Stressed and desserts spelled backwards!Highlights of the menu:1 Le Miel - The honey. MUST EAT2. Green ice teaA very sweet spot for desserts and a place to chill in the heart of New York. The blue theme color pops out the store from the street. They have very cute outdoor seatings with flower decoration that is photogenic. The interior is very beautiful with tea sets and variety of different desserts. I couldn’t find an interior spot but when I go inside for interior photos, there were some people leaving and offered to take a photo for me at their table! That’s very nice of them and it was a cute shot. Next time I’m in town, I’ll sure to wait for a table!
A lovely place to end up for the night :) we got some tea and dessert and had a nice chat in great ambience. Definitely worth the splurge. Their well known for the La Miel but we found it too sweet with all the extra honey/honeycomb on top. We much preferred the lemon yuzu tart which had more flavors that worked well together.
Le Miel is definitely the best item in the store, especially the honeycomb on the top! The second best is the mango jar with very well-balanced flavors. The lemon & yuzu tart is also pretty good but not as impressive as Le Miel. Although the series of Mille Feuille is very beautiful / Instagrammable, I find the ratio of the cream on the top and the Mille feuille a bit off to me - too much cream on the top. The dulce de leche jar is too sweet for me, and I think it might need some other flavors to balance it out. Overall, it’s a very good dessert store that I’ll definitely come back. It’s a bit on the pricey side, but customers can feel the efforts and passion from the staff to serve the best ingredients, design and experiences.
Service is fantastic! The gentleman who was helping me is the best! John, Thank you 🙏 you’re professional☺️You made my morning so special!I got 2 samples of a chocolate & raspberry jaw. For my order l picked a mango jar cheesecake and a chamomile tea.As I’m not eating too much dairy on regular basis this desert was too heavy for me… I couldn’t finish it.I payed $32 total: $22 for a desert & $7,52 for my tea.My friend LOVES this place ⭐️ if you’re looking for a nice small cozy spot in NYC, homey atmosphere and unique deserts come here!Thank you 😊
Very creative menu. Great flavors and attention to detail. Lovely ambience. Its a pricy menu so if youre cheap or dont understand the effort that goes into making these pastries, this place isnt right for you.The truffle madeleines are divine! I dont think I can ever eat madeleines anywhere else again. The honey tart is incredible.
Picked this place on a whim during a girls day of restaurant hopping. Best decision. Such delicious, light and creamy desserts; very insta worthy. Indoor and outdoor seating, just be willing to wait since its always packed. Bonus points they have a restroom. And staff is very nice.
Where’s the 6/5 star option?! Miel Tart, cake jars, savory truffle madeleines... every item in this little sweet oasis is mouth watering! For chocolate lovers—don’t miss the chocolate mouse cake jar. So far I‘ve loved everything I’ve tried and will be sure to bring anyone visiting here. Perfect for tea time, any date, or simply a brief late night dessert. I’ll be back!
They have a great selection of desserts. A little too sweet for my personal liking. If you are someone who likes desserts a bit less on the sweet side (ironical I know) then you wont fall in love here. The main dessert portions are also small as compared to what they look in pictures if you are ordering in.I highly recommend the tea if you are dining in. The tea pots are gorgeous and they serve you enough for many refills. Definitely enhanced out dessert experience. The place is cute if you are eating in and the packing is cute too if you order to go/get it delivered.
Both “Le Miel” 🍯 and the chocolate eclair are exceptional. My taste buds were taken to a whole new world... When I told the staff that the amazing dessert makes me so happy after a rough week, he packed two more pieces and handed them to me, “Let me make you happier.” ❤️ Some people are just sweet and kind to others... and you know they are real.
Worst Experience Ever! The model shows full of strawberry and the real one comes out totally different! Full of disgusting cookies I don’t want to eat and doesn’t even have one strawberry. I asked them and they said that oh we use strawberry jam the model just to look good! This is totally scamming customers and not what I expect to get! The other is too sweet to taste really bitter. Also the waitress not professional at all. We told her many times but she still give us the wrong food. They don’t have price anywhere. Not online or even in the store. The cheapest cake is $20 for a extremely small one. I order the second smallest size and ends up paying almost $200. Will never come again! I don’t recommend u to go here because they only turn the pad to let you see the price when you insert your card and they don’t allow you to reject it.Save your money go somewhere better!
Wow, the staff and experience here was fantastic. They provided us some quick samples upon entering, and my girlfriend & I shared a Chocolate dessert jar which was delectable. Not too heavy, rich enough for the cocoa to really come through. They worked around her allergies and were so polite from start to finish. Great experience in a classy establishment. Recommended.
If you drink tea and you go to sweet rehab!!!! You cant leave without getting a cup or your own tin(I recommend a tin) of Rouge Bourbon. It smells heavenly!!! Such a beautifully smooth sent! It should be made an ice-cream flavor for real!! I had a cup and Chai is now placed at 2nd best tea,Rouge Bourbon for the win!!!!!
The chocolate explosion that I got was tasty and the free sample that they gave me was delicious too.Im not sure why theres no menu posted with full descriptions of all of the desserts. I wanted more of a gooey & rich chocolate dessert and the explosion was not that. The night I went, I had to discuss the dessert with the people behind the counter to find out more about each item. The ones in jars did not have description cards.I might go back to try something else.
