Front desk check-in was good, lady was very nice to us. Our room and bathroom was pretty spacious, well-furnished (with two tables and 3 chairs) and lit (3 bright lamps) for our two queen bed room. If your lamp doesn’t work be sure to check behind the desk and look to see if it’s plugged into the outlet, we thought our lamp wasn’t working but realized it’d been unplugged probably during cleaning. Fresh clean sheets and pillows, overall neat room. Over all good stay for what we paid, and well-needed after hours of driving. Oh and there’s Friendly’s right next door which was super convenient for dining.
Now our stay at this particular hotel wasnt what we thought it would be. First the hotel stuff was not knowledgeable of running the hotel. There was no house keeping services provided the 1 person wasnt trained properly. There was no maintenance on hotel grounds, none functioning vending machines on any floor(3). The rooms werent cleaned nor sanitized nor was the 🚽 functioning meaning it wouldnt flush unless you do it manually by hand. Continental breakfast wasnt worth eating on any healthy level; no most rooms was occupied by drug addicts of all kinds as well as homeless people an Lot Lizards. The only convenience was you can walk to different restaurants an stores an mall. The Hotel management was absolutely disrespectful an nasty disposition.I strongly advise anyone to not stay at this particular hotel under any circumstances even as a short stay just find someplace else so you wont break out in hives or end up with scabies ! I understand covid has stopped an slowed down a lot of service but this wasnt worth $448 from Price Line booking. We are still fighting to get our discount for a horrible hotel in Johnson City Binghampton N.Y.Dont let the pictures fool you on the website I would give no stars but a zero
Positive: Access to major highways? I don¿t know otherwise. The place was shut down and I never made it inside the front door. Negative: Well, the place was shut down due a water main break for the prior two weeks and they still took my reservation one week after that. No warning about this the entire time I held the reservation and showed up with no place to stay. Thanks a bunch!
Really bad, the rooms are kinda dirty the staff seem nice but they’ll lie to you about everything. Their website lies about many things such as a pool or how the rooms are supposed to look like. I didn’t get it the worst however my teammates on the trip with me have some horror stories from their rooms such as giant stains and other gross stuff. When I got back the room key wasn’t working and they said it was my ‘phone’ while multiple other people were struggling to get into their rooms as well. Absolutely awful place do not come.
Positive: This whole complete hotel was disgusting. The towels were stained And nothing was very clean including my bathtub. When I went to the front get extra towels I was greeted by the cleaning lady At the front desk looking like a meth head. Never again Negative: When I try to get extra towels I was greeted by the cleaning lady covering for the front desk person she and the person that finally showed up both look like meth heads with scabs all over their arms neck and face. I only needed some towels. crazy
Very poor are their jobs. Double charged my card along with the company I booked on. Got them to acknowledge their mistake and instead of refunding my card, they refunded the booking companys card on file. Called for a month to fix the issue . Felt like I spoke to every single front desk worker. Eventually called the booking company who also tried to confirm with the hotel and could not get in touch with them either. Finally went to the hotel while on the phone with the booking company and had them talk right there. No care whatsoever for my issues especially from the front desk worker Jordan who was the laziest of them all
The staff is nice but needs better organization. Didn’t have me in the books when I already called for a room.Interior looks remodeled but not the hotel rooms themselves.People who stay there or hang out outside will smoke and seem a bit shady.Towels are really old and stained even though clean so uncomfortable to use.Crying kids, unsure if temp housing.Breakfast is two fruits and some coffeeNo GYM. Can’t use the one across the street even though some staff says you can. Ownership changed. Trial and error.
I stayed here several months ago and had an amazing time, the staff there was friendly kind and everything was clean and well prepared. However, when I stayed there a few nights ago with a co worker, none of the staff that was there last time was anywhere to be seen. When we arrived for check in there was a women out front smoking a cigarette, we didnt think anything of it. Besides the girl smoking outside we were the only ones there and we waited nearly twenty minutes to check in, turns out the girl out front, the one who watched us walk in, watched us stand at the desk while she chain smoked, was the receptionist. But she was too busy out front to take five minutes out of her evening to check us in. Not like its her job or anything. She was unfriendly, acted like everything was a chore, cursed at us under her breath. We should have just left after this, but it was late and we needed to get to work in the morning so we dealt with it.However, and to put this lightly, this place was the most God awful, disgusting experience I have ever had in my entire life. The room we stayed in was a non smoking but it reeked of cigarettes mixed with weed and cat piss. The blanket and sheets had stains all over them, it was like dolly partons coat of many colors, only disgusting and smelled like fish. We requested new bedding, but low and behold we never got them. The room floor was horrible to walk on, it was like there was never ending filth layered over the carpets. The bottom of my socks turned brown within the first hour of our stay. Clearly the carpets havent been vacuumed in ages. The bathroom, was the most nauseating part yet. The toilet was splattered with yellow and brown stains, mildew all over the shower and a weird waxy film covered the walls. I opted out of getting a shower in the morning, the bottom of the bathtub had brown stains caked to it. If God descended from heaven and handed us heavenly bleach, and that tub was scrubbed for forty days and forty nights, it would still be nasty. But most of all, the best part of my stay was probably when I saw some creepy crawlies, I dont mind spiders, but a roach is a huge no-no, and not only that, I ended up getting bed bugs.I feel like I walked in the Dantes Inferno and this hotel was the ninth circle of hell. If I could give this place 0 stars I absolutely would. Just thinking about this place makes me want to vomit.
