Our favorite place in Hudson. My hubby and my son love the Taghkanic Creek in the backyard of the motel for trout fishing. They caught a trout nearly 25 inches! Unbelievable experience. Always been our destination for Memorial Day weekend getaway. Very friendly staffs and clean room. Highly recommended!

Kenny was a wonderful host!This older motel was charming, located in a beautiful area just off the Taconic Parkway.As a guest they cater to your every need.Because of the service my wife and extended family came back for a second visit, and plan to come back next year.

Each year in July my family gets together for a reunion at Lake Taghanic State Park. Those of us who have come from longer distances than a just a day trip stay over at the Taghkanic Motel for the weekend. This motel (and Jo Jos Pizza) have become part of our familys tradition. The place is clean and the family who runs it are lovely people. You get the basics: a clean bathroom, clean beds, good air conditioning and a small fridge. Theres no coffee makers in the rooms.... but the Getty station is just across the street and they have good coffee there:) There are two picnic tables; one on either end of the motel. This past time we were there my family took up 7 out of the 10 rooms. The owners son was kind enough to move the picnic tables together by the tree house, which is located right next to a very large lawn. We cooked out and had a blast! Its a very basic and we just love it!

The level of this hotel is not a 4 stars but my experience it is..this is run by a great family and there is not special things, but you can feel as resting and no trying to do 20 things at the same time as when you are paying a lot en a 5 stars and you want to use as for what you pay for...here you have window AC, not wheel chair door path, small closed, but still you get good size bed, nice natural views, not breakfast but a dinner across the street as well as a gas station...great lake 19 miles aways and your car is parked next to your window...this wont show in Expedia and similar pages but if you want a place to sleep and not a crucero, this is your 80 bucks night

It was terrible came in at 5:30 in the morning or so paid 100 dollars went in the room there was mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. There was like no heat it was a cold November night like 30 degrees but they give you an extra blanket. Then I finally get to bed around 6 and at 10 oclock theyre pounding on the door saying its time to check out yelling and whatever language they speak to the mother and son I believe in the son got very smart with me waving his hands in the air and screaming and I said I paid for the day Ive been here like 5 hours for $100 so this is ridiculous and they started talking back and forth to each other and their language and then he began to yell back at us in English that we had to get out now. will never be going there again. And I wouldnt suggest it to anybody else especially if you have kids because the bathrooms are filled with black mold
