home, this will be my new home for body waxing.
Don’t waste your time. The blonde hair Girl who looked trashy, said the hair wasn’t long enough so she couldn’t do her job. They waste your trip to tell you that as opposed to letting you know beforehand what the protocols are for hair length. Awful place would never come back and I didn’t even have a service yet.
RINA is the best!!! It was my first wax and she was professional and made me relax. It was a lovely experience. Rina is quick, sweet, non judgmental & just overall made me feel very comfortable. Really happy I decided to try this but Rina is definitely the reason I will keep going back to this place.
The people here are very nice, but my sugaring experience was incredibly painful. Two minutes before my appointment, I got a text that it was rescheduled for 30 minutes later. Since I was right outside the salon, I went in and was seen right away, but was told by the woman doing my wax that she did not have any appointments after me as an explanation. That to me was very frustrating because I was going to have a delayed appointment for no real reason. Once the wax started (I got a brazilian), it was very painful. While the woman doing my wax was very nice, she had a very difficult time and kept telling me that the wax was not working since it was humid and because I was sweating. I felt that wasnt great customer service. Ultimately, this woman had to go outside and bring in another woman in order to finish the wax. Getting a brazilian wax is a very personal thing, so it was very uncomfortable and embarrassing to be in a position where it isnt working and very painful and then have your original lady call in back up! With the second woman, ash she tried finishing the sugaring, it was incredibly painful. I have a very high pain tolerance, but tears were coming into my eyes. In the end, my area down there STILL had remaining hairs and was actually sore for 2 or 3 days following the sugaring. I have been waxing for a long time and have never experienced that soreness before. Overall, I would not recommend this salon. While the people are very nice, they are not well trained or communicative, dont make you feel comfortable, and sugaring is not as painless as they say!
I have Andrea for my upper legs removal. Maybe I was late for ny appointment she has other client coming in so shes very rush. The residues on my legs were not wipe off clean and remains very sticky on my legs. At the moment my legs feel fine nothing hurt or seem abnormal but when I go home several areas on my legs have purple marks. Andrea was nice except that shes kinda too rush and not a 10/10 service that I expect. I think spent 47 for just the upper legs is not cheap and exclude the tips. I got like about 10mins for the whole procedure. The waxing wasnt very effective to remove the hair in my result and experience. I will look other place.
I had an appt today at 5pm. I got a call saying the girl I had an appt with is running late. I will have to come and wait outside until she is ready. They dont know how long I would have to wait. I ask can you can Call and I can come over since I live close by. I was told no the reception left. Very unprofessional. I canceled my appt.
Tiffany was the esthetician that serviced me and I must say she did an amazing job! This was my very first time being sugared, previously I used the waxing and threading method for my eyebrows. I decided to give sugaring a chance and I was really impressed. My eyebrows have NEVER looked this good. It has been two weeks and they are still arched and slightly tinted. Thank you Tiffany, will see you next week!!!Side note: see Tiffany, she is always booked so try to book early. She has great customer service skills, very knowledgeable in her field, and professional... She will answer all of your questions and concerns.
Went in today for my first wax, EVER. My hair was long & thick. I got a full bikini wax & oh man was it so different that what I expected! The place was small but clean, cute and cozy. Also very pink! Lol I had the pleasure to work with Andrea. She was quick, sweet, non judgemental & just overall made me feel very very comfortable. It wasnt that painful. I look good & I feel great. Literally almost no pain afterwards. Really happy I decided to do this!! Will be seeing Andrea next month ☺☺
First time here. Visiting from out of state. Easy booking. Cute space. Friendly staff. Sayuri was my sugar esthetician and she was fantastic. Probably my best and painless sugaring experience to date and I’ve been doing it for years. I travel a lot and have tried multiple places. Thorough with tweezing. Clean with multiple glove changes and option for tea tree oil afterwards. Highly recommend Sayuri. Will use her anytime I’m in the area.
Lynn did my sugaring and she was amazing. It was quick and after the first few sections it was almost painless. She spoke to me throughout the process and even recommended products that i should use. I would definitely recommend her.
Sugaring NYC is what i was searching for. When i used to do waxing i was always getting bumps and ingrown hair. Sugaring NYC girls do Everything completely different way, they remove the hair without braking it and they remove it in the direction of the hair growth, so its much less painful and results last two times longer. Im not their new loyal customer - i bought the yearly Unlimited package that they offer, amazing deal - you can even save money. Its same price as waxing by the way, but much much better.
Once I found this place, I havent been anywhere else since! Thank goodness a friend of mine told me about Sugaring NYC. The staff is very nice! And the decor is so cute and girly. I love a sugar wax because it really lasts longer than a regular Brazilian. Plus it doesnt hurt as much as you may think it would!
This was my first sugaring. I felt welcome once I sat down to wait. I like the privacy of the individual rooms. My waxer, KoKo, she was super friendly and made sure I wasnt too focus on the waxing itself. It will take some getting use to. But I am happy with the results, I look forward to booking my next appointment!!!