This place is a phenomenal dessert spot! 🍰 Sweet Rehab has an incredible selection of hand-crafted desserts 🧁, pastries 🥐, and cookies 🍪 made to order! They also have their own swag 👕 for purchase. Staff 👨🍳 is super friendly and welcoming and offered free samples to our group! Service was quick and very professional. Ambience 🎶 is fantastic and the quality of the desserts is amazing! I wish I came here more often!
When we entered the gentleman behind the counter was kind enough to ask if it was our first time at the restaurant, then proceeded to recommend us some of the desserts they had on display. We were unsure of what to order, so he offered us a little sample. Absolutely Loved how excited he became when he was suggesting different dishes we try. He spoke about each dessert with such passion. They were so presentable, and made to order. We left with multiple items on the menu. 10/10 recommend
The spot is very cute with a european feel and the display of the goodies are really nice. We were treated to a little simple which was lovely. We were there on a Saturday and it was quite busy not only with guests but also delivery folks. It was crowded inside and our food took over 30 mins. Though delicious, the wait was not fun especially with so many people packed in. I’d definitely opt to go on a quieter day or time. All the items were delicious and we had a large pot of tea which was a very generous portion.Sustainability rating: 2 out of 5. Their dine in cups and serving ware were reusable but water was served in plastic cups and the takeout kits had a lot of single use plastic and items.
One of the worst places I’ve been. The fact that they serve champagne and madeleine with caviar, with the slogan on their sweater “no money no honey” should have been a red flag, but I entered anyway.Deserts costs 16$ each and they are totally not worth the money.I got a cherry tart that didn’t taste like cherry at all (in cherry season!), and a yuzu cake not better than what I do at home.Probably a place for rich people with no taste.
The desserts here are pricey but this would be your worth it splurge. The chocolate eclair is so light, whipped, forthy chocolate. You want to eat this slowly to savor it. The same thing with the strawberry croissant. It is a heavenly whipped cream with strawberries. Soon to come is champagne and liquor once they get their liquor license. You can eat inside with iced tea, hot tea, and coffee. The music was a cool French hip hop. It was empty when my friends and I entered but it started to fill up quick. I would like to return just when the weather is cooler.
To give a fair and honest two-stars review, I would say that this place has a combination of great deserts with a beyond ridiculous price and attitude towards customers. The products on display do not have price tags. You only learn how much they cost, when you pay.If you are ordering to go, there is no organized waiting line inside the store and placing an order takes a while. Once you finally order, they take the item to cashier and register it. That’s the only time when you actually learn about the price of the items you are buying. This is a very simplistic and deceitful tactic to lure the consumer into buying the product - regardless of its price - since you were there waiting for your turn to order. We got the Brioche loaf. It looks and tastes amazing. However, it was $45 dollars!!! Had we known the price in advance, we would have never bought it.This place has a great potential but I believe that showing more respect for the customers and adequately pricing their items would surely benefit their business in the near future.
Freshly made pastries here, very busy but friendly staff. The desserts are quite delicious, but they are pretty pricey so be prepared to spend more than $15 there. We had the 3 mini tarts, so good and not overly sweet. Fruit was fresh. Also had a wide selection of flavored teas that smelled amazing. Would definitely come back here.
We really enjoyed our morning treats here. My faves were the raspberry tart and chocolate explosion. The lemon yuzu was yummy too. All items had interesting flavor profiles and textures. Everything was great though. The whole staff was super friendly with a special shout out to John. Thanks for hosting a really nice morning with my family.
This place was so aesthetically pleasing and you get to see them make the desserts through the glass window too. Everything seems to have some type of honey in it. Also, I got the fig tart and contrary to the sample on the counter you don’t get a bunch of fruit on top. You get a couple of pieces on top of some cream. If you don’t like cream or were expect something else beware.
It was cool seeing them make some of the desserts behind the display counter, but I wish the prices were displayed by the desserts. It was also on the pricier end, but I suppose that should be expected for fancier desserts. I would go back if they offered cheaper options or if I had a special occasion to treat myself. The dessert (le miel) itself tasted great.
A serendipitous moment for the books, no doubt. Stepping into this clean, comfortable, and vibrant space - youre greeted with a stunning assortment of sweets - both in the form of the food and the personalities that radiate from the people here. I encourage you to treat yourself to two things at least! Thank you for the wonderful memory Sweet Rehab. See you again soon!
Sweet rehab is pure robbery! Their product are mainly pastry puffs and cream. No craftsmanship. Why would you pay $85 for an almond pie ( galette) which barely has almond, is dry and doesnt even look like the one they show on their website. Furthermore, no need to complain about anything, they simply dont careThis place is for customers liking to throw money away without receiving neither quality products or good service.
I went to this amazing French bakery🇫🇷 in Soho, called Sweet Rehab 🐝 everything was so fresh and delicious. They make everything in front of you.I was completely impressed with the excellent quality and customer service. This place is a bit pricey but it’s worth it. Every pastry is a work of art.Raise your hand 🙋🏼♀️ if you love pastries🤤 what’s not to love right?😅They are closed on Mondays and they just updated their hours from 10am until midnight.
