This place is just borderline amazing. I have been visiting this place for over 2 years and its so so so good to the point that sometimes I dont want others to know bc I wanted to keep it low-key as it is now...Seating is VERY LIMITED.Té Company is the place where you want to have some serious tea like loose leaves, and they have the greatest selection of Taiwanese oolong. Whats more amazing is that their pricing is very reasonable, $12-$20 for 3 brews.My favorite teas are Frozen Summit Grand (冻顶乌龙) and Oriental Beauty Grand (东方美人). I also recommend pairing Frozen Summit with their Pineapple Linzer, since both the tea and the cookies have a nutty note.Need to shout out to the genius who invented this Pineapple Linzer, mind-blowingly delicious. The cookies have a delightful hazelnut flavor, and the pineapple jam filling is sweet and citrousy, plus a sprinkle of sea salt and yuzu pepper on top. WOW it is creative and everything just blends so perfectly.Recently they even added some savory Taiwanese tapas to the menu, I have yet to try but will def order the Tea Egg next time Im in town.If theres a 10-star I would def give it to Té Company.
Wonderful tea house with thoughtfully curated tea and food selection! It’s an absolute hidden gem, tucked away on the 1st floor of a brown stone in west village. The spot is pretty small and can only accommodate about 15 people. Get here early if you want to secure a seat.
This was such a cute little place! Its really teeny tiny, so if youre coming with a large group to eat in, make sure you come at the right time.A friend of mine recommended the Blossom Dearie tea with a piece of cheesecake that we all ended up sharing. The tea has a very interesting taste that the cheesecake compliments quite well. The pottery and ware are so tiny and adorable! The waitresses are sweet and welcoming. Overall it was a nice calming experience.
This little shop is a treasure. The selection of teas here are obviously second to none, but for those who might not be into hot leaf juice, the pineapple linzer cookie here is frankly one of the best morsels of dessert that one can find in America. Elena and the staff have always been friendly and willing to share their knowledge as well.
I had such great experience there yesterday. The staff is so welcoming and helpful with questions about the tea selection. I also got the cookies as a treat to myself to eat with the baozhong tea and wow! They crumble in your mouth with all sorts of flavors. The tea is exquisite. It compliments the senses in a way like no other tea did. Looking forward to come back.
A lovely Taiwanese tea shop, you can enjoy the significant Taiwanese food and tea there. They provided over 15 kinds of Taiwanese tea, including oolong, black tea, green tea and pouchong tea. Also good to have the braised pork chop rice bowl and some seasonal cold dish. Absolutely, desserts are really good too. It’s worth to spend your afternoon in this adorable tea shop ;)
Adorable little tea shop! The cherry black tea I had was delicious, and so were the walnut cookies. A great way to catch up with a friend or spend some solo time.
The dessert was great, the tea was below average quality, very disappointed as so many over rated reviews. The tea leaves were very old and wrinkled like re-used several times, needless to say, tasteless, and no fragrance at all.
My favorite tea spot in NYC. I never fail to visit here when I come to Manhattan. Their pineapple lindzers are to die for. I bought three boxes to go for my friends to try back home.
We have been looking for good oriental teahouses in Manhattan and this is definitely the best one. The tea is OUTSTANDING, everybody is unbelievably kind and the place is simply beautiful. Also, it is not as expensive as some other teahouses. Thank you for everything!
I surprised my boyfriend with a tea tasting here. We had to meet the owner pretty early on a Saturday morning, but it was so worth it. She led us through several Taiwanese teas and explained the origin of each. They were paired with several delightful sweets. It was only supposed to be for an hour, but we were all having such a good time, we lasted over two. Such a lovely place. Can’t wait to go back!
Te company is a wonderful tea shop, and the tea tasting they offer is an exemplarary experience. The subdued wooden interior of the shop is tastefully decorated with beautiful menus and tea sets.As for the tea tasting itself, in a 2 hour experience with 5 quality teas plus snacks, I was transported across the major tea producing regions in the world and learned much about tea. Our tea sommelier was warm, amicable, and clearly armed with a wealth of knowledge. She gave an interesting and well prepared talk with visual aids about the tea making process from harvest to cup and the variables that affect the flavor and price. Knowing about each teas production greatly enhanced the tea drinking experience and the teas defining characteristics were easily identifiable. The tea plus snacks are worth the tastings price of admission alone, but I found the education and background information to be the most valuable part. It added much to the experience and will inform how I drink tea in the future. The combination of expert knowledge and quality teas in an intimate setting was a superlative experience. If only all foods and drinks could experienced in this way.
An interesting concept store that specialised in Taiwanese tea and entrees. It is very small and fits 10 people at most.
This is an adorable little tea house with phenomenal teas and a cozy atmosphere. As much as I enjoyed the Frozen Summit oolong tea, their spicy pineapple linzer cookies really stole the show.

