Suitsupply in other cities:
Dont waste your time or money.Quality of the materials and designs have gone down in recent years. You can book appointments online, but I have consistently had to wait between 20-35 minutes for each appointment (even when just picking up an order). There is a ton of staff, but they all mill around looking at their iPads or iPhones without actually helping customers.Tailoring and alterations have not been completed on time. They dont answer the phone. They dont respond to voicemails. The one plus for them is that they carry size 32 jackets and suits.
I was very disappointed during my last visit at Suitsupply. I booked an appointment at 6pm at the branch at Madison Avenue on Sunday May 15th. I reached there on time but then was asked to wait. i waited for 45 minutes. When no one came I went to the front desk asking how much the wait time is?. They then directed me to Mr. Phill who had no patience and told me that he wants me to get in and out in 10 minutes. I told him that i need to try and see but he replied that he does not have the suit in that size and i need to pay and order it. The size wasnt there and he did not give me any other options. He then told me to make an appointment next time and come. I replied that I had an appointment at 6. He then told me that I should have let the front desk know, I told him that I did that and to that he replied that I should have come on a weekday. I felt that this is not my fault that you guys were too busy to honor my appointment and I should have been rescheduled and not wasted my time.
Suits look fine. Had an appointment, tried to reschedule it and got no confirmation of the reschedule. Called to confirm; they were closed. Emailed to confirm, no response. Show up? No record of, but waitlist is a half hour. 45 minutes later the waitlist is 20-30 minutes. I get that things happen but to have no recourse except “ah sorry there’s an appointment in 5 days ¯_(ツ)_/¯” is pretty wild.
The description says, high end because of the stores location on Madison Ave in New York City. However, the staff offers a JcPenny or Macys level of customer service. I have shopped at SuitSupply stores all across the country. This location is by far the WORST. I you are looking for high-end boutique shopping experience avoid this location. The store manager (the one there during my shopping horror) was a millennial -- so you see where I am going. He spent more time on his iPhone vs helping me resolve an $2,500 order his sales person messed up. Very sad. Just have extremely low expectations for this location if you decide to shop at the Madison Ave location.
Andrew really made this one of the best suit shopping experiences I have ever had and I would definitely return and ask for him specifically! I went in expecting to get one suit and it was not what I expected but Andrew helped guide me towards another similar (and better) suit for a similar price point. Once I selected that he made the tailoring and customizing process so quick and easy. I really enjoyed my first experience here at Suitsupply and I am now a customer for life!
I am a first-time buyer from Suitsupply. My experience in the store itself was fantastic! Marcos was very helpful with finding the right suit that fit my body type, and was very understanding with regard to how I wanted the pants to fit. I really appreciated his expertise here! That being said, I ended up being charged incorrectly for my purchase (I was charged for a Havana in green instead of a Sienna in black, which Marcos had helped me to pick out and fitted me for in store), and Im concerned that when alterations are finished, Ill be picking up a suit different from what Id believed that I was purchasing!Edit: I visited the store to pick up, and Marcos was beyond helpful! He explained what was going on, and even noted some extra alterations! Definitely pleased here!
Extremely unprofessional Suitsupply store (and Ive done a few to compare).Service was okay and the store is nice looking. However, the salesman made a mistake in the delivery address, for an item which size wasnt available, while we defined clearly together that the item had to be delivered at the store (was in NYC for one week only). When I called 1 day later to ask what was happening, the store was explicitly ignoring my calls, putting me on hold for 20 minutes (unacceptable) and mimicking they didnt understand whilst the explanation was absolutely clear.I told them I was available to cancel the order and get a cash refund for the next 5 days, but they didnt bother one bit.Now I am stuck with a refund still undone, with no news (and no money) about the process for almost 20 days and I need to deal with the global customer service while everything could have been handled and canceled quickly at the store (which is the only source of the problem).Suitsupply has accustomed me to much better service in the past, and I love this brand so Im bothered to write this review - though this is only exclusive to this store.
I purchased the suit for my elopement ceremony from the SuitSupply location on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. I primarily worked with Vyanca Scott, who was incredibly efficient narrowing down their options to just the suit I wanted. She was patient as I ended up changing my mind a few times, and even ordered the exact suit I wanted from another location as they were out of stock. The tailoring process was fairly fast and I ended up only needing a few small changes during the second round. Overall, I love my suit and its a great deal for the price.