The employees were as friendly & nice as it could only be. I’ve been recommended by the staff to get Vanilla + pistachio+ amazingly fresh strawberries & raspberries dessert (forgot the name) and it’s probably the best dessert I’ve had in my life (and I’ve tried A LOT). The raspberries and strawberries tested just like from my grandmother’s garden back in Europe and dessert reminded me the smell of wild berries in the forest. Expensive but(!) definitely worth trying. Overall an amazing experience. Can’t wait to be back!
Came here on a whim and ordered the raspberry, yuzu, and fig tart. Definitely on the pricey side but it is worth it. I got it for take out and they take extra care into sticking the tarts down so they dont move.As much as I am happy, I did not expect the fig tart to have raspberry jam instead of fig jam like they had stated stated. Kind of disappointed especially since they paid extra detail into everything else.
Sweet Rehab is definitely one of the most popular & trendiest dessert spots currently in NYC since it’s run by famous Chef David Zaquine. The decor is elegant & brilliant with delicate desserts & pastries. The manager was super friendly and attentive to introduce all the options they served. They also gave us a sample with their signature mascarpone cheese & fruits. We had a hard time making up our decisions since all the desserts are beautiful like art. We ended up buying 2 small tarts, Yuzu and Le Miel, a fig jar and a couple of cookies. Our favorite was the Le Miel tart, which means honey in French, it was not too sweet with great balance of crust and mousse. However, it’s luxurious with higher price points and smaller portion. It’s worth a try & visit on special occasions, not perfect for an afternoon with friends.
Definitely a popping place in soho, NYC. I wanted to visit this place so bad when I was planning to visit to New York. I’m a visitor from Texas and I finally made it to visit this bakery shop in Soho. When you first walk in, the smell of bakery will welcome your nose and the beauty of decoration will welcome your eyes. It’s one of the famous restaurants with famous bakery chief. It made sense and the staff was nice enough to provide the samples of vanilla cream. It was very tasty. I think it was the best marketing for them because I couldn’t just walk away since I tasted already. The price was definitely pricey of small portion. That’s probably the only reason. Overall, nice decoration of hotel dining level.
SCAM. This place is a disgrace & Im surprised they havent been reported yet. No prices on display on purpose. I ordered 2 tarts smaller than the palm of my hand + 2 cookies & paid $46!! The tarts are worth $5 max! The base was dry & rock solid & the filling was pure sugar with a quarter of the fruit shown on the displays. The cookies went in the bin as they were just dry sugar. Ive literally had tastier desserts from the supermarket. Disgraceful!
Came here after a dinner where we were almost full, but not quite. We wanted dessert but was worried some dessert places might be too heavy. Came across this spot and they have such great dessert and tea selections. When we ordered two tea pots for 4 people, were were expecting smaller pots, but each pot has at least 40-50 oz of liquid! We got the raspberry mille feuille, lemon tart, and the brownie cake in a cup (not sure what it was we ate in a cup but it was great). All of it was delicious. Everything felt light and not too sweet, and the tea was perfect post dinner.Am definitely coming back!
Absolutely gorgeous desserts and tasty food. Their madeleines were very good, but the honey was even better (possibly due to a bee being their theme?) It tasted similar to clover honey but even lighter with a subtle sweetness that wasnt too much like some honey can be. The packaging was adorable, and the workers were very patient and polite, and even complimented me on a bag I brought in. They are delicate with their work and make each creation by order with careful touch, placing each piece perfectly to make beautiful creations. I highly recommend this place!
Mark was awesome, his customer service skills and his genuine kindness to every customer that walked through the door was like something Ive never seen before and Ive worked in restaurants and hospitality 10+ years. Unfortunately the sweets served day of were very disappointing. He tells me perhaps it was a bad batch of raw honey, the honey was not sweet, almost tasted alcoholic with a strong bitter taste, I was also served an incomplete dessert and when I asked why it was even brought to the table they told me they didnt have the time to complete the dish. I waited 30 mins since ordering for 2 pastries. Photos attached will show. Place has great potential Unfortunately my experience wasnt upto par.
This is probably the closest thing to a French patisserie in nyc that I have been to. It’s absolutely delicious and so beautiful. Everything is truly made fresh here and the service is wonderful. You pay for the high quality and beauty of the desserts. You can tell it was made with a lot of love and passion ♥️♥️🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
WOW! If you are a pastry addict like me, then you must visit this place!! The desserts are not only work of art but they are so delicious! I brought them to a dinner party that night and all my friends were salivating when I open the boxes!DominIque Ansel is pretty good but Sweet Rehab is on a totally different level 😋PS also a perfect place for a date..
Had the amazing pleasure to eat here. Their desserts are not just beautiful but carefully crafted, they’re delicious. Had the addiction strawberry tart and was surreal, it was creamy, sweet (not too much, just how it should), fresh and crunchy it was everything at the same time. Going back for sure
Such a beautiful place, in Soho! I took a few pastries to go, and they were delicious, with a perfect blend of flavors and sweet. John was very helpful and guided me through all the options. The Chocolate Explosion and Le Miel were my favorites. The pistachio biscuit was soft, and goes so well with the crunch of the almond. You can definitely taste the French “Savoir-faire”. I will come back and bring some friends!