The hotel decor was nice, however, that is the only positive thing I can say about our stay. The AC in our room would not stay running, however, the toilet ran all night! Also, our smoke alarm was disconnected and thrown in the top of the closet. The main doors were broken and would not open. The staff was decent. The grab n go breakfast that was advertised was a yogurt cup served with a fork.
Booked a room to break up a long trip for my parents. When they arrived at midnight, the concierge said there were no available rooms. When my mother tried to show the concierge her confirmation, the concierge was very rude in her response, which basically amounted to: we have an event and the hotel was sold out in advance so my parents could not have made a reservation and I dont want to see any papers. Now leave. Clearly, the hotel forgot to sync with Hotels.com, everyone makes mistakes. Btw, the hotel also receives confirmations - they could have called. But its not what you want to find out at midnight. And you dont want to be screamed at. They should have apologized and tried to accommodate my parents, e.g., by contacting another hotel in the area. Instead my mom got scream at, and I had to scramble to find another hotel.
Positive: Location and easy on/off the highway. Negative: While checking in, the clerk dealt with two employees who came to get their checks making us wait instead of them. The toilet had not been cleaned. Two of our four cups were not wrapped and one was dirty. We¿re told of a bag breakfast but all out.
This place seemed nice in the lobby, but was soon proved to be RATCHET as we wanted the room. My sheets were stained and the bath was gross. It gets +1 due to the nice meth-head that had keys to everyones room and opened it without our permission while we were inside😳. But anyways, stay if you like rats ig 🤷♀️🤰🏼
Room looked like it had not been vacuumed in 9 months. Staff was friendly but they seemed to be dealing with many issues and appeared short staffed. Front entrance door glass pane was busted out. The were slow to repair it and several days later there were still glass shards all on the floor at the entrance way. Towels need to be replaced. Not ideal hotel stay.
Terrible place; website lies as there is no pool! No fridge in room, and no fire alarm in the room, only wires hanging down. Breakfast, if you were up early enough, was a brown paper bag with a honey bun and apple or orange. The room keys kept malfunctioning, every few minutes! Frustrating for us and the staff. The only good thing was the location. Food places all around and a mall across the street.
Positive: Comfortable beds, large room, price, easy walk to restaurant.Lots of minor annoyances (see below) but overall OK for the price. Negative: Food of former guest left in fridge, smoke detector hanging off wall, bathroom fan caked with dirt,no plug for sink, told there was no breakfast while standing at sign on counter touting their grab & go breakfast, water shut off with no warning in morning.
Positive: Checking in went great, the representative had a great personality. Checking in was the highlight of the evening. Hallways were nice, nice upgrades to floor. Rooms needed help though. Negative: Checked into first room-not cleaned, I should say it was half done. Receptionist took care of that though, could not complain with the receptionist at all. Could not sleep, loud music from the floor below us, in the morning place reeked of marijuana.
The hotel is very easy to find. & the staff is very nice but my experience here was horrid. On the way to our hotel room we seen about 6 spiders & multiple spider webs everywhere, there were even a few crickets hanging around. When we finally got into the room we thought things were good... lo & behold things were NOT good. The bathroom had very stained shower curtains & a very rusty shower head. We finally laid down to go to sleep & there were all types of human hair .. head hair as well as pubic hair. Also on the bed sheets were huge red blood stains as well as what looked to be feces stains. After we noticed them we immediately went to the front desk & requested to either get a refund or have the room switched. The guy at the front desk had no issue with switching the room. The process was short. We finally received the room keys & headed up to our second hotel room. When we arrived the keys for the door didn’t work. After trying for 4 minutes we decided to go back down to the front desk. At this point the employee didn’t believe us so he proceeded to try and open the door himself (with no luck) . Eventually we followed him back downstairs & he switched our room AGAIN. we finally were able to get a new room but when we entered it was almost as bad as the first. The pillows were very musty. The Bed sheets & blankets had a bunch of stains on them & it was very dusty in the room. Not to mention around 3AM there was a huge black spider crawling up the wall. Finally it was time to check out & we noticed that each of us had a minimum of SIX spider bites. All over arms & legs. I do not recommend this hotel. The only good thing about it was how nice the staff was. So NOT worth it!
DO NOT BOOK HERE! YOU WILL REGRET IT IF YOU DO!One of my beds smelled like PISS!My group of friends and I stood here for 2 nights. We got two rooms that were conjoined so we could easily go in and out without disturbing the rest of the guests. It all seemed good until one of us laid down on one of the beds. One of the beds smelled entirely like piss, urine. Not only that, one of my friends left his things on that bed while we went out, since, you know, you dont expect beds to smell like piss. When we got back, his things took in the smell and also smelled like piss. In the other room, the mini fridge was broken and we couldnt store anything in there. I do NOT recommend this hotel. This isnt a fluke either. Reading through other reviews, it seems like its consistent.
We booked a room online and confirmed by customer service. After a long hour drive, we could not check in because a room was not available. It was almost midningt and could not find another hotel. Horrible service!!!!!! Please stay away from Best Western Resort. There is no guarantee you can have a room after confirmed.I never use Best Western again!!!!!
Apparently recently changed to a Best Western. Needs a lot of work. Elevator is scary. Will it make it to the 2nd floor? Parking lot needs work. Looked like some section 8 housing was happening here? Breakfast was late. Ran out of coffee. Probably wouldnt stay here again.
