This review is for the Super Kickers Summer Camp.Sign-Up - Signing up your child is the most lengthy process Ive been through with any camp. There is no easy selection for the first four weeks or the last four weeks. You have to weed through every single week of the summer amidst choices for only Mon,Wed,Fri and Tue,Th - many of which are not consistently available because parents seem to be choosing whatever they can get their hands on.Quality of Camp - The schedule doesnt seem to add up with what you pay. My daughter says they dont spend a ton of time outside, which I understand they cant be out the entire time, but they also dont spend any time swimming. Their day of water activities consists of them going down a water slide (its a bounce house slide that they fill the bottom with water) and throwing water balloons at each other. Im not sure how the other activities are handled, but if you want your child to roller blade, you need to make sure you provide them with all of the equipment needed; they provide nothing. Fun fact: if too many kids come to camp with their rollerblading equipment, they dont have enough counselors to teach them and they have lugged all of the that stuff for nothing!Trips - I will start with the fact that trips are extra. Some are free Ive heard, but otherwise look to be spending $60 on Wednesdays (sometimes) so they can go with their fellow campers. Also, they give you no heads up as to if or when these trips are happening and you wont be able to find information on the website even when you search trips for your childs age group. They say they send out emails, of which Ive received email in regards to other topics, but nothing about field trips.EDIT TO TRIPS: Apparently they send out an email at the time of registration to let you know about trips, which I do not recall and I have read every single email. I registered my daughter sometime back in March or April so it would have been some time since then. They also mention it during their orientation, which is DURING THE WORK WEEK and starts at 6, I believe, so if you get out of work at that time, you have no hope of making before its ended. Even picking up they keychains you need to check your child in and out of camp was difficult to get. I got lucky because my office closed early one Friday that they were allowing parents to come pick them up.Last, but not least fun fact about trips. THERE IS NOT ENOUGH ROOM FOR EVERY CHILD TO GO. Somehow, they think it is appropriate to not allocate enough buses or space or counselors or whatever for every camper to have the opportunity to go.Extras - EVERYTHING in this camp is extra. They dont provide your child with a snack, you must pack them one. They dont provide you with MANDATORY camp t-shirts and you must pay $6.99 per shirt which your child is to wear each day. You must purchase their rash-guard which is simply a cheap surfer-style swim top for $10 and you will be charged if your child shows up without it on a day when they have water activities. Trips are extra and I believe it depends on where they go, but usually its around $60. Not sure what else is extra, but Im sure Ill come across something.Their correspondence via email can be appalling, although usually they respond fairly quickly. They paid absolutely no attention to whether my child was even a girl or boy (referred to my child as him after I had used her name and wrote her in an email) and sent me information about after school activities during the school year when I specifically asked about the schedule and aftercare options for camp. I asked about buses much earlier in the year and was never provided with the info. Lastly, there is no one outside to bring your children in and no one facilitating pickup and 37th Ave is EXTREMELY busy making it very difficult to drop off and pick up.Pros - Communication between the office and counselors seems efficient. I like their use of keychains to make sure your child is signed in and out. Counselors seem to care about the children, although I havent seen much.
Im writing this review about the Astoria Park soccer program. It really was as an unprofessional mess from the beginning. The first class we went to took place at the same time and location of the off-leash dog run takes place. My two year old son not only wanted to play with the dogs he also stepped in dog feces as did an instructor and by the end of the first session both him and my wife had dog feces on their shoes and clothes. Did they change the location nope? No big deal I guessNext wonderful experience was on a grey Saturday morning when we schlepped over to the park only to find nothing. No teachers no class nothing. We called. Mailbox full. We texted. No response. Nothing on their website or Facebook. We get a text an hour and a half after the class was supposed to take place that it was cancelled due to rain. We tried to leave a voicemail, e-mails, and text messages to explain our frustration and got zero response which is why Im writing this review. If you want to keep people happy and prevent them from writing reviews about how unprofessional your company is, you might want to call them back, text them, respect their time by letting them know a class is cancelled, before it takes place not after. The instructors were nice enough and this review has nothing to do with them. It has everything to do with the way they run the business.

2019-04-07Our son has been in Super Kickers for almost a year with coach Luis. He is amazing with the kids and is a patient teacher. The program fosters a community feel and weve got to meet and know other parents during the time. During weekdays when not in Super Kickers, our son will act out the lessons with his toy figures. We highly recommend the program.

2019-04-01Ive been taking my 4.5 year old son to superkickers for about 3 years, and my 2.5 year old for about 1 year. Coach Luis has been great with both the kids. Ive seen my son develop dexterity, ball control, listening skills, and some conflict resolution skills. Luis was also able to work patiently with my son as my son went through an unfortunate hitting-phase. Ive seen my daughter develop confidence and overcome her shyness. Highly recommended.

2019-06-04My son has been involved with super kickers for 4 + years now - and recently my daughter has joined tooCoach Luis is great and seems to have a knack to find the balance between keeping all kids interested, competitive without the feeling of it’s the end of the world if they don’t win.Socially it’s great for my son and he can’t wait for each practice - my daughter at this point just loves the social element but coach Luis definitely goes above and beyond to involve her ( good luck coach Luis)

2019-04-28My son Charlie has been doing super kickers for almost 4 years and its been a great experience coach luiz is extremely patient with the kids and the methods are very effective. My son can be difficult as he has asbergers syndrome but he has grown in to it thanks to the team. Coach luiz ,elvis ,alice and thiase have been brilliant. And his soccer skills are very good. The class teaches more than soccer, like social and sportsmanship are high on the agenda so we are continuing our membership.

2016-06-17The Super Kickers soccer coaches keep every child playing and learning and engaged. Other soccer programs tend to focus on the individual. Ive even seen an entire class sitting down watching one child practice a skill. They all take turns but Super Kickers coaches keep the kids moving. My four year old son (started when he was still three) loves coach Taty and the other coaches and his skills improve week-by-week!

2019-05-22The classes and the staff are amazing! The backend needs serious work. When you need help, nobody responds. Forget about calling, texting or filling out the inquiry form on the website. No-one will respond! Ever! You need to do everything in person to get answers. Totally sucks. We wanted to enroll our 2 year old in the next level of soccer class because shes loved it so much but we cant get a reply.Update: we enrolled our toddler in a different program who actually answered the phone and made enrollment very easy. However, after only 2 sessions, it is obvious who plans their classes with care and expertise. Compared to the other guys, Super Kickers is better organized and the enthusiasm in their instructors is unmatched. Besides the communication problems mentioned above, they are far superior in many ways. I will definitely bring her back for a 4th season to where it all began.

2018-09-13This program is more expensive than any other program in the Jackson heights area and they use the PS 69 PUBLIC soccer field, which wouldn’t be a problem if they didn’t kick out the other children off the field when they arrive! The PS 69 playground and soccer field is a FREE PUBLIC SPACE! And they should not be making the children in the area feel bad for using it! SUPER KICKERS rent a LOCATION !!!! My child should NOT come home disappointed and sad because he was not able to play soccer with his friends because “super kickers” kicked him out!-very angry parent

2017-10-30My son is in the super kickers soccer club which he loves but this review is about his BIRTHDAY PARTY at super kickers. The party was a blast for my son and his friends. It was SOCCER THEMED AND Staff did great with supplying decorations. They were attentive, friendly and assisted me with anything I needed. I was very happy with the turn out.