I kinda prepared before visiting since a lot of comments mentioned how about pricy it is. The desserts were good, crispy Mille Feuille with rich vanilla flavor, and the Le Miel with balanced honey taste. And yes, they were really pricy. I would give 4 overall. Although I can tell they are trying to provide the high-class sweets, I believe it could’ve been a little bit cheaper.Last, the reason came to 3 eventually. I bought the Le Miel literally because of the tart base but it was different after I opened the box which they changed into a thin biscuit at the bottom. I was disappointed cause they didn’t mentioned the change. The store should be more professional with this price!
John who served really have me an experience. He guided me through each pastry offered, even letting me know about the french ingredients. They were out of Brioche loaf and I decided to wait on the almond puff pastry-- both looked divine! I decide on The Mariage - Christmas Tea and the almond/berry mini loaf! Simply delicious and well made. I would highly recommend!
I took one star out since the service is bad. I also think they should take more time with the customer in explaining the flavors and ingredients of each. One suggestion will be to add the price on each sample and updates on the menu. The presentation and quality is great.
This pastry shop is the best new thing in SoHo. They have the most beautiful hand crafted desserts! They have 2 pastry chefs who are French and they make the desserts as you order them. Its a little on the higher end of the price spectrum, but totally worth checking out. Everything is absolutely beautiful inside, from the desserts to the decor.Great place to bring a date for dessert or date with your friends.IG-traveleen_gurl
Today I was for the first time in this place and I would say that I finally found something really delicious in NYC. The price worth it!!!I’m finally enjoyed the taste of the the deserts, not just sugar like usually. It’s remind me some European places with a high quality of taste!😌Piece of France in NYC.
Mille feuille was really, really good. Great staff, too. But the owner needs to turn up its air conditioner and figure out a way to keep all those fruit flies sitting on the desserts away - don’t think I’ve ever been to any dessert place being so nonchalant about fruit flies.
People writing 5 stars mustve gone to a different Sweet Rehab because my boyfriend and I waited 45 minutes for two small pastries on a wednesday afternoon. Ordered almost immediately. NO line either. Yes, no prices in the store so I looked online and they can be viewed there. I had a lemon yuzu tart that was terribly average and hardly worth the wait. We sat outside and the tables had not been cleared nor was there anyone attempting to clear them anyway. Food would even be delivered to a table and the staff wouldnt pick up dirty dishes. After going inside to ask about the wait time I was told we were up next and then continued to wait another 10-15 minutes. Could the fruit/ingredients be freshly picked or specially produced, however? Also no! We saw staff use plastic containers you would see at Trader Joes and the like. The staff was also strangely dressed in jeans and hoodies which seemed to contradict a place self-described as high end and luxurious. Good luck to Chef Zaquine!
Rip off: $25 for an eclair.was it worth the price? Nooooooooooo!!!! Service is provided by untrained staff who keep change in a shoebox under the counter!!! They charged me $80 for a galette that was the size of my hand. No refund was provided and I am making it my mission to stop businesses misleading clients with their false advertisement.
Taste really good. You can feel they use high quality ingredients, and every bite is fulfilling. I like yuzu tart the most since I enjoy eating sour-sweet dessert.I know they put their heart in it but 1. Still a little too sweet for me and 2. $20 a piece is slightly overpriced.
Absolutely nothing negative to be said about this place. The freshly made desserts are mouth watering and when paired with the refreshing teas, it makes you never want to leave. The woman behind the counter (Anne) was so lovely and was attentive when it came to my nut allergy. The owner, David, is thoughtful and ensures everyone gets personalized attention. When told it was my first time eating at this establishment, she offered multiple tips and samples to help me decide what I might want to order. Great place to go if you are having a date night, out with friends, or just craving something sweet.
Hands down one of the best dessert shops around! The flavors are truly exquisite and you can tell that a lot of thought was put into the combinations and infusions. The staff is very friendly and will guide you in your selections. Definitely a high end experience. Must try Le Miel and the Lemon Yuzu Tart!!
Wow wow wow. I ran into this place unexpectedly and the displays of the pastries caught my attention. Each bite I took felt like my new favorite song, it started with a crunch, then soft delicate cream came through, different flavors started to appear and it blended so well one after another that it melted in my mouth. It was sweet but not like a cupcake, it was sweet like love.
I was looking for a sit-down dessert place and stumbled on this cute French bakery thats about an 8 minute walk south of Washington Square Park. They have indoor dining as well as an outdoor seating area thats beautifully accented with flowers. Unfortunately, when I got there, all the tables were full so I had to grab everything to go. The place is small but its decorated nicely with the pastries and products on display as soon as you walk in. I bought their Dulce de Leche jar, Mango Cheesecake jar, Le Miel, and an iced tea and paid a little over $60 for everything which is pricey. The pastry chef also gave me a free madeleine and a free cookies since I couldnt do sit down! I waited an extra 15 minutes since they make the jars to order. I wasnt a fan of the Le Miel only because they put something on top that makes it bitter and I cant tolerate bitterness. The jars however were out of this world. I loved both flavors with Mango Cheesecake being my favorite of the two. The iced tea was not as sweet and rather fragrant which was actually refreshing considering how hot it was that day. And the cookie and madeleine were good but not anything special. I would come back here to try their other products since they also make cookies, eclairs, mille-feuille, and various fruit tarts.
