My GoTo spot when working or attending Kavita center shows. They have a 5vstar buffet and also have everything from sushi to wraps made to order and also have pre-made sandwiches, salads, sushi and more. All the best drinks including Health-Ade kombucha and other quality brands.Handicapt accessibleHas tables to sit and eat
I live in the silver towers, for us resident is convenient to go downstairs to grab anything till 10 pm, but they always lock their doors at 9:30, I was trying to talk to the guy and he was rude saying they was closed, this is a horrible business practice, it happens all the time, they close their doors at 9:30 and they advertise as open till 10 pm, anyways there’s plenty markets open like food emporium with more variety and better prices that close at 11, I’ll never get anything here ever, update your closing time to 9:30
The vegan options provided in the store are amazing! However, when I went to inquire about which dishes were vegan in the hot bar section, I was directed to two different employees who couldn’t give me a straight answer. I think that this could be easily resolved if the management were to just instruct that markings be made to indicate which dishes are vegetarian and which are vegan. Thank you.
Great place to grab a bite of whatever, from sandwhiches and soups to fried rice with delicious meats. I had a spicy tuna roll, very tasty. This is close to the Javitis Convention Center, and makes it very convenient. This place is always packed, but the line moves quickly. If ever by the Javitis, give it a try, and always my 2 Cents.
Fantastic market! Great prices on grilled items, pre packaged sushi and sandwiches. The salad bar looks great, but its a but its $11/pound. They have a great selection of groceries with many organic products. Their grocery prices seem tad higher than others, but the place is nice, clean and well stocked.
Everytime I go to order a hot sandwhich, the dude tells me they are closed even though they are clearly open. I go and the person behind me orders and they make him the requested item. Has happend to me like ten times in this place. Why, who knows, but if you ever visit nyc there are much better stores than this where they cater to ALL customers. The grocery store is ok, the hot bar is good, but expensive af. The deli and the other counters though, not worth your time. Boggles the mind. Id give it a 0 star if I could, never coming back on my next visit to NYC.
The food is great. I gave them a 3 star instead of a 5 because the staff is the worse. From the counter cooks to the cashiers, they are all very rude. The counter cooks give you what they want and not what you ask for and the prices are NEVER consistent. These line cooks just make up the prices as they go, I got the same breakfast sandwich 3 days in a row and all three days a different price. The food is great a freshly made but the service needs to improve.
Very Impressed with the store so far. Just moved into the area and they seem to have it all. It has a grill and all of the normal grab and go things you would expect but also had a nice sized grocery area. I used their delivery service for the first time and it was like they were at my doorstep as I clicked submit. Nice job!
PROCEED WITH CAUTION: Its an unfortunate reality, but this establishment has the least friendly staff imaginable. Ive lived in the neighborhood for 20 years, and Ive decidely walked a few extra blocks just to avoid the unpleasant staff/cashiers. Note: I live very close to this specific location. Im not sure if theyre under pain, or poorly trained, or just plain grumpy, but theres a general rudeness which seems systemic. My advice: take a stroll in the neighborhood. There are tons of food markets around. Much cheaper, actually. And surely, friendlier. Why not enjoy your day, right?!
This place is great! It has everything. Buffet style hot/cold food, grill, deli, salad and a coffee station. On top of that theres a grocery store side. Go early for lunch because the lines can get long, but dont worry it goes fast. They operate very well. All the food Ive tried is delicious and fresh. The prices are reasonable for the area.
Came here for a quick snack and ended up making a full meal of it for the both of us. The buffet is surprisingly fresh and with many choices to accommodate any palette. The fresh and hot chefs are quick and friendly and serve up and real tasty order - and with very generous proportions! I will definitely come here again if Im in the side of town - maybe even if Im not!!
Great spot to go for lunch if youre at the convention center all day and dont want to eat the overpriced airport food they sell at the Javits Center. The Turkey sub was fantastic and could be split for two if I hadnt enjoyed it so much. They also have a mix of hot & cold buffet food and soups. Fair prices and seating area round out the visit.
Great find. Was on the way to the pier, and this was a perfect stop. Got the hot pastrami sandwich and girlfriend got a chicken sandwich, both with cheese, and not only were they delicious, they were loaded and so hot, they were hard to hold while waiting on line to pay. To top it off, got a bag of chips and a package of cookies and it came to under $20. For Manhattan, thats nothing short of amazing for the quality we got. Best deli/market on the West side.
I was a loyal customer up until now because the food is good but the customer service leaves alot to be desired. Half off promotion after 9 is a great idea but can be executed better. All promotion signs should specify food is to be ORDERED after 9 not simply purchased! I ordered my food at 9:00 on the dot and thus it was labeled at full price & the manager refused to relabel when I acknowledged the mistake and when I said I wouldnt pay full price they put it back on display to be sold to someone else for half price! Communication needs to be better.
