We had the honor of having Chef Takuma Yonemaru serve us at our first dining experience at Sushi Zo Hanare. We’ve also dined at Sushi Zo in LA multiple times and can say the overall quality is easily met. What we enjoyed most about Hanare was interacting with Chef Taku as well as having a pleasant and friendly staff which were very attentive. At first all the groups kept to themselves but as the dinner progressed we all slowly opened up. Sure, the alcohol probably helped speed up this process. The quality of the ingredients are exceptional as well as the attention to detail that went into plating each dish. The overall dinner took the full 2.5 hours and every minute was enjoyable.I highly recommend Sushi Zo Hanare!
We love to go out. Yesterday we visited this excellent place which we didn’t know before. We passed a lovely evening there with first-rate food and a professional team and a talented cook. We added this fine restaurant in our list and we will surely come back soon. Highly recommended.
Where do I even begin...after having the omakase at Sushi Zo I had a flurry of emotion. Strange feelings like guilt arrived ...why cant everyone in the world experience this?. And then Chef Taku presented each and every course with such fun and generosity I wondered...what did I do to deserve this? Why isnt more of this generosity present in the world around us? When a meal, like a good movie, makes you question how you can be a better person tomorrow...you know one thing for certain...its magic. Sometimes - parents brag that they can turn on a Disney movie and there kids will watch it all day and cause no trouble. But the parents dont understand that the child is experiencing a feeling they no longer can feel. Unless you have a meal at Sushi Zo...go find that feeling.

2021-11-12Dined at Sushi Zo Hanare on a thursday evening:)There are many omakase spots in NYC and we considered many other places before choosing Sushi Zo; but I am so glad we ended up deciding to come here!I loved that there were more appetizer courses before the nigiris started. Uni tasting was so good and every single bite was delicious.I could tell that the ingredients were high quality and selected carefully. I enjoyed generous use of uni and truffle, as well as excellent pieces of wagyu and tuna.Although the nigiri pieces are not very big, we definitely left full and satisfied after all the courses. We will definitely come back and would recommend this place to friends without hesitation.Thank you to all the chefs and staff for a wonderful experience!

2021-05-13This sushi restaurant is not large, but it is decorated as exquisitely as any other sushi restaurant, and the details are in place. There are only two chefs with eight seats and at most eight guests every two hours. However, the sushi he makes is rich and rich in flavor, and it doesnt taste fishy. It feels very cool. In particular, the sushi rice tastes sweet and raw fish form a perfect fusion, add some sauce plum ah, dried radish diced and other accessories, increase the sense of layers, memorable!I wanted to take a picture of each course, but I missed 2 courses because I was too devoted to the delicious food. Its a pity! The next time will come again.

2020-02-22An absolutely amazing experience! Their Omakase was beautifully and creatively presented and loved all of them. The chefs were very friendly and had the best hospitality. This place has only 8 seats so enjoyed my private, intimate experience! I hope to go back soon!

2019-03-29Great sushi for a special occasion. The chefs are more laid back and funny than what you normally encounter at other places of a similar price point t. The uni tasting alone makes this worth a visit. Make sure you think carefully about your favorite one too...

2022-02-13My partner stayed up til midnight so that he could make a reservation here for Valentine’s Day. We were so excited when we got it. But then got a text message saying that there was a seating error on Resy and we would be rescheduled for 845 (the second seating). This wouldn’t have been so bad except that a week later (4 days before the reservation), they texted saying that they couldn’t honor our reservation. A text!! They offered only a complimentary beverage if we would choose to dine with them (but there was no offer to help us make the reservation more easily—so this would mean we’d have to stay up again at midnight to book another reservation???) Honestly I am incredibly disappointed and offended by the lack of effort from the restaurant when they have made it so difficult to book the reservation—I would have at least expected a phone call and an offer on the phone to reschedule us. This is truly awful quality of service from a very respectable restaurant.

2019-06-08A bit pricey, about $300+ a head, but you get what you pay for., high end ingredients from start to finish. You just have to treat yourself every now, and then.