Positive: Perfect location for visiting Binghamton area. Nice property. Negative: DSS clients often at the entrance creating a cloud of cigarette smoke. Not a good look or feel. Require smokers to keep a substantial distance from the entrance. Maybe a smoking lounge? Could be a big problem come winter.
Cigarette smoke everywhere! Switched rooms to another floor. Dirty. Someones clothes were hanging in the closet! Couldnt stay there. They were accommodating and refunded our money. Would have only given one star, but because they didnt give us any problems, i gave the extra star.
TL;DR: Seriously consider staying somewhere else. Otherwise you will listen to construction. Not very clean.Hotel is under renovation, which is not advertised anywhere. I got a room that was directly underneath a room under construction. Ive been here for 3 hours and have been listening to what sounds like a grinder on tile since the moment I walked in. Apparently, the renovation work is done every day from 9 to 5:45pm. There are no discounts or accommodations offered for listening to the deafening sound of construction around you. Someone from the front desk did apologize, so they can have credit for that. But seriously, if you are having EVERY room remodeled, work with your vendor and know what rooms are going to have to listen to a jackhammer above their head for 4 hours straight. This way you can schedule around those rooms.I tried to have a phone conference and a Zoom conference but all the other people on the phone could hear was the grinding. Even with noise-canceling headphones, I could not hear the other people on the call and they could not hear me over the grinding. The RedRoof in Johnson City is almost identically priced, offers the same things, and doesnt have construction. Stay there. If youre curious about which pictures are post remodel since they have no captions: the newer pictures are the ones with the painted cabinets. They look better in person but it looks like a downgrade from the older pictures of the lobby area. The rooms are fine, if a little dated. I do not know why they advertise having microwaves because the thing is clearly 20 years old. It has a turn dial instead of buttons.Dont expect much in the way of cleanliness. The floor of the room had crumbs under the bead and basically everywhere that youd have to put in extra effort to get a vacuum cleaner. The bed runners also had crusted stains on them. The carpeted floors have old gunk stuck in them, but about as much as youd expect an older hotel to have.I had read google reviews of the location and older ones had mentioned the remodeling and lack of cleanliness. I figured theyve had 6-8 months from those reviews to clean up and finish remodeling. They havent. They have a good location next to Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and Dunkin. Plus the quick access to the Mall, Wegmans, and the Wegmans Liquor store. So they can keep the 1/5. Im truly surprised there arent people in the lobby demanding refunds. The staff is generally friendly. While appreciated, friendliness doesnt completely make up for the construction and overall lack of cleanliness. Maybe once the remodel is finished the place will be a little nicer, but theyll still need to take a serious look at the cleanliness. food waste and crunch stains on fresh bedding does not inspire confidence.
Positive: Free Wi-Fi & parking, close to interstate, restaurant options, grocery store & Dollar Tree store. Negative: At check-in, advised of broken glass in front of the entrance, took 3 days before it was cleaned. Arrived at night, there was no outside lights on. Trash bags/boxes piled up outside rear entrance. Multiple machines Out-of-Order. Mold/hole in ceiling tiles
This place is disgusting!! The towels had stains, the pillow cases and sheets were also stained, it smelled like mold, the toilet was not clean. IT WAS JUST DIRTY ALL AROUND! I didnt even stay my duration I checked out the same day I checked in. Disgusting. Worst accommodation Ive EVER been to!
The room was very clean and spacious. An added bonus was the heating lamp in the bathroom. My only complaint would be the refrigerator froze my fresh fruit within 8 hours of placing it in there. Also housekeeping was knocking on the door around 8:30am so make sure you place your do not disturb tag on the door.
My toddler and I stayed here just one night as a stopover while going on a camping trip. The entire hotel is under construction and there were only a few other cars in the parking lot. I looked but didnt see a pool and breakfast wasnt available. Not sure if that was because of Covid-19 or just the construction. BUT, I cant say enough nice things about this hotel and the team. Right after making my reservation I called to confirm it was okay that we werent essential workers and the lady on the phone was VERY kind. She made a point of looking at our reservation and making sure everything was squared away on her end. Ive called other hotels for the same question and get a quick yes or no. So her thoughtfulness was very appreciated. When we arrived on the property, there were 3 people behind the desk. I think one of the girls was in training because a 2nd girl was over explaining stuff. With all the construction happening on the first floor (though the carpets on all the floors are being replaced and you can tell lots is happening) I was very pleased to be put on the 3rd floor. We might have been the only people on that entire floor. The room was very clean and I always check for bed bugs. Even in super fancy places, I ALWAYS check. I do the whole routine where I put my kid and luggage in the bathroom while I go over the room. It takes 10 minutes to avoid a disaster - worth it! Its not the hotels fault unless they are knowingly ignoring the problem. But again, in this case, the place was perfectly clean. No bed bugs and no dust. The vending machines all had a note that the front desk had candy because some of the machines were missing. We went to the front desk and again, the people at the desk were right there and quick to help. They didnt have a display case of candy or anything but they were very accommodating to find out what kinds of chips they had to choose from. So in this case I think management should have provided their team with something like a box of options to keep up at the front desk or something. BUT the team themselves were cheery and happy and at the front desk. I get so frustrated when I have to wait for them to show up and was especially pleased in this case because the hotel was clearly not bustling with activity. In the morning when my kiddo was still sleeping I snuck downstairs to grab breakfast. I looked and couldnt find it so I went to the front desk. It was 6:15am and there was a single male behind the desk. But again.. this rockstar was right there. I asked about breakfast and he was very happy to explain that due to the circumstances there wasnt any breakfast available. But again, not sure if those circumstances are Covid or construction. The remote control was in a baggie, nice touch for Covid-19. I spotted some cleaning ladies as we left and they all had face masks and gloves on.So overall I was extremely pleased. This is a 2 star(?) hotel? I got a last minute discount on Google so my rate was $72 (taxes included) for a King room on a Friday night. The location is right off the highway in a very well maintained shopping district. You are near a McDonalds and other stuff. We hit Dunkin Donuts on the way out of the parking lot.The owners are clearly taking advantage of the lull in traveling by doing renovations. As a business women I appreciate the efficiency! I was expecting a pool and breakfast but the teams attitude more than made up for it. Very happy! Kudos all around :)
6 hours ago my room was supposed to be ready, still waiting for it to be done a half hour after I checked in. Do not stay here unless you like waiting around for bad customer service. Word of warning no bathroom on main floor because employees lost the key. Who’s running this place? Seems to be nobody.