I like suit supply, so writing this post is upsetting to me.I walked in to this location close to a month ago, and after 30 minutes of waiting to get some assistance I managed to get Christina to help me. Even though I have bought 4 suits with them in the past, they were reluctant to help at first because I was transparent in the fact that I may want to learn a little about the custom suits before purchasing one on the spot.So I agreed to buy on the spot. I was abundantly clear with Christina- the worst salesperson I have ever dealt with- that I have a 4-5k budget and I intend to spend that much. For some reason, she did not take me serious and brushed it off even though I was literally wearing a suit supply suit.We went to the custom section of the store and I told her I want 2 custom suits and 10 shirts. She had no regard to what my interests were and just wanted to push it as fast as possible. She gave zero feedback, agreed with everything I said, and didn’t know a lot of information about different types and styles of suits that I did. She wanted to leave so I ordered 3 custom shirts instead of 10- again, horrible listening and feedback skills.Fast forward a month when I go in to pickup- suit pants fit me like boot cut pants, and the jacket 4 inches too short like a woman’s suit. It was pathetic and I did not even waste time trying on the custom shirts. Looking back, it was a blessing in disguise I did not spend all of that money getting everything I wanted because this was the most miserable and shameful sales experience I have ever had.Christina knows significantly less about suits than she should, not genuine, and overall gives off a very fake sense of caring that creeped me out. Total waste of time and now I am set back a month.
Soon as I stepped in I was greeted and directed towards Louis (or Lewis), who was incredibly friendly and welcoming, he took my name down and warned me there would be a wait (loved this) and got me a bottle of water while I waited for someone to help me.Christina helped pick out and tailor my suit and I honestly can’t put into words just how incredible and knowledgeable she was. The whole process was quick and enjoyable and was an overall positive experience. Can’t thank Louis and Christina enough for making my first visit a memorable one.
This was my first time coming to Suit Supply and it was one of the best retail experiences Ive had. I worked with Andrew Silver who went above and beyond. He was professional, affable and was extremely knowledgeable with how I should best select a suit. He was very patient, accommodating and took his time with me. The quality of service he provided was top tier. I would recommend him to anyone looking to buy their first suit.
Eric is awesome, he’s so so so helpful. There’s no friction communicating with him - he understands what you need, and he’ll give your recommendations that suit you well. Sometimes the store gets a bit busy, but when you find Eric, rest assured he’ll take care of you.Once we came to the store 20min before they close just to pick up a jacket. Someone offered to help us but they were double booked. So yeah we waited a bit. Then they went to pick up our jacket - we waited another 20min and no one got back to us. They started to close the store. I was a little anxious and impatient. Suddenly we saw Eric, a life saver, who recognized us and came to help. He went around the store just to find out where our jacket is, solved our problem. Thank you Eric!!! You are the best sales we’ve ever met. If you shop in this store, find him, you’ll get the most extraordinary experience!!
I bought a pair of double monk straps shoes today to wear to my black tie event. I get home and have two different sizes one 41 the other a 42 . I’m so upset . I waited there for 5 minutes for help . The box was beat up . Now I have to come in early to return them . Never received a receipt!!! Terrible job suit supply. I would expect this level of service some where else not on Madison ave!!!
Came in with my wife to look for an overcoat and we had a fantastic experience. Christina was incredibly helpful. Theres a huge assortment of choices but after just a few questions she helped me narrow down the options and within 15 minutes I was walking out with a coat that I love. Thank you!
Amazing staff and can-do attitudes. I chose Suitsupply to supply the suits for my wedding this past weekend and while it wasnt a huge order or anything, it was complicated in that we needed the suits to match, be correctly sized and delivered to different Suitsupply locations. I worked with Joe at this location and even when MY ERROR got the wrong colored suit to his store, he wasted ZERO time in getting the solution going and was able to deliver a perfect suit for my best man just in time. He was understanding, professional and acted quickly to get the train back on the tracks without adding stress or complication. I will absolutely be buying more suits from Suitsupply because of Joe, it helps that the suits look and feel great too!
Wow!! What an amazing experience.. The staff here is super friendly. They take care of you like a brother. I worked with Jo, he was with me from beginning to end. They have a full selection of beautiful suits with great fabrics... I never had such a great experience finding a suit. It was just a breeze I can’t even explain how good it wasIf you are looking for a high quality suit at amazing prices GO HERE!! You won’t regret..Definitely RECOMMENDED !!!!!
Exceptional Customer Service by Ryan.I was in a pinch as I needed a suit for a day time wedding in NY. I called Ryan the day before I flew in to NY and he offered some great advise and was willing to make it work. I had three hours before the wedding. An hour before the store even opened, he was there to meet me personally and get the suit, shirt, tie all arranged and rush the alterations with my pants to make sure I had everything I needed. I cannot say enough about how helpful Ryan was and who went way out of his way to help me.Thank you Ryan!!!