LOVELY EXPERIENCE AT SUGARING NYC! I recently moved to NYC from Atlanta and I used to love get sugared in ATL. I couldnt find a sugaring salon where I live in Queens and my few waxing experiences here have been HORRIBLE. I was determined to find a great, reputable salon for my sugaring needs. I found this place through some Google research and decided to give it a try. I scheduled a 6:45p appt. w/ Priya and I arrived at 6:40p. By 6:50p I was undressed and starting my session. She was so sweettt!!! Great conversation, funny, made me forget I was getting done. She was done in less than 30 minutes. MY FASTEST SUGARING EVER! And she did a dam good job might I add. It wasnt rushed and she was thorough. My total for the visit was $60 + $3 tax and I tipped $8.......I advise that you book WEEKS OR MONTHS in advance because the time slots get taken quickly. Especially if youre trying to go after work hours. Those slots are taken FIRST (4-6p) So plan accordingly. Other than that, great 1st time at SNYC and I will be coming back......also, if you book your follow-up appointment at the end of uour visit,you get 10% off the next visit. Thought that was really nice.....Thanks guys!
Important update : the manager pressures people into taking down their reviews for refunds or other things. I know that a lot of one star reviews were taken down for money and I wasn’t the only girl who got a staph infection from this place. I even talked to a few girls on yelp and they all said “yeah I did get a staph infection, but shes giving me a refund if I take down the review”. The place should give you a refund either way...I got the same message from the manager. I tried calling them before that about what happend but they didnt care at all until I left tons of bad reviews.... please stay away Its a fake business. Pretending to be good and hygienicWhile my first time here was amazing the second was the opposite.While the girl who sugared me was extremely nice and put alot of effort into her work, she did a horrible job. She just broke off my hair and didnt pull It out by the root. My hair started growing back TWO DAYS later and I paid $250...the first 3 days I had over 20 small pimples on my bikini area. After that cleared up, I started getting red bumps on my stomach and back. Turns out I have a STAPH INFECTION..!! I also dealt with horrible huge ingrown hairs on my bikini area that turned into huge pimples. Definitely something my boyfriend was looking forward to after not seeing me for 6 months :)
Megan was wonderful. It was my first time here and had only waxed once before. Sugaring is so much better and Megan was patient, efficient and somehow sent me off with a smile!
Im not mad at the end result, but I was not happy with the service. Tbh the girl (I wont give out her name)seemed like she didnt really know what she was doing. She was concerned with just getting me in and out and I just feel that it couldve been done with more care. Id rather slow and more precise than quick to just get me out the door. Plus I dont like that she was on her phone while I was taking a couple seconds for a break from all that pain. (it hurt WAYYYY more than wax)
This review is for Priya. Otherwise, i would give the place 1-2 stars.Priya is fantastic and the only person I go to for waxing. Ive been sugaring since my time in SF and finding someone in NYC is impossible. I highly recommend her for her skill, warmth, and professionalism.As for the other staff, Ive had largely negative experiences with them. I have found them inflexible, rude, and unaccommodating. They also do not pick up the phone should you be running a few minutes late.Priya is the opposite and the only person you should be booking services with!
Buy the sugar wax yourself and learn to do it at home!Went to SugaringNYC, it was just ok, nothing special. Looks like I shaved.It was my 1st time, was over 15mins late and I apologized profusely for being so tardy. Luckily, I scheduled 2 diff. services, and was still able to get one done. Honestly, I wish I wouldve just been turned down altogether or rescheduled. For a 1st timer it was unwelcoming and cold experience. I did leave a good tip. But heres an even better tip to you, buy the sugar wax and do it yourself. Thats what I did!
I think i tried every waxing place in New York, and Sugaring NYC is the best. Their stuff is absolutely the best in the industry, everyone is smiling and you can see that they are happy to provide the services. Their office looks amazing pinky and sweet. It took me about three weeks to think about writing this, but as a woman who knows how easily a girls or womans image of herself is easily changed by other peoples words. I think its just right I do. I was pretty excited about my appointment and got there pretty nervous also. When I got there, I was met by a girl called JAS. I told her my insecurities and explained it was first my time. While we proceeded, she made me feel abit better, but I stopped her as it was abit to painful for me. She reassured me it was normal, but I couldnt do it any longer. As she left the room, I quickly got dressed and walked out to find her to pay her and give her a tip. As I came out of the room, I could hear her and another worker laughing at me and how I was down there. I was very disappointed, as women are already insecure about their bodies, and having someone they trust to go in such a private place is absurd. I WILL not be coming back or recommending my co-workers or friends here. I feel so violated and dissappointed.
Ive been twice. The 2nd time hurt much less and pain lasts a few seconds. Take a 500mg Tylenol before. Rina is the best at the 5th Avenue location. She makes you feel so comfortable in an uncomfortable situation. I highly recommend Sugaring NYC

