Sushi Palace in other cities:
Our waitress with a bob was absurdly terrible in terms of attitude, told us that if we had a problem with her we should take it up with management. I regret the tip I left, the woman needs to be fired. Food was average, service was horrid. Decent price point for AYCE but you order at the risk of the karen waitress attacking you.“Can’t you see I’m the only one working here? If you have a problem with my attitude you can file a complaint, nothing will happen to me”
OK so this is a tough review cause the food was decent enough but the service stunk, and it takes a lot for me to say that. Firstly they wouldnt give us enough menus for our party of six (we had to ask twice for more even though the place was empty). Waitress was nice but she had a really hard time understanding our order ( language barrier). They brought out the wrong sushi twice, ignored request for an eight piece cut, brought my meal out a full fifteen minutes after everyone else, and didnt refill our waters once. Im sure it was just an off day, maybe training new staff, but if they were this off-the-mark when we were the only guests I wont risk it again. Pad Thai was tasty though.
Ive been here so many times during the last 10 years (except last 2 years) but never feel that bad like today. Ive waited for more than 10 min for the server come to take my order. My daughter accidentally dropped her chopsticks and we asked for a new pair, and the server lady dropped it on our table from the air, I understand shes holding a lot of stuffs but not dropping the chopsticks. Missing order is not a new thing here. Conclusion, you must be patient enough to dine in here.
I had the most horrifying waitress last night. She had a serious attitude issue and her service was beyond terrible. She snaps at you when you asked for tea or extra napkins or more menu sheet to order more . I regret so much that I tipped her in advance . She does not deserve to be tipped when she has an attitude toward customers. Well I asked for more Tea, she had the nerve to yell back and said can’t you see I’m the only one on the floor. When I told her she had an attitude issue she replied(Report me then ) . Obviously she doesn’t care about her job. I don’t have to go back to the restaurant again but I feel sorry for the owner who hired her to work there . She’s the Bob haircut style woman not sure if she’s the boss. Either way that’s the best way of losing customer. We still tipped her 15% which we shouldn’t even give her a penny.
I dont normally say this but homage.Sushi palace has become a tradition for many New Yorkers in the 21st century. The servers are corteous, but the restaurant gets busy every now and then, so their service is slowed. This normally isnt a problem. In the past, I used to complain the food quality being inconsistent to others, but the food now is a lot better than the past. The buffet options at Sushi Palace are similar to those of other sushi buffet restaurants and this does not set it aside. What sets Sushi Palace aside from the rest of the sushi buffets is its low price and value.
👍Service is good. Could be better.👎All you can eat lunch is $24.99👍looks and feels clean.👍👎Food is okay. I didnt like the sushi. The rice was not soft, or tasty. The beef ribs are very good. Shrimp was good. Sashimi very good and fresh.👎👎👎👎The workers make you feel uncomfortable. (( speaking in Chinese and laughing))
We were there this past Sunday for an early dinner after a fun beach day. There were two waitresses on duty and the one without a pony tail had extremely bad service and attitude which ruined our great mood for the day. She walked away a couple of times without letting us finished with our orders/requests. When we called her back to finished ordering she said in an annoyed tone to complained why didn’t we finished our ordering all at once? We would loved to if she hadn’t walked away without us finished with our orders. At the end some items were missing after multiple requests but we didn’t bother to ask her again due to her unpleasant attitude. It sadden me to leave this review because I know this place for over 10 years and I was happy to see this place made it thru the pandemic. But I will not go back with this kind of customer service.
I enjoy dining at sushi palace. The place isnt fancy but the sushi is delicious, fresh and plenty!Sushi Palace offers an all you can eat dining experience for a reasonable price. There is no skimping on the sushi rolls and it is all delicious. You can get a variety of hot items from the kitchen. Tonight I ordered the shrimp tempura, beef rib and the barbecued squid. YumMy sushi order was a Godzilla, rainbow and spicy roll along with a variety of sashimi pieces. Needless to say, Im stuffed!Ive always enjoyed my dinner here and so will you!
They ran out of fluke for dinner on Sunday. Other than that, good fish, good rolls, good tempura for a reasonable price. I like that you order by checking off what you want on a sheet of paper and the servers bring the food to the table. Helps to eat slower and enjoy my food more.
Prices keep going up. My family has been faithful to this place, but last time we got a fly cooked with the teriyaki sauce. The manager just said: Sorry we left the doors open. No discount applied to our check. Sometimes staff shows total disregard for you. Sorry to say its not the place it used to be!
Unprofessional, their food tastes below average now. They also increased the price. They show you a pointing finger asking you to wait few minutes if you ask for a quick help at the table. I personally watched them do this to almost all the tables. They treat customers like they dont care if we dont go back. I have been a customer for years but now the new waitresses act like they are from Paradise.
I Enjoyed their all you can eat option. Because there is just so much you can eat, I enjoyed assorted sushi and rolls from their extensive menu. I enjoyed a tasting of appetizers, and focused on variety rather than quantity, although I did consume enough of an assortment. My focus was enjoying the meal, rather than being an episode of Man v. Food.It is Best to go with a couple of friends so you can order different rolls. The rolls come in quantities of six and eight, so as one person you could only get one or two, but with a group, you can have a great variety of a selection. The big surprise at the end of my satiated night was the fried Oreo. I just got one. At first bite, you are not sure, but with each successive taste, it gets better and better, until the last bite leaves you craving for more. They should be a controlled substance. After eating an assortment of food, I forced myself to end the evening wisely, or I could have had half a dozen more of this delicious surprise; Fried like tempura with a moist delicious chocolate interior, it tasted like an exquisite chocolate lava cake. I am Looking forward to coming here again. My colleague on this adventure was a vegetarian, who easily found enough options. He had the restraint to not sinfully indulge in the fried Oreos after enjoying a feast and so was able to miss the gym the next day, I gladly payed my dues for a dessert well worth it.
I almost not visit here due to the bad review but decided why not to try. The food is good for its price. The service is not that bad. This is not the fancy restaurant but it is all you can eat and the do not limit the time. So if you are not in hurry and need the unlimited food while having a long conversation with family and friends, come here!
Been there maybe 9 years. Its all you can eat sushi place which is fantastic. However items I check on paper usually 50 percent dont get it right. Which is ok too but bit of frustration left behind afterwards. Staffs are not as friendly as they can be. They can do better if they want do more business.
The food is good, but the bathroom is really small and smells really bad. I really liked the candy they had at the front desk but I noticed whenever someone took a piece the person at the front desk would stare at them. I mean that’s the point of having candy in the front, so people can take it! The sushi is good but I got sick after eating something from there. Miso soup is terrible but the udon is actually really good also the beef. I have only went here once.
Sushi was good, the waitress and waiter we had were terrible though. Kept asking if we were ready for dessert about 5 minutes after our food arrived. Took 10 minutes for them to bring my cousin a fork. We did arrive about an hour before closing, however thats no way to serve your customers. They were also very loud with other fellow waiters and waitresses screaming and throwing themselves around in the corner, who knows what they could be doing to my food 😞. Our group was the only one there at the time.
