Hotel was decent for a nights stay but definitely could use some updating. Its supposedly non-smoking, but there was definitely an odor of cigarettes throughout the facility. Housekeeping could be better...... the was a used coffee filter still in the coffee maker in my room and an old plastic water bottle behind the TV. But the room was otherwise clean, quiet and comfortable. Also, there was no breakfast and no mini-fridge in the room.
We arrived a day early for a wedding. One of our groups rooms wasn’t ready even though we were promised an early check in. The woman at the counter told us she was a housekeeper and wasn’t qualified to be answering the questions we asked about a discount code provided by the bride and groom. The tv in the room didn’t work and one of our family members didn’t even have a remote. AC kept shutting off throughout the night. Breakfast in the morning was muffins, no coffee though. The parking lot is filled with potholes. Heard people slamming doors in the night. It has a bed and a shower but it’s pretty bare bones even for a Super 8. I’d recommend paying the extra money for a nicer place in the area.
Positive: This hotel was near places to eat, a park and gas. Negative: 2nd worst hotel of all times and I am a frequent traveler. The walls are paper thin and could hear the people above walking, and guest on both sides of the room. Hotel allows pets an a dog was barking all night. Overpriced. The bed was extra small.
Run down and should only have 1 star rating. Bathrooms were dirty. Patchwork to cover holes and peeling paint looked like a childs work. Management avoided us as we expressed dissatisfaction with broken gutters and loud noises at night. Our clothes smelled like we stayed in an old smoking room. I do not recommend this hotel at all.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I was charged $170 for one nights stay in one of the worst motels Ive ever encountered. Unlit parking lot full of potholes, dirty room and bathroom, entire motel worn and outdated, no breakfast put out in the morning (unlike the ads state). Management refuses to refund even one dollar, corporate (Wyndham) offered 3,000 points in an email, where they stated that would get me at least one free night at almost any Wyndham hotel. The truth is... you need at least 15,000 points for one free night at their CHEAPEST motel, so 3,000 is a joke, not to mention untruthful. Good reviews are fake, most likely posted by desperate owners relatives.
My room was clean and spacious. The bed was a little firmer than I would have liked. The walls and floors are very thin...I could hear talking and snoring through the wall. The motel is going through renovations room by room, which is a good sign, because it needs it. My room had a microwave but no fridge. TV was fine. Lobby is dark and very unattractive. Continental breakfast includes waffles, cereal, pre-packaged hard boiled eggs and coffee. Not comparable to Holiday Inn Express. Parking lot is full of potholes. Be careful of an extra $3 charge for the room safe. I had them remove it. Staff was very courteous, friendly and helpful.
Im going cross country with my cat. Only some hotels are pet friendly. Super 8 graciously allowed us to stay in one of their rooms for a modest fee.As others have mentioned, this facility didnt have a luggage cart, making getting everything out of the car time consuming. The parking lot was a minefield of holes. The wifi performed poorly. I found it better just to rely on my cellular service. The breakfast they offered was limited to say the least. It included packaged muffins, toast, 2 types of dry cereal, hard boiled eggs and waffles. It was adequate at best. The room was clean where it was visible. Move a piece of furniture, however, and it becomes clear that no one has moved that piece of furniture to vacuum for a very long time. I discovered pills, crumbs, pieces of paper and other unsavory looking things. The bed was very hard and showed evidence of long and hard use.The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
I get it’s a $50/night motel, but I was still pretty disappointed. The woman at the front desk last night was wearing a mask when we checked in but no one after that point was. At about 11:30pm, I had to go into the lobby to tell the workers & what appeared to be their friends to keep it down - also none of them were wearing a mask at that point. I wouldn’t recommend getting a room on the first floor, you can hear everything in the lobby. They quieted down after I asked, but then were out there again at 4am being loud. When we got up in the morning today to check out we went into the lobby and 4 people were behind the desk not wearing a mask, and there were 3 additional guests not wearing masks in the lobby. We walked out wearing our masks, and they still didn’t put there’s on.
Our hotel room was booked for us by a family member when we had to travel for a funeral. We had concerns about the general state of repair and cleanliness of our room, but as we werent the ones paying for it, we were unable to find a better hotel, as most of the family was staying there, too. I hope that management has made changes to better take care of guest rooms since then.