I used to be a customer in their Downtown location, but now, when they moved to Midtown, right by the place where i work, im so excited before my Appointment today. I think anyone who still does waxing, have to switch to Sugaring, its so much better.- Tiff
I have been here 3 times and have never had a bad experience. The technicians are all nice and talkative. It seems really clean, and they change gloves each time they go to use the wax, which is good.
The best best best place in the world. :) where stormy pain is funny haha excellent service, always very clea , Priyas amazing and loving, wax works miracles, my previous burns skin has surprisingly improved, not mistreat my skin, leaves it soft and is not painful as the other. Recommend it 100%!!!
Sugaring NYC is the best hair removal salon in New York and Tri-state. Ive been to i think all major hair removal salons in last few years but once i discovered Sugaring NYC is stopped looking for anything else. They are just the best.

Best Sugaring in New York hands down. Ive tried waxing in other places, its always not that you expect - either too painful or results are not good. Sugaring is 100% organic and one of the Sugaring NYC specialists even gave me sugar to try as a candy. Delicious. Its made of Sugar and lime juice. They have customers coming from Pennsylvania, Staten Island, Queens and all over the tri-state. Sugaring NYC is the best sugaring place in manhattan. They are also about to open location in Florida. So Miami NYC, im sure will be the best place on South Beach.
Efficient, clean, and friendly. I prefer the sugaring over traditional wax as well. The hair grows back slower and sparser. Feels a little weird at first but you get used to it.
Extremely unprofessional. My appointment was moved once and then I was asked to move it again. No proper reasons are given and they dont even move it to same day. Appointments are moved over a week..
Really nice vibes. The lady, tiana (i think her name was) made me feel very comfortable and it was very minimal pain and i absolutely love the results.

I wouldnt recommend anyone to come here. A bunch of fake workers. I gave them the benefit of doubt by going multiple times. Every time I get sugared I get a bunch of bumps and rash from areas that I got sugared.