I worked at this hotel for almost a year and it’s honestly the most unprofessional company that I’ve ever worked for. The front desk staff constantly turns people away and cancels reservations based on the quests appearance, there’s a bed bug infestation in multiple rooms, the “breakfast” consists of stale donuts, pastry’s and coffee, there’s constant drug activity on the property, the rooms and common areas aren’t properly sanitized and management doesn’t enforce the COVID-19 mask mandate. The manager is not only rude and unhelpful, but he calls the cops on any guest that doesn’t agree with him when it comes to any problems regarding their stay. My advice is to stay as far away from this hotel as possible because even if you make a complaint to the manager, nothing will be done about it and you’ll end up having to contact Best Western’s customer service to file your complaint.
Very unhappy with both the way this hotel is maintained and it’s management. I reserved a room through Hotels.com on the day of my stay. I arrived, checked in and stayed in a hotel that met my expectations, based on the rate. But when I checked out, I had multiple charges for the rate of the room. Obviously this was an error through the website. I contacted them and they told me to contact Hotels.com. Hotels.com contacted them for me while I was on the phone and the hotel stayed by it’s policy, even though I obviously didn’t book the room multiple times. I asked Hotels.com to fix it and they just kept telling me that it was up to the hotel. On top of all this, the lock to my room didn’t work and I couldn’t get the air conditioner on. Either way, watch this hotel. I’m not happy with hotels.com either.
Very clean hotel. Room was perfect, well kept, & fully supplied. Staff was very friendly. Great price for the room. Breakfast had a lot of choices, both hot & cold. Pastries were fresh. Eggs & bacon were hot & done perfectly. Coffee was hot, fresh, & tasty.Staff was great. It was very cold & my car battery was too weak to start the car. Front desk woman grabbed her coat, brought her car to mine, & jumped my battery using her car. I offered her a tip & she refused it. Because of this, I was able to get to a funeral on time.I will only stay at this hotel whenever I am in this area.
Very satisfied with our stay at this hotel. Room was very clean and bed very comfortable. Hotel is a little older but well maintained. Staff were really friendly. Breakfast options were excellent. I was very surprised to see they also offered options for people who are intolerant to gluten and/or dairy which was my case. They also offered almond milk which I have never seen in all of my hotel travels. Bravo to management!
The rooms were clean and well stocked with plenty of outlets. The parking lot was open, with plenty of space. The breakfast was what you expect: waffles, muffins, cereal, juice, coffee, tea, toast. I only minimally interacted with the staff, but it was fast and friendly. For the price, its about as good as it gets.
We have stayed here a couple times now - to visit with our son. Both times , we have been treated courteously by front desk , dining area and housekeeping staff. The complimentary breakfast has several options available, with food hot and tasty, and the tables are kept clean between hotel guests. The complimentary gym next door is a great perk also, and is worth a trip across the parking lot !Rooms are clean , and appear to have been updated in the recent past.We will definitely stay here again - and recommend this hotel to others. 👍🏼👍🏼!
Spiders everywhere. The stairwell/doors patio everything has webs and big spiders everywhere. I understand a few but it is crazy really makes for a uncomfortable stay. Other than that staff is great and rooms were for the most part clean, I had to clean the room remote because it had all kinds of nasty on it. Not very reassuring during COVID
This hotel is amazing. Big comfortable beds, updated rooms with lots of places to charge electronics. The breakfast is fantastic eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, yogurt, waffles, they even had almond milk. The sports club that you have free access to is across the parking lot and the pool is lovely warm and the work out facility is good too. But the best feature of court Jester (pool and fitness center) is the sauna and Whirlpool inside the locker room. おんせん
Our room didn’t have any hot water. We tried showering at 9:00 pm and water was cold. Talked to girl at desk and she couldn’t switch our room because she wasn’t sure what rooms had hot water and which rooms didn’t have hot water. She said it would be fixed soon. We didn’t have hot water the next morning. Spoke to different girl at desk and she said she would have the manager Nick call. He didn’t call. I called back that afternoon and was told Nick would call as soon as he got downstairs, he didn’t. We have stayed at this hotel when it was a Best Western and it was comfortable. Not anymore.
Rooms are in need of some upgrading, especially the bathrooms. My room had signs of significant water damage on the ceiling. It would be nice if comfort height toilets were installed; the seat on the one in my room wasnt even knee height. The carpeting could use some freshening up as well as there was an odor to the room; not sure if they have dedicated rooms for guests with pets.