When we got here everyone was nice and friendly. Whenever we got to the room my door wouldn’t latch so I had the front desk woman come up and look at it and she looked at it she couldn’t figure it out. There was no maintenance man working that night so she just moved us to another room. Well in the process of moving we left our dirty clothes bag in our old room and instead of somebody saying hey you guys left a bag or knocking on the door or keeping it behind the desk for whenever we noticed that it’s gone the housekeepers stole our clothes and took them to our house it took me two days to get our clothes(mine, my husband and our 2 kids) back they lied and said that they were locked in the managers office and they were not I had a different house keeper check. But they were at the housekeepers home. My husband literally watched them run into the hotel with our bag because he was watching from the window because we just had a feeling they took our stuff. My husband is missing clothes. I’m missing clothes. So far looking thought everything. Our kids stuff is here. NEVER WILL WE COME BACK!! I wish I could give it zero stars! And I will be calling corporate about this.
We stayed here for a week. We found a deal on priceline and called to see about pet fees beforehand and the lady that answered did not say anything about having fees just that they were allowed. So we booked the room. We get there and check in and were telling the lady checking us in all about the pets and still no mention of a fee. So we go get our teen daughters and bring them up to stay a couple of days and they wanted to watch TV but couldnt get it to work. So my fiance calls front desk to ask how to get the TV working. The lady asks if he wants her to come get it and he said sure. Upon her(the general manager) entering ther room our pomchi starts barking. The lady leaves after getting the tv on and the remote wouldnt work. We just turned the tv off ( never watched a thing). A few mins later the mgr calls us and says you have to pay me for the pet in a rude tone. I reply with how was that not brought to our attention once. (The fee is 10 per pet per night, she charged us 10.75). Well we went to the desk and she gives us attitude as we are asking how this is our fault when a few of the employees saw the dogs. She threatened to throw us out. We had to give her our money for food, ended up taking my kids back to their dads after 2nights, this happened at 2am so no sleep for work as we were stressing all night, barely no one wore masks unless you approached them and then not always did they put one on, in the paperwork for pets theres a policy on leashes and we seen 2 dogs off leashes(the one went up to the general mgr and she said nothing to the owner). Lots of shadiness here, no fridge in room, a safe was in there but no fridge. If you book through priceline she also seems upset because she mentioned us booking through a third party a couple times that night and she did not apologize for her employees mistake just said it was a training issue. A training issue she gave us her customer attitude for. Ug
Great location but the rooms werent that clean. The bathroom was fine but the pillows on the bed were covered in dog hair, the carpets in the rooms were stained, and the bed sheets were on inside out. The entire hotel smelled like smoke. I would stay next door in the Holiday Inn.
We stayed at this hotel on 7/13/19. Overall was clean, however, strong smell of stale cigarette smoke in the hallways and rooms. They claim to be smoke-free. I am sensitive to smoke odors and woke up with a migraine the next morning that ruined my entire next day. Never have had this issue at any other smoke-free hotel.
I found best prices on Internet v . establishment quotes. Breakfast is included. You have hard boiled eggs, cereals, waffles, juices, yogurt and some other items. For the price I paid to have a place to sleep, shower, eat is not bad. Do not expect a 5 star hotel. I am disabled, it would have been nice to have a cart/wagon to place my gear on instead of carrying. The young man behind the counter was able to carry my breathing equipment into my room for me.
The room was old and dirty. The bed was the most uncomfortable thing I ever slept on. I think the pothole filled parking lot would of been more comfortable to sleep on. The whole hotel smelled like stale cigarette smoke. The breakfast was very limited. Never again would I stay there.
We checked in and had upstairs room and the air conditioner didn’t work so the nice guy working the front desk gave us another room.. At 1am in the morning the next shift called our room woke us up and asked why we were in that room.. not happy at all. Upon checkout reported this to the supervisor and she assured me that they would give me a discount for being distributed.. that didn’t happened..Also it says there’s breakfast included ..no breakfast
My wife and I spontaneously decided to reserve this hotel yesterday. When we walked in (wearing masks), neither person behind the counter was wearing a mask, which left serious doubt as to how clean and sanitary the whole hotel was. The room was ok. In the morning, the person behind the desk wasn’t wearing a mask either. (We were) Does this place realize we are in a pandemic and people really care about this? Don’t go there if this will (understandably) bother you.
The staff at this hotel were incredibly accommodating and helpful. They went above and beyond to help make my family comfortable. I was surprised at the options they had available for breakfast: Fruit cups, yogurt, bread for toast, waffles, cinnamon rolls, tea and coffee, oatmeal, cereal, orange juice. Some might complain about the options but not me! My children and I were very content. The rooms were just dandy and everything was clean. Next time we visit we will stay here again.
Happy 4th of July!! We stayed here 1 night. This place is ok. Not great, but not bad for the price. Room is small although it had a refrigerator, microwave, safe, mini coffee maker. However be aware of the cooling system. In our room it wasnt good at all. The King size bed was comfortable but the pillows are terrible. Bathroom is very small but clean. Nice view out of the window of a cozy pond in the back. Peaceful and quiet. This place is good for one night, if we were staying two I would go next door the the Holiday inn Express next door.