The person that was attending me was Selena and she was very funny, super warm and made my sugaring experience so much better. She made me feel very comfortable. My skin didn’t feel irritated at all. 2022-05-12I originally booked the Columbus circle location but they called me right before my appointment to tell me I was being transferred to the midtown location. Not sure why, but I was fine with it.The staff was really nice. I heard sugaring is supposed to be better for your skin than waxing (less traumatic and less chance of ingrown hairs after).Forget the numbing cream though—it didn’t do anything. Even the aesthetician admitted it doesn’t do too much unless it sits there for a super long time. But the results I got were fantastic and I now I regularly get sugared before going on vacation!The only thing that is a little off-putting is the just how pink the walls and decor are. While sitting in the waiting room, I felt like my eyes were wonking out after a few minutes.

2022-04-21This afternoon I had my first sugar service at Sugaring NYC- Midtown with Zarema B. Zarema B was very kind , attentive and highly knowledgeable about hair removal care and over all skin care. She engaged with me in convo throughout my whole sugaring service which kept my mind off the pain a bit. She gave me helpful tips to reduce my irritation around the bikini area etc which I will definitely be following! I can’t wait to visit again and have Zarema be my go to person! The lady at the front desk was also super nice and communicated with me very kindly when I was running late myself.

2022-05-20I really wanted to like this location. Its really presentable in the inside and clean. I have been sugaring for almost 2 years now and I decided to try this location and was disappointed. My appointment was at 2:30 and wasnt attended until 2:50. I was unaware that this location is understaffed, but that is still no excuse to attend me 20 minutes after my appointment while she was waxing someone else during my appointment time. Very unorganized, what was the point of making an appointment at a certain time then? The wax was well done but I didnt appreciate waiting so long.

2021-08-29I tried laser hair removal for about a year and a half and it just didn’t work. So I returned to waxing. I never tried sugar wax but I’ve tried hard wax in the past. Because it was a while, the wax was slightly painful but the technician was great- funny and personable. She made me feel comfortable during the whole process. I also love that they do ingrown hair extractions! They were about 15 mins late on my appointment time but since I wasn’t in a rush, I didn’t mind. I was happy that I tried it out and will definitely return. Super smooth results.

2021-12-14I was a total scaredy cat to try sugaring but I realized that shaving was also making my life hell. I decided to give this place a shot for more sensitive areas and it was bittersweet but worth it. The wait room was comfortable with tea and candy and a friendly receptionist. My technician janaya started right on time and cleaned all the tools and room. The bed was fairly comfortable but the furniture looked a little worn out. I hated the bright lights and loud radio, it would of been better to have a more relaxed spa setting to calm my nerves. The numbing spray is a five dollar extra charge and I cannot say it helped much. The tech was super sweet and a good sport with my moments of panic , she may have gotten a little flustered with my ten thousand questions but she actually taught me a lot about exfoliating and post care to have a better experience next time. The appointment went quick and she didnt make the sugar too hot and did little spots at a time. She did not force me to do anything that I didnt want to do which made me more comfortable. I like the exfoliating products between 12-20 bucks depending on size. Full bikini was 45 and ingrown treatment was $20. Making appointments was super easy on portal with tons of time slots open.The ingrown treatment was a lifesaver, I feel so much better already and that was pretty painless. For new customers you will find that the pulling of the sugar over the root is more painful then the ripping of the sugar itself, I told her to slow down a few times and she helped me breathe through it. I don’t feel any odd adverse reactions and not super sticky, the difference I feel with sugaring versus wax is there is no odd raw throbbing pain or redness. I want to come back here consistently to reap the long term effects of thinner to permanent hair loss.

2022-01-20I booked a service 6 hours before the same day. I got a confirmation text. I show up and I was told that they left a voicemail and that the aesthetician I requested was not available and that my appointment was cancelled. I did not receive a voicemail, phone call, email, or text indicating as such. I also selected any available aesthetician that day and did not request a particular one. Lady at the front desk had an attitude when I told her I received no communication. I don’t know what their services are like, but I will advise you call ahead of time to make sure your service was not cancelled.

Didn’t really appreciate that but everything else went smoothly