Well its a bit of a ride from me, but if I have that sushi monster craving and want a pallet of sushi, this is where I go. This place gets so jammed on weekends your guaranteed a wait (usually only 15-30 min) So many people come here they dont know my name but they know my face and prepare for the onslaught. The all you can eat is around twenty dollars and boy do you get your moneys worth. Theres five chefs you can see behind the sushi bar rattling out rolls as fast as they can making service here super fast! When you fill out your first order sheet for one person, your getting what you ordered in less than three minutes tops. This is their lettuce logic (constantly have food in front of the customer; your getting your food faster so your eating faster with the mindset of this is all you can eat Im living here this week!) Then you blink and you have to loosen your belt to roll out of the place. Thats why halfway home everyone in the car wants to turn around and go back!
I went there last night for a date, I go there at least once a week, and I’m recognizable, I always order 5 salmon avocado rolls and 2 Godzilla rolls so I’m not waiting a half hour for them to make. They bring out 1 of each and when I ask when the rest of the food is coming, they say there was nothing left on the all you can eat sheet.... really... you didn’t see a 5 and a 2, but saw two 1s? I waited an extra 45 min bc of this which is unacceptable. The fact that this isn’t the first time is now the reason I will no longer waste my time at this place. Wasn’t given a reason why I didn’t get my order, just shrugged It off and made me wait 45 min for another 4 rolls when there was only one other table... pathetic. Go to Masago it’s the same prices as sushi palace, better quality and the service isn’t trash. It’s legit 2 min down the road from palace
Not a bad All You Can Eat Japanese place in Great Neck. The sushi/sashimi generally tastes fresh, and they give you nice sized slices of fish. The other menu items are hit or miss, and sometimes indicating one on an item will get you one order consisting of 4 pieces of beef while another time youll get exactly one piece of beef. The service is not bad, although they dont seem to communicate with each other as someone will ask what you want to drink 10 seconds after another person just took your drink order. Id say its above average, hence the 4 stars, and I dont mind coming here fairly regularly.
This place is all you can eat buffet at la carte. Their sushi was fresh and very attentive staffs. There was so many variety to chose from. You order and they bring it to you. At least you know the sushi was not seating there for a long time or someone touch it and decided to put it back. It is only 21 dollars for weekend, so please dont compare some of the high expensive restaurants that you ever went to. I had a party of 3 people and we didnt have to wait that long. I recommend this place.
Nice place and tasty food. Reasonably priced for an all you can eat Japanese restaurant. They do serve beer and wine but they ALSO allow BYOB! WOW! The sushi and sashimi is always fresh and made to order! Their teriyaki and kitchen items are very good too. Dont over order or you will be penalized f ok r uneaten food at regular price to take home. Easy and ample parking in the back. Weekends are very busy. You should call ahead if you need a large table.
Since there are many similar names, I want to be specific to refer the review to Sushi Palace at 148 Middleneck Road in Great Neck. I hope (actually I beg) the owner/management to read the reviews and makes some improvements! This place in the PAST was a 4-5 stars between value, food, and service. Now its only good value only if you can deal with the poor service that comes with good food.First the positives:Good value - AYCE price range of $22-$24 plus tax and tips depending on weekdays versus weekends. It has a combination of hot appetizers and sushi/sashimi orders.Good food - This isnt a fancy joint like with $100 omakase, please dont expect that. For the most part the sashimi, sushi, are good quality and they arent HEAVY on the rice (wink). The hot food has enough variety with some hits and misses. But thats assuming you get what you actually ordered. They often forget certain items on the list. I take photos of my order sheets and reference them.Saving the negatives for last (for the management):Horrible service - the order takers, servers, busboy/busgirls all need to be addressed by management. Perhaps its cultural or language barrier, but for a start, please put on some SMILES! If you dont like your job, dont work there. My constructive advice:1) SMILE and think of each happy customer $ in your wallet, and possibly a returning customer (seems like they hired all the unhappy faces)2) LISTEN to your customer on basic things like if they want tea or water (ice or not), fork, knives, etc (I always ask for green tea and Im given water, and it takes 2-3 attempts to get it)3) KNOW your customers by asking have you been here before? The regular customers will usually be ready to order in 5 minutes) and the new ones will tend to have more questions.4) COMMUNICATE often and let them know you will back with the beverage, food, refills, check, etc.5) NEVER IGNORE your customers especially hungry ones. I have managed raise my hand and look me in the eye 3-5 times during my visit and to have them walk right past me.6) ORDERS should be 90% accurate, not 75%. You should really try to fix this with your sushi chef and COMMUNICATE if things run out. Its really silly for customers to re-order items and to find out its NEVER coming.7) ASK your customers DO YOU NEED ANYTHING ELSE? before you walk away. If they want the bill, get them the bill immediately because its an open table for the next group.TIPS for vegetarian - check out the a la carte menu. Their avocado rolls, peanut avocado rolls, kanpyo rolls are great bargain values since its unlikely a vegetarian can down more than 5 rolls (30 pieces) in one sitting. If vegetarians order the AYCE, you have cold sesame noodles, ice berg lettuce salad, seaweed salad, vegetable gyoza, vegetable tempura, teriyaki tofu, vegetable udon, and the sushi rolls.Im happy to answer any questions...
The sushi is good and the kitchen itemsAlso top notch but the service could be better.I Like to go for all you can eat , it seems sometimesThey forget to bring you all you order or request. The ambiance is a bit lacking and can be a loudEnvironment when it’s busy. Go hungry!
This is a great place to go with a group! You can order different things like sushi, soup, salad, and ice cream all for one price about $25 tax and tip. I loved the GODZILLA roll and GREEN TEA ice cream. I loved being able to order things from sushi to chicken teriyaki and pay one price.
Sushi palace is a favorite among my friends because its buffet option is convenient and affordable priced in comparison to other Sushi buffets. The quality of the sushi is pretty great and the service is fast since its a quiet place. Its honestly my go to place since its hard not to like their variety.
Came in , not only did the waiter spill water all over the table and on our phones but didn’t say sorry nor did they fully clean it . There was flies in our sauce . To some guest they would bring them all the food they ordered and for us they brought only some we ordered!!!!! Sheets were also throw on us!!!! Insane and we paid 80$ for that ......
Food is ok, service is not very good. food came out cold and not even warm. I had wait along time for our food. They need more help. I paid in cash, they gave our bill to wrong table with our money. I to track our money down. They gave us wrong change. They need more help.
FOOD POISONING. I truly had a terrible time here, the food took an eternity to arrive, it was almost all cold. The service was atrocious and the worst part about it was i got home and puked 6 times and got ptsd for any sushi Whatever you do PLEASE DONT ORDER ANYTHING TO DO WITH SQUID OR OCTOPUS, YOULL REGRET IT.
Terrible service never got what i order, the sheets have been thrown at me and the waitress spilled water all over my phone and just walkes away didnt even bother cleaning up the table. Than i have found a fly in my sauce and they acussed me of putting it in there. TERRIBLE SERVICE TERRIBLE RESTAURANT

