sweetgreen in other cities:
The salads here are absolutely delicious! At first I was a bit weary purchasing a $13+ salad being that I did not believe that it would fill me up, but I was completely wrong. Coming from a first time customer, I am so glad that I had decided to try this place and will most definitely be returning. Additionally, the staff are incredibly friendly, patient, and helpful. I did not get his name, but I would like to specifically give a shout out to the dark skin young man with the braids who of which demonstrated top notch customer service and had such a great attitude while making my order.
I am definitely a regular to this location as it’s conviennent places near union square and many gyms and classes I take. The service is always fast and friendly and I almost always can find seating in their space upstairs. Also I have many times skipped the line by ordering online, although it says 15 minutes + to receive your order, it has always been much faster.
The staff T-shirts say “Passion and Purpose” but I’d challenge them to possess either one. Even on a Saturday morning you can stand in line for close to an hour to watch the almost somnambulist crew slowly creep around the kitchen putting together salads in slow-motion. The food is good - if you ever get it!
I had not a good experience at this location.English is not my first language and with the mask is even more difficult to get understand by people sometimes. But, this being said, it don’t mean that I (and everyone like me) deserve to be shamed by any employee because of that. Especially in NY.I understand frustration of other as well when there is a line and they had to spend a little bit more time try to get my order, but the girl that served me was very rude and didn’t even try to help me with my order. I felt I did something wrong to her and she did it to me. Won’t go back to this location! Food was good.
My favorite location to run into and grab a quick, nourishing lunch or dinner. Just stopped in, and despite being out of avocados, sweet potato’s and a few other things, the lovely girl working made other suggestions and swaps to accommodate the missing items. It was late, and everyone was probably tired. But it didn’t seem to matter-they were so kind and helpful! I love the cashew dressing they recommended!!
Went in at rush hour but their service is pretty quick. Most of the ingredients looked fresh and overall the salad tasted good. I got the black lentil and avocado salad which tasted delicious with a squeeze of lime! The price is pretty standard for a franchise, I paid $12/13. I think next time Ill get a customized salad and see how much that ends up costing. Otherwise, there is seating area and you can see some of the prep work for the salad. They seem to take care of hygiene and providing only the freshest!
I got delivery from here, and I got the Thai salad, which came with roasted sesame tofu, raw corn, cucumbers, shredded cabbage, basil, cilantro, spicy sunflower seeds, organic arugula, chopped romaine, lime squeeze, spicy cashew dressing. I really enjoyed the freshness of the salad and there were a lot of leaves, but I thought there wasnt nearly enough tofu nor corn for the amount of salad there was. The cashew dressing also wasnt spicy, and there wasnt enough. It was a pretty good salad though because of the freshness and portions!
The food is typical sweet green standard. The store is quite spacious with a sitting area of 6-8 tables. Theres usually a wait during lunch and dinner, weekday and weekend. It seems to be caused by the lack of efficiency. The flow is just slow. Even if you order in advance theres still likely to be a wait.
I hardly ever write reviews of businesses even when I have had a terrible experience. I by far just witnessed the most appalling scene at this location. I was online to get a salad by the door to the kitchen along with other customers. Which not to mention the door is basically see through. When an all out brawl ensued in the kitchen. There was screaming and workers going at it. While others serving looked on and or joined in. There was no manager in sight and everyone stood watching. I have never seen something like this and I grew up in NYC. Not to mention things happen and that’s understandable, but for not one worker to step in and handle the situation or atleast call the cops is ridiculous. Customers one by one left the store. It seemed like the situation was escalating to point it was unsafe to be there.
Their salads are good but it really depends on who is making them. Some days the salad is great and some days its not. The amount of meat thru use is very little. Some servers wont even give you a full scoop of meat. Over priced for the amount you get (especially meat)
Great salads but baffling how they could only have 2 or 3 people available to serve a huge line of people. Always a wait even at off peak hours that I never experience at other sweetgreens. Also they crank the heat to the point where you feel like you’re eating a salad in a bathtub with satan.
Delicious Sweet Greens Salads. The SG Team is fast and the salads are fresh. I enjoyed my order massively. Tabbi and Thy is full of great service and hospitality. Sweet Greens whole menu is very tasty and yummy. Try it for yourself. This location is not nearly as efficient as other Sweet Greens Ive visited. They have often made my order wrong and the pick up ordering doesnt save you any time. It may get better with new management. Usually I love Sweet Green, but I always wonder, why so much damn kale?
Very open spaced healthy food spot specializing in salads. Everything was clearly fresh and tasted great. Im looking forward to trying some of more of their standard salads. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is because they do not take cash, only credit and that is rediculous.
I have always claimed that someone could cash in on the salad craze just by trying a bit harder. Unlike the majority of these places sweetgreen is actually doing more than putting ingredients into a bowl. There is thought in the flavor combinations. The result is a far better salad. The only downside is the chaos. I recommend ordering online to mitigate the salad eating mob.
Its ridiculous. Although I have enjoyed it in the past, this time I was very dissapointed, specially after walking long ways to be in line in one of the SG to find out they did not have avocados for their salads. So i decided to walk for 20 more min to another SG to also find out they did not have avocados either. What a waste of time and energy.😤
My favoritest salad chain of all salad chains (though kebab Cobb at chopt is the king of all salads).I usually go with a salad concept they already have and then add modifications - its the best way to save yourself some money. Though my friend usually makes her own and since she doesnt always get meat it works out to be quite inexpensive.Guac greens is one of my faves, but when Im feeling vegan I just go with spicy sabzi. The BEST topping is the spicy broccoli. It is crack. Their portobello is friggin incredible too. I mean all of their toppings just taste super fresh.
I build my own custom bowl, and with the ‘premium’ ingredients, it all quickly added up. The taste was good though, it’s all in the dressings. And the grains make it a little more satisfying!More photos and details on my blogs. Links also in profile.nycbonvivant[dot]wordpress[dot]comnycbonviveur[dot]wordpress[dot]com
They always run out of ingredients and don’t tell anyone. You’ll wait in line for a half hour and when you get to the front they tell you they can’t make your order. You can ask when the ingredients will be ready and they basically snub you and don’t even try to find out when the ingredients will be ready. They basically tell you too bad so sad bye. Definitely done coming here.
Sweetgreen adds to the already crowded list of salad options in the city. When you walk in youll think you went to Chopt. That is no mistake. From the salad in plastic tubs in the back to the ingredients sitting in front of you behind a pane of glass, this place screams I want to be Chopt! The difference? Sweetleaf charges more than Chopt for organic ingredients. You wont tell the difference though, only feel slightly better about yourself and be less rich.If you dont care about organic, go to Equinox for salad or either of the two Chopts that are within two blocks walking of this location. Definitely not worth the often long line out the door.
The worst service ever .had to wait for a pick up .more than 45 min .seriously though the cashier was so rood and mean I asked her so many times for my pick up . Said idk check here and there .. probably she doesnt like her job .so dont do it ..Im sorry but next time I reserve an pick up request Im not gonna do it no matter what .
Like most chains, this place does some good things and they run it at all. They have a speciality. When it comes to your own profession, it can be said that other departments are disappointing. Heres the situation: they specialize in the farms fresh and good @ss vegetables and meat directly from the Buddha statue. laughHonestly, I can be throughly because I got 3 salad rates for this place. A vegetarian, a vegetarian, and eventually a chicken. Food on fire. Very tasteful. Seasonal dressing killer.deep impression. The only downside, it may take a little while, but its not the Mickey Mouse DS to appreciate each other.