Checked in late close to midnight was tired but unfortunately had to move rooms due to smoking/strong cigarette smell in the supposedly “non-smoking” room I had reserved. I was coughing from the powerful cigarette stench. Then the worst was the very very loud banging on the door at 7:30 AM!! by housekeeping even though the “do not disturb” sign was on the outside of the door. Then I requested for a late checkout at 12pm instead of 11am & was vehemently declined. Very first hotel I’ve heard of that declines a 1hr late checkout in-spite of inconveniences. Didn’t make sense at all.
Walking in, very nice lobby.. get to 4th floor, they must have forgotten they had one! Nothing updated at all. Water stains on ceiling in the room, bathroom needed to be scrubbed down before using, the entire place smells like weed and, no pool or fitness center, that all the websites mention. The front desk staff was asking someone else to learn how to check people in because she needed to leave for a few hours and no one was willing to work for her. Information someone waiting to check in should not have to listen to. Computers in the business center did not work properly and the printer didnt do its job either!! Not impressed at all.
The lobby of the Best Western Plus in Johnson City was absolutely beautiful the rooms were very clean. We were advised that the rooms will be updated in near future although they were very clean. The value of the hotel was good. Staff very professional and friendly. Free coffee and tea available most of day and evening.
Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was simple yet good. Just what we needed.Pool is not in hotel, but rather across parking lot at a health club. Not convenient.Bar was small but sufficientRight near Dennis and other restaurants.Easy on and off ramp from highway
Stayed 4 days here as we visited Animal Adventure Park and it was very nice! The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean and nicely decorated. It was moderately priced and a good value. There were several places to eat within walking distance and there was a shopping mall across the street too! Will stay there again the next time I visit upstate NY!
During a road trip, I decided to book a night here because the photos seemed pretty nice and it claimed to have 24 hour access to a fitness center and pool. The lobby is very clean and modern.I wish that I could say that the room was just as nice, however, it smelled musty upon entry and it seemed dated and plain. No USB ports but it has a 90s digital clock on the night stand. The bathroom has claw marks on the inside of its wood door, so Im assuming that someone tried to keep their large dog trapped in it at some point. The toiletries are absolutely laughable. The shampoo and conditioner bottles are so tiny that they could only accommodate one male with short hair. After getting settled in at around 7pm, we were going to visit the pool, however, we discovered that the 24 hour fitness center/pool was closed. I tried to ask about it at the front desk, but no one was there. I went outside the front door and found the front desk employee smoking and talking to a guy about some chick. I felt weird about interrupting so I just retreated to my room.Overall, Im extremely disappointed. Its certainly overpriced for what it is. The only nice thing about this hotel is the lobby. Had I only spent $70, I might have been less deflated about it. I wish I had stayed at the equally priced Holiday Inn instead.
I was extremely pleased with our stays. The cleanliness was impeccable and the bed was very comfortable. The entire staff is professional and caring. The breakfast was great. Even though a number of tour buses came in, the room was quiet.IOur experience there was excellent.
We book 2 rooms for the weekend and ask for a non smoking room they gave us a smoking room and we had 3 kids with us, one of them have asthma. Both room smell and had spider webs all over, one room had a centipede as well. Made the complaint to the front desk they move us over to 2 new room which was great until we notice none of them had refrigerator and we was told at least one will have a refrigerator. Front desk keep telling us call management which we did the whole weekend NO ANSWER, left him a message NO REPLY. Every complaint was mention I have all the photos as well from spider webs, centipede and no refrigerator.
I stayed one night at this hotel. The room itself was satisfactory, and its breakfast was great as well. However, as I was checking out, the front desk person did not acknowledge me when I approached him, and did not even make single eye contact when I finally told him that I need to check out. Also, there was no proper greeting or goodbye. I felt very much ignored the whole time.I have traveled all around the world for +10 years now, and have never received such bad service like this during these years. Everything else at the hotel was great, but this 1 minute-long interaction with the front desk truly ruined my experience. I hope to see better service from this hotel in the future.
So I usually stay at la Quinta but because they were packed we decided to stay at sure stay as I was checking in the lady at the front desk was very nice we got our room on the second floor and started un packing noticed the door to the room was not shutting all the way I went to open the door there was scrapes and it looks like someone had broken in at one time did not feel safe at all because the door was not shutting all the way so I went and told front counter they switched our room then the new room the fridge would not shut all the way so they replaced the refrigerator then I was told by somebody that they do not change their sheets only if they are dirty so we had packed up and left I will not be back
Dont wast your time here. The staff was less than helpful. The rooms are dated and way overpriced. As i walked down the hallway to my room i noticed the floor along the walls were pretty dirty. I opened my room door and was greeted by a dirty floor and crumby bed sheets. Also the shower stall was far from being clean with mildewed grout and soup scum buildup on the tile. I have stayed in Best Western hotels across the country and this is by far my worst experience. Usually the staff is quite pleasing. They are more than fair on room rate negotiations. I live in motels most of the year for work and know what a good deal is on a room. Dont waste your time or money stopping at this place. Save yourself the hassle and go up the road to the RED ROOF INN. Way better room and rate. Plus the staff is very cordial. I had a goal this year to stay in ONLY Best Western hotels but this place broke the streak for me.