Beautiful tea shop where the owner travels to Taiwan to source quality oolong teas. Theyve even created their own line of delicious sweets inspired by their cultures. You can feel the love in every bit of what they do. Definitely stop by if you have spare time to appreciate a good cup of tea.

Came back after 6 months, still as amazing and relaxing as I remembered! I had an alishan, to go with their pineapple linzer was just as delicious as before, must-have. I never knew they served food food, my neighbors had some sort of cheese and jam bread thing, will have to try it if Im ever in NYC again.
A little teahouse tucked in the West Village serving authentically-brewed tea and delicate pastries. Its a peaceful spot but can get crowded on the weekends so its best to come during the week with a good book. The husband & wife duo who run Te are kind and knowledgeable -- ask them for tea recs and learn about their sourcing process!
The pineapple linzer is THE BEST cookie in NYC and I will stand by that. Was kinda put off by how hidden the location was at first, I thought I was walking into someone’s apartment rather than a store, but the cookie I got for takeaway (no dine in bc covid it seems) is absolutely stellar. Gave it to my dad from Taiwan and he loved it too. Not just a great tribute to the pineapple cake but an elevation. You can taste the slightly sourness of the yuzu and the amazing saltiness of the cookies. Amazing amazing amazing

Super authentic tea ceremony experience. Worth going to and for the quality of product and specificity of it its a deal in my opinion. Highly recommend to tea lovers but not necessarily beginners in tea.
I like the pineapple tart cookies, shortcake cookie, & baked mochi with red beans. However I don’t like the service because I have to ask what does each of the on-display cookies represent. The only person in front of the desk don’t care if I know what I’m looking at nor does he care if I’m interested to get any of them. Since there’s no dine in, the squeeze hallway that you have to stand to look at the items can allowed 1-2pp at a time, he should make it as breezy and easy for the customers to make their decision. Don’t assume everyone knows the items or been there before. What if there’s a new item? So it’s 3 stars for lazy service but great cookies.
Té has a knowledgeable, friendly staff. I picked up a sack of the Green Sanctuary Roast oolong yesterday—a complex mix of floral and roasted flavors—and I’m brimming with caffeinated excitement as I write this.

A lot of times its seasonal depending on what the chef can get at the local markets.A tip for those going your first time - you might miss it, theres no obvious signage outside, theres just a little teapot sign. :)
I received a tea tasting for 2 as a Christmas present, and wow...it was such a wonderful experience! We had someone sit down with my partner and me and tell us all about the history, production, and subtle differences between the 5 teas we were tasting (all of which were incredible), and it was so cool to learn the backstory and see photos and video of the farms in Taiwan where they were produced. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and we left with a much deeper appreciation of tea in general, especially Oolong. Oh, and did I mention the snacks? SO GOOD. If youre looking for a unique gift for someone, I cant recommend it enough. Eleven out of five stars :-D

