Very nice store, cozy and CS was amazing.Though I have tasted better salmon, was kind of blaw tasting, was fresh but missing that fish spice it some salt and pepper.Manged to eat the roll, the sauces made up for it. And the fries were delicious. Nice and hot.The people behind the counter were also very helpful and accommodating.Definitely recommended to anyone looking for a snack, supper or a place to relax for a bite out. A+
I ordered a Classic Vegetable Roll + oshinko ( exactly how I order it at the other Sushi Tokyo locations ).. they brought it out to me with the rice on the outside of the roll having something pink on it & something green / yellow ( not wasabi ) pretty much rubbed all over it and a stench that I figured was some sort of fish and something else. So I informed the guy working there that I was pregnant and couldn’t have raw fish on my food, which never even should’ve been on a vegetable roll anyways / nor would I have eaten it even if I wasn’t pregnant, and that I didn’t mind paying for 2 more rolls instead of these. He proceeds to take it behind the counter, remove whatever was visible to the eye & bring me back the same plate. All while wiping his fingers on a napkin explaining to me how they “ just removed it , it was just a little fish “ ( with the same hands that had been handling the phone / register ). I asked him to just take it away and I was no longer interested in ordering, he then says “ oh so it’s serious ? “ .. no sir, I’m faking my pregnancy & not being able to eat raw fish for fun. I won’t ever be returning to this location ever again. No second chances with stupidity. Highly recommend the Flushing & Brooklyn locations, check those out instead !
Very good Sushi with good fast service. The classic salad is a good sushi salad with lots of fish in it. The fried ice cream is not worth it. It looks like they take some fried batter and put it around the non dairy ice cream rather than actually frying real ice cream.
This place... Is amazing. I was so surprised. The people are amazingly nice. We came in from Toronto and the service was excellent, the owner is a really nice guy, and the food.... Some of the best sushi Ive ever had. Highly recommend ordering the Rock N Roll from the menu. Awesome place.
Work in the area, my coworkers and I order often from Sushi Tokyo and not only its the best sushi around, its the best sushi Ive ever had. The fish is always fresh, the platters are amazing!!! Delicious and super well presented... The staff is always pleasant and accomodating. You can order over the phone or online, and I love it that they deliver even in Far Rockaway.
If I could give negative stars... I would give -5 stars called to place order said they close 1am.. said I have to arrive in 5 minutes or they will close. the lady on the phone had a attitude. and very rude... she also hung up. bad customer service and probably garbage sushi
I ordered three things. Very basic things and only one of them was sub par. Miso soup is the most basic thing to make and some how it was disgusting. My stomach cringes at the idea of eating their food. The service was also not great. She came over literally once other than to take and deliver our food. I didnt get a total, they just took my card and charged me. If I could give this place no stars I would. Wont be coming back
4/27/18 - Absolutely Disgusted With This Place. I wish they would let me leave 0 stars.I placed an order on 4/26 at 5:01 with an estimated delivery time of 5:31-5:55pm. 7:00pm comes around and there is still no delivery and no contact from the restaurant so I call for an update. The staff asks for my order and begins to tell me that they just spoke with the delivery guy and the food is on the way. Ok.......7:35pm comes around and there is still no delivery and no update from the restaurant or the delivery person so I call them again. This time, the person on the phone tells me that he just spoke to his delivery guy and he is on the way if he isnt already there. So I respond with well no clearly hes not here thats why Im on the phone looking for an update and that I called 30 minutes ago and was told the same thing the delivery guy is almost there. But still, the person on the other line proceeded to just say he is almost there (mind you the food was supposed to be delivered almost 2 hours ago so Im not sure why there was no acknowledgement of that fact either).8:01pm comes and of course there is still no food delivery and no contact from the restaurant or the delivery person. So now I contact Seamless because something seems off. Our rep at Seamless apologizes for the delay and contacts the restaurant directly to get an update on the order. They tell her the same story that the delivery guy is on the way and should be walking outside to my apartment. So she actually sits on the phone with me for 10 minutes while we wait and of course...nothing or no one shows up. She apologizes again and tells me we have the option to continue to wait and we could receive free grub (maybe $10 off our next order at the same disaster of a restaurant) or we could get a refund. At this point, it is 3 hours past when I ordered and when it was supposed to be delivered so my dinner plans with my guests were ruined so I just ask her to get us a refund. She proceeds to put me on hold again to call Sushi Toyko back and to ask for a manager and my refund. A few minutes later she comes back and lets me know that 1. there is no manager at the store tonight, 2. They werent going to give me a refund and 3. Now they are claiming that the food was delivered and Im just lying about it.Yes, Im lying about the food being delivered when it STILL shows that its out for delivery and each time I call or Seamless the store still says the delivery person is on the way.This whole experience was and still is absolutely absurd and luckily our seamless rep was able to help us. She even noted how ridiculous the entire situation was and that she saw we ordered from this place 1-2 a week for the past months (with orders of at least $50 or more).Seamless processed my refund.
This used to be my favorite sushi place. Then they felt the need to get better technology and everything went straight down hill from there.Now you have to look at an ipad for a menu (for what reason?). It doesnt work right, so it is an exercise in frustration just trying to use it. And all the prices went up due to their investment into these stupid things that dont even work. What ever happened to paper menus?They reduced the size of the menu, and when they switched it to using the iPad, they made it even more confusing.All I can say about Sushi Tokyo now is they used to be good.....now they suck.Oh and I forgot to mention above - no matter how many people you have to sit down with, they rip you for a required tip for a large party - even if you are only 2 people. Leaving you no choice but to tip even if the service sucks.
Food is probably good like all the reviews state however Ill never know because I will never go again. Clearly listed as open until 1am on their website and every google page. Clearly states open late sushi spot . Took 25 mins to drive from queens to get there at 10:30 and be told sorry were closed. Smh. Sucks!
So Im currently sitting here while the servers walk by my wife and I without saying anything. We are exactly two minutes from getting up and walking out....this place is a joke. Was thinking about lighting a ciggarette in here to get their attention. To add to this mess...they completely botched my order. Safe to say Im traumatized.
Ordered food was told it would come in 45 to an hour... two and a half hours and 5 phone calls later it still hasn’t come, not to mention was put on hold for over 10 minutes for each phone call, horrible service. I honestly don’t even want to give them one star, they don’t deserve it. 11/10 wont come again. Can’t get food from a store where getting ur food isn’t a guarantee