2021-10-16A very nice sushi buffet that is fairly priced. There’s plenty of options to choose from ranging from sashimi, appetizers, soups and noodles, and sushi rolls. The desserts are great as well. Service is great and quick. Parking is available outside in the back. Bathroom is available. I would come again if I’m in the area.

2021-08-24Updated review after coming here a second time within a week period.Went here twice during different days of the week and different times, once during the week for a late lunch and once on a Friday night during higher customer volume during dinner hours. So, I just have a couple of things to say.1. The price for the all-you-can-eat option is reasonable in terms of Great Neck. 2 to 3 people seems like an ideal amount of people to go here.2. Sushi is fresh.3. Not a comfortable dining experience.A. Not greeted, nor left with with a friendly response from the restaurant host.B. There seems to be pushiness to eat and leave, whether it is when no one is there or during dinner hours when people want to enjoy longer meals. The check wallet was thrown onto our table without much of any spoken word to let us know.C. There is no mindful eye on patrons, which happened to me and other tables I witnessed, in regards to offering more drinks or refilling water. My friends and I, who had our phones down, hands on the table, and looking around did not receive immediate attention.D. Waiters are consistently dismissive, whether you call out to them or hold up your hand for service. Its very embarrassing and rude. Took very long to actually leave the restaurant because of the inattentiveness.4. Food very oily, including the gyoza. Disappointed in the taste. Also, the mushroom soup was, to put it lightly, also a disappointment (see photos)5. Even though both times my experience was a party of 2, we tipped 20% the first time and 15% the second time, as a courtesy according to their receipt.I personally will not be coming here again. This is not the kind of service I expected, especially during dinner hours. Will be looking into other restaurants within the town of similar cuisine.