Very clean, worth the price paid. Breakfast has limited selections, however, there is a restaurant in the same parking lot as the hotel. There is a grocery store in the plaza across the street for any forgotten items . The pool is not inside the hotel, it is in an entirely separate building that is part of an athletic club & the hot tubs are not always on/in working condition. All of the hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again when in the area
Hotel was nice and the breakfast was good! Only thing Id change is have the pool inside the hotel instead of next door at a gym! But they had a hot tub and sauna open 24hrs so that was nice! Richard at the front desk was very kind and helpful! He deserves recognition for being great at what he does!!
Location is convenient. Staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel lacks an in-house gym and swimming pool. It seems the hotel has a deal with a nearby gym that guests can use. However, their swimming pool is only open after 1:30PM for kids. This means kids cannot go for a swim on the day of check out.The hot breakfast lacks selection. And it closes by 9AM. Not what would expect from a PLUS hotel.
Besides the fact the elevator is a death trap waiting to happen , the staff is quite rude. Hotel is full of wet paint and stinks of smoke . Hallways are tore apart and the house keeping just walks in at 8 in the morning with the do not disturb, they do not have a pool fitness center or bar despite advertising it.
I asked for a particular room a month and three days before arrival. It was not ready. Was promised to go in the next day. Never happened. There was one bath towel in the room. No wash cloth or hand towel. I had to ask twice before receiving. Breakfast was meager. No decaf coffee even though was told would be made. Was supposed to stay 14 nights. Left after 4th night. Worse hotel in my 89 years.
We picked this hotel for location, price and indoor pool. The room was nice and clean, the staff was helpful. However we specifically wanted an indoor pool. It was December and freezing out. We were looking to have a summer vacation .You see a picture of the pool on the Web site but are not told the pool is in a fitness center next to the hotel. The experience at the fitness center was disgraceful.
I wont stay here again. Location was good. Everything nearby. The rooms were clean. However there is no pool on site. You must go to the neighboring fitness club with restricted hours. There was no refrigerator in the room as described. The bed was very old and soft. It actually creeked when sitting on it. The front desk forgot to activate the keys. Very inconvenient. Definate updating needed. The lounge is not open. Not sure if it will ever be. The security is lacking. None of the entrance door were locked.
My wife lost one of her diamond ear rings somewhere in the hotel. The staff went out of their way searching the room, the halls and the breakfast area. They found the ear ring in the lobby area.We received a note from the house keeper informing us that she shook out all of the bed linens and avoided vacuuming the floor of our room.In addition to having an unbelievably caring and competent staff, the hotel is well furnished, clean, includes a heated breakfast, is reasonably priced and is in walking distance of restaurants and a first class mall.It will be our home away from home whenever we visit family in Johnson City.
The room was nice. The toilet was broken. We reported it, and after they checked it out it was still broken. We reported it again and the desk clerk tried to fix it and it ended up running all night. Its partly our fault because we should have requested another room from the beginning. But they also didnt seem to care very much.
Good and clean and helpful staff. We stayed during the horrible Binghamton snowstorm--31 inches!--and had to stay three days. The staff was helpful, and guests and staff had a were-all-in-this-together attitude that made this a memorable stay. One of the owners of the hotel helped dig my car out. Thats service!
Unfortunately upon taking a shower in the morning we found blood on a towel and many pubic hairs within the shower. We took the towel to reception and they where shocked but stated we should have addressed it the day before (we didn’t get there until 11pm and didn’t find this until the morning) they stated we should check out and contact Expedia as we booked via them. Expedia reached out to them and they denied any kind of refund based on the fact we checked out and they ‘had to stick to their policy’. This is disappointing service.
I wouldnt be so sure youll get to stay here.Made a reservation for this weekend 3 weeks ago and they called me at 5pm the day of my check in to say that they were closed and were canceling my reservation, forcing me to pull over and make last minute plans as I was already halfway there and on the road.
Nice hotel, clean room, good breakfast choices. Very helpful staff on duty when we arrived without a reservation. Bed needed replacement. Sink pluged up, very slow draining. No pool onsite but close by if one has the time and free pass available. Elevator on 1st floor not quite lined up, triping hazard. Would stay here again if timing was right as we drive south or north.
This was the worst experience I have EVER had!! They do NOT have a pool like advertised it is across the street! MIND YOU children can only swim from 8-10 AT NIGHT!!! And who knows how breakfast tastes because the sign and the man at front desk says it was served till 10, I get there at 9 and they had it all cleaned up!!! Not happy at ALL with this an will NEVER spend my money there again! So disappointed! :(
My experience here was absolutely terrible, and I say this because me and my roommates were hearing weird noises at night and we couldnt fall asleep till after 12am. And because this was a team trip the other girls in our team were in the room next to us so we could even open the doors that were in our rooms and talk. But bright and early they heard a banging on their door saying that their room was flooded and it was with toilet water. All of their things were soaking wet with the nasty toilet water. First that and not to mention that the person who I was sleeping in the bed with, we found strands of other peoples hair and were getting bit by something.
Older hotel that has been mostly remodeled. Staff was attentive, helpful and friendly. Breakfast area was updated and appealing. Good selection of hot and cold breakfast items. We chose this hotel because it offered a pool. However, the pool offered as part of hotel experience is NOT connected to hotel. Note that it is a separate fitness club located across parking lot. Pool was very large but hours for swimming are limited especially swimming time for kids. Also important to note that it is a lap pool which was awkward when we arrived to swim with our kids and the two outside lanes were occupied by people swimming laps. On our second evening no lap swimmers were present and there were a good amount of families. Hot tubs are not in pool area but rather in separate mens/womens locker rooms. Not what we were expecting or appropriate for our needs as a family. Overall, we would sum up our stay as successful and enjoyable. We were traveling for leisure so amenities (ie pool and hot tub) were an important to us. Fitness club may be very comprehensive but it was not important as part of our trip but some travelers may find that the large fitness club is a plus.