I have shopped at many haberdashers worldwide throughout my career. I have been purchasing suits for many years for business and events. Suitsupply exceeded my expectations. My experience at Suitsupply on Madison Avenue was a five star world class experience. Andrew Silver was on point with all the measurements and delivered a quality product with a great retail experience. I highly recommend Andrew and Suitsupply on Madison Ave NYC.
My husband and I visit the store as we were looking suits for our wedding. We were attended by Ryan, and from there everything went perfect, he was exceptionally helpful and proactive. We loved the suits, the desgins, the fabrics, the tailoring, everything was awesome.
I was very fortunate to be paired with Vyanca. I came mid afternoon to my appointment. The store was clearly very busy and all associates were with a customer. She took her time and walked me through fitting the suit that I purchased online. I loved the experience so much that I decided to buy two additional suits right then and there, along with shirts and pocket squares. I look forward to returning and working with Vyanca in the future.
Let me start by saying the two best customer service reps I’ve ever worked with, work at Suitsupply on Madison. Ryan and Vyanca were beyond. They nailed my vision with all my suits and pants and were super helpful in providing feedback. They made sure that I was certain and OK with the tailoring that was being done and I appreciated that most. Additionally, they made me feel welcomed by offering water or coffee and were with me until I left the store. Most pleasant experience I’ve had.
I had my reservations about buying a suit from suitsupply, from reviews about horrible customer service to having a bad experience at indochino (which btw I wouldnt recommend unless youre on a budget). But I just told myself to go and try it out, and I was not disappointed at all. The custom made specialist who took care of me was Andrew. Andrew was exceptional and highly knowledgeable. I was with my fiancé and her parents and he never made us feel rushed. He explained the entire process in detail, and made sure that we were comfortable with every decision that was being made. Should I ever need a custom made suit again, I would definitely send him an email to book an appointment. To everyone who is like me and is reading the bad reviews... Save yourself the time, go to this location and ask for Andrew. You wont regret it.
I never write reviews but I’m making an exception and borrowing my wife’s account. For my wedding, I got a three-piece made-to-measure suit and shirt and they are fantastic. But the reason it came out so well and that my experience with the brand was so good is entirely thanks to the Custom Made Specialist I worked with, Matthew Plotner. Matt listened and worked hard to figure out what I wanted, while at the same time providing wonderful guidance and brilliant fashion tips. My wife and I are both the nervous sort but Matt genuinely put us at ease and made us feel we were in good hands – which we were. Matt went above and beyond in every way possible and was instrumental in making my wedding day a success.
Had such a positive experience at this location recently. Krenar was super helpful and recommended some really nice looks. He has a high level of knowledge on how clothes should fit and what to pair with what. The store manager was so friendly and went out of her way to make sure my clothes were perfect. After I tried on the clothes post tailoring she steamed them again to make sure they were nice and crisp before packing them up in the garment bag.Ive been a suitsupply customer for almost a decade now (used to go to the soho location before the others opened) and my experience gets better each time. Highly recommend.
I have been a SuitSupply customer for many years. However, my recent experience was truly best-in-class and deserves to be recognized. Krenar & Aaron from the Madison Avenue store were amazing to work with. Up against an accelerated timeline, they exceeded my expectations and were able to finalize my suit and all necessary alterations in time for my wedding. They were truly a pleasure to deal with and I look forward to shopping and utilizing their help, in the future.
I was at this store 1 week ago. Staff know nothing about customer engagement and interaction. Please get more seasoned, respectful, and amiable staff. These young kidsthe staff are lacking, they just wear nice suits from tou guys. My wife and I stood around waiting to be noticed and engaged by staff. All either acted oblivious, indifferent, or walked off and perched doing nothing while their client tried on clothes for 10 mins. A simple hello, welcome we will be right with you would have gone a long way. Instead i had to school one of the goofy managers/cordinators after waiting 15 mins who was faffing doing nothing with his colleague. He gave an excuse that everyone is with a client, im just a manager or coordinator or whatever he called himself thats why no one welcomed us or engaged with the customer. Your staff is need of training, please see to the incompetence. 1 bad review can affect your business because of the tackiness and incompetence of your staff
My husband and I feel very bad for the treatment received yesterday in this store. We were very excited to buy from her, however, we spent more than an hour waiting for someone to attend us to buy some suits and no one helped us, we approached by 3rd. I saw a young man who spoke Spanish and thats when he told us that we should be on a list for someone on the staff to come up to us. He himself helped us and they assigned us number 6. After another 20 minutes of waiting, someone approached us to help us and despite knowing a little English, we asked him to please assign us a person who would assist us in Spanish so that we could make a better choice .... but no one ever came and two hours after arriving we left unattended. We left with the feeling that there were employees who knew Spanish and pretended not to understand us. It was a very sad feeling because we felt rejected. Sometimes we judge people by the hanger and we get it wrong. It is unfortunate that things like this happen in this century and in a country to which Latinos have contributed so much.😔😔
Ive been shopping with Suitsupply ever since GQ announced the company was opening up a shop in Soho. One associate in particular, Joe ODonnell, has always gone above and beyond in my 5+ years of shopping with him. His attention to detail, patience, and expert service is the main reason I keep coming back. Suitsupply of course has excellent quality for the price we are paying but when you have someone like Joe taking care of you and making sure you look sharp, what more can you ask for?
