This dentist is the best dentist in my opinion. Shes thorough and knows what shes doing. She helped me when I had an emergency and is the dentist I trust.

Update: after less than 4 month 6 of the fillings she did fell out !2 of them fell out the second time after she fixed it! She should not practice dentistry! Impatient, unprofessional, rude and did a horrible job on my teeth, had to go back after 3 fillings she did fell out, until today 2 fillings are bothering me because she did not finish them right, refused to fix it, didn’t even want to listen to my complaints… she rushed through the work… avoid if you can! .

I have had her since I’ve been a child she has always been there for an emergency or regular check ups I have never had a problem with her she opens at 10 AM which is a convenient time and she tries to make scheduling around you she has never been late for me very professional

Had a terrible experience here once. I went in for a checkup and was told I had cavities. I went back at a later date to have the cavities filled. After numbing me she left to go work on someone else for quite some time. When she finally started working on my cavity it was taking a long time to finish drilling and filling. I told her that the numbness was starting to wear off and that I was feeling some pain. Instead of numbing me more she just said she was almost done and continued drilling. After she was finally done, I left and never went back.

I went to this office for the first time a month ago for a check up to find out i have 10 cavaties and so they scheduled me to come back yesterday to have them filled. I went to my visit and I will not be returning. Upon checking in, the receptionist had insisted I had canceled my appointment and had to rewrite me in after I told her I hadnt. I take care of my teeth, but during the time of my pregnancy I had terrible morning sickness which caused me to have 10 cavaties due to the severe acid arousion as I was told by another dentist this morning. Dr. Desilva had accused me both times of drinking soda and eating candy after I had told her 10 times in total that I did not and i actually hold a very healthy diet. In addition, she decided to numb me then went out to do some other work for about 25 mins leaving the numbness to decrese. When she returned, she started my fillings and told me I would be getting 5 of my fillings and I would have to make another appointment. She started drilling and the pain was insane. Luckily, the hygeinist stopped her and proceeded to do so after the dentist decided to deposit a few more drop onto my tooth and not give it time to numb. If it wasnt for the hygeinist demanding to give me a break, it would have been even worse. In the end, after over an hour and a half, the dentist finally gave up and finished the other four teeth. While rinsing them with water, i flinched due to the toothache she had given me and also the intense headache, in which she commented im not even touching you!....i scheduled another appointment on my way out and the receptionist couldnt get me in for another month and that was when she decided to schedule me 2 appointments which should have been done in the first place.I felt rushed and as if I was being accused of lying about my pain level. This is an unacceptable way to run a bussiness. I was happy to call another office and the scheduled me for a check up this morning and I have an appointment next week to have the rest of my fillings.

Extremely unprofessional. My appointment was for 10am. I arrived 20 mins early to fill out paperwork and there was 1 other person waiting. At 10:15 neither of us had been called. At 10:20 the dentist walked in the door. Mind you their office opens at 9:30am, so she was 50 minutes late. Finally at 10:30 I still had not been called so I went up and told them to cancel my appt. No apology for being late, and the receptionist never said anything about her running late upon check in. Horrible, and after reading the other reviews on here, I am glad I left before they touched my mouth. It is so dark and dingy and overall very dirty looking in there as well. Avoid this place at all costs.

This Dentist is extremely short tempered, confused, and just plain rude. The office is in a house, and is rather disorganized. All of the equipment you can tell was once white is now old, outdated, discolored, faded, and now yellowish and unclean looking.The Dentist ( Dr. Desilva ) seems as if she should have retired over a decade ago. I have nothing against having an older or elderly Dentist. However Dr. Sujatha H Desilva comes off as if she is in the early or mid stages of dementia.Dr. Desilva is very hard to understand, and even worse she has difficulties understanding her patients, replying on her secretary to translate for her. I was willing to look past these unsettling details, but the complete and utter disdain and rudeness was just to much. There is absolutely a reason she has such a low rating.I highly DO NOT recommend this Dentist. There are many competent Dentists in Port Jervis and surrounding areas. Find one and skip this one..And to you, Dr. Desilva....RETIRE! And perhaps try to be a tad less short tempered and just flat out mean.If anyone reads this and still goes to this Dentist, after your experience, dont say you werent warned.LESS THAN ONE STAR!