Hotel was nice, however, internet very slow, room not very clean : cobwebs, dirty windows, the bathroom door didnt close/open without force. the freezer in the fridge was caked in ice and it ran alot. Room was way to close to dining area so noise was a problem. Staff was ok but not very helpful. The price was good as we were a group and the location was very good also.
The mattress was shot, the sink drain was plugged ,the tub drain didnt even have the cover on it just a hole ,the water is constantly running in the tub ,and you had to shake the handle on the toilet to stop it from running. The absolute worst Best Western I ever stayed at . Its a shame because I always boast how good they are. Say no to room 407.
Enjoyed my stay at this place while out of town on business. No issues and you get to use the 24 hour gym next door for free while you stay. Actually, 1 issue. Wifi on 3rd floor barely worked at all. Thought it would fix itself and didnt say anything until my 3rd morning. Work sent me home that day so never found out if it got corrected.
It should be called Best Western Minus (sorry, I had to).I chose to stay here during my business trip because Im a loyalty member with the chain. There was only one parking spot open near the hotel, and it was in the middle of a giant puddle. The parking lot is shared with another hotel, a bar & grill, a chocolate shop, and a 24 hour gym, with a Friendlys (it had its own tiny parking lot) off to the side..and its filled with potholes. The hotel looks a little run down from the outside and feels the same from the inside. The rooms need updated furnishings and appliances. They did have plenty of electrical outlets, but no USB ports. The Wi-Fi at the hotel and in the area was very unreliable and I could barely get any work done. But most importantly, it was very clean. Given the age of most of the things in the hotel youd think thered be inevitable stains and build-up, but it really was spotless. The hotel didnt have a gym, but guests are allowed to use the 24 hour gym next to it which is a better option than a small hotel gym anyway.
The location was okay a bit outdated but my experience was horrible. I had to change rooms three times for different reasons and then there was a loss of power in the hotel for hours. There was no attempt by management to offer any kind of compensation. Would not stay again.
Overall was good and would stay again. Was a mixture of good and bad. The people were great, breakfast was good with eggs and sausage etc. Room was big, beds were queen and comfortable. Fridge was small, AC was ok. The biggest negative was the bathroom. The tub and shower need an upgrade. I would stay again.
Thank you so much for the outstanding review. We are so glad to hear that the staff was able to make your stay such a delight. We take great pride in making our guests feel welcome and satisfied during their experience with us. We look forward to seeing you in the near future. Please feel free to call with any...
My husband stays at the BW Plus, Johnson City for work at least 6 weeks a year. He likes the location, close to everything and to his work. Staff is more than accomodating and he is more than happy with the rooms. The beds are COMFORTABLE. he loves that! He is there now (February), sort of a slow time for BW Id imagine and they are doing some great renovations that will make this hotel even nicer. He said it is not at all disruptive and staff works hard to assure that it isnt. Great place to stay if you are in town for a few days, college stuff, hockey, baseball or whatever!
For a pleasant experience with courteous staff and more amenities than you can consume in one stay, excellent and safe, well lit parking, easy access, and comfort, I would recommend this Best Western Plus. A very enjoyable stay awaits travelers thru this area. Good dining places are nearby within walking distance.
Thus best western was pretty good in spite of being under renovation. It will probably be high quality when they are done! Located near to restaurants and the highway, hard to go wrong at the end of a long day driving. One thing though, this one does not actually have an indoor pool. They have an agreement with a nearby place to use their pool. For adults, not a problem if you want some exercise. But I was hauling three small children and that makes pool use a headache after my day of road warrioring. I just told the kids no pool and through on a movie.
Beds rock hard and creak every time anyone moves. Room had an odor, woke up to the smell of weed, pillows were ok, but small.Only stayed for a few hours as we got in late and had to leave early. Served its purpose. (Somewhere to try and sleep, before having to continue the trip)
Advertised pool isnt at the hotel. You get to use the pool at a gym that is very close. Fortunately their bathrooms actually are in the building and not in the parking lot. Would rate this higher if it wasnt for dishonest advertising. Thanks for at least not having outhouses.
Called the hotel as soon as we were a few miles away to let them know I left something in the room and would like to retrieve it on our way back through town in a few days. Person answering said it would be held at the front desk. When we stopped by to pick it up, it was not there. Seems apparent that the cleaning people decided they liked it and kept it. Person at the desk seemed indifferent. I will not stay at BW again.
Terrible free internet -- An average hotel, with average fair. Breakfast is nothing to write home about. Beds are almost comfy. The internet has high ping variance. There is no premium wifi to compensate. Couldnt stream video predictably. Even text based sites were slow to load.
We have stayed at the Best Western in Johnson City, NY in the past, and will always stay there in the future as the opportunity arises (once or twice a year). Wonderful accommodation, good price, rewards program makes it a great price, great staff, good breakfast, comfortable, clean, convenient to get to from Rt 17, nearby restaurants, well maintained property.