While at the Javits center I had a few hours to wait until my next endeavor and noticed people were not eating at the food court on site. I decided to ask around, and boy was I so happy I did. I grew up with NYC lunch buffets and missed them dearly and low and behold Sunac Natural Market had everything and more that Ive missed about the NYC lunch hour experience. Its not just the beautiful buffet but the sushi and sandwiches are perfect and at a great price. Just wanted to know if they had seating? Thanks a bunch! If Im in the area again, Sunac will be my go to place.
Fast and quick to go place. We had to catch the bolt bus down the street and wanted to grab some food for the ride so we stopped by this neat place. I got the hot bar which was not bad at all. It was cheaper compared to places like Wegmans and whole foods. They had a huge selections of items too.
The managers at night are simply the worst employee . Everytime I have an issue, it is with the night crew and the managers yell at me rather than fix the problem. They act like they do not understand me and tell me to come back in the morning. Terrible customer service! Tonight I ordered a salad. The guy put less chicken in then normal. I asked him to give me the normal amount and he charged me extra. It was only a dollar, but it is the principle that is the issue. I hope they do something to better their evening crew. I am a frequent customer and would love a better experience.
Sunac can really serve as your main quick stop grocery store on West side in the low 40s at 42/11.Well known for its expensive and tasty hot / cold bar options, deli sandwiches and more, process in regular grocery and fruit / veg are comparable to Food Emporium, but with less effort. Strong focus on Asian products, most of your Korean and Japanese favorites are in stock.Very friendly staff, some tables near the front if you cant wait until you get home to tuck in.
This place is fantastic!! Sunac quickly became a daily stop for my co workers and I while there for a trade show. We loved the coffee bar and all the fresh items available. The breakfast sandwiches were a big hit along with the fresh fruit. I wish there were more places like this back home in Houston!!
The fresh food bar has lots of options every day till late hours. The sandwich and panini bar is one of the best. Quesadillas are to die for.Expensive if you are going here for every day groceries, but they have pretty much everything you need to live. The staff are usually rude and could care less that you are there, as if you are bothering them by being there. There is one nice staff. The rest need customer service training.
Great general store that serves the Hells Kitchen area. They have anything you might need in a pinch, including fresh produce, but they arent a fully fledged grocery store. They have a lot of take out food, including a daily buffet that always has healthy and savory options. Just be sure to get it when its fresh, around 11AM.
Great place to stop in if you need to get lunch on the go. Salad bar with not just salad but every type of offering that can be eaten raw or cooked. Have a coffee, smoothie and juice bar. And regular grocery store in back. Groceries obviously are pricey but if you are only in their to grab a couple items they will most likely have what you’re looking for
Wished there was a lower rating. They refused to give me one of their pre made sandwiches on the basis they dont serve until 4am. Mind you it was 3:45am and there were at least 20 sandwiches sitting, already made, in the window(and it’s “open 24hrs). Dont go here. I live across the street and will gladly walk an extra 15 minutes to avoid it. Absolutely terrible customer service.
I have never been disappointed with Sunac. There are so many options when you come here that you can hardly decide. The buffet options are always good, but try not to pack it all on as your food is weighed by the pound and it can get expensive. They have a deli section, sushi, grill, salad bar, soups, dessert and a market in the back. I recommend the spicy chicken quesadilla. You get a huge and delicious portion for under $8. Sunac is my go to spot when Im in the area!
11/8/14:This is my second time coming here after discovering this fantastic and versatile place. I ordered a shrimp wrap and it was surprisingly better than I expected. The unexpectedness came in the spicy flavor and the ample but overwhelming amount of shrimp included. It was delicious and I will look to make this my to-go place whenever I am in the area.
Pretty sure they would be great if not for the cashier I saw deal with a young black woman. The customer asked to use a pen which most cashiers have and she rudely said no you can buy one. The woman stated she is spending close to 100 there and and the cashier mocked her. Like maybe you guys will never go out of business but at least act like the customer is first.
Had to stop by here on my way home from work for some groceries to be pleasantly surprised at their wide range of available product. Even more surprising than their selection was the number of fresh food (including the sushi) readily prepared for customers. Definitely coming back again!
After a fire in our apartment building we moved over to the nearby Silver Towers for six months while our place was repaired. Most of the food is tasty from the hot bar but everything is over-priced, even by New York standards, which I suppose has to do with a major supermarket (Food Emporium) being a long block and a half away (a long walk, apparently, for those not from Manhattan). It is also frequented by lots of tourists (easy marks) and visitors to the Javits Convention Center. Living here we also noticed that the Towers have a lot of what appear to be well-off college students living there, who I suppose have been installed there by wealthy parents.
