My Mom needed rehab after a hospital stay and we chose Sunrise Manor on account of the wonderful things we heard from past residents and families. We are so happy we did choose this facility. The entire experience was wonderful and they got Mom back to her feet and home in no time. They go above and beyond to ensure each resident is satisfied. Thank you to the entire team at Sunrise for taking such good care of my Mom! Love, Joelle.
I stayed at Sunrise after a total hip replacement for rehabilitation. When I arrived I was taken to a room occupied for 3 other men and my bed had no curtain. I refused to stay there and was put in a semi private room.My stay there was a total nightmare. From aides who screamed at me and refused to give me a gown to substandard food i would not feed to a stray dog. When I asked to see a head nurse, she never came. The next day she told me it was near quitting time and she was too tired to come into my room. Another head nurse called Miss Thomas , wearing a bad wig could be quite unpleasant .The rehab staff was quite nice. Some of the aides did try. The facility could be much cleaner. On the whole I would not send anyone to Sunrise Manor.
The biggest mistake of my life was to bring my own mom to this Hell Place. The smell of urine all over inside the place, the dirty, the pampers, how unprofessional every single person is, starting from the so called doctors from another planet and the nurse general supervisor. This is where my mom fell several times and got her leg infection due to a Medical Negligence according to Doctors from Southside Hospital.
REALITY IS THAT THIS NEW GAME USING COVID AS AN EXCUSE IS VERY DANGEROUS!!! YOUR LOVE ONES ARE INSIDE THAT PLACE LIKE A CONCENTRATION CAMP!! HOW YOU KNOW THEY BEEN TREATED WELL? YOU CANT EVEN GO IN D ROOMS NO MORE!! HOW YOU KNOW THEY R NOT LEAVING THOSE POOR SOULS UNATTENDED 4 HOURS? NOT CLEANED, IN ONE POSITION FOR HOURS OR MAYBE DAYS!!! HOW WE KNOW THAT?? ITS WEIRD THAT I WENT THERE N THEY WERE 1 HR LATE TO SEE MY MOM CAUSE THEY TOLD ME SHE WASNT READY N CLEANED,.. SO THAT MADE ME THINK BOUT LOTS OF BAD THINGS. ESPECIALLY WHEN THAT HAPPENS VERY OFTEN. HOW WE KNOW THEY JUST NOT GETTING THEM READY JUST FOR D DAY OF D VISIT?? WHOS WATCHING NOW FOR D PARENTS THAT WATCH OVER YOU WHEN YOU WERE DEFENSELESS LIKE THEY R NOW! THEN WHEN YOU ASK A NURSE BOUT WHY THEY R CUT OR BRUCED OR HURT U GET AN ARROGANT ANSWER FROM THEM!! THEY DONT THINK THEY WILL B OLD IN D SAME SITUATION HOPE THEY GET TREATED JUST LIKE THAT
BE AWARE! I was discriminated against and denied entry into the building even after providing proof of vaccination and passing a temperature screening. I was told to exit the building and that I was not authorized to enter. I am a NYS licensed funeral director that came there to pick up a decedent. If I am not authorized, who is? The administration was aware I was on the way because they asked me to call prior to arrival due to the fact that the Dept. of Health was in the building. I don’t know what the coverup was about. There’s something sketchy about this place. I’ve been in countless facilities throughout the tri-state and never encountered such discrimination. Be aware!

2022-01-28I wish i could give this place a 0. Unfortunately this is the WORST place to send a love one, i am extremely worried for anyone that is in there. The head nurse Michelle, should not be in her position or have a nursing license. Her attitude and the way she speaks to people is beyond me. They do not take care of your loved one and they only want a pay day. Medicine is not given at recommend time, its given when convenient for them. Medicine is given without consent of a doctor, and left off charts so the doctor doest know. I could post pictures and tell you everything that happened but that could go on for days. Just do yourself a favor and dont send anyone there. Until this place is held to a real standard nothing will change.I will say there are some nurses that do care and want to do the right thing but unfortunately their boss is not a good leader. The PT crew for the most part is awesome! And strive to get people out of there. There is one front desk lady who is AMAZING! She is so friendly and nice!!

2022-02-28My love one is in the facility and my experience with Michelle VonGerichten RN, director of nursing on 2/26/22 was unimaginable she called my cellphone at 2am to advise my mom wasnt doing well and they needed to run test...never addressed whom she was, 1st off my mom isnt in this place its a different loved one..so u panicked thinking something happened to my mom ..who was home and fine. Then she gets it right on it being my sister.. I states ok do the testing needed..she ends the the call with ok talk with you in the morning love you Im.I let bit confused. I call back in the morning and Ms M VonGerichten, us rude tells me she cant speak to me do to HIPPAA,she was nasty. Good thing I called here while standing in the lobby of the facility and had her on speaker, where her staff was able to witness the conversation. I will be reporting this to Mr. Y Cohen. On monday,, and I wont stop there. She needs to be removed from the facility, she stayed on speaker call..be thankful I call I gave you a COURTESY courtesy huh...okay. people like her give nursing the bad rap of being uncaringand makes people concerned with the type of care our love ones receive when we arent around making people afraid. But I will be my sister voice andADVOCATE for her.

2022-04-11The staff at sunrise are very caring. Although my brother was there for a short period of time, they helped him out greatly and were able to get him home.

2022-03-16My mom was recently in sunrise manor. I definitely would recommend this place to a friend. The staff were nice, friendly and helpful. In the begging I was concerned because my mom was never in a place like this, and they really made it easy and took good care of her.

2022-02-05If no stars were possible I would give zero stars, please I urge you if you have a loved one in there advocate for them, check on them, don’t leave them alone, the experience I have there is absolutely disgusting bed sores, neglect, complete disrespect. That doesn’t include what I have witnessed being done to other patients. Please if you have any other option take it. Don’t subject yourself or any one else to this awful establishment.

2018-04-10I chose Sunrise Manor for my Grandmother who needed extensive rehab after her hip replacement. I’ve heard wonderful things about the facility from past residents and their families. I must say they were 100% correct. This was the best decision I’ve made. My Grandmother greatly enjoyed her stay and returned home very quickly. The staff are wonderful and caring and the facility has a very warm, homelike environment. Thank you to everyone for making my Grandmothers stay so enjoyable and treating her so well. God bless you all.

2019-11-29Mother went there after a car accident to rehab her knee.Put on over 40 pounds as they do not have any diabetic freindly meal options. The place is run down on the inside and many of the residents sit in the hallway waiting a long time for a nurse due to understaffing. They claimed to accept no fault insurance but, In fact, do not and have since sent large bills to my mother despite me meeting with them day 1 to ensure she was covered for her stay and repeatedly requesting to be told if the money runs out to be informed as to not be charged. The staff is nice however, The ones that can be bothered to care anyway.0 stars wasnt an option so it gets a 1.Do not under any circumstances place a loved one there.
