Szechuan House in other cities:
Restaurant is small but clean, fresh food but frankly the food is overpriced, medium portions, 1/3 dishes that was ordered(mao pow tofo?) was tastier than the other ones. The eggplant was OK, the last dish was neither spicy nor at flavorful, it was just a plate of mushrooms, snap peas and this crunchy white vegetable that hardly had any of the taste, flavor and portion the tofu dish had. It was not worth the price we paid for dinner in my opinion, it was too much $$. I have had better szechuan food other places for even half the price for a fuller plate and better quality.
Well, this was a big disappointment. I heard this was one of the best in the City. Traveled from the Bronx to get it. The Kung Pow chicken was only ok. The scallion pancakes were tasteless and greasy. The cold “sesame” noodles initially tasted like they had tomato sauce on them. Just hot, hot, hot. Inedible. Maybe I went to the wrong place. Queens is packed with restaurants so …..guess it’s possible. But this place on Roosevelt Ave is a hard pass.
Ive been here twice . One in 2019 and then one recently a few days ago. Overall, I think the prices are a bit expensive for what they offer . Their lunch prices from gone up from 8.95 from 2019 to about 11.95 i think 2021. I think most of their dishes are overly salty. For example, the tofu with fish casserole was a it too salty for me. Another thing I wasnt fond of was that after the lady put down our food, she proceeded to take a video of the food and panned out to us for the end. Not sure if it was going to be distributed out to any social media but she didnt ask for permission or anything which was weird. All in all, wouldnt come back again unless someone really wanted itThere is free parking if u park at skyview after $50+ I think. U just give them ur skyview parking tix and they give u back $3 in cash (cost of $3). Also they communicated that if I gave my phone number and name, I can get a Discount next time. Not sure how that works but I gave that too.
For a Saturday the place was empty, its a red flag to me but we give it a try anyway, dumplings looks like frozen i order an eggplant with pork. It was all oil and eggplant seriously for 17 dollars menu there is nothing on it literally nothing. I told the lady that serves/hostess she almost touch the food with her finger just to show that there is pork in there, this place is expensive and a total waste of money. I dont recommend it at all.
The only item Ive had here is the sliced beef with peppercorn. It is absolutely amazing. The manager knows my face and knows my order every time I go. The other staff always have a smile and a big hello. Service could not be faster or more helpful. Prices are great. This place is one of my favorites.
Ordered through beyondmenu and the restaurant called 15 minutes later saying that they dont want to pay beyond menus fees and wont be making my order. I understand restaurants are being middle-manned to death, but remove yourself from the roster. They refused to call them for me so I had to call beyondmenu for a refund. What a waste of time.
The lamb chilly dish was pricy and very greasy. Pork dumplings were good but staff knew very little english and that made things a little hectic as we had to use google translator. The experience was going fine till we were paying the bill. Our bill was near 50 $ and one friend took it on his tab. We were international students hence it was a big bill to us. After clearing the bill when we were about to leave the problem started the host started harassing us for the tip! Me and my friends told her that we have no cash and we have a little left on our card but she continued pestering me and my friends forcing us to pay her a tip. We tried explaining her that what’s our situation but she didn’t wish to understand and kept repeating stuff like “why you don’t want to tip?” “You have to tip me” “give me tip on cash if no card”.
New food court in Flushing, like a smaller version of the one at New World Mall. Plenty of seats available and clean looking. There are a small variety of Chinese cuisine including hot pot, Szechuan, Taiwanese, etc.I went to Szechuan Taste where I ordered the spicy dan dan noodles. It is probably the most I have ever paid for this type of noodles at $6.75, however the portion is fairly large. Great numbing spice and tasty. I did find the noodles to be overcooked and hence kind of mushy and they were cheap with the veggies. The lady taking the order was very nice but she does not speak a word of English. Good thing all I had to do was point at the picture and say one.I probably would not come back here because Id much rather go to New World Mall since there are way more options there.
Dont usually write reviews but since this place rarely ever has a line I need to make sure I help keep it in business. Easily the best Szechuan restaurant in NYC. Its a no frills super authentic spot which you can get into without having to wait. This restaurant has been around for over 30 years under a few different owners and slightly different variations of name but the food has remained pretty much the same the whole time.
There are more people at the dinner party today, so you can order more different dishes at Chuanbawang.Duck blood fat sausage is so delicious! A. The choy sum is crisp and refreshing, and the grilled fish, spicy kidney flower, fungus yam, and sauerkraut fat beef are also very delicious!
It was the first time I went to Chuanbawang with my good sisters. I heard from friends that it was very authentic, so I must try it. The result was really amazing to us. The taste is spicy and spicy. It’s too supportive, it’s very easy to eat. I usually eat a bowl of it, haha, and the lady boss is very beautiful. At first glance, the girls from Sichuan are very enthusiastic to chat with us, and come to ask how the food is and how it tastes. , the waiter also comes to add tea at any time. In short, it is highly recommended. Friends who like Sichuan cuisine must try it
Everyone should pay attention that the menu is not the same as the price on the computer! I plan to order some jelly. The price on the computer is about US$2 more expensive than the menu. I said it was changed at the front desk if it was different from the menu. But I will not go again and deceive consumers.
Thousands of thousands of people do not order in this Sichuan restaurant, because the person who takes the order will keep repeating to you Tip more, takeaway delivery is fast. It’s the first time I ordered here. I ordered boiled live fish for $29.9, and sauerkraut beef for $19.9. After tax, it was $$53.24. I originally wanted to tip 10 yuan, but she asked for a tip like this. In the end, I directly give the total of $60 and the balance as a tip. What’s more annoying is that the whole fish is small and pitiful. It’s not enough for one person. I paid $54 and ordered two dishes. The fish is only enough for one person. What kind of experience is it? It makes us feel that $60 is not as good as a meal of instant noodles. 😔
The best Sichuan food you can eat in Flushing is full-sized, affordable, and has a good service attitude. The environment is warm and comfortable, and it is worth everyone to taste the authentic Sichuan cuisine. In 2017, it was also ranked 14th in the United States by the United States on the tip of the tongue, 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

2022-01-30We went here for dinner. We like Szechuan cuisine and what could be better than going to a restaurant that is called Szechuan house. We order the cucumber salad (thats a must), Mapo Tofu and I forgot the name of the third dish.Everything we ordered tasted very good. The mapo tofu wasnt too spicy. The prices are very affordable. If there was anything to complain about, it would be the facility.

2022-07-14This cute little restaurant off the main area of flushing Chinatown is where you can get the best value and tasty traditional Sichuan (or Szechuan) food. Their portions are big and tasty. My friend who is Sichuanese said the fish dish is the most authentic he had outside of China. Dont miss the fish dish!

2022-06-06How do you order 3 main/dinner dishes (averaging $23 a dish) for pickup and have to get into an argument with the OWNER after asking for rice and sauce? An argument with paying customers?! Not for a little more. For SOME. Even after offering to pay!“We don’t give sauces to customers.”A cuisine that’s based off of signature sauces. The question that came out after being handed two packets, “who do you normally give these to?”Condescending. Lying. Embarrassment of a service restaurant. Joke of a owner.

2022-04-02Was very authentic and flavors were amazing! The only thing is some of the dishes can be a little oily. I recommend the braised fish and the husband and wife beef slices.

2017-11-26Great food, fast service, great portion sizes! My family was headed towards the heart of Flushing when we ran into this on the side of the street. It was definitely worth it, authentic Szechuan food. We especially loved the Ma Po Tofu and the the Dried Sauteed String Beans! The food was definitely worth the price by how much food they gave!