This place has a lot of options! Theres a salad bar, a deli section, a prepared foods section, soup, juice and smoothie bar, coffee bar, not to mention an entire market in the back. Prepared food buffet is good, just dont go too late ( past 8pm or 9pm) because the food had been sitting out for a while by then!
Great food market in the neighborhood. Large place, very clean, and organized. There are many food options - salad bar, grilled food, juice bar, and supermarket towards the back. A few negatives: a bit pricey, the guys at the grill are not that friendly, and sometimes the food at the salad bar is not fresh.
If you want a breakfast sandwich made to perfection just the way you like it or even a buffet that you can pick all your favorites come to Sunac. Staff is fast and accurate and the store has all your items needed to get your day started or if you just need something on the way home from work.
Im appalled at the pricing and the weak selection of products. This makes a person feel wrong for their criticism of whole foods market. By no means is whole foods affordable but after going to a sunac the fact that whole foods have the product quality, nutrition, variety, and selection right becomes apparent. This is a quality /fresh fare market in name and image alone. Most of the nutrition labels are rife with the same nonsense that you likely try to avoid at the competitors in far lower price brackets. This is a sham, particularly at the price point.
An amazing place!! The only thing which I regret is that I found it very last day of my visit NYC!!Had a plate with teriyaki chicken, rice, seafood and shrims, salad and fruits for just $12. And it was really good! Sushi look really fresh and they are not overprice like everywhere else in Manhattan!Had a nice experience here with my girlfriend!
The shrimp burritos are flavorful and you get a ton of shrimp for $10. The BLTs are only $5 and stacked with a ton of bacon. Always delicious and always a deal, this is my go to made to order deli food. They also have solid groceries though they are a bit more expensive. There are also a ton of japanese and chinese desserts, ice cream, and snacks.
I was ordering a salad which is $7.45 and I had ask for avocado which is $1.00 extra and the man gave me one third of the avocado and it looked like it was seating out for a while. I told him thats all youre going to give me for $1.00 extra forget it? So I asked him if theres any free toppings and he said only onions. So I just ended up ordering a chicken caesar salad. I think the dressing was a little too salty. Never again.
Save your money and go else where. The counter guys are rude and argumentative. I’m highly upset at how I was treated today. He made me the wrong sandwich. I ordered a blt he gave me a grilled cheese. I would never order a grilled cheese I can’t eat dairy. When I told him this he argued that’s what I ordered when I didn’t. No apologies or nothing. He made the blt. Three soggy undercooked slices of bacon. Right in the trash. Wasted money and lunch break. No customer service skills what so ever.
I came here when I was in Manhattan for Comiccon. The buffet area was busy but still well-stocked. I know that some people will think that $8.99 a pound for a full-service buffet is overpriced. They are wrong. For mid-town Manhattan, this is appropriate. The quality was there...
The worst Store ever .... The Most Rude unhelpful staff of cashiers and guys at the Sandwich Counter ... EVERYTIME I go there I have a problem And I mean EVERYTIME .... the only reason people go there is because it is convenient. No other reason. They are just there working for the Paycheck.... Shame on you ...and the food ??? not too bad..its the Staff that really makes it so unpleasant to shop there..
Delicious food. Incredible variety of sandwiches, wraps, paninis, soups salads, fruit, and hot foods. And a full grocery store to boot, with organic as well as regular items. On a Thursday midday, Sunac was a very busy place with lots of customers in the seating/eating area.
Their iced hazelnut coffee is the BEST coffee ever. Their prepared fruit and salad are pretty reasonable too. I also like their selection of healthy-ish snacks and that you can buy a single piece of hazelnut chocolate at a time. Buuut when I have time I usually get snacks at the deli by my apartment in Morningside. Things just cost more down here.
I really have not come across people that were more stupid in my life. I wanted an item from the salad station (baby corn) in my stir fry but they refused to do it because baby corn is only for salads? Who cares, what is the reasoning behind this? Charge me for it! What is wrong with these people? So I walked out without buying anything, I rather starve to death then give them my money.
I went and ordered few chicken quesadillas and asked the person making them if it was possible to get then cut in half instead of thirds, he gave me attitude and told me to let me do my job, I told him I asked if it was possible, didnt demand it ... now that being said; isnt his job to please the costumer (within reason)?
The food there deserves five stars I only gave it two stars because I go there every other night to get a sandwich sometimes the same sandwich every other night and they always charge me different prices and trust me Ive spoken to people that live in the area and they all tell me the same thing they are always ripping people off and overcharging people for food if you go there frequently and you never realized it you sure will now

