Sweet Lous is a hidden gem of a foodie spot. Fantastic sandwich options and huge portions and fair prices. Everthing made from scratch. Great value. I got the chicken parmesan sandwich despite wanting to try half the menu. Its the best Ive had in a long time, maybe ever. The sandwich was so big and messy I almost had to eat with a fork and knife. Almost. Guy Fieri would be proud, I could easily see him doing triple D here with Chef Lou.
Sweet Lous did not disappoint!! I havent been there in 3 years (when they first opened) and the food and the atmosphere is better than I remembered! The fresh pulled mozzarella logs ...😋...the hand cut fries dipped in his delicious cheese sauce 👍👍we both also had the Sweet Lous sandwich..... on perfectly toasted homemade rye bread 😇 like heaven! Not to mention the homemade mint tea made with local fresh mint by the barista/waitress, who was just delightful, the mint tea was delicious 😋😊
A little hole in the wall, a great deli/bistro that needs to put the words lunch & dinner on their sign. We ordered a sandwich and it came out with a knife buried to the hilt upright, that big. It was divine and will definitely order it again. Ordered a chicken meal for two and it came out on a paella pan. The chicken was on top of toasted bread and the pasta was in the pan. Delicious.
We got lucky and travelled 25 minutes by way of Googles recommendation with this absolute gem. Lous the consummate chef, his attention to detail with every single ingredient is perfection. We even had the fried dough for dessert because of my childhood Catholic feast obsession. We finished with delite, satifaction guaranteed and made a reservation for Saturday night(Prime Rib Special). Cant wait.
Visited on a whim. Doesnt look like much from the outside but the food is just divine. We had the Reuben and the Fran the Narc. Never been a corned beef fan but when the chef described how they season and slow roast their own and that every element was made by them from scratch, I knew I had to try it. Not an ounce of fat anywhere, shaved corned beef piled high with insanely good garlic pickles on the best rye bread ever. The chef delivered our meals directly to our table and checked back and asked it there was anything he could do to make it better. Honestly couldnt think of one thing I would change (except maybe wet naps.....it was a little messy). Super glad we didnt make a decision based on the exterior....the aroma alone pulled us in.
2nd time to Sweet Lous, just as good as the first visit. We were there for lunch so it was not busy. Pastrami sandwich never disappoints. Seasoned perfectly, wonderful toasted, buttered bread. Turkey sandwich equally good. We drive 2.5 hours to the area periodically, always plan to go to Sweet Lous!
Sweet Lous Deli was phenomenal. Everything from specialty Deli sandwiches to Sumptuous handcrafted meals.5 stars all the way.We enjoyed the hand breaded Mozzarella Logs with yummy Marinara sauce. These logs were mouthwatering and so gooey. Definitely a must to experience. Our main course was their Saturday special Prime rib for 2. We left with a box containing enough rib for another night.Loved the cozy atmosphere. Chef Lou and his lovely wife Donna made us feel right at home. The service and meal timing was flawless. Thank you so much.
Found Lou’s when looking for places for our anniversary. Reviews are extraordinary, so expectations were high. They were met.Got mozzarella logs, homemade fries, Princess Abby, and Eastwood. All were excellent. Obvious that great care and effort go into making everything.Besides great food, were taken good care of by Lou and his daughter. Got roasted pork loin dinner to go. It was wonderful as well.Believe the reviews and go.
The food was amazing....they serve dinners for 2 if you want....Its a very unique, cool place to eat....nothing fancy, very rustic ...The owners are extremely nice...The Chef Sweet Lou came to visit our table, the entire staff were very nice!! You wont be sorry if you visit here...Cant wait to go back!!
This place is not to be missed. The food was plentiful and delicious and the staff, including chef, delightful and welcoming. The chef brines his own pastrami and corn beef and both are rapturous. I honestly cant say enough positive things. Go and eat, you will not regret it.
I was traveling around and came across this place and its a amazing. If you are a foodie you must try this place. They have mozzarella logs are they are huge! Their mac and cheese is awesome too, large shells with lots of cheese. I swear this is Schuylervilles secret.
Hometown cooking at its best!I agree with previous reviewer, its like eating at a friends house who is a Master Chef.Quality ingredients, made well and not mass produced.Easy access, with off street parking in the rear. Chef Lou and his staff are very friendly and accommodating.Worth the trip! Well be back.
This place is amazing, every word of the hype is true. The 14-hour pulled pork is hands down the best Ive ever had. I had it in a quesadilla with cheese and caramelized onions....my goodness, magical. My grandfather was a huge fan as well, we wi definetly be back for more! Thanks, Lou!!
The owners ( sweet Lou and his wife) were absolutely amazing. The dinner was full of taste and flavor. Salad bar was very fresh and plenty to choose from. The home made ITALIAN dressing was incredible. If you want a really great dinner, you have to try Lous. You will be glad you did. Oh, bring your appetite.
Such a great vibe and the food was fantastic. The seafood chowder has the whole ocean in it!!! Lou and Donna were so cheerful and you can tell they put their heart and soul into everything there. Even brought us a sample of their hand stretched, in house battered mozzarella sticks and they were SO good. Not sure if I can even bring myself to order mozzarella sticks anywhere else again because I know for a fact they wont even touch the quality and taste of the ones made here. Cant wait to come back!
One of the best sandwiches I have ever had - grilled meatloaf -everything so fresh! My son had the Reuben - homemade sauerkraut and we shared homemade, soft, chunky, breadstick-size pretzels with homemade queso and tomato chunks. A meal in itself! If you are in New York State - heck, if you are on the east coast get over here. Lovely, welcoming atmosphere!

2021-04-22This was our first time here. Service was prompt and personable. The chef came out a couple times to ask How are our food was. The waitress was very attentive. The food, omg so delicious. Those mozzarella sticks were the best we’ve ever had ( better than Old Byran Inn) so big.Hubby and I both went with corn beef sandwiches. Mine also had pastrami, delicious. I brought most of mine home. Couldn’t resist eating both my mozzarella sticks. We’re definitely going back 😋

2021-05-31This place is amazing. I love their motto I would rather serve great food on a plastic plate, then good food on china Chef Lou . The picture below is the most Schmackin pulled pork Mac and cheese I have had in the area🤤OOOOF😮💨The Chics Dream “leftover thanksgiving sandwich” is to die for. The Friendly service, unique atmosphere and desserts are just just as great!

2021-04-02Love this place. The Penzer Eastwood ( Ruben samwich) and the Richardson Loch Ness ( pulled pork samwich) are amazingly full of flavor and must weigh a pound each. Trying the Prime rib dinner for 2 next week.