When you come to the Suitsupply Madison Ave location ask for VYANCA!! She’ll give you the best experience you ever had at Suitsupply, especially if you’re a first timer!! Vyanca makes me want to come back over and over again!! She is always keeping me updated on the latest inventory and always notifies me of something that I’ll like. Her knowledge of fashion and skills of tailoring will make you always look amazing stress free!!
I just wanted to express my sincere gratitude for the service I received from Paul and Julie.Paul helped me make my selections, spent well over 90 minutes with me as I tried on numerous suits, and helped tailor the jackets and pants precisely to my preferred fit. When there was a bit of a miscommunication with the national Suit Supply customer service team regarding the completion of alterations, Julie was quick to call, offer an apology, and offer potential solutions to the problem. My garments were fast-tracked so that I could wear them this week, which I absolutely did not expect but was thrilled by. When I arrived to pick them up, Julie was patient with me as I tried on each garment, as well as two garments I had bought from a different Suit Supply location a month earlier, offering a well trained eye to confirm that each piece fit properly.Thank you both, I will be certain to return to this location for my next suit.
This is the place I went to buy my first suit. On that visit, I was blown away. The service was impeccable. I needed the suit on the same day, and the salesperson was terrific. I knew that I was proposing a difficult task but in the end, I found the perfect match and the Suitsupply brand lived up to its name. However, that was just the first visit. On subsequent visits, I was less satisfied with the outcomes. While the salespeople are generally pleasant, there are times when they’re less attentive and not as polite with the inexperienced suit seakers. Another disappointing visit was due to lack of knowledge. Salespeople are quick to point out that there isn’t a secondary charge if you’ve already paid for an alteration once, but they fail to inform you that suits must be dry cleaned before being brought back for alterations (which of course makes perfect sense) but I wish they would’ve mentioned that and I could’ve avoided a pointless trip and 2 hours in midtown traffic. And lastly, the most disappointing visit of all was just a few days ago. After waiting for almost 3 weeks for those dry cleaned trousers to be altered, I arrived at the store to find out that the alterations had not been done to all the trousers. Two of them were done, and one wasn’t. Oh wait, did I mention that I had already brought those two trousers once before for alterations and they weren’t done that time? And that’s why I had asked to have all 3 done this time. And then one trouser wasn’t done again? After almost three weeks no less. Suffice it to say, I am ready for greener pastures. I’ve purchased three suits, visited the store on 5 occasions. I now wish I had only gone that first time.
I had the best time at SuitSupply. I went back in August and as soon as someone heard I was shopping for my wedding, he didnt waste time trying to sell me a suit and politely told me to come back when the fall/winter collection came in. I did come back and the service was amazing. I was there maybe 30-40 minutes and walked out with my wedding suit. I feel great and Id come back there any time.
Have to say that had a unique experience at this store. Long story short, I liked a suit but they didn’t have in store and when they ordered it, it was delivered to the wrong store a few days after. I called in and because I needed it within 2 days, Brian had it delivered to my home within 24 hours.5 stars for going the extra mile. Thank you.
Walked in to purchase 2 suits...The worst experience I’ve ever had shopping in general- they didn’t have my suit size that I chose and made me come the next day after my size was being brung from jersey warehouse.Came the next day after paying for 2 suits in order to get my size a day before—-one of the suit jackets had a hole! That was not even the problem. After trying it on the salesman had me waiting for 10 minutes with the suit on as he was assisting other customers ( guess he made the sale a day prior and thought he didn’t need to assist any longer?). So I asked for manager and returned both on the spot.Maybe I didn’t look wealthy to be treated correct??I could go on...-worst customer service-never (ever) going backPros— thanks for the refund.PS- I never leave reviews on anything. But I had to share.