2022-07-07Prices could probably be a little better, but you know what they say, you get what you pay for. Its definitely true for this market. I dont mess around when it comes to any kind of meat. Free range, organic is the only way to go. Sunac is my one stop shop for groceries, no need to go elsewhere. I look at it like this, Im either going to pay more for my food or pay more for healthcare and Id rather live well. So you guys got my business forever!

2022-04-05Although it’s not the cheapest grocery store/market it is extremely fresh produce and lots of needed choices to choose from. This is usually my weekend get away when I don’t want to goto the actual market. They do have many health drink options and also lots of good beer to choose from. I would totally recommend this place even if just for a healthy smoothie this is the right place.

2022-07-06I come here weekly but am sad to say that Sunac has disappointed beyond belief. I’m an environmentally conscious shopper and always bring my own shopping tote and reusable cup. I ordered a freshly made juice asking them to use my cup. However, the manager who made my juice used a plastic cup (to measure, understandably) and then threw it away. I cordially told him that the purpose of me bringing my cup was so that we didn’t have to waste more single use plastic, which is piling up in landfills around the world. He kept insisting on the fact that he had to measure it properly to which I told him I didn’t mind that he gave me less juice but to enforce the environmental policy, which they clearly didn’t have. Then he proceeded to yell at me to get out and to stop bothering him. During a time of rising hate crimes and discrimination, what a way to treat their customers, who only wanted to stick to their principles. Wake up Sunac! If we don’t work together towards a sustainable future, there won’t be a planet left to sell juice to.

2022-05-04Used to go here almost weekly pre-pandemic since buying a condo in the area 6 years ago. Recently dropped by after leaving the office and wanted a Chicken Caesar wrap but was not allowed. Despite there being someone behind the counter, they claimed it was closed at 9:30 (I was there 9:35) and the shop closes at 10pm. There is no sign saying the deli counter closes at 9:30 and literally all the employee had to do was grab two wraps for me, would’ve taken 2 seconds max. Staff are the most unhelpful people ever. Had a slice of cake for dinner instead and it was very underwhelming.I am never going to come here again. I recommend everyone that lives in this area to stock up on some Shin Ramen because it’s gonna be better than anything you can get from this store.

2018-12-23I really liked it here. Theres a lot of variety of food to pick from. It is a bit pricey but its worth it. I ordered a juice and a grilled chicken sandwich and it was really good. I like that they make the juice in front of you and that its real, not fake stuff. I have had a juice made for me before and it was fake. The sandwich was really good as well but I think the guy forgot to put cheese in my sandwich. Regardless, the sandwich was really good. Checkout is quick too and there is a small area where you can sit down and eat. I would recommend coming here.

2021-10-19I am a regular customer that goes there 5 days a week for breakfast and lunch. Great food and very nice place except the service from the counter girl that works at coffee station she is very rude and unprofessional and this is not the first time that she behaves like that . There is no place for her at that store because she rune’s all there hard work and push us to go elsewhere. It’s a shame .

2022-03-31Frequented this place since it was convenient, despite being overpriced. Got pork belly and they had this near 100% fat hidden underneath the top layer that looked fine with the red-pink meat. This is so underhanded.