Desserts were delicious! Great combinations that brought together the flavors beautifully. The yuzu tart was super refreshing and the miel tart was a nice sweet flavor with a crisp orange zest added.Everyone was nice and helpful also. The only thing that was dissapointing was that the front cashier lady kept telling me to give her a minute and shed be right with me while all the while helping other customers while Im standing right there in front of her behind the counter. If it wasnt for my friend having already ordered food, this alone would have been enough for me to leave and get dessert somewhere else.
The French pastry chef working there was so welcoming and passionate about his craft. He even gave me a sample of a cookie with the house made strawberry jam. I was blown away by the customer experience. Although their pastries are expensive (mousse was $24, it’s truly a work of art. They use the finest ingredients and definitely worth a try. I ordered the strawberry cheesecake mousse and it’s divine. So rich and I savor the taste with every bite.
Cute spot, very appetizing looking desserts, great service from the nice people who work here. Loved the coffee too. Only reason rated 2 stars since its crazy expensive. Im still wondering why the mille feuille is $15+I know its not a regular bakery but hey your prices are very high. Paid $60+ for 4 coffees & 4 pieces of dessert. Also theres no price list on the menu, there should be more transparency.
Amazing little place we just happened to stumble across. The pastries and sweets alone are incredible but the staff takes this place to the next level. They were super inviting when we came in, gave us a bunch of little samples and recommendations and were just genuinely friendly and clearly passionate about what they do. As we were paying one of the staff gave us a few extra treats for the road. Pricy, but the atmosphere and the deliciousness are worth it.
Divine mouthwatering desserts that make you go “aahhh mmmmmhhh” uncontrollably! Chef David Zaquine and his team are magicians, every single thing on their menu is mind blowing. Besides, the design is so cute and tasteful; the staff is extremely friendly and nice. And the name is genius, I’m a sweet addict and can so much relate to the Sweet Rehab lol. Everything is perfect about this place. My new favorite spot, can’t stop recommending it to everyone I know. Top notch! Round of applaud to the Sweet Rehab team!
I’m definitely coming back here!Every pastry is a work of art and you can see how much passion is put in every creation. The entire experience is unbelievable, from being able to see the pastries created before your eyes, to the amazing customer service, and of course the heavenly taste of the creations.
Perfectly positioned in SOHO to be an absolute tourist trap. With no prices shown, I paid $45 for what is essentially a large croissant (take out) and then shamed into paying AFTER my card was swiped by being asked “is this a problem?”.My only advice.. ask the price of what you’re buying before you order! Prices are insane! On the plus side, croissant loaf was good.
What a stunning French pâtisserie! The croissants & pain au chocolat looked amazing with remarkable layers and symmetry. I only had time to grab and go. Unfortunately the croissants suffered from under developed gluten with dense & bread like interior texture. It’s very disappointing but I will return and happy to return the missing 3 stars then.
I have never seen a more disorganized staff - they couldnt have been slower or more chaotic if they tried. Watching this team behind the counter was like watching a bunch of kindergarteners on bumper cars at an amusement park. the place seems to have been designed for instagram posts rather than efficient or hygienic food service.Furthermore, the prices are outrageous: $20 for a micro slice of alleged cake is way too much.In conclusion: I dont recommend.
Amazing all around! Some of the best dessert I’ve had in a long time and the best service ever!! The guy was extremely friendly and helpful with helping us select along with offering samples to make the decision even easier. Everything we got was phenomenal. Highly recommend, do not miss!!
The cookie bunch is very different from the picture. It looks like you get 4 pcs of the cookies shown. What I got was 2 cookies elaborately decorated and the rest was in a doggie bag. I asked why does the picture have 4 decorated cookies. Just got a shrug. When I entered 90% of the clientele look like that ethnic group of instagrammers and not food aficionados. The lady making the confections was a mess... dropping pastry bags and being sloppy all over. You can see the mess because its an open kitchen. What I got was basically a cookie slathered with buttercream (?) Hardly the pinnacle of French haute cuisine. Id rather have a bag of Pepperidge farms or Cadbury cookies and save myself the disappointment.
Can you run? if so , run as far as possible from this horrible place: super pricey, low quality products and let me tell you about the horrible customer service. IT IS HORRIBLE!!! the staff lacks training, manners and basic greetings. why would I spend $20 on a micro tiny slice of pastry or $5 tasteless cookie when I can get better treatment and better delicacies at other french shop? this is a trap for instagram content creators. horrible
So freaking good here and the service is great! I cannot stop thinking about every single pastry I had here especially the hazelnut mini pound cake looking pastry 🤣. Idk what it’s called but it’s in the same container as the Madeleines. Still thinking about it. Need to go back ASAP
Victim of their success their staff treat customers like second class citizens. $20 for a single size pastry is called robbery especially when hygiene doesnt follow the standards of their high pricing. Multiple times I have observed employees using the same gloves to touch pastries, then their faces, then handing change to a customer and then serving the next customer. Why? If gloves and paper are too costly for single use, cant tongs be used instead?
Best desserts in New York. My wife and I are food lovers with serious sweet tooth. We guarantee this place will blow your mind. So good!Options are limited which is great for us because it’s almost impossible to choose between all amazing options. every time we go though, they change a few menu items up so you can always try something new.