Suits was good, but the staff could definitely use some training in the customer service / warmth department. I dont think Ive had to work so hard to get service staff to pay attention or get what I need. That said: They knew their stuff, and the product is very solid. Alterations were done over the weekend. Everything fit very well post-alteration. Great value for the quality delivered; it beat out my J.Crew and Indochino ensemble solidly
Suits are good. Their staff is not fit to take measurements. For the price you’re paying for alterations there, you’d think their tailor would know what he was doing. They will tell you that your order will be rushed just to get your business but do not count on them to deliver on the day promised.
This store is UNBELIEVABLE! We were helped by Christina. She is so knowledgeable about everything suits, and just made the whole experience so enjoyable. We were in and out in 50 min with 2 suits that fitted and everything. The suits feel amazing. I’m excited to come back
If you’re tired of getting those department store suits, and want something that looks a lot cleaner and form fitting but still off the rack, check out suitsupply. They also have in house tailoring to get the suits to fit you even better. A great place to get a quality suit, with great service!
I’ve been with Suitsupply since they opened in NYC. It’s been fun going to their different stores in Seattle, Montreal, DC, etc. I’ve shopped with Suitsupply for more than a decade. I’ve always felt the quality of customer service was top notch until I came to this store. Sundar has got to be the most condescending salesperson I’ve ever met. He treated me as if I was wasting his time, corrected me on my choice for tuxedo shirt, and made me feel uncomfortable during the whole encounter. After complimenting him on his Suitsupply ghurka pants and inquired about them, he said I caught on way late in the season and my size is all sold out. The words themselves are fine, but all this was said with tone dripping with a “there’s nothing I can do for you vibe.” You can’t judge your opinion on a brand due to one bad encounter...Suitsupply has been wonderful to me...but stay away from this salesman.
I came here on a whim, dressed sloppy and not expecting much service. An associate named Jasmine quickly came to me and asked me what I was looking for. While I was in the market to buy one, I didnt think Id go in there to drop the money on a new suit so quickly. But Jasmine gave me such good customer service, care and attention that I ended up loving a particular suit and purchasing it. The tailoring was a bit off, and she was quick to get it corrected for me. Best suit purchase experience Ive had, hands down period.
I have been a customer of suitsupply for many years albeit in Europe. I have used the Madison Ave. Store for the first time on a recent trip to NY and the service levels are appauling. I purchased 3 garments all of which had to be altered (20-Dec-19) and to collect them at the end of that day. On fitting them on after alteration the next day, they were all incorrectly done and had to be re-altered which meant another trip to the store (23-Dec-19). I requested these second alterations to be done quickly as I had to leave for a flight. I was told they would be done and to return in an hour. I actually left it for almost 2 hours before returning to find that the alterations had not even been started. I was then asked to return at the end of the day, to which I had to re-iterate that I was going for a flight and could not wait any further. The level of service in the US store is terrible as compared to the service received in Europe. If you are used to the excellent service of Suitsupply stores in Europe, I would advise not shopping in the Madison Ave Store. Terrible service and no one seemed to care at all about the level of inconvenience or additional cost they put me in, but rather had a condecending attitude. My advice is to Avoid!!!P.S. (2-Jan-20) I am still awaiting to hear directly from the customer service team in connection to the above review, despite the written response below advising me that this would be done shortly....maybe start with that Management....... again APPAULING SERVICE AND CUSTOMER TREATMENT
Reasonable prices for suits, but the store has poorly lit fitting rooms and is not actually a great place to shop. There’s no seating for spouses or if you need to wait around for quick alterations. The store is very much designed for style over substance. You have to try very hard to flag down staff even though there are so many of them, and good luck getting them to follow up once you’re dressed so that you can get alterations. I’ve had significantly better experiences with Indochino and would recommend checking them out instead.
When I first walked into suit supply the employees were dressed so perfect that they looked like someone cut them out of a fashion magazine. Every employee had a perfectly well fitting suit and each had their own style. The ambiance is very welcoming and modern. My sales associate Micheal Wong was extremely nice to deal with. He helped me to find exactly what I was looking for and throught out the whole process he guided me with great advice. Upon trying the first jacket he gave me I was hooked. I had never tried on a jacket that fits like it was made for me. The attention to detail and quality blew me away for the price and I couldnt be happier. I am going to pick the suit up tomorrow from the tailor and I cant wait to wear it to work Saturday. Thanks suitsupply you guys rock and Mike thanks for all the help!