2022-06-11Great little restaurant in the downtown area; their specialty is all-you-can-eat sushi. Pretty good bento boxes at a good price for lunch - available with cooked food and sushi. Plenty of metered parking behind it.

2021-01-10Good selection of options from fresh sushi to hot plates from the kitchen. We ordered a little bit of everything and it all tasted good... except the peppered tuna. I have no idea if I got a couple bad pieces or of it was supposed to taste that way lol, but man that was bad. Everything else was delicious, so maybe it was just me not liking it personally.

2022-01-09It’s has been 2 years since we came here last time. The dinner was pretty good except there is one lady with short here kept rushing people to leave. We have called the restaurant before we went there, making sure they are closed at 10:30 pm on Sunday. We got there around 8:50. We chose all you can eat option. When we tried to make our first order. There was nobody come to take the order. So we had to go ask one of the waitress to take the order. The food was coming pretty quick, we got our food around 9:20. Before we finish The food, the lady with the short hair came to ask us to share the fish in the our plate. So she could take the plate away. At the same time, we gave her our second time order. She was very inpatient, and said ‘that’s it, right?’ Then walked away. The food came pretty quick as usual. Not long after we got the food. She would keep coming to your table to check if there is any finished plates. It felt like she’s rushing you to finish and leave. She did it to all other 2 tables too. So we quickly finished our food and left. It was not even 10pm yet, which they told on the phone they were going to close at 10:30. The food was good. But they lady’s service made our dinner very unpleasant. Specially when I asked for one more cup of tea. The look that she gave was disgusting. This is the last time we will come to here. Never ever again.

2021-12-24I will avoid a busy Saturday evening visit from now on. A simple request to warm an eel avocado hand roll was not performed. Rice on all sushi is hard cold.To be fair, price is still reasonable. However, during pandemic (Omicron), I didnt go out for supermarket quality frozen sushi.

2021-08-28Parking in back is 9 am - 6 pm metered for four hour parking limit. our group of seven went for a 6 pm reservation and it wasnt crowded then and our apps came within 10-15 minutes, and then the food came another 10-15 minutes after. second round of sushi and apps came quicker. third round was a smaller and final round for us, but by then the whole place was packed so understandably our dessert and final round came later than anticipated. mens bathroom is a single toilet/private bathroom.

2020-02-08Have been coming here for years, fair price and selection for a all you can eat style sushi restaurant.
