One of the last authentic taiwanese restaurants left in Flushing. I love their pork chop over rice. The pork chop is soft yet crispy and the veggies that come with the rice are a great combo. Portions are huge for the price. The gua bao and taiwanese sausage are also very good. Its easy to miss this restaurant because its located at the very back of a mall that has several different food stalls. Also, there are only a few tables that are shared with all of the other food stalls so I recommend take out.
The food was amazing. Ingredients were very fresh and everything was handmade with love. The aunty and uncle were quick to recommend new things to try. Try they squid ball soup. The only downside is the location. Its deep in a building and only has a few shared, rickety tables.
We got popcorn chicken and stinky tofu as afternoon snacks. The popcorn chicken was delicious. Every piece was huge and juicy. Unfortunately they didn’t make it with basil which is what we usually add in this dish. The stinky tofu was ok. It was too soft. Overall a little bit pricy.
I’ve been to another Taipei Hong in Elmhurst. This one is located off Roosevelt in Flushing inside a 5-stall mini food court and may not be easy to locate. I guess the best marker is T-Mobile which is 2 door away. There’re a few 2-seater tables shared among all stalls, but aside from the 3 against wall, they are subject to foot traffic and people who are waiting. So this is really geared for carry-out orders.I don’t normally order this dish because it always gets preempted by other bolder dishes when I’m in town. Today nostalgia called and I made it a point to get it. It’s listed as “Mixed Tempuras” on the menu; I’d subtitle it as “Tempura Bowl with Broth”. My MIL is right that it’s a dish we can easily make with ingredients from an Asian supermarket, but the sauce that accompanies the dish is crucial and I don’t think it’s readily available in stores. The bowl consists of chunks of Daikon radishes, fish balls, fish cakes, seafood tofus, and fried tofus soaked in a pool of the magic sauce, with a cup of pork broth served separately. It was very temperature hot and very satisfying. The soft and crunchy texture is very easy on the mouth. I got what I came for and I highly recommend this dish.I also ordered some Taiwanese Burgers with pork bellies. It didn’t look its best and I’ve had better ones elsewhere. So yeah, I’ll need to come back for their signature dishes to give a real verdict.
Excellent spot for Taiwanese Popcorn chicken. Each bite was delectable. Portions for one order was actually great for a meal on the go...you can add rice or noodles as well for just a few cents more. Otherwise, the one order is good to share for 2 as a snack. The chicken pieces were juicy and while still bite sized, it was at least 2 bites each piece...so not tiny/small pieces. Well worth the $.
Been here multiple times now to order takeout on my way home. Their Gua Bao is great for the price. I like their pork chop over rice and the meat over rice that comes with it. There is something different about it from 66 and other Taiwanese pork chops. Not saying its definitely better but its good and different. Their beef noodle soup is great and it doesntfeel as heavy as other beef broths. It has a cleaner and lighter feel to it.
I ordered three bentos and one Mala Tang, but when I got home, I only had two bentos. I called and asked, and they kept saying that I had three bentos. I wondered where the missing one was. And this is not the first time it happened, I ordered a bunch of things before, and then forgot to give us stinky tofu, I can only blame myself for being unlucky, and I can only leave their store after ordering clearly.

2021-11-13Hole in the wall place like most places in Flushing. I’ve been here about five times now and the food has been consistently delicious. They have a pretty good selection of Taiwanese eats, great to bring a friend who has never tried Taiwanese food. CASH ONLY.

2022-04-03Good Taiwanese food at reasonable prices. Takeout maybe the best option, since there is limited seating in the small mall space. Love their popcorn chicken, when ordered spicy.

2022-07-24I, >Love this place >MUCH!; they have PRETTY good tastes; &, really, cost Little! My reasons, partly, are: since, a, number of the, foods that can be gotten here, are not, only, >just edible; they are, also: >Pretty Darn Good; &, their prices, Are, Also: a, >pretty >darn >good value; their stuff is well presented; well made; &, done nicely, in that they are open to doing some changes from the menu, to some dishes; as suits my own preferences; &, Very nicely, their days; &, hours, are noticeably longer, than mostly all other consumable foods vendors, in this neighborhood!!!!But: on the other hand, relatively speaking; here, they are: >>>>Not so sanitary; &, >>>>Not so clean;...however, sadly, that is true, in almost all of: the, Chinese places, in: Flushing; Chinatown; &, Sunset Park; &, in fact, right after eating; whilst walking home; I, vomited; &, some of whats eaten in this mall; &, in chinatown can be pretty disgusting.More Importantly, though, all personnel, from the Many mini shops, in this eateries same locations; have No; real English skills; >Or: >>very little English abilities; here; &, nearly everywhere, in: this, Flushing area; &, other similar, Ethnic; &, predominately: Asian neighborhoods; Plus: Much, reprehensible; repugnant; UnFair; Unthinkable; Unacceptable; Grotesque; Heinously Objectionable: Racial >>>Prejudice; towards almost All whom are Non-Asian; &, more specifically; Non-Chinese; &, little ventilation; making high; Hot temperatures; &: stale, stinky, sticky, oily, greasy, stuffiness; w/: Very, tight; unsafe; >Dangerous; claustrophobic; cramped quarters; &: cheap; &: fairly limited beverage; &, food options of too limited choices; as the, normal, standard, conditions;...Plus: as well, the repulsive habits of many customers here; which are also, a, big: turn-off.However, good values; somewhat extended hours; an, ability to get here, easily, by public transportation; &, an, owner, that is ok; dealing, w/: people who have: no Chinese lingual skills; which is usually, the case, for MANY visitors; &, travelers, passing thru, transiently; even in many of these cases, in Flushing; where money; &, sales are very quickly demanded; an, area; &, where: little to NO explanations; talk; discussion; or: real interactions of nearly ANY meaningful sort, occur; so, quite a few folks, have ways to get by; &, to manage; &, to cope, one way; or: another. There are Massive expectations dumped on customers; w/: typical Chinese combativenesses; &, >>Aggessions; all over this neighborhood; &, routinely VERY >>>POOR customer service; that is: SO Bad; THAT: frankly: IT IS: flatly, Non-Existant; IN >>>NEARLY EVERY SINGLE CASE; all over these strongly ethnic regions, like: Jackson Heights; Washington Heights; many parts of The Bronx; Etc! This is due to vastly differing lingual capacities; significant variances in culturalities; educational backgrounds; economic levels; Etc. But, to those who say: that this is due, totally to the lackings of English ability; I know: that those are MERELY FAKE EXCUSES!!!!!. Customer friendliness, Is: VERY RARELY: ever seen, here, in this community. Money >Is the Sole interest; NOT customer satisfactions. That being said, this place, has better food; better service; more care; more customer interest; better conditions; better prices; better selection; better cross cultural abilities; has aquired more adaptability; &, more assimilation related skills; Etc., than most; at better practical terms; with more convenience; &, w/: more flexibly interesting menu, so as, to appeal to a cross-cultural customer base; which they also: deliver cooked orders to, faster; w/: better understanding; more English abilities; &, more interest to at least try to serve Non-Chinese folks; than most locales, to be found, in: all of: the, current downtown Flushing; &, Main Street region; which quite often includes: actual, outright hostilities; aggressive combativeness; &, violence; toward Any who are Non-Chinese; &, Non-Koreans; &, Non-Asiatics, too. 2022-02-22Always a solid choice for pork chop or chicken chop over rice. Their pork belly bun is also on point with just the right amount of salty sweet and fatty. My only issue with this place is that they dont have more taiwanese dishes on the menu.