UPDATE: The regional manager reached out to me personally and was very professional. She offered me a refund for the alterations due to the miscommunication from the sales reps. While the selection of suits is great, I think Suitsupply needs to provide better training to their sales reps in regards to customer services.Terrible customer service. On Thursday 9/7, I bought a suit from your Madison Ave location in NYC. The sales rep said the suit would be ready by EOD the next day. Around COB Friday 9/8, I asked if my suit was ready and the sales rep said it wasnt but would be ready by Monday 9/11. Today is Tuesday 9/12 and the suit is still not ready. I called the store, and some snooty sales rep with an attitude answered and begrudgingly checked on when I could expect the alterations to be done. She said it would be done tomorrow, Wednesday 9/13. I tried to explain to her what happened and that I need the suit by Thursday 9/14, but she hung up on me. I couldve had it altered somewhere else by now.
Was recommended to try Suit Supply on Madison Ave by a friend when looking for a winter coat. Found the one but unfortunately not in my size. In steps Veronica (R-R) who went above and beyond to help. She even looked to see if was available in London noir when I returned home. She eventually found one in their storage in Jersey and organised for it to rushed over to her store. Exemplary service from a very personable young lady. What a credit to your company she is. Lovely natured and didn’t force any sale on me. Not a fan of a pushy salesperson and that is why I returned the next day to make the purchase.I know where I’ll be coming when I next buy a coat or get my suits made up.Thank you
The gentleman helping me was really nice, however there is definitely a vibe in this location that makes you uncomfortable, especially if you often dont buy suits. Patronizing is the word.Nonetheless, they will help you fit into a nice suit and their tailor works at an incredible speed. If I could rate his quality work separately, Id give him five stars.
The level of professionalism and courtesy here is unmatched! I walked in one day in suit attire after work and the next day super casual because I was on vacation and I was treated like a top-notch client. If your lucky you will get paired with Indre! Shes so professional, you couldnt be in better hands!
I’ve been a suit supply client for 5+ years now. I’ve religiously gone to the soho location. I needed to get a few things tailored and work in midtown, so I figured the quality of service would remain consistent. I was wrong. The staff was a little rude and snobbish. The individual that fit me, Eric, made me feel very uncomfortable. Stand offish, uninterestested, judgemental, etc. also, he was more interested in helping someone else who was clearly buying a few pieces. He didn’t introduce his name until he asked for my credit card... It’s a little sad to see the quality of suit supply’s customer service take a turn for the worst. Not to mention, I’m extremely upset with how my pants came out after they were tailored. I love my suit supply suits cause EVERYBODY would ask where I got my pants tailored. I used to take pride in them, however, after paying for all the required alterations, I ended up with bell bottoms... the taper is non existent along with the baggy hem. Extremely disappointed. I’ll stick to the soho location.
I agree with Peter below and the many others who have had poor customer service at the Madison Ave location. The sales staff are disinterested being more interested in chatting with each other than helping clients. I will not shop there again. They try to be young and hip but miss the mark completely. The quality was just a drab ok at best. AVOID!!!
I give Joe 5 stars. I spent about $2k this week and your staff wouldnt open the door for me to pick up my alterations today. You called me with 30 minutes to get to the store. I did. You didnt let me in with staff looking at me. You were closed. Will not buy from you again.
Went to this location to buy a shirt, they didnt have any in stock, so they had to deliver them to my apartment. One didnt fit correctly. I called this location to try and order a different size, and whoever answered the phone couldnt understand the issue; they kept asking if I never received the shirt, then put me on hold for 5 minutes before I finally hung up. I tried calling the store back, and they didnt answer. I tried a few more times over the next 10 minutes, but no-one at the store answered. Ended up calling a different location. Not the service I usually get from Suitsupply, very disappointed.*Edit: Updated the star rating based on the response from their customer service team. I would still recommend using a different location, but Suitsupply overall is a company I have bought 6 suits from, and they fit well/are a good deal for the price.