2022-03-27Never been in a SG with such impolite and unwelcoming staff, putting half of the ingredients out of the box when mixing the salads.

2022-09-18Lacking basic customer serviceThe doors were open and so I walked in at around 10:20am. Only to be told they are not open until 10:30am. I asked if I could just get one of the bottled drinks and flatly said no (for something that doesnt need any preparation but just ringing it up in the cash register). Perhaps not a big deal but its their loss and I will never step in here again.

2022-07-11Always fresh and delicious salads - but warning do not do mobile order. They skimp on food - bowls half full and often wrong. It’s disappointing bc they still charge the same price. Best to order in person prior to 12 pm, otherwise the lines dramatically increase, ingredients run out, employees are stressed and forgetful. One employee though keeps mixing up my order no matter the time of day and has the biggest attitude. Understandably this is not the most high profile job, however this persons facial expression is sooo superior to be making salads. It’s almost comical. Salads and dressings are always delicious and taste healthy. Just bring patience and understanding with you when ordering.

2022-05-04I walked in, made my order but somehow my card refuse to make a purchase, however Johan before leaving for the day, was nice enough to hand me the food on the house. I was shock and embarrassed at what happened but everyone kept their cool.I wanna thank Johan & staff for the professionalism and making sure I don’t go home empty handed.Thank you all!!!

2017-10-31I walked in before the lunch crowd, service was super fast (but they have a pick up option that seems very quick). The salads have a lot of thought put into them; preset salads have a wonderful balance of flavors. Theres enough seating for about 25 people upstairs but the music is a little too loud for nice conversation. Its a bit expensive (~$13) for salad but they do give you a large bowl. Overall a good healthy and yummy option. If you like eating healthy but are sad with the options in NYC definitely try these salads.

2022-07-07Meat servings are more than a little skimpy for the price, but good otherwise. Might be the best of admittedly extremely-poor options in the couple blocks around.

2017-07-29I loved my salad went on a weekend its a busy place because its good, I love the fact that its a warm salad comparing it to chopt its not the same the dressings are way better, and the fact that you can have this any time of the year and feel like its comfort food is the best feeling. Will definitely come here again.