Put simply, among the most inventive, delicate, complex and delicious pastries, Ive ever had. These are pastries to really savor. If youre in SoHo and want a SPECIAL cafe experience, this is the place to go. If you love to be dazzled by a culinary imagination, I’m not sure how you could do better. Theres balance in these confections that are at once creamy and crunchy, that are not too sweet and where many flavors - unique flavors - come through.
Not worth the adventure...Cons:- Most of the store is behind the counter so not much seating to enjoy. Might be more of a grab and eat at home spot.- No prices for the desserts, so be prepared to splurge.- They keep desserts on display even if they dont have them in stock, so be prepared for them to run out of the chocolate explosion at 11amPros:- they made the desserts to order!- very pretty desserts overall.
Overpriced. Why? Because the quality doesnt match the quality of the items sold.I dont mind paying 120 dollars for a galette des rois but it has to be good! Such an embarrassing moment when we served it to our guests. I think they gave me the display one.Disappointing
Their millefeuille cakes (??) are crazy good!!!!!!! And they stay crispy and crunchy after a day which is so rare w other spots. Highly recommend the chocolate one! The cakes were beautiful when made. Don’t mind the pics it was a really hot day to bring them home. Still worth it tho
THE DESSERTS WERE FANTASTIC!!!!! If there’s a Michelin star for bakeries, this place would get one. David, the owner, was incredible (and cute)!! ;) The kindest, warmest, most humble guy - and he even put up with my demanding mother. We came in after it closed and he welcomed us with open arms and even treated us to various must-try pastries. I never write reviews and I felt so compelled to because of my experience. If you’re lucky enough to try this place, run!! - don’t walk!
Not a conventional place! You choose your dessert and they take the time to complete them (such as cutting up the cherries and arranging them). This gives everything a fresh flavor, and as if the dessert was made just for you (which it essentially was). The pastry chef finished the desserts in front of us.A little pricey but highly recommend! The interior is beautiful and there’s a great seating area (for once indoor dining is allowed again).
Dessert is my favorite part of the meal. I always reserve a little space in my stomach so I can enjoy something sweet, delicious and decadent. I found this cute little pastry shop last year while wandering around Sullivan Street. I tried a few of their tarts and eclairs and it was delicious. I really enjoyed the flavors and textures that pastry chef combined together. I was planning on bringing some friends to enjoy to this shop when the pandemic hit. I was so happy last weekend when I passed by the shop again after dinner and it was still open and BUSY.
The desserts were perfect, they werent too sweet which is often the case - they were delicious and unique. The guy who served us was great and friendly, he explained us about each dessert passionately and was really kind. This place is pricey, but it was a great experience which is definitely worth it, looking forward to get back to this place for more!
Went here with my boyfriend for our anniversary for dessert we got the cookie, an eclair, and the most famous dessert. The eclair was a no. My boyfriend enjoyed the cookie but it was TOOOO sweet for me. The dessert I got ‘The Honey’ was super good but not worth $15 the crust was delicious and the inside was super light and not overly sweet. Not sure if we would go back.
This was such a great experience today! I unexpectedly came across this bakery and was completely impressed with the exceptional quality and customer service. We got an eclair, a cheesecake jar with raspberries and pistachios (not too sweet and just perfect!) and chocolate chip cookies (made with coconut sugar) and they were some of the best I have ever had. This place is not inexpensive but you get what you pay for and it was well worth it. Everything you order is made in front of you, fresh. Great music too! I can’t wait to go back and highly recommend it.
So.... was the Mille Feuille divine? Yes. Layers of fresh custard with chunks of honeycomb (and was that a pistachio paste?) with a butter crust that melted on contact. Perfection. Was it worth $45 for three people to share? Pricey, but it’s about an 8” long pastry and 2” high so I’m going to say yes to that, too. What wasn’t right was being told to wait outside at a table and that it would be brought right out. After 40-min we were wondering where our dessert was and they said everything was being made fresh and there were still two ahead of ours. In reading the customer service reviews, I see we’re not alone in the opinion that they’re not really high on valuing their customer. Seriously, just say “this is going to take an hour,” not “go sit outside, we’ll get to you when we get to you.”
I would love to give this spot a 4.5 stars as it was a great dessert house and the service was solid. The desserts were tremendously beautiful but a tad sweet for my taste buds which is why I would dock the half star. The ambiance was a perfect marriage of French meets Soho and the proprietor was very generous with after purchase gifts and keeping customers informed and entertained.
I believe their desserts are great, but I have placed a pickup order more than 1-hour before I picked them up. I got the confirmation email that they’re ready. When I got there the shop was very busy, so I had to wait in line for a while. When it came to my turn, the order is not ready yet?! Don’t send me an auto-confirmation email, if you guys are not ready for orders. The cashier guy told me to wait about 5 mins, and he was rushed to make my order. I could see how he was making it, and it made me worried that he could miss some ingredients or make it differently cause he was in a rush. I know the store gets really busy, but overall my experience was not great.
This place is a marketing machine. Very stylish! Super hip. Super cute. They got crazy looking, dramatic desserts that are infinitely Instagrammable and they got merch. Theyve got beautiful boxes and packaging. Its a scene!I didnt think that the pastries were particularly good but they looked amazing. Never want to see baby cilantro on my dessert again.I thought things were grossly overpriced but rent and marketing costs a lot of money! The Mariage Freres tea was disappointing in that they served it in a freaking paper cup for the price that we paid for it.I would say its worth a look but there are much better and cheaper bakeries in this neighborhood.