I will never stay here again staff is rude when I tried to file a complaint. They hung up the phone with me multiple times. Also the Manger is very rude didnt not care about the customer at all. The manager also was very rude and tried to blame me for something I had no control over. If your looking for any kind of stay I do not recommend it.
The bathroom was good. The rest was dirty with something that had not been vacuumed around the baseboards. The bed in this room was aweful. It sagged really bad towards the middle. In the morning at 6:30 went for regular coffee and both canisters were already empty only decalf left. Some young employee was sleeping behind office. Not worth 100.00 a night.
We were with a large group and had a fantastic experience. Staff, especially the manager Brittany, were wonderful to work with. The rooms were clean and comfortable; breakfast wasnt fancy or extensive, but was certainly sufficient. Would definitely stay there again and recommend this location.
Place was loud all night, people walking extremely loud on the second floor, slamming of doors and people screaming at midnight who seemed to be fighting. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and lack of proper pillows. I honestly regret booking here. The continental breakfast was very scarce even before 7am. I do not recommend anyone who is a light sleeper to book here. I believe I would of been more comfortable sleeping in my vehicle in the parking lot. I went next door and purchased a mattress topper to try and get some sleep my second night, although that helped a little with the discomfort the white noise machine I also purchased barely help with all the noise from the surrounding rooms and lobby. I am a very disappointed guest at this point and Im looking forward to checking out and heading home in the morning.
Really not impressed with this hotel. 2 guests, 1 cup in the room. No accessible outlets, even for the lamps in the room since at least 2 of them were not near outlets. Checkin person was just not qualified for a service job. No eye contact, and gave a speech on hotel policy that sounded robotic. We wont be returning to this hotel and will be looking real closely before booking any Wyndham properties. Other than the stay at the hotel, our weekend trip was fantastic. Beautiful area here in Canandaigua.
Was in a gorgeous area within walking distance of the hotel. Our window looked out on the lake and we could see deer near the water. Also, right across the street is Wegmans, the best grocery store on the planet. The staff were friendly, the rooms might be a bit small, but served our purpose. Also, one of the few hotels who allows dogs. Great price, and we got our military discount.
This hotel will work when youre in a pinch. Its mostly clean but because they allow pets there is pet hair and some of the rooms smell like cat urine. The bathroom fan is loud. Water pressure is good for the shower. Not a fridge in every room but if you request one they will try to get it for you. Narrow stairway is rickety like a farmhouse. The continental breakfast is typical, no protein, lots of sugar and carbs. The air conditioners work well.
This place was horrible nothing like I expected for it to be because of its location the carpets and floors were dirty even the jacuzzi tub was dirty and I had to clean it before being able to shower. But there were quite a few things that were definitely undesirable with just the cleanliness of the entire establishment.
Everything was fine and dandy until we found cock roaches running around our room. We were a little weary considering past reviews mentioning bed bugs, but they were years old so we figured things have changed since then. Unfortunately we figured wrong, and needless to say we didnt stick around to find more unexpected guests. You get what you pay for..We had to leave at 2:00am to drive back home.
I booked a room for an employee. The room was so bad he slept in his car! Feet stuck to the bathroom floor. Carpet was black and felt damp. Bed was nasty dirty. It was obvious that linens had not been changed. Staff could have cared less that he was checking out early to find another hotel.
The front desk called to complain to us 4-5 times telling us we were being noisy when we were trying to sleep. My sister even went down to explain that we were not making noise, but the woman at the front desk said we should stop watching tv, walking, or showering. (Um? Ok? Now we cant even walk?) We werent doing any of those things. These complaints against us lasted until 3am and during this time we were constantly being woken by either a phone call or a knock on the door from the front desk.
IMy coworkers and I have stayed a few nights here. Its not the nicest hotel Ive stayed in by a long shot, but its clean, quiet, and rather inexpensive. Looking for a comfortable place to get some sleep, but dont need a 5 star resort? This super 8 will get the job done. Pros: less than a mile from fingers lakes college, CMAC, Canandaigua lake. Clean, quiet, friendly staff, economical! Cons: Just a little dated, they dont offer a hot breakfast, not a vacation resort.
I dont smoke & the whole motel smells like smoke. They say its a NON SMOKING motel well it isnt. It hits you as soon as you walk in. Its disgusting. The heater/AC doesnt work. They also have tube tvs. The tv probably is 10 years old. Only 2 positives. The kid working the desk was great & its a great location. If you want lung cancer this is your place. IF YOU HAVE KIDS & DONT SMOKE, DO NOT COME HERE. Fo to the Econo Lodge down the street. I left Super 8 after 2 hrs. The front desk person let me leave.