My daughter and I booked a tea tasting here during a long weekend getaway to NYC. We learned so much AND had fun. Our tea tasting was customized to our interests and was a great way to spend the morning. Well definitely be back to enjoy this space when we return to NYC.
A wonderfully tranquil tea drinking experience, I enjoyed the ambience as much as I did my roasted Green Sanctuary oolong tea and pineapple linzer cookie (I ended up eating two). Té Company is a cozy space slightly tucked away in an apartment building in the West Village. It has four tables and an armchair that together only accommodate a total of about 10 to 12 people. This adds a sense of intimacy and calm to the experience although it results in table sharing during busy spells. The decoration is minimalistic and the attention to detail is obvious. I love the tea menu containing a detailed yet endearing description of each tea, and the tea pots and tea cups are quite beautiful. The tea was delicious and the pineapple linzer cookie was unlike any cookie I had eaten before. I enjoyed slowly sipping my tea while reading a book at the table under the window while jazz played in the background. A Saturday afternoon well spent.
Everything about Té Company is amazing, and thats me taking out any instances of tea loving bias.My mom and I came here to have tea after walking around for a few hours. Ive seen this place through a few media outlets I subscribe to and knew I would come here the first chance I did. The reviews really dont lie. Elena really, really knows her teas. I havent frequented that many tea houses in the states, and never have I been to a fancy tea house in Asia, but she really surprised me with how much scientific and botanical knowledge she had on all the teas she carries, and its not just a small handful, its a lot of selection. My mom wanted a puer tea, something more fermented, and instead of going through a paralyzing amount of selection, Elena came by personally, asked what we were looking for, and was quick to recommend something.Service was prompt and the tea can be re-watered as many times as you can til the flavor is gone. We were there for almost 2.5 hrs and had such high quality tea. The pineapple linzer really is reminiscent of the Taiwanese pineapple shortcake and all the complex components tickle every single taste bud.Mind you its not cheap, but its got to be the most worth it treat to have some quiet time to yourself or a nice chat with a friend. The interior is small, but doesnt feel cramped one bit. You can just feel the love they put into the shop ooze out. If I lived in nyc I would come here at least once a week if not everyday.
Even if youre not a tea fanatic, you cant go wrong at this West Village Taiwanese tea hideaway. Knowledgeable friendly service complements the stellar menu of elevated Taiwanese food favorites. Nothing disappoints here.Their 滷肉飯 (Lu Rou Fan / braised pork over rice) is the best in NYC - I highly recommend springing for the optional soy-marinated soft boiled egg.If you only want tea and a sweet treat, a recent crustless cheesecake with wild flower honey was out of this world.
I cant recommend this place enough. The food is absolutely incredible and enhances the experience of this tea house tremendously. The Taiwanese oolongs are wonderful and curated by the owners who happen to also be the nicest people ever. You will not regret coming here.
This little tea shop is a special place in the West Village. I dont think it would be as nice if it were overrun with people, but as is, its a peaceful respite. I stopped in for some oolong tea and to try the pineapple linzer which I had read had its roots in the pineapple cakes of Taiwan. The flavor was great, with an unexpected kick. I prefer the softness of pineapple cakes, but the linzer was a nice new take on the traditional cakes. I also tried the coconut muffin which was moist and delicate. There isnt much seating, but the intimacy of the space is part of its charm. Bring a book and spend an afternoon trying different teas.
The pineapple linzer cookies, with their splash of Japanese yuzu kasha paste, are divine!My son and I did a tasting flight of teas, which really emphasized the amazing varieties of teas offered. If you have time Id strongly recommend having a second brew (these tea leaves can be brewed three times) so you can compare to the first.Friendly and well-educated staff. Fantastic tea. They also serve food and it compliments the tea very well. The panna cotta was very interesting but very tasty with a aged balsamic vinegar that was tart and sweet at the same time. Also everyone is recommending the pineapple cookies but I thought they were nothing too special.
This is the kind of hole in the wall that you brag about finding to your foodie coworkers. My friend brought me here for a quiet tea and brunch, and when I got to the address, I wasnt sure if I had the right place. It looked like an apartment building. When you walk into the building, you turn right into a plain door, and then you see it. The setting is homey and unpretentious, save for the dried artichokes on the table, which are admittedly very attractive. We started with the summit tea, which had a strong barley flavor and light caramel scent, accompanied by the pineapple linzer. The couple sitting next to us ordered the linzer as well and proclaimed Ive never enjoyed a cookie this much in my life. While I wouldnt go that far, my friend and I had a great time dissecting the flavors (flakes of dried seaweed!), a game we would continue throughout the meal. We continued with the chilled asparagus, and then the braised pork rice bowl with egg.Flavors were at once familiar and exotic. The rice bowl brought me back to similar dishes served on the street in Bangkoks Chinatown. The asparagus to cloth napkin restaurants in Shanghai. The couple next to us showed us the New Yorker review theyd torn out of the magazine, which details the chefs background at Per Se. No wonder. The food, like the setting, is unpretentious but winking with intrigue.I hope to come back soon!
Hidden gem in the west village. The owner is incredibly knowledgable and kind and the tea is absolutely delicious. Ive never had oolong like this and now o cant go back! The food is also among the best Ive eaten in NYC. Small simple plates but wonderfully and subtly layered complex flavors. The tortilla (its a like a tortilla española) is a must.
Read about this place online and decided I wanted to check it out. We walked here from our hotel (about 20 min) and it was a little hard to find but once inside it is like a little slice of heaven. Quite, quaint and inviting.The tea was very calming and suited the environment well which was a nice change of pace for busy/loud Manhattan.The cookies are amazing!!!!