An absolutely otherworldly experience, this little gem of a bakery/dessert bar takes you on a culinary excursion where unimaginable flavor combinations dazzle and delight the palette. The decor is simply lovely; the staff is warm, friendly and inviting; and amazingly, they actually give you samples! By all means, if you want a dessert experience that is out of this world, indulge your taste buds here... youll not be disappointed!
I cant say the pretention and cost of this bakery is worth the calories or frustration. Walking into the space, its incredibly cute and well curated, what you expect for a SoHo bakery. But we ordered a Mille-feuille, some cookies, and a tea to go. They asked us to wait outside, in 40° weather, despite plenty of space inside. 15 minutes later they hand us our tea. We expected it be loose leaf steeped in a separate pot or something for the wait. No it was a tea bag. A $7.50 tea bag for a brand of tea where that price will fetch you an entire box at retail value. Then they tell us it will be another 15-20 minutes for the mille-feuille, which is a whopping $35. So we asked for a refund and walked away cold, frustrated, late for our next engagement, and without what we wanted.
Sweet rehab is a little gem in the middle of Soho. Everything from the ingredients and sophistication of the desserts to the warm customer service and stunning interior are beyond. If budget is an issue you should know ahead of time the sweet treats are not inexpensive, but they are profound and worth every delicious gourmet bite! Your taste buds will thank you! Support this special little bakery and in return you will feel like you experienced the best of Paris (sans jet lag).
I love this place. They sell three star Michelin quality desert. The shop is lovely and the service is very friendly and welcoming. I had the millefeuille and the eclair. Both were equally delicious. I could’ve eaten a dozen without a problem, as they were super light and perfectly balanced taste wise. The price is high but the pastry is excellent and worth waiting for if you have to.I read the comments about people complaining about the price - but yes quality has a price ! The cakes are made right in front of you and you can see the time and passion that goes into each of them.I took a box of all the cookies and got to try them all. My favorite is pistachio , really flavoury and rich.
Immediately as I walked in I noticed the beautifully presented desserts on the counter. The level of precision demonstrated by each dessert reminded me of the impeccable pastry shops I visited in Tokyo and Kyoto.I was also surprised to see that all the desserts were essentially made to order. Not only do you get to witness the crafting of the desserts, it also improves the overall quality. Since everything is assembled in the moment, every element of the dessert is in its ideal state. The blend of Moroccan flavors such as honey, pistachio, or orange blossom with classic French techniques provides for a truly unique experience. The cookies are among the best I’ve ever had, and though the chocolate cookie is unforgettably delicious, I personally prefer the white chocolate pistachio. My favorite desserts to order are the classic Miel, the beautifully simple Vanilla Mille Feuille, and the Honey Mousse. That said, having tried all the desserts, there are truly no bad options. In a city filled with pastry shops and bakeries, Sweet Rehab stands alone, proving that you can find world-class pastry in NYC
Amazing, professional food. The store is very nicely designed like a cut boutique. The service is very professional and makes it a whole expirence for you and are very interactive. They offered freshly baked cookies before order the very high quality food which they bake fresh and decorate on the spot. They have outdoor seating as well as indoor. They desserts consist of things from beautiful fruity tarts to a chocolate caramel cheesecake bowl. A very sophisticated expirence so would recommend it mostly for adults. Only thing about it is its very pricey but much worth it. Overall one of the best dessert places I have ever been too.
Somewhat confused by the rave reviews. Though maybe thats what happens when one pays $15 - $25 for a basic dessert. Prevents thinking clearly... 😁.In my opinion these are reasonably fine and normal desserts youd find at any quality place, however unlike most places these desserts have significantly heftier price tags. In my case $16 for a small tart (2.5inch diameter), and $24 for their jar dessert. Comes in a plastic jar-like container. Both are overpriced to the point I had to do a double take at checkout as I couldnt quite believe it at first.I honestly cant see myself visiting this place again when theres much more reasonable (and IMO better places) like The Spot around.
This place is a scam. There are no prices listed when you order food so you don’t know what you’re going to pay until you get the fat bill. 90% of the desserts that are displayed are not available. We paid 40 dollars for some mouse slabbed on to a graham cracker. We ordered truffled Madeleines. What we got was no truffle and extremely stale crunchy bland madeleines. Not worth the money and completely overhyped. You don’t get what is actually on display.
Overpriced to the max for mediocre taste. I went there because I saw many good reviews and the pictures looks goods but then was disappointed for paying so much for dessert that taste like from Whole Foods which probably would be better. I read those reviewers afterwards and I think they just pay them to write such good reviews cause there’s nothing at this dessert place at all. Will not recommend. Go to Laduree or Dominique Ansel instead!
Amazingly light and delicious but pricy.Stopped by for dessert after dinner on a Friday night. The place was crowded and the staff seemed confused at times. We still ordered, got a table, and got our dishes quickly. Each dish was about $10~$15 and on the smaller side. But they tasted fantastic.