+Great Looking Suits-Do not have enough people to properly fit a suit on someone-Store attention to detail and quality have seemed to diminish since my 2012 purchaseI purchased my first suit 2 years ago on Broome. I went the custom route. It was and continues to be great. Omar measured me up. In need of a sport coat I thought Suitsupply was my best bet. A mistake thus far.Either the coat I have is not the right cut for me or the alterations have been done poorly. Either way, the reason I choose to shop at Suitsupply was to avoid those very two things. I appreciate the compliments on my athletic build, but if a coat does not fit as it should I should not be told Simply bringing it in will do the trick. It does not matter how nice a jacket is if it doesnt fit properly. The reason I spend $450 on an off the rack jacket from Suitsupply is to achieve a desirable look. If I wanted a jacket sold to me by someone that would not make sure it was the proper fit Id go to a run of the mill department store. If an alteration needs to be done, it should be done by someone that knows how to properly mark the jacket for the seamstress. I had someone (no names) tell me my jacket could not be changed any more as they showed me the location of the alteration only to have the seamstress share that he was looking at the side seam of the jacket, not where the alterations were made.To add insult to injury the same day I dropped my jacket off most recently I received an email stating that it was done. Suspicious I called to confirm. I was asked if I could be called back with an update. No call back.Last time I purchased a suit at Suitsupply. I praised their work and within the month brought in 4 friends/fam. Each of which had a custom suit made for them.To date this has been a very different and undesirable experience.
I went to the store last friday. I had seen the google reviews before, so there was some obvious concern. But: I was proven otherwise. The staff was more than just friendly and forthcoming! They have a new store manager, and it seems that she is doing a fine job and fixing the problems.
If I could I would give them a ZERO I purchased a suit from the madison ave store in NYC on July 5th 2018. I was informed the suit would be ready from 3 to 5 business days, so I gave them 6. When I went to pick up the suit, they had brought it up and hung the suit in the fitting room. As I tried it on. I could see the pins still in from the alteration also the pants were the same never touched. A waste of my time I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THAT STORE STAY AWAY!!!
I have been a long time shopper & fan of Suitsupply but this month after thousands of dollars in clothes I started to lose faith in their customer service..Then when all hope was lost there swooped in the Gotham SUPERhero manager to save the day. Without having any prior knowledge Dawn truly went beyond anything I could have imagined to remedy the circumstances while putting me the customer first!!Thank you Dawn & the entire Madison AVE NYC location!!!!Suitsupply loyalist for life!!!! I’m
This is my go-to place for my suits, and all of them that I currently wear are from here. Normally, the service is fantastic too, youre paired with someone who knows what theyre doing and what theyre talking about. Every now and then, though, theres someone who is impatient or insists on something that you simply dont want.
Bad costumer service, they told me that my alteration will be ready in the same day, I got an email that is ready to collect, I came the next day all the way from Brooklyn and they told me that is not ready yet and I need to wait about 20 to 30 minutes, Im trying to call them to make sure that is ready and nobody is answering the phone.....
I’m uses to buy at Suitsupply (SFO and Vegas) The nyc madison SS is different. BY FAR The WORST.service and taylor of suitsupply ever. After spending almost $2k in clothes that I usualy ask for adjustments, it was poorly adjusted. TERRIBLE. I simply can’t understand how they could do that. NEVER MORE. Don’t waste my money on SS nyc anymore.
Horrible experience. Consider 3 month lead time when you buy something from this place. Takes about 2 months and 20 calls to get what you have actually ordered. When they do arrive some are missing so it takes another 20 calls and weeks to get everything. Okay suits for what you pay.
Landed in NYC for business meetings and a gala dinner. My luggages were lost and I was in gym outfit.Adrian took care of me on a Sunday afternoon. In 2 Hours i left suitsupply in Madison Avenue with everything I needed. He definitely sorted all my issues.Should you visit suitsupply in Madison ave, Adrian is the man.
Walked in to the store and let the front desk know we where shopping for my friends wedding , he told us to head upstairs- no salespeople greeted us, we asked for help after waiting in the center of the showroom about 10 mins , understanding it was a busy time - the sales associate told us that he was busy with 2 clients and would try to find someone to help us - we waited another 10 mins , tried on some showroom samples and finally left after continuing to be ignored - we had planned to purchase suits for an entire wedding party but after being completely ignored we left the store.
Very poor experience, seriously understaffed, the staffs attitude is horrendous (telling clients that they are understaffed which you dont want to hear when buying a $600 suit) tried on a suit and waited a good 15 minutes before the guy came back and was just stuck waiting there

2022-07-27My first appointment was with Dexter, where we selected a suit for an upcoming wedding. Dexter was great, very polite and had plenty of options to show me. The whole process was super quick, but I came in with no expectations. The alterations were ready 3 days later, as advertised. Turnaround was the major factor for me in getting a tailored suit, because I procrastinated way too long. I met with Jeremy for the final fitting. It was pretty packed, but I was a walk-in so the wait was expected. Even then, Jeremy got me in and out of there quickly after we reviewed the alterations.I would definitely shop for a new suit with Dexter or Jeremy in the future!