2022-03-02Consistency is super important in sushi and this place has it down pat! Love their rolls, and very fresh fish. My own personal experience with staff is hit and miss - usually calling in an order involves an obscene amount of elevator music from long hold times or being hung up on completely. Sometimes I don’t want to order on an app and just want to speak to a human to get some delicious sushi in my belly. I hope that can improve! Also my own experience, when dining in, sometimes they don’t have normal things like ice and dessert. Hope they get that fixed as well! But, overall, good rolls and fresh fish and I’ll be back!

2022-06-15This is a fantastic establishment. Ive been coming here for over 10 years and they consistently have the freshest fish and the most accommodating staff. I have brought friends who eat sushi from places without a hechsher and they have confirmed that this place is holding in all aspects of a sushi establishment.

2021-06-24Sushi cravings took us there. Just needed to get out instead of ordering in. They have all you can eat sushi which we chose. Fresh, made to order. Miso soup was great. Fast service, they give you 2 hours to eat but we were in and out within an hour.

2022-05-18It was 5 stars but the quality has decline over the past few months. Still the best kosher sushi in the area so I will continue coming.Best bang for your buck! I would suggest this place to others.

2021-04-26Alright/ Decent sushi if youre desperate, barely makes the cut. Too much rice, not enough fish or flavor. Rice layer around sushi was very thick as you can see. Spicy tuna was a bit bland, didnt look too appetizing since it was so grey. We had a roll of sushi where one had some weird pink substance on it so we just threw it away. You cant even see many individual grains of rice, maybe they compounded the rice into a paste or something.

2022-03-10Biggest garbage experience ever.Being one of the only two tables seated at the restaurant it took almost a 20 minutes for a highchair to be brought out to us for my son.After that it was almost another 20 minutes until someone came to take our order apologizing saying the waitress left and they didn’t know. All the meanwhile walkins that came to the restaurant to order after we were seated were being serviced.The food quality was awful and their Kani salad was like chewing on rubber masked with a light amount of mayonnaise. When I let the manager know, he suggested adding more mayo.I’d rather of gotten gas station sushi. At least their price would reflect their quality.Additionally, they have the audacity to include tip in their bill after having provided garbage service.This place should be paying people to eat there. Not the other way around.

2022-05-29Service is amazing, the staff is always super friendly and the food is tasty and fresh, the atmosphere is pleasant, I always enjoy going ordering from there whether its to dine in or out.

2022-02-06The sushi is disgusting. Went in there Saturday night and its nothing like the Sushi Tokyo in Brooklyn . It was worse than buying sushi in a gas station! Just trust me its nasty 🤢