Sweet Rehab is the first patisserie by acclaimed French pastry chef David Zaquine, who has worked at a number of highly respected restaurants, including Plaza Athénéé and Le Cinq at the Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris. The shop is beautiful and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They really take their time to explain each menu item if you tell them that it is your first time there and they even gave us a sample of their freshly baked madeleines, which were warm and fluffy. The pastries here are a little pricey since even the tiny tarts cost about $15 each, but they are definitely worth it on special occasions or when you simply just want to treat yourself. It’s hard to pick what you want at Sweet Rehab because everything looks so beautiful, almost too pretty to eat since they really are a work of art. My personal favorite is their signature pastry called Le Miel, which means honey in French, but you really can’t go wrong with any of them.

2022-03-15!! Get the jar desserts !! Found this hidden gem awhile back before it became so popular and have loved it since! We bring all our out of town friends here! Even though the desserts are a bit overpriced, they are worth every penny. They are delicious and have such an unique taste it’s wild! Highly recommend 10/10!

2021-12-30I do really like a couple of the desserts available here, as well as the selection of teas. However, the service here was pretty bad (slow and they forgot about my order, making me wait an additional 40 minutes) and its aggravating that there are no prices on anything, making it feel like youre about to get scammed at any given time. Also, while the desserts were undoubtedly of high quality, I do not think that they were special/interesting/novel enough to cost $20 for a single slice. The desserts are pretty standard and simple flavor profile wise yet super expensive. Id recommend finding a different dessert bar nearby or skipping this place all together.

2022-04-23The experience was incredible on all accounts. The gentlemen who prepared and served the desserts was very knowledgeable, helpful, and kind. The desserts were all wonderful in their own right and truly a unique experience. The location is beautifully decorated and every detail down to the plate is thought of as to enhance your experience eating there. Will definitely be returning.

2022-02-04Pretty pastries, fresh and tasty, nice presentation, (although the display pastries do look a tad more grand)but are they worth the price? They also have a decent tea selection but don’t have all the teas that are listed in the menu. No espresso based drinks, seems like tea is the only beverage they serve.

2021-12-28Totally not worth it. A fraction as good as Dominique Ansel and many times the price. They told us the dessert will be even more elaborately decorated when it comes out than the model, and it was actually a fraction as decorated with a fraction of the amount of cream. You can see the photos of the model and actual dessert and decide for yourself. Two desserts and a pot of tea cost $80, total rip-off and no prices anywhere not even in their online menu. The real top bakery in the city Dominique Ansel still only charges $6 for an eclair.

2022-02-25Their desserts are beyond describable. Yes its slightly pricey but its worth the experience. We ordered quite a few items but Le Miel was my favorite. Their chocolate explosion dessert actually feels like a chocolate explosion with a slight bitter note of cocoa which I really liked. They serve desserts and tea. The lady behind the counter was very friendly in explaining us what each dessert consists of. We also got a free sample before ordering and that convinced us to order more than what we intend to.

2022-05-30Got both Le Miel and Mango cheesecake and couldn’t get enough of both (with a slight preference on the cheesecake, which was delightful and zesty). All the ingredients here especially the honey and the cream were so fragrance. For the cream, you can taste its richness without being overwhelming. There is a reason why there is no price tag. Delicate flavors come at a higher price, but definitely worth it overall.

2022-06-27The perfect French dessert place. Literally «le miel» was the best dessert Ive ever had in my life. No exaggeration. They serve Mariage Frères as tea, in my opinion, it is one of the best tea brands in Paris. They brewed the cold tea wonderfully. Overall everything was delicious, maybe one of the best in New York. They do not put prices you may be surprised while you are paying. For two desserts we paid around 30 dollars.

2022-06-05English isn’t my first language but I feel that I have to write it to express my love to this place.Found this place on ubereats during pandemic, and it became my favourite dessert place ever since then.I love desserts but very often I found desserts here in America are either too sweet (lady M, crumb, Dominique ansel, magnolia bakery etc), not fresh (the palm court at the plaza hotel) or too unhealthy.Reason:Nicew presentation, different from each time.Plates are cute too (it matters to me lol)I’ve tried mostly everything at sweet rehab except the chocolate ones (I’m not a big fan of chocolate). My favourite things about desserts here at sweet rehab is that desserts here never feel too heavy, always fresh, and mostly not tooooooo sweet.Recommendation:le miel: not a honey person but I love the honey tart here——not the monotonous taste of sweet but a good balance of sweetness, creamy-ness and floral taste.all the Mille feuille: buttery but light, the base is crispy and the cream is fluffy, nice texture, I think they also make their own jam as it tastes different every time, full of surprises but equally great. The jars: creamy dessert fans’ must try.Eclairs are too good, DO NOT SHARE lol.Madeleines: good balance of sweetness and savoury-ness.The financiers: moist, buttery, and floral, good to go with tea (not fruit tea tho).Cookies are nice too, quite buttery, but the chocolate is slightly sweet for me (very personal preference), good to go with expresso.Recent in store visits and ubereats orders within one month.

2022-01-26This is the place for a decadent, pastry art, experience. The desserts are incredibly beautiful to the eye and even better to taste. So perfectly made with attention to detail and care for the palette of taste. What an amazing place in the city! Great packaging as well for take-out and they offered us cookies at the end of the night for waiting a bit longer than usual. I would rate it a 5 if prices were listed on the pieces but I imagine that could be tricky if the menu changes often. I also understand it could compromise the experience if someone picks solely on price. Beautiful work all in all