2022-02-28Very helpful and friendly staff. Bought my suit online and brought it in for tailoring. Louis helped me out and explained everything as he went. Results were great and quick. Came back to try it on and get a belt -- all different staff from the day before were equally as helpful

2022-06-12Spacious store, location in a central area with a lot of options. We went in to get fitted for a wedding. The sales person gave a textured suit for us to try on, which was good. When we wanted to try on different styles, for example a suit with more shine/different style, he asked us “why do you care.” When we followed up with our reasoning to try a more expansive set of suits before finalizing our decision, he said “it doesn’t matter.” He had no regard for our preferences in style. We felt that this was a suboptimal experience and left with a bad taste.

2022-04-04I bought a suit last June here and now I needed a tux. After the amazing experience I had with Trent then, I knew there was only one place I would go. Unfortunately Trent returned to Europe, as he discussed last year he might be doing. My appointment this time was with Vyanca and I was not let down one bit. Her professionalism and knowledge are quite admirable. She was a joy to work with and had me looking good and made sure I was feeling comfortable with my choices each step of the way. % stars for sure, more if I could. I have, and will always, recommend Suit Supply.

2022-03-02Fantastic staff. I was in a rush and they handled the whole process smoothly, every detail was took in consideration despite the urgent situation. The multiple sales reps and hosts had always a great attitude, smiling and finding windows for the alterations so I could get my suit on time.

2022-06-30Absolutely phenomenal in store experience from entry to fitting room. I always assess a business by how they greet their customers, the reps at the front door hit the nail on the head! Our consultant Jay is a true scientist at his craft. I mean, this guy was taking off -5 centimeters and adding 1.2 to areas of the suit I would have normally overlooked. To be clear....this can now be the only place I go to for suits. My hats off to the entire team at the Madison avenue location!Incredible work!

2022-05-15I’m not really sure the customer service here is up to par. I ordered a suit online and came into the store to get the pants altered by appointment. The woman wouldn’t let me alter my pants because they weren’t dry cleaned first and I didn’t have proof they were clean or something??? I was beyond confused. I took it out of the bag and brought it there on a hanger. I think maybe she thought I looked poor cause I had a sweatshirt on and jeans. She gave me this really weird look as if I was. Joke is really on her, wish I got her name. I really have no idea. Beyond weird. Never experienced this before in my life. Stay as far away from this place as possible.

2022-02-24I was planning on ordering a coat online so I wanted to get sized. I got the sense that if I wasn’t buying there that I wasn’t exactly welcome. The staff was fairly standoffish and the guy who helped me left me with more questions about the process of custom sizing than when I came in. He was very short and quick with everything and didn’t fully answer my questions. I also attempted to try on a jacket and sweater combo, and some lady didn’t seem to believe that I had already been helped because rather than actually helping me find the jacket he just pointed me in the direction and said you can’t miss it.Just to be clear my goal was to custom order a camel coat, but I doubt I’ll do it now.My advise would be wait until you’re actually ready to purchase since they likely work off of commission. However, it’s bad for business to turn off customers. I also need to find a place to outfit 7 groomsmen in 3 months so they are out now.

2022-03-28Had by far my worst shopping experience, courtesy of one specific sales person. I made appt online to get help picking out suit for my wedding in 5 weeks. I dont know about other sales people, but DO NOT book with this guy Paul. I came with 2 friends, and Paul was extremely standoffish from the get go and acted like we were wasting time. I told him I do not wear suit very often, so need his help and guidance, but he never gave any good recommendations, simply told me everyone likes something different. He would stand there while I try on suits but just stare at me. Offered no guidance through the process, and made us feel extremely unwelcome. I was ready to buy but no way we would give the place our business after our encounter with Paul. To be fair, one of the other salesperson seemed nice and asked if we need any additional help at the end, but by then we were sick of the place and needed to get out.

2022-03-29I had an unpleasant experience with Eryn today.I was turned away at the door because I didn’t have an appointment. I have visited before and an appointment was never required.Long before my visit I was sure to visit the site to ensure I had both pictures and reference to what I sought to purchase. I was in search for a Tuxedo, Shirt, Bow Tie and Slip-ons; an estimated sale of approx. 1k+With an extensive work history in luxury retail myself, I know for certain this is not how you treat your potential prospects. I feel though as if i was discriminated because i am a male hispanic who didn’t fit their regular target audience. With high expectations, i left empty handed gladly knowing that it’s competitors will welcome me doors wide open blocks away.Thank you Suitsupply!