2022-03-25I’m a very low maintenance worker who lives on the road. The staff at this Super 8 met my expectations and beyond. Miranda and her team do an excellent job. Special shout out to Sylina, arguably the best front desk employee ever.I must say though the parking lot is absolutely atrocious and needs serious repair. I know that’s beyond the on site staff capabilities but come on corporate get this location a better parking lot

2022-06-05Stayed here after a wedding and would not recommend. Place was very dirty and outdated. Beds were like they came from an old college house. But the worst part was when someone was able to use their key card to get into our room in the middle of the night. So scary! We called the front desk and they basically couldnt be bothered. Spend a bit more and stay at the holiday inn next door.

2022-05-08Upon arrival we were advised the rooms were not ready and we could hear employees yelling and dropping the F bomb. Signage indicated the property was no smoking but the whole place stunk of cigarette smoke, the bed was super uncomfortable you could feel every spring and breakfast choices consisted of coffee and cereal. Very disappointed and I dont think I would recommend or stay here again. Not worth the price we paid. Definitely gone down hill since the last time we were there a few years ago.

2022-03-28Starting at the entrance if I had stayed in the lobby long enough could have gotten high off the smell. Going up to the room the stairs were filthy. The room itself was a good size but old and dirty. The room had broken windows which caused a draft and wind noise all night. TV was a problem wouldnt turn on, then once it was on wouldnt turn off. Mold around shower door. No hot water, took a lukewarm shower. Only good thing going for this hotel is its location. It was a last minute trip. Guess you get what you pay for...but never again!

2022-06-09This place is literal trash. First of all, when we got there, there were was a dozen people in the lobby waiting to be checked in. Not a soul around.I literally went behind the counter, in a back room. No one. Someone finally called to tell them that they had a bunch of people waiting to check in. Some girl comes down and she was in the middle of cleaning rooms….you have ONE person working? She’s on the front desk AND she has to clean rooms? The hell????Room REEKED of cigarette smoke. Like REALLY bad. Didn’t even stay. Ended up going to the concert we came for and decided to just drive home instead of stay there. Complete dump.

2022-07-03Keep in mind that this is a pet friendly hotel. If you are unlucky enough to get room 104, you will attacked by fleas. I had to change rooms 3 times and I had problems in all three. They are slow to wait on you.

2022-05-10We booked our reservations and paid for it via expedia aarp because there were no rooms available in Rochester NY. When we arrived at this motel we were told there werent any rooms available. We showed our confirmation email and there were multiple papers with room keys on top of the papers on the counter. I wonder if they didnt want to give us a room because of our race. One thing for certain is Microtel in Farmington NY treated us with respect.

2022-06-05After being a Wyndham rewards member for years and traveling the country staying in multiple places out of town I was highly unimpressed to book a room online only to have them tell us there are no rooms available when we arrived. Especially 3 hours away from home on a motorcycle at 1130 at night.

2022-05-17Negative: The first room I was given had someone elses belongings in it. I had reserved a king room. Then next room was 2 doubles when I asked about a King they did not have any. I was given a room with 2 queen beds.

2021-11-28Came up from Florida to visit family for the holiday. They accommodated us and our cat. The room was perfect for our short stay and there was nothing to complain about. Would definitely come back here if I ever return to visit NY again.