Saveur, thank you a million for not letting us pass it!Te Company is a small, but perfect tea house in the heart of Greenwich Village. It opens at 10:30AM and its easy to miss as the sign is very small and it looks like its on the first floor or a brownstone.The owner is super friendly and invites you to sit at one of the few tables by the window. As you sit, youre offered cold water and a very cool looking menu of their specialty teas. Per the owners recommendation, we ordered the smoked oolong tea and it was perfect.Of course we had to order their famous cookies. Its a simple butter cookie with hazelnut flour, a layer of pineapple-rosemary jam and Japanese chili paste, sprinkled with coarse salt and lime zest. Its $3.50 and worth every penny. As a lover of chocolate chip cookies, I was nervous to try it, but it certainly rivals the best chocolate chip cookie I know (Which can be found at Levain Bakery in the Upper West side in case youre curious).If you want a really, really, really amazingly unique cookie and a hidden gem experience, make Le Company a NYC priority!

A fashionable and cute little cafe where you can enjoy Taiwanese tea. The famous pineapple cookie has an exquisite jam sandwiched between crispy, slightly salty and superb! !! You might like it better than the pineapple cake that inspired you. There is also a wide variety of Taiwanese tea. Boxed cookies are also sold, so it would be great if you could make them as souvenirs.
You can get authentic Chinese tea. This time I drank frozen summit oolong tea, which had a strong aroma and taste and was delicious. Recommended when you want to drink relieved Chinese tea.A popular shop where customers are constantly coming. By the way, now only takeout and outdoor activities.
Oolong tea is difficult to drink, expensive, and tasteless. The clerk repeatedly brews the tea to customers. Super not recommended. Cocos green tea is better than this oneThe tea doesn’t have any flavor, they refill the same pot tea to different customers.Highly not recommended.

2022-04-23After reading lots of reviews, I went to Té Company with high expectations and I was not disappointed. The entire experience was delightful from start to finish. I selected a tasting of three oolong teas and selected the pineapple linzer for my first food pairing. The linzer was everything I hoped it would be after reading glorious reviews about it. I wish I had bought some more to take home to my husband. I also had other wonderful foods seen in the pics I’ve included here. All delighted my palate. My server (I believe his name is Gordon) was very informative about the teas as well as which foods paired best with each. He then suggested a tea sampler package to take back to Boston. 5-star plus service! Thank you. I’ll definitely be back to Té Company.

2022-07-17A tiny serene tea house with 5-6 tables and good oolong teas (including premium options). Each pot ($14-18) can be steeped 3 times making tea taste bolder with each steeping. I loved Oriental Beauty (oxidized oolong) with strong dry fruit notes. My friend went for a premium White Peony - which was more delicate and subtle.So happy to have a place where you can sip very good tea and chat.Surprisingly many men guests, i spent 3 hours there and 70% of visitors were males.

2019-12-01My favorite tea place in the city. The teas are mostly (maybe all?) sources from Taiwan, and served in picturesque traditional teacups and teapots. You get three steepings per tea, including the tasting set. Definitely try the food, it’s excellent, especially the pineapple linzer cookies. They also make great gifts!

2020-07-31A fantastic place to get an amazing pot of Taiwanese tea and Taiwanese inspired food. The service is friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The tea menu is filled with information letting you choose a tea based on level of oxidation or roast.I’d suggest the 2025 if you want a light tea with natural sweetness. The Gaba tea is another one that’s not always in the spotlight with its unique flavor but it is a very comforting tea.