The Best Western Hotel in Johnson City is a wonderful and ideal place to be at. The accommodation and staff is extremely superb, supportive and professional. I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who is going upstate NY or just staying in Johnson City or surrounding areas
The front desk staff was very rude, when I went down to the front desk to ask him a question,he wouldnt even lookup from his phone to address me or he would just make me wait Intel his text was finished.( on more than one occasion) The breakfast was cold, and they monitored how much me and my kids eat. They acted like I was not welcomed at the hotel
Hotel is very run down. There its a pool available, but it is part of an athletic club that is across the parking lot and its only available limited hours. Breakfast is pretty pathetic -- 1 or 2 hot items, cereal, toast and yogurt. No fruit, and not much of a selection of the things that are there.
👎 The shower tiles had mildew and therefore, the bathroom smelled. There was no fan in the bathroom to circulate or exhaust the moisture. Two bath towels were provided for three adults and one child for a planned booking. Only one ice machine on the property worked. It was two floors down, in high demand and the refrigerator was missing from our room so, we couldnt keep anything cold.👍 The room, bedding, bathroom counter, floor and toilet appeared clean. The hotel seemed quite full the first night of our stay but was quiet.
Not a good experience. First I was told there was a pool, we arrive and its in the YMCA type club in the parkinglot behind the hotel with only 1 hour of family swim left in the dsy, and that was if a club member wasnt using it.Then the hallways and elevators have NO air conditioning. Our rooms were ok, but 8:30 a.m. the cleaning crew was bznging on our doors and trying to get in. I had to push the doors shut and yell through that we werent checking out until 11 a.m. Then the second time they tried was an hour later, and this was AFTER I called down to the front desk to complain.I like a good desl, but I used my earned free room for one of our rooms and our experience was less then worth it.
Not what I expected from a Wyndam hotel. Front desk was nice although the girl seemed a bit confused at check in..apparently a long day. Many little things needed touching up.I wanted to look out our window but the glass had seal failure and all full of white scaling you could not see out. Hotel claims to have a pool but you need to use the gym next door. I would look for a different place if staying in Binghamton.
This place is the most perfect place in the world to stay youll love it cheap prices great rooms free Wi-Fi perfect employees all together its the most perfect Hotel you will ever stay at everybody is wonderful now the like I said peaceful and perfect for anyone even children and everybody is super polite definitely I give it 10 Stars so if youre a traveler and want to get a good night sleep and a good complimentary breakfast and have the most polite people and the cleanest and most organized rooms the Best Western is where you want to be no joke this place is one of the best hotels Ive ever stayed at dont take my word for it stay at the Best Western Plus of Johnson City New York and youll see for yourself and remember Best Western Plus great place Good Times and great people

2022-06-21Positive: Room was big Negative: Their add shows that they have a pool and continental breakfast. They didn¿t have either one. If the add was honest and said they didn¿t have those amenities, I would not have stayed there. I was misled by false advertisement.

2022-05-06This place has been closed since October 2021. Somehow the owner kept this up on the Best Western website. It allowed me to pick my room and make reservations, taking my credit card information.Best Western was able to direct me to the next closest BW.I kinda feel that BW customer service could have accommodated a little better.

2021-08-15Booked this hotel as we were traveling. It was almost midnight by the time we arrived and we were exhausted. The entry way and sitting area is nicely decorated. Front desk staff was very sweet. But that’s where it stops. The elevator to get to our room was just scary! I dont think it’s been serviced in many years. There’s not any certification papers anywhere in the elevator. So take the stairs if you do stay here. It really is very scary. The room we stayed in had been painted recently. But the carpets are nasty. Towels are disgustingly stained, looked like urine stains. The next morning we packed up and went down for the free continental breakfast. Ha! That’s a joke! They had coffee and cereal. And even that looked old and nasty. When we left hotel we realized that the people hanging in parking lot were very sketchy. It made us very uncomfortable. Definitely not a place I would ever stay again.

2021-10-05Literally the worst hotel I have ever stayed at.I went there for a family wedding. As soon as we arrived, we had to wait because they could not find our reservation which wasnt ideal as we needed to quickly change in order to get to the wedding. A moment later, another guest came down to tell the staff that he went into the room they had assigned him and guests were already in there, so he walked in on them!I then noticed my cousins sitting in the cafeteria area next to the front desk and asked them why they were out there. Turns out they got locked out of their room - their key card stopped working - and the front desk was trying to figure it out. They had already switched rooms the night prior because the first room they were put in had no hot water and a leaky ceiling.Once we got into our room it smelled like cigarettes, and I found dirt on the carpet, a white stain on the bedspread, and short hairs in the shower and on the bathroom floor near the toilet. Towels had yellow tinge to them. We opted not to shower and my mom actually slept in her sleeping bag on top of the covers. We also found an empty hotel-branded envelope on the TV stand with a womans name written on it Clearly whoever turned down the room didnt pay much attention. When we arrived back to the hotel after the wedding, there was a ton of white powder on the floor outside of one of the other rooms and a vacuum next to it. In the morning, the vacuum was gone but the powder was still there. The elevator was dismal and had no fire/emergency panel/signs. Other family members noted they had issues with the elevator closing very abruptly, and opted to take the stairs (which had a caution wet stairs on the stairwell door). Also worth mentioning that the room door does not automatically close. It stays open unless you pull it closed behind you. I thought it was a requirement that hotel doors automatically shut behind you for safety reasons.Every person I spoke to who stayed there had nothing but terrible things to say about it. STAY ANYWHERE BUT HERE!
